Shuichi, Kokichi and Nagito’s crush likes napping on his lap during breaks
Shuichi Saihara:
·       Ah yes, the Super High School Level Astronomer, it was no wonder Kaito would be friends with such a person, and whoever Kaito was friends with, all his other friends would be friends with them as well, that was how Shuichi had met you. Often in those nightly training sessions, for a break Kaito, Shuichi, Maki and whoever else felt like joining them that evening would jog around till finding you, telescope by your side. You’d speak of the stars, of legends that surrounded them, of how travelers of old navigated the world through them, how stars were born, what there different colors meant, and so much more. Folklore, history, science, didn’t matter, you knew and continued to learn about each and any possible aspect you could about those specks of light. However, you were rather quiet outside of those moments, though you weren’t closed off. It was more so, if you weren’t speaking of stars you’d just so intently listen to others.
·       … Maybe that’s how or why it happened? More often than not, when at school you were rather drowsy. You were often out, camping in the mountains away from the harsh city lights so when you were at school it was nice. When you were around, Shuichi made sure to spend time with you. You were able to speak so much without words, it was fun trying to interpret your expressions. Truthfully Shuichi didn’t think much of it at first, it was just how you were, quiet, yet outgoing, bubbly even. Others however had a more difficult time understanding you, somehow they didn’t notice the many little nuances that made up you, your slightest shift of expression or tilt of the head, your body language, how you spoke more so with your eyes, engaging in the conversations in your own way. How others couldn’t Shuichi had no idea at first, you were captivating, how could they NOT notice!?
·       At first he had thought it was simply him being a detective, often having to interpret and read people through his work with his Uncle, but… that was not quite it, there was more to this. I didn’t come naturally, he WANTED to understand you. He found himself drawn to you, your gravity too powerful for him to even consider resisting. And it seemed the same could be said for you too. Whenever break rolled around, no matter how short it may be, you’d always seek him out. Due to more often than not being awake through the night you’d nap, but Shuichi didn’t mind, not even when you used his shoulder or lap as a pillow. He’d read his novels aloud to you, or if he was working through a case, walk through his logic aloud, he’d just speak even if you were asleep, something in him just knew you were still taking this all in.
·       Even if he was somehow one of the few people who understood you, he wondered how you had even seen him yet. You were like a supernova in his eyes, so bright, so stunning, so colorful, leaving only beauty and wonder in your wake, how did you notice him? By chance did your heart race too at the thought of spending more time together? Did you also find a soft, comforting, warmth in his presence as he did you? Did you adore hearing him speak just as he did you? Whatever the case may be for you, he sure hopped it was something similar because he simply wished to your beloved stars above that you felt even half as amazing as he did with you, he just wanted you to know of such a fantastic emotion, it, no… you were astonishing and he simply wished to share and indulge in it with you.
   Kokichi Oma:
·       “Y/N!” “Hu-AH” You groaned, shakily pushing yourself off the ground. Then you noticed all your items had slipped out of your bookbag. You sighed, seeing all your papers had fallen out of your folders as well. “Geez, Y/N, I didn’t know you were so clumsy!” “Ah, just tired today I guess.” You noticed how Kokichi kept taking glances to you as he helped gather your items. Not surprising considering you literally just tumbled down a flight of stairs. Before you knew it all your supplied had already been collected and placed back in your bag. That was really quick. You winced as you stood up. Your knees almost collapsed under you and Kokichi was in the position to catch you should you have fallen but thankfully you were able to do so yourself. “Hey, hey! Where are you going?” “Oh, uh… umm.” You thought and thought but couldn’t remember. It was so hard, you felt like your mind was swimming and swirling, all thoughts fuzzy and difficult to reach.
·       Then suddenly you were being dragged along by the hand. “What the-” “You are coming with me! This’ll be fun! Especially if you have nothing better to do!” You were completely confused but more so shocked from the whole situation so you couldn’t really bring yourself to try to stop or ask where you were even going.
·       Koichi just kept running around, getting you completely lost. Eventually though he let go, dashing a few paces forward before tumbling and falling. “O-Oma!?” He simply laughed, sitting up. He hummed as the wind rolled past swaying his hair as he looked up to the sky. “Oh, Y/N, Y/N! Look at that!” You were confused looking up to the sky where he was pointing. “Ugh, you can’t see it from there, sit down already!” Taking your arm, he playfully tugged on it, but even that was enough to send you falling. Even with you sprawled across his lap, he managed to scooch over enough so just your head was there. “Perfect! Now, that cloud looks like Gonta; giant, kinda dumb, soft. And that one-” You were… quite puzzled. Clouds? Of all things? That was what he wanted to show you? You heard Kokichi speaking, but it was all noise to you, it held no meaning. You just listened as he droned on and pointed, the shadow of his outstretched arm conveniently covering your eyes.
·       You never really noticed how nice and soft Kokichi’s voice could be. Then again, he was always so loud or quiet, constantly shifting tone you never got the chance to just hear it… It was… rather pleasant. You wanted to hear him longer, engage in whatever game he was playing but so quickly your eyes drooped and all our senses simply lulled to nothing.
·       Then it was evening. At first the sight of those orange and purple hues confused you, but then- “Y/N, you’re alive! It’s been twenty years and Miu’s army of robots have taken over! We need you to join the resistance!” He couldn’t help but laugh at your absolutely baffled expression. “But that’s a lie.” “… oh yeah… Wait…” You suddenly completely awakened, abruptly sitting up. “It’s evening already!? Did we skip class!?” “It’s whateves, Y/N. Hope’s Peak doesn’t care if we skip class.” “No, not that!” You sighed, burrowing your face into your hands and mumbled to yourself. “I didn’t take the new meds again. Of course, I didn’t.” Huh, new medicine was it. Kokichi smirked, dragging you up onto your feet. “C’mon! You’ll make us late for dinner!”
·       The next several weeks were like that. No matter what you did you’d always end up napping on Kokichi’s lap at some point. This was much needed. Your therapist had been fired so you had to start all over with someone new, who wanted to give you new medicine meaning new side affects that could only be worked around via time management. It was a process trying to work out what amount you needed and what not. Napping with Kokichi was just about the only solace you had gotten in the chaos. When you had found a good balance of medication no longer were you exhausted in the day or losing sleep at night. It was great though, admittedly you missed it.
·       It had been about a week or so since your medication seemed to stable out and all was well with you once more. The bells for break had tolled and you left class. Break wasn’t long, but you didn’t care. Hearing shrieks and screams of terror and that ‘Nishishi” you knew you were close. Seeing Kokichi make his escape you simply went to one of the benches outside. And there you waited.
·       You still waited even after the bells signaling the end of break had tolled. “Oh? Y/N actually skipping class!? What has this world come too!? Soon the sky will be falling!” Seeing he wasn’t lying per say and just exaggerating you decided to answer. “I haven’t taken my nap yet.” You took his hand, pulling him onto the bench and you placed your head atop his lap. Though you weren’t not tired, a mid-day nap in the sun just felt so nice.
·       Thankfully for Kokichi, you were asleep so you couldn’t see his giddy smile. Though with this seemingly becoming the new norm you’d likely catch him one of these days. For now he’d just indulge in this moment with you, his crush and worry about that when it happens.
   Nagito Komaeda:
·       Though you were an Ultimate, an amazing person who could take care of themself just fine, Nagito worried about you. You slept, a lot. No matter when or where you could find a place to nap should you want too. It wasn’t all the time though, Nagito still had many conversations with you and had gotten to see your talent firsthand, an extraordinary sight! When you were awake, you’d spend much of your time with him, often over analyzing him trying to see if there was a scientific cause for the outlandish phenomena that was his luck. Not surprising since you were a scientist. At times Nagito wondered if your mind worked so hard when you were awake, trying to solve every last mystery the world had to offer, that drove you to exhaustion so quickly. That would explain how you could be so excitedly chatting away about one theory of yours or another only for you to suddenly fall over, knocked out. Thankfully it seemed Nagito’s luck would kick in moments like that so he could catch you before your face smashed into the ground.
·       Always following you around, trying to keep your drowsy tendency from getting you into danger, from just always being beside he had become your assistant of sorts. Though he would never dare to insist on it, he always sneakily became the one to carry your stuff around in the end, even if you had started your journey with them. Taking you by your shoulders he’d steer you away from bumping into other people or objects. He would take your hand, but he felt unworthy of such an honor unless you decided he could and he knew if he did a bright scarlet would erupt on his cheeks and his heart would pick up in pace, things you surely would notice with your keen eye. When you were awake, nothing could get past you, so Nagito would have to be extra careful. He couldn’t let you figure out his feelings. He simply didn’t have it in him to confess and he was garbage, surely you wouldn’t reciprocate his feelings, but if you did somehow, it’s not like he would deny you, someone like him had no right to deny an Ultimate, or so he thought at least.
·       Although… Nagito couldn’t help his feelings seeping out, no matter how much he had tried to keep them inside. Often, he was just talking and suddenly he’d be complimenting you and about to say he loved you and he’d have to cut himself off by causing an ‘accident’ like tripping over chairs or abruptly changing his words to say something else. He was always left a flustered mess.
·       It was just another day when Nagito strolled into your lab, finding your workspace was filled with many documents, many taped to white boards with string attacked to each and every last one, some string simply linking two pages on the same board, others stretching across the room, forcing one to duck, and twist to avoid them all, one could compare it to avoiding the lights in the laser filled room in some generic spy flic. “Hmm, but how to go about testing this?” “Testing what?” “Oh, Komaeda! Perfect timing!” You strolled over to him, looking through some file, seemingly not paying attention to your surroundings yet still avoiding all that strings. “Today I’m studying human communication!” “Uh huh.” “And I wish to test something!” You looked to him with those stunningly bright eyes as you explained, completely captivating him. “The power of words. I wish to see if they are like water in a pipe. For comparison, imagine a person as the pipe and the words water. I wonder if say a person is upset, if speaking to another person was the only way to alleviate the pressure of those emotions, or if just speaking aloud, even to no one, if that’d alleviate the pressure as well, OR if something else would happen. Yes, each individual is different, but there could still be a majority! I’m thinking we’ll go about-” a yawn escaped you before you continued. “about this… by…” You took a small notebook from your pocket, quickly scribbling down notes as Nagito lead you to a couch in the corner of the room. Nagito already knew this was coming considering that ‘pipe’ comparison didn’t make much sense since pipes would still leak, even if with another pipe around.
·       He sat beside you on the couch and moments later you rested your head on his lap. You tried holding up the little book to him and when he took it your hand and arm went limp, you already fast asleep. Nagito couldn’t help but smile, seeing you already so restful. As usually he looked through your notebook, seeing what he needed to prepare in order to set up your tests. Curiously he also looked over your notes, wondering how your interest in astrology the day prior lead to this through your connective thinking. It was always fun seeing how you could draw connections between seemingly completely unrelated topics, then again that was likely how you were such a good scientist. As he continued to read, fascinated by your research he began to wonder something. Looking to you his heart melted. “I love you.” Immediately his heart raced, and he felt that heat raising to his cheeks. What if a person were to vent to another, even if they weren’t paying attention? Perhaps because he still had told you, he still would have gotten this off his chest and he’d stop almost confessing to you so often.
·       That was how Nagito had begun to whisper his affections to you as you slept. It was a thrill like no other, fearing you’d awake right as he confessed his feelings, yet also endlessly excited by the thought as well. There was more than a fair share of times where he was almost caught, but it seemed you were none the wiser to his words of love.
·       “Hmm? Komeada? What are you mumbling about?” For a moment he froze, love struck at your soft tender expression. “Ah-uh-Oh? I was speaking? I apologize if I woke you up.” You simply huffed in response… a-and you just kept looking at him? Oh boy. Did you know? Was he finally caught? What would your response be? What did you think of him? “Thank you.” “Huh?” You smiled, nuzzling into him. “having this… instantaneous version of narcolepsy… Even though I started studying, I could never figure out how to stop it, maybe that’s because I get distracted easily, I- wait, no. No tangents.” You took a deep breath trying to reorganize your thoughts. “It… can be scary, one moment being awake then suddenly asleep. Before you I’d often sleep on the train and go way past my stop and get lost. There have also been a number of near-death experiences like when I fell asleep when walking across the street. I… it’s nice, knowing you’re around. To keep me safe and keep an eye on me. And I guess waking up to hearing your voice, waking up knowing for a fact I was safe… I don’t know, it was just nice, and I want you to know, I truly do appreciate you putting up with me.”
·       How… how could you make him fall for you more and more so effortlessly? Well, if you liked hearing his voice when you woke up… maybe… maybe next time he wouldn’t stop speaking of his love for you, even as you awoke. After all, he could never deny you anything, especially not your own comfort and ease of mind.

V3 Boys x Inhuman!S/O
Tumblr media
Your creature is: Angel
He always did feel that you brought sunshine and guidance into his life.
He just didn't know that it was literally your job to do so.
Still, you were an anomaly to him. You were just so perfect, so pure. And yet, the aura you radiated was just so powerful.
Shuichi found himself having less nightmares. Instead, you almost always found a way into his dreams, not that he was complaining.
He did, however appreciate whenever you offered him advice. You always knew the right thing to do, and he knew that he could always count on you.
"I had a feeling that it wasn't the right call. Wow, S/O, you really are wise!"
As a detective, however, he has a natural curiosity and drive to explain things that are unexplainable.
How do you get things right so often?
And everytime you got a scratch or cut, no matter how large or small, it was practically fully healed by the next day?
Hmmm...
Tumblr media
Your creature is: Demon
You seriously needed to walk on eggshells around your boyfriend if you didn't want to be found out.
Literally all he does is study rituals that could be potentially harmful to you.
You love him anyways, though, which is the main reason you can't let him in on your identitiy.
You did your absolute best to keep Korekiyo out of harm's way.
Whenever you felt the negative energy someone possesed, you had no problem telling them to stay away from your boyfriend.
He really values having peace, so he makes sure to thank you for driving away any negative people.
"Oh, S/O, my darling, how I'm always so appreciative of you keeping me in your best interests."
He always feels a little hurt when you won't join him in studying his rituals, though.
"My darling, is something wrong? I'm not making you uncomfortable, am I?"
You always have to sweat nervously and come up with an excuse.
Tumblr media
Your creature is: Unicorn
An interesting pair for sure.
But you made it work.
Kokichi was very nosy, so hiding was a bit difficult. However, you were used to masking your true identity, so you found ways.
Your boyfriend also being a little gremlin, you had to protect him at all times.
But he's Kokichi, so he pretends he doesn't like it.
"Jeeeeeez, S/O, I don't need you following me around all the time!"
You're not immortal, but you've lived much longer than Kokichi. You've met kind people, mean people, evil people, good people, honest people, and liars. You knew he was lying.
Surprisngly to you as well, he was very prone to feelings of deep sadness and loneliness, like a dark cloud was hanging over his head.
You may or may not use your magic to drive away any negative thoughts that he may have about himself.
He's in denial that he feels better around you...because he's Kokichi and it scares him.
"Yeah, you're alright to have around. The perfect prank target!"
😑😑😑😑😑
Tumblr media
Your creature is: Werewolf
The guy is very reclusive, so he really doesn't care when you tend to keep your distance out of fear of being found out.
"I'm too dangerous for you anyways, S/O. Maybe you should just go find someone better..."
He even suspected you of cheating when you kept going out at night, but didn't bother to say anything.
You would never even think of leaving Ryoma, and it made you a little bit sad he would even think of that. You knew it wasn't his fault, though.
One thing you did dislike about him, though, was the fact he was a cat person. Every time his cat hissed at you, you did a low growl bsck, scaring it off. Only when you're alone with her do you growl, however.
"Guess she doesn't like you, huh? I'm sorry about that."
You always smile so sweetly at him, reassuring him that it's okay.
Whenever you two go out, you make sure to let everyone know that you weren't messing around.
If they say something, you walk up to them and bear your teeth, and they take off in the other direction.
"Typical... even strangers don't want to be around me."
Somebody please get this man some therapy.
Tumblr media
Your creature is: Shinigami
For the most part, life is pretty normal for the two of you.
Gonta doesn't really get himself into troubling situations, so you don't really have to worry about sentencing him to death.
Anyone who hurts him, however?
That's a different story.
You try not to kill too many people, though, as you know that's not what Gonta would want.
He gets really confused when one of his bugs sting you and you don't even flinch.
"S/O! Gonta sorry about bee! S/O isn't hurting?!"
You make up a reason, and he just goes along with it.
If ever a time does come when you have to sentence Gonta, you have to decide.
Will you save his life and sacrifice yours, or let him die in a peaceful way and let him rest?
What will you do?
Tumblr media
Your creature is: Wendigo
It's pretty easy to get past Kiibo.
Although he may find it a little bit strange how you almost never seem to get very hungry, or eat...
He doesn't question it.
After all, all humans are different! He's read up on this thing they have called "metabolism". Yours is probably just really slow!
"Um, S/O are you positive that you'll be okay?"
As easy as it was, though, you didn't feel right murdering and eating innocent people behind your unknowing boyfriend. So, you went to the nearest prison, found a person who was on Death Row, and decided to just feast on them.
Hey, they were going to die anyways, and they were a criminal.
Still, you couldn't help but feel a little guilty looking into your boyfriend's oh-so innocent eyes.
"Don't worry, S/O! There's apparently someone who's been breaking into prisons and murdering inmates, but I'll do my best to protect you to the very end!!!"
He's Baby.
Tumblr media
Your creature is: Unicorn
He gets very upset time to time, whenever he thinks about his sisters.
Obviously, you use your powers to help him search.
"I refuse to give up. With you by my side, S/O, I just know that we can find them...together."
You have ultrasound, and you use it to listen for any sounds, or get any hints at all.
When you're both riding in the boat, you use protection charms to make sure no sharks or other dastardly sea creatures disturb you.
You also use one to prevent the two of you from getting seasick.
You also use any powers you have to try and ward away Rantaro's negative thoughts or any self-doubt, but it doesn't always work.
It makes you feel bad that your powers can only do so much. All you wanted was to find his sisters.
But you wouldn't give up, not now and not ever. You had to be strong for each other. You just knew that one day you would find them, all 12 of them.
"I know it's going to be a struggle, but we can do it."
Tumblr media
Your creature is: Wendigo
Kaito was one of the only ones who had just the utmost belief in you, and it always made you feel bad for being a literal cannibal.
He was very proud when you announced your new job at a prison.
"Helping those in need! That's so awesome, S/O!"
Heh...yeeaaaahhhhhh.
You kept the eating to an absolute minimum.
Whenever Kaito offered to train with you, you thought it was a little funny to mess with him by a little bit.
You had superhuman strength and speed, so you always beat him in foot races and bench pressing.
"Huh?! No fair, I thought I would beat you this time!"
He's not a sore loser, however. He uses it as motivation.
"Well...! I'll just have to train even harder so that I can for sure catch up to you next time!"
If you think about it, you were technically helping him.
You also had a great amount of intelligence, and you used it to help Kaito with his astronaut needs. Calculations and such.
"Thanks, babe! You're the best! I can't wait to live out my dream with you!"

