hi guys! i’m adding to the total drama community by sharing a list of Alenoah fanfics i’ve found that are top tier, both completed and ongoing. enjoy!!!!
1: “Slippery Slopes” by @courtney-deserved-better on Ao3
(Completed)
OKAY this is quite literally the best fanfiction i’ve ever read. Not only is it incredibly well written and very in character, but there’s a whole second book with different perspective for some of the story called “Hawaiian Style.” It’s a World Tour rewrite where team chris is really really really really hot doesn’t lose the London challenge, so Noah and Heather more or less switch roles. Highly HIGHLY recommended. (The slow burn will drive you to insanity.)
2: “A Bit More Time” by @/seas1de on Ao3
(Ongoing)
THIS ONE!!!!!!! Alejandro gets caught in a time loop right before the beginning of the London challenge. This one is SO CRAZY CREATIVE and takes so many twists and turns. Incredibly enjoyable, and still on going. I love how well the writer uses time loop tropes, as that’s one of my favorites ever. Goes a little into some darker themes as well, so please be aware of that! Overall a very good read with a lot of fun time loopy stuff going on with everyone.
3: “Amicus Curiae” by @courtney-deserved-better on Ao3
(Ongoing)
Written by the same author as my first recommendation, I only have high remarks for this fanfic so far!!! In this one, Alejandro and Courtney join the Ridonculous Race as the “Best Friends.” As well as it being alenoah, Courtney and Emma are also shipped together in this story! It’s written so well, and each chapter is a different characters perspective! If you enjoyed season seven of total drama, definitely read this one.
4: “Stakes” by @/deadmxnsparty on Ao3
(Ongoing)
Vampire Alejandro, vampire hunter Noah. How can it go wrong? It can’t, it’s amazing. This one definitely takes a darker turn than rest, and is one of the two recommendations where “total drama island” never happened in their world. I always enjoy a good vampire au, and getting the different perspectives from characters is written well. Definitely read this if you’re a fan of paranormal creatures and dark romance!
5: “Dig a Mace into His Chest and a Shotgun into Mine” by @writerquil
(Ongoing)
Hunger games au! Noah and Gwen are the two tributes from District 12, and Noah plans to get Gwen to the very end as the victor. Alejandro is obviously from District 1, and so far the whole story has me hooked. All this, PLUS it’s interactive! At the end of each chapter, readers get to vote on what choices Noah should make! It’s incredibly fun to be apart of the story, and is also written well! Highly recommended if you enjoy THG and interactive stories!
That’s all I have for full length fanfics right now!! I genuinely enjoyed/am enjoying all of these immensely! Go show love to the writers and enjoy reading some great alenoah content! <3

I’m now halfway through The Magnus Archives’ 1st season, so I thought it would be cool to just post my thoughts on each episode so far :). (Spoilers, I like all of them, and this podcast is going to be all I care about for a while.) Also NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!!
Link to Masterpost (contains all of these thought posts)
- Episode 1, Anglerfish 🚬
Really strong start, not the scariest episode so far but definitely unnerving, and it gives a good first impression and layer of intrigue. While the story is simple in comparison to the later ones, it was still enjoyable, and I was just appreciating the atmosphere and framing device of the episode as well.
- Episode 2, Do Not Open ⚰️
This is still one of my favorites. The whole time I was on edge, and this was the first episode that really kept me up at night. I went from wanting to know what was inside the coffin desperately, to wanting to stay away from it as much as possible. Joshua’s insuring dread and creative solution to his problems was fantastic, and it ends with some intriguing plot threads being set up.
- Episode 3, Across The Street 📓
I think I share a common sentiment when I say that Amy stalking Graham was almost as creepy as the actual horror lmao. Overall I don’t have that much to say about this one, but it was very enjoyable, and I feel really bad for Graham in retrospect :(.
- Episode 4, Pageturner 📕
I…feel like I should hold off on talking about this one for now. While it was definitely well written and creepy, it just seems to be so full of setup for future plot lines that I almost don’t feel like I can form a concise opinion on it until I really get what’s going on. Honestly, my only complaint with this episode is that maybe it’s setting up TOO much in one go, but I still had a good time with it overall.
- Episode 5, Thrown Away 🗑️
This one actually did a pretty good job at getting me to think about waste disposal workers lmao, I never really thought about them like that before. This one was just really creepy, but also kind of fun in a weird twisted way. It did a great job keeping me on edge as well.
- Episode 6, Squirm 🪱
I am simultaneously horrified, and unfortunately aroused by what happened here.
- Episode 7, The Piper 🔫
Having an episode set nearly 100 years ago is a really fun idea, and it’s executed perfectly here. It was interesting how it also featured a real person, and I liked how the paranormal activity felt more metaphorical here, it really did feel like it was showcasing the horror of war.
- Episode 8, Burned Out 🌳
I found this one to be very nerve-wracking, since not only was the whole scenario with the tree just, like…three creepy things happening at once, but the fact that the statement was given by someone with schizophrenia did a good job making me question it’s validity, even though I’m certain it’s true after listening to a later statement. I also hope that I get to see how the history of the house is unveiled in the future.
- Episode 9, A Father’s Love 💡
This one made me feel really sad :(. I really felt Julia’s despair in this one (Jonathan Sims does such great voice acting for every statement btw, both the character and the actual person), and I was even more saddened by the implications of why Robert did what he did. If my assumptions are correct, then…SCREW THE MOTHER! It was also the first one that got me thinking about where exactly all of the paranormal stuff comes from, and later episodes only add to my theory that it’s all due to demons/cults/higher powers.
- Episode 10, Vampire Killer 🧛‍♂️
Much like Episode 8, this one did a really good job at making me question the validity of the statement, although I became more sure of its truth a bit earlier. I also just love how nonchalant Trevor comes off as, compared to all of the other traumatized horror victims. (Also, I’m guessing that the name Trevor and the episode title are meant to be a Castlevania reference?) While vampires aren’t the most creative thing for an episode, at least in comparison to everything else, the beast-like execution here more than made up for it in my opinion.
- Episode 11, Dreamer 💭
Yeah…Gertrude Robinson did not die a normal death. My guess is that she was caught by ✨the horrors✨, but I’ll wait and see. This was another very tense episode, with the prophetic dream world being really, REALLY creepy. I do hope we get to see more of “Antonio” in the future, as I think he could be quite important. (I also hope he gets punched for DUMPING GRAHAM IN HIS TIME OF NEED-)
- Episode 12, First Aid 🏥
OMG GERARD KEAY HI HI HI HI HOW ARE YOU!!! Yeah I audibly gasped when he showed up again, it was such a cool moment. Anyways, hospitals already creep me the fuck out so this was pretty effective. Definitely some great setup here, and it helped to make a bit more sense of Pageturner, now that I have a better idea of what Gerard’s whole deal is. It also added some good fuel to the whole cult idea, and my god this poor nurse. Having to deal with all of this in a single night sounds like hell.
- Episode 13, Alone 🌫️
Having a new voice in this episode was really cool, and Katie Davison did an excellent job as Naomi! It was also cool to see how Jon interacts with other people, he was…nicer than expected. This episode honestly felt like it was calling me out, as I am also someone who’s confident in my independence, but if I was in Naomi’s place I would also probably be scared shitless. I really hope she’ll get a happy ending :(. Also, The Lukas family is quite intriguing, especially since we now know they have a connection to The Institute…
- Episode 14, Piecemeal 👆
Firstly, this is probably my favorite of Jon’s vocal deliveries. His performance of Lee Rentoul just feels perfect. (Once again, this applies to both the writer and the character, I’m genuinely convinced the latter is an ex-theatre kid.) Outside of that, THIS ONE CREEPED ME OUT. The body horror was very effective, with the only thing holding it back being the fact that Lee isn’t the most likable protagonist in the podcast, but if this happened to someone else I’d be even more upset. Still though, it was a very creative concept, and the whole vibe and execution of the episode made it great.
- Episode 15, Lost Johns’ Cave 🕯️
What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fu-
- Episode 16, Arachnophobia 🕷️
The way they tackled the concept in the title was really well done. Arachnophobia is seen as an irrational fear by a lot of people, so having it portrayed as an effect of childhood trauma was a good call. And as someone who is not arachnophobic, this episode got me close to feeling that way. What ever force was making Carlos relive his trauma is a sick fuck. Also the cat was a real one, glad he survived the whole situation. (Also THE WORMS, HOLY SHIT IT’S THE SEX WORMS!!!)
- Episode 17, The Boneturner’s Tale 🦴
This episode really compelled me to get out the rubber bands connecting images lmao. I really liked all of the connections to past statements here, like the presence of another book from the library of Jurgen Leitner, to the mention of Micheal Crew. The body horror here was once again very creepy, (outside of the flat rat, that was morbidly funny), but my favorite part of the episode was the introduction of Elias, which was a humorous, but also very intriguing scene. Also, the themes of books containing power was great as well. Great stuff all around.
- Episode 18, The Man Upstairs 🥩
…ew. Ok in all seriousness, this is probably my least favorite episode so far. Still very far from bad, but after all of the extremely interesting themes and plot threads, having an episode where the idea was just “What if a guy had a house covered in meat? Wouldn’t that be fucked up?”, felt just a little bit underwhelming. Which like, the fact that my least favorite episode’s biggest problem is that I find it slightly pales in comparison to previous ones is just a testament to how much I’ve been enjoying the podcast. Still though, there were definitely a few things I really liked. The reveal of the room was creepy (especially considering the meat that seemed…alive…), and as someone who has had to deal with upstairs neighbors making noise for hours during construction, this episode definitely scared me.
- Episode 19, Confession, and Episode 20, Desecrated Host ✝️
This, alongside Lost Johns’ Cave, was one (or I guess, two…) of those episodes that seriously fucked me up. While I am not religious, I have always had fears of how religion can negatively affect me and the people around me, despite the good that it seems to do for so many people. So seeing Edwin be charged for every “sin” he committed by a higher power that wishes to steal its faith, and then not get judged by it, but by the people around him for his one true sin, was absolutely haunting, and I hope he turns out ok in the end. Outside of the horror, the episodes were fantastic. Listening to the events of Episode 8 from Edwin’s perspective, and seeing how Ivo’s actions saved him, was really cool, and solidifies in my mind that Ivo’s experience was real. The connections to demonic magic and Latin script thickened, and it was overall just a great mid-season finale. In conclusion, I hope that Martin feels better soon, and if he isn’t actually sick and is being plagued by ✨the horrors✨, well then I hope he survives :).
Thank you for reading my silly little thoughts if you’ve made it this far, it really means a lot to me :). I’ll probably update this every time I finish half of a season, so hopefully my thoughts on episodes 21-40 will be here in the Reblogs soon. :)

