★ A3! New Characters "KICS" Details

Someone already TL'd these on Twitter but I figured I'd do my own TL over here for the Tumblr crowd!

These characters will appear in ACT4!, which is being released starting in spring 2024.

Towa Ichinoe (CV: Daigo Kato)

An extremely puppy-like boy who loves all of MANKAI.

Occupation: 1st Year at Hanasaki Academy

A huge ultrahigh-intensity fan of MANKAI Company and and oshi of Spring Troupe's Masumi. He attended middle school in the countryside, but convinced his parents to let him move to Tokyo. He also lives with his aunt and works part-time for her at a flower shop on Veludo Way. He loves rice.

Best Taiwan BL: My Tooth Your Love although I really adored DNA Says Love You and About Youth, the one fudged the beginning and the other the end (both are still v HEA) so My Tooth was the most consistent.

Best director: Kato Ayaka (Old Fashion Cupcake) she did a fucking phenomenal job, and yes she had two killer actors to work with, but I am such a sucker for those long shots plus the sensual foods close ups? GIIRLLLLLLLL. Gah!

Best kiss: honestly we had so many good kisses this year I have multiple blog posts going on the subject. But I am handing it over to the one that stuck in my head the most, Billy & Seng’s up against that chain gate with the damn blue towel sticking out of his back pocket in Secret Crush On You.

The desperation was just insane. But I might have given it to OFC if they hadn’t already won the director category. And I flipping LOVE the Kissable Lips boys BTS smiley kiss from 304: 100% should have been on screen for us.

Most beloved character: Shin MY PRECIOUS BEAN SPROUT

Best Pair: The Parks although I am also crazy about the To My Star and Kissable Lips boys. I really want more from all of them. Madness that it’s all Korea.

Best Ensemble: The Eclipse had a killer cast but I expect that from GMMTV. So for all it was a mess of a story Cutie Pie wins best casting from me. All 3 couples had such good chemistry. I don’t think any other multi-couple shows out of Thailand were that on point, not even KP.

Best siblings//family: My Ride, gotta hand it to the gay uncles and all the queer friends and the adopted son. Although DNA Says Love You was pretty darn great too.

Best Food: There were so many food ones this year (Ocean Likes Me, Old Fashion Cupcake, La Cuisine, but none were as good food-wise as Bite Me last year) so the one where I actually wanted to eat stuff the most? What Zabb Man. What can I say? I love sweets and ramen, but Thai food is my last best hope in life.

Best song: Eternal Yesterday’s OST Sunshower by Ayumu Imazu. I can’t believe Japan beat out Korea but I am sorry I just really fucking adore that song. I’m sucker for that raw slightly rough voice combined with Japan’s brusque style (and PINK hair).

But Leo’s I still from Happy Ending Romance is a close fucking follow up, that boy is dripping slightly-evil honey even in falsetto, he’s a perennially ignored goddamn gift to Kpop.

Chapter 146: Recap and notes

Finally Shura gets some new material to work with.

And it could be...delicious?

We start off with Lightning telling all team groups to limit communication and that the focus will be on Team A and B.

We have Rin, Yukio, Shura and Osceola working together. They turn up at the edge of the gate leading to Satan's heart. (not unlike the black gates to Mordor).

We notice that Osceola has a "snack" in his pocket. And it consists of Hellbane mushrooms and other "spices."

Now, when you look up hellbane mushrooms it has an interesting history. It was a powerful drug that was commonly used by viking berserkers to get into the fighting spirit. That spirit being that of a ferocious barbaric animal, using rage to fuel them. If Osceola eats that, he could become even more badass. One of the symptoms of the hellbane mushrooms is apparent howling. Lightning alludes to this, and warns Osceola not to use his "war cry".

Aka, his secret mushroom snack. From Osceola's little smile, we get the idea that he's totally going to use it. Lightning knows he'll use it too.

Now back to the gate:

There doesn't seem to be any B'aal waiting for the exorcists, but they soon finds themselves under attack by another group of high-powered demons that are Kin of Ibis. Amon and Asmodeus. Amon, is a powerful god from Egypt and Asmodeus the demon of lust.

