Bad Batch Season 3 Episode Title Predictions

Okay, so I've poked at the trailer enough that I think I can do a series of predictions that is likely to topple like a house of cards immediately but hey what else is this month of waiting for? Here is my very rough outline of what I'd love to see in season 3 based on nothing but the trailer and Vibes.

Episodes 1-3, "Confined" "Paths Unknown" & "Shadows of Tantiss"

These three seem pretty obvious, we'll likely catch up with Omega and Crosshair first in Confined, which is likely where we'll see these clips from the trailer:

As well as probably the (SAD AS HELL) discussion between Omega and Crosshair shown in the Celebrations trailer. Mix their scenes in with catching up on Hunter, Wrecker, & Echo - I'm actually really attached to the idea that Echo is searching for Tech, having not given up on him. This also parallels to Omega talking to Crosshair, about not giving up - I think that's going to be a theme this season. Can't run away, can't give up. But if Echo is searching for Tech then it might just be Hunter and Wrecker right now, likely giving us a few of their action shots together.

I do think that Omega and Crosshair's escape attempt is going to be relatively early in the season - either at the end of Paths Unknown or the very beginning of Shadows of Tantiss. I went into it more in this post and paired up a few shots of Tantiss' defense systems as well as the crashed ship with Omega and Crosshair. From the look of it, they likely don't make it off planet due to the damage and crash land and have to try to escape and, in the process, are split up and lose each other. Possibly they are able to contact the batch, who are on the way to try and get them when things go wrong.

My guess is that by the end of this three parter we'll have Crosshair reunited with the batch, or about to be, Omega on her own trying to evade Hemlock and his men, and somewhere along the line our reveal that Tech is alive because at this point I can't see them not aiming at a comeback with how hard they're trying to keep his 'death' on all our minds.

Episode 4 - "A Different Approach"

If Crosshair didn't meet up with the batch by the end of the previous three, then probably he does it here, I just get the sense that he's been gone for so long that we need to get him zipped up with the others early in the season, especially since we'll have several reunions to get to by the end of the series.

With Omega still separated but hopefully out of Tantiss at this point, they have to adjust how they plan to find her. She's now a moving target, because she's on the run still and likely unable to contact them. Echo will meet back up with them here, I think, maybe with info on wherever Tech is (my prediction: still on Eriadu in some fashion, either held with the good old pirates & smugglers or possibly by Tarkin himself, but I'm hoping the pirates & smugglers) and Rex will likely come too. I do think that they have their exchange about losing brothers here but rather than being about Tech, as the trailer implied, it's about Nemec or Fireball (or both) who possibly died getting the information. I just feel like those two are not long for this world, unfortunately.

We'll also follow Omega here, now completely alone for the first time. Previously she always had the batch, then she at the very least had Crosshair. Now she has neither and she has to try and figure out what to do. The title does dual work here, both the batch and Omega have to find a different approach in order to try and reunite.

Episode 5 - "The Return"

I feel like this is going to be a mostly Omega centered episode. Where is she returning to is the question, I still think that this refers to a place rather than a person returning. Pet theory - Cid put out several bounties on her to try and get her tracked down and rescued and she gets a blast from the past when she's grabbed by Bane a second time and taken to Ord Mantell. She of course is Not trusting Grandma Crimes anymore, but Cid is trying to redeem herself and fix what she broke.

While this is going on, the parallel return is the batch getting to Eriadu in order to set up the two parter.

Episode 6 & 7 - "Infiltration" & "Extraction

With the batch set up, they're ready to go get Tech from wherever he's been stuck! These two are likely more action oriented, with a little bit of Difficulty between Crosshair and the others after so long apart, but they find their footing well enough and begin to work together in order to get Tech out. They're 5/6ths of the way to a full family, they just have one more to get a hold of!

Episode 8 - "Bad Territory"

Getting fully into Pet Theories here but I think that this shot from the trailer

is Batuu - going mostly from the distinctive looking spires here. Another possible Omega focused episode, Cid is taking her to Batuu to cash in a favor. Not one owed to her - one owed to Omega, by Roland Durand. (LISTEN HERE'S HOW INFESTED BEING RELEVANT CAN STILL WIN-)

Anyway the focus here is on Roland trying to link her up with the batch. This might be a good place for Fennec to make her reappearance too, working from the Batch's end.

Episode 9 - "The Harbinger"

I'll be real I have no idea, my ideas started getting thin right about here, but I will say the title sounds like a great place for Ventress and the Teth monastery to make their appearance (I'm assuming they'll be together) but how they would actually play into the plot if they appeared here is unclear. I do think that we'll finally get everyone together though or at least be on our way to it, in order to bring us to our next two parter.