So I saw a The Good Place AU on ao3, rewatched the show and I had so many ideas for a different take on it like seriously !
So here's a bunch of the ideas I had bc I'm losing my mind at this
First of all : Warning, there's gonna be spoilers of season 1 and probably 2 of the show, please go watch it it's so good and funny.
So all the class are residents, except Tsumugi and Kiibo. Kiibo is the equivalent of Janet. Welcome to The Good Place, yaddy yaddy, except there are 3 bad apples : Ryoma, Maki and Kokichi.
Each one of them are given an identity that isn’t theirs and they’re trying to pull it off, for a while at least. When the day after their arrival chaos happen and they find themselves the only one without the “emergency suit”, Ryoma decide to tell Tsumugi and Kiibo, but Maki and Kokichi saw that he was a fraud too and kept him from giving himself away, because right now Tsumugi and Kiibo don’t know what’s causing all the chaos, but if Ryoma gives himself away, is sent to The Bad Place but chaos is still happening, they will know the other two are here. Ryoma ask them what’s their plan then, which Maki says they try to blend in. Try to BE good people. Kokichi doesn’t believe one bit of this but act like he does to convince Ryoma. And so begin their journey to becoming good people.
(more under the cut cause it’s kinda long)
Here a list of the soulmates btw (not ship, most of them are made for plot purpose)
Suichi Saihara | Kaede Akamatsu
Kaito Momota | Maki Harukawa
Tenko Chabashira | Korekiyo Shinguji
Ryoma Hoshi | Kirumi Tojo
Kokichi Ouma | Gonta Gokuhara
Himiko Yumeno | Miu Iruma
Angie Yonaga |  Rantaro Amami
But it turns out that trying to be a good person isn’t necessary instinctual for them, Ryoma is the one doing well but oh boy the other two are messes. Maki keeps menacing other people and her polite smile is so forced even Gonta knows it’s fake. Kokichi just keeps making pranks on the other residents because there’s no harm in a little prank (he just had problem adjusting to this new group and hates that he likes some of them so he pranks them so they get away from him and he doesn’t have to be vulnerable around them.)
Ryoma ends up sitting them down after a few days and telling them they need help. So they debate about who would be the best fit. They end up with Korekiyo, mostly because he studies human and they guess moral are part of humen so maybe he knows the best way to be a good person, plus the guy is lonely most of the time, doesn’t gossip and creepily study and takes note of the other residents.
They ask him and he accepts. He takes it as a new way to study human behaviour in a field he didn’t specialize during his life. (btw, here the characters are aged-up, they’re in their 20s so they can have more Life Knowledge:TM:). They chose to meet up at Korekiyo’s house to study because his soulmate, Tenko, hates his gut and never comes to visit; while the other three have way too caring soulmates that comes to visit them on a daily basis (Kaito being the more insistant, Gonta and Kirumi try to respect their personal boundaries but still, the gang doesn’t want to be interrupted by them, so at Korekiyo’s it is.
A little more about Tenko and Korekiyo. When Tsumugi introduced them to each other, Tenko was out of her mind. First, she’s a lesbian, second, she finds Korekiyo super creepy and has a bad feeling about him, worst than all other degenerate male she ever met (nevermind the fact that she says this every time she meets a new guy). Korekiyo is also unpleased by this arrangement, mainly because she’s a bit much for him. Tsumugi says soulmates aren’t always romantic, they can also take form in a strong companionship. Both are still skeptical when she leaves and basically avoid each other. Korekiyo also asked Tsumugi about other neighboorhood and if visiting is possible, since he would like to see his sister.
(Little point here, I doubt Korekiyo might be a serial killer here, he might have thought about it but never acted on it. He’s still pretty fucked up by the abuse his sister made him go through, but he also doesn’t recognise it as abuse yet, part of his character arc would be to come to term with that)
So ! The teaching is... Sure going. Korekiyo is good at teaching the theory but oh boy if he doesn’t suck at practice. They’re sure learning, but it’s still a trainwreck and Ryoma is the only reasonnable person in this house. They need a person who is a good person naturally, and wouldn’t go tell Tsumugi their situation...
Yeah they take a look at Gonta and it’s settled. The man is way too nice to everyone and “a true gentleman never tells friends secret to others !”. They thought about Angie for a moment, she seems nice with everyone and alwyas organise parties or artistic activities to unite everyone together, but she’s close friend with Tenko and Himiko so they doubt she would let Korekiyo hang out with her friends.
Gonta is not the best teacher. He tries his best, but even though he is nice and try his best to help everyone, he is also incredibly naive and can be mislead to do bad things pretty easily, which is what Kokichi proves within the first day his soulmate agrees to help them. They basically have a Insect Meet and Greet. Once Gonta understands he hurt his friends, he’s pretty sad and isolate himself. Ryoma would probably come talk to him. Gonta talks about how he didn’t act like a gentleman and he regrets it, which leads to a conversation about why he wants so badly to be a gentleman and their past life. Ryoma mentions how he didn’t have anything to live for back on earth, no family, no friends, no lovers. Gonta says he’ll make sure he does now, which makes Ryoma laugh. They grow closer after that, Gonta trying to spend more time with him.
Meanwhile, Kokichi is onto something. Since he arrived here, he felt like something was wrong. Tsumugi keeps saying they have no idea what’s causing all the chaos and there’s no way someone got here by accident ? Three frauds in one go ? That’s not right. So he investigates, everyone. Their past, their actions, their words, he wants to know everything and understand what is really this place. He doesn’t trust anyone. So he used the Insect Meet and Greet to find more info while everyone is busy. That’s when he’ll cross path with Shuichi, because he sneaked into his and Kaede’s house. Shuichi become suspicious of him from there on and they develop a kind of rivalry where Shuichi knows Kokichi is up to something but doesn’t know what, and Kokichi likes to mess with him. He also likes to mess with Kiibo to ask them a myriad of questions about everything and nothing.
Kokichi : Hi Kiiboy !
Kiibo : Not a boy, but hi (bc hell yes nb Kiibo and maybe this whole thing was based of my want to write this dialogue down, but who knows really)
MEANWHILE, Maki ends up hiding with Kaito who has been trying to talk to her for a while and now she can’t leave him because there are insects everywhere outside. They sit there for a while, Kaito trying to start a conversation, but getting frustrated because she doesn’t talk back until they both lash out. Maki insists she doesn’t want to make friends, especially with him and not on the basis of them being soulmates or whatever. She adds that he doesn’t want to be friend with her, trust her. He asks why but she doesn’t answers. So he starts all over again, straighten up and introduce himself again. “Name’s Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars and totally not your soulmate.” She sniggers and introduce herself. They chit-chat for a bit and once the insects are gone, they leave. They say goodbye and Maki avoids him a bit less after this.
The day after the Insect Meet and Greet, Kokichi arrive at Korekiyo’s home earlier than the others. He brags about how much of a shame it is that Gonta won’t work with them anymore, really it’s too bad. Except that when Ryoma arrives with Gonta in toe, his eyes are the size of saucers. In the days following, Kokichi still tries to use Gonta and make the giant hate him, which is slowly irritating Ryoma. He asks him why he keeps trusting Kokichi after everything he’s done, but Gonta says he believes Kokichi can become a good person, it’s actually the point of everything they’re doing. After a while Kokichi expends his pranks to the other frauds and Shuichi. That’s when it clicks for Korekiyo who goes to talk to him in private. He tries to ask him why he’s trying to get everyone who is close to him into hating him. Kokichi denies everything, just says it’s fun. Korekiyo just tells him it’s not doing him any good and they won’t hurt him if he let them get closer. He still prank them all, but it’s less mean.
There is also a point where the group wonder if Miu isn’t a fraud too because of her loud mouth. She’s super annoyed by the automatic swear words blocker. She’s so loud and don’t get along at all with her soulmate Himiko who finds her exhausting.
Also at some point, after Korekiyo began to understand that he was abused by his sister, Tsumugi reaches out to him. She give him a letter from his sister. She tells him visiting is not authorised yet, but she managed to negotiate postal communication just for him. He doesn’t take it well. At all. He has a mental breakdown, having flash-back and being terrorised of what to do with this letter. He doesn’t leave his home anymore and doesn’t answer to anybody, the group can’t have class with him. Everyone is getting worried and ends up asking Tenko for helps. They don’t really think he’ll talk to her but they really tried everything else. Himiko slides a word in their favor and Tenko agrees. She goes to the house, knocks and tells him to open. He doesn’t. She stays in front of the door for a while. After a few hours, Korekiyo finally asks what she wants. She says she wants to make sure he’s not dying or something. He says she heard his voice so now she knows he’s not dead, she can leave. But she doesn’t. She asks him to open the door, that it’s typical degenerate male behavior to lock themselves up and not face their emotions. She’s about to say he’s an idiot for making everyone worry like that, but the words die in her throat as the door opens and she sees her soulmate. He’s a mess. He lets her in. He sits down on the floor, she follows. After a few minutes she asks what’s going on. He tells her about how he recently found out what he always believed was false and maybe someone he cares a lot about actually hurt him a lot. He talks about his sister, about what he thought. He says he was wrong but don’t go in the details, he can’t for now. He cries and lose his composure again, which rings a billion alarms and raise his sister voice in his mind. Tenko instinctively reach her hand out and tries to stroke his hairs in a reassuring paterms. After a while, he calms himself and show her the letter, tells her he doesn’t know what to do. She takes it, rise to her feet and help him up. She goes to the chimney, light up a fire and give him back to him. “You don’t have to worry about this if it doesn’t exist anymore”. He let it falls into the flames and they both watch it burns until they are only ashes left.
Korekiyo still needs some time, but he slowly let the other back. Tenko also go to talk to Tsumugi, telling her to cut the postal communication thing. She seems disapointed but agrees.
After that they both start to get better. Tenko slowly try to have a better view on guys, she understands maybe not all of them are bad, like all women are perfect. Korekiyo is slowly opening up to others, slowly trying to move on from the abuse. It’s slow, for both of them, Tenko stops calling guys degenerate, but keeps the male, Korekiyo drops the hat, but keep the rest of the uniform. They’re making progress and supporting each other in little ways.
Maybe the cast of Danganronpa 2 can be the demons (you know bc of Ultimate despair and all, and maybe the survivors of the game can be the demons that would end up agreeing with the humans) but I didn’t thought too much on this.
ANYWAY that’s a few things in my mind. If some of you are interested I’ll probably answer questions about it or post more if I have ideas. Maybe draw, who knows ! Hope some of you liked my ideas

I realy like your analysis on the kaito-maki-shuichi relationship. So i was wondering who in your opinion has the best relationship dynamic within the cast?
Aaaa thanks! I'm more or less pleased with how it came out :D probably could be shorter though haha
-tech
As for the best dynamic... hmm.
Judging based on what I mentioned in the previous post about strengths being highlighted and weaknesses being dealt with in one way or another and believable emotional bonds that help each other, I'd have to say...
Kokichi and Gonta
For sure, it's gotta be them.
Narratively:
They are canonly a dynamic duo, working together and using their different strengths to help one another in areas the other is lacking in. It feels like they can both truly shine when they cooperate, and that's exactly how it should be.
It's very nice to see them work together because they both bring something different to the table that truly helps the other, and not always in ways you would expect at first glance. The brain and brawn thing is expected, but the extent to which they compliment each other is unparalleled by any other dynamic in the game.
Kokichi -> Gonta
Admittedly, Kokichi does less for Gonta narratively than Gonta does for Kokichi, but to be fair I would expect someone like Kokichi to be the one others help shine, not the other way around. Kokichi, as the Ultimate Leader, is more like the protagonist while Gonta is the supporting character.
For the most part though, Kokichi's narrative role relating to Gonta is to show us that Gonta isn't the happy-go-lucky himbo the rest of the cast thinks he is, allowing us to see that Gonta has depth, specifically that Gonta's morals are definitely different than what one would normally expect from someone with his personality.
The rest is something that relates more to their emotional bond, but for now I'll just say that Kokichi allows us to see Gonta's insecurities, flaws, and dedication to his friends (both the cast and Kokichi) and this improves Gonta's character immensely.
Gonta -> Kokichi
Gonta, as a character, shows us just how human Kokichi can be, especially during chapter 4 but also in little moments throughout the game as well. Whether it be lashing out at the others, being soft (like, so, so soft) with Gonta, his cooperation skills, or the depths of his sadness and loyalty, Gonta drags these reactions out of Kokichi one by one like it's his job, which it is! Narratively, Gonta's job is to allow us to see glimpses of what goes on in Kokichi's heart, something incredibly rare and precious to me.
Gonta also really allows Kokichi's ability to strategize and lead people to shine. Like, really shine. Chapter 4 was the best showcase of Kokichi's talent of leading people, but that's because he had Gonta following him. Any captain needs a crew and any Ultimate Leader needs helpful and supportive followers that believe in him. This goes alongside Kokichi's major weakness throughout the game.
Kokichi's biggest weakness is that he's placed himself into an antagonistic position. Seems smart, until you realize that hes the Ultimate Leader and he just alienated himself from literally everyone, losing any potential bonds/followers he could have made. He shot himself in the foot by forsaking some leadership options when he's the Ultimate Leader. It's the thing he's best at, but he put limits on himself anyway to protect everyone from Monokuma's attempts to break them apart.
He can still get the group to do what he wants, but it takes a considerable amount of effort on his behalf in order to do so. Gonta makes up for that by being the follower that Kokichi desperately needs. Gonta believes in Kokichi enough to go along with both of his plans, to the extent that he still goes along with them even they involve kidnapping and killing the other characters.
There's also the fact that Gonta's dedication to the others might've helped Kokichi decide to keep helping everyone, but I'll get more into that in a bit.
Emotionally:
This dynamic also makes a lot of sense from an emotional perspective. You can actually see why these two outcast characters would want to come together and hang out with each other, and why they view the other so positively: they are each other's ideals.
Kokichi -> Gonta
When Gonta needed a friend and someone to take him seriously/not dismiss him, Kokichi was there to hang out with him, seriously listen to him, and explain things to him that he didn't get the first time. Where the other kids were scared of him due to his size and talent, Kokichi had the confidence to ignore Gonta's natural intimidation and the kindness to hang out with Gonta, despite being so scared of bugs he literally foams at the mouth when they touch him.
Kokichi still regarded Gonta as a friend after that incident though, when most people (justifiably) would've held a grudge and cut him off. Gonta has some very obvious rage issues and reacts pretty impulsively to the things that upset him, but Kokichi is very patient with others, and almost forgiving to a fault at times, so he's willing to stick with Gonta and try and work through their problems instead of abandoning him. This would no doubt be something that Gonta desperately wanted from a friend, seeing as he's very self conscious about appearing as scary.
He loyally sticks by Gonta and readily offers advice, support, explanations, patience, etc... I mean the list goes on. I really do think that his relationship with Gonta is a showcase of how Kokichi would act around someone he really likes, like I'm talking about this being the basis for how I think Kokichi would act around DICE levels of emotional intimacy. I think this is Kokichi at his best, friendship wise. Especially because even during events that take place outside of the main story we never see Kokichi act this way around anyone else, even with the people I would also consider to be his friends (mainly Miu, but also sorta with Kiibo as well.)
They didn't know each other for long, but if you really look at it, it's plain to see that Kokichi really valued Gonta as a friend. I mean, I dont think someone who yells about wanting to live during his FTEs with Kaede would willingly offer to give his life for (no discernable goal) for just anyone y'know? Plus, throughout the game, he uses some of his friendliest and softest sprites during his conversations with Gonta. Even visually you can see their bond.
It's a very subtle relationship when compared to some of the more overt pairs throughout the game (aside from some key moments in chapter 4) but it's there, and honestly I can think of very few characters that share this close of a bond in the whole series game.
They actually kinda seem similar to Aoi and Sakura in a way, but somehow they compliment each other more... damn.
Gonta -> Kokichi
Likewise, Gonta also became Kokichi's friend and didn't seem to mind the lying at all, something that means a lot to Kokichi based on his Harmonious Heart Events, because it means that Gonta doesn't want to be friends with someone different, he wants Kokichi, lies and all. This is Kokichi's #1 wish.
I think that meant more to Kokichi than anything else, because this is his way of life. He leads with lies, he plays with lies, and he protects himself with lies too. He wants to keep lying and Gonta not being bothered by that is literally the exact thing that Kokichi yearns for in the best ending for his HHE.
Gonta also caught on to the times that Kokichi was extending olive branches and accepted him. It's subtle, but Kokichi did try and befriend people as long as he could do it without having to change himself and Gonta was one of the people that responded to that positively. Gonta readily befriended Kokichi, probably understanding first-hand what it's like to be an outcast because of misunderstandings and personality traits.
This is why Gonta's death (especially since Kokichi felt like he was fully responsible for it, despite what Gonta said) was so traumatic for Kokichi and why he reacts so negatively to it, he lost someone he never thought he would ever meet in the first place. More than a few of his dialogue lines have him imply that he's used to being hated for how he chooses to live his life and that he expects this kind of treatment from people, so finally finding someone who won't hate him for that and then losing that friend so quickly with his own plan had to have hurt immensely.
Going off that, Gonta is the one to convince Kokichi to remain friends with everyone and try his best for them despite how they treat him, and he also desperately begs for the others to do the same thing for Kokichi. He knew he was leaving Kokichi alone, and he wanted to try and protect him.
While the other members of the cast don't seem to remember this or care much about it after the whole "I'm the mastermind" bit, we do see Kokichi trying to protect the group after chapter 4 by trying getting rid of the motive to leave (therefore "ending" the killing game by making sure no one plays it) and by trying to remove Kaito, who has shown himself to be a harmful influence.
I think Gonta's words really got through to Kokichi, and while it did unfortunately lead to Kokichi dying for everyone's sake, Kokichi might not have tried to save everyone if it hadn't been for Gonta's last wishes. Why would Kokichi want to help people that actively hate him and bully him if not for the pleading of his greatest friend in the game telling him to keep protecting them.
In a sense, Kokichi during chapter 5 fulfills Gonta's original wish to be useful and protect everyone even at the cost of himself, with Kokichi doing exactly that.
Interested?
If you asked me for moments that I feel showcase their bond nicely so you can get a feel of it for yourself, I'd point you towards the dialogue they share during the 4th trial investigation and their meeting before the Insect Meet and Greet was very nice (you'll have to read between the lines for the former though!) If you want to see what I'm talking about, I would definitely recommend rewatching those. The moments prior to Gonta's execution are also always a good look at how much they meant to each other.
If you're really interested, I'd also recommend watching through their bonus content (LHEs, FTEs, HHEs, etc) and thinking about how their desires are reflected in each other, it's interesting to think about at the very least.
TL;DR?
Overall, they have an amazing, yet unsung, dynamic between the two of them and I would like to see more people recognize it. It's very brief and doesn't have a lot of story time, but it feels more meaningful than any of the "main" dynamics in the game with 10x the screentime. It has substance to it. It's satisfying and gratifying to watch.
It also makes fucking sense, unlike a particular dynamic that takes up a majority of the fucking story for nOTHING–

Byakuya, Nagito, Gundham, Kokichi, and Gonta reacting to their S/O getting picked on.
I shortened the title a bit, but here is the full prompt:
How would Byakuya, Nagito, Gundham, Kokichi, and Gonta react to an S/O who has autism, and makes animal noises when happy? And one day they're out in public and someone makes fun of them so much they start crying?
I had a lot of fun writing this, it was a super sweet request!
- Mod Ri
Byakuya:
He’d do anything in his power for you, it didn’t matter how big or how small the task was, Byakuya would do anything to make his dear S/O happy.
When you were happy, you make sweet little animal noises. In turn, this made Byakuya truly happy, since he knew when you were happy and got to hear your pristine voice.
If someone ever made fun of you, oh boy. Byakuya wasn’t one to start a verbal argument in public, but he didn’t hold back when it came to his famous ‘rich boy glare’™, and the aura he radiated was extremely formidable, yet you felt safer than ever stood behind him.
But it could all be too much sometimes, and the jeers and insults would get to you, causing you to break down and cry.
How dare someone make his S/O cry!
With one last glare, he’ll take you out of the situation and back to safety.
Once you get home, his cold façade drops almost immediately, as he holds you close and whispers sweet words to you.
It genuinely irks him when people make fun of you. Can’t they see just how perfect you are?
He’ll pamper you for the rest of the day, making sure to remind you just how wonderful you are.
“You shouldn’t listen to those people; they have no right to talk about you. I’ll always be here with you, so you have no need to worry.”
 Nagito:
Where to even begin? Nagito adored you, every single detail about you. You were his shining hope and he’d defend you until the bitter end if he had to.
In his eyes, you were basically a goddess and he was ecstatic that someone like you would spend time with him, let alone be in a relationship with him.
He couldn’t comprehend why some people would make fun of you and he often found himself wondering if their minds were tainted with such powerful despair that blinded them to the obvious hope standing in front of them.
If someone where to ever make the mistake of making fun of you in front of Nagito, they’d better be prepared for one long and tedious conversation.
It was perfectly normal for Nagito to monologue about hope and not giving into despair by picking on his S/O. He’ll get lost in the moment and is normally pulled back to reality by someone getting physical with him or the person he was talking to just walking away.
Now, be prepared to be spoilt for the rest of the day. If you want to stay out, Nagito will take you anywhere you’d like and buy you everything that catches your eye.
He’ll keep your hand held tightly in his as you both walk around, but if you want to go home, he totally understood.
At home the white-haired boy will take you straight to your shared room and cuddle with you on the bed, all the while making a point of telling you how perfect you are.
In return this made you extremely happy and you’d let out a few small mewls, which made Nagito very glad.
“Ah, I love you so much S/O! You’re the light of my life!”
 Gundham:
Gundham could be quite… odd at times, but all his talk about otherworldly beings didn’t stop him from loving you in the slightest.
He referred to you as the “feared demon queen”, which you loved. You knew he had somewhat of an obsession with the occult, so being equivalent to the demon queen in his eyes surely meant he cared about you to a great extent.
Whenever you were happy, you’d make a variety of animal noises, ranging from a small bark to a soft squeak. Sometimes the Devas would respond with their own exited squeaks, much to Gundham’s delight.
He was glad you could get along with his beloved Devas and was even happier that they’d communicate with you, it was just more proof that his S/O was the true demon queen!
All hell was bound to break loose if anyone dared speak ill about you. It was if Gundham had literally opened a gate to the underworld, his aura switched from sweet and gentle to fierce and intimidating in the blink of an eye.
One time, Gundham had left you for a few minutes to go and grab something from a nearby store, you agreed to wait for him since he told you it was a birthday surprise for you! What he didn’t expect was to find you in tears upon returning.
You’d explained everything that has happened in his short absence and obviously the demon lord himself was enraged, but for now, he had to focus his energy on cheering his precious S/O up.
He’d take you home and sit you down on the sofa, letting you hold the fluffy Devas for comfort.
A hot drink and many cuddles with Gundham (and the Devas!) later, and you’ll be back to your cheery demeanour in no time.
“S/O, my cherished Demon Queen! This was intended for your birthday, but I’d like to bestow it upon you in this moment if you’d allow it.”
He pulled out a glimmering silver box which contained a magnificent silver band for your wrist. Apparently, it would connect your souls to one another, to keep each other close, even when apart.
With a high-pitched squeak, you flung your arms around his neck.
He held on to you tightly as the Devas squeaked back in happiness, thinking that you were communicating with them.
 Kokichi:
He found you super cute, like super high school level cute.
He’d fuss over you often, and people liked to joke about him being surgically attached to you. The reason he stayed so close to you, was that people had hurt you emotionally in the past, and there was no way Kokichi would allow that to happen whilst he was around.
You were walking hand in hand through the mall, just having a good time. Holding Kokichi’s hand made you super happy, so you would quietly mewl and squeak in delight every now and again.
One time when you did this, a random passer-by just happened to hear you mewling and smiling and Kokichi. Let’s just say that passer-by wasn’t a nice person and began to make fun of you, completely ignoring Kokichi’s presence – big mistake.
Kokichi’s way to get people to leave you alone was to threaten to ‘get dice to come after them’. However, nobody had the faintest idea what ‘dice’ was, so it was a pretty ineffective tactic.
The person being confronted by Kokichi would often just leave on their own accord, being unable to take the furious purple-haired boy seriously.
“S/O don’t cry. That’s lame, silly!”
When Kokichi realised that you were genuinely upset, he grabbed your hand and whirled you home.
Plan: ‘Make Happy’ was in full swing. He sat you down on the sofa and put on his favourite comedy for you to watch.
He sat down with you and pulled you closer to him, hoping you'd lay down and cuddle with him.
Truthfully, you needed a good cuddle, and who better to receive them from than the ultimate supreme leader himself?
He was glad to see your mood lift when you started quietly humming along to some of the songs featured throughout the show.
"Hey, S/O, wanna go prank Kiiboy?"
An excellent idea. You both got up and devised the perfect plan together.
This was going to be one fun day!
Gonta:
Gonta didn't fully understand the concept of autism, but he loved and treasured you nonetheless. You were extremely precious to him.
Truth be told, he found your way of expressing happiness to be absolutely adorable.
Whenever you were both together, people never seemed to pick on you. It was likely that they were intimidated by Gonta's large and muscular figure.
However, when Gonta wasn't around, people would normally pick on you if you were to express your happiness.
Tears streaming down your face, you'd run home to Gonta, collapsing into his loving embrace once you'd arrived.
He'd quickly take to comforting you. Caressing your hair, cuddling with you, or just sitting with you, Gonta would do anything if it meant you'd cheer up.
When you'd eventually cheer up, he'd offer to take you out for a picnic. You both lived together beside a beautiful forest, which was the perfect location for romantic picnics.
With a quick nod, you'd jump up and go prepare. You liked to help Gonta cut up little sandwiches, savouring every single second you spent together.
Upon arrival, you'd rather hastily plop down on the checkered blanket Gonta had brought, and began taking in the gorgeous surroundings.
Getting to spend time with Gonta was always the highlight of your day, and usually overshadowed anything bad that had happened previously in the day.
"S/O, look! A butterfly, it reminds Gonta of you!"
You watched happily as a petite Chalk Hill Blue butterfly danced through the air, until it decided to rest on a nearby flower.
A mewl of happiness escaped your lips as a few more flew past, their enchanting blue wings fluttering in the breeze.
Carefully, you moved closer to the insect and reached your hand out to it. It made its way onto your index finger, as another mewl of delight left your lips.
Then you slowly turned back around to show your beloved boyfriend, a wide grin present on your face.
"Gonta thinks S/O is the perfect partner!"