YOU'RE SO GOOD AT LORE AND WORLDBUILDING AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH
every time you add new lore to any of your aus i go even more insane. like i start trying to formulate in my head every different way this could possibly go! i want to hear alllll the little details and the process of coming up with everything! I love your creativity and how you write the characters and put together plots
sending all the kudos for every single thing you've written <333 :D
uwahhh thank you !! >~<
it's both a really fun and very annoying process. sometimes the thoughts are REALLY easy to come up with, while others are more of a challenge. like, I had an easy time creating the lore of glyph magic in songbird. but??? the watcher and listener stuff?? took me a Hot minute
actually, scratch that, the watchers in general gave me a struggle
a lot of the time !!! I turn to anime for inspiration or other fics to get an idea of how other people have approached stuff. it's def no secret that the owl house influenced songbird glyphs lol
most of the time I do a lot of planning of world building/lore bits and how I want to introduce them into the story. I had the songbird magic system and vampire council worked out before the story really started. and then... sometimes I'm coming up with stuff by the seat of my pants
if you remember the conversation grian and scar had about possession magic and the three different types?? yeah I threw that all together as I was writing the scene WHEEZE. sometimes I'm really good about planning and other times I... am not. but songbird is SO one of my favorite aus to world build for, it's so fun and Most of the time it doesn't want to make me rip my hair out :D
building in a fantasy setting also feels soooo much more natural to me too, which definitely makes the process a lot more enjoyable :3

Dang I miss Immortal/Undead Male Whump with possible wholesome romance as tv shows...
I just got done rewatching FOREVER (2014) and Moonlight (2008) and want to watch more shows and even movies of the similar tastes and it’s hard to find.
Tumblr media
(Forever 2014)
Tumblr media
(Moonlight 2008) (Fun facts, the character Joseph from the show voices Terra in the Kingdom Hearts games. A book was published years after the show that inspired the series called “Angel of Vengeance” by  Trevor O’ Munson. The show went on hiatus due to the writers strikes and received 4 new episodes before ending, being cancelled, and not being picked up again.)
I miss seeing shows where the male lead has to keep the secret or deal with someone knowing their secret and trying to live with it. All of it based more in a realistic reality of the actual world, while still be fictitious enough to have things that could never happen in reality as well.
I know there are some show or movies out there similar, but they don’t fit my tastes or I did watch them for a time and then stopped cause they started getting crazy or boring for me.
I’m not one for watching something with sex in it, nor a lot of demonic things in it either. Some exceptions have been Angel and Buffy, but those are more supernatural fiction. I tried watch Vampire Diaries and did enjoy it for a time, same with the Teen Wolf series, but they both got to a point I couldn’t stand them and just stopped watching and couldn’t get myself to watch them again. I’ve tried with Teen Wolf, but just got bored.
I did try watching some of True Blood to see what it was like and only came out enjoying the theme song and left that quick. I don’t think I made it past the first episode.
Tried watching Penny Dreadful and same thing happened. The Sabrina remake as well. One ep and then I ditched it. I hated the the demonic stuff and just dipped. Made me miss the 90s show I grew up all the more.
I used to watch Forever Knight as a kid, She Wolf, and Beauty and the Beast as well, but not really into watching the super older shows of late 80s early 90s right now.
Also sucks how I can’t get season 2 of Invisible Man (2000) in the US. UK is lucky and got the second season of Invisible Man, we only got Season 1, which I bought up so fast. Though based more in science, Invisible Man was another good one. Poor guy couldn’t catch a break. Miss it so much.
Tumblr media
(The Invisible Man (2000) (Thankfully, though only 2 seasons, the series got to end with an actually ending.)
Thankful we keep getting Psych movies every few years or so, though movie 2 and 3 haven’t been available to buy yet, which is frustrating since they only show it on peacock, though 2 was on USA recently and 4 is in the works.
Tumblr media
(Psych (2006-2014, Movies ongoing)
Enjoyed watching Dracula, the NBC, not the BBC one. That one I hated. I enjoyed Jekyll and Sherlock, but Dracula was horrible.
Dracula NBC ended too soon.
Tumblr media
(Dracula (2013))
One I didn’t see until after it aired, that for a time was free to watch on old Hulu, was The Crow: Stairway to Heaven. Very 90′s, but enjoyable all the same.
Tumblr media
(The Crow: Stairway to Heaven (1998) and yes that is Mark Dacascos probably known by many as The Chairman of Iron Cheif.)
Which I recently found out they finally have made a remake of the 90′s movie with Bill Skarsgard that I hope will be good. Just leaves adding any vfx and so on they need to before release.
Many will know him more as Pennywise the Clown and leads into why I sat through watching all of Hemlock Grove.
Tumblr media
Only good reason to watch that show on Netflix.
It has Vampires and Werewolves and more, but man, it isn’t worth it in the end with the plot they give.
So, yeah, really wish we got more immortal / undead whump with possible wholesome romances.