These characters are interesting too, Kato takes a moment to give them some dialogue and development. Amon reminds me of Egyptian fashion Ken Mephisto. It's the hair for me, the thin physique and the extra bling.

Then we get Asmodeus.

Lust is a pervert. He's too busy being "iPhone guy" watching porn on his device to help in the battle.

Amon berats him for being a pervert. We find out where's he's been for all of these years. He was strung up by Ibis for peeping in on her bath.

Lust's character design is interesting as well, he looks like an attractive business man or banker? Perhaps, a archetype of what the ideal mate would look like. (But the truth hurts in this case, because naturally, the guy is a total prick. He represents what he thinks you want, only in reality he's shallow and basic.)

In juxtaposition, meanwhile, we have Osceola, who is just an awesome warrior and all around sweet-hearted guy in an enormous and ferocious body. From all accounts he's a non-judgemental mentor to other exorcists of his crew, which is why he was so good raising Lightning.

He takes an immediate interest in Rin and his knowledge of food.

He also attempts to mentor Shura. Despite all of her ability, and accomplishments she still doubts herself. But Osceola, gives her confidence. Telling Shura that her sword isn't an old relic but a fine sword forged by years of enduring extreme cold. He was trying to impart some hidden wisdom to guide her.

The sword and Shura are the same. Both are forged by years of coldness, but those trials have only made them stronger.

Speaking of strong, Amon was clearly no match for Osceola, and it's true what they say, that the power of the arc knights rival that of the B'aal.

Shura is no slouch either, yet her sword only has seven more slashes in it until it runs out of power. Her first move created a wall of ice to protect the other exorcists, namely team B which is Rin and Yukio.

After Team B is through, Shura gets knocked down and winded. Rin wants to stay behind and help Shura, but of course, Yukio focuses on the mission. It's probably wise, she's doing what's needed to get the mission to succeed. They don't have time to waste. But Yukio bugs me, he can't admit his feelings to anyone, even in Amori when he helps save Shura...he still refers to her as a mission. He needs a good swift kick in the ass.

Once the boys are gone, Shura is left to fight a new opponent.

Lust.

Now, what is Lust really like? Is he going to try and seduce her?

Most likely.

And my god...those hands...that's got my mind wandering. Imagine what he could do with those. But will he be a good lover?

Nah.

The guy has a porn addiction, that'll teach him nothing about female pleasure. (He most likely bangs like a hammer that consistently misses the nail. )

And let's be honest, Shura's going to clean the floor with this dude. And it's a nice metaphor for Shura's final transition into a confident woman. A woman that's comfortable in her own skin and confident in herself. Shura hasn't been able to own her sexuality, or even explore it. Sex meant her death.

Her entire existence was for the sexual gratification of a demon, achieved through the sexual gratification of a guy. A guy that would get her pregnant. Then she would die before her youthful beauty faded. She was like a carton of expired milk, not a human being with feelings, wants, dreams and talents.

Shura not only will battle the demon, but the personification of her forced hypersexuality as the manga's token object of desire for horny teenaged boys. Kato gave her character some poetic justice here.

I think it's funny, too that Lust has a snake for a tail. Snakes are symbolic of temptation, but I'm sure Shura can't be tempted. That's why she's such a pain in the ass for Mephisto, the B'aal of Temptation.

Another aside, Hachiro her former overlord was a big demonic Hydra and she took him out. This guy and his little snake won't be much of a fight. Shura's a snake charmer, a snake killer.

So, the question I have. Will Asmodeus be tamed by Shura and become the new demon in her sword?

Wouldn't that be fun?

what do you think about how tsukasa acting ? is his procedure some kind of method acting ?

during his acting, rui is commenting with concerned face about him "becoming" his character and tsukasa got "too involved" today (rui also think about the practice before, that tsukasa is doing fine with balance of his charatcer's shining but yeah he got too involved on chapter). i just think that if the story it has anything to do with this ? not just balance and ability to read the flow of the show but with tsukasa's procedure. method acting is such a risky procedure btw.

tbh i doubt that pjsk will touch this issue but still wonder what will be tsukasa's conflict during this act (plus the world link that gonna come around like march 2024, maybe SEKAI related conflicts ?)

