d&d ranger idea
call yourself "johnny appleseed"
learn the goodberry spell
call it goodapple instead
conjure apples with it instead of berries
call party members "good apples"
call monsters "bad apples"
catchphrase: "how do you like THEM apples?!" (spoken in a high-pitched, deranged voice, whenever anyone eats a goodberry goodapple, no matter the circumstance)

Day 36: Goodberry
Goodberry is a 1st-level transmutation spell that can be found in the Player's Handbook. It can be cast by druids and rangers.
Casting Time: 1 action
Components: V, S, M (a sprig of mistletoe)
Up to ten berries appear in your hand and are infused with magic for the duration. A creature can use its action to eat one berry. Eating a berry restores 1 hit point, and the berry provides enough nourishment to sustain a creature for one day.
The berries lose their potency if they have not been consumed within 24 hours of the casting of this spell.

The Best Spell in D&D
Let's talk about the best damn spell in D&D... for NPCs. Goodberry is a spell that makes ten magic berries appear. Each berry heals one hit point when eaten, and provides a day's worth of sustenance.
Ten hit points of berries isn't anything to write home about for most PCs, but it's a first level spell and you can burn all your spell slots before going to bed and store the berries for the next day because leftover berries last for 24 hours.
So you're an NPC in a typical NPC village. You work hard and manage to become a level one druid - since you're a normal NPC level one is pretty much the most you can hope for, and that's okay - you now have two spell slots to cast your one prepared spell with and you have saved your whole village forever.
First of all, you can feed twenty people a day and that's pretty damn nice. Villagers are poor, we all know that, and they constantly have their farms raided by goblins or burned up by dragons. Feeding twenty of them a day is a huge help.
Second, commoners have a stat block in the rules and guess how many hit points they have? Four. So with one berry, you're healing a quarter of their maximum health. Think about what that means - one berry would be enough to fix almost any injury that wasn't life-threatening. Worst case scenario you could heal five people per day from zero points to full health.
Also you have some cantrips, probably Mending to fix things around town and Druidcraft to help with gardening. You're the most popular and useful person in the village, everyone owes you for some time where you healed them or fed them or saved their dumbass kid after he fell from the top of the barn.
Goodberry is the ultimate NPC spell.

The episode Mirror Mirror says they arrive in a hospitable estate, I wonder if this is the place with the host named Goodberry. She was in the S2 cast list but we haven't seen her yet.
Oh, excellent point! Yeah, that would make a lot of sense!

I went to go get goodberry some plants but the store i went to was weird so i got a snail I have named Shuckle and a new decoration that might be too big but I thought would distract him for a bit so he would leave Shuckle alone. He tried to bully them through the plastic a bit but has already given up so I hope they'll be ok.

“The guest voice cast for season two includes Carol Kane as the mystical traveler Madame Canardist; Lil Rel Howery as a fast-talking host named Goodberry; Yvonne Strahovski as Eugene's old love interest Stalyan; Bruce Campbell as the bizarrely charming King Edmund; Britt Robertson as the whip-smart no nonsense teenager Vex; Timothy Dalton as inventor and adventurer Demanitus; Katy Mixon as the stunningly beautiful Seraphina; and Kathy Najimy as a sprightly and strange resident of the magical forest.”
Madame Canardist is most likely the fortune telling woman who travels with Vigor the Visionary (the monkey from the Tangled Movie credits).
Goodberry is a... host... host of what? Host of an inn our heroes are going to stay at, or host of the medieval version of The Price is Right? I gotta know now.
Stalyan is the one EVERYONE’S talking about. That’s going to be quite the episode. Soap opera style.
King Edmund voiced by Bruce Campbell? Aw yeah. I sure did like Burn Notice.
Vex! Another teenage character with a name starting with “V”! (Meanwhile Varian in a prison cell screaming in the distance “YOU CAN’T REPLACE ME VEX!”)
DEMANITUS! Oooooh boy. I thought he lived a zillion years ago in legends? But he’s alive??? This is getting interesting...
Seraphina! That’s a nice name. We don’t know anything more about her other than that she’s stunningly beautiful.
Hmm... the last one, I’m betting, is a spoiler. But it looks like we’re going to the magical forest, y’all! Bring your magical mosquito repellent.
I love all of the original characters in Tangled the Series / Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure. The world is so rich with diverse characters. And even minor characters seem to be round and dynamic with different personalities, motivations, and quirks that make them each so unique. Can’t wait for this season!!!!