Hi Kai, it's me again!
While I agree that Donna is No1 forever and always I'm also excited to see the others in the AU! Are they all professors or do they habe different roles?
- Valentines anon
Hello again Valentine! It's good to see you :D
Ah yes, our beloved Donnie <3 Always and forever our Queen
I'm honestly extremely excited to further develop this AU! Progress is slow-especially cause i'm mostly focusing on Donna rn and i've just started college-but I really wanna turn this into smth cool and make as much content as I can for it! I'd hope to some day make lil comics for it and at least have some sort of fic written for the AU. Though i'd be just as happy if I only ever get asks XD Anything that gets me to at least talk about it, doodle, and further develop ideas XDD The motivation and joy that come from knowing other people like the idea is great fuel (aside from my own enjoyment and obsession with it PFFT)
As for the others!!!- More info on them under the cut!!!(I wrote way more than intended LOL i'm figuring things out as i'm writing pfft-)
I see all of them as like board members for the school. Leading and managing it at the highest level right under Miranda who ofc is the headmistress(might come up with a different title, still in development). Let's get into a few quick details about the other Lords though! Do note that not much worldbuilding has gone on so types of magic and what is taught at the school is still in the works. Quite literally everything is still in VERY early development so expect changes
Alcina Dimitrescu
Definitely a professor! Of what..? Well uh....i'm still working on it! XD Perhaps of a music related magic? (Resident Lover shows Alcina as the art professor and while I think it's a great choice for her, I don't want to just hop onto the same idea.) I don't really see much about Alcina's relationship with music so perhaps I can do something for it through this AU :) Either that or a "dark arts" type thing? Necromancy and shadow related things? I'll be honest i'm slightly leaning towards darker arts...especially for plot reasons...
A vampire- ofc she is PFFT, the Dimi Daughters are also vampires(whether they're her biological children or were willingly converted is still in development)
She's every teacher that complains about other teacher's methods and classrooms
Karl Heisenberg
In charge of school security! He's technically supposed to be teaching students about combat and taking in certain students for a guard internships but he has an assistant who does the actual teaching for him LOL He's just there to occasionally be the face and the muscle of the program XD Though he does do some actual teaching for that program, he's more about demonstrating and correcting students he observes(he also just mostly is interested in the security interns)
Now because his assistant handles most things related to the combat courses/guard internships he actually teaches a second class with a different assistant. It's metal/machine based and as it's more a deep passion of his he actually takes it more seriously and prefers to do more of the teaching himself. All his assistants and deputies just make it more manageable for him to be taking care of multiple things like this. He actually spends the most time and effort on this class.
Is a Lycan! They can't turn into wolves or convert others though (a good portion of the school's security is actually lycans)
His magic is also a work in progress, though in this AU in general I want to have some who mostly just focus on mastering one form of magic and those who are experienced in multiple. Obviously the more types you focus on (that aren't considered more basic/general stuff ex. lighting a candle with a snap, animating an object to do a simple task, ect.) the less you master each. I would like him to possible specialize in more than one but we'll see how things go!
Salvatore Moreau
I actually imagine he'd be a professor of healing related magic or a beastmaster, and also supervising a program about experimental magic
Handsome fish man. You know classyfruit's gorgeous genderbent Moreau? Yeah, but handsome fish man. A triton but more fish-like
Wow this was short and he needs more love
Extra love for handsome fish boi Moreau

Thanks for tagging me @eulaliasims
1. What’s your favourite sims death? Never thought about having a favourite, maybe the cowplant? Or maybe when death results from something usually mundane like hail or lightning (I’ve had that one).
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Mainly Maxis match, but I think of my style as like 90% MM and 10% semi-realistic (more on the BB side) because I do find the occasional thing that fits in with my style from that aesthetic. And I feel like my style is somewhere between the true Maxis match and the cartoony style.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No? Seems odd!
4. Do you use move objects? Constantly, it’s on more than it’s off. I have an alias set up in my cheat file.
5. Favorite mod? Wow that’s a hard one to narrow down, so I’m gonna choose a few. Based on what has the biggest and most widespread effects, I’d say ACR, Community Lot time, and the whole Traits system (that’s cheating since it’s a million mods but I don’t care lol)
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? Would have been the very first pack, so University I guess! When the games came out I was living at home still and my mom played too, so we always got them relatively soon. Uni came out a month or so before my birthday so I suspect I probably got it as a gift that year.
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? LIVE as in LIVING, @eulaliasims is 1000% correct.
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? So not counting born in game? Sort of a tie but I’ve always been very fond of Joshua and Roxanne Lewis, they were two of Brightmaple’s founders - the first ones I thought up, and first ones I created.
9. Have you made a simself? Yes, in my old neighbourhood, I was a vampire along with the Sim version of my cousin. We lived in a huge Victorian mansion I built where I sent all the vampires in the hood to live.
10. What sim traits do you give yourself? Brooding, couch potato, good, loves the heat, hopeless romantic
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? Don’t really have one I guess.
12. Favorite EA hair? Also don’t really have one lol.
13. Favorite life stage? Probably adult because the most happens, but I also really enjoy toddler which is a hot take in most circles.
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Both! The building is fun and a creative outlet for me, but I do it so I can create more immersive and enjoyable worlds to play in too.
15. Are you a CC creator? Yes but on and off, I do it purely for fun and primarily for things I want in my game. So I take long breaks of making nothing at all, when I’m not in the mood.
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? I wouldn’t really say so? I do chat with people from time to time and have lots of great acquaintances on here! I find it to be a generally very nice community. But I usually find online friendship difficult since I find it harder to read people purely through text with no baseline for knowing them irl, for things like tone of voice/mannerisms/body language and just general vibe.
17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4) Well I think it’s pretty obvious TS2 has ruined all other games for me (not just other Sims games either).
18. Do you have any sims merch? nope
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? Actually yes! For speed builds.
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Gotten more Maxis match in terms of aesthetic, if you scroll back to like, pre-2017 on my blog you can see that for sure. For play style it’s a lot more structured - pure rotational so ages sync, more wants based, paying a lot more attention to their personalities etc.
21. What’s your Origin ID? I’ve been playing with either the RPC Launcher or a no-CD crack since the day I switched to the UC, so although I do have an Origin ID I’ve literally used it probably twice ever. So no idea!
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? There’s too many to pick!
23. How long have you had a simblr? My very first Simblr post was July 31, 2016. Before that I had a bit of a hiatus from playing for a few years, and before that I was on Livejournal/Dreamwidth.
24. How do you edit your pictures? My photo editing program (PSP8) is literally from the era of TS2 itself, which seems appropriate. It’s always worked perfectly well for me - I downloaded Photoshop a couple times but always found doing the same actions clunky and unfamiliar, so I stick with what I know. I adjust curves, saturation, and add a very slight (probably imperceptible) bloom effect. Then I crop in, and I resize by width - meaning my pics are always the same width, but the height varies slightly. I prioritize getting everything into the frame that I want, and don’t really care if the heights are different.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? If I were making up hypothetical TS2 EP’s? I wouldn’t have minded something like Superstar from the Sims 1, having my Sims become famous (if it was done more like OFB/hands on style rather than “off to work in a carpool for the day” style) would have been pretty fun.
26. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? That’s really tough to pick. Probably Seasons (such world building!), Freetime (the hobbies system adds so much depth for me!) or Open For Business (my whole hood has no EA careers and only businesses sooo...) or Pets?? I love my Sims having pets. They’re all so good!
I’m seeing this going around, so please allow me to tag @you if you haven’t been yet and wanna do this!

