For some reason, my ADHD brain decided to hyperfixate on Gorochu recently, and what a missed opportunity it was. Since Pichu basically robbed it of its potential place in Pikachu's evolutionary line, there's no realistic way for Gorochu to be reintroduced into the franchise without coming up with some brand new unnecessary game mechanic or something.

But then I started thinking "What if Gorochu was a brand new Pokémon altogether?" And I don't mean like another Pikaclone. This is Gorochu we're talking about, it deserves something better. I'm thinking it should be a Mythical/Legendary Pokémon with a clear connection to Pikachu akin to Diancie and Carbink.

The lore would go something like this:

"Gorochu, the Thunder Mouse Pokémon. Legend has it Gorochu was once an ordinary Pikachu that was transformed after being struck by lightning from Arceus. Everywhere Gorochu goes, terrible thunderstorms follow as it drums its tail against the ground to psych itself up for battle. As the most powerful Electric-Type in the world, not even Thundurus, Zapdos, or Zekrom can stand up to its might."

I think it's a pretty cool concept even if it probably will never come to pass. At the very least I'd settle for a Convergent Pokémon. (Sigh) But a man can dream.

So, I've had a set of "Partner Pokemon" drawings that I'm incorporating into my loose fangame plans sitting around for a bit now, but why not start my return off by posting these guys to here?

The game isn't planned to have many "Fakemon", and which ones it does will have will more or less be more regional forms like this! Each of the ones I have right now are tied to one of the "partner characters" you'll team up with, imagine if Rui could battle with you in Colosseum.

So here's the first one, a "regional" Pikachu line for who's planned to be the first-encountered partner! Do you think Gorochu should be compatible with Light Ball? Lol

I can only offer a little bit atm, but i do have some ideas on Ash’s pokemon disguises!

(None of them are seen all at once except Pikachu and Greninja)

Goodra and Noibat are used less frequently in disguise cause they don’t often encounter things where they are needed (the duo understand) but when they help, they help!

It’s easier to hide them around when people try copying Ash’s pokemon team as Ameka, so Ameka doesn’t have to worry about compromising his identity

SD9 - Hunted Blitzuno

Smaugust Day 9: Hunted [ 2023 ] This is Blitzuno, an Electric/Dragon Pokemon. The Jackalope Pokemon. A small rabbitlike dragon that is hunted as prey by Luxray and Manectric, due to its potent electricity. It's my take on a Pikaclone - being a mixture of a jackalope, dragon, and the fabled Gorochu. It will have a pre-evo, though I haven't designed it yet. Blitzuno is a mixture of the words "blitz" [lightning in German] and "tsuno". [horn/antler in Japanese] [Smaugust is an art challenge in August where one must draw one dragon a day.]