Oooooh boy I was like clapping my hands when I saw that. Especially when Tsukasa was monologuing in his mind, the name in the text box is not Tsukasa but Nakayama. Like, holy he managed to be him. Good for you, Tsukasa! Nakayama is really alive! This feels like Rio all over again woohoo!!

But then Rui is like "oh this is bad" because Tsukasa's acting is too good he destroyed the balance of the stage. In other words, a supporting role needs to be in the background, but Tsukasa is too eye-catching so he just unnaturally stood out. Whoops. (Kato director also said that Tsukasa is a man who had light in him but an actor needs to learn how to tone it down and we know Tsukasa is anything but that, especially because he usually plays as the main character).

I think the reason why Tsukasa was able to balance Nakayama the supporting role and Nakayama the person in practice is because there is no audience. We know that Tsukasa always strives to be the best for all his audiences, so he just... got into too deep with Nakayama because he wants his audience to feel that Nakayama is alive. Bakuno also plays the supporting role because he wants them to be in the spotlight, but Bakuno himself naturally doesn't stand out that much and he thought of the supporting roles as companions. On the other hand, Tsukasa naturally stands out, so when he plays the supporting role as the main character and he got too deep into his role the supporting role also stands out.

I also think that his approach to acting is shifting now ever since Phoenix? I've read about method acting before (and I agree Tsukasa employs that tactic too), and I think you're right while Tsukasa is making leaps and bounds of progress he's also slowly going down a slippery slope. He's literally endangering his own health in his own quest to understand Rio after all and it's not... a really good thing imo. Somehow it feels like... Tsukasa is being swallowed by the characters? Like, he doesn't make those roles as his but he's the one that becomes them. I'm glad that Tsukasa has a strong sense of identity so he could go back to being himself after he stepped off the stage but what if one day he took it a bit too far? Like, in his own quest to perfect a role he hurt himself or others, or he internalized a character too much there's a shift in his personality or habit. Imagine if he plays as a horrible person and he's too deep in character? God, that would've sucked.

I don't know if proseka would discuss it but I hope they would at least discuss how to balance yourself and your characters with Tsukasa's plotline.

Panthera curtsies to them both too, of course. “The boy isn’t even a ‘boy’ anymore, baby-faced little brat or not,” Gorr snorts, then claps a heavy hand on top of Kato’s head and scruffs him roughly. Kato makes a happy rumbly noise in his chest and pushes into the contact.

“I suppose not, no,” Growler says thoughtfully. “I always forget, but it’s been . . . oh, how long since we caught him now? Before the wedding, obviously, so . . .”

“Uncle Gorr, you’re messing up Kato’s mane again!” Panthera scolds as Gorr keeps scruffing him. Gorr always messes up Kato’s mane, no matter how prettily she’s combed it. It’s terrible.

“No worries, Princess, of course he’ll fix it,” Howler says, smirking at Gorr, who rolls his eyes at him as Kato grabs his arm and then scrambles up him to perch on his shoulders like a hunting falcon. Panthera supposes it makes sense, since Kato goes hunting with Father and his men all the time.

“I’ll fix it, Princess,” Gorr agrees with a sigh. Panthera puffs out her cheeks a little bit indignantly, but she supposes that’s fine. Just Gorr isn’t very good at brushing Kato, so he never really fixes his mane all that well. She doesn’t want to tell him so, though, because she doesn’t want to make him feel bad about being bad at it.

But also if he’s always going to mess it up, he should be better at fixing it by now!

doing a study of Yuto Sano's art because i am obviously head over heels for it. Finally ! Some good Shura content !! <3

For the past few months, I've been complaining to some friends in private about being disappointed to see Shura rather casted to the side of the narrative, when the twins are still not able to communicate properly with each other (last month's chapter had more than one example). :/

In general, I'm a big fan of Shura's character, because she's one of the very few female mentors existing in Shonen series (protagonists, especially boys, are trained by older men in almost every Shonen series) and that was refreshing when I started the series something like 12 years ago. Shura gained even more depth with the Aomori arc explaining her past and rather unique circumstances and I loved her character development.