Beta AU - Main story: Chapter 2, daily life (Part 1)
Note of the author: Gay. And actually some nice stuff. I won’t cover the entire daily life part, as you probably guessed from the title. It turns out the daily life part was longer than I expected, so it will be in 3 parts.
A thing I forgot to add was where the labs are placed. I updated the info page so you can see where the opened labs are.
Chapter 2: The wolf and the lamb - Daily life
Day 5 since the beginning of the game. 7 AM.
Shuichi had trouble sleeping that night, the vision of Gonta’s corpse and Tenko brutally dying was playing on loop in his mind.
He saw the first rays of sunshine through his window and decided to stop trying to sleep. Perhaps he could try playing a soothing song in his lab, that would make him feel better, he hopes.
After taking a shower and getting dressed up, he left his room. The morning announcement was in an hour, but he needed to go out. He went down the stairs and noticed Kaede leaving her room as well. She had a faint smile on her face, but Shuichi could tell she hadn’t sleep well either.
“Good morning, Kaede.”
“Good morning!”
“Good morning…”
A third voice made its entrance. It was Maki. The three decided to go to Shuichi’s lab, after he suggested them to go there for some time before the morning announcement.
Shuichi was slowly mentally waking up, meanwhile Maki and Kaede were chatting behind him. Kaede was complimenting Maki on her ability to help in the trial, but Maki brushed it off as basic tailor knowledge.
But the moment they opened the main door, they were met with an indescribable sight.
One of the Monokubs, Monokid, was there, completely destroyed, and so presumably dead. The robot's foot was hanging from a rope and the rest of his body in small pieces scattered across the floor, with small traces of blood around it.
They stood there, completely baffled by what they were seeing. The rules stated that any type of violence against the headmaster was prohibited, but did that include the Monokubs? Who even was able to-
Shuichi’s thoughts were interrupted when Monokuma popped up out of nowhere.
“Boohoo! My precious Monokid, destroyed and shattered to pieces! Such despair!”
Kaede panicked. “N-none of us actually did this I-”
“Nah, Monodam did it.”
She blinked. “Huh?”
The bear didn’t look shaken up at all. “He was babbling about everyone getting along and Monokid getting in the way, so he destroyed him.”
Maki rolled her eyes. “What a father you are.”
Monokuma shrugged. “Hey, Monokid wanted to include him in miss hero karateka’s execution, but SOMEONE can’t do their job properly!”
Shuichi was extremely confused. The monokubs were killing each other? That would be for the best, but who knows what they have in mind.
“Anyway, shoo! I gotta clean this mess.” he grumbles. “Kids these days...”
They left without saying a word. They would have to explain once everyone was there. Or perhaps that wouldn’t be necessary if Monokuma decided to do the job himself.
When they arrived at the violinist’s lab, Shuichi asked if they had a specific song in mind, but Kaede told him to play the song he wants to play. After all it was his idea to play some music. And besides, neither she nor Maki were music experts.
Shuichi went through some of the music sheets before finding one of his favorite pieces.
He placed it on the desk and sat down to play. Unfortunately that was a song not meant for violin solos, and was often played by both a pianist and a violinist. But that didn’t matter. Shuichi wanted to play a song to calm both himself and the girls down. Not to perform like the whole world was watching.
(BGM)
Kaede smiled and took out a notebook to start writing. Maki closed her eyes and let herself get lost in her thoughts.
When the song ended, Shuichi looked at the two girls. Maki was sleeping on Kaede’s shoulder and the other girl was violently blushing and unable to write anything down. She looked at the boy with distress written on her face.
Shuichi chuckled. “Do you want to wake her up?”
Kaede was a blushing mess. “I- uh…” she took a deep breath. “To be honest I don’t mind her sleeping on my shoulder. It… Feels kind of nice actually.” she wrapped her fingers around the sleeping girl’s. “I think I’m gonna stay here for a while. I want to enjoy my time here even though it’s not exactly the best situation.”
She rested her head on Maki’s. “And even if I were to die here, I at least want to be with the people I love.”
Shuichi smiled. He was happy for them. But he felt sad remembering the situation they are in.
He left the room to give the girls some space. They would probably be woken up by the morning announcement, but at least they would have enjoyed their time in his lab, he thinks.
He went outside to get some fresh air and noticed Kokichi sitting on the grass, looking at nothing in particular, so he decided to join him.
However the smaller boy got startled by the taller one’s sudden appearance. Shuichi apologized and Kokichi brushed it off, that it was just him being himself. The violinist noticed him stepping back to make some space between them, even though they weren’t that close.
After some silence, Shuichi tried to start a conversation. “You and Himiko look rather close, did you two become friends?”
The first reaction of the boy in black was to raise the collar of his sweater above his nose to hide his face. “I… Yeah, you could say that. She is nice to me, but I don’t know why.”
Shuichi thought for a second. “Himiko looks genuinely kind, compassionate and energetic, it feels like she wants to share this positivity, perhaps that’s why she hangs out with you.”
Kokichi didn’t seem to agree, but decided not to respond.
After a moment of silence Kokichi got up and brushed off the dirt on his sweater. “I just needed some fresh air, I’ll go back to my room.” he didn’t even wait for Shuichi’s answer to leave.
He sighed. He didn’t know if it was because he said something wrong, if Kokichi didn’t like him or simply because he was shy, but Shuichi was a bit troubled by the end of the conversation. He hadn’t heard much from him, but he could tell he needed some help. He hoped Himiko was helping him in some way.
Shuichi decided to go to the dining hall, to give a hand with the breakfast if possible.
Kirumi was alone in the kitchen, cutting some apples with a precision that was almost scary. The way she held the knife to cut the fruits was almost hypnotic.
“Do you need anything?” she asked, snapping him out of his thoughts. In hindsight her gaze was terrifying.
“Ah- no actually. I was wondering if you needed any help with the breakfast.”
She got back to cutting the apples and simply replied “I am a maid. It’s my duty to make those tasks.”
Shuichi wanted to respond, but she probably wouldn’t take no as an answer. He left to go to the dining hall, where actually no one was there.
The morning announcement played, and Shuichi just rubbed his eyes. The others started coming as well.
Kirumi brought the food and drinks, to serve everyone. She had remembered by now what was everyone’s favorite food. Shuichi got his blueberry pancakes, but decided to wait for Kaito and Rantaro, who weren’t here yet.
It didn’t take long for them to arrive. Kaito looked a bit tired, but that was to be expected from what happened the day before.
Rantaro, Miu, Kaito and Shuichi ate in silence, mostly because no one had any conversation subject in mind.
Soon after, Monokuma showed up. Claiming it was to give a prize for surviving the first class trial.
If looks could kill, Kirumi and Ryoma would have destroyed the robotic bear as soon as he showed up.
Keebo let out a robotic sigh. “Just get to the point. Even though this doesn’t concern me, the others would like to eat in peace.”
The rest of the Monokubs showed up as well with of course everyone noticing the blue one’s absence. After another petty argument, they gave the rewards, which were “a dragon gem, an ocarina, an ancient passport and a hexagonal crank from some zombie game” as they put it.
The bears left soon after. Shuichi was holding the ocarina to inspect it. That looked like a real one, at least.
Rantaro suggested they went to inspect the academy in groups, to see if there were anymore hints about their whereabouts. He suggested 4 groups, one for each item.
Shuichi was leading the group with the ocarina, which were himself, Kaito and Miu.
Tsumugi, Ryoma, Kirumi and Keebo decided to take care of the passport.
Korekiyo, Angie, Maki and Kaede would investigate the crank.
Rantaro led the last group with the dragon gem. His partners were Kokichi, Himiko and Angie.
After finishing their breakfast they began to investigate.
They decided to look outside since two groups were already indoors. They later found a building that looked abandoned, but had a a sign with notes in front of it. Shuichi may not be an ocarina expert, but he could try playing the notes. After a few tries he managed to get it right, and the plant covering the door withered away, to the other two’s surprise.
The building was a pool, according to the entrance sign.
Miu smiled. “Nice! We could do a pool party sometime!”
Kaito winced at the remark. “Yeah.... Without me.”
“Come on... I’m sure you have a sexy body underneath that shirt...”
Kaito’s eyes widened at the flirty response. “What?? My body is fine, but back off! I just don’t like swimming!”
She chuckled. “Is it because you can’t swim, then?”
“No! I just said I don’t *like* swimming!”
The two bickered for some time before Shuichi fake-coughed to get their attention.
“Perhaps we should look inside.”
The pool area had a nice warm and modern aesthetic, and had surprisingly less weeds than the exterior let believe. Miu whistled in admiration.
“Damn, damn! That looks good, but it might as well become my playground!”
Shuichi raised an eyebrow. “Huh? Is swimming one of your passions?”
She laughed. “Nah, but look at this!” she extended her arms, to show the walls around them. “That’s a perfect canvas for me! I’m a street artist, it’s my job to paint the entire walls just as I please!”
Kaito looked skeptic. “Won’t Monokuma count it as vandalizing? Is it in the school rules?”
Before Miu could think about a response, the four remaining monokubs appeared out of nowhere. The yellow one talked first.
“Painting the walls isn’t considered vandalizing, nor it is against the school rules.”
The pink one continued. “However if you do vandalize as in destroying or removing equipment, it will be replaced!”
The red one pointed at the set of rules they hadn’t noticed. “Also, swimming at nighttime is against the rules! Even touching the water is prohibited!”
Monosuke shrugged. “It would be unfortunate for someone to have an accident involving someone drowning.”
Shuichi imagined it was because it would be “boring” for them to have a class trial where someone just drowned by themselves.
The bears left. The three friends looked at each other. “Now what?”
They decided to get the others to see if they were successful in their research. They found Tsumugi’s team but Kirumi was missing. They had just found out that Kirumi’s lab opened, but she didn’t want the others to disrupt her while she was rearranging her stuff. They had found it strange but the lab didn’t look suspicious from what they saw.
They decided to help Rantaro’s group since they were the closest to them and the passport only gave access to one lab.
They found Rantaro in his own lab, that just opened. It wasn’t the largest, but still had 3 minimalist beds, a few shelves that Rantaro was exploring and a large work space. He noticed the group and waved at them.
“So, have you guys found anything? Come in if you want.”
Perhaps seven people were a bit much in the lab, so the rest of Tsumugi’s group decided to find the others from Rantaro’s group in the meantime.
The three others stepped in the lab and looked around. The lab had this ruined aspect, but more because it was deliberately damaged than abandoned like the rest of the school.
Shuichi looked at the shelf Rantaro was going through. “What type of products are in there?”
Rantaro put a white plastic bottle back where it was from. “Mostly emergency stuff medics use. Bandages, crutches, a lot of disinfectant products, medical alcohol and tools for emergency surgeries.”
Kaito looked a bit worried. “You think anything in there could be used to... You know...”
The medic scratched the back of his neck. “If you’re talking about the chemical products nothing can exactly kill you if taken in a small dose, so don’t even try. I would notice if something went missing from my lab. Also...”
He took a small bottle, opened it and approached it to Kaito’s nose. “That stuff smells a lot. It’s easy to tell when it’s in your plate or drink.”
Kaito backed off pretty quickly.
“So unless you decide to drink an entire bottle by yourself, you should be fine.”
Suddenly, Himiko ran to them with Kokichi by her side. “Miu! You’re here!”
She got up. “What is it, twinkle?”
The smaller girl smiled. “Your lab is open! Kaede’s lab is open too but since she’s not here yet...”
The street artist’s eyes widened. “For real? C’mon let’s go!” she almost ran off.
Once arrived, they saw the spacious room that was Miu’s lab. She looked around in awe the empty walls waiting to be filled. The walls were light grey and the room was well illuminated by the neon lights on the ceiling.
“I think I’m in heaven.” her sparkly eyes made Rantaro chuckle.
“There’s a door right here, is there a second room?”
They turned to the door with a window in the middle. Himiko shrugged. “We didn’t check since it’s not our lab.”
From what they were seeing, it looked like some kind of chemical lab. her eyes widened. “No way... Is that...”
She opened the door to get a better look, and got overjoyed by this room. Everyone else was quite confused, except for Kaito, apparently.
“Miu, what is this?” Kokichi asked her.
She laughed. “You uncultured swine! Remember that I make my own fluorescent paint!” she pointed her thumb to her face with a proud grin. “That’s what makes my work different from the others.”
She went the shelf in the corner of the room and opened it. It was full of colorants and chemical products that Shuichi assumed to be the ingredients used to make the paint she was talking about.
“It’s perfect.” she says.
Rantaro took one of the bottles and examined it. “I understand why your lab has this part in it. But that stuff doesn’t look safe to manipulate.”
She flicked the boy’s nose, snatched the bottle with two fingers and took a few steps away. “You don’t have to worry about it, sweetie.” She turned her head to him. “You’re talking to ‘the firefly of the city’ in person. That stuff is child’s play for me now.”
Kokichi didn’t look reassured at all. “Still... An accident can happen really easily.”
Himiko put her hand on his shoulder and smiled. “I think we should trust her with her stuff. She seems to know what she’s doing.”
After the street artist’s lab it was time to check the other labs. When they left the lab they met the last group who was done checking with the crank.
Apparently the area behind a wall was opened now, with a casino and a love hotel.
Miu chuckled. “Damn, does that bear wants us to kill each other or to fuck each other?”
Korekiyo sighed. “At this point I feel like I should stop wondering what his intentions are.”
They decided to join the rest of the group to Kaede’s lab. It looked similar to the library, but it had a warmer atmosphere, and a large desk in the middle. The lab looked like a library that would belong in a fantasy novel.
They were about to close their research, until Tsumugi showed up, panting.
“There’s... One last lab that opened.”
Rantaro raised an eyebrow. “We scanned the entire building, are you saying there was a hidden room?”
She shook her head. “No it’s... Another building.”
They went outside and noticed that there was, indeed, a new building, not so far from the shrine of judgement. It looked like a cottage, which was weird when you compared it to the rest of the buildings.
“Have you seen which lab it was?” Shuichi asked. She didn’t even look at the him.
“It’s better to show you in person.”
After a short walk they stood before the building and Tsumugi opened the door.
It was Gonta’s lab.
The room was invaded by plants, there were shelves filled with books and other shelves had animal skulls and bones it it. It sent a shiver down Shuichi’s spine, but that was to be expected for a zoologist.
The lab would have made Gonta happy, but he wasn’t there anymore. Now it was just this empty building that looked like a hunter’s shack.
No one was sure about what they should do with the lab, so Rantaro suggested they should leave it as it is, just like Tenko’s lab.
After a moment of silence, Angie asked for the attention of the group. When she was exploring the second floor, she found a treasure chest with some sort of flashlight in it. Since she didn’t know what to do with it she asked Monokuma to help her, to everyone else’s dismay.
After she said that, a bell ringed and Monokuma appeared on the monitors of Gonta’s lab.
“This is an important announcement! Everyone, please gather at the gym!”
The screen shut off almost instantly. They had no choice but to do as the bear said.
Once at the gym, Monokuma showed up as well with the peculiar flashlight. He explained it was a flashback light, and would be used to help them recover their memories.
Shuichi glanced at Rantaro, who looked already annoyed. “It’s already your fault our memories are lost. Why should we trust you about this and why on earth would a flashlight help us recover memories?”
The bear laughed. “Aww, I bet there were a lot of naysayers and skeptics when the telephone was invented too.”
“That’s not the point.”
“The flashback light can treat various symptoms of memory loss, the light it emits stimulates the basal ganglia and hippocampus. Not just that, but physical-”
He interrupted himself. “Explications are boring, but basically it works like that.” he disappeared right after.
“Now hold on a sec-” Rantaro didn’t even finish his sentence.
Shuichi crossed his arms. “Do you think we should use it, Rantaro?”
The green haired teen picked up the flashback light and examined it. He took a few seconds to think about an answer. “That flashlight looks extremely fishy, not gonna lie.”
Ryoma rolled his eyes. “Duh. It’s Monokuma giving it to us. But we won’t be able to investigate anything if we don’t take risks. Unless you have any clue on how to use a goddamn pool at our advantage.”
Rantaro sighed. “As much as I hate to admit he’s right.”
Miu looked skeptical, but agreed. “I can’t tell anything since I know nothing about human anatomy but I trust you.”
The others agreed as well, and Angie turned on the flashlight.
The memories flowed through their brains, and after what felt like an eternity the world went back to normal. Everyone was shocked by what they remembered.
Erasing their own memories... Fleeing because of the ultimate hunt... But not being able to remember why they were being chased in the first place.
Shuichi was extremely disturbed. He remembered running and running, but felt frustrated because he had no idea why. The flashback light didn’t give all the info they wanted. He looked at the “leader” of the group to get his opinion.
Rantaro looked like he had seen something way more traumatizing.
There was this mix of confusion and anger on his face that scared Shuichi at first. he closed his eyes, took a deep breath and stood straight.
“I’m guessing everyone saw the same thing?” he asked the group.
“If we’re talking about fleeing the ultimate hunt, then yes. However I am unable to remember why we were the targets.” Keebo replied.
Tsumugi put a finger on her chin. “There is a possibility we were fleeing this killing game targeted for us ultimates, and we lost.”
Hoshi huffed. “That wouldn’t even surprise me at this point.”
Korekiyo narrowed his eyes. “Erasing our memories so we wouldn’t become targets anymore for this twisted game.”
Angie extended her arms in joy. “Let’s talk about the positive news! At least we know why we’re here!”
Maki crossed her arms. “Those are just speculations. We don’t know for sure.”
Kaede smiled at her. “But that’s one more step in our investigation!”
That didn’t seem to reassure a lot of them, though.
Kirumi suggested they should try to calm down and think about this over a meal.
They agreed and walked to the dining hall. Shuichi overheard a conversation between Keebo and Kirumi, with the maid asking him how did he even recover memories, since the flashlight was functioning for humans. Keebo was confused at first, but explained that his vision was simply an artificial version of the humans’, which was probably why he remembered as well.
After a calm lunch, they left in separate ways to do their activities.
Miu and Kaito were in the street artist’s lab, presumably painting.
Maki was sewing in her lab. Tsumugi and Angie were here too, probably to keep her company.
Kaede, Kokichi and Himiko were at the casino, for some reason.
Kirumi and Korekiyo were relaxing in the maid’s lab. Now that Shuichi thought about it, he hadn’t seen what the lab looked like yet.
Rantaro and Ryoma were in the medic’s lab, but judging by Rantaro’s mood earlier, he preferred not to disturb him.
That left Keebo, who was in Gonta’s lab, for some reason.
Shuichi and Keebo were not exactly friends, but that was an opportunity for him to get to know the robot better.
When the violinist arrived, Keebo was staring at nothing in particular. He was like frozen in place.
“Keebo?”
He didn’t move.
“Um... Keebo?”
He put a hand on his shoulder. The robot got startled and emitted some strange noise before actually talking.
“Sorry, it looks like my circuits went off for a second.”
Shuichi shook his head. “No, it’s alright. Are you okay though?”
He smiled. “Yes, I’m okay. I sometimes space out like this, nothing to worry about.”
Shuichi looked around. “Why were you in Gonta’s lab though?”
Keebo gently passed his fingers on one of the shelves not to damage anything. “I don’t really know. I wanted to know more about him. What he was into. And I thought the lab would give me a clue about this.”
He opened one of the windows and took on of the smaller skulls, which looked like it belonged to a rodent.
Shuichi was curious. “Do you think these are real?”
The robot gave him the skull. “I cannot tell, since my sense of touch is not very developed.”
He took the skull and brushed his fingers on it. “Those are replicas. It’s plaster, I think.”
“I see.”
They put back the skull and left the lab. They sat on the ground and talked to pass the time. It was mostly them comparing their ways to live, as a robot and a human. At rare occasions the robot would lag for a bit, even if it was just for a few seconds. Perhaps that was the reason he didn’t call himself the ultimate robot.
~ I’m bad at Free time events episode 1, just consider it’s the evening now ~
Everyone ate dinner more or less separately, to Kirumi’s dismay. Himiko assured her that she didn’t need to stay the entire time, and that it was okay for her to take a break. The maid sighed and left the dining hall, saying she will be in her lab if anyone needed anything.
Shuichi ran up to her when no one was looking.
“What is it, Shuichi?” she didn’t seem mad or anything. Perhaps it was just her natural aura that was frightening.
“Um... Could I visit you lab if you’re okay with it? I was curious since I didn’t even get to see it.” he was more worried that she was hiding something, but he decided not to say that.
Kirumi looked like she was analyzing his expression to see what his intentions were.
“Sure. Follow me.”
The more he walked alongside her, the more worried he became. A part of him was begging him to run away and pretend nothing ever happened, but he couldn’t bring himself to do so.
When the two arrived at the door, Shuichi unconsciously held his breath.
“You look tense. Are you okay?”
The question startled him. “Ah!- Sorry, I’m fine, don’t worry.”
She opened the door. The lab looked like a dining hall from a Gothic mansion, it was not very illuminated. The furniture looked fancy, with expensive plates and glasses exposed.
“Is there anything you needed to see?” she asked.
Shuichi looked around. “What even are in those drawers? We got the everything necessary in the kitchen after all.”
She approached one of the drawers and opened it. “It’s mostly fancier than in the kitchen. I’m guessing that would be to fit a certain ‘aesthetic’, like in the others’ lab. It’s not uncommon for me to work in those large mansions.”
Shuichi chuckled. “You too, huh?”
She raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
“I’m used to perform private concerts in rich people’s homes. It’s the type of wealth I’ll probably never achieve.”
The maid sighed. “Sometimes I do wish to take a break. My job can be really exhausting when it comes to certain types of clients.”
He faintly smiled. “I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to be a maid full time, but performing for hours for two or three people at most isn’t easy, even with experience.”
“I understand.”
She thought for a few seconds. “Please do not take offense in what I say, but I can see that you lack confidence, whether it is about leading the group or simply in social interactions.”
A shiver went down Shuichi’s spine. “Do I?”
Her eyes widened. “Oh, pardon me if this sounded strange. Those are just the impressions the class trial gave me. What I meant is...”
She paused for a second, then sighed. “If... Another class trial occurs, perhaps the culprit won’t be as merciful as Tenko. Perhaps cornering them would be necessary, and being passive would lead to nothing.”
“For a reason I can’t point out, the others followed your lead, so I did as well. But I suggest you work on your confidence.”
“Of course we shouldn’t rely on you too much, I know that better than anyone else as a maid. But that would also help the group in those hard times.”
Shuichi didn’t know how to respond. That sounded right, but he was surprised nonetheless. “Thanks a lot, Kirumi.”
He waved at her and left her lab. He exhaled a deep breath he didn’t know he was holding. Perhaps he could talk to Kaito about this, he who seemed really confident in himself. But the nighttime announcement was approaching, and according to his monopad, Kaito was already in his room, so perhaps the next day would be better.
Shuichi took a shower and let himself fall onto his bed. Tomorrow would be another day.

