For ask game: Dundy x Gore, art photography modern AU
Dundy threw his jacket over the back of the hotel chair and then collapsed, full-length, across the hotel bed. Ten days in New York, with one more to go. The show had been a roaring success, and he was exhausted. His mobile buzzed, in his trouser pocket. Weary as he was he smiled a bruised smile into the bedspread before rolling over to check the message from his Graham, come just in time as ever Guess where I am ;) the message said, with a photo taken in Dundy's home studio back in London. He recognized the paneling and the whiteboard with his shooting and travel schedule. What are you up do, beautiful Dundy wrote back. A moment later another text came in. A selfie. Graham, holding his vintage Nikkormat in one hand. The angle was purposefully cheeky but it was very obvious Graham was not wearing a shirt and might not in fact be wearing anything. Dundy sat up, his mouth falling open. how many exposures are there on the film roll for this thing Graham asked him. 24. Darling. Sweetheart. Dearest one. What ARE you doing You'll find out when you get home and develop the film 😘 Fly safe!

HELLO are u also a big dundy & sol enthusiast???? pls give me your favourite thoughts/headcanons/ships on both of them!!!! /ur mutual wllipt ✨️
AH HELLO yes i am i love them both to pieces, the big dumb idiots that they are
okay my first thought that came to mind is mutiny trial dundy is peak dundy. i don’t know what it is about that man during the trial but i could just lose my shit. i think that if dundy was told about fairholme separate from the trial he wouldn’t have reacted the way he did, but you can tell that nobody told the poor man help wasn’t coming until tozer opened his giant mouth
i also think that if they had maybe one more day, OR if the mutineers had convinced little to come with them (somehow), then some of them would have at least made it back to crozier - sol, armitage, goodsir for sure. i think sol was starting to realize that hickey was huffing too much paint thinner towards the end, especially when it all goes to shit and he and crozier work together to at least try and take down tuunbaq
my overall thought for the show is if graham gore survived a bit longer, things would not have been nearly as fucked as they were - also would’ve helped take some of the strain off dundy and jfj
as for ships: fitzconte, goreconte, and whatever little/le vesconte’s ship name is (yes they’re toxic but i’m also a hickeytozer apologist SO I MEAN) // hickeytozer, armitozer, solving (i love them your honour), and solittle my beloveds

Dundy always disliked Crozier—practically from the first moment he met him—but he didn’t hate the man until he repurposed Gore’s funeral oration to be Sir John’s. He disliked how the man had treated James, his constant drinking and his ill-concealed disdain for most of James’s choice of officers, but to take what had been dedicated to a man the crew so dearly loved—that he had so dearly loved—and shoddily change it to honor Sir John was an inexcusable offense in Le Vesconte’s eyes. Not only was it a slight to their well-loved Captain, but Graham received nothing—no words of praise, no mourning sermon, nothing. All because Crozier couldn’t be bothered to write his own speech for Sir John’s funeral. He stole the words meant for the man Dundy loved and drunkenly stumbled through them at that farce of a funeral. Dundy never forgave him for that and made no real attempt to hide his hatred for the man.

55 for goreconte? (for the intimacy prompts)
Oh man I adore this ship, a good morning to you too! Modern AU for this one, I'm not sure what I'm doing but... here's something ^^
Gore/Le Vesconte - 55: sleepovers
Graham hasn't even bothered making up the spare bed. The last three times Dundy has slept over it's not been used, and Graham supposes that at some point they'll talk about the way things have shifted between them, but that time isn't now. They're curled up on the sofa, Graham with his head against Dundy's shoulder, Dundy leaning just as heavily against him. The countdown to the next episode reaches zero, the display flicking over to a continuation of a show neither of them are really watching, and Graham turns his hand beneath where Dundy's rests over his. He isn't exactly tired, but he suggests they go to bed anyway. There's a warm hum in answer, a squeeze of his hand, and they slowly make their way towards Graham's room.
It's warm beneath the covers. It's cosy. They lie facing each other, having reached what is perhaps Graham's favourite part of having Dundy stay over: Idly talking until they fall asleep together. They remember old stories to each other and tell silly jokes, imagining all the ridiculous things they might do together in the future, laughing, listening, and watching each other talk until they're too tired to keep their eyes open. As Dundy eases closer, Graham murmurs in approval, holding Dundy tight for a moment, wanting all those things they've spoken about, as well as those they haven't. He wants this to last forever.
Come morning, they're still tangled together. As Dundy wakes and gives him a hazy, lopsided grin, Graham is tempted to ask him to stay. He manages not to, though, knowing that it's only a matter of time before Dundy stays over again. Maybe he'll ask him then.