So I'm really happy to see her getting a bit more focus again, against the current foes.

If we first focus on the twins for this chapter, it really was interesting to see how they fell back into their old habit of respectively privileging people (Rin) and the mission (Yukio). It's yet another thing that might intensify the miscommunication that still exists between them, especially since both are really close to Shura.

For the record though, I don't blame Yukio at all for not stopping to help : the plan to defeat Satan & Illuminati is insane and that's why they have Team A opening the path for them.

Besides, Yukio has known Shura longer than Rin and he knows better than anyone what she's capable of. So rather than giving up on her, he's trusting her to survive (and I hope Rin will figure that out too). It's like in ch133, when he agreed to let her take the lead.

Lastly about her opponent, I'm 100% excited to finally read about Shura fighting against an opponent who is probably supposed to incarnate, like, every criticism she ever faced.

Like I said above, Shura is one of the few female mentors existing in Shonen series. However, unfortunately, she's also the typical "sexy older lady" that is way overrepresented in Shonen series. But now?

Hell, now, she's about to face this guy, the King of Lust, and I'm hoping that, through this fight, Kato-sensei might once more highlight that women in Shonen are more than boobs here to please the readers' eye.

Sure, they can be sexy, but they can also be mentors, fighters and most importantly they can also fight and defeat guys (because I'm super tired of the whole "girls will only fight girl opponents, teehee ❤" in Shonen series; I said what I said).

Can't wait for that fight, because I think Shura will prove to readers of Shonen series that you can be a badass girl and hand even the King of Lust his own ass. So go for it, Shura ! Show 'em what it's like to be Fujimoto Shiro's student and Rin's mentor !!

What’s an unpopular ship that you actually really like?

I don’t think these are SUPER unpopular as ships, but because they’re from lesser-known anime (that don’t have very active fandoms at least), here are a few!

Daisuke Kanbe and Haru Kato from The Millionaire Detective: Balance Unlimited (top Kato, because Daisuke is my favorite and that means he’s going to bottom LOL)—this anime is one of my favorites and I rewatch it a lot, especially that one episode where Daisuke is just a little baby boy who gets drunk and doesn’t know how to be poor.

Also the show ships them too here’s proof:

John Watson and Friday from The Empire of Corpses—absolutely devastating (and gorgeous) movie with an after credit that ruins everything, but gods will I watch it over and over for these two. There’s just something so erotic about a man bringing his best friend’s corpse back to life as a Frankenstein-esque monster and trying to make him human again. I’ve made a post about this one before when I’d first watched it (lmao I was traumatized), but I have a big weak spot for non-verbal characters, so Friday is my favorite. I wish there was an active fandom for this so I could see ship works for them! Also, one of my favorite animation styles of all time. Everyone looks so pretty.

Fushi and The Beholder from To Your Eternity—ehehehheheheheheh this one is a popular anime but not a popular shipper fandom. LET ME DREAM, THOUGH. I drew one work for it once, I’m qualified. (Also the non-verbal character strikes again [yes I was mad when he learned to speak like a normal person eventually])

Kaname Kuran and Zero Kiryu—NOT TALKING ABOUT THEM. DO NOT MAKE FUN OF ME‼️🫵

Gareki and Yogi from Karneval—I could ship Yogi with several men in this anime but that’s just because of Miyano Mamoru magic I’m sure…anyway if you haven’t seen this one ITS VERY GOOD. Idk if it got cancelled officially or what but I hope a second season comes anyway. Still worth it, regardless!

1. Are you named after anyone?

No, but my parents had an interesting way of naming my sister and me. If we were boys my mom got to name is, girls and my dad got to name us.

2. When was the last time you cried?

A couple days ago, I think. I cry a lot. 😅

3. Do you have kids?

Only of the animal variety! I actually got surgically sterilized last year because I am very happy in my role as aunt and cat mom. 💖

4. What sports do you play/ have you played?

If knitting were a professional sport I'd be an Olympian.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

Alllllll the timeeeee.