Episode 10 & 11 - "Identity Crisis" & "Point of No Return

The team is back together and all is not well, because everyone is still suffering a severe case of the Issues. No one can agree on what to do, where to go, with the identity crisis being the batch unsure of how to move forward together. Omega of course gets immediately stressed out by it all because it seems like she finally got her family back together only for it to immediately start falling apart. Wrecker is probably right there with her. Tech & Phee have their moment together, Echo still thinks they need to fight and I think that Crosshair is going to tend towards that too. Hunter at least absolutely wants to retire to Pabu right now immediately, but as the show has been trying to demonstrate, avoiding things won't be an option because-

Point of No Return is the dreaded invasion of Pabu. The Empire followed them here in order to retrieve Omega, and they barely escape, evacuating as many of Pabu's residents as possible. Shep doesn't make it out and is imprisoned.

Episode 12 - "Juggernaut"

This is where like a full quarter of the trailer comes from because they can show us several exterior tank shots without showing who's in the damn tank. I think the point of this one will be to get Shep back, since it does look like him that Wrecker is carrying. We know that Crosshair, Hunter, and Wrecker at a minimum will go in, but I think likely Omega and Echo are there (likely together thus being why we don't see much of Echo in the trailer) and Tech might be with Phee.

Episodes 13-15 - "Into the Breach" "Flash Strike" "The Calvary Has Arrived"

Grouping these three together because I have no idea what happens here except that we're likely going to be mounting an attack to take down Hemlock and, hopefully, free all of the clones that he's been experimenting on. The time for hiding is over, they have to take a stand against the Empire. Not because they're soldiers, but because they're a family, and the other clones are still their brothers.

For the first time, we don't leave our own behind can get followed and they're going in.

The Calvary Has Arrived is not a title I can see going dark to be quite honest, it's more of a full circle moment, it's the Batch becoming who they're meant to be, a family that fights for each other and for the other clones, I will cling to the idea of a happy ending (hopefully one that sets up a continuation that might focus more on Rex and his clone rebellion) until it's ripped from my cold dead hands thank you very much. I think that after the family has spent two seasons absolutely torn apart, becoming increasingly fractured, the best ending is one that has them finally united, all six of them, for the first time.

Like Omega said. They're more than soldiers. They're a family.

Bruce traveled the world and experienced so many different cultures as a young man. We saw this in several comics and Batman Begins, etc…

I want a fic where Bruce takes all 17 of his kids to his favorite little street food cart in Vietnam. Or the place in Namibia where he worked as a smuggler and found the tiniest little Grandma who let him sleep on her couch and taught him the local language. Or the small mountainside cafe in the Balkans where he traded a week’s hard labor for food and a place to stay.

I want him to bring all 17 of his children and have them live and learn like he did so the money never goes to their heads.

Sent: "Craig of the Creek may be my favorite show ever. Every episode is an absolute joy to watch and the jokes always seem to be playing towards three audiences; the kids, the adults, and the nerds. When the show isn't being one of the best comedies and slice of life shows ever, the overarching plot is rich and engrossing. If I tell you that this show involves toppling a monarchy via civil war, would you believe me? (I'm not even stretching the truth, these kids literally go to war)

Also!! The representation and diversity in this show is incredible. There are so many different characters from so many different cultures, and they're always very explicit about it. There are (if I'm counting correctly) at least fourteen openly, explicitly queer characters (including one of the main trio!) There is a deaf character who uses both ASL and BASL!

Many episodes are based off of the experiences and childhood memories of the crew members (Scout Guest and Grandma Smugglers come to mind first, iykyk), and you can tell. The world and characters are so full of detail and love. <3"

Backstory:

Ena grew up in the fishing village on one of the smaller islands of the Conomi Islands. He was raised soley by his grandmother, as his mother had passed during childbirth and his father had walked out once he found out his girlfriend was pregnant.

Once Ena was born, his grandmother needed to find a way to provide for the two of them so she picked up her old hustle of smuggling, everything from cheap rum to the finest fabrics. And as Ena got older she would start teaching him everything she knew about smuggling.

By age 14, Ena had already learnt to sail a tiny dory, forge documents and how to avoid drawing attention from the marines, etc… And he would eventually start joining his grandmother on her less risky smuggling trips.

2 years later, Arlong and his pirates, who’d taken control over their island, found out about their secret smuggling and were upset that they hadn’t gotten more money out of them. Ena’s grandmother always being one step ahead knew that they had found out and would be coming after them.

So when the night came she told Ena to go out to the boat and loosen the mooring and prepare to set sail for another smuggling trip. Ena was a bit confused as it was a bit early to leave but did as told and ran out on the dock and climbed in to the boat, making sure everything was ready to leave.