do you have any good places to start reading the mk comics?
yes!
MOON KNIGHT (2016) #1-14
what people are talking about when they mention the "lemire run". first issue looks like this:
Tumblr media
features:
amazing art
inventive storytelling and story concept
analysis of marc spector as a character
exploration of his jewish upbringing, mental health, and origin as moon knight
the inspiration for many of the show's aesthetics and set pieces
not gonna say much more, just go read it
it’s very much a coming together of a lot of moon knight characters from across the comics, but it’s still very enjoyable without prior knowledge. you can quickly pick up on the characters and their dynamics, but if you’re at all confused just look them up :) the main ones are gena, crowley, marlene, and frenchie.
that’d be my main starter recommendation, but here are some other great ones! (under the cut because this got very long):
MOON KNIGHT (2014)
it’s like a series of shorter, contained stories. they’re really fun and have some great art!
this run is often referred to by the first author's surname (ie. ellis), but be aware that this writer is a real POS so it would be best to avoid calling it that. upon recommendation ive starting to refer to it as the "shalvey run" or just "2014", cause it actually involves a lot more than just 1 artist.
they’re collected into 3 volumes that look like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
features:
accessible, largely self contained stories!
fast paced - sometimes brutal - action
the origin of mr knight!
marc khonshu divorce arc
marc living in an abandoned hotel with a bunch of ghosts cause he’s a loser he pushed all his friends away
this one story that’s told almost entirely through camera/phone footage. it’s really cool when you see it
MOON COPTER
MOON KNIGHT (2021)
the mackay run. it does reference some things that happened in previous comics, but honestly all you need to know is that khonshu tried to take over the world and got put in jail for it. also marc technically has a kid. but it barely comes up. the first issue looks like this:
Tumblr media
features:
the midnight mission, moon knight’s open door hero service/church of khonshu
more analysis of marc spector et al.
WHAT’S THAT, 8-BALL? I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF THE INDUSTRIAL CAR SHREDDER!
the origin of hunter’s moon, another servant of khonshu!
mr knight sleeping in a sarcophagus like a vampire
MOON KNIGHT (2016) #188-200
the bemis run. it's numbered strangely because marvel changed the way they number their issues, but this follows directly after lemire. the first issue looks like this:
Tumblr media
i…. hmm.. i have mixed feelings about this run. it has some really really fun stuff involving the other alters, but i kind of despise bemis’s writing. he loves to constantly refer to marc as “crazy” and in general seems to write with less love than the previous lemire stuff, if that makes sense? so i recommend it with the caveat that it has some uhhh cringe moments
features:
fun (and not so fun) system shenanigans
they have a kid??? more news at 8
origin of another avatar, this time of ra!
jake being fucking unhinged (sometimes derogatory)
the origin of the system's DID (specifically #194 if you just wanna read that, it’s pretty stand-alone tbh. content warning for discussions of the holocaust and nazism)
i honestly might just make a master post of fun system moments so people don’t have to read bemis LMAO
FINAL NOTES
there are a lot of things that are different from the show to comics but the main ones are:
steven grant is a playboy billionaire film producer, not a soft spoken gift shop-ist
marc is as aware of jake as he is of steven and vice versa. jake is also general not more violent than marc is, but is a bit rougher around the edges.
mr. knight =/= steven grant and moon knight =/= marc spector. it depends on the writer, but generally they are separate personas/alters and are almost always not tied to a single alter
while the DID rep in the show has its flaws, it is far more considerate than the majority of comic runs. outside of lemire and mackay, writers have not done the best to respectfully examine marc's mental illness so please be aware of that
other than that, have fun with it! these comics are great and i hope you enjoy them

Ikemen Vampire- Beauty Within Series
Tumblr media
A/n : Hihi and warm hugs to my lovely otome game loving online family! I present to you : Vampire women! Well technically I'm calling it "Ikemen Vampire : Beauty Within" idk I'm trying not to overthink stuff as I'm doing this...it's hard...anyways! You probably recognize Lizzie since she was my first oc! She'll be a part of this! And maybe you've potentially heard about me buzzing about taking a historical figure from my Historical Overview of Childhood class and vampire-ifying her! That would be Maria Montessori, or Mari as I'm calling her! The rest you'll find out soon enough :3 Before I start I just wanted to get something off my chest...I'm sorry but I won't be able to follow Cybrid's way of doing things...so 26 chapters with a romantic and dramatic ending would be too difficult for me right now so I'm very sorry...I'll be using a different format with probably less chapters...hope you'll still enjoy! Please no constructive criticism since I really can't take that right now...I'm a severely anxious bean...and it's exam week/finals/every important thing is due so I'm sorry that I can't do an in-depth analysis of each character but I'll do my best to make them enjoyable!...so please be gentle with me! Anyways! Enjoy! Sending hugs and hope you'll have a lovely day today!!! Oh! And the art was done by an irl friend  :)
This will be a series about some Ikemen Vampire ocs! Because...women :3
Prologue :
Y/n looked out of the carriage window, she couldn't believe all that was happening so early in the morning, she yawned as she tried to replay the sequence of events that brought her here to this very seat.
It started when she woke up from an odd dream. In that dream there were five figures and an interesting room that contained nothing at all exept that all the walls were mirrors, she felt a lot of different things, all of which made no sense like a feeling of pride and a sense of belonging and community. She heard one phrase five times, with five different voices. "I will cherish it all. Your body, your heart, and your destiny, as we walk towards the future side by side."
Once she woke up, she decided to ask the mansion residents what it might be about and that's when Comte said "I think this dream makes sense Ma Chèrie, an old friend of mine is settling into town, it would seem she felt left out that the party, as she put it, was all in France without her, so she recently got a place of her own, I think you should visit and say hello on behalf of all of us, perhaps you could see if these vampires are anything like the figures you saw in your dream" he offered.
Y/n beamed in delight "That sounds great! Thank you Comte! I think I'll go do just that!" And with a sense of curiosity that she needed to fulfill, she got into a carriage and was headed to meet Comte's old friend.
The carriage stopped at a lovely estate, Old vines crept up the sides and many sculpted arches decorated the facade of the house. The lawn was well manicured, the windows spotless, it definitely looked like it had already been given a loving touch by the new residents that it was housing.
Y/n awkwardly stood at the door, wondering if she would even make a good impression! But before she could wonder about impressions a second longer, a voice crept up from behind. "Oh my! A visitor already! Come inside my dear!" Y/n blushed at the unexpected greeting, "Oh! Thank you" she mumbled shyly as she entered the estate, she followed the figure inside who had long golden locks of hair and a purple dress, and much like the beauty in front of her, Y/n couldn't help but notice how pretty the interior of the house was too.
It was very clean, and joyful, with flower arrangements and lavish furniture. It was reminiscent of Comte's mansion but a touch more airy. "My my! You look lost in wonderland my dear! Spot a fairy in that vase by chance?" Asked the figure in front of her. Y/n smiled and blushed, "Oh! Sorry, my name is Y/n, I'm the newest resident at Comte's mansion, I came to say hello on behalf of everyone there, are you by chance the vampire friend Comte was talking about?" She asked.
The figure before her smiled before shaking her head "I'm afraid not dearest, I'm one of the lesser vampires in this estate, my name is Lizzie! It's lovely to meet you! the pureblood you're looking for is our beloved Vasílissa, she'll be home soon! I promise, for now how about I introduce you to everyone around here?" Lizzie offered.
Y/n smiled, "that would be great! Thank you!" She agreed. Lizzie excitedly took her hand and led her around the estate before coming to the library. Lizzie knocked carefully on the door. "Mari! Come on! Open up now, come say hello to our guest!" A few moments of silence passed before the door opened and a petite girl with messy buns and a pink and white dress walked out, she shyly looked up at Y/n. "It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Maria" she quietly muttered. Lizzie happily hugged her friend, "Awww, Mari, this is Y/n and she's happy to meet you! Sorry for bugging you! Good luck with your project!" She said as Maria blushed and dismissed herself walking back inside the library.
"Awww! Ever the shy one that Mari! Come along now Y/n dear! Let me introduce you to our lovely Josie!" Lizzie chittered leading her to a room with metal railings on the walls, Lizzie stopped and turned to Y/n. "Now dear, this is our dance studio, Josie might be busy practicing so we'll just pop in and see if she's busy!"
Y/n followed along and watched the graceful dancing of Josie, the green of her hair and light mint dress reminiscent of the joy of verdant summer. Josie spotted the two of them and walked over. "Ah! Lizzie, ma belle! What brings you over here at this time of day?"
Lizzie excitedly gestured towards Y/n. "Josie! We have a guest from Comte's mansion! Her name is Y/n, isn't she just the most darling thing!" She chittered excitedly.
Josie walked over and offered a handshake to the new guest of thier estate. "Ma Colombe, it's a pleasure to meet you! Please come by whenever you'd like to, my studio is always open to you."
Y/n happily shook her hand. "It's lovely to meet you too Josie! I bet we'll all become great friends!" Josie smiled, "I'll see you both in a bit after I finish this rehearsal, in the meantime, how about you visit Madame?" She offered.
Lizzie excitedly bounced with joy "Oh lovely idea Josie! Any chance you know where to find her?" Josie sighed."There's a chance she's in the basement, maybe try the wine cellar" she offered.
Lizzie nodded excitedly, "Right then! Off to the cellar, let's go Y/n dearest! Thank you Josie!" Josie waved happily as they both left for the basement.
Lizzie held Y/n hand as they walked downstairs. "Careful dearest! Try not to trip, I'll be right here in case you need me" She offered. Y/n smiled as she held Lizzie's hand.
They walked down a dimly lit hallway until they heard a voice. "I came here for some peace and quiet, what is it now, Lizzie?" The voice asked.
Lizzie quickly entered the room where the voice came from. "Ah! Madame! Drinking again? I'll be taking that from you, thank you very much! Your poor liver doesn't like this you know" Lizzie scolded.
Y/n quietly stepped in to see a handsome woman, magenta braided loops hung in the back, a pirate sword at her side, and a scar over her left cheek.
Y/n awkwardly offered a handshake. "It's lovely to meet you, I'm the guest from Comte's mansion, Y/n" she said.
The pirate got up and shook her hand. "I have many names, but you may know me as Madame Ching, I was a feared pirate you know! Baobei, you may call me Madame if you'd like, most people do anyways."
Y/n blushed shaking her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you" she said once more. Madame Ching smirked. "Well if you need me I'll be awaiting Vasílissa's return upstairs" she said.
Suddenly a sharp noise caught thier attention, much like the sound of glass shattering.
Lizzie winced at the noise. Madame Ching grinned, "Well that would be her" she explained.
Lizzie relaxed a little "Right then! Come with me Y/n, I'll introduce you to our beloved Vasílissa" she offered, then turned to Madame, "And you aren't off the hook yet, I'll be testing your liver later to see how damaged it really is" she stated before excitedly taking Y/n's hand and leading her upstairs as Madame Ching followed silently.
They walked upstairs to see Josie and Mari already talking with a tall woman, who turned to greet the others. "Elizabeth, Ching, who's this vision of Aphrodite's image?" She asked.
Lizzie jumped excitedly "Vasílissa! Welcome home, I hope work went well! This is our guest from Comte's mansion, her name is Y/n" Lizzie happily chittered.
Vasílissa walked over to Y/n offering a handshake. "So you're the girl that followed Comte through his rickety old door? Any friend of Comte's is a friend of mine, you're welcome here under my roof, I'll have a room set up for you when you stay" She stated.
Y/n shook her hand, Vasílissa had such a firm and strong handshake, making her blush. "Stay for tea, I'd like to hear more from you" Vasílissa asked.
Y/n nodded in agreement. The residents decided to make thier way to the dining room as Vasílissa poured each of them some tea.
Once Lizzie finished she dismissed herself. "Y/n dearest, I'm so sorry but I have something I must attend to, please make yourself at home with Mari, Josie, and Vasílissa, I'll be stealing Madame for a bit" she stated.
Y/n smiled and said her farewells to the two before they left, Madame Ching rolling her eyes as Lizzie guided her to the hospital wing of the estate.
She looked over to the remaining three who sat quietly, the energy in the room much more quiet now without Lizzie. "Um, if it's alright may I ask how you all came to live here with Vasílissa?" Y/n asked.
Josie smiled, "Well you see, Ma Colombe, we actually found her! At some point in our lives we just kind of met her, much like you did, out of nowhere! Vasílissa says the women who find her are typically meant to be a gift to the world."
Vasílissa smiles and nods in agreement. Mari nervously looks away and nods, "I founded an early childhood education method, oh! my full name is Maria Montessori by the way, I may have forgot to tell you earlier, apologies for that, and the project I'm working on is bettering early childhood education for vampire newborns, preschoolers, and toddlers, I'm researching how thier development differs from humans in a way to maximize thier growth, knowledge, and self-esteem at this stage" she explained.
Josie smiled. "Oh! My name is Freda Josephine Baker, or Joséphine Baker usually, but we've all grown used to Lizzie's nicknames for us! Well there's quite a bit I've done but let's just keep it at dancing, singing, maybe a pinch of activism" She added.
Vasílissa smiled and set down her cup of tea. "Speaking of Lizzie, she made great contributions to women having a presence in medicine, one of the first women to get a medical degree, Lizzie can't watch suffering and pain, she's our go-to doctor for most vampires really, she takes health very seriously, and by now having been my first lesser vampire she's collecting medical specialties like they're going out of style, that Elizabeth Blackwell, she's done a lot!" Vasílissa said.
Y/n couldn't believe the people she was sitting in the room with! That feeling of when she first met the residents back at Comte's mansion was coming back! They were all so impressive!
Vasílissa noticed Y/n's delight. "And last by not least we have Madame Ching, well she's a successful pirate leader, that woman knew what she wanted and did just that! She commanded around 24 ships and set some cold hard rules, she's the opposite to Lizzie, always getting a taste of danger, the stories of her travels are always amusing, you should ask sometime" she finished.
Y/n beamed in delight, loving the company that gathered here! "Oh! But what about you Vasílissa?" She asked. The pureblood laughed. "Some other time my dear, it's nothing important" she answered.
Y/n nodded and wondered curiously what that might mean. The group chatted for a while until Y/n noticed the fading light in the sky. "Oh! I should go home" she muttered.
Vasílissa looked outside as well. "It's getting late, how about you stay the night? Comte knows you're in good hands, don't worry. In the meantime it will be nice to be around women for a while now that you've spent months around men." She offered.
Y/n smiled, "Well, I am rather tired, may I take you up on your offer?" She asked.
The pureblood nodded in agreement as the two lesser vampires smiled at eachother too.
Mari and Josie quickly got up as Mari turned to Y/n. "Wait right here, we'll help set up a room, and um, we're glad to have you" she murmured quietly.
Josie silently slipped her hand into Mari's and they both walked upstairs.
Vasílissa looked at the girl in front of her. "You know, I feel you're destined for something too, I can't wait to see what the future holds" she said.
Y/n blushed. "Um, thank you" she replied. Vasílissa yawned and looked over at her, "well let's make our way upstairs. We'll talk more tomorrow" she offered. Y/n nodded, "I think that's a good idea" They both walked upstairs as night fell upon the estate.

