When is it okay to give up on something or someone?

That’s a trick question. There isn’t a definite answer for a question like this. Every circumstance is different for every person and every situation, therefore it would be unfair to answer such a deep and intrinsic question with one answer.

So then…what do we do? How would we know when we can give up?

The answer is, any time. You can give up at any time you like! I know this isn’t what one normally hears. Some people may even frown upon such an answer. Modern society values resilience and stubbornness so it’s difficult to accept such an answer as ‘give up anytime’ since it is a contradiction to what we’ve been taught. Which is to never give up.

But it is okay. It is okay to give up on something or even someone. Sometimes there is nothing more to give. Other times, it is not worth it. There may be times that you may be pursuing a career, a job, or a person and realize that this isn’t what you want anymore. You may think it’s honorable to keep going despite your lack of passion for it, or you may think that you can’t give up no matter what. But you’re just hurting yourself.

And I'm not saying give up when it’s hard. I'm saying, give up when it’s something you truly do not want anymore. Think of your end goal, think of the struggle, the sacrifices it took for you to get here and then think of the rest of the work you still have to put in to get to your goal. And ask yourself, is it worth it? If yes, keep going! If not, it might be time to reevaluate your decisions and your life.

As I’ve said before, every person and situation is different. This is just a general thing. There may be other circumstances that aren’t so easy. But I truly believe you can persevere and sometimes that may be giving up.

Giving up doesn’t mean giving up on everything and never trying again, it means giving up the things that you no longer want and try something else. Who knows, giving up could lead you to better and brighter things.

You can give up, but I hope you do not give up on yourself <3

Hi. My friend and I saw Sam and a brunette in Brooklyn. They were shopping. We didn't realize it at first because when we came to meet them they went into a shop. We saw a brunette, quite tall and smiling. Recently we noticed that Paul Donnelly, Sam's friend, had stopped following Monika when it was over and now he has followed her again🤔 So we think it was her with Sam. Unfortunately we didn't have time to take any photos as we were caught off guard. You don't have to post if you want to have proof but I think your sources or fans will end up with photos of them. I think the paparazzi photos hurt them the first time around and now they are being careful.

Anon, while I appreciate you sending me this, I question its validity for a few reasons.

1. Sam was in New York days ago, why did you wait until now to send this to me?

2. You say you saw Sam with a tall brunette. You mention Monika Clarke, which means you know what she looks like. Wouldn't you be able to confirm if it was actually her with Sam? And not just "a brunette?" She's pretty distinctive looking.

For me tho the biggest hammer came down from Alycia herself when she said she'd been willing to work on both shows but "it just didn't work out that way" AND this Q&A interview question at 29:43 minute mark. She auditioned for ftwd after filming season 2, meaning Jason hadn't signed her on and had no intention of signing her on, in fact iirc (I could be misremembering) by the timeline I think she may have already knew she was getting killed on the loo or at least knew she wasn't gonna be a regular and thus was why she went looking for another show. Also the fact that Fear and the loo filmed during different times of the year so there wasn't really a big scheduling conflict either. So. I mean it's just logical 2+2 stuff when you look at it.

As for Isaiah, I mean. Consider the source. I'm not saying he doesn't know actual bts tea and there's probably a fuckton because that whole cast and production was A Mess, but I still take a MAGA bro's word with a grain of salt especially since he never backed it up.

To answer your question, no I never wrote a review. I probably should have, but events happened when I worked there that if I shared them would easily identify me. And I don’t want to loose my credits.

The series I worked on has not aired yet and even though I only worked for a short time, it would be nice to have my name on the work I did.

I might speak up about my experiences at Spindlehorse someday but I don’t really want to risk a lawsuit. And the fan base is scary.

I probably won’t send anymore messages, because it’s almost been a year since they let me go; and I just need to let it go. But I know more people will get sucked into this studio. The only advice I can give to anyone in the industry is to leave jobs that don’t treat you like a person. It’s not worth it to stay. It won’t help you get other jobs. It will just waste your time and burn a hole in your resume.

In conclusion, all you guys really need to know is that the pay is shit, management is unorganized and doesn’t answer messages, and they spend as little energy on employees needs as possible. Don’t work for these people.

ty for telling me about your experience. i'd def say to anyone out there interested in working for spindlehorse to keep the warnings in mind. if you want to try you're welcome to, just make sure you know what your rights are / how to protect yourself, be prepared you might have to work harder than you think, and make sure you know how to stand up for yourself (kindly and professionally) in the face of disorganized productions. i do have to admit i'm taking your testimony with a grain of salt since on anon anyone can claim this sort of thing, just like the "insiders" on 4chan and Reddit who spoke about hazbin & A24, who i do believe but also with the grain of salt that i can't treat their testimonies as fact until more info comes out. however those testimonies do line up with my personal suspicions, which could be confirmation bias, or they might have bits of truth while not being 100% true, or they might be complete speculation / straight-up false. time may tell. similarly, until further notice i believe you, with the caution i can't treat this as 100% fact, but i believe your claim has merit. frankly whether you did work for them or not i strongly believe the claims of shit pay, disorganized management, and lack of communication from multiple testimonies even with the claim that some of the reviews in the document have been faked. i believe it not just bc of the testimonies who have their names attached; KenDraws, Erin Frost, Salem (squiderdoodle), but bc of how i've seen viv & co act in general, and the various leaks of "guides" to the characters which imo seem to lack cohesiveness and key info at times. i could be wrong, but i get the impression the more cohesive guides (and designs) are more often due to the work of individual hired crew member(s), rather than the higher-ups themselves. ty again for your ask.

From what I remember, the MCP itself seems to regard Users and human beings as separate categories. Does this mean that only people who write code are considered to be gods by programs? Further, does this also mean only coders have "User Powers"?

I don’t think so? As he talks broadly “I can run things a million times better” etc, he says ‘man’ as in mankind but I don’t think he separates the too.

I don’t think so here either, in the post I mentioned how Crom (and ram too likely) has a completely regular person as his User. I doubt Mr.Henderson the branch manager has any idea of coding. I think “User” just refers to anyone who… well… uses a computer and they’d come into contact with- which is why I talked about the “Maker” specification and why it would overlap when it comes to Tron,Yori, Sark and the MCP.

Honestly I don’t think programs would even know what a human is/that users are human because it’s not like they’d have contact or knowledge of anyone who doesn’t use a computer.

However, programmers might have the potential to be the only ones with “User power” I saw a post awhile back saying how Flynn’s likely to have survived for so long/was able to come back because he knew so much about computers and I’m inclined to believe that. Especially in the 80s when it was a very niche hobby and job.

I agree. but even from an anthropological and historical basis, it’s just such risky business to go about assigning contemporary identities (trans as identity has undergone many reinterpretations and developments anyway), especially ones based primarily in the intangible realm of thoughts, feelings, self-perception etc to historical figures like this with basically no alternatives considered, no deeper inquiry into the historical circumstances offered, etc. this is not how historians behave, not how sociologists and anthropologists behave, it’s not even how good biographers should behave ! it’s quite literally just ‘I want this to be true and will take it to be if I see x thing’ that’s confirmation bias plain and simple. all this is before we even get to the obvious misogyny and potential homophobia involved

Toronto is only a 90 minute or so flight from NYC, so it's possible she went back home for a couple of days.