As he prepared everything he found something tied to the mast, a letter where it said ”From Grandma to Ena”. Ena opened it slightly confused and read:

”My dearest Ena, It’s time for you to set off on your own. Arlow has found out about the smuggling and he will be coming for us. That’s why i sent you out early, so you have a chance to escape, I will distract him here as long as possible but you need to sail away somewhere far away from the Conomi Islands.” Ena read feeling his heart drop like an anchor.

He continued reading: ”I’ve packed your clothes and some food on the boat. Inside a wooden chest i also packed my old flintlock pistol and some bullets to use if you’re ever in danger. Make sure to take care Ena. I adore you more than anything in this world. Goodbye my little love - Grandma” Ena finished as tears started running down his fave.

He then scrambled to the wooden chest containing the pistol, he opened the chest and pulled it out and turned to back to the dock. He wasn’t leaving his grandmother to go down without a fight.

He climbed on the dock and started running back towards the house but suddenly an explosion went off setting his childhood home in flames. Ena tripped from the sudden shock of it, scratching up his knee.

Ena layed on the ground crying as he watched everything he’d known go up in smoke before his very eyes. He then knew he had to fulfill his grandmother’s last wish. He got up on his feet once more and limped back to the boat and climbed in.

He loosened one last rope and the boat started slowly drifting away from the dock. Ena then raised the sail, managing to catch the wind and the boat started gliding smoothly over the calm sea. He looked back one last time and uttered a small tearful ”Goodbye, Grandma”.

Personality:

Ena is of questionable morals as a result of his upbringing by his Grandma, so while he’s polite and well mannered, he is not above illegal practices such as smuggling. It’s almost like there is two sides to him, one that is a total ”Grandma’s boy” and one that is a ”sneaky smuggler”.

Growing up Ena was always more on the courteus and good-natured side, always willing to help out those who needed it. He like any child was also a bit naive to the harsh realities of life.

When he started helping his grandmother in the smuggling business, he grew more aware of how corrupt and greedy people could truly be. This made Ena try toughen up a bit to seem more capable as a smuggler. He also became more sneaky and cunning after helping make the plans for the smuggling trips getting a small thrill out of being undectected by the Marines.

After his grandmother died, Ena’s personality soured loosing his childlike gentleness and his politeness, exchanging it for a cold and sarcastic demeanour. He grew more street smart, self-reliant and closed off, as a result of being on his own.

Ena would however keep a soft spot for those who showed him and others kindness and would remain loyal to them. He would grow very protective over the people he cared about as he could not bare the thought of losing someone he cared for again.

Skillset:

Seamanship: Ena has good boating experinence from years of smuggling trips and gets more experienced sailing bigger ships along with the Straw Hat Pirates.

Stealth: He has a innate skill for stealth being able to move around quickly but remain quiet and undetected, which has been useful when avoiding marines and pirates.

Self Defense: Not the strongest soldier but Ena has managed to pick up some self defense tactics along his travels. Including but not limited to ”hitting people over the head with his pistol”.

OKAY so, first of all, this would be set during empire times. Chip is still a pirate ofc (or a smuggler, more likely i think but idk). Jay would of course be coming from an imperial family (Empire = Navy). Gillion would be a jedi/force sensitive, and his backstory is the one you have to sort of smooth out the most to make it fit.

My idea is that he was a Padawan when order 66 happened (Finn would be his master rather than biological grandfather i think), he escapes and goes back to his home planet to hide, which is where The Elders (tm) would hear that he was one of the last living jedi and basically give him his "chosen one" status because of that. But then, he accidentally does something to reveal his position to the Empire and endanger his homeworld and his people, causing him to be banished. Actually come to think of it, if we really want this to align with Riptide canon we could say that his planet was a neutral one and Jayson had come to try to get them to join the empire, and the Elders were like, actually considering it. He attacks Jayson (just like in canon) and gets exiled. Chip and Jay(I'll get to them in just a second) find him out in space with his distress beacon on, as something had happened to his ship.

Jay's backstory would be pretty much the same. Her family has always been pretty powerful, even before the imperial ties. I'm thinking that her dad's side of the family would maybe be royalty of some sort of some smaller middle-rim planet or system. Maybe not even royalty, just had a history of important government officials in the family, and pretty old money, yknow? And then the empire comes along and they join it and they all become important imperial folks, with Jayson (and Drey) becoming Commanders and shit (I dont remember the terminology super well, just people who ordered imperial troops and stuff), rather than government officials. I'm thinking Grandma Ferin would sort of be both. Drey wouldn't have been a super high ranking officer though before he defected--he was never as ambitious as his brother, not for power. And then Ava, still a higher-up in this au, gets killed by rebels/non-imperials, and Jay does the same thing she does in Riptide and sets out to find out what happened to her.

okay I love Craig of the Creek with all my hearts and souls and I have a random idea that would make it 15x better:

So the credits of almost every episode is a cute little song with a background of Craig eating dinner with his family, and there are several episodes where other characters and their families are a big focus.

