I don't want any fights; I'm not here with the intention to start up fandom drama; From personal experience with a different fandom I won't elaborate on, that's the Last Thing I want to do

But

We need to address the Hall Monitoring for this Season

I understand from a vantage point that it's sometimes hard to understand the implications of a task and that CC's may interpret them in a slightly different way than intended. It's important to know when they succeed or fail a task, HOWEVER...!

We have to remember that they are also adults, that they're the ones making the entertainment here. We have to remember that the reason they're even doing this is because they want us viewers to have a good time and a good laugh. They're doing this for US

We gotta step back and remember that they are capable and can handle these kinds of situations themselves. It's not just the public stuff that we see uploaded that paints the whole picture here. They also have off camera interactions with each other during these sessions that don't come to light, and we, as the audience, have to TRUST them that they can keep themselves and each other accountable on these things.

They don't need 1K+ people daily on each life video to nitpick and/or clarify what they did differently than intended. They don't need 100+ people to say that they failed the task over and over, drowning the other 100+ comments talking about what their favorite part of the video was or how said video probably made their day. They Don't Need all of this Stress

They Don't Need Us Scrutinizing Every Move They Make In The Series

This series is amazing. The CC's are amazing. Please let's not stress them out with all of the constant nit-picking. They're people too. They have feelings as well. Let's try and remember the boundaries and respect them.

something about boundaries that was culturally accepted and solidified on dsmpblr is the fact that we always must ask and follow the boundaries of a cc like a guideline, and if they don’t have them, you’re free to do whatever you want, as if in real life we need a guide on how to be respectful to the people around us, when things are not like that at all. same thing happened with people whose sexuality is left ambiguous, i wholeheartedly support not asking and accepting how much they want to share with us, but i gotta say it’s a little worrying how a cc can talk about not being straight a few times, and yet, during every single occurrence, people will take the stand to say that they’re joking and we shouldn't make assumptions, almost invalidating them to a certain degree. i mean, from my latino pov and how homophobia is so prevalent and dangerous here, i don’t think a straight person who’s latino would be making jokes about that, specifically because that can put them at risk of losing sponsors/fans.

Yup. Invasiveness is bad. False familiarity can be creepy. A lack of common sense combined with a lack of respect can lead to much overstepped limits and boundaries. But parasocial relationships exist all the way from white moms at the grocery store picking up People magazine to find out who Angelina Jolie's new mystery man is to the guy who watches every movie with Keanu Reeves in it no matter what because he just really fuckin' respects him to the kid who likes red because it's the color of their favorite streamer's character's bandana and that association brings them joy. It's just a thing and I frankly don't have any patience for those who built their entire livelihood off of its existence to be nitpicking evidence of its existence on the internet at every turn

lbr made me think and I want to put this in words; I’m honestly a bit uncomfortable with how.. weird this fandom has been treating the concept of boundaries. I don’t know really how to phrase it but there’s something off about it. Boundaries are a Good Thing, and I’m really glad this new fandom culture is prioritizing CCs and realizing that they’re humans and not emotionless content machines, but the way the fandom handles boundaries are just Not It.

It almost feels like an invasion of space? Like, you’re asking people about things they probably never thought about before, and making them think about something probably a bit uncomfortable to suddenly be put on the spot about.

Boundaries aren’t like.. little pokemon cards you collect. People will set boundaries as they need them and it’s not really appropriate to bring up something uncomfortable or weird just to see someone’s thoughts on it. Like just let people set boundaries as they feel the need to, respect the boundaries they do set, and don’t ask about their boundaries on things they’ve never talked about or even see. That’s weird. It feels like there’s this... pressure to share so much about what bothers you , even if you’re not really comfortable sharing that sort of stuff.

Just use your best judgement, you don’t need an exact list of every slight tiny thing that might bother someone. You don’t need a guideline on how to respect someone. You don’t gotta obsess over knowing boundaries this much

Bad days were inevitable. There would always be a day where things didn’t go the way they were supposed to and you struggled with your usual tasks. But today wasn’t just a bad day, it was a downright terrible one.

Nothing was going your way and it took everything in you to not break down. All you wanted to do was lie down on your bed and try not to think about just how awful you were feeling.

You try not to make too much noise when you enter the house, slipping off your shoes by the door and tiptoeing around the living room.

Sam’s voice sounds muffled from your place on the couch. He’s probably streaming, having fun with chat and his friends.