Angel The Series. Obviously.
bless you for asking 🌹 i finished it yesterday and the opinions are Brewing
my favorite female character: Cordelia. I grew so, so very attached to her during my watch - I always liked her a lot, but I wasn't hugely invested in her in BTVS either. Here, though? Favorite. Which made season four and five all the more frustrating at times, especially given what we know of the behind the scenes stuff with CC and JW T_T. But yeah, I love Cordelia. She's a fun foil for a character like Angel, and her journey with the visions - and the fact that she didn't want to give them up - was really enjoyable for me
my favorite male character: At the risk of sounding obvious, Angel? I keep trying to articulate the why of it, and it comes down to just the fact that I just... like him. Wesley from season 3 on comes very close, but in general, I tend to root for Angel more. The biggest indicator of my liking for Angel was that the second Spike came onto the scene, I was hissing like a cat like "ok vampire with a soul is ANGEL'S THING"
my favorite book/season/etc: I find it hard to choose between 2 and 3 atm. 2 had Angel's little dark spiral, which I found very fun, and season 3 had the whole "the father kills the son" arc, which was the most invested I ever was in this show
my favorite episode (if its a tv show): season 5 is fresher in my mind, so I'm going to say episode 12 of season 5, because that one has Cordelia in it - and is, thankfully, a nice send-off for her, though I'll forever be bitter she couldn't be around for the whole season (It might have made me less resentful of Spike's general presence, tho I did enjoy him regardless)
my favorite cast member: Idk much about them as people, but I'm going to say Alexis Denisof kILLED as unshaven miserable Wesley, and I was very impressed with him
my favorite ship: I hesitate between Angel x Cordelia and Wesley x Lilah. Angel x Cordy took me by surprise - I'm a diehard Bangel, and before watching ATS, the knowledge that Angel x Cordy became a thing made me a hater already. But I was surprised by how their friendship grew, and the Ship was Awakened in me when Angel was obviously deeply upset that Cordelia was still mad at him in season 2. That being said, I also think I'd have been satisfied with Angel x Cordy without the romantic element, as long as they kept the close friends/warriors for good aspect. It's the kind of ship that I feel could stay friends (unlike, say, Bangel, to refer to Spike's little 'You'll never be friends' speech", which I know you're familiar with xD), and I do like my ships with a bit more bite, no pun intended. And Wesley x Lilah was a fucking delight. Didn't see it coming, enjoyed every second of it, right down to the corpse head chopping. OH, I also enjoyed Lindsey x Darla for what it was. Lindsey in general was a fav of mine - he's just neat!
a character I’d die defending: Mmmm. No answer springs to mind, but I will say, I found myself kind of protective of Harmony in season 5 - I know she's a soulless little demon, but like, be nice to her (the fact that Spike was so dismissive of her got under my skin like BRO where's that soul of yours now)
a character I just can’t sympathize with: I desperately want to say Andrew, but we barely saw him, and that's mostly my BTVS feelings bleeding over. I'm sure there are answers among the villains, but nobody comes to mind.
a character I grew to love: Definitely Wesley. I was never too keen on him, but then, gosh. His dark side is just FASCINATING and I love him to bits.
my anti otp: unfortunately i can't say sp*ffy for ATS xD but otherwise, i don't think there's any ship on Angel I outright hate. Though Connor x Cordelia was definitely unpleasant, I don't really count it as a ship. I guess.... Angel x Nina didn't do much for me? But we barely saw them together, so, it's hard to muster any anti otp hatred. Fred x Wesley didn't do much for me (I always side-eyed them because from the start, I was convinced it would mean nothing good for Gunn), but without Fred x Wesley, you don't get Wesley x Illyria, which was the highlight of my late season 5 viewing 💙

