Oh gods, this girl was so messy about LGBT stuff and POCs. It's one thing to still ship E/riel, that is completely someones right. But it is ridiculous when someone truly acts confused as to how anyone sees the possibility of Gwynriel ESPECIALLY when those same people ship Vassa / Lucien. Lucien has never felt something spark in his chest when it comes to Vassa. He did not take Elain's solstice gift and easily regift it to Vassa. Vassa has never once sassed Lucien the way that Gwyn sassed at Az. We've never even seen a conversation between Vassa and Lucien outside of the one that Jurian, Eris, and Cassian were all part of and which involved Koschei. And Azriel notes that his shadows are playful with Gwyn in a way they never have been with Elain. Does that mean Gwynriel is a certainty? Not necessarily but let's not pretend it couldn't be hinting at something. A while back I sent a few friends excerpts from the book. I didn't not tell them my own preference but sent them certain lines about Elain's character (i.e., cruelty troubles her, the "don't hurt" Graysen quote) and then sent lines regarding the characters of Az and Lucien, how they handled certain things ("if Lucien kills Graysen, good riddance", "I'll defeat him with little effort"). I asked who seemed to be a better match for Elain based on personality and Lucien took it in a clean sweep. So yeah, it's ok if someone still ships E/riel because they have been given reason to ship it. But it's frustrating when certain E/riels act like we don't have just as much hinting at the possibility of an Elucien or Gwynriel endgame.

7. How many ideas for fics do I have right now? So many, dude, literally so many. Thinking about my Elden Ring au again, the sci-fi au, my quasi-Good Omens au, and my Skyrim au, just to name a few. Then I have a few season 3 fic ideas about the Holy War where I make gratuitous Evangelion references.

14. If I could see one of my fics adapted? That's a toughie. My heart says HtSHtS because with the right talent and budget it could be the best Dragon Age show/film we're likely to get, and I don’t say that as a boast 😬. But! Lazarus would be also be pretty cool because it would give the SCP universe representation outside of the wiki and the fan games.

15. How do I come up with titles for fics/chapters? As far as titling fics goes, I'm a predictable slut for using song titles, with rare exception. I will also jump at any opportunity to name chapters after songs too (see: my two She-Ra fics). But if I'm not doing that, I just try to match the titles to the general theme of the work, so Chant verses for HtSHtS, data logs for Lazarus, etc etc.

17. What's something I learned while researching for a fic? That burns left by lightning strikes heal very quickly and almost never scar. I was going to have a character have lichtenberg scars from a lightning strike, only to find out that those marks tend to fade within a day. Both interesting and disappointing at the same time.

Within Haven's walls, the people aren't resting either.  Construction on the siege weapons continues from dawn until dusk, and an ever-growing number of soldiers train in shifts out in the cold.

Lilith doesn't try to ambush you with training again.  In fact, she seems to be avoiding you, leaving the position of instructor open to Beatrice once again.  She doesn't try to hit you with sticks, but she does gently reassert the Seeker’s point about your fitness level.

"We'll start simple," she says on the first morning she greets you in a set of warm fatigues rather than her usual robes.  Simple turns out to mean jogging laps around the frozen lake, which nearly does you in before you've even begun.

"Draste’s tits," you pant hoarsely, stopping in your tracks somewhere into the second lap and planting your hands on your knees.  "How does anyone just do this?"

She jogs back to you with limber strides, her natural grace unhindered by the snow and mud.  "They practice," she tells you plainly.  "They work at it until it's easy.  And then they keep going."  She isn't even out of breath, what the actual fuck?

"And there's no way we could just skip to the part where it's easy and go from there?"  Your lungs feel like they’re going to blow your ribs out.

25. Have I ever upset myself with my own writing? As in, have I ever made myself cry? Yes, on occasion. Or, has my writing upset me in other ways? Also yes. I've been writing since middle school; needless to say I've gone through some serious growing pains with my work. I smashed one of my own flash drives with a hammer once because I hated everything on it. Good riddance to it.

The Lucien vs Azriel debate has gone on so passionately that at this point, if the end game ships are Elucien and Gwyriel, SJM is going to have to work very hard to sell that to me. Cause that's almost so flavourless. When there's so many other combinations.

Vassa x Lucien for instance. 😌 Maybe Azriel x Elain. It has been proven that being mates doesn't mean being right for each other, and there's been instances where mates get abused by each other. I actually do not mind if Lucien and Elain reject the bond. Good riddance on Lucien's part, maybe he can find a girl that can treat him like the gem that he is. ❤️

Elain strikes me as the kind of girl into the Prince x Princess trope. She likes being saved by prince charming and Azriel loves to fit that quota (partly because of a lot of esteem issues that we'll have to unpack later where Azriel always feels the need to be useful).

Also, I need Lucien and Azriel to talk more. I want to see a proper interaction between the two (I want to check something 👀). Everyone seems to think they're fighting, Lucien isn't even aware he has competition. 💀 And I thought Azriel disliked Lucien but it doesn't seem to be so. Lucien is the only person Azriel doesn't track but he also doesn't hesitate bringing him up for political solutions. So there's usually no hesitation until the topic of Elain comes up.

So yeah, I think it'd be great if Lucien and Elain were the first mated couple to reject the bond. If just to show being Cauldron,-chosen isn't everything, cause that's majority of why Azriel is still freaking out. 500 years no mate, it bothers him. Like he has no mate, like he's not worthy of any of the people he loves. It sometimes feels like he falls in love with people likely not to return his feelings, like he's self sabotaging which hurts horrendously. Like he doesn't feel he deserves love. That if anyone loved Azriel back, he might not know what to do with it. 💀

However, there's also the issue where I don't think Elain dislikes Lucien (A very unfortunate development). I think she likes him very much and isn't ready to acknowledge that. He was the only other person she talked to at first, I still remember her words "I can hear your heart." It feels like she has a reason for avoiding him, either to protect him, protect herself, fight fate. Yada yada yada.

The hints about Elain not being fit for the night court are also rather depressing cause either she takes Azriel with her (and he's not a fan of light), or she has to choose.

Another fear, I'm not even sure she likes Azriel. He's just 'easy to love'. Which pisses me off. 😭 Omg, both Lucien and Azriel deserve better tbh.

If Elain ends up with no one I will have no complaints. Just let Azriel be happy, let Lucien be happy. My only request.
