The signing of the MoU in Jacksonville holds special significance as it marks the first agreement with a specific focus on the space sector. Florida, home to the NASA Kennedy Space Center, offers unparalleled capabilities in launch infrastructure, manufacturing, and satellite development. This presents significant opportunities for the UK's thriving space industry, valued at over £17.5 billion, and employing nearly 50,000 individuals.   Acknowledging Florida's Space Prowess UKspace Chair John Hanley lauds the MoU, emphasizing the global nature of the space business. As the first agreement concentrated on space, it opened new avenues for collaboration between the UK and Florida's space industries. The goal is to deepen relationships, foster collaboration, and drive mutually beneficial trade and investment on both sides of the Atlantic.

This initiative aims to establish a state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance facility and engineering hub in North Carolina, generating employment opportunities for 240 locals. With agreements already in place with seven states, including Indiana, North Carolina, and Washington, the cumulative GDP reaches £3.3tn, just shy of Germany's GDP. White House Press Secretary Responds to Florida Gun Law

  It is shameful that so soon after another tragic school shooting, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law a permitless concealed carry bill behind closed doors, which eliminates the need to get a license to carry a concealed weapon. This is the opposite of commonsense gun safety.  The people of Florida — who have paid a steep price for state and Congressional inaction on guns from Parkland to Pulse Nightclub to Pine Hills — deserve better. President Biden has been clear: too many lives are being ripped apart by gun violence.  The President continues to call on Congress to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines, require safe storage of firearms, eliminate gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability, and require background checks for all gun sales, and for state officials to take action at the state level.   Sources: THX News & The White House.