Maybe you should tell him. Knock on the door, interrupt, take up space. You weren’t selfish enough to stop him from enjoying his day. To make him take care of you when you should be able to do it yourself.

Your body curls up into itself before you can stop. Turning your face into the pillow, you can only hope to keep the meltdown away.

“Baby.” You bury your face further into the pillow, too embarrassed to face him.

“Baby, look at me.” His voice is steady, gentle, hoping not to scare you away.

You hardly realize you’ve been crying until you turn to face him and find your vision blurred. When the tears do fall, his fingers sweep at the corners of your eyes, stopping them before they cascade down.

His face finally becomes clear and suddenly you want to cry all over again. You can’t find a speck of anger in his stare. Only a warm smile and a little bit of concern.

Your body dips as he sits down next to you and before you know it, he’s dragging you across the couch and onto his lap.

He cradles your face in his wide hands, fingertips skimming your skin. His hold is firm, but when you move to lie against him, he lets you.

“Do you wanna talk about what happened?” His chest vibrates against your cheek when he speaks.

You shake your head and he hums in understanding.

This time, his hands move up and down your back. His movements are light but still fill you with a sense of contentment.

“Why didn’t you tell me, baby?” Your eyes open, not that you realize they’d ever closed, too caught up in relaxing for the first time today.

You push further into the hoodie he’s wearing, mumbling out an answer.

“You gotta speak up, pretty thing.” You know if you stayed quiet, he’d let you. Sam never pushed you to talk, always one to be respectful of your boundaries.

But that was the thing about Sam. You never wanted to keep things from him anyway.

“I just didn’t wanna bother you, Sammy.” It feels childish to admit. Makes you feel small and too needy.

Once again, his hands are lifting your face to his. You right yourself on his lap, busying yourself with evening out the strings of his hoodie, instead of meeting his gaze.

“Hey.” He doesn’t continue until you look at him, “You’re my girl. Ok? That means I love all of you, not just the happy parts.”

“Sammyyyy, stop being so cute, you’re gonna make me cry again.” You whine, feeling tears well up in response to his little speech.

With a chuckle he smooths the furrow in your brow with his thumb and kisses the pout from your lips. When he pulls back he’s beaming and the stretch of your own smile is hard to ignore.

It’s hard to feel worthy of someone like Sam, but every time you doubt yourself, he’s there to remind you why you deserve all the love he has to offer.

i don’t want sapnap following me while i liveblog his stream. i don’t want any creator to see any criticism i would post of them. i don’t want any creator seeing the lore analyses i used to post. i don’t see any reason why a creator would want to follow me just to see pictures of sapnap every day. there’s a whole blog on this site dedicated to creator boundaries.

the point isn’t ‘oh my god if a cc joins i need to stop breaking their boundaries’ because most of us aren’t breaking their boundaries in the first place. or if we are we aren’t aware of it until someone tells us. the point is that this is a space that is different from twitter in every sense. the post literallt says that we are happy to have creators here because we appreciate them and we know they’d appreciate our work but i still don’t want them interacting with me. just for my own comfort.

and when i say ‘we do things differently here’ i’m talking about responses to crit and inter subblr interactions and the way we post about content creators we don’t like. different cultures doesn’t mean tumblr gets to break every boundary. it’s how we interact with EACH OTHER it’s about trying to reduce the hostility between parts of the fandom or people outside of the fandom.

are you aware there’s a section of mcyttwt under nsfwmcyttwt where the main point of the community is that they cross cc’s boundaries in their content. and that it’s actively criticised and condemned by mcytblr. are you aware that poppytwt is not welcome here. do you think that anyone who crosses creator boundaries just flees to tumblr just to do so. the vast majority of us are fucking normal people who respect the creators we talk about. if you’re seeing people from these sections of the fanbase you’ve gotta check your following a little better.

Lowkey worried about when the minor CCs who have skyrocketed to fame during quarantine finally do meetups or go to cons and see their audience numbers in real life. Like, Captainsparklez and other creators got to interact with fans as they were still starting out and grew into their popularity as time went on but,, there's no way to properly process gaining MILLIONS of fans over as little as a year and suddenly seeing a huge chunk of them irl and trying to interact or answer stuff when you've never done anything remotely like it...it just worries me a little

Honestly I get that cuz even with their irl streams and vlogs they get recognized and usually it's like a small group of people but then u gotta realize that's like less than 1% of the fandom aksjfj the conventions esp with them is gonna be so fucking insane and hopefully everyone there will be respectful with boundaries and y'know social distancing