can i ask why u still playthrough twc if u don’t like it? this ask is not supposed to come off accusatory btw just gen curious, feel free to ignore :-)
Cuz I still like parts of it! I like the characters, I liked most of the first book, I like the setting, I like the idea of a small-town detective finding out there's a whole supernatural world out there, I like the idea of dealing with a shady organization and deciding whether you trust them or not.
I also love the idea of a loner detective with trust issues slowly and reluctantly growing to like four new people they're forced to interact with, like a buddy cop type deal, but there's four of them and you have unresolved sexual tension with one of them. I'm still very much invested in my idea of my detective/Mason, so much so that I'm still interested in the crumbs I get from the source material.
And yeah, maybe I shouldn't judge the games for what they're not and instead evaluate them for what they are, which is a fair counter to my criticisms. However ... these things are there. There's a loner vs team player stat, so it's clearly meant to be a factor in your character's interactions with the rest of UB. There's clear found family dynamics attempted in how characters speak and what they say, and we're meant to believe the detective becomes a part of this world and the overall team, and that there's a choice in how you deal with the Agency.
It's just not ... very good. Ya know? It's all there, but it's not done well.
I want, desperately, for this thing to be good again. And maybe that's on me for asking for something I shouldn't have. But judging by the reaction to book 3, it's not just on me, is it? Maybe some people don't think it's fair to judge a "light and fluffy vampire romance simulator" by some higher standards, but I dunno if my standards are that high? Since the first and some of the second book clearly reached them? Meaning the author is fully capable of doing it again?
I think that, if you're spending so much time on something you enjoy, writing fic and drawing fanart, doesn't it ... deserve to have higher standards placed upon it? Like if you play with a thing frequently, it needs to be made of sturdier stuff, no?
Plus, like, it's a product that people pay for. You can't apply fanfic rules to media you pay for. People should have the right to talk about it, even if you don't like what you hear.
Anyway, back to why I do things. I like to take apart the things I enjoy. It's part of why I enjoy them. I love Dragon Age but I'm constantly critical of everything in it. Will I buy the next game? Yes. I also love Mass Effect, it's my favorite video game series behind Dishonored. And it's also a bunch of jingoistic military propaganda. Shit be like that.
I dunno. I can dunk on things I enjoy and it doesn't take away from my enjoyment of them. Usually it just adds to it, and it makes me more aware of the things I do love about them. I get that some people aren't like that but that's just how I vibe.
Edit: I also want to say that another thing that maybe explains why I do shit like this is because I fundamentally don't understand the "other side", so to speak. People who find that others' criticisms ruin their enjoyment of things. If I like a thing, and I see criticisms of it, my reaction is either "Oh, good point! I hadn't thought of it that way, and I agree!" or "Oh, interesting observation! I disagree, but this is a well-made argument!", and in the worst cases, I go "Lmao ok. This is plain wrong and you're wrong for saying it. Goodbye." So either it affects me for the better (I learned something new or got insight into a different viewpoint), or it doesn't affect me at all (and my enjoyment of the thing continues). The idea of someone else saying something I disagree with ruining something for me is just not ... logical, to me? It doesn't parse. I fundamentally don't understand the thought process.

ur thoughts and opinions on bald gate 3: do i actually want to play it or do i just like being involved in the popular game of the week. what’s the sales pitch. would i derive more joy from just rotating my dnd character around in my head for a bit. hello 🎤
Okay. So here’s what I think.
Disclaimer, I've recently started playing and I'm going into the game largely blind. I've only played about 18 hours so far, because I have a full time job so I really at best have only had a chance to play it a few hours at a time in the evening.
If you are interested in a very classic D&D campaign vibes (meaning, canon D&D setting of Faerun, canon races and history) and general sort of fantasy adventure vibes, then it’s probably up your alley a bit.
If you aren’t the biggest fan of canon d&d, whether it be the setting, the racism, or you prefer just more home brew stuff, it might not be the most enjoyable and you would probably get more enjoyment by rotating ur d&d character in your head.
For me it scratches the itch of the very classic d&d campaign, I personally have never cared for D&D canon and have pretty much exclusively only played homebrew or modified d&d, but I think it’s enjoyable enough having a misfit group of fuck ups tied together by circumstance having to come together to do some task. I'm not a big fan of you know, the racism that the fantasy genre and D&D are obsessed and saturated with. Is it enjoyable and/or interesting? Yeah, personally as mentioned I like fantasy adventure games and like having dice rolls and skills. The companions are interesting, though Astarion is really overrated and I feel like he's liked because he's a white vampire twink.
I think there's plenty of criticisms or complaints about the game or mechanics, but I can't go too in depth yet I feel since I haven't played enough to get a good feel for everything. The combat and controls took a little getting used to, the character creator is a little limited currently, there's all the canon d&d stuff I've never liked or fucked with even after 5+ years of playing d&d, etc.
So I guess TL:DR is: if you like the stereotypical classic d&d game and campaign, or similar fantasy adventure rpgs, it's a fair game. Otherwise I'd say it might not be the best choice. Also if you're playing on a computer it's pretty intensive and a big game so be warned of that, I nearly killed my casual laptop, and it's over 100gb so took up a large chunk of my gaming laptops memory, but other people probably have better set ups (this gaming laptop of mine I originally bought for the purposes of my brief amateur overwatch e-sports career).

What I Watched This Week – 1/28 – 2/3
Tumblr media
Akuma-kun (ONA) – This appears to be a sequel to a 60-year-old series that I haven’t seen or read, so I hadn’t planned to watch it. I saw it got nominated in the backgrounds category, though, and I figured I’d give it a go. I might have been missing some stuff from the earlier series, but if I was, it didn’t really feel like it, as the story stood alone just fine. It follows a paranormal investigator named Ichirou Umoregi, who operates out of a dingy office cluttered with books alongside his half-human/half-demon assistant, Mephisto III. Most episodes have the characters encounter some supernatural situation involving wayward demons where Ichirou unravels the mystery behind the incident, and Mephisto forces the demon to go back home. It wouldn’t be my top pick in the category, but it definitely has excellent background art, which fits the cartoony style just about perfectly. Yuuki Kaji does an excellent job voicing Ichirou/Akuma-kun, giving him the right mix of dispassionate rational thinker and young man still working through childhood abandonment. The cases were suitably creepy, and the ending caught me by surprise. Definitely a good show to keep on tap for spooky season. 7/10
Tumblr media
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby Season 3 – Having completed this entry in the series, I can confidently say that it’s an awful pick for the slice of life shortlist in the r/anime awards. Not only is it not very good, it is categorically not a slice of life in the slightest. If I asked people to recommend me a slice of life anime, and they suggested an action-heavy racing drama full of screaming horse girls, I would think they were trolling me. Maybe it has some connection to the real life horse she’s based on, I don’t care enough about the show to look it up, but the constant screaming while Kitasan was running was unbelievably annoying, and I adore the screaming boys of Haikyuu. Combining this irritating noise with the lousy way the story introduced and then just sort of forgot about her rivals, there wasn’t a whole lot to recommend here. I can’t help but feel it’s stealing a spot from shows that were both much more enjoyable and actual slice of life stories. 5/10
Tumblr media
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off – The way all the marketing for this emphasized that they were bringing back the cast of the movie left me uninterested in watching it, as I figured it was just going to be a nostalgia grab. It kept showing up on different best of fall lists, and it got nominated in the adventure and animation categories, so I figured I’d take a look. As I had figured, the English version was not super good. Actors do not always make very good voice actors, and a few of them were pretty wooden-sounding. It was weird to have Japanese voices in this very North American/Canadian story full of English language pop music, but switching it to Japanese was the right decision, I think. Once I did that, I got an extremely fun adventure centered on Ramona Flowers that imagined a story where Scott lost the first fight against her seven evil exes. The character designs were charmingly creative, the color palette was great, and the animation went hard when it needed to. Most importantly, the soundtrack was as good as I hoped it would be, with songs from the Dead Kennedys, Vampire Weekend, and Metric alongside an original score. 8/10