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

How nice they are. Not in the way that they might be mean, but that they might be too nice. If someone's too nice I don't trust them.

7. What's your eye colour?

Green!

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Always a happy ending! I actually can't tolerate scary movies at all.

9. Any talents?

I'm a very good knitter! And I think I'm an alright crocheter, but that's a much newer endeavor for me.

10. Where were you born?

Oregon, USA, born and bred!

11. What are your hobbies?

Knitting, crocheting, and a little bit of writing!

I have two kitty cats! A ginger tabby boy named Theo and a secret calico (she looks like a tortie, but she's got a white bikini on her tummy, a white chin, and white ankle socks) girl named Arya.

13. How tall are you?

5' 6" (and a half 😂)

14. Favourite subject in school?

Always the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) classes! Though I'm also a MAJOR supporter of adding the arts in that abbreviation to make it STEAM, because nurturing the arts is incredibly important for societal and personal progression and development.

15. Dream job?

To retire and volunteer at OMSI (the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). If you're ever in Portland, Oregon, you NEED to go to OMSI. It's the best.

When he was five, Tooru remembers jumping the highest.

“Get off the couch, Tooru, or you’ll fall down and hurt your knees,” his mother says as he goes for the jump. He’s on his tiptoes, a second away from the thrill of flying, when his mom catches him from door. Tooru flattens his heels against the cushions, straightens his back, and pretends that he wasn’t about to play hopscotch out of their couches. “And how many times have I told you that you’ll dirty the cushions with your feet! Those couches are meant for guests, you little rascal.”

Tooru cannot count the number of times his mother told him that, but that’s because it’s been millions and he can only count up to one hundred. Kato-sensei tells him that after hundreds is thousands, but his mom must have reminded him more than that. She’s been doing so for the last two weeks, ever since the day she came and picked him up from daycare sweaty and grinning, triumphant at his most recent win: he jumps higher than all the kids in his class!

Kato-sensei measured their heights last last week. All seventeen kids line up and wait for their turn. Their teacher has them standing straight agains the doorframe and places a sticker to mark each student’s height. Tooru’s sticker is a UFO. “Hey, Iwa-chan, what’s your sticker? A monkey? Why would you want a monkey?”

“It’s not a monkey, it’s Godzilla!” puffs Iwaizumi. He’s all red-faced and scrunched eyebrows, and Tooru tries hiding the giggles behind a hand at Iwa-chan’s funny face. Iwa-chan Hajime moved in the neighborhood with his family last summer. He’s a prickly little kid only a month (only a month!) older than him, but he’s a few centimeters taller than Tooru, and it’s the most unfair thing in the world. Tooru drinks all his milk (and eats all his milk bread!), and yet he’s still shorter than thirteen kids in his class–including Iwa-chan. And being taller than the other tree doesn’t count because they’re girls, and he knows that boys should be taller than girls.

“What’s your sticker even supposed to be?” asks Iwaizumi.

“A UFO.” Tooru waves the sticker in front of Iwaizumi for good measure. It makes Iwa-chan’s eyes squint and Tooru struggles to quiet down his bubbling laughter.

“What’s a UFO?” Iwaizumi asks, doubtful.

“It's what aliens use to get to earth, Iwa-chan, how do you not know?!” And he honestly thinks it’s the most awful thing that his next-door neighbor knows nothing of aliens and space and UFOs. “One day, they’re gonna stop above our house and cast this big huge magic beam over our front door,” Tooru says while throwing his hands around Iwaizumi’s space for emphasis. “And this beam would pull me up into their spaceship! And it’d be great Iwa-chan, cause then I’ll be floating. And maybe, since we’re friends, I might even call for you to go with me.”

Iwa-chan’s face turns all silly again at his invitation to go to outer space together, and Tooru’s about to tell him more amazing things when Kato-sensei calls for the two of them. They’re the only ones left who haven’t had their turns yet. Iwaizumi gets his height measured first, and Tooru follows soon after him.

Their stickers get placed on the doorframe like this: Iwaizumi Hajime. 110 cm. Oikawa Tooru. 108 cm.

