Living underground has never looked as good as they do in this house. The 1984 home is built under a hill in Goodlettsville, TN has 7bds, 5ba (must be a big hill). $1M.

I have to say that I've never seen such a beautiful underground home. Look at the skylight in the center hall.

The living room is very big and has a lovely fireplace.

The layout of the house is long and rooms are on both sides of an open central area.

The kitchen is the center of the home.

Space is well-utilized.

The bedrooms aren't huge, but they're ample size. This one could be the primary.

One of the baths is a nice shower room.

There's loads of room in the central space. This is a very big home.

It's hard to determine which is the primary bedroom. This one has an en-suite, so I guess it's flexible.

Here's a larger bedroom. It may be the primary or a guest room.

This is a very nice bath with a double sink.

Also on the property is a combination lodge/cabin.

It appears that the lodge is a guest house or it could be a rental.

There's a full kitchen.

It's like a large studio apt. with a wall separating the bedroom.

Decks and patios are attached to the house and the surrounding lot is 3.92 acres.

Pretty wild story

November 10, 1973 was a sad, sad day for all who loved Stringbean and his beloved wife of 28 years, Estell. Stringbean, aka String Bean, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, comedian, actor and even a semiprofessional baseball player. He was a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and also a member of the television show "Hee Haw." He was well known for his old style banjo picking, comedy, and his stage wardrobe. He wore a long nightshirt tucked into a short pair of blue jeans belted around his knees. He was born David Akeman June 17, 1915 - in Annville, Kentucky. He came from a musical family and was taught to play the banjo by his father, James. At age 12 he got his first banjo, of which he traded a pair of prize chickens for. As a teen and young man he began playing at local dances but, it was not enough money to live on. He joined the Depression -era Civilian Conservation Corps and worked hard building roads and planting trees. He entered a talent contest judged by Asa Martin. He won and was invited to join Martin's band. In one of Akeman's early appearances Martin forgot his name and introduced him as String Bean. Akeman liked the nickname and used it for the rest of his career. He entertained on radio and played with several groups in the late 1930s. In 1945 he married Estell Stanfill. In 1946 he began working with Grandpa Jones. They performed together at the Grand Ole Opry (and many years later on Hee Haw) and became neighbors in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. And more than that, they became best friends. Stringbean was one of the Opry's major stars in the 1950s. He was signed by the Starday label in the early 1960s, and recorded as a solo artist. Between 1962 and 1971 he recorded 7 albums. He is listed as one of the greatest old-time style banjo pickers. He was a modest and gentle man who lived simply. When not working he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Accustomed to the hard times of the Great Depression, he and his wife Estell lived frugally in a small cabin