Winter 2023 Anime Review
This has got to be the longest season ever. I swear I stopped watching anime for a good few months and came back and the season's still going. I definitely cut down the amount of shows I watched this season since I burnt out but the upcoming Spring season should be a banger. My top 3 for this season: Buddy Daddies Sugar Apple Fairy Tail The Vampire Dies in No Time Season 2 Here's this seasons final reviews:
Tumblr media
Giant Beasts of Ars - 12 Episodes Definitely one of the better anime originals I've seen in a while. This is a new sci-fi fantasy concept that felt a little reminiscent of Ghibli content. I was satisfied with the story but was a little disappointed they didn't end it off with 1 season. 8/10- Very Good
Tumblr media
Trigun Stampede - 12 Episodes I honestly loved this. Studio Orange killed it with the 3d animations (they did Beastars) and the story is well rounded. I think the series is definitely underated and many people skipped it due to the animation style but it's 100% worth a watch. 8/10 - Very Good
Tumblr media
Vinland Saga Season 2 - (Still airing - 12/24 Episodes) Who knew we'd see Facebook's farmville be animated in such detail. But honestly, the first half of this season is absolutely brutal. I know they're keeping it real and the slow pace makes the rest of the season stand out all that much more but damn. Doesn't pick up until episode 9 but somehow I still have high hopes for the rest of the season. (Side note - Mappa is killing it as usual with this take-over) 7/10 - Good
Tumblr media
Blue Lock - Part 2 (Episodes 13-24) This is definitely still one of the best sports anime I've seen in the last few years. All the characters are unique and enjoyable to watch, the art style is solid and well executed and the story progresses at a decent rate. I honestly don't have many complaints about this series. (of course other than the usual butchering of english in the last 2 episodes) If you like sports anime, soccer or just want to watcha battle royal, this is one to check out. 8/10 - Very Good Endo and Kobayashi Live! - 12 Episodes This honestly didn't feel like a novel concept but I had a lot of fun. It's 2 romance stories in 1 but with all the fun of shitty otome game intervention animes. (I can't believe this is a genre now). Just overall wholesome fun. 7/10 - Good Revenger - 12 Episodes I really thought this series could've been better. While I did enjoy it to some extent, the story ended up feeling very superficial and didn't feel like it really went in depth on any of the characters and just floated along the surface story for the whole season. 5/10 - Average Tomo-Chan is a Girl - 13 Episodes I nearly stopped at the first episode. I'm still not 100% sold on the concept where this strong girl just wants to be seen as a romantic interest and a lot of the gender stuff was really on the edge but I think they managed to walk around it. The story did end up being cute without it stepping all over tomboys. Was fun to watch but not as good as the hype behind the manga. 6/10 - Fine Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill - 12 Episodes I really enjoyed the manga for this series and I was stoked that Mappa picked it up. I found that as long as you don't try to look for a serious story from this series it's a fun lighthearted watch. Definitely made me hungry while watching. 7/10 - Good The Eminence In Shadow - Second Half I think this show was actually pretty fun. Definitely more of a fantasy than isekai since it has nothing to do with his previous life. I had fun with Shadow's character but found that it got boring for a few episodes until the end. If it continues I'll likely still check it out. 7/10 - Good
The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague - 12 Episodes This was really cute and I liked the change of pace from other romance series where they're all workforce adults, like in Wotakoi. Still felt that it didn't really go anywhere. Enjoyed it but likely won't continue to watch if there's a second season. 6/10 - Fine

N and/or T for the ask game? c:
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice): Since I already answered this one for Deltarune I'll be answering this one for my second primary interest, The Sims 2! :) 1. I wish Simmers cared less about what other people think on what they do in their Sandbox game at times. The most interesting stories and gameplays were those of Simmers who just fully played their game the way they wanted to. For example, Alpha CC often gets kinda looked down upon in the Sims 2 fandom nowadays and while the more realistic look definitely isn't my cup of tea I love how much time these Simmers put into their Sims and general enjoyment. Heck my favourite Sims Streamer plays with Alpha CC haha! Or heck, if you want to pair Buzz Grunt with Brandi Broke, please do that, have fun! Who cares how random some of it is.
2. I honestly would love to see more stuff related to Veronaville, Belladonna Cove and Desiderata Valley. The fandom really loves Pleasantview and Strangetown and while I definitely love those towns I feel like the other ones can be quite interesting as well sometimes and do deserve some love.
3. Would love to see more fanart, especially of the spin-off games, who get so little attention but are quite interesting. While it's quite easy to find when you know where to look, there are so many characters that would look so nice in art! :'D
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything): Answering this one for The Sims 2 and Deltarune hehe! I'm always bad with coming up with these from the top of my head so I may be forgetting a few but here are some that immediately pop in my mind:
For The Sims 2: - Tybalt Capp, Hal Capp, Orion Tricou, Annie Howell, Nervous Subject and Tank Grunt are all gay. Nothing can change this for me haha. I refuse to ever pair them with a Sim of the opposite gender. - Daniel Pleasant and Mary-Sue Pleasant both made mistakes in their relationship and will likely never manage to work out romantically. The best option for them is to get a divorce and once they've had the time to work on themselves I can see them becoming very close friends again, but that's also where it stays. - All of the Tricou Sims were Vampires and Jon Smith isn't a good person despite what his personality may tell you. - Veronaville is doomed to follow a similar fate to what they were based on, meaning many people will die. The only difference is that they may be able to write the ending to their tale. - Sims biology works very different, hence pretty much anyone would be able to have a biological kid, regardless of gender. This means two female Sims or two male Sims can also have biological kids. I mean heck, the game gives me this option, why not run with it? Sims 2 biology is way too much fun not to see what kids will look like! xD - Romeo Monty, Hermia Capp, Puck Summerdream, Hal Capp and Unborn Baby Broke (who is named Skippy in my game) are trans. I also really like the headcanon of trans Jenny Smith.
For Deltarune: - Jevil, Spamton, Berdly, Noelle, Rouxls, Diamond King and Swatch are all trans. (Of course Kris, Seam, Mettaton and Mew Mew are in canon, but I'm just mentioning headcanons here). - Darkners are NOT one or two days old. I really dislike the headcanon that they became sentient the moment their fountains were open. I feel like they are all AT LEAST as old as their Light World objects are, if not older. As of right now I headcanon while some Darkners came with their objects, some existed long before them and once an object came into the world with their properties they became connected to it. Upon being connected to an object their strengths and capabilities increase. The Fountains are moreso a bridge if anything that makes it possible for Lightners to properly interact with them or see them. - Spamton and Jevil were in a sense written to be each other's counterpart. A balance so to say. Hence while their first instinct is to dislike each other, they grow especially close and inseparable over time. - Kris is selectively mute and has a form of autism. They are capable of speaking at times, but when they can't they use sign language which most people around them know by now. Ralsei, Berdly and Noelle also have a form of Autism. - Both Spamton and Jevil have a form of Tourettes and ADHD. - The reason Rouxls enjoyed long dungeon walks is because of the fact he got to speak to most of the people King Spades inprisoned. This includes the Diamond King, with who he became especially close. - Rouxls was once married to King Spades. When King Spades turned out the way he did he stripped Rouxls off his title, but a part of him couldn't bear to part entirely with him, hence he got turned into the Duke of Puzzles. - Jevil is the direct cause of Seam's injuries, which happened during a performance and were the final blow that made King Spades decide to have Seam imprison him. - Seam is likely one, if not the most powerful entity we'll ever encounter in the Dark World. - The Weather People from Chapter 3 are siblings, twins to be more specific and I will die on this hill unless proven wrong lmao. Which knowing my luck will probably happen. :'D - Noelle was the one that caused so much destruction to the first half of Chapter 2. It's why Queen knew she was powerful and wanted to protect her from it, she's witnessed it first hand! - Spamton is not and has never been an Addison which is why he always struggled to fully fit in with them or sell properly. He looks an awful lot like them, but he still isn't an Addison. His hair also was never fully white. - Noelle is a lesbian, Susie is bi, Kris is pan, Berdly is bi, Ralsei is pan, Spamton is pan (which with Sweepstakes seems to be confirmed as canon?), Jevil is pan, Rouxls is gay, Queen is bi, Tasque is a lesbian. Aaand I can go on like this for a while haha. - After the events of the game Spamton sort of becomes Kris's adoptive uncle and Jevil Noelle's adoptive uncle. - Kris and Berdly become a couple somewhere in college. - More of a theory as of right now, but I headcanon there are multiple Knights, with there only being one TRUE Knight. - Another that's moreso a theory as of right now. But I think Ralsei is aware of the Player, knows outside knowledge and actively despises us. This is why he wants those moments alone with Kris so he can speak with them, one on one without having someone spying on them. I also don't think Ralsei is evil, but he will end up doing questionable things that will end up hurting his friends without him realizing it. - I refuse to believe Kris and Berdly dislike each other, especially after Sweepstakes. I feel like the two have a rival-like relationship and love to tease each other. But at the end of the day when all is said and done they regularly love playing games with each other and probably have the weirdest Minecrap server out of everyone haha. I mean heck, when you give the gift to Berdly Kris runs over to him of their own accord to hand it over haha. - I like to think Berdly is pretty good at painting and drawing!
Sooooo, that's all for now lmao! If I remember any that I might have missed, I'll post them somewhere over time! xD

