Welp, Democrats are taking a pretty good shellacking in New York State House races. It is pretty clear that Cuomo was a disaster for far more reasons than being a pervert, and the state-level party needs to take a good hard look at itself and do some reforms asap.

“Michele Morrow, a conservative activist who last week upset the incumbent Superintendent of Public Instruction in North Carolina’s Republican primary, expressed support in 2020 for the televised execution of former President Barack Obama and suggested killing then-President-elect Joe Biden.
In other comments on social media between 2019 and 2021 reviewed by CNN’s KFile, Morrow made disturbing suggestions about executing prominent Democrats for treason, including Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Hillary Clinton, Sen. Chuck Schumer and other prominent people such as Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates.
“I prefer a Pay Per View of him in front of the firing squad,” she wrote in a tweet from May 2020, responding to a user sharing a conspiracy theory who suggested sending Obama to prison at Guantanamo Bay. “I do not want to waste another dime on supporting his life. We could make some money back from televising his death.”
In another post in May 2020, she responded to a fake Time Magazine cover that featured art of Obama in an electric chair asking if he should be executed.
“Death to ALL traitors!!” Morrow responded.
In yet another comment, Morrow suggested in December 2020 killing Biden, who at that time was president-elect, and has said he would ask Americans to wear a mask for 100 days.
“Never. We need to follow the Constitution’s advice and KILL all TRAITORS!!! #JusticeforAmerica,” she wrote.”

NewsNation is a small startup network fleshed out by reporters formerly employed by big networks. Chris Cuomo ended up there. Ashleigh Banfield, the Canadian journalist that covered the Gulf War, who everyone found so hot that it distracted from the war reports is also there.
Their reporter is on video clearly doing nothing wrong. He was asked by police to cut his report short as the governor began his remarks, and he complied. Then a National Guard officer assaulted him from out of the blue. The police had to restrain the soldier. Then inexplicably the police took the reporter outside, threw him to the ground, cuffed him, and brought him to the station under arrest. The police officers lamer excuse clearly doesn’t match what’s on tape.
More cops out of control.

North Carolina seems to be the vortex for MAGA extremism this year.
We thought that the GOP candidate for governor Mark Robinson was off the scale.
Meet North Carolina’s GOP Governor Candidate: A Hitler-Quoting Extremist
But Michele Morrow, the GOP nominee for North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction, makes Mark Robinson sound almost mainstream.
We could make some money back from televising his death.” In another post in May 2020, she responded to a fake Time Magazine cover that featured art of Obama in an electric chair asking if he should be executed. #JusticeforAmerica,” she wrote. CNN reached out to Morrow and her campaign multiple times but did not receive a response.
But wait, there's more!
Morrow also promoted QAnon slogans and tweeted that the actor Jim Carrey was “… likely searching for adrenochrome” – a reference to a conspiracy theory shared by QAnon believers that celebrities harvest and drink the blood of children to prolong their own lives. Media Matters, a left-leaning publication, was first to report the QAnon tweets. All together, Morrow tweeted “WWG1WGA” – the slogan that stands for “where we go one, we go all” and is commonly associated with the QAnon conspiracy – more than seven times in 2020. Central to QAnon lore is the notion of the “Storm,” a belief there will be a day when thousands will purportedly be arrested, subjected to military tribunals, and face mass executions for their alleged crimes, with Donald Trump leading efforts to dismantle them alongside other QAnon “patriots.”
Morrow seems to get off on executions a lot. Her addiction to QAnon (who hasn't been around for years) is not at all out of character.
Sadly, such Republican candidates are hardly unusual these days.
To defeat such MAGA fascist extremist psychopaths it will be necessary to become more politically active in real life this year. That means volunteering, donating, and being more visible as pro-democracy Americans. And not just in North Carolina but nationwide.
My new favorite slogan this year is a classic rallying cry from civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson:
Nobody will save us from us but us.