At one-hundred-and-eight centimeters tall, Oikawa Tooru stands shorter than thirteen out of seventeen kids in his class, six of which were taller girls, one of which is Iwa-chan Hajime, and Tooru feels like crying at the unluckiness of it all. But he’s a big boy now, and he’s grown up from last year, and his mother says he’s too old for crying now, so he doesn’t cry like he wants too. Instead, he rips his UFO from the 108 cm it is sticked on, closes his eyes shut, and jumps in frustration to stick his UFO against the doorframe as high as he can–higher than 110 cm, higher than the tallest boy in his class, so much higher against the rest.

He gets scolded by Kato-sensei later when class ends, but it doesn’t do anything to stop Tooru’s good mood. He jumped highest! All the kids (even Iwa-chan, heh) tried copying him and reaching for his little UFO, but none of them reached close. Iwa-chan’s mom comes to the daycare to pick him up, and he waves happy little goodbyes to his friend. “Wait for your mom just a little bit, okay Tooru-kun? I saw her buy something from the convenience store on the way here. She won’t be long. Say bye Hajime.”

In the end, it’s only Kato-sensei and Tooru left, but he doesn’t feel like talking to Kato-sensei right now, so Tooru instead goes against the doorframe filled with colorful stickers once more. He takes out a star sticker from his uniform pockets–one that he’d been saving for something more important–and peels the sticker paper away. He holds it on the tip of his fingers, bends his knees, and raises his arm.

Then, Tooru jumps.

WHAM!

His palms hit against the wooden doorframe. And there it is, higher even than his own UFO. Higher, higher than the anybody else, the highest. A star above them all.

Today, as young as five-turning-six, Oikawa Tooru learns this: the budding anticipation as your knees bend for the jump, the thrill of having your feet off the ground, the effort of stretching your arm to great heights, the call of come to me as you open your palms, and the victory slamming against your hand as you reach what you want.

(Learns as much as his five-year-old candy-fueled brain can process anyway.)

An event (name) had been attending with his dad's since he was a child year after year.

Where high class criminals rubbed elbows and to maintain treaties and look at beautiful art at the museum it was held at.

Cameras off of course.

So it made sense that the most powerful crime organization in the country was there in all their glory, even Papa Mikey was dressed up for the occasion! The bonten men scattered about as men and women alike tried to schmooze with them for either money or to get in Bontens good graces. (Name) looked at the art with a soft smile, paintings from around the world in one room, statues that looked almost real and (name) couldn't keep his eyes away.

"They pale in comparison to you" a voice rang behind the young man, (name) not turning around to look at the person who now stood beside him.

Far more focused on the art work before him.

"They always said it's a different experience seeing their works up front than a picture on the internet, never believed them until now" (name) said simply while glancing at (historical artists) works "you can see the emotions with every brush stroke" (name) finally glanced at the other man, roughly his age and had a seductive smirk on his face and stared at (name) with a look he couldn't quite figure out.

"Oh, I met you last year" (name) said softly, voice even and a little quiet causing the other man to have to listen closer to his words over the live band across the exhibit "yes! I'm Kato Fujioka, of the Fujioka Trading interpise " the young man now known as Kato introduced himself and (name) just stared impassively "(name)" the young bonten boy replied, not picking a particular last name as he tends to alternate between the six last names of his collective parents.

"So what's a pretty thing like you all alone?" Kato asked flirtatiously, finding the Bonten son easy on the eyes and if he played his cards right, he might get really into bontens good books with the affections of their only son.

(Name) just raised an eyebrow and pointed at the art work as if to say 'looking at art?' and Kaito couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle at the others almost naive nature, but poor (name) just wanted to look at art honestly.

Kaito continued to follow son of bonten around and flirting endlessly, something not missed by (name)s father's.

"And what is my darling boy talking about?" Koko asked lovingly to his son, handing the 19 year old a glass of (alcohol free beverage) as Mochi and Kaku also came to check on their son, Mochi giving him some (dessert you like) "Kaito is trying to ask for my hand in marriage for business reasons" (name) said simply as he began eating his treats, enjoying the flavor before offering some to Papa mochi with a soft smile.