For the -canons could I request Gore/Dundy? :D
Your wish is my command, oh mightly Lynx:
Headcanon:  Gore and Dundy have an easy friendship, the type of friendship that hardly ever had to start at all. One minute they were strangers, the next they were assigned comparable ranks on the same ship and were chuckling together over brandy glasses. Erebus fostered their relationship, moulding them into the kind of friends who offer each other comfort and kindness in the belly of the ship, their schedules and their position amongst the ranks keeping them within an arm’s reach of each other nearly every day. Dundy has a quick wit -- dry, sarcastic, biting when he wants it to be -- and Gore is the balm that soothes all Dundy’s sharp edges. Following up every teasing quip and cynical scepticism with warm words and a contagious sort of kindness. The way they bounce off one another becomes well known to the crew, so much so that they begin to interpret them as a pair, echoing off one another like shadows.
Heartcanon: Dundy has a sweet tooth. Gore is a health nut. Dundy has a plethora of bad habits -- cigarettes, candy before bed, more wine than he should probably consume on a Tuesday night. Gore has exactly one bad habit, and that’s enabling Dundy. Gore wakes up at 5am, goes for a jog, cooks breakfast, cleans the kitchen, and places tea on the table all before Dundy rolls out of bed. All bad habits come with a selfish sort of reward. Gore’s reward is the lazy kisses he gets in the kitchen before Dundy has brushed his teeth, yawn hidden behind his hand, drawling, ‘Darling, you always know exactly how I take my tea.’
Gutcanon: These two fight like cats and dogs. There’s only so many times Gore can complain about the smell of cigarette smoke on his jacket before Dundy gets fed up and tells him, ‘If you don’t like it, leave.’ And even Gore, well of patience that he is, runs dry sometimes. He worries about Dundy, isn’t sure if it’s self-indulgence or self-destruction that drives him to behave the way he does. They argue. Dundy accuses, Gore enables. They make up. They love one another. They do it all again another day. It isn’t toxic exactly, but it isn’t always easy either.
Junkcanon: [Admittedly this is largely related to my hockey AU buuuuut] Dundy loves it when Gore comes back from a game just a little bit bloody. Not truly injured, he’s not a sadist, but the sight of blood on his teeth or crusting his lip is enough for Dundy to chide him, “Look at you, you’re a mess, come on, into the bathroom with you, let me clean you up.” The rest he says on his knees.
Spleencanon: Is it too much of a cop-out to say ‘fuck you canon, Gore lives past episode 2’? Okay, fine, maybe. If yes, my other fuck-you to canon is this: Dundy isn’t a bad guy. He’s sharp sometimes, and yes, he does advocate for the whole ‘leaving the sick behind’ thing, but he has a good heart and a clever mind, and sometimes logic prevails over sentiment. Gore is never that way. Gore would let logic fall to the wayside in favor of making people around him happy. They complete each other in this way. Sun and shadow, head and heart.

“Love the One You’re With”
1.9k | Rated M | James Fitzjames/Henry T. D. Le Vesconte, Sir John Ross/Sir John Barrow
The day of the admiralty party from Sir John's flashback in Ep3.
Fitzjames, alight with excitement over the upcoming expedition, doesn't quite realize that his friend and subordinate is less interested in adventure and glory and more interested in being with him, wherever he goes.
Le Vesconte gets a piece of advice from the least likely person imaginable, and goes forward with a whole world of new possibilities before him.
Happy Birthday, my friend. It's late, but well. We've been busy. ❤️

CONSUMED
A Terror Sci-Fi AU  |  Part of The Terror Big Bang 2022
Featuring artwork by @oughtnots
The remains of the Discovery Ship Terebus are found in a region of space where they’re not supposed to be. A region of space where nothing is supposed to be.
Per navy protocol the ship has consumed itself in an attempt to generate enough power to keep the crew - locked in stasis - alive until they can be rescued. After over twenty years there’s almost nothing left of it. Only seven pods out of 24 remain.
Seven men, trapped inside their dreams.
Stasis is meant as measure of last-resort to hold out a few weeks. Months at most. Not decades. After so long the minds inside those bodies might be empty. They might be insane.
If the truth of what went wrong with the Terebus and its mission is ever going to become known, someone will have to try to coax the survivors back into the waking world. A trusted friend. A kind and handsome face.
Sir James Clark Ross is an old man now, and fragile. Fate has given him one final chance to save the friends who sailed away without him into the dark, all those years ago. He has to try.

Gore is a veritable furnace; the man absolutely radiates heat. This is perfect given Dundy loves to be warm. Graham is more than happy to indulge him, wrapping his arms around him and holding him gently to warm him up.
On a related note, Dundy always sleeps largely sprawled out on top of Graham, partially from a need to be as close to the man as he can be on the rare nights they have together and partially because it is so wonderfully warm.

Little kisses: Gore/Le Vesconte
It's a game, Dundy tells him, although Graham isn't sure what the point of it is, or how to tell who's winning. He feels like it's him, somehow, but given the way Dundy grins as he leans back in again, he's not so sure. Maybe there aren't any winners, and it's just an excuse for some fun.
Or maybe, Graham realises as Dundy steals another kiss and he decides that this time he's going to stop Dundy pulling away before kissing him properly, they're both winners.

Gore will occasionally “steal” the logbook Le Vesconte carries about and leave him little drawings in the margins. Dundy doesn’t mind him using it, in fact, he rather likes finding the sketches (usually accompanied by a short, affectionate note) while he’s working.

Graham and Dundy balance each other out well, especially in terms of personality. For all he affects good cheer and nonchalance, Le Vesconte is a chronic worrier, nearly to the point of downright pessimism. When things start to go badly, his mind almost always turns towards the worst. Gore, with his indefatigable optimism, keeps him from withdrawing too far into his own head and keeps him focused on the present moment and the good in it.