can you explain the storyline in critical role for me? if that's too much, who is your favorite character in critical role (and why)?
ohhhhh anon you shouldn’t have gotten me started…..
this is going to be so fucking long i’m so sorry so! critical role is a show/company comprised at it’s core of eight friends, all of whom are professional voice actors, playing dungeons & dragons together. they have 3 campaigns, the third of which is currently happening, as well as many oneshots, talk shows, an animated show, and more. each campaign has a very in-depth storyline, but i’ll do a brief summary of each of them. campaign 1 is vox machina, a ragtag band of mercenaries who become dragon-slaying, vampire-killing, god-fighting heroes. the characters (in my opinion) are all very lovable, and there's some really great romantic, platonic, and familial relationships. it's probably the most cliche in it's representation of fantasy and d&d so i recommend it for people who like that. there's also an animated show of it on amazon prime with one season out and another on the way! no knowledge of critical role is needed to watch the show,, it's how i got into cr in the first place. campaign 2 is the mighty nein, a bunch of fucked up and morally gray people who make a really good adventuring-team-turned-found-family. there’s a lot more diversity in these characters in terms of species/race than in campaign one, which can be enjoyable if you want your characters with horns and tails and tusks and funky-colored skin. full disclosure, i probably know the least about the mighty nein so some of the more complicated plot lines are more confusing to me,, that being said, i’ve still watched a lot of campaign 2 stuff and i adore them a whole lot. campaign 3 is bell’s hells, who really are just some guys that accidentally got involved in something way bigger than any of them. they’re all so dumb and easily trusting and so very lovely <3 there’s some really cool character designs and concepts, which i love. they’re currently on episode 34 of this campaign, so it’ll be going on for a while longer (the other two campaigns are 100+ episodes), which can be fun if you like watching things live. because this is already a full length essay, i’ll keep it very brief on the favorite characters part… my favorite characters are the three played by liam o’brien: vax’ildan, caleb widogast, and orym. liam is just such a phenomenal actor and his characters are so sad and emotional and fantastic and yeah i just love all three of them a whole lot <3 every campaign has moments that are wildly funny and moments that will make you cry your eyes out… there’s also fantastic queer characters in every campaign (including but not limited to aroace characters, multiple ace-spec characters, poly characters, a prominent wlw couple, and a lot more). in addition to the show, there are comics for campaigns one and two, and a published novel with one more on the way. anyways. i’m so sorry for how long this is, but that’s what you get for asking a neurodivergent person about their hyperfixation i guess 🤷‍♀️ i know critical role can seem like a lot, and that turns many people off of it, but you really don’t have to watch the entire thing in order to be a fan. i’ve been intensely hyperfixated on it for seven months, and i’ve watched one (1) episode in its entirety. it really is so so good and such a fun gateway into d&d as well as just a very enjoyable group of people to help restore your faith in humanity and bring a smile to your face. i could not recommend it highly enough.

@wizardysseus tagged me to do my ten favorite movies. ty! 💕i've done top movie lists a couple of times and to be honest my picks never really change or become more interesting, so i put my own little spin on it and decided to do my ten favorite films that i either watched or rewatched in the past year. (ish. i wasn't super strict about if it was exactly within the last 12 months.)
in no particular order...
ten favorite movies i watched within the last year
1. a girl walks home alone at night (2014): as one or two of you may have noticed, i got really into iwtv last year, and so i decided to expand my horizons and make an effort to watch more vampire films to get more familiar with the genre/lore. this was the first film i watched and it was a great introduction. the visuals and music were captivating. skater vampire girl you will forever be in my heart.
2. let the right one in (2008): this one has been on my to watch list for ages, and i finally got around to it thanks to my vampire kick. i have to say it did not disappoint. the story, the cinematography, the performances... all were top tier. the bond between the two leads was fascinating, and it's a great monstrous love story.
3. tàr (2022): i hadn't planned on seeing this one - i find cate blanchett tiresome a lot of the time (still defending woody allen in the year of our lord 2018!) - but i heard some pretty rave reviews by folks whose opinions i generally agree with, so i decided to give it a try. and i think it had a very fascinating script. i really appreciate a story with a lot of ambiguity to it, where you can have several strong interpretations of what's happening that are rooted in the text, and this film definitely has that in spades.
4. nope (2022): the fact this got no love during award season has me scratching my head. while it's not my favorite jordan peele project, the story was very fresh and keke palmer in particular i thought gave a really stellar performance. my main hang-up was with the monster... the non spoiler version being i just found some aspects of it didn't really work for me. but it was still a very solid film.
5. blade runner (1982): i watched this with some co-workers at the place i interned for the summer; we got a giant projector and got to watch it after-hours at the library where we we working and basically take up half a floor with snacks and such. so part of my enjoyment just comes from the fact it's linked in my mind to a nice day that i had. but as a sci-fi fan it was neat to see something so influential to the genre and see how much it had been drawn on. the treatment of the female characters left much to be desired lol, but the grimy future visuals were great, and i can see why it became so iconic.
6. the batman (2022): a superhero movie with actual cinematography, memorable performances, and a killer soundtrack? in this economy??? obviously i'm biased, i'm a huge batman fan and i enjoy robert pattinson, so i'm not exactly the hardest audience member to win over. but there have been so many terrible superhero movies in the past several years, and so seeing one that felt like an actual noir detective story and not just a bunch of quips in front of a greenscreen was a relief. the cast was great, and as a batcat fan it was really great to feel like i was actually being catered to with all focus on their relationship both in the film and all the promotional stuff like the photo-shoots and such. not normally the case in this genre lol.
7. everything everywhere all at once (2022): i don't know that i have anything to say about this movie that hasn't already been said better. it's fun, it's out of the box, michelle yeoh is a treasure, it does a lot with the multi-verse concept. i will say at times the film did feel a bit saccharine, particularly towards the end. ymmv when it comes to sappiness, but it overdid it for me. even so, it was a good time, and i'm very happy for attention it's brought michelle yeoh, who is so phenomenal.
8. turning red (2022): i watched this on a whim after seeing some folks online talking about it, and it was very cute. it reminded me a lot of what it was like to be a weird middle school girl. i don't really feel nostalgic for that part of my life at all, but this did have me thinking of my past self with some affection.
9. coded bias (2020): i believe i watched this after a discussion in a grad school class about racial bias in ai/algorithms. i enjoy a good documentary and found the film quite interesting and informative.
10. eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (2004): this one is one of my all-time favorites. i watched it again not long ago and it really holds up. i love non-linear storytelling and playing with the subjective/fallibility of memory, so this film is really just right in my wheelhouse. thanks to sailor moon, i also am obsessed with stories about whether the same people will fall in love again if they don't have their memories, so again. like catnip to me. the circular nature of the story, the way love is futile in this never ending circular story but still worth fighting for. i will be thinking about this one forever