FIRST ON FOX: A report from the Heritage Foundation shows that homicide rates have been higher in Democrat-run "blue counties" than they have been in "red counties" since 2002 – contradicting a popular talking point recited by prominent liberals like California Gov. Gavin Newsom and billionaire George Soros.
Newsom has publicly stated that "8 of the top 10 murder states are red" while liberal mega-donor Soros wrote in the Wall Street Journal last year that "violent crime in recent years has generally been increasing more quickly in jurisdictions without reform-minded prosecutors" and "murder rates have been rising fastest in some Republican states led by tough-on-crime politicians."
The problem, according to Heritage Foundation’s Kevin Dayaratna, who authored the report along with former research assistant Alexander Gage, is that studies cited by Democrats to make that argument – including a recent study from Third Way titled "The Two-Decade Red State Murder Problem" – use a "flawed" methodology because crime is a local issue and, therefore, crime analysis must be undertaken at the local level.
"It is true that red states have higher homicide rates than blue states, but the problem with this is that crime is a hyper-localized phenomenon," Dayaratna told Fox News Digital. "It doesn't make sense to talk about at the state level. It makes sense to talk about at the local level because that's where the prosecutions occur. The local level crime is handled at the local level by local police, so when you look at this question on a local basis, namely the county level, you'll see that the trend is reversed."
"If you look at the analysis on a state-by-state level, it's 34% higher in red states and blue states, according to the most recent data we analyzed, but then when you look at it as a county-by-county level, it is 60% higher in blue counties than red counties."
The study says that "drawing conclusions from state-level homicide data in such a manner is flawed, as each state consists of a combination of federal, state, county, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as prosecutors with different approaches to law enforcement often based on highly divergent political beliefs."
"Violations of state law are prosecuted largely at the county or city level and, thus, amalgamating data across such units neglects important variation in these different approaches," the study continues.
"Looking at homicide rates by county, states show skewed distributions with many counties having little or no homicides, and a handful of counties with excessively high homicide rates. Thus, state homicide rates can be heavily influenced by a few counties. When those counties have different politics from the rest of the state, it can flip the conclusion about the association between political identifications and homicides."
Dayaratna also told Fox News Digital that Third Way’s conclusion that homicide rates are higher in red states is flawed because it did not update the changes in red states and blue states, in terms of how they shifted in presidential elections over the past 20 years, when compiling the data.
ANDREW CUOMO BLASTS FAR LEFT DEMS FOR BEING SOFT ON CRIME, HARMING MINORITIES THEY CLAIM TO REPRESENT
"Third Way held ‘red’ states and ‘blue’ states constant in terms of how they voted in the 2020 presidential election. This approach is fundamentally flawed because electoral sentiment changed across the time period used for the study," the report states.
"For example, although President Biden won Arizona in 2020, the previous Democrat who won the state was Bill Clinton in 1996. Similarly, Donald Trump won Florida in both 2016 and 2020, despite the fact that Barack Obama had won the state in 2008 and 2012."
Dayaratna said that between 2002 and 2008, there was an 88% higher rate of homicide in blue counties than red counties and between 2014 and 2022 there was a 62% increase.
"It is undoubtable that this blue county murder problem has been persisting for quite some time," Dayaratna told Fox News Digital. "And it is quite disingenuous for the Third Way to just present the data as they did. We analyze it from a variety of perspectives at the Heritage Foundation. And we wanted to make sure we put out the proper story."
Last year, Dayaratna partnered with fellow Heritage scholars Cully Stimson and Zack Smith and released a study showing that of the 30 American cities with the highest murder rates, 27 have Democratic mayors, and at least 14 Soros-backed prosecutors.
A spokesperson for Third Way told Fox News Digital that "data is missing or suppressed for many suburban and rural counties, making a complete county-level analysis impossible. But to test a prevalent narrative, we removed the county containing the largest city from only the red states and we found that even after removing the murders from the biggest cities in red states, red state murder rates were still significantly higher than in blue states, which were given no similar advantage."
In response to not updating the electoral map, the spokesperson said they "chose an approach that categorized states consistently across all 21 years" and that "including electoral changes would only increase red state murder rates."
A spokesperson for Newsom's office told Fox News Digital that Newsom has cited more localized crime studies in the past and pointed to a specific interview where he did so in September.

Not only does it still break my heart that they changed the name of the Tappan Zee bridge to "Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge" (lame ass bullshit name, no cultural identity, no zazz)
But as far as I can tell, not one person has propery vandalized the road signs. All it would take is adding little tails to the "o" and "v" in "Gov", blacking out the "Cuomo" comepletly, and we could have the Gay Mario Bridge.
The Gay Mario Bridge! We could at least have that, but no one's got the guts to do what needs to be done.