Can I ask a hc where all the v3 boys go and play acnh w their s/o?? Ty and good luck with your blog!!
Wow,  this took way to long sorry for the wait. Also sorry some of them are short, I hope you enjoy this thank you for sending an ask!
Tumblr media
The Drv3 boys playing ACNH with their S/O
Rantaro Amami:
He finds the game adorable and likes the whole aesthetic of it.
However, he barely plays it without their S/O, whether it’s visiting each other's islands or just sitting in a room together focusing on their own islands.
It’s their shared game together, and it doesn’t feel the same playing without them.
You two tend to talk casually as you play. Just talking about whatever came to your minds, only interrupted by the quick curse of being knocked out by a dangerous insect.
His favorite part is finding new additions to his museum and loves showing it to you (And sometimes asking you to trade for fish/bugs/fossiles he doesn’t have yet)
He also likes exploring other islands with his Nook miles tickets and often brings back items for himself and gifts to give you
He makes his character look like himself, however, he’ll wear any flower you give him in his hair.
His favorite villagers are Cherry and Hazel.
Cherry mostly because of her aesthetic and Hazel because after seeing how much people considered her “ugly”, he went “Well guess I’ll protect this now” and kept her on his island.
Kokichi Ouma:
Despite your first impression, Kokichi actually likes the game!
He’ll play with you, but most times it ends up with you sitting next to each other silently while you communicate through the game
Mostly because you both found out there’s no filter in the game’s chat and you can curse as much as you please.
Plus you both find it funny when Kokichi’s character turns to you and says “bitch” when you catch a fish and he doesn’t.
He’s in on the turnup market and sells ONLY at the highest possible price
You two trade your fruit all the time so they can sell for double as well.
He barely tries making his character looking anything like him. He just wears the most egregious outfits, involving mismatching and neon colors. Criticizing him only makes it worse.
He says his favorite villager is Redd and that he's deeply invested in his supposed “divorce” with Tom Nook.
He tells you all the time about it.
Kokichi: I know the details of the drama. S/O: You don’t know shit. Kokichi: I know everything.
He unironically likes Pietro though. For obvious reasons.
Gonta Gokuhara:
You got him the game as a gift and for a few days you had to teach him how to play
Not just ACNH, but how to play a video game in general
You mostly just stood behind him at first, your arms around his shoulders as he sat and played, with you explaining along with pointing at the screen occasionally to help him out
Eventually, he gets the hang of it and it’s great!
Gonta obviously loves loves LOVES the bug-catching aspect
He collects them for his museum and to keep in his house, he never sells them
He gets a little sad sometimes when Blathers reacts negatively to his bugs, and you just have to remind him that he’s just scared and that he doesn’t hate his bugs.
If you find a tarantula or scorpion on your island while he’s visiting, he’ll catch them for you. He’s very skilled at it.
Gonta also likes to talk to his villagers in real life through the screen, saying a nice “Hello!” or “Excuse Gonta!” as he passes by them.
Other times he’ll respond genuinely to what they have to say.
He loves all his villagers, but he does have a specific soft spot for Goldie and Isabelle.
Shuichi Saihara:
He decided to get the game and play with you after watching you tend to your island for some time
He plays quite often and sometimes you can catch him playing it late at night.
You’ll walk to the living room sometimes you’ll see him sitting on the couch playing it.
Or you’ll also be up late and see he’s online on your friend's list
Either way, you always get upset about how late he’s up.
Shuichi is sure to always be nice to his villagers.
Giving them gifts and always increasing their friendship level.
When playing with his S/O he explores islands with them, he tries to catch tarantulas but fails and gets knocked out constantly.
Shuichi’s favorite villagers are Dotty and Kiki.
Kaito Momota:
Kaito doesn’t play a whole lot when he’s alone, but he’ll play if his S/O asks him too
When playing with his S/O he likes to cuddle up to them and talk about what he’s doing, he has a tendency to ramble.
He’s scared of the tarantulas so you like to poke fun at him.
His island isn’t very decorated, he doesn’t have a lot of flowers because anytime Kokichi would come over he’d stomp on them.
His favorite villager is Dom because of the jock personality
Kiibo:
You introduced the game to Kiibo and he almost instantly fell in love with it.
His favorite thing to do is decorate his island.
His home is the place of his dreams, which includes a windchime of course.
He sometimes invites Kokichi to his island with you and always regrets it every time.
One time you had to scold Kokichi when he stomped on Kiibo’s flowers
Matina is one of his favorite villagers in the game.
He finds her fascinating because she is one of the few sea-dwelling villagers.
Plus he thinks that the sweater she wears is very cute.
The next runner up for his favorite is Maple.
Kiibo gets sad when he misses his villagers sometimes.
He cares about them enough that he has reminders on a calendar when all their birthdays are.
It's quite adorable. Especially when he asks if you can join in on the festivities.
Ryoma Hoshi:
He had actually been secretly playing the game for some time until he found out you played too
I mean, he had a tough persona to keep up after all but eventually.
he casually brought up the fact that he played it and since then you two frequently played together his island is full of cat villagers, just… absolutely full of them
He even has Raymond on his island, which he is proud to show to you He enjoys all aspects of the game.
However, he really likes decorating/renovating his island.
He likes coming over to your island to see what you’ve done with it.
He also enjoys listening to you talk about your plans about what you want to do next with your island.
While he likes all his cat villagers, he tends to favor Bob and Punchy
You can’t tell if it’s because of their lazy personalities or their appearance
Korekiyo Shinguij:
His love to add stuff to his museum, like fish, bugs or fossils
He sees the animal crossing villages as its own little piece of humanity
So he thinks the game is wonderful
He doesn’t have a favorite villager unlike the other boys
When playing he quite but sometimes you can hear give lightly gasp and show you something he found in-game

Have you heard of the baby project? Now throw that on the ultimates of hopes peak and watch chaos ensue. (If you haven't it's basically students getting paired to care for a baby/robot that resembles a baby)
Oh this will be fun x)
The teachers (especially Chisa) would probably either put together couples, best friends or people who really should learn to get along (in short, just all ships) during the project. While some students are able to care for the robot babies, others are very overwhelmed
Mahiru and Hiyoko would be one of the rare couples that are able to ace the project and Hiyoko is just straight up proud about her perfect baby. She even dresses it up in a kimono to match hers
Another of the rare functioning “parents” would be Ryoma and Gonta. While they both have their own little problems, they try their best and are the most loving parents ever
Akane and Nekomaru would also make a great pair. Most of their classmates had expected that Akane would struggle due to her nature, however she has a lot of experience with raising children after caring for all her siblings ever since she was a child herself taught her everything she needs
To everyone’s surprise Kokichi and Kiibo are also great “parents”. Everyone, including Kiibo, have been expecting that Kokichi fould fail miserably and simply not do his work. However Kokichi is in the end a person who always gives it his all even if he hides it. Kiibo however is simply diligent and do a good job
The last functioning pair are Aoi and Sakura. They would be the most caring and loving mothers there are and care perfectly for their baby. They are also the first to decide on sleeping in the same room during the time of the project, since they do that a lot already anyway
The rest however is chaos x)
Hajime and Nagito are actually trying their best and doing good work together, however considering Nagito’s luck the robot would probably break at some point and maybe just burst up in flames ^^”
Gundham and Kaz would also try but they are already bantering when they try to name the robot baby. They also have this fun discussion if they should do it like the other groups and sleep in the same room over the time while they care for the baby, but that would mean sharing a bed and Gundham is way too shy. Bonus points if they aren’t dating yet and are now awkward as hell
(While I ship Mikan with both Ibuki and Chiaki, I will only go with her and Ibuki for now, since this group would be more fun) Mikan is of course one of the students with the most knowledge on babies, but due to her insecurities she would struggle to even touch the baby in fear of breaking it and making Ibuki fail with her. That Ibuki is also a bit too easily excited about her new “baby” makes Mikan worry even more, because playing very loud heavy metal isn’t the best thing to do when you are carrying a baby. Jumping around is also not that good ^^”
Peko and Fuyuhiko would both also do quite good work with their baby and take good care of if. They would also switch between each other when one of them happens to be busy with something. However they sometimes get a bit stuck when the robot starts crying and they don’t know what to do. Also Natsumi teases her brother a lot about it and calls herself the aunt of the robot baby
Makoto and Byakuya would struggle a bit. Makoto is a bit overwhelmed sometimes and unsure what to do next, however Byakuya struggles so badly since he hardly has any idea on how to behave around babies. He also has problems seeing the use in it
Kiyotaka and Mondo would be close to chaos. While Taka does his best, he goes way too much by the book and tries to do everything with strategy, Mondo just straight up fails since he has no clue how to baby. But damn if he isn’t determined to learn it so that Taka won’t fail this project!
Shuichi and Kaito would have a lot of problems. Shuichi would try to manage with this project and do it correctly even if he has no idea how, but Kaito on the other hand finds this project a bit weird and doesn’t really go all in like he should
Tenko and Himiko would have made a great team, since both would be great parents, however I had to imagine that they got a boy model and Tenko just lost it. However since Himiko was already dotting on their robot baby Tenko didn’t dare to ask for a girl version. Tenko does a great job, but she is struggling so much when having to change the diaper or bathing the baby

(If requests are open) V3 boys trying to confess to their crush (who also likes them), but crush the entire time somehow mistook [boy]'s (otherwise rather blatant) feelings for hatred and somberly tells him they "don't need the reminder" before the actual feelings are clarified?
I hope I got it right anon!

V3 boys trying to confess to their crush but crush the entire time somehow mistook their feelings for hatred before the actual feelings are clarified
Y/N- Your/Reader's name
Ryoma Hoshi
You and Ryoma had your ups and downs but there was one thing for sure. He fell in love with you. There was just something about you that made him feel happy.
Still he isn't best at expressing feelings so that's why you were confused about him. He often pushed you away and yet you still kept coming. You realized your feelings for him but you keep denying it...
When Ryoma asked you to meet him you didn't knew how to react but you went for it anyways. He was dead silent as you approached him.
You could tell what was going on as he said "You know Y/N there is something I should tell you since it whould be uncool if I kept those feelings just to myself..." you thought you knew where this was going... He probably just wanted you to leave him alone so you said "Ok I get it you don't like me don't need this reminder I'll just leave you be geez" that's when it hit him.
He felt like an idiot becouse he pushed you away so often and it was most certainly rude. Right now he didn't even realize that you were leaving but before you managed to leave he grabbed your hand and said "Could you let me finish?" you were surprised by this but you decided to let him.
Its now or never- he thought before he told you about his feelings for you "It might sound a bit wierd but... I think that I might like you... You know in that kind of way" you could feel your heart beat faster... he what? All this time you thought...
Now it's no time to think you can't leave Ryoma hanging! You have to admit that you like him too and so you did.
Thanks to that both of you were shocked. Ryoma didn't predict you whould like him back and didn't knew what to do at this point-
Gonta Gokuhara
You and Gonta were great friends ver close and you started to kinda like him... But with time you two got quite distant.
On the beginning he was leaving early whenever you hung out. Then he started talking to you less. And it ended up with him completely ignoring you.
You were quite lost since why whould he do that? It made you feel a bit down but you have to calm yourself down. But I it broke your heart each time when he was avoiding you.
As time passed Gonta approached you "Y/N- Gonta has something important to say" he was a bit nervous... What if he doesn't know how to say that he hates you!? That's why he looks so nervous?
Cutting him off you said "It's okay Gonta I understand..." he was a bit surprised "You... Do?" he smiled at you but he was confused as you were looking sad "Why is Y/N sad?" you then told him about your assumption.
He felt really bad that you thought he doesn't like you anymore "Y/N it isn't what Gonta means! Gonta wanted to say that Gonta loves Y/N!" your eyes widen as you heard him.
When you asked him why did he avoid you his answer was this "Gonta realized how Gonta felt about Y/N and Gonta asked Kaede for help" he smiled at you and you hugged him. Then he hugged you back.
K1B0
Keebo felt very different around you. You were friends for a long time and he simply doesn't understand the new feelings he feels around you.
So for now he decided to spend less time with you so he could think what could be the solution...
There was one problem though... He never told you the reason why he allways was in such a rush! And he was allways so nervous about it! It all led you to think that he doesn't like spending time with you anymore.
You wanted to make things clear so when you approached him (Wich was exactly when he found out why he felt that way) "Oh Y/N it's good to see you I have to share with you my new discovery about my feelings for you!" he didn't seem odd but you knew where this was coming.
You signed as you said "Keebo you don't have to act like you like me I know you probably wish to never speak to me again" he was very surprised "Y/N that's not what I meant to say!" it caught more of your attention as you looked at him staring to blush "I was feeling a bit differently around you some time ago and I know why is that... I think I might have been in love with you" you were so happy and couldn't resist it and hugged him.
You were so glad that you were wrong all this time! And Keebo repeatedly apologized for the fact that he made you feel that way...
Kaito Momota
You often hung out with Kaito Maki and Shuichi. He was very good friend and all but he sometimes acted differently when there was just you two.
Kaito was more silent and less lively. When it was just you two he allways seemed bothered by something but if you whould ask he whould act like everything is ok.
This led you to believe that he doesn't like you. Too bad since you found yourself having a crush on him...
That day you were talking to Shuichi but not about this topic anything but this. Then Kaito put his hand on your shoulder out of nowhere he asked Shuichi if he can steal you for a moment and Shuichi seemed to know what was going on he said that it's alright by him.
When you were alone same akward silence was around. The silence was stopped as he sighed looking away "Listen Y/N there is something-" you knew where this was going so you cut him off "Yeah I know you hate me but thanks for saying it I can leave you alone" it broke your heart to say this but that's when Kaito stopped you from leaving "Its not like the case at all!" what could he possibly mean then?
He grabbed you by your shoulders forcing you to face him as he said "I think I love you!" you were shocked. But how- when?
Since you like him back you of course informed him. But it doesn't change the fact that you were little bit surprised.
Shuichi Saihara
You often talk to him and he seemed to enjoy your company. But with time he seemed odd...
He never was the most confident to begin with but after you knew each other for so long he seemed more shy than when you met... That's when it hit you... He probably doesn't enjoy your company and doesn't know how to say so...
You decided to leave him alone and see how whould he react. And he did what you thought he whould- nothing.
So you just left him be... It was a bit sad since you found yourself falling for him... But if he doesn't like you what's the point?
With time Shuichi came towards you and he avoided eye contact as he said "Y/N I- have something really important to tell you" you knew where this was going and so you told him this "It's okay Shuichi I know you don't like me I don't need your reminder" it was a bit bitter but you wanted to avoid Shuichi saying it.
But what happened was different from your expectations... Shuichi said "No that's wrong Y/N! I mean- What I ment to say is-" he looked you in the eyes and looked like he was hesitant "I- think that I have a crush on you" your eyes widen but you were so happy. Of course informed him that you felt the same.
Rantaro Amami
You were allways helping out Rantaro with keeping up the work since he traveled very often. Still you managed to get really close.
Of course with time he found himself other friends but he hung out with you from time to time.
But he allways found time for you that's why you started falling for him. As time passed he started acting a bit differently.
You decided to leave it be while he was acting more and more odd. It seems like he just wanted to leave as fast as possible. He also seemed distracted when he talked to you and just noded.
One day he approached you "Hey Y/N I'm sorry but I don't know if I can handle it anymore so I need to tell you this" it confirms your thought of him not wanting your company anymore "That's fine Rantaro I understand I don't need your pity so you can just forget I exist sorry for dragging this for so long" you looked down as Rantaro put his hand on your cheek "Y/N what do you mean?" he then lazily laughed "Can you let me finish it first" you looked at him surprised and waiting for him to finish "The point is I love you and I was dying to say it for quite a while sorry that I made you think otherwise" you didn't knew how to react...
You were so happy. Rantaro smiled as he saw you smile so brightly
Kokichi Ouma
Your relationship with Kokichi was a bit tricky. He teased you very often and sometimes he whould go too far. But even though he could be very sweet it was very rare to see his caring side but you managed to see it.
But you have no idea how he feels about you. He's sometimes rude and sometimes nice. The thing that seems to get most of your attention is the fact that he mostly spends time with you even if he mostly does so to mess with you.
You decided to play along and act like you don't like him. Even though in the end you are very nice to him.
This caused him to feel quite confused but he can see through your lies and knows that you don't hate him. But he managed to fall for you and this is what truly matters.
The day he decided to tell you how he felt was the day you almost gave up. He approached you as allways and said "Y/N I have something important to say~" you still liked him but your answer was with annoyed tone "What do you want? I know you hate me I don't need this reminder every day" it was trying and it did hurt you each time he said it.
That's when he started fake crying "Y/N is soo mean he/she won't let me even finish!" you looked at him rising your eyebrow "Gosh if you are so rude maybe it's better that I hid my obvious love towards you" you almost fell off your chair as you heard him.
Well you can't leave him hanging and you have to answer to his feelings but you felt like you couldn't say anything but Kokichi seemed to understand you.
Korekiyo Shinguji
Korekiyo allways was observing everyone interact with each other and he was mostly interested in you. And he was very surprised when you decided to spend time with him of all people.
His mysterious aura just was like a magnet you were curious about him and so you became friends. He was very distant but he trusted you.
One day he was acting a little bit odd and was very sad you attempted to cheer him up but it was very sensitive topic and you approached it wrong way therefore making him mad and a fight broke down. You never saw him this furious.
After that you stopped talking but you thought he whould calm down after day or two but it all took weeks and that's when you started thinking about the worst. Literally you can't believe an argument whould be this big deal... What if he doesn't want to be your friend anymore? Even though you wished you were more better not to be greedy...
All your doubts were cleared as he approached you "I believe that I should tell you something. First of all I deeply apologize for my behavior I know that you ment no harm but now what I want to say Y/N and it's quite important as it will probably change everything in our relationship" even though he apologized you still stick with your thoughts of him hating you.
You got ready for it and save him the trouble "Korekiyo I really don't need reminder that you dislike me" his eyes widen and so he told you "I believe that I shall be the one to clarify my feelings Y/N. I probably was unclear but what I wanted to say is that I am in love with you it took me some time but I finally realized it" he was very calm while saying those words.
And from being sad you started smiling as you told him about your feelings for him. After the whole feelings were clear you two shared very warm hug.

