On this episode of things that keep me up at night:

I wonder if we'll get a mirror of how Aziraphale was manipulated by the Metatron, but with Crowley, in s3.

Picture it:

Crowley's only friend for the last 6000 years has just rejected him and left him behind.

Lucifer shows up with a bottle of gin, which, okay it's not his favorite, but the thought is nice, right? And whatever he has to say must be super important for the Devil himself to show up just to speak with a demon with no affiliation to Hell.

And he starts praising Crowley. How right Crowley was to stop the first Armageddon, even if Lucifer hadn't seen it at the time. Hell was understaffed after all, they would have been decimated. How strategic Crowley's mind is. How brilliant he'd been at his temptations.

The Second Coming will wipe out Earth and demons alike. And wouldn't Crowley consider coming back to Hell to work with him to stop it again? They need someone with experience stopping these things, someone who knows how the Earth works better than anyone.

And then he starts talking about how toxic Heaven is. How he heard that Crowley's angel compatriot returned to the fold. How worried Crowley must be about his friend.

If Crowley will just come back, Lucifer will make sure that nothing happens to the angel. Hell will guarantee that if Aziraphale falls (through no fault of his own, of course, it's just that Heaven is so fickle like that, just look at Crowley's own fall), or even if he doesn't fall, but just needs a safe harbour from Heaven, he will have a safe place waiting for him in Hell. Protected.

Maybe it feels just like hanging out with Luci and the guys all those ages ago before the Fall, before the War. Maybe someone actually wants him around.

How is he supposed to turn down help saving the world when his usual partner is gone? How is he supposed to turn down an offer of safety for Aziraphale if it all goes sideways, like he knows Heaven will.

And maybe later he understands how Aziraphale could have gone back to Heaven, because he just did the same thing with Hell.

Anyone stop to think how much both Aziraphale and Crowley (a.k.a Bildad the Shuite) are risking to save Job's three children in the "A Companion to Owls" minisode? It's not just Aziraphale lying to the other angels; Crowley stops Sitis from cursing God, which means he ruins Satan's chance to win the bet. Of course, if Satan did win, then Crowley wouldn't be able to give Job and Sitis their children back. (Maybe Crowley would have kept the oldest two as lizards and adopted Jemimah.) Maybe there's a reason Aziraphale and Crowley didn't see each other again until the Flood (ETA: this should be the Crucifixion) (i.e., maybe Edinburgh isn't the first time Crowley gets punished by Hell for doing something good.)

Can we talk about the scene where Satan comes to tell off Adam? something I noticed is that he never actually responded properly to what Adam was saying. "Where is my son? You? Your my rebellious son? COME HERE." then Adam has his little speech about him not being his dad and showing up late. "What?" Adam continues talking.. "What did you say? Come here!" then bro starts disintegrating cause he said he wasn't his real dad or smth.

My thought is: could Satan even hear what he was saying? They were a good distance away from him and his only responses were basically "what are u saying come here" and i think it would be so funny if Satan himself comes outta the ground to scold his son, who just starts babbling things he cannot hear 'cause he's like 50 feet tall (idk how height works sorry) and then poor dude just turns into dust?? How confusing is that for him omfg. Like imagine he just shows back up to hell and everyone's like "so what happened??" and he has no fucking clue LMAO

Anyway, this is just a stupid idea that's prolly been mentioned b4 but feel free to add ideas or argue. This was just something that popped in my mind during my trillionth rewatch lol

I dropping here the Royal au, I already posted much Crowley from this au (modern or not) here so this time is fully old paintings of. --- Aziraphale is no longer an angel here, himself left and became part of demons. Crowley proclaimed him a Duke and he acts too like an angel royal hunter. Older Princess Hope and Mary are acclaimed to greedy eyes. The girls remain hard catch the heart, however. Liam is the middle prince and the sweetest, he is curious and loves spending time with Aziraphale. The royal "couple" act like married in public but is just a title despite old good feelings for each other, they in fact are "divorced" but somethings are left aside for good of an kingdom. The youngest prince is Ben, a spoiled boy calmed to be successor to the crown due to his father's favoritism.

When Satan realizes Crowley is no longer bound to Hell, He challenges Aziraphale and Crowley to a double-or-nothing wager. If they lose, they'll be damned forever.