So fun thing about being a libertarian and talking about politics with anyone that's not. There's a 98% chance you encounter a person, when you have more proof then you know what to do with, where they will go, "Oh well a democrat/republican agrees with that or wants it so clearly the intent is evil". And it irks me.
Politicians? They lie. And while there are times when I 100% think that most Democrats are evil scumbags, it's because they have shown it. Gavin Newsom? Partying during Covid while sending his private state military *exaggerating* to go fine and jail people over breaking his lockdowns. When he would not abide by them. Andrew Mark Cuomo sending Covid positive people into old folks homes rather than to the facilities that Trump sent to NY. Witmer going to go get her hair done while in DEEP lockdown in her state. Did we catch Republicans doing this? A few probably, but not with the degree of lockdowns in their states that the Dems had.
I hate both political parties because neither represent me. Hell, technically the libertarian party doesn't either. But in general, the only politicians I have ever HONESTLY respected are Ron and Rand Paul. Because they ARE libertarians. Ron was very against any policy that would take agency away from Americans. I can state that most Reps I don't like because they are either RINOs or they are just bad people.
But if you say, "Oh well I don't trust this inquiry because it has a D or R in front of who said it", you don't deserve to be a part of the argument. Because either you take it that neither side is lying, or that both sides are lying. You don't start from, "only one side is lying and it's the side I don't like" because then you won't care about the truth. Only things that confirm your bias. My BIAS as it were, is that Politicians in general are scumbags, Dems are Liars and Cheats, Reps are Morons and Liars, and that we'd be better off without a party system at all.
What sparked this? Well someone told me this was "False" because the first .gov source I found on this was a government page with an (R) in front of they guys name.
For short context, Dr. Faucci and his cronies tested drugs on dogs, "Supposedly" where they gave them ticks and shoved their faces in nets filled with flesh eating sand flies. Oh and cut their vocal cords. And then I showed him a few other places that reported on it, including this and he responded with, "That makes no sense why dogs. But also anyone that has an R in front of their name is probably lying".
I was thinking to myself, "DUDE! You literally just admitted that Nancy Pelosi does insider trading and that Dems lie too and YET you only care about deeper research when it comes from Rep sources or sources that might align more rep"? To which I found a LOCAL outlet just to prove my point. I hate arguing with people like that because they don't care. It's "Us vs them" to people like that. And People like that view me as an enemy because I'm on neither side. Frankly speaking? I hate it.

Could you explain what happened in NY for the dems? I didn't really get it when I was reading into it
Several things:
A confusing redistricting process that was subject to challenge and court reviews and left several new/open seats, along with a few ill-advised retirements, such as the incumbent Democratic representative who left his seat thinking he would run for governor; he did not get far and a Republican then won that seat so that worked well (not)
A MAGA candidate for governor, Lee Zeldin, who lost but turned out enough vote in the red parts of the state to help several Republican House candidates over the top;
A political Democratic machine that has become fairly stale and ossified because everyone knows that NY is a blue state when it comes to federal elections, why put in the statewide work?
A New York-based media (especially the NYT) that kept churning out pro-Republican and "Democrats in Disarray!" hatchet jobs;
The lingering mess left by previous Governor Andrew Cuomo, forced to resign for being a sex pest, who had turned a lot of the state political apparatus into his personal fiefdom and thus resulted in organizational dysfunction and distrust when he was thrown out on his ass;
Anyway, Democrats such as Gov. Kathy Hochul, Sen. Chuck Schumer, and AG Letitia James all won re-election pretty easily, but the tub-thumping the party took outside of NYC (though Pat Ryan did manage to hold his seat in NY-18 after winning it in a special election earlier this year) bears some considerable attention and reform, as Democrats can't afford to lose so many seats in a blue stronghold like NY, and especially if those seats end up determining overall House control.