See You on the Other Side (1/5)
Part one of five of my Saiouma Day one-shot! There is a reason that this is getting broken up into five parts; I will get to that in the notes.
So, this will be a soulmates AU with my own twists put in place. For some reason, I wanted to do something involving angst with a happy ending, so that’s how this idea came about. It wound up being more complicated than I originally thought XD
I hope you guys like it!
Title: See You on the Other Side
Summary: The world works as such: everyone has a soulmate that they must find before either one of them dies. If one of them dies, the other person will become stuck in a loop, starting from a specific moment in time. However, the soulmate indicator changes each time and gradually becomes harder to recognize. This will continue until they find their soulmate.
In a situation as dangerous as the killing game, Shuichi Saihara has no time to bother with finding a soulmate. But, when he sees a mark on the supreme leader’s neck that looks eerily similar to his soulmate mark, he can’t help but grow curious about it...
Notes: This is a mashup of both soulmate and time loop AUs; there are many rules that are put into place in this particular universe (I’m going to put up a set of rules for this universe shortly after this is uploaded); some parts will be longer than others due to how much content needs to be covered (particularly Loop #4); after the Love Hotel scene between Shuichi and Kokichi, Shuichi is actually able to recall small bits and pieces from it; it is implied that they slept together coming close to the end of the Love Hotel scene
Warnings: Character death; read at your own risk!

There was a purple star on Kokichi’s neck.
Shuichi noticed it the minute Kokichi took off his scarf. The supreme leader had roped him into a game of tag during free time. They found themselves in the pool and Kokichi slipped, falling face first into the water. Shuichi went after him soon after and helped him out, the two of them trudging back to Shuichi’s room to change into their spare outfits.
Shuichi felt the curiosity gnawing at him as he eyed Kokichi. He tried to avert his gaze, but he couldn’t help but gaze at the tattoo adorning the supreme leader’s neck.
It didn’t help that it looked almost exactly like the soulmate mark that was on his lower hip.
Maybe it was just a coincidence?
Or could it be...
Shuichi swallowed.
No, there’s no way. Ouma-kun couldn’t possibly be my soulmate, could he, he asked himself.
He reached up to smack his cheeks.
Why am I even thinking about this, anyway? I have no time to be wondering about my soulmate. Getting out of this academy without having anyone else die is my top priority. Searching for my soulmate can wait until then, he told himself.
But, something was telling him that he should look into this.
He bit his lip as he buttoned back up his shirt.
“...Ouma-kun?” he spoke hesitantly.
“Hm? What is it, Saihara-chan?” Kokichi hummed in response.
Shuichi’s tongue darted out to lick his lips.
“That star mark on your neck...how did you get it?” he asked.
“Star mark? What are you—Oh.” Kokichi reached up to where his scarf covered the mark. “This is a tattoo I ended up getting.” he replied.
“A tattoo, huh...” Shuichi trailed off.
“Sounds like that answer doesn’t satisfy you, Saihara-chan.”
“It’s not that! It’s just...”
“Just what? Were you expecting me to say something else?”
Shuichi pressed his lips together, keeping quiet.
God knows what would happen if Shuichi told him that he was wondering if that was actually his soulmate tattoo or not...
“You know, if you were trying to keep those thoughts to yourself, you sure weren’t trying hard enough.”
Shuichi drew in a sharp gasp, hand flying over his mouth.
“Well, to answer your question, it might be my soulmate mark, it might not be. Who knows~” Kokichi singsonged.
Shuichi furrowed his brows.
“Is that so...” he trailed off.
“Weeeeeeeeell, if you’re done trying to interrogate me about it, then I’ll just be on my way!” Kokichi walked past Shuichi, raising his hand up in a nonchalant wave. “Bye bye, Saihara-chan!” he chirped.
“Ah! Wait a minute, Ouma-ku—“ Shuichi whirled around just as Kokichi stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him.
Shuichi released a sigh.
“And he’s gone...” he murmured.
His lips curled down into a frown as he lowered his eyes down to his lower hip. He ran his fingers along where his soulmate tattoo was under his shirt.
“I know this should be the least of my worries, but I can’t help but be curious...” he trailed off.
Maybe I can look into it while I’m trying to figure out how to get everyone out of here without anyone else dying, he thought to himself.
“I need to look into this.”
💜💜💜💜
His constant observations and spending time with the supreme leader eventually drove Shuichi to a dead end. Every time he brought the subject up, Kokichi would find a way to lie his way out of it. Eventually, Shuichi decided to give up.
He couldn’t find himself to be focused on it when he had other things to take care of.
His efforts to prevent the killings were all in vain, he realized. During the time between now and when he had first asked Kokichi about the purple star on his neck, five more of their classmates had been either murdered or executed by the psychotic bear.
The recent class trial had tensions running higher than ever, with Gonta’s execution, Kokichi spiraling into insanity, and the disaster that took place afterward when Kokichi declared that he was the mastermind and kidnapped Kaito, taking him back to the Exisal hangar. Everyone was more stressed out than ever.
As for Shuichi, he spent a lot of his nights in his lab, thinking over various things.
Why did Gonta have to die?
Why would Kokichi do such a thing?
Why wasn’t he strong enough to prevent anymore killings?
Why did he let thoughts about his potential soulmate take priority?
Why the hell did he feel like there was more to Kokichi’s actions than meets the eye?
He released a loud groan, running his fingers through his hair.
“Why does this all have to be complicated?!” he complained.
He let his head fall back against the chair’s headrest, looking up at the ceiling.
“I never asked for this...” he muttered.
He felt his eyelids begin to grow heavy and eventually, he drifted to sleep.
💜💜💜💜
When Shuichi came to, the first thing that immediately grabbed his attention was the pungent smell of sickly sweet perfume permeating the air.
“What in the...?” he muttered out.
He then took in his surroundings, observing the circular bed he was on, the gaudy colors that painted the walls, the neon glow from the lights, the devices hooked up on the walls, and a carousel horse moving back and forth around the bed.
“What the heck is this place...?” he wondered out loud.
He looked over to the end of the bed and saw Kokichi.
Ouma-kun’s here, too? Maybe he knows why we’re here, he thought to himself.
“Ouma-kun...I didn’t know you were here, as well.” he commented.
“Yeah. I’ve been waiting for you to come to.” Kokichi replied.
Shuichi swallowed, recalling everything that had happened involving the supreme leader.
Was it safe for him to be in the same room as him?
Kokichi let out a half-hearted chuckle.
“There’s no need for you to worry, Shuichi. I’m not going to kill you.” he said.
“How can I tell you’re not lying to me?”
“Because when I summoned you into the love suite with my key, I made it so that we can both be transparent with one another. In other words, I put restrictions on myself. So basically, I am unable to harm you.”
Shuichi blinked his eyes twice at this.
“Is that even possible?” he asked.
“Oh, come on, Shuichi. If you can easily believe that we’re being manipulated by a psychotic robot bear to kill each other as a game, then I’m sure you can believe this, as well.” Kokichi replied. Shuichi’s tongue darted out to lick his lips as he noticed something.
“Wait...did you just say my name?” he asked.
“I did.” Kokichi turned to him. “I mean, we’re lovers, aren’t we?” he asked.
“Lovers...?” the word sounded foreign to the detective. “What are you saying?” Shuichi asked.
“Oh, don’t worry.” Kokichi turned, crawling onto the bed. “You won’t remember any of this in the morning, anyway.” he said.
Shuichi gulped, watching as Kokichi got closer. He backed up until his back hit the headboard. The supreme leader reached up towards his scarf as he climbed onto the detective’s lap.
“Hey...” he began to slowly tug it off, the action mimicking that of loosening a tie from around one’s neck. “Is it wrong of me to want to indulge every once in a while?” he asked, voice low and seductive.
Shuichi felt his heart pound rapidly against his rib cage. The simple action of Kokichi taking off his scarf looked downright sexy. Shuichi looked eyes with him, seeing the lust swirling around in the depths of his purple eyes.
“Ou...Ouma-kun...” he breathed out.
“Why are you being so formal? Call me by my name.” he threw the scarf off to the side. “Like I said before, we’re lovers, aren’t we?” he asked.
Shuichi said nothing as Kokichi looped his arms over his shoulders, pressing their bodies together. His gaze fell onto the purple star that sparked his curiosity from the beginning.
Just as I thought, it looks a whole lot like mine, he thought to himself.
“Ouma—I mean, Kokichi,” he quickly corrected himself upon seeing the stern gaze the supreme leader shot him, “I know you told me to stop asking about it, but that mark on your neck...is it really a tattoo? Or is it actually your soulmate mark?” he asked.
“I told you, it’s a tattoo. Besides, who in their right mind would give someone as wretched as me a soulmate?” Kokichi asked.
“But...everyone has a soulmate. How can it be possible for someone to not have one?”
“Oh, you’d be surprised, Shuichi. And besides, I’m not all that interested in this whole soulmate bullshit. It’s stupid.”
Shuichi furrowed his brows.
“You may say that, but your eyes are telling me a different story. Could it be that you actually want to have one?” he asked.
Kokichi stared at him, his expression turning blank. It was silent between them for a few minutes before he spoke.
“Maybe I do, maybe I don’t. The world may never know.” Kokichi replied.
“Kokichi, I thought you said that you were going to be transparent with me. So, why are you lying all of a sudden?” Shuichi asked.
“Ah, that was a lie.” Shuichi glowered at him. “Okay, okay, I’ll be honest! I promise!” Kokichi exclaimed.
Shuichi sighed as Kokichi spoke.
“You won’t remember any of this, anyway, so I may as well tell you. It is indeed my soulmate mark.” he said.
“So, I was right...” Shuichi stared at him. “Do you know who your soulmate is?” he asked.
“No. And if I’m being honest, I don’t think I want to know who it is.”
“Why is that?”
“That’s because I know for certain that the person who’s my soulmate isn’t my ideal soulmate.”
“Your ideal soulmate? Who would that be?”
“You.”
Shuichi blinked, trying to process what Kokichi just said.
“What?” he asked.
“I said my ideal soulmate is you, Shuichi.” Kokichi’s hand glided along the side of Shuichi’s neck. “I want you to be my soulmate, but I know that that will never happen.” he stated.
“Kokichi...” Shuichi trailed off.
“So, before everything is set in motion, I want to indulge in my one guilty pleasure: you. It will be the last thing I accomplish before I go away for good.” Kokichi explained.
“Before you go away for good?” Shuichi felt a sense of dread overtake him. “What do you mean by tha—“ he was cut off by the supreme leader placing his fingers against his lips.
“No more questions. Just let me give myself over to you and you do the same.” Kokichi removed his finger. “Tonight is the night we lose ourselves to senseless passion and lust.” he said.
Cupping Shuichi’s cheek, he leaned in and pressed his lips against Shuichi’s. The detective immediately stiffened as Kokichi’s lips moved against his own. He felt Kokichi press his lips to his a little harder, urging for him to kiss back. He gave in, letting the sensation of Kokichi’s soft, plush lips against his own whisk him off to a faraway land.
Shuichi found himself growing heady, briefly wondering if it was the perfume that made him feel this way. He moaned against Kokichi’s mouth as he reached to undo the buttons and clasps on it. Kokichi rolled his hips against Shuichi’s as he reached to unbutton Shuichi’s shirt.
After discarding their shirts, Shuichi pushed Kokichi down onto the mattress.
“Shuichi...” the supreme leader whispered.
“Fine. I’ll go ahead and play along.” he said before capturing his lips in another kiss.
Kokichi moaned, tears sliding down his cheeks.
“Mmmm...Shuichi...” he drew away from the kiss a couple minutes later, cupping Shuichi’s cheeks with his hands. “I love you...and I’ll continue to do so even after I die.” he said.
Something tugged at the detective the moment those words left Kokichi’s lips. They were morbid, almost sounding as if it were foreshadowing something.
Before he could question Kokichi about it, the supreme leader pulled him back in for another kiss, letting them lose themselves in their passion.
💜💜💜💜
Shuichi woke with a start, nearly face planting into the carpet. He grabbed for the arms of the chair to steady himself.
“What the...? Did I fall asleep here without realizing it?” he wondered out loud.
He looked over at the clock.
“It’s that late already...?” he muttered out.
He stood, stretching.
“I should head back.” he said as he turned and left his lab.
As he walked through the moonlit halls, he began to think.
My mind feels fuzzy...did I dream about something, he asked himself.
Bits and pieces circled about in his mind, but nothing seemed to add up. Then, a voice appeared in his mind.
“I love you...and I’ll continue to do so even after I die.”
Shuichi stopped, bringing a hand up to his chin.
That voice...it sounded like Ouma-kun. But, why would I be hearing his voice? And those kind of words...there’s no way he’d say something like how he loves me, right, he told himself.
He got ready to continue walking when he felt it. It felt like someone set his nerves on fire, his vision turning white.
A loud scream ripped itself from his throat as he grabbed for his head, collapsing to the floor.
What is this pain, he asked himself.
He continued screaming. He felt like his head were to split in two if the pain continued.
This pain...they say it’s only felt if your soulmate dies before you, he thought to himself.
His eyes grew wide.
“Did...my soulmate die?” he choked out.
He never got to answer his question as his vision went black.

Kaede’s twin: Akamatsu Shikimi Shikimi goes to Hope’s Peak Academy as a Reserve Course student. More easygoing but just as firm and assertive as her sister. Despite being mistaken as Kaede frequently in public, she doesn’t despise her twin, even going as far as pretending to her so Kaede can take a break from the limelight. Can play the piano (as well as guitar and violin) but only at a beginner level.
Rantaro’s 2/12 sisters: Amami Youko (2nd child), Amami Misaki (1st child, 3rd partner) Youko is Rantaro’s only full sibling. She attend’s Hope’s Pass High School, Rantaro’s old high school prior to being scouted. More mature than her older bro; has a no-nonsense attitude and quite studious. Easily annoyed by Rantaro’s childish antics but worries about him a lot whenever he travels. Misaki looks up to Rantaro a lot and strongly considers him a role model. She tags along with him frequently, except during his travels and is up to date with his vlogs. She is currently in 4th grade.
Shuichi’s Uncle: Saihara Yoshio Yoshio is the younger brother of Shuichi’s father. He takes in Shuichi after his brother and his wife move overseas, leaving their son to his care. He is a private investigator of a small detective firm, and takes Shuichi as his assistant. He lets Shuichi read confidential case files and would indulge him with a meal of donuts and hot chocolate on some afternoons.
Kaito’s grandparents: Momota Shou, Momota Asuka Shou and Asuka are the parents of Kaito’s father. Kaito was left to their care when his parents died in a tragic car accident. They have a tree house in their backyard where Kaito usually played as a child and Shou would often take Kaito to an open field to stargaze at night. They were quite traditional in their beliefs, and Kaito unconsciously absorbed some of their patriarchal views.
Maki’s favorite (in the orphanage): Shimizu Reika Reika is timid and shy, and mostly didn’t play with the other kids in the orphanage. She would often trail Maki whenever she had errands, and liked clinging to her. She aspires to be a “responsible big sister” like Maki to the other kids, doing her best to conquer her social anxieties. Maki initially disliked Reika’s clinginess, but eventually develops a soft spot for her (since she was mostly well-behaved anyway).
Korekiyo’s older sister: Shinguji Miyadera Miyadera is frail and sickly. Fearful of her short lifespan, she spoils her younger brother to no end. She would frequently visit Hope’s Peak to bring him food, random knick knacks or relics she manages to get a hold of. She would often message him to ask about his well-being, which sometimes irritate Kiyo but he lets his sister be. The siblings care for each other greatly (but not to the point that it becomes incestuous).
Kokichi’s organization D.I.C.E: names confidential A group of pranksters led by Kokichi. After being alienated from his family, he forms this ragtag group of outcasts to commit trivial crimes such as harmless pranks, vandalism and petty theft. They are basically a family unit to him.
Tenko’s Aikido master: Maeda Hikaru After the death of Tenko’s mother (at the hands of own father), Tenko was adopted by Hikaru, who is a good friend of her mother’s. Hikaru owns a dojo and trains Tenko with aikido. They invent a variation of aikido that they subsequently dubbed “Neo Aikido.” Hikaru has spent most of her life in a loveless rut, and she channels her bitterness with preaching to Tenko her biased views on men. Coupled with Tenko’s bad experience with her father, she develops a close-minded negative perception of men.
Kirumi’s mother: Tojo Kazumi Kazumi is a single mother, and doesn’t actually know who Kirumi’s father is. She had been completely drunk one night at a college party, and was too inebriated to notice she’d been having sex with a man. Her girlfriend subsequently left her while her family disowned her when she decided to keep the baby. She worked hard to be able to provide for Kirumi, taking up small part-time jobs apart from a day job during her early-twenties to her late-twenties. This inspired Kirumi to take a part time job when she was old enough. Currently, she works in a bookstore.
Angie’s late grandfather: Yonaga Arell Arell took care of Angie when her parents left the island to find jobs overseas and have not returned ever since. He teaches Angie obscure traditions of their island and the religion of Atua. An artist himself, he teaches Angie how to do visual art and sculpture, even teaching her how to apply incantations to her works of art. His eccentric way of speaking was picked up by Angie. Arell contracts a deadly disease when Angie was 9 years old, and unfortunately dies after 2 years.
Tsumugi’s little brother: Shirogane Takumi Despite sharing a lot of interests with her sister (video games and anime), Takumi teases his older sister a lot. He would also often bother Tsumugi when she is sewing a costume. Their parents are often too busy at work, and with his sister’s shut-in personality, Takumi feels lonely. He secretly admires his sister for her geeky attitude and talent for making beautiful cosplays. Tsumugi finds him annoying, but nevertheless pampers him when she has time. She would also try to dress him up, even in girl’s clothings and he doesn’t mind.
Himiko’s mother: Yumeno Chiyoko Chiyoko used to be a Magician’s assistant. Now, she works as a stage director while her husband works as a stuntman. She is very outgoing and bubbly. She would always recount how her day went during dinnertime with her family. During weekends, she likes taking Himiko out for a day at the park, or watch movies. Himiko is very close with her mother as she often brings her up in conversations, although she dreads being affectionate with her in public.
Keebo’s father: Iidabashi Manabu Prof. Iidabashi is a talented robotics engineer of Future Foundation. He fathered Keebo with one of his former subordinates, who left the organization after leaving him Keebo upon his birth. Not wanting to be an absentee father since his job eats up a lot of time, Manabu homeschools Keebo until he was enrolled to Hope’s Peak, bringing him along whenever he reported to his office. He is quite overprotective of his son and is very quick to defend him.
Miu’s estranged (real) father: Keane Bellerose Keane was a French tourist visiting Japan that had a brief affair with Miu’s mother. He lost contact with the mother after leaving Japan, and never knew he fathered a child. Being an illegitimate child, Miu’s stepfather mostly neglects her while her mother is mostly away from home. Keane eventually learns about his daughter and attempts to reconnect with her.
Ryoma’s family cat: Sunny A turkish calico, named after the same breed in the game Neko Atsume. Along with Ryoma, they are the only survivors of the massacre that claimed the lives of Ryoma’s parents, two siblings and an aunt.
Gonta’s wolf family They’re wolves, Harold.

