#his fantasy ratemyprof is all 5stars and 1stars no in between. the fives majorly outweigh the ones but the ones are very strongly worded #about how he's really stringent on due dates (incorrect he just knows bullshit when he sees it) and extremely humorless (sometimes he #makes jokes that none of the students get and he thinks that's really funny so he keeps doing it) and grades harshly (absolutely) and goes #On and On about ethics (ABSOLUTELY) but the high ratings are split between 'super lame but a really good teacher' and 'he's NOT lame we #asked him to turn into a dragon and he DID' and 'my cousins gf swears she saw him and some monk kicking the shit out of someone in an #alleyway and idk why but i believe her. also when he teaches utility cantrips we get extra credit for pulling pranks on him with them. 5/5' #the difference is entry vs advanced classes. grad students are like 'yeah he goes to raves in nicodranas and won't take us with him'

honestly though, what I've learned this quarter is thank fuck I did not go to grad school at 23. I am astoundingly on top of my shit. there is absolutely no way I would've been managing this well at 23. under no fucking circumstances.

#the real reason people hate grad school cuz most people do it at 23 and being 23 is the worst #this is absolutely a joke grad school can and does suck for other reasons. i am enjoying it but I acknowledge this is not the norm. #but for real if you're like 'should i take a couple years in between or should i go straight to grad school' this is your sign. #HOWEVER do not fucking lose track of your rec letter professors. that's really the trick. #you have to learn to be a person AND stay in touch with at least one but preferably 2-3 professors. #also disclaimer i cannot comment on phds. this is about masters programs phds are a different beast.

The sexiest thing an english major can be is inconsistent. Did I write an entire essay about the commodification of women in the Henry V proposal scene? Yes and I got an A.