North Carolina may have just gerrymandered 3 US House seats out of Democratic control. But the New York Court of Appeals (what the state supreme court is called in NY) just indirectly gave the Democratic legislature the power to draw a new Congressional map. It will probably result in Dems flipping 3 or 4 seats and possibly as many as 6. In effect, the North Carolina gerrymander has been neutralized – or even more than neutralized.
Under a new map, Democrats could flip as many as six seats currently held by Republicans, enough to seize control of the closely divided House. The New York Republicans who rode a state-level red wave to Congress in 2022 are about to watch their districts shift dramatically to the left. The big question is whether New York Democrats will squander this opportunity with the kind of mismanagement and infighting that led them to disaster last year. Tuesday’s decision was the latest episode in the years-long saga over redistricting in New York. It began when residents voted for a constitutional amendment in 2014 that gave primary responsibility over the process to an Independent Redistricting Commission, or IRC. The 2014 amendment, however, divided the IRC equally between Democrats and Republicans, and the commission deadlocked on a plan after the 2020 census. So the legislature stepped in with its own congressional map—which the New York Court of Appeals struck down as an unlawful partisan gerrymander by a 4–3 vote in 2022. (The Court of Appeals is the state’s top court.) The conservative-leaning majority, appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and led by Chief Judge Janet DiFiore, directed an outside mapmaker to redraw the plans. The mapmaker’s submission was heavily influenced by analyses from experts who specialized in GOP-friendly redistricting. It gave Republicans an edge while pushing two top Democrats into the same district, forcing them to compete against each other. As a result, Republicans seized five or six additional seats (though one was vacated when the House expelled indicted Rep. George Santos).
So we probably have that 2022 NY map to thank for George Santos's brief House career. His district, NY-03, is currently a tossup. But with a redraw of the map, much of that area would probably find itself in bluer territory.
In the peculiar world of NY politics, nothing is simple.
First crack at a new map will go to the IRC (Independent Redistricting Commission). But it will deadlock because it is evenly split along party lines. Then the task goes to the legislature with Dem majorities in both chambers. Dems will get out their mapping software and have a go at it. Republicans will inevitably appeal the new Democratic map and the case will end up back at the New York Court of Appeals which just handed down this decision on Tuesday.
All this has to be done before filing deadlines for the 2024 US House primaries. However, no date has been set for those primaries in NY. The primaries can be held as late as early September. Stay tuned!