"Tryna get our son without asking huh?" Koko said coldly with empty eyes as the other dad's held similar expression's, kaku texting Mikey and the others this information because hello someone's out trying to use their darling son to get good with Bonten, not because he actually likes (name)!

"Fujioka right? Didn't you guys loose over 1 million in the stocks last month?" Ran said appearing out of thin air, the amount of bonten intimidating Kaito as he watched them all closely "why would you think we would allow our son to date a person who makes such piss trade deals marry our son?" Rindou said coldly, wrapping his arm around (name)s shoulder "a person may we remind you, tried proposing without going through the channels to do so, aka us"

"M-my apologies sir! I-I didn't mean to offend!"

"Well you did now get out of our faces" Mikey said coldly while stealing some of his son's drink, (name) in return stealing a creme puff from his dad's plate.

Kaito ran off with his tail between his legs and the Bonten dad's checked on their son worriedly.

Despite attending these things with his dad's, (name) was not in Bonten so to speak, his father's wanting him to presue his own goals and such.

"Don't worry , i wasn't going to agree anyways" (name) said bluntly and gave a sweet smile and the men relaxed at that, happy their son wasn't wooed by that dumbasses sugared words.

"I already have a boyfriend!"

"Pardon?!"

First of all... Blue Exorcist is a bit different for me. When I started reading the manga and watching the anime I only cared for one certain character...

^ me.

I can say that changed a lot after entering the fandom. I see so many good art of all of the characters that I started to pay attention on everyone.

But I will always be an Arthur fan idk what could happen that would change my mind. So his plot and his panels always get the most attention from me. And the demon kings of course.

Things I would change... SEASON ONE OF THE ANIME.

Jesus Christ what a bullshit. (＃｀д´)ﾉ

People started hating Arthur because of that trash and they also represented him as a fucking joke on that fire engine. He is a Paladin! How ridiculous.

I also really don't like the art style. A lot of people hating season 3 style but in my opinion it's so much better. I want to forget season one tbh.

If I go deeper into the whole story and look at the plot I am always impressed how Kato managed all that. I have a huge respect for her creations. Everything happens out of a reason and I really like how the story and the characters evolve. It's well written and when I am sure what will happens next everything went completely different.

BUT THERE IS ONE THING THAT I WOULD ERASE FROM ALL THE MANGA AND THE PLOT AND FROM THE WHOLE WORLD. NO I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS-

Kato I hate you for this (no I love you but this was NOT necessary!) The chapter was uploaded on his birthday how could you?!

Also- Lund and Strom are some stupid NPCs... Not fair!

I will never understand it. I will also not try to understand it. I was so shocked when I red it I want to pretend this never happened. Kato... please take more care of the Paladins they are not a disposable item.

Chapter 144 Notes; Love, longing and Lightning...near the end of days.

In this chapter, we get some more personal content and we get some great character development.

Kato also drives it home that the BIG END is coming. The kids are all reminiscing about the last time they had a meal together. In the woods camping. Remembering the good times helps bring them a strong sense of togetherness.

The adults meanwhile eat at a separate table. Shura equates the meal to the last supper, meaning they are preparing to sacrifice themselves to save humanity.

And of course, she has regrets. Shura just got a new lease on life, only to have that life stolen from her. She won't get a chance to be married, nor will she have children. It's bothering her.

One thing I gleaned from this discussion, is how little Shura knows about Neuhaus even though they were both True Cross Academy teachers. She didn't know that his wife was killed during the Blue Knight. Neuhaus is willing to die. He wants to be reunited with his wife.

Lucy meanwhile, has been married and had a bunch of kids, grandchildren and grandkids. And the woman is tired. She's worn out from all of that family and all of those kids. When she dies, Lucy wants a new life and to move on.

However according to her relative from the Taiwan Branch. Liu. She would have a hard time dying because her familiar keeps her alive. This is why she survived that mortal wound during the previous battle. For some reason, this tidbit will become an important narrative element.

After all, the Illuminati is always on the lookout for a resilient body to house a demon king. I wonder if an exorcist can willingly give up a body and still have their spirit move on?

