YouTuber Madi Danger put out a video on a bunch of the goth and goth-adjacent bands that put out music in 2023, both albums and singles. There are a wide variety of subgenres included, so she's bound to have brought up something that you like.

Fun fact: I actually saw her when I was at Cruel World last year (at which some of the bands she mentions in here performed). She is in fact as short as she always says.

hey so i just remembered to say this, although its a year late, there's still assholes out there: lets not be assholes to baby bats (referring to both new goths and new metalheads)

just teach them a bit

and for the baby bats?

goth is about music and subculture, not just fashion (you can dress in pink fluffy tutus and still be goth, guys)

oh, you're wearing a master of puppets shirt? cool, i highly suggest listening to metallica's song "one", it's anti-war and pretty damn good

if you're gonna watch any gothtubers/alternative YouTubers: emily boo, it's black friday, and of herbs and altars are cool ones (ed warning for herbs and altars)

learn about the different types of metal (thrash, heavy, glam, and death metal are the most widespread of the genre)

crossover of the two: type o negative's a great goth metal band

anyways, don't bite the heads off bats, and don't support dollskill/kill star (emily boo has a video on small alt brands you can support)

Tbh i have no sympathy for youtubers or other internet "celebrities" whose entire income is based on a fleeting, unstable market who then go broke and have no money and whine about demonitizing their YouTube or whatever. Or they have like, weekly hauls and then post gofuckmes for vacations and meetups because they don't have the capital to live in la la land where nobody has to work or develop any actual skills. Like should I really be feeling bad for someone who didn't realize that screwing around on the internet isnt a real job??? Or that they got internet famous, never took any interest in developing business skills or a way to monetize an actual hobby. I'm not giving money to lazy cunts who refuse to get a real job when being an internet goth isnt supporting their lifestyle.

Yeah!! I watch quite a few, but you're right that the number of active gothtubers has been dwindling ): Either that or its all like...haul videos. (I could rant about the saturation of haul goth videos but-)

im on a gothtube binge and noah fence but why are some people so fuckin mean about emos lol like.....yeah emo isnt goth and vice versa whatever but there is a good bit of cross over and also what do you even gain from being mean to a demographic which is mostly young teenagers like?? The two can co-exist you don’t need to be all elitist and fucking high and mighty and obnoxious about it. This is why I don’t involve myself in “goth” communties despite being signifcantly Less Goth than I used to be, so many of y’all are bitter lol (obviously not everyone is but the people who are are so loud and angry like, chill lol)
