Is it possible for a collector to change their role? Say, a cartographer wanting to settle down as a curator, or maybe a curator wanting to get out more becoming a charmer?

The Coordinator: Yes, it is. In fact, in some smaller Archives with less Collectors to run it, it is normal for each member to have multiple roles. They are usually referred to as Chameleons but if there is more than one in a single Archive they may just choose one of the multiple titles they have claim to as their name. I technically qualify as one, because I also do the work of a Conservationist and a Copyist, though I refuse the title because I am hoping one day that one of those jobs will be taken up by someone else.

The Charmer: Yes, you want the Collector to return to us so they can help you with those time-consuming duties. I personally hope he'll be proficient at the same things as me, because that would allow me to temporarily retire into an in-Archive position so I could have children.

The Coordinator: You are not really thinking very hard about how that will work out once you want to retake your position. What would he do then? We do not need two Charmers, but we do need some other positions to be filled.

The Curator: Well, whatever all you want is totally inconsequential because it's supposed to be what they would like to do.

I DO NOT think Netflix's live action ATLA was created or changed with any distaste for the source material or INTENTIONAL sexism

YES there were a fair few poor decisions made and YES some female characters were diluted while some male characters were sanitized (to all the detriment of all of them)

I honestly think that the people who made this show, particularly the actors, love the original series but didn't just want to make an exact replica (which I can appreciate)

unfortunately, it appears that well meaning changes were not fully thought through, or if they were, clearly certain parts of the source material were underestimated in their significance or misunderstood in their meaning

Katara's character was mild and very disappointing, but Kiawentiio Tarbell is a good actress! don't let poor directing choices fool you

if any of the actors (especially the younger or newer actors) disagreed with any character changes, they couldn't do much or anything about it (and obviously they couldn't bad-mouth the show in interviews)

also, I can sympathize with wanting to make characters more likeable, especially when people have had 20 years to complain about stuff like Katara being self-righteous, Aang being flighty, S1 Zuko being bratty, and Sokka being less complex/interesting

but by not understanding that the inclusion of unattractive character flaws is thought out, intentional, and crucial to bringing these characters to life...

you fundamentally misunderstand the characters, and subsequently (in such a character-driven story) the whole gosh darn point of the show

Not me thinking whetehr or not Mercury dies first or Fylass does due to age shenanigans, since I dunno Mercury's life span :(

mercury is around king dededes age and i like to think ages are different. so for example king dededes age for me is 360. which rounds about 36 for our age. (ik its weird and i dont have a damn reason for this) and same thing with everyone else like mercury is probably around...320 so around 32 so it just depends but i hc our ages and their ages are different- they live for wayyyy longer than humans

but since fylass is 12 mercury will probably die first sadly BUT. he would leave alot of stuff to his found family (fylass is a part of it) and make sure everyone he cares for is safe off without him