100 reasons why I (personally) OTP Oumasai:
Warning: this is an extremely long post.
1. In the beginning of the game Shuichi normally didn't talk much during introductions, let alone be the one to start talking without being addressed to, but when Kokichi revealed his ultimate, he actually got curious and jumped in asking about his organization.
2. It is proven that he really was interested in it as he asks about it later in Kokichi's free time events.
3. Kokichi was interested in Shuichi at first because he was a detective and he wanted to see if he can see through his lies, but then got attached to him because "he couldn't figure him out".
4. Kokichi was probably amused by how nice he was to him (by actually approaching him and hanging out with him) compared to the others.
5. In chapter 2 Shuichi woke up to find Kokichi above him, saying that he's glad he's finally awake (makes me wonder if he got worried when Gonta came in with an unconscious Shuichi, and if he stayed by his side the whole time).
6. At multiple points in the game, Shuichi actually comments on how innocent Kokichi looks compared to his words, saying he can't get mad at him because he looks like he means no malice, then says "but that might just be another lie..."
7. During the free time events, Kokichi literally plays 100 rounds of Rock Paper Scissors with Shuichi because he wants to show him that he actually does not want him to die or to hurt him in general.
8. And probably because he genuinely has fun hanging out with him, even if it means playing the same game 100 times and getting the same result on purpose (and Shuichi did not stop either!)
9. The freaking fact that he hurt himself on purpose to lose and let Shuichi "win".
10. THE FREAKIN FACT SHUICHI IMMEDIATELY GOT WORRIED AND WENT TO TEND HIM FRANTICALLY.
11. The fact Kokichi was laughing "like he was having the time of his life" (as Shuichi said) the whole time Shuichi was taking care of him.
12. "I stole your heart so now I'm satisfied!"
13. The persona freakin vibes, the detective Conan freakin vibes. THE PHANTOM THIEF AU.
14. THEIR FREAKING DYNAMIC.
15. The fact that Kokichi's free time events were one big scheme to make Shuichi think about him.
16. When Kaede hung out with Kokichi, she got pissed in the end and the FTE ended with a warning from Kokichi. But with Shuichi, it ended with such a heartwarming note because Shuichi was patient with him and actually cared for him and worried about him.
17. Kokichi called Kaede and Rantaro his beloved once in chapter 1 after they were dead, but called Shuichi his beloved from chapter 2 onwards in front of him.
18. PROBABLY TO MAKE SURE THAT SHUICHI NEVER REALISES THAT HE MEANS IT CAUSE HE WILL THINK EVERYTHING HE SAYS IS A LIE.
19. Shuichi is the only one, and I repeat the only one who thinks twice about Kokichi's lies. And I quote him saying multiple times "he's lying about lying..."
20. Whenever Kokichi has evidence the one he always reaches out to is Shuichi. During trials and investigations.
21. Shuichi is onto him during the trials and acknowledges how much of a help he is. One time he said "maybe I should thank him later" but then backtracked.
22. In chapter 4 Kokichi referred to Shuichi with the phrase "Suki ni natta hito" "the person I fell in love with" while alone. and it's not even a bonus scene or event, the line is 100% canon and the player will come across it no matter what.
23.The👏angst👏starts👏in👏chapter👏four👏where👏kokichi👏decides👏to👏cut👏his👏ties👏with👏everyone👏including👏his👏beloved👏
24. But how does he do that? By trash talking the hell out of Shuichi's best friend in front of him, because he knows what pisses Shuichi off. Kokichi is not stupid, if he truly wanted Shuichi to trust him he wouldn't trash talk his friend. A part of him must have wanted Shuichi to be his ally, but it wasn’t possible after he told him to stop hanging around Kaito.
25.  His clinginess in chapter 4 was probably him trying to make use of the time he has left with Shuichi before it all crashes down. That’s why he talked to him after the murder has happened. He realized he didn’t want Shuichi questioning his actions.
26.  His worried face when he said he would cry if something happened to his Saihara chan.
27. The fact that their relationship wouldn’t be so pure because of the love hotel-
28. Kokichi was constantly worried about Kaito influencing Shuichi negatively and tried to drop him hints multiple times that sometimes believing in each other and working together might get them all killed.
29. The fact Kokichi freaking called Shuichi the Japanese sweet "Shumai" just like Kaito calls Maki "Harumaki" IS REALLY HECKIN ADORABLE AND VALID.
30. It just seems like they are both very interested in each other. Like they are each other's puzzle. They want to know more about each other.
31. And honestly, their relationship is just so very cute.
32. Kokichi's interest in Shuichi, says a lot about him.
33. And let's talk about something... Kokichi has always been treated like shit in the killing game by his friends. No one trusted him, everyone turned on him when Rantaro accused him of wanting to play the killing game because he suggested not doing the death road of despair. And he took all the blame to stop Kaede from basically torturing everyone by forcing them to try again and again. And he always brushed it off whenever they said anything mean to him. So why do you think he had such a strong reaction (for someone like Kokichi) when Shuichi said "you're alone and you always will be"?
34. Kokichi had planned to make Shuichi hate him cause he was planning to impersonate the mastermind, he needed to cut his ties with everyone. So when he did so with Shuichi, and with his best friend and probably the only person he can trust in the killing game getting killed. It became too much for him so he booked it out. Ah the angst.
35. Later in the game, Shuichi calls Kokichi his friend. And want do friends do? Stay by each other's side.
36. And then the salmon team ending comes along and wraps it all by making the ending theme "staying by each other's side"
37. "you want to know more about me right? Then you should stay by my side." "Kokichi's right... I want to know more about him."
38. In the ending of the FTE's Shuichi says "I reach out my hand to Kokichi, but he doesn't take it" but then at the end of the salmon team ending he says "I reach out and grasp the hand reached out to me"
39. "Kokichi can lie about a lot of things, but he can't lie about the warmth of his hand."
40. THE DATES ARE ADORABLE THEIR INTERACTIONS ARE ADORABLE THE FTES ARE ADORABLE THE SALMON TEAM ENDING IS ADORABLE.
41. "Maybe you and I were lovers in a past life!"
42. Pregame👏oumasai👏is👏beautiful👏 (when people don't make it abusive holy shit yall need Jesus)
43. "SAIHARA CHAN!" "SAIHARA CHAN!" "SASUGA SAIHARA CHAN!!!!" 😂
44. Kokichi saw Shuichi as himself in the love hotel, his ideal version of Shuichi is Shuichi himself, NO CHANGES.
45. And the game makes it pretty clear that he saw HIS beloved, by all the connections between stuff he said in the hotel and stuff he said out of the hotel.
46. In chapter 3 if you decide to talk to Kokichi before checking in on Kaito, There is a really interesting conversation between them. Kokichi saying he would rather have Kaede come back to life because it would make Shuichi happy.
47. He also says that he loves Shuichi and is always thinking about him, but then he says its a lie. But the funny thing is, in the love hotel he actually says the exact same thing- and he has no control over the love hotel, everything there is g e n u i n e.
48. Kokichi's love hotel scene had the most voiced lines, I wonder why? 👀
49. Kokichi literally pushed Shuichi onto a bed, in a freaking love hotel.
50. "that means, you can do anything you want to me, and that's the truth"
51. The thing that makes Kokichi's love hotel the most interesting isn't only because he literally was with the person he was in love with, but it's also because it is implied that Kokichi is playing Shuichi's ideal instead.
52. KOKICHI FREAKIN GOT OVERWHELMED OVER HIS OWN FEELINGS BECAUSE HE HAS A HARD TIME TRUSTING PEOPLE AND RAN AWAY FROM HIS OWN FANTASY OMFG.
53. "I caught myself wishing he would stay before I smothered the thought"
54. Kokichi has a hard time trusting people but had Shuichi labeled as "trustworthy?" on the whiteboard in his room.
55. His "will" was literally directed towards Shuichi, even Maki knew because she went to Shuichi and gave it to him saying "I think this is for you".
56. Shuichi was the one to clear Kokichi's name from ultimate despair.
57. He seemed really interested in what was going through Kokichi's head the entire game.
58. The fact that Kokichi helped Shuichi so much, with literally ending the game even after he's dead.
59. They would make an amazing investigation team together....
60. Their interactions in the drv3 comic anthology are really freaking precious.
61. They feel valid but not forced at the same time. Just showing that they get along really well, without any repetition.
62. The fact that the comic anthology confirmed that Shuichi tries to calm Kokichi down whenever he's fake crying even though he knows it's fake...
63. It reminds me of how in the game he stated multiple times "maybe I should make sure he's alright"
64. And that one section that focused on Shuichi and Kokichi, where Shuichi was trying to use a lie detector that Miu made to know when Kokichi is lying.
65. Kokichi let him use it on him for a while until Shuichi asked about the organization to get information XD
66. That just shows again how Shuichi is interested in Kokichi and his organization and wants to figure him out. The same way Kokichi finds him tricky and wants to figure HIM out.
67. They look really good together! The height difference for example! Its legit perfect, not too much and not too low.
68.  Kokichi wearing mostly white while Shuichi wears mostly black. and that’s a bit interesting cause normally white is given to represent the pure and helpful characters while black is normally given to represent the dark “evil” characters. but here Kokichi who is trusted by no one and paints himself as the bad guy is wearing white, and Shuichi who everyone blindly believes in and trust is wearing black, makes you think, doesn’t it?
69.  The dark blue and purple aesthetic...
70. Their characters are meant to parallel each other with the truth and lies theme, and the game makes that very clear to the player. but sometimes they step in each others territory, where Shuichi has to lie at least once in every trial to progress, and Kokichi hiding a lot of truths in his lies to make everyone confused and not trust him. to me this dynamic between them is very interesting.
71. The fanfictions and fanart are adorable fight me, some people can write their relationship so freakin well? What are you people???? Gods?? Because it sure seems like it.
72. It has the right amount of angst and fluff for a ship, it has everything I've wanted in a ship, I love it.
73. The thief and the detective... Lies and truths... Good shit.
74. Kokichi looks really freaking adorable in Shuichi's hat y'all.
75. Just imagine dice getting in trouble with the police and Shuichi finding a way to bail them out, since they trust the detective.
76. Kokichi, the embodiment of lying, CONSIDERED TO STOP WITH LYING BECAUSE HE WANTED TO GET CLOSER TO SHUICHI. WHY DOES NOBODY TALK ABOUT THIS.
77. "What should I do... If I wanna become closer to Shuichi... I probably shouldn't lie so much..."
78. When Shuichi said he will get to tolerate his lying Kokichi felt guilty at first with his despair sprite being shown.
79. But then got happy when he realized that meant that Shuichi will accept him for who he is. And when he saw that Shuichi understands him and can see through his lies anyway.
80. "Maybe I was born into this world just to meet you, Shuichi."
81. During Kokichi's FTE's they were playing games and spending time together right? Like the time they drank tea XD well during the love hotel Kokichi says "come, play with me, let's do a lot more together" and "I'll think of a better game for next time, so make sure you excite me too". Aka: Kokichi just told us his true feelings.
82. "I'm so glad I met someone who can truly understand me"
83. The fact that Kokichi is like a cat that constantly wants attention and keeps flirting with his beloved, notice me Saihara chan.
84. THEIR JP VOICES GO ALONG REALLY WELL TOGETHER WTF. I’ve also come to appreciate how Kokichi has the deeper voice in jp with Shuichi with the feminine lighter voice. but it’s the opposite in English.
85. It's kinda funny how Shuichi keeps trying to figure him out while Kokichi just keeps flirting with him 😂 probably making him even more confused.
86. To Kokichi who could predict everything, Shuichi's unpredictability fascinated him to the point he fell in love with him.
87. Unlike everyone, Shuichi is patient with Kokichi, but not too patient. He is the exact person Kokichi needs.
88. And it makes total sense why a trickster fell in love with a sweet detective.
89. "and I wanted your eyes to be on me..."
90. Kokichi deserves someone who would love him for being himself and its shown that Shuichi did fall for him in the salmon team.
91. SHUICHI'S BLUSH WHEN KOKICHI TOLD HIM THAT HE KNOWS HIS LIES NEVER BORED HIM.
92. Shuichi👏wants👏to👏know👏more👏about👏Kokichi👏
93. Kokichi👏wants👏to👏be👏Shuichi's👏everything👏
94. this is completely personal but I started off the game being confused about the ship, and became a hardcore supporter by the end of it. Which means its a heckin good ship if you ask me.
95. Pretty sure Shuichi is one of the only reasons for Kokichi to genuinely smile in a killing game.
96. This ship can make me cry from sadness because of the sad videos, or from happiness from fluffy fanfictions and fanart.
97. Kokichi is completely in love and is enamored by Shuichi it hurts. His love for Shuichi is valid, so freaking valid, 100% valid, more valid than my existence.
98. I love the bonus interactions between them hidden throughout the chapters, like the one where Kokichi tells Shuichi that everything he does is for everyone. It seems that he is only honest with Shuichi, but of course hides it as a lie.
99. Kokichi wanted Shuichi to join his organization, and called him interesting multiple times. Which is really important coming from someone like Kokichi who wasn't fond of most of the people in the killing game.
100. Their relationship is very realistic, it is focused on how two characters try their best to understand each other, how even someone like Kokichi can come to trust in someone and want someone to trust in him, how he wants that someone to be able to understand him. Kokichi went from being interested in Shuichi to falling in love with him (literally referring to him as the person he fell in love with, using the same phrase that Maki says to Kaito later on), in a freaking killing game. he forced himself to cut their ties and died thinking the only person he cared about hated him. while Shuichi started off interested but wary of Kokichi, tried reaching out to him but failed due to Kokichi pushing him away, to getting mad from him for making Gonta a murderer and trash talking Kaito when he seemed in a really bad condition (after getting punched by Kokichi too) to hitting cold hard realization to what Kokichi has been trying to do the whole game after his death. and then appreciating his help, using the clues he left behind for him, clearing his name, calling him a friend, and grieving his death with the rest of his friends who died in the killing game. He then uses everything Kokichi gave to him and taught him, ends up understanding Kokichi and his lies, and uses the tactic he taught him where he said “sometimes you win a game by not playing it” to end danganronpa. then you’re left wondering how things could’ve been different if Shuichi didn’t already have so much on his back and tried harder to reach out to Kokichi. you start wondering what could’ve happened if Kokichi didn’t push him away, you start thinking about all these possibilities. and then salmon team comes along and wraps everything up with a ribbon. putting direct throwbacks to what happened in the killing game and the free time events, Kokichi BEING the one to reach out to Shuichi, asking him to stay by his side. Their relationship is like one huge arc that starts the moment they met to their graduation in salmon team, and it leaves you with the fact that after they graduate they will stay together and learn more about each other, just like both of them wanted but couldn’t do in the killing game. if this isn’t a beautiful realistic relationship, I don’t know what is. Honestly, everything about this ship is so very beautiful, and I will support it with my life.