Good memories and Good day for weed smokers , Read his Twitter post on that day we made history together thank you so much Governor Andrew Cuomo and Former Mayor Bill De Blasio for working with me and help passing my proposal of my laws into laws that is well documented into history now
Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday morning signed a bill passed by the legislature the night before to legalize recreational marijuana in New York state. That makes New York the 15th state, along with the District of Columbia, to have legalized the drug for recreational use. Legalization of the plant is effective immediately but legal recreational sales are not expected to begin for one or two years.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday morning signed legislation passed by state lawmakers the night before to legalize recreational marijuana in New York state.
The state Senate voted Tuesday evening 40-23 to pass the legislation. Later that night, the state Assembly voted 100-49 in favor of the bill.
That makes the Empire State the 15th state, along with the District of Columbia, to have legalized cannabis for recreational use.
"This is a historic day. I thank the Leader and Speaker and the tireless advocacy of so many," Cuomo wrote on Twitter after signing the legislation.
He elaborated in a statement Tuesday night after passage of the bill. "For too long the prohibition of cannabis disproportionately targeted communities of color with harsh prison sentences and after years of hard work, this landmark legislation provides justice for long-marginalized communities, embraces a new industry that will grow the economy, and establishes substantial safety guards for the public."
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has said he supports the legislation on the basis of racial equity. "I think this bill goes a long way. I think there's more to do after, but it goes a long way," de Blasio said, according to WDTV ABC 11.
Black and Latino New Yorkers combined made up 94% of marijuana-related arrests by the New York Police Department in 2020, even though the city's statistics show that the proportion of white New Yorkers using marijuana is considerably higher than that of either Latino or Black residents. According to a New York City health department survey, 24% of white residents reported using marijuana, compared with 14% of Black residents and 12% of Latino residents, over the two-year period of 2015-2016, the most recent available data.
The decision to legalize weed comes after neighboring state New Jersey recently legalized the plant. Lawmakers' goal was to pass the bill as part of the state budget before the April 1 deadline.
The bill was sponsored by Sen. Liz Krueger and Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes. Senators debated for three hours, with Republicans alleging that the bill is dangerous and does not represent the wishes of all New Yorkers.
"We took endless meetings with anyone who asked us," Krueger said in response during the proceedings. "In truthfulness I'm not sure I have ever met with as diverse a group of people as I did over the seven years that my chief of staff and I were working on this bill."
Legalization is expected to eventually rake in billions of dollars in revenue for the state and for New York City in particular, with a hefty 13% tax, which includes a 9% state tax and a 4% local tax. The measure also includes a potency tax of as much as 3 cents per milligram of THC, the natural psychoactive component of cannabis that delivers the plant's high.
An estimate from Cuomo's office predicts annual tax revenues from legal weed sales could bring in $350 million a year and 60,000 jobs to the state when the industry is fully established.
The measure allows for possession of up to 3 ounces of cannabis and 24 grams of cannabis concentrate and allows for the growth of up to six plants at home.
The legislation also creates equity programs to provide loans and grants to people including small farmers who have been disproportionately affected by the war on drugs.
"My goal in carrying this legislation has always been to end the racially disparate enforcement of marijuana prohibition that has taken such a toll on communities of color across our state, and to use the economic windfall of legalization to help heal and repair those same communities," Krueger said in a press release.
"I saw such injustice going on, and for young people whose lives were being destroyed for doing something I did when I was a kid," Krueger said, while recording her vote in favor of the measure. "Nobody put a gun to my head and nobody tried to put me in jail, because I was this nice white girl."
Some officials are even calling for the bill to fund universal basic income and homeownership programs for communities most heavily affected by the drug war.
"With the legalization of marijuana on the horizon, we have the ability to enact legislation locally to make the concept of reparations through a UBI and home ownership a reality for Rochester and its families," said Rochester, New York, Mayor Lovely Warren, according to Rochesterfirst.com.
The bill will expunge the criminal records of tens of thousands of people, has a goal of 40% revenue reinvestment into communities of color, and will grant 50% of adult-use licenses to social equity applicants and small businesses.
The bill will also establish "a well-regulated industry to ensure consumers know exactly what they are getting when they purchase cannabis."
The measure will create an Office of Cannabis Management, which will be an independent agency operating with the New York State Liquor Authority. The agency will be in charge of regulating the recreational cannabis market and the existing medical cannabis programs. The agency will also be overseen by a Cannabis Control Board composed of five members — three appointed by the governor and one each appointed by the state Senate and state Assembly.
Police groups and the New York Parent-Teacher Association have openly expressed concern around the bill.
"Absolute travesty. All research submitted shows it will be harmful to children, makes the roads less safe," New York State PTA Executive Director Kyle Belokopitsky said, ABC 7 New York reported. "And I have absolutely no idea what the legislature is thinking in thinking they want to advance this right now."
New York officials are launching an education and prevention campaign to reduce the risk of cannabis use among school-age children, and schools will be eligible for drug prevention and awareness programs. The state will also launch a study that examines cannabis's effect on driving.
The bill will allow for localities to pass laws banning cannabis dispensaries and consumption licenses, with a deadline of nine months after legalization.
Legalization of the plant is effective immediately but legal recreational sales are not expected to begin for one or two years.
Correction: This story has been updated to reflect that the measure allows for possession of up to 3 ounces of cannabis and 24 grams of cannabis concentrate.

The Washington Post deleted a tweet promoting one of its stories on Wednesday that suggested Attorney General Merrick Garland “politicized” the Department of Justice by authorizing an FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
“Garland vowed to depoliticize Justice. Then the FBI searched Mar-a-Lago,” read the headline of a story written by Justice Department reporter Perry Stein.
The headline in the tweet sparked outrage on Twitter, which apparently prompted the Jeff Bezos-owned broadsheet to remove the tweet and re-post it using a different headline.
Republicans accused the Biden administration of using the Justice Department as a tool to persecute political opponents.
Even some Democrats expressed unease with the search.
Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo tweeted: “DOJ must immediately explain the reason for its raid & it must be more than a search for inconsequential archives or it will be viewed as a political tactic and undermine any future credible investigation & legitimacy of January 6 investigations.”
Trump is expected to announce whether he’ll seek another run for White House. Polls show him leading the field of GOP hopefuls.
Garland has refused to comment if he authorized the FBI’s search.