The next exorcist is Liu. He has no wishes for children or family. This is a plot point that may prove significant. This is a manga based on family and its strengths. So...what does this mean? Or is it nothing?

Osceola is just a sweet, gentle giant of a man. His marriage didn't work out when he was young, but he has no regrets. He had a chance to raise/mentor Lightning. And that weirdo is like a son to him.

Lightning is very much like Shiro in some ways. He has difficulty showing emotions and possibly has a demon-like heart. He's also incredibly smart and most likely had issues communicating with normal humans. But like Mephisto said...nurturing, love and empathy can stop a demon heart from becoming monstrous.

Osceola taught Lightning how to love Assiah and all of the things in it. Just like Shiro learned to love Rin and Yukio, Osceola found meaning in his life. Lightning like Rin finds a balance within his demon heart.

Shura then takes a moment to consider Osceola's words. She's spent her short life as a mentor to Rin and Yukio. She loves the boys. Maybe that's enough for her too. Maybe.

But she still has work to do...because Yukio....

Getting back to the kids, they aren't focusing on death but life. Instead of the end, they all focus on normal things they will do once the battle is over. Shima, meanwhile, announces that he will be a pop idol.

What makes this so worrying? In the future, we see, Shima as a pop idol and all the other exorcists are nowhere to be found. Is Shima the only survivor? Does he live because he's the double agent and saves himself? Is he like the Judas character in this Last Supper analogy?

Speaking of regrets. We have Shiemi an entire year older. She's finally caught up to everyone and still refuses to tell Rin how she feels. Shiemi for shit's sake....use your words..!!!!

On to the bad guys

They're setting up camp in Mordor...I mean...Satan's heart. The bad demon kings have all survived, and Homaire has also survived. Astatroth was late to the party, he's got a human body but no class and no idea what's going on. (I swear this guy smells like Cheetos and farts.)

Lucifer is like...father's ego is dead. So sad, anyway...his heart is still intact. Satan's power is taking over Assiah, and I guess a slimey mudhole, combined with fire and brimstone is paradise to demons or something?

They proceed to give a detailed description of the different sections of the lair. Luckily, Lightning is there, spying like a pro. He distracts them with sylphs and then uses a ghost to possess an Illuminati guard. Very slick.

Lightning had a great one-liner too. ( I was having a shitty day at work...and yes. That's a mood.) The guy loves a challenge and is a bit of a masochist. Well, okay...

Oh and one more thing.

Little boy Egyn...cute like a baby Amaimon....

It’s WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.

"Be extra-good this week, okay?" Panthera whispers to Kato as she sets down his bowl in front of him. He watches her intently for a moment, then digs into his supper with clumsy human hands. She pats his head and he pauses to nuzzle into her hand with a purr. "Good boy."

Kato purrs.

Panthera knows humans don't really understand anything past the simplest commands, but Kato really likes getting pats and getting called "good", so she thinks he'll get the point. And she'll keep a special eye on him this week, even more than usual, just to make sure everything goes okay.

Mother had told Panthera that before she was born, Kato was much wilder and more aggressive, even after Father'd tamed him. But when they'd let him meet her for the first time as a fuzzy little newborn, he'd purred for the first time. They hadn't even known humans could purr before that, Father had said with a laugh.

Kato purrs all the time now, though. He growls sometimes too, or snarls or hisses, but around her and the twins mostly he just purrs. Sometimes he even croons, almost like he's trying to sing or something. He mostly does it when Mother and Father aren't there to sing the twins to sleep, and he even does it for Panthera even though she's a big cub now.

Kato is much more special than other humans, Panthera thinks. She's seen some of Sacker's slaves in Roam before, and none of them have ever looked anything like Kato. Sacker doesn't comb and groom his slaves nicely or give them pretty golden collars or pretty silken tunics, no, but it's more than that–Kato is just different. His eyes are brighter, and his attention is sharper, and he doesn't listen to commands because he's too stupid to know what to do himself, but because he's good.

So he'll be fine without his medicine for just a week, Panthera knows, and then Sacker will send more and no one will know Tigris and Leo spilled this week's doses at all.

After all, what could go wrong?