Danganronpa V3 Commentary: Part 3.5
Be aware that this is not a blind playthrough! This will contain spoilers for the entire game, regardless of the part of the game I’m commenting on. A major focus of this commentary is to talk about all of the hints and foreshadowing of events that are going to happen and facts that are going to be revealed in the future of the story. It is emphatically not intended for someone experiencing the game for their first time.
Last time in chapter 3, Kaito ditched the training that would have helped him feel at least a little better thanks to his delightful idiotic selflessness, Maki and Shuichi discussed why Kaito has been good for them (hint: not because he’s invincible) and Maki started opening up just a little about her awful past, the student council became a dictatorship, and Kaito was still not able to properly be himself despite trying as hard as he could.
Now it’s free time again.
Kokichi:  “I went to check on the manhole, but it was covered in debris. But Gonta’s simple. Do you think he’d move it for us if we gave him a little nudge?”
Like you actually care about that tunnel when you never did before. When you were the one to manipulate everyone else out of even thinking about trying it again, because you’re a coward.
(The game designers actually did put rubble on the manhole, for the record.)
Gonta:  “Oh, Shuichi… Um… Gonta is member of student council now… Angie tell Gonta, he need to set good example. So Gonta no can spend time with you! Sorry!”
Oh, Gonta. Of course he wouldn’t question it, but it makes blatantly no sense how him not hanging out with Shuichi could be “setting a good example”. Surely the best way for him to set a good example would be to actually hang out with Shuichi and spend the time acting in the proper student council way (whatever the hell that is) so that Shuichi can learn from that example? Angie doesn’t care about setting a good example at all and is just manipulating Gonta.
But it’s not just Gonta – literally everybody in the student council will refuse to hang out with you today. The others who aren’t Gonta don’t even give you a reason; they just tell you to go away and leave them alone.
So, given that plus the fact that Kaito is also still holed up in his room feeling too unwell to hang out, this means that for today’s two free time slots, there are only four options out of the eleven surviving non-Shuichi characters: Kokichi, Kiyo, Miu, and Maki.
It should go without saying that there is only one correct choice here. There is no conceivable universe in which Shuichi, if left to his own devices and not controlled by a player with separate opinions from him, would actively choose to spend his free time with any of Kokichi, Kiyo or Miu in this situation. I could maybe imagine him deciding to tolerate one of them if they were his only options, but not when there’s also the option of him spending time with a Maki whom he’s already started to become friends with.
That’s part one of the reason I didn’t hang out with Maki yesterday. Part two is that Maki’s FTEs are written such that her third one and onwards clearly canonically take place only after a specific scene in chapter 4. So the only way for today’s two FTEs to make any sense in terms of keeping Shuichi in character and in terms of keeping their contents in line with canon is if they’re spent doing Maki’s first and second events. That’s why I couldn’t do them yesterday, and that’s what we’re doing today.
Maki:  “If you want to know my job, then I don’t mind talking about it. It won’t be a problem.”
Implying talking about something else might be a problem? Perhaps it’s not a surprise her first FTE is spent talking simply about the logistics of how her job works – that’s easier to talk about than how she feels about it, and much easier than talking about her normal life back at the orphanage that she can never have back.
Maki:  “It’s a new cult. From behind the scenes, it trains assassins.”
Shuichi:  “Th-That sounds… made up.”
I don’t know if you’re noticing a pattern here, Shuichi.
Also, remember your alligator hunt? Your own past sounds a little bit made up too.
Maki:  “There are several assassins besides me, but no one is devout. We don’t really get along with each other anyway, so I wouldn’t know.”
It’s implied later in Maki’s FTEs that all of her cult’s assassins are child slaves like her. It’s a shame they couldn’t be friends and help each other through this awful ordeal… but of course their training would condition them not to think of each other that way.
Maki:  “When the time comes, assassins will be cut and disposed of.”
…That and getting attached to a fellow assassin in this cult sounds like a recipe for heartbreak anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised if the cult leaders dealt with any troublesome friendships between their assassins by forcing the friends to fight to the death and keeping whichever one survived.
This line is also, of course, implying that the cult was just going to kill Maki off once she was no longer useful to them (possibly when she reached adulthood and was therefore too likely to start thinking for herself and fighting back?), so that’s a thing.
Shuichi:  “…” (Her tone hadn’t changed. She’s just accepted it. …What did I say to put her in that state of mind?)
It wasn’t you who did that, Shuichi! It was the awful people she works for! She’s had no choice but to accept it; it’s the only way she can cope with it.
Kokichi:  “Aw, maaan, stupid student council! Maybe we should just get Maki to ‘clean’ them up!”
Oh, so now you’re okay with the fact that Maki’s an assassin, when she’s only potentially going to kill someone who’s inconvenient to you and not you yourself? That’s noble of you.
If you try and talk to Tenko here, you catch her looking really worried for a second before she snaps herself out of it and goes into I’m-totally-on-the-student-council mode. Probably worrying about Himiko, heh.
Gonta:  “…Sorry! Gonta no can spend time with you… Cuz Gonta member of student council. Shuichi… will you join student council? Please? If everyone join… we all can spend time together with Atua.”
Aww, Gonta! He really wants to be able to spend time with Shuichi and thinks that the only way for that to be possible is if Shuichi joins the council too. He has no comprehension of how fucked up it is that Angie is forbidding him from being friends with half of the people here as a price for him getting to “be useful”.
(He’s also hanging out in the room with the manhole, making me wonder if he’s sort of regretting covering it up.)
Maki is hanging out under the terrace at the training spot, which makes me smile.
Maki:  “…Is Kaito alright? He complains about others, but he can’t even take care of himself… Irresponsible idiot…”
Look at Maki being worried about Kaito! She really is a lot more caring than she thinks – and cares about Kaito a lot more than she lets on considering that she claimed two nights ago she was only training to stop him from bugging her.
She’s also completely right. Usually when someone calls Kaito an idiot I try and argue that that’s not quite the right word, but, in this context? No, his inability to look after himself – to even want to try to – really is incredibly stupid of him.
Maki:  “I mostly have knives. Also poison, sniper rifles, jiu-jitsu, bombs—”
Maki’s go-to weapon of choice being a knife is certainly going to be relevant later, as is the fact that she knows a thing or two about poisons. (No mention of crossbows, though. Apparently that’s not a common one for her.)
Shuichi:  “…So what kind of people have you assassinated?”
Maki:  “What do you mean?”
Shuichi:  “Well, I only know about assassinations from movies and stuff, so…”
Maki:  “…This will probably disappoint you, but I don’t kill only bad people.”
Shuichi:  “…”
Maki:  “I kill anyone on my orders list. It doesn’t matter who the person is.”
Shuichi:  “I suppose that’s just the way it is.”
It kind of sounds here like Shuichi was fishing for a reason to try and think that Maki’s not such a bad person because maybe she only kills bad people – and Maki picked up on that and deliberately shut him down. She could easily have instead talked about the reasons she kills people and the fact that she really has very little choice in the matter, but she didn’t, because she still feels like Shuichi should think she’s a bad person.
Maki:  “…But, I’ve also had to dispose of people who I knew well.”
Shuichi:  “Huh? Like who?”
Maki:  “Friends from school.”
…This is probably part of the reason she feels that way. It turns out she’s only talking about one single friend, someone who was the daughter of a yakuza leader, but still. Couldn’t the assassin cult have given that job to a different assassin? No, they probably wanted her on the job because she already knew the target well and they didn’t give a fuck about how she felt because their child slave assassins are just tools to them. God damnit.
(More to the point, god damnit Tsumugi not easing up even a little on the mountain of awfulness you’ve given this poor girl to deal with.)
Shuichi:  “Just make sure you don’t forget her.”
Maki:  “Why are you looking at me like that? I don’t have time to remember every face I killed.”
I think it’s less that she doesn’t have time than that if she remembered every single person she’s killed then the weight of that guilt would absolutely crush her. She’d obviously try and make a point to not remember them as much as possible, simply so that she can keep going.
Maki:  “But… I actually do remember her. Is this… …No, it’s nothing.”
…But of course a friend that she’d killed would be someone she couldn’t forget even if she tried to. This is you regretting it, Maki, and feeling bad about it, because you’re not a heartless killer who kills without remorse, however much you try and tell yourself you are.
Maki:  “Everyone does what they can to live. You, me… and everyone I’ve murdered. I kill. But I can also be killed. That’s all.”
This is actually a really respectable mindset for Maki to have, given that she’s an assassin. She fully accepts that the people she kills had reasons to live and yet she killed them anyway – and in order to not be a hypocrite about that, she also accepts that she can be killed at any time despite her own reasons to live. (Said reasons are, of course, the kids at her orphanage, not that she’s ready to talk about that yet.)
Nighttime comes around again, which means more training… and more Kaito not feeling well enough to train.
Shuichi:  (I’m worried about him…) “I wonder if Kaito’s okay… I hope he’s feeling a little better.”
Can we take another moment to appreciate how adorable it is that Shuichi is this worried about Kaito. They are friends.
Kaito:  “O-Oh, hey bro… Perfect timing. I gotta apologize to you, too…”
Kaito, you’re not supposed to apologise when something’s not your fault.
So here’s part of the reason I kept stressing Kaito’s convictions about apologising – because as it turns out, under certain circumstances, he will break his own principles on this and apologise more than he believes a person should, even when he hasn’t done anything wrong. Specifically, the times when he does this are when he feels like he’s let his sidekicks down. No matter how much he didn’t want to do so, no matter how much the reasons for him having done so aren’t remotely his fault, it’s still something he feels like he has to apologise for, just for having done it at all.
Recall how the main reason Kaito believes you shouldn’t apologise when something’s not your fault is so that you don’t go making yourself feel bad for no reason. But when this is applied to him? Apparently he doesn’t care about not making himself feel bad unnecessarily. If he let down his sidekicks, even though he never meant to, then he should feel bad about it, right?
(This isn’t the first time he’s apologised for this, either – it just seemed most appropriate to talk about it here, since he’s making a point that he believes he has to apologise. No, Kaito, you don’t.)
Kaito:  “It’s pathetic, but… I haven’t been able to eat or sleep much since yesterday.”
It’s not pathetic! You’re sick! That’s not your fault and not something to be ashamed of!
Part of this is down to the fact that the real reason for him feeling this way is his phobia, and Kaito feels like he should be able to not let that get to him so much and stop him from functioning normally. But no, that still counts as him being ill, just in a mental illness sort of way instead, so it still isn’t his fault.
Mind you, even his phobia wasn’t involved, I feel like Kaito would be calling himself pathetic anyway, just for being sick and having the sickness hinder his ability to do stuff. Which, you know, given that he is also physically sick and that’s going to be affecting him more and more from here on, is pretty relevant.
Kaito:  “I think I’ll get better if… I just rest a little longer, y’know?”
This sounds sensible. This would be Kaito dealing with his sickness in a reasonable way and making efforts to take care of himself, if he really was just physically ill.
But since that’s not what’s wrong with him right now, this is actually almost entirely an excuse so that he can hide away in his room and not risk letting Shuichi and Maki see that he’s scared of ghosts, which he believes is even more pathetic of him than just being sick. After all, I went over yesterday how him coming to train with them would be more likely to help him feel better about this than staying shut up in his room. And we know that when he really is just sick and nothing else and absolutely should be looking after himself and resting, he won’t even try to.
Shuichi:  “Yeah… sure, Kaito. Do what you have to do.”
Shuichi is smiling and being glad that Kaito is going to look after himself. Man, he has no idea how much of an idiot his friend really is.
Kaito:  “We’d have to reschedule our training sessions either way, come to think of it… The student council said being out after nighttime was prohibited, right?”
This is so unlike Kaito and it’s heartbreaking. He would never usually let anyone push him around and tell him what to do. His phobia really is just draining his emotional strength in a way that absolutely cannot be his fault, because if he had any control over it, he would refuse to let this happen to himself.
Maki:  “If you’re feeling sick, that’s one thing. But I don’t want you to change the training schedule. You don’t… need to do that.”
And I love that Maki realises just how unlike Kaito this is and she hates it! It was Kaito’s indomitable stubbornness that got through to her and convinced her to change in the first place. She hates that he seems to be compromising that part of himself now. If he’s not really that ridiculously stubborn person after all, then why the hell did she even begin to change?
Maki:  “…Do you want to die?”
Shuichi:  “D-Die!?”
Maki:  “Oh, sorry… That’s an old habit. Just pretend you didn’t hear that.”
Here’s the first instance of her catchphrase! That’s a landmark. Let’s appreciate: A, how fucked-up it is that she developed this catchphrase at some point during her training presumably as some kind of twisted black comedy coping mechanism, and B, how safe she feels around Shuichi and Kaito by now that she’s able to let herself use it in front of them without being afraid they’re going to think she really wants to kill them.
Maki:  “Anyway… I don’t want to give up now. I’ve finally started to think about… how I can confront it. So… if I have to train alone, so be it.”
She’s talking about her “enemy”! She’s really committed to figuring out how she can get stronger and find a way to like herself, and she’s thinking of these training sessions as a way to help her do that! Kaito has been so, so good for her!
…And Kaito’s apparently in too much of a state to even respond to that and be able to feel proud of how far she’s come already, which makes me sad. Hopefully he still noticed it, though? That can be something for him to think about while he’s cooped up in his room, to take his mind off the resurrection ritual and get his phobia to leave him the hell alone.
Shuichi:  “…Maybe it’s just because you’re not feeling well, but this is really unlike you, Kaito. I never imagined that you would obey Angie. I thought you did whatever you wanted.”
Shuichi also cares about how Very Not Kaito this is of him! Don’t worry, Shuichi – it is just because he’s not feeling well. He would never compromise his principles if he had any control over it.
Kaito:  “Shuichi, I’m sorry, but… can I leave the training to you until I’m feeling better?”
I can’t be completely certain because this is one of those ways in which English is ambiguous, but… I’m pretty sure that’s meant to be a singular “you” there. (When Kaito uses a plural “you”, he usually says “you guys”.) It’s almost like he’s asking Shuichi to take his place and be the figure of support and motivation for Maki’s growth. Like he wouldn’t ask Shuichi and Maki to support each other, because he feels like Shuichi doesn’t really need as much support any more – but since Maki still does, Shuichi is enough of a “hero” that he’d be capable of providing it.
(And look at Kaito still apologising about not being able to be there for them himself.)
Shuichi:  “Maki, about Kaito… You shouldn’t worry about it. He’s just feeling a little weak because he’s sick, I’m sure he’s not—”
…not being such an irresponsible idiot that he’d flake out on the unshakeable stubbornness that convinced you to change in the first place, Maki. Again, Shuichi understands just how much Kaito cares about trying to back up his own words and that any appearances to the contrary are misleading. That if he doesn’t appear to be trying to do that right now, then there must be a really damn good reason for it and it’s not just that he doesn’t really care after all.
But before they can start training, Tenko shows up, and Maki gives her her most terrifying glare.
Tenko:  “You probably want me to leave, right? But… I won’t run away.”
[Maki drops the glare]
Maki:  “I’m not here to fight you… and I don’t think you’re here to enforce the curfew.”
Seems like maybe Maki was only glaring so terrifyingly to test Tenko, assuming that if she was here on behalf of the student council then it would have scared her off, and the fact that she stayed anyway means that she’s here for a more important reason. It is pretty brave of Tenko to be asking Maki for help, and to not break under her terrifying glare, after she showed signs of feeling threatened by Maki earlier in the chapter.
Maki:  “You’re not brainwashed… Does that mean you willingly joined the student council? That sounds… worse.”
Pfft, that’s just like Maki to think that – being brainwashed wouldn’t be her fault, but joining it willingly would just be her being stupid.
Tenko:  “I only believe in Aikido! As long as I have that, I can’t be swayed by anything! Aikido values mental fortitude, and Aikido moves are a reflection of that fortitude.”
Look at how much Tenko cares about sticking to her convictions! Have I mentioned how much she and Kaito would get along swimmingly if it weren’t for her stupid annoying prejudices.
(Which have barely been brought up at all in this chapter, by the way, and I very much appreciate that. Again, this chapter’s writing is worse in a lot of regards, but significantly better with how it handles Tenko.)
Tenko:  “I think… Himiko has gotten so lazy, she’s given up on thinking for herself…”
It’s a shame that not even Tenko understands the fact that Himiko’s problem isn’t that she’s lazy but that she’s horribly depressed. Laziness as bad as Himiko’s doesn’t exist. That’s just what people call depression when they don’t realise what it is.
Tenko:  “Angie… truly believes in Atua. She believes that she is under Atua’s protection. That’s why… she does whatever she wants. She thinks she’s Atua’s vessel, so she doesn’t feel guilty about anything she does.”
And that’s Angie’s character. At the very least, there’s no active malice about her, but even so, she’s deluded into believing that her whims are always right and she doesn’t have any culpability for her actions. So still not a great person.
Maki:  “And that’s why you want me to kill her?”
Shuichi:  “Huh!?”
Maki:  “Asking someone like me for a ‘favor’ can only mean one thing.”
Maki, no! Even though she’s been making some progress, she still sees herself as just a tool that others use to kill people and assumes that’s surely the only reason anyone would ever want her help. How could she possibly ever help anyone in some way other than that? Guh.
Tenko:  “I… won’t deny that. I’ve wanted her gone even before all this happened… And I think everyone has wanted someone to die at least once in their life… But going through with it is a different thing! It’s wrong for a person to commit murder! It doesn’t matter what the reason is!”
I really like this! I like that it shows that Tenko’s not a perfect person and her jealousy of Angie getting more of Himiko’s attention has led her to have some pretty dark, twisted thoughts – but she’s still a good enough person in her principles that she would never even consider consciously acting on those thoughts.
This is also setup for the part in the trial where people start suspecting that Tenko killed Angie and then herself – in order to move past that assumption, Shuichi has to trust that what Tenko is saying now is the truth. Which it is.
Maki:  “Do you… realize who you’re talking to?”
Tenko:  “Oh! I’m so sorry! That’s not what I meant…”
Apparently Maki took Tenko’s speech as an attempt to guilt trip her specifically. It’s not like Maki doesn’t also believe killing is wrong, but she still hates herself enough for doing it that she feels people have every right to attack her for it and automatically assumed Tenko was doing that. In reality, to someone not in Maki’s position, it’s pretty clear that Tenko’s speech was mostly to herself, to remind herself that her desire to see Angie dead is wrong and stop herself from acting on it.
Tenko:  “That’s why I came to ask you two! You’re the only ones who can stop Angie!”
Shuichi:  “Only us?”
Tenko:  “Well… I obviously can’t ask Kokichi, Miu, or Kiyo. And Kaito’s not feeling well, y’know?”
Look at Tenko considering her best options to include Shuichi and Kaito without a single comment about how male they are! And treating Kokichi and Kiyo like bad options because they’re shitty people and not because of their gender! Tenko is at her best when the writers completely forget about her stupid prejudices and I wish they were just never a thing at all.
Shuichi:  “We didn’t even answer yet!”
Tenko:  “Grghhhhh! Quit complaining and do this favor for me, you degenerate! I’m even bowing to you! And I would never do that for any male!”
…Well, mostly. At least the writing acknowledges that she’s willing to put aside her prejudice for this.
Maki:  “So what will you do, Shuichi? This seems like something you’d ignore.”
Shuichi:  (This is something I’d ignore? Who do you think I am…?)
…Apparently Maki isn’t a great judge of people? I don’t see why it shouldn’t be pretty clear to her by now that Shuichi would care about stopping the potential motive. I guess she’s mostly seen the meek, nervous Shuichi that he is outside of investigations and trials and assumes that he’d be too passive to take action here.
Man, those Flashback Lights can do some serious work if they can make an ordinary, untalented person into someone capable of creating these near-perfect waxworks of people who aren’t even there anymore for her to use as reference. This is one of the parts of the whole implanted-talents thing that’s a little difficult to buy, but, eh, let’s just go with it.
Maki:  “You do such cruel things so innocently.”
That’s saying a lot coming from Maki… or maybe not, as someone who has done plenty of cruel things herself but who had to become so, so far from innocent to be capable of doing them. She still realises that they’re cruel, and she still sees this – creating lifelike representations of their dead friends – as an act of cruelty even though she herself is probably desensitised to it and not as creeped out as the others.
Maki:  “You try persuading her first. Detectives are good at talking, right?”
Shuichi:  (I feel like she might have some misconceptions about detectives… But I know Maki isn’t very good at persuading people. So it’s up to me.)
Look at Maki again assuming she’s worthless at doing anything except killing people. She probably wouldn’t actually be that bad at persuading people if she tried – she has a very blunt, pragmatic way of approaching issues, but that can be kind of useful sometimes.
Shuichi also isn’t the greatest at persuasion either. Too bad the most persuasive person they have is currently shut away in his room not feeling like his usual self.
Shuichi:  “The effigies were nearly perfect, but the real bodies still had traces of a soul. A soul desperate to live, struggling, fighting for life… That’s something that can never be replicated.”
This is a bit of a weirdly poetic way of putting it, because I’m going to assume Shuichi isn’t being completely literal here. (Kaito would balk at hearing his sidekick talk like souls are things that really exist.) I imagine what he really means by this is that looking at the bodies gave the sense that they were once alive, and you can’t copy that by creating a fake body that was never alive at all.
Shuichi:  “No matter what technology you have, you can’t fake a soul.”
…Not quite in the way Shuichi is thinking of it, you can’t. But Flashback Lights can create entirely new “souls” and shove them into living bodies to overwrite the one currently existing there, as it turns out. Even “souls” that are exact copies of previously existing ones, if one wanted that. So in a sense, the technology to fake a soul actually does exist here.
Angie:  “Hmm, are we done talking now? Cuz I’m still busy preparing for the ritual.”
What other preparation is there to do? All that’s left is to burn the Necronomicon and sprinkle its ashes on Rantaro’s effigy. If Angie went to get a candle for that right now instead of randomly at 2am, then she wouldn’t get murdered tonight.
Angie:  “It’s safe to say that Tenko has betrayed the student council, right?”
I don’t think she’s realised that Tenko was never even on board in the first place. Not that she actually cares about being betrayed, because she doesn’t care about anything except her own whims, and Tenko’s trust or betrayal has no bearing on that.
Himiko:  “Nyeh!? She betrayed us!? That sounds like a big problem, but if you’re saying ‘it’s nothing’, then…”
Himiko shows up and hears this and seems to actually care about being betrayed for a moment – you know, like a person with feelings would – before slipping back into being brainwashed and worshipping Angie.
Tenko:  “Please, snap out of it! Aren’t you a mage?”
Himiko:  “That hurts… let me go…”
Tenko:  “Himiko, why can’t you see that you’ve been brainwashed? If you can’t even see that, then… you’re not a real mage at all!”
I like how Tenko tries to appeal to Himiko’s belief in her “magic”. She knows that’s very important to Himiko, kind of like Tenko’s own belief in her Aikido that she was talking about earlier, or at least she’s hoping that it is and that this will help her get through to Himiko.
Tenko:  “Feeling angry? If you are, then show it! Get mad! Get upset! Yell at me! Just fight back already! Do something!”
It’s also sweet how Tenko wouldn’t even mind Himiko getting mad at her just so long as she starts showing some kind of emotion and facing up to her own feelings. I appreciate Tenko’s feelings towards Himiko the most when they cause her to try and help Himiko selflessly like this, without the ulterior motive of trying to get with her that Tenko seems to have half the time she does anything involving Himiko (but which, again, isn’t really a thing in this chapter specifically and I appreciate that).
Tenko:  “I-I’m so sorry! I can’t believe I just yelled at you!”
Because you had emotions, Tenko, and you acted on those, which is exactly what you’re trying to get Himiko to do! Don’t be ashamed of that!
Himiko:  “…”
(Himiko didn’t look Tenko in the eyes.)
Here’s a small indication that Tenko did get through to her a little bit and that she’s ashamed she doesn’t have the courage to do what Tenko wants her to and face up to her emotions.
Tenko:  “Augh… I know she’d never hate me, but she’ll demote me from best friend to just a friend!”
Maki:  “You guys were best friends?”
Tenko:  “Well, if you round up to the nearest whole number, we were basically best friends!”
Shuichi:  (I feel like you’re rounding up a little too much there…)
Yeeeaaaah, Tenko is absolutely deluding herself about how much she and Himiko are friends. At least Maki and Shuichi (and therefore the narrative, too) are aware of this.
Tenko:  “Don’t worry! I’ll use my own words to apologize to Himiko!”
Admirable as it is that Tenko wants to apologise to Himiko… if we go by Kaito’s logic regarding apologies, then she shouldn’t really do so. She still meant what she said about wanting Himiko to show her anger and would still stand by that now, and it did get through to Himiko just a little bit. Without Tenko’s outburst just now and her future, admittedly rather less heated speech about it just before she gets killed, Himiko might not have been able to change at all. That is absolutely not something Tenko should apologise for. Perhaps she should apologise for the way in which she said it here, but not for what she meant by it.
Maki:  “She bounced back rather fast… I guess I didn’t need to worry.”
Shuichi:  “Ah, you were worried?”
Maki:  “…Huh? Is it weird for me to worry?”
Nope! It’s really starting to look like it’s not weird at all to see that from you, isn’t it, Maki.
Maki:  “…Do you want to die?”
Shuichi:  “…Ah!” (There’s that habit again! Well, I suppose on the positive side, she’s able to act more like herself around me.)
Aww, Shuichi’s realised that Maki beginning to use that catchphrase is a sign of her growth, even if the phrase itself is kind of alarming until you get used to it.
Shuichi:  “But I’m glad.” (Especially now that I’m able to talk about things more with Maki.)
He’s glad that they’re becoming friends! Did you know this game is about friends.

