So since I have (had?) a perfection file in Stardew, here's what I can see that's new in 1.6 right off the bat!

There are two new menu tabs. One tracks your animals, and the other tracks your special items. It looks like there are a lot of new special items, too!

The farmer tab now has a few helpful trackers for which bundles you've completed, your house upgrade level, what floor you've reached in the mines, and the number of stardrops you've collected! I have no clue what the star gauge is for! :D It might be something entirely new, because I don't know why else it would be empty on a perfection file. I also have no idea if the little trees in the corner mean anything. Possibly it is a seasonal thing? On my other file, they're palm trees instead of pine trees, so I assumed it related to Ginger Island.

As for the collections tab, there are 10 new shippable items, 4 new fish, no new artifacts or minerals, 1 new cooking recipe, 9 new achievements, and 2 new secret notes :0

There are also several interesting new crafting recipes, but I haven't dug through to find them all! There are also probably more waiting to be found as I play. The ones I'm excited about are the tent kit (looks like a one-time use, portable sleep spot so you don't pass out!) and both the bait maker and deluxe worm bin (I love fishing). The crafting tab has also been organized really neatly in a way that I appreciate! It's visually AND logically appealing :D

There are also several mentions of moss and forest neighbors(?) that are very much intriguing me! If you're reading this, you probably know what this stuff is about, but I just opened up the game! I can't wait to find out :DDD

Bisexuality looks different on everyone. Some in sapphic relationships, some in achillean relationships, some in duaric relationships, and some all bi themselves :) I’m so happy to have so many bisexual role models in my teenage hood and young adulthood that I didn’t have during my childhood <3

Note: IK that Princess Bubblegum and Gary Gumball are not canon bisexual, but they are both canon queer, free to be headcannoned as either bi or gay/lesbian. Everyone else here are canonically specifically bi tho :3

i napped the entire day away and my dreams included, but were not limited to: big earthquake that, as it was happening, i was like "oh this is a bad one" and my stepdad went "its not that bad" - our house slid down a ravine into water / very vivid evening apocalypse that - after the blast hit and i died - swirled into sleep paralysis that occurred While I Was Dreaming (and i do mean swirled. i got whipped around like an inflatable tube man) / rich people sitcom where everyone was unbearable but i had my dear cat Letti with me / sound-based monster shaped like my mom that i kept from killing me via a funny joke (i didnt even get to finish my microwaved macaroni smh)

#it was dream after dream after dream #man that apocalypse one tho. slotting that one into one of my favorite death dreams it was so pretty and peaceful #everyone was just meandering to the beach but for some reason my legs were really weak and i couldnt walk #i tried! but i wound up just collapsing on the crosswalk. but a nice lady stopped and helped me up #and she helped me to the beach where everyone was gathering to watch the oncoming blast #oh man it was gorgeous. it was the only source of light so the ocean was glimmering with it and a low golden hue was cast over everything #no one was screaming or panicking! no one was scared. there were people on picnic blankets or just standing and watching #it was gorgeous and calming in a morbid sort of way. we were all in it together <3 #absolutely unprompted #a great break from the irritating other dreams! #the earthquake one was Incredibly realistic - foreshocks and accurate ground movement and everything! #house shook right off of its foundation #that sleep paralysis Within a dream one tho. fuck that one lmao #i woke up and was So confused for a second bc i couldve sworn i had already woken up #good to know even my subconscious is done with The Demons trying to get me #i love clawing my way tooth and nail out of sleep paralysis and not humoring The Paralysis Horrors #if i ever see my sleep paralysis demon im biting it so fucking hard. we have beef

So this week’s story has raised a big question for me; just WHAT tools does Rasputin have at his disposal? Because even if we limit ourselves to the idea Rasputin ONLY has options that would technically tithe to Xivu, there’s a whole ladder of escalation beyond what we’re currently doing and below playing into Xivu’s hand. I feel like we’ve only ever seen the top (Warsats go BRRRRRR) and bottom (Give Guardians guns) of that ladder.

Short answer: Destiny's writers deliberately keep the extent of Rasputin's arsenal ambiguous, but I think he scrapped everything midrange a long time ago and was hoping to just nuke the Wrathborn from orbit.

Long answer: I said in an earlier post that Rasputin's four roles in the Destiny narrative are mystery, tragedy, power, and humanity. You're getting at the angle of both power and mystery. What arrows are in Rasputin's megaton quiver? We don't know. He has the warsats, of course, we know about those; we've also heard about fun toys like caedometric cannons and antimatter warheads under his control during the Golden Age. But then we also get hints at hidden and hibernating assets or secret projects - enough to bolster Rasputin's air of power and mystery and make it plausible when the narrative requires he pull something extra-spicy out of the closet.

Red probably did have more assets between "hand cannon" and "planetary defense cannon," but he lost an enormous chunk of matériel fighting the Pyramid Fleet the first go-round. Everything midrange would have either gotten scrapped for resources or bodged together into something bigger, and post-Collapse he had no incentive to rebuild those assets. He's been piecing together some defensive stuff that will hopefully mean less babysitting his facilities - his frames carry weapons and those perimeter defense towers pack a punch - but it hasn't been a priority.

But remember one of Rasputin's strengths is his adaptability, and not just his decentralized processing network. He's very good at taking what's on hand and turning it into what he needs. He fabricated the supercharged Valkyrie to use against Xol more or less on the fly, and scrambled long-disused assets into a brand-new artillery battery to take down the Almighty in a matter of weeks. The IKELOS weapons have that rapid-prototype look for a reason. Sleeper's hacked together from old Golden-Age weapon designs*. Red had serious manufacturing complexes in Hellas Basin at his disposal and, while we still don't know what Seraph energy is, it seems like he can fold it into matter on demand. So asking "what tools does Rasputin have" is a little like asking a chef with a pantry full of ingredients "what's for dinner."

*I like to think it's a miniaturized warsat cannon, but a friend of mine has a great theory that Sleeper's a vehicle-mounted weapon Rasputin made Guardian-portable by stripping off all that pesky radiation shielding.

In the specific case of the Wrathborn, though, I think Rasputin was hoping to get it all over with at once. He doesn't have the resources for a long campaign, and he risks contamination by Xivu Arath. Rasputin would rather go for major overkill than deploy too little up front and have to sustain and escalate. He's kind of a glass cannon right now, while the Hive can hold their own against Cabal attrition campaigns, and there's no attrition like Cabal attrition. And there's the additional threat of Hive corruption, which, we've never gotten an answer on whether Omnigul could have poisoned him, but neither he nor the Vanguard wanted to find out. We've already seen Wrathborn contamination subvert mechanical systems. And I've talked before about how he doesn't actually like combat that much; he has no concept of "fair play" or a proportional response. No, Red wanted to deliver one quick hammer-blow so massive he didn't have to deliver another, and it looks like he's not going to get that.
