#kr revice lb #kr lb #umbrella.thoughts #umbrella.posts #the people that get it get it #i'm a mess rn but i really liked this one #i really liked all the relationships and every character was entertaining in their own way #i think there was a little bit of fumbling in some places but it didn't ruin the show for me and it's not something i haven't seen in #kr before... #i'm really glad they didn't focus too much on past riders which i've seen as a big complaint as the 50th anniversary of kr #but let's be real zi-o was just a few years ago and bc of the break from kr on tv before kuuga it really doesn't feel grand #like it's a big number but kr was not an active franchise on tv 100% of that time... #either way i prefer just little references and things bc i think people should be able to enjoy a series w/o knowing other riders #(zi-o is more enjoyable the more riders you know) #i also think riders should be able to stand apart from each other #there were some beautiful suits and fight scenes that were really fun to watch #sure it was goofy and fun but i think that's a good thing bc i love goofiness and fun :)

It has been months since I finished watching Kamen Rider Zi-O, and the Grand Zi-O transformation jingle is still in my brain, bouncing around the walls of it like the DVD logo. It has been stuck there so long, I have memorized the order of all 20 Heisei era Riders (Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, Decade, W, OOO, Fourze, Wizard, Gaim, Drive, Ghost, Ex-Aid, Build, Zi-O.) just by hearing the song in my head on loop.

Lets fucking argue about what even counts as a final form, except you must understand that I'm right no matter what.

This might sound strange but I’m interested to see what exactly Takahashi does with Geats’ V-Cin. Because interestingly, and uniquely, he seems to use these things as a chance to do-over elements that went out of his control; where most writers use them as completely different spin-off projects or to expand upon the worldbuilding of an ending.

Like, Ex-Aid: Kuroto Dan suddenly blew up MASSIVELY in popularity to the point that he could no longer really stay a villain in the main series and its connected marketing; so Takahashi uses the V-Cin to once again establish him as a villain with less direct comedy and do a dramatic story with him -- and also ended it with both Kuroto and Kiriya dying; characters who were originally supposed to stay dead.

With Zero-One, things he done like fleshing out Jin’s backstory, focusing on Humagear freedom in a way that contrasts intensely with how the show ends and doing a similar thing as V-Cin Kuroto with ZAIA (where he has the villain be a Much More Evil Villain That Dies which the main series wouldn’t let him do once its version was woobified) speaks to me of original plans that he just wasn’t able to do.

You compare this to other V-Cins like how throwaway stories like Build New World or W Returns are or Zi-O and Revice’s just being fun little adventures and it all feels so, SO strongly like “I really didn’t get to do what the hell I wanted, Toei took my toys away, THIS is the real shit”.

Which makes me really curious about Geats’ because - and I am admittedly saying this with about 10 episodes left - I literally can’t think of anything that feels like a swerve from his original plans or that he didn’t want to do. Punkjack’s revival and a couple of the supporters existing feel like his hand was forced, but those are pretty throwaway rather than spanners in the grand plan for his story and the tone he’s trying to set. You could put this down to a variety of factors - the toyline integration/synergy is MUCH stronger in this show than before; Takahashi has at this point been 2 for 2 on extremely successful Kamen Rider shows so they probably trust him to do his thing - but either way it doesn’t seem like there’s anything he’d consider lost potential to make up for in the V-Cin. So what da hell is he gonna do there

This has major Outsiders ep.3 spoilers, but Zein (Who is actually Yuto, Den-O's secondary) can use finishers of the Riders' final forms, but they can only be used once as the cards used are shredded once put in the Driver. The two we see used are Hyper Muteki and Xross Saber. How would the Ex-Aid and Saber cast react to Yuto using Hyper Critical Sparkling and using the Haouken and summoning the Seiken?

Well, power copying isn't exactly a new thing for the Riders, even when it comes to final forms (Sougo technically can do that by using Grand Zi-O, for example). I think they'll be a bit relieved it's a one-time use kind of deal, but they would also be a bit wary of why Yuuto has them in the first place- of course, him being Zein and not Zeronos would be raising alarm bells on its own.

been trying to come up with driver sounds for chaleon’s forms and i gotta ask: on a scale from arcle (no speech; simple standby loops and short sound effects only for form changes/transformation) to grand zi-o ridewatch/seiken swordriver (complex standby loops with entire paragraph-long voice clips for almost every action), how lengthy do you prefer your belt noises?

personally, i’m a fan of the shorter ones, bordering on none at all, like kuuga or w, but if it’s just absurdly long like grand zi-o, it loops back around for me from obnoxious to stupidly funny. i’d love to hear what other people think, though.

so what's your favorite Kamen Rider suit

At least three of my faves at the top of my head. Riders have forms based off their growths. Final forms have the most insane and crazy as hell jingles. And I was introduced to kamen rider thanks to a final form. So I’ll start with top three and maybe an honorable mention.

GRAND ZI-O

Dude litterally has the 20 hesei riders on his ARMOR. AND HE USES THEIR POWERS AND MAKES THEM APPEAR IN FIGHTS ASWELL! You go against this guy get rider to fight 20 riders at once with varying weapons and forms. XD

ZERO TWO

This was the first final form I was introduced to by watching a full series from start to finish during a whole year. (Even when Covid hit) Now this form is nuts. It’s simple but packs a punch. It said that it’s not only so fast it can predict OVER a prediction outcome as fast as 0.2 seconds. Basically the more it knows about you. The faster it can read you. Think like a sans fight but without having to die so many times and actually having speed to know what will come next to react to. Also that two gives off a glow that looks like a scarf glowing, homage to the first rider who wore a scarf.

Xross Saber

Sword looks familiar huh. Yep I based Sword Frisk look after that sword. Haouken Xross saber. Aka the sword of creation that uses the power of 10 Seiken swords. It not only lets you choose which swords to use but you could even mix and match how you fight however you want with it. Back to the form itself sure it’s a repair but the thing is this form not only has 2 different versions of this final form it has 3. 3 different kinds of final form with the help of that sword. Friggen nuts XD story wasn’t that good but the fights and the songs were damn good.

Hyper Muteki ex-aid.

Ok all I will say is…. This series was about doctors and gamers… and came out a year AFTER undertale debuted…. And has a movie that is titled ex-aid TRUE ENDING….. NEED I SAY MORE!? XD

(Also yes he got hair they blades and they look rad)

Y’all still think I’m nuts about kamen rider being put in with undertale? XD

I have more fave forms but these are by far my top faves.
