Wells Vertige, 2022. A new, British-made, mid-engined sports car has been revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week. Created by entrepreneur Robin Wells who, in 2014, went shopping for a sports car. Unable to find anything he wanted to buy Wells decided to make his own. The Vertige has a composite body mounted on a steel monocoque chassis, topped by a tubular steel roll-cage. Powered by a 208hp Ford 2.0 litre engine mounted transversally amidships the diminutive Vertige weighs only 850kg. Around the same length as a Ford Fiesta it is unusually narrow at 1.75metre, for improved manoeuvrability.