If the V3 cast were to play Monster Prom, who would each character go for?
This is like, my third time trying to write this? I don’t know why it’s taken so many tries; it probably just has to do with getting cut off in the middle of the thought I was on. This may go a little more in depth then you thought it would, but that’s just because I want this to be as thorough as possible.
Tumblr media
If you’re interested in Monster Prom, I recommend either buying it or just watching a playthrough of the game before reading this. There are going to be spoilers for certain routes along with secret endings that you can get, so… there. Now that I’ve been super transparent about what this entails, let’s get started.
V3 Dating Some Monsters!
Since this is a MULTIPLAYER DATING SIM, here are the groups of people I think would probably play against each other:GAME 1 -Angie, Himiko, Tenko, TsumugiGAME 2 -Kirumi, Kokichi, Kiibo, KaitoGAME 3 -Shuichi, Kaede, Rantaro, RyomaGAME 4 -Korekiyo, Maki, Miu, Gonta
We’ll talk about each game from top to bottom, ok?
Himiko would be player one after everyone insisted that she gets it (”Nyehhh, what a pain, I have to choose first?”). After picking Brian (Green) because he looked super tired, she waited for everyone else. Angie ended up being player two, and went as Vicky (Blue) because of how cute and happy she looked. Tenko chose Amira (Red) afterward because she seemed like she wouldn’t take crap from anybody along with the fact that she was the only girl left to choose from. Tsumugi was left with Oz (Yellow), but she didn’t mind it much; she thought his simplistic design was perfect for her personality.
Himiko didn’t really go for anyone in particular on her playthrough, although she got the most events with Polly. She did seem to like Valerie (The shopkeeper) but didn’t know that she was romanceable. At the end of the game, Himiko ended up going to prom by herself, and had a good time.
Angie went for Miranda because of how devoted she seemed to be to her kingdom! It was very impressive, and she didn’t bat an eye when she ended up getting the throne ending! Nothing like releasing a kraken to sneak a fish man into the school. (Tenko was a little concerned by Angie’s decisions through this route though, and kept an eye on her for awhile.)
Tsumugi was the only person in the group to try and romance a male, and even then, it was because she already heard of a certain secret ending with Liam- “Liam The Weeb.” She was super excited that they put a character in a game that you could see develop a love for something she has, and also had a good laugh when she muttered to herself about him requiring yaoi hands. After successfully getting it at the end, she already had been thinking of fanfiction ideas for a continuation of this route.
Tenko tried to get with Vera! Unfortunately, she wasn’t the best at reading the situations, and her stats weren’t high enough, not to mention everyone else kept getting a table with her at lunch! How was she supposed to be stepped on with affection by the powerful snake lady?!? When she was turned down at prom, she felt her heart break a little bit, but attacked Himiko with a hug saying that she would be fine as long as the little mage was there.
Before anyone could decide who would be player one, Kokichi took a chance to be Oz, but named him Ligma because Kiibo would inevitably ask the question of, “Why would you name yourself Ligma?” and he was absolutely ready to laugh at his response to the epidemic of ligma. Kirumi went next, choosing Amira because she “seems like a capable young lady.” Kiibo got Brian before Kaito could object to playing a girl, but the astronaut soon got his second wind by saying that girl power would trump the guys. He held his hand out to Kirumi for a high five, which she hesitantly accepted.
“Ohhhh, I’ve heard how hard it is to get Vera! Don’t worry Kaito, there’s no way you cou-”
“I’M GONNA FUCK A SNAKE WOMAN AND NONE OF YOU CAN STOP ME.”
This is probably the most chaotic of the games due to Kokichi being able to egg on Kaito with no problem. Kokichi also decided to go for Vera, making it that much harder for Kaito. Kaito almost never got the lunch events with Vera, while Kokichi had his own agenda.
“You’re buying a used tampon? I know you’re messed up, but GOD, that’s a whole other level.”
Little did Kaito know that Kokichi had started the cult ritual secret ending, and was planning to finish it. After fumbling around with her and failing to live up to Vera’s expectations, Kaito got turned down at prom, and was pissed when Kokichi got the secret ending! Why hadn’t he been paying attention to what the midget of the group was doing?! He wasn’t sure, but Kokichi was having a good time cackling and “reassuring” Kaito that he was too dumb and not logical enough to have gotten her route anyways.
Kirumi liked how Liam carried himself, and was more than happy to try romancing him. She seemed to have relaxed while playing this game despite the constant bickering of the grapes in the room. With no failed events, Kirumi went to prom with Liam, and appreciated how secretly funny he was under his hipster demeanor.
Kiibo was being crushed constantly by Kokichi and Kaito after making the grave mistake of sitting between them. He did his best not to let that get to him, but he was distracted for the majority of the game because of him. Before he could choose the last question of the personality quiz at the beginning, his hand was knocked and he accidentally got started on Damien’s route. He spent the majority of the time asking Kirumi questions about if it was normal to be that angry and destructive. He was especially concerned about how Damien had dead bodies in his home! However, he successfully took the demon to prom.
(After his failure, Kaito spent hours playing the game and trying to get all the endings possible. He ended up getting stuck on romancing Valerie.)
From the very beginning of this game, Shuichi and Kaede promised each other that they wouldn’t get in each other’s way, and would help each other should special events requiring the extra boosts in affection come up. Rantaro was happy to do his own thing along with Ryoma. This was probably the calmest group of people to play the game.
Rantaro chose Oz before others could, just changing the name to his own so that no one would get confused. Shuichi chose Amira, but Kaede asked if she could change the name for him without him looking. When he eventually turned back, he was named “Sweetchi
Rantaro decided he liked how excitable Polly was, and how every event with her was like an adventure. He liked being a part of her party scientist shenanigans, and watching her tell a sugar daddy to marry a llama. Which he did. He got the secret Party Science ending with her, and was super calm. Originally though, before dating Polly, he really hoped that Aaravi The Slayer was romanceable.
Kaede accidentally started the Blobert route, which made everyone’s day (”you can date… a blob with a hat?” “You’re just jealous of his hat, aren’t you?”). Getting to give everyone ridiculously specific greeting cards, including a corpse. Regardless, she was super happy to hear how much everyone loves Blobert, and decided that he would always be her favorite. (Shuichi was taking some mental notes through this playhthrough.)
Shuichi ended up going to prom with Miranda as a ghost. It was an accident that he even got on her route, and he still wanted to at least have a successful run. He went to the shop and saw the ghost costume, he was too interested to not buy it. Going through all the cutscenes, he thought Liam getting frustrated was a little cute (Though he wouldn’t dare admit that to anyone) and was happy when he managed to go to prom as a spooky little guy!
Ryoma saw the gentleness in Scott’s heart, and was taken by it. he wanted Scott to be the happiest boy in the world and stay unaware of the hardships that come with life. He ended up successfully going to prom with the werewolf, and was surprised at how fun it was to play a game with other people at the same time. He could probably get used to this.
“I don’t care what fuckin’ player I am, titless- just lease me the fire girl because she’s SMOKIN’ like yours truly!”
“... I think I’m already regretting playing this game with you.”
After Miu made a big deal out of it, she ended up with Amira. Maki chose Vicky, changing the name to her own. Korekiyo chose Brian, but named him Shiso Asobi. once again, no one knew what was with the ridiculous name. Gonta was left with Oz, but he had no problem with that! He did, however, have problems with changing his name. His hands were a bit too big for the keyboard.
“REVERSE ROMANIAN WILKINSON? I don’t know what she’s on, but I fuckin’ LOVE her!”Miu was all over Polly and how ridiculous she could be, including her Reverse Romanian Wilkinson ending. She wasn’t sure what the penguin mask was for along with the guacamole and bag of beads, but just imagining what it was getting her hot all over. She successfully pulled it off, and then proceeded to bother Kiibo about trying it with her.
Maki was attracted to the way Scott acted like a certain astronaut she knew, so she just couldn’t ignore him. getting the correct choices on his route was super easy for her, and she smiled just enough to get Miu on her case for a little bit. At the end of the game, she wondered if she’s been wanting a man who’s essentially like a puppy.
Gonta didn’t want to romance anyone! He just wanted to have the best time he could making people happy. Unfortunately for him, his actions brought him to the orgy ending. He wasn’t sure what it was, but he was asking everyone around him why they weren’t wearing clothes. Miu was yelling angrily because she hadn’t been informed that such a route even existed, and Maki just sighed out of frustration. Korekiyo wasn’t surprised given the rest of the games content, but he found humor in Gonta being the one to get such an ending.
Korekiyo wasn’t originally going after anyone. He just wanted to experience what it was like to play a game about dating people with, well... other people. However, when he basically summoned a powerful monster from the totem of zgord, he changed his playing style to fit accordingly. With a high enough charm stat and being able to take a tentacle monster to the prom, everyone was slightly disturbed, besides Miu. She just wished that she could be a part of that action.

Title : T like Trust ( and Troublemaker )
Author : @serahne
For : @neapolite
Prompt : “Shuichi’s type, in a certain someone’s words, is busty, blonde haired girls, who wear pink.”
Characters & Ships : Shiichi Saihara/Kaede Akamatsu, Kokichi Ouma, Miu Iruma. The rest of the ndrv3 is there, too.
Author’s note : What a cute prompt it was, perfect for a Christmas romantic comedy ! Writing Kaede was really enjoyable, and I’ll hope you’ll like it ♥
It was the week before Christmas, and almost everyone was gathered in the dining room to enjoy Kirumi’s special cookies. The room was pleasantly warm, and while it would be a lie to say that everyone was getting along in the most friendly way, an atmosphere of celebration was filling them.
As for Kaede, she was busy organising the Christmas party they would throw on Christmas Eve. Eight days from then on would be the first ‘true’ party they planned since they were in the Academy ( they had actually did a little something for Himiko and Kaito’s birthdays, but half of the group hadn’t bothered to attend it ), and they all hoped it would be a happy moment - something that would allow them to forget that they had all been kidnapped and were now retained in the strangest place.
“So, what do you all think ?” Kirumi came out of the kitchen, not a stain on her dress or an hair out-of-rank. “I might need a few more tries to find the perfect balance between the different flavours, since I’m not used to the instruments in the kitchen.”
“Nyeh” Himiko let out, mouth full. “If -ou need peofle to tchy you- cooching I’m voluntcheer…”
“Himiko !” Tenko said, as intense as always “You need to swallow before talking, or you are going to choke !”
“Don’t worry, Himiko” Angie sing-songed in turn. “If that happens I’ll make sure to pray to Atua to grant your soul a platinum access to Heaven !”
Kaede was surprised by how relieved by it Himiko seemed - nevertheless, she didn’t open her mouth and started to chew methodically. With a soft smile, the Ultimate Pianist turned toward Kirumi
“These are delicious, really !” she said. “You are amazing, Tojo-san ! I’ve already baked a few things for my friend outside, but it’s never as good as that ! Would it be okay for you to teach me ? I know you must be very busy…”
Kirumi bowed shortly.
“This would be my pleasure. Though, really, as long as you are living here, I can take care of any request you would have. I’m very glad that you all seem to find my cooking… acceptable.”
Of course, K1-B0 felt the need to butt into the conversation with his usual self-pitying expression.
“I wish there was a way for me to enjoy the cookies too. Despite being here, I feel excluded.”
Kaede and Rantaro didn’t lose a second to reassure K1-B0 that he belonged in the group just as much as anyone else, while Miu rolled her eyes and took another cookie from the plate, grumbling that ‘she would take his part, since she needed sugar and to feed her amazing brain and fat to feed her amazing tits. No one decided to dwell too much on that.
“I’ll keep the rest in the oven for the rest of us” Kirumi said. “I didn’t see Shuichi, Gonta, or Kokichi this morning, this is quite strange.”
“Yes, it is !” K1-B0 said. “Though the one I’m worried the most about is Ouma-kun. He seems to enjoy playing the troublemaker. He selfishly creates more work for Tojo-san. Someone should really talk to him about it.”
As if on cue, the doors of the dining-room suddenly slammed open to reveal Kokichi Ouma. From the smile on his face, Kaede could swear that he was up to no good. She smiled at the thought that she was already starting to read the others better - whether she was just getting used to them, or Shuichi’s detective skills were starting to spread to her. She liked the second hypothesis better.
“Whatever you were saying about me” Kokichi said, walking swiftly near the table and stealing a cookie on the plate Kirumi was holding “It’s probably the absolute truth ! But now that you boring people are done with the gossip, I have something that you are all going to find interesting ! Nishishi, you can see it as an early Christmas present !” He announced proudly.
Kaede tilted her head on the side, curious. Yes, Kokichi could be annoying, but she knew he could also be smart when needed. And, well, they had been in this school for weeks, now. Nothing had happened after the first motive to have them kill each others had completely failed. Not that she was unhappy about it. Days could be long, and she was restless.
“Do you have any info about the way to get out ?” She asked.
“Nope, better ! Look at this !”
With an immature ‘tadah !’, Kokichi threw something on the table, and it slid on the middle of it. It was a small notebook. Nothing was standing out about it, it was just small, black, without anything written on it.
“Is it a Death Note ?” Tsumugi asked, worried. “Is that Monokuma new motives ? Because I can feel it work on me already - no one can resist testing the Death Note.”
“Shhhhh” Kokichi replied. “It’s not Monokuma’s motive. It’s something a loooot more precious than that. Because what you are seeing now is….”
He paused a second, making sure that everyone’s attention was on him, and his face was suddenly split in a wide shit-eating grin.
“… Saihara-chan’s diary.”
And then, it was chaos.
*
“That’s a terrible thing to do, you know that, right ?” Kaede said in her most serious tone.
She was really trying to force Kokichi to understand that picking Shuichi’s lock and enter his room to steal his diary wasn’t something that normal, decent people did. She always tried to stay calm and patient when talking to the boy, partly because she knew that her getting angry was what he was after, partly because she enjoyed being the better person.
Could anyone blame her for that.
“Akamatsu-san is right” Rantaro said, and Kaede gave him a thankful nod. “You can’t just trample on someone’s privacy like that.”
“Uh ? What do you mean I can’t ?” Kokichi asked. “Isn’t it what I did already ? I stole Saihara’s diary, and I brought it there so ~everyone~ could enjoy what’s inside.”
“We are not going to read Saihara-kun’s diary” Kaede replied immediately. “He is our friend, and he trusts us. If he wants to say something to us, he will. We don’t need to read his secret thoughts, alright !”
It was really, really hard to not blow up. Think sonatas, she admonished herself. Not military march. Yet, it was easier to decide than to actually do it.
“Really ? Oh, man, and I went through all that trouble” Kokichi whined, falsely-annoyed. “I also thought you would be the most interested in reading it since you’re in it, after all.”
Kaede froze. I’m in it… Well, it made sense. Shuichi and Kaede spent a lot of time together. Since day one, they had helped each others, almost naturally. She couldn’t imagine how this whole adventure would have turned without Shuichi by her side. If Shuichi was writing about his days inside the Academy, of course Kaede would be in it.
“Probably a fuck-ton of erotic dreams, am I right ?” Said Miu - very loudly - with a snort. “Okay, now I’m like… half curious. Just to see what kind of crazy kinky shit this virgin is into. Maybe it could inspire me for my next invention !”
Kokichi turned toward her, deadly serious.
“Do you think anyone care what you think, you dirty whore ? I was talking to Kaede because it’s obvious that Saihara-chan is talking about her in his diary and…” Then he stopped, as struck by a sudden idea. “Wait… maybe not.”
“Maybe not ?” repeated Kaede. “What’s going on ?”
“Nishishi, oh man, this is amazing !” Kokichi laughed. “I wanted to mess with you a little because you and Saihara-chan are so chummy. See, the main information in the diary is that our little detective is actually in lurve, can you believe it ? He never says who he is in love with, though ! A blond-haired girl, dressed in pink ? Sounds like Akamatsu, and sounds like Ituma too. That’s what you get for being so un-original in your design.”
Kaede’s eyelashes fluttered under the surprise. Shuichi was… in love. But she hadn’t noticed. Well, he was a sensible boy, who blushed a lot, but she didn’t think… Was she a terrible friend for not noticing, or was Shuichi very good at hiding it ? Also… was what Kokichi say true ? If so, was Shuichi in love with her or with… Miu ?
She was confused, and she didn’t know which option was the best for her. Sure, she liked Shuichi and she enjoyed pushing the boundaries a little, and watch him being flustered, but love was…
Love was a serious thing. As a musician, she knew that more than anyone. Love could built empire and inspire an entire life. It could create and consume and wreck you into pieces. Was Shuichi really that passionate ?
“Blond hair, pink clothes ?” Rantaro repeated, trying to resolve the mystery. “That’s… vague. Are you sure there is no other hint about the person ?”
“You can check, you know ? You never believe me, and now that I bothered to bring a proof, you don’t even look at it ?” He sighed. “Good to know for next time ~ Anyway, he talked a lot about his secret love’s balloons, too. but I thought it was a polite conversation so I didn’t bring it up because I’m that considerate !”
“Tch !” Miu snickered. “Then who he was talking about is obvious ! Between Kaediot and me, only one of us have a pair of tits that are worth writing about. Not that I’m surprised that Poo-ichi is jerking off to me, I mean, who wouldn’t ?”
Everyone did their best to ignore her, but Kaede frowned at these words. She hadn’t noticed any interest on Shuichi’s part for Miu, anyway.
Well, maybe she could use her newly-acquired detective skills to investigate, right ?
*
“Good morning, Saihara-kun,” she greeted him when she found him absorbed in a book outside the dorm.
He raised his head and smiled at her. It was such shy, unassuming smile, as if he was apologizing to her already, that she almost wanted to lecture him about it, but she was a woman on a mission. Quietly, she sat beside him.
“Are you alright ?” she asked. “I was worried when I didn’t see you in the dining-room.”
Shuichi chuckled, embarrassed.
“I’m sorry for worrying you. I’m still not used to this routine of taking our breakfast together on mornings. Back at home, no one really cared, so I skipped it more often than not.” His expression turned thoughtful for a while. “I promise I’ll try to go tomorrow. As long as I’m here, I could try to catch good habits, right ?”
Kaede nodded, then remembered that she had something for Shuichi and looked for it in his backpack. She took out too pieces of cookies, wrapped into a napkin, and was glad to see that they were mostly intact.
“Here,” she says, handing them to Shuichi. “Tojo-san baked us some cookies, and I didn’t trust Momota-kun to not eat all of them before you could taste one. Ah, you can keep them for later if you’re not angry, of course !”
Shuichi seemed sincerely surprised - and touched - by the attention and Kaede felt her heart miss a beat. Do you think everyone forgets about you as soon as you leave the room, Shuichi ? The Detective took one of the cookies, and broke it in two, offering a piece to her.
“Let’s share one ?” He suggested.
She gladly accepted, and they ate their half-cookie in a comfortable silence. Kaede wasn’t sure if she had always been hyper-aware of Shuichi’s presence whenever they were close, or if it was all because of the incident in the dining-room, but she could feel the other’s warmth reach her, even though they weren’t touching.
Shuichi didn’t seem to share her trouble.
“That’s amazing,” he said. “I’ll have to thank Tojo-san when I see her.”
“I’m sure she’ll be happy to hear your opinion. It’s a trial batch, she is testing her skills for the Christmas party, you know ?”
The reminder of the future celebration seemed to break the peaceful atmosphere that had settled between the two of them.
“Oh ! The party, of course !” He said, turning toward her, very seriously. “Akamatsu-san, I’m sorry to ask you that so suddenly, but could I ask for your help ?”
“Eh ?” She blinked. “Of course you can ! We are a team, aren’t we ?”
He smiled at the answer.
“Thank you. I was thinking that I should find a gift for Miu,” he said.
Kaede froze. Maybe she wouldn’t have reacted that way the day before but now…
“That’s” she replied, her voice sounding awful at her own ears. “… Unexpected”
Was there even a reason to be jealous ? Shuichi and her weren’t… like that ? Right ? They always shot down everyone else’s remarks about how ‘lovey-dovey’ they were, laughing about it between them, then. But at the same time, she was used to be with Shuichi. She wanted him to get friends and to fit even more into the group, of course, but she didn’t want to compete for his attention.
What an awful friend she was, right ?
“It is, but I really wanted to thank her for her hard work. Thanks to her, we were able to install surveillance cameras in the library and to stop anyone from using the door behind the moving bookcase. We really dodged a bullet here. I just feel like we didn’t thank her properly, you know ?”
Kaede felt her entire body being filled with affection for the detective. It wasn’t the first time that she was floored by the boy’s kindness and caring nature - she had been on the receiving end of this kindness enough time to appreciate it - but in contrast to her own new ugly feelings, it was even more shaking. She didn’t know if Shuichi liked Miu like that, but if that was the case, she silently promised to support him, and to be the best friend possible.
“That’s a great idea !” she replied with genuine enthusiasm. “I’m glad you asked me to help you, maybe we’ll even have fun !”
Shuichi seemed a little overwhelmed by her reaction, but he eventually nodded, a frank, non-apologetic smile finding its way to his lips.
“Of course I would ask you, Akamatsu-san. We’re a team, aren’t we ?”
*
Thirty minutes later, Kaede was drowning under the gifts and still adding more to the pile.
“What about this one ?” Shuichi said, holding a piece of cake. “Everyone likes cake, right ?”
Kaede hummed, and threw away the flower that she had just unboxed on the pile before answering.
“Maybe, but there will be so much food at the party already. I’m not sure this will be at the level of Tojo-san’s delicious food.”
“Ah, probably not.” Shuichi’s shoulder slumped down. He sighed, and sat on the floor. “I’m losing hope, here. Does it matter, though ? I just can’t think of anything that Miu would like.”
Kaede kneeled down next to him, sympathetic.
“I’m sorry” she said. Then she bit her lips, pondering on if she should let out the words stuck in her throat. “That seems really important to you. I guess you really like her, uh ? I can understand, she is so bright and pretty.”
She could recognize that, at least. Shuichi shook her head.
“And slightly terrifying too.” He grimaced. “Maybe it’s a bad idea. I’m sure some people are going to think I’m doing that because I’m in love with her, and I’m starting to realize that I could spare me some of Ouma-kun’s mocking remarks.”
Kaede’s breath was cut short.
“So” she managed to say, anxious. “You don’t like Iruma-san ?”
“Like ?” Shuichi repeated. He laughed a little, trying to hide his embarrassment. “One part of me really admires her, but she isn’t my type.”
“Your type ? What’s your type then, Saihara-kun ?” Kaede asked, half-teasing half-serious.
Shuichi looks like he wanted ro run away.
“Ha… I mean, she is really beautiful, you’re right I just… it’s going to sound stupid, but I don’t think I could ever connect to her ? That’s the most important, right ? Finding someone you’re comfortable with and that you can laugh and share a lot of things.” His cheeks were so flushed, Kaede almost felt bad for asking. “I don’t even know why I’m answering, you must think it’s really cheesy.”
Kaede shook her hand and put her hand on Shuichi’s shoulder.
“No, I think you’re right. I’m sorry for asking, it was uncalled for. It’s just… Ouma-kun said something that lead me to believe you could like her. But if you tell me it’s not true, I have no reason to believe him over you. Because… I trust you, you know ?”
Shuichi looked at her, still red, but not as mortified that he couldn’t meet her eyes.
“Thank you, Akamatsu-san. You don’t know how much that means to me.”
*
Kokichi was alone in the dining-room and Kaede walked inside, decided to make light on the matter.
“Hi, Akamatsu !” The Ultimate Supreme Leader grinned like the Cheshire Cat. “Back so soon already ? I’m sorry but I’m scared that Momota-kun ate all the cookies that left. You can lecture him later if you want !”
Kaede didn’t answer him, and walked to the table where Shuichi’s ‘diary’ was, and reached for it, holding Kokichi’s curious stare all the way. With barely a second of hesitation, she flipped the notebook open.
Blank. Nothing. She smiled at Kokichi.
“Surprised ?” He teased her.
She still didn’t answer, threw the notebook back to the boy, and walked out of the door.
Surprised ? Not as much as she thought she would be, actually. She trusted Shuichi’s words more than any convincing proof. Because they were a team, right ?