My idea is that at the end of those episodes, instead of the usual Craig-and-his-family-eating-dinner, it's the family of the character who was a focus during the episode.

For example, instead of the usual credits at the end of Grandma Smugglers, the credits have Raj eating dinner with his dad and grandma (and Shawn of course). At the end of Kelsey The Worthy the credits have Kelsey and her dad eating dinner. Even episodes that don't show character's families could still have that same thing, Like the champions having dinner with their families at the end of The Quick Name, Better Than You, and Dodgy Decisions. It's a cute and simple way to show character's families, and even their cultures and languages in some cases.

Another HL character in the AOT universe.

Poppy Sweeting is a member of the Scout Regiment.

Ranked 5 in the top 10 of their training division. Poppy is known as a weird little girl obsessed with horses.

She lived and was raised in a large horse ranch near the Wall of Maria. Her parents are traders of horses and owners of the ranch.

However, she discovered her parents used those precious horses for smuggling. Those horses are suffering and dying as a result. So one night, she released all the horses and ran away with her baby horse, Highwing to her grandma’ home.

Her grandma sent her to the military to avoid punishment from her parents and smugglers.

Poppy is a tiny little girl but great at fighting. Her combat skill is the best, aside from Leon, the top 1. She is even better than Sebastian, ranked second in the top 10.

She thinks she is a big sister to Leon and has to take care of Leon. Also, she wanted to work with horses, so she joined the Scout.

She conquered a lot of giants on her own. One time, one giant hurt her horse, and she killed all four of them within 10 minutes.

Seeing it as a big occasion, Fusey, being the kind and rowdy man he was, decided to organize a little party. He had prepared much for it already: entertainment, a DJ, a dance floor for the DJ, booze, coolers for the booze, everything he could possibly think of had basically been checked off his mental list.

All except catering, that is.

Seeing as the venue was, well, his own home, as the host he couldn’t have some regular old Joe (as professional as he may be) cater his guests; not when he was able to guarantee a good meal himself.

The man was a lovely cook when it came down to food he loved. And what he loved most was a great–no, amazing barbie. He had made it his mission to make that barbie happen.

“There’s more meat coming off than peel.”

“Oh, shut up. It's not my fault you don't own a bloody veggie peeler!”

"Don't need one when the knife is just as good."

So here you were, just a couple hours before the party, leaning over a sink and peeling vegetables. It was just the two of you—the two of you making food for twenty-four people. 

There was sauce to make, salads to mix, veggies to cut. Man, the menu was large.

You might as well be demanding a chef’s salary from him.

Your fingers felt as wrinkled as a grandma’s. With all the veggies you had run under the faucet and the water that still clung to their skin, your hands stayed wet and wrinkly. You reckon they wouldn’t be as fucked if you were faster at peeling them. See, whilst Fuse was a great cook, you were far from it.

Your time in the kitchen had been spent somehow burning water, setting things on fire (the non-professional way) and spilling shit all over the place. 

As much as Fuse loved a thermite grenade, the arson of his own kitchen was far from enjoyable, which is why you were delegated the task of peeling.

While you could probably use a knife for violent ways, you could definitely not use it for the delicate work of peeling nonuniform veggies. But you wouldn’t admit that. Not that you needed to, anyway. The peel filled sink was enough evidence.

“What are you even doing over there, anyway?” You scoff, “I don’t see shit on the stove.”

“Keep your eyes on your own work, bludger.” He replies in a snarky tone that matches yours. “There’s more veggies a-waitin’ and they ain’t gonna peel themselves.”

You turn to him, blank look on your face, “Weren’t you just commenting on my work?”

“That’s different!” He proclaims.

You huff, “As if!”

“Look, I’ll be right back with something, and then I’ll get to work.” He gives you a pointed look, “Will that satisfy you?”

“Depends on what you’re coming back with.”

“Oh, trust me,” He chuckles, “You’ll like it."

"Better not just be breaking out the budgie smugglers."

He promptly takes his leave. Now alone, without him to entertain you, you focus back on your boring old work. Speaking of, it was a damn miracle that your fingers weren’t littered with cuts. Whatever guardian angel was watching over you today must’ve been the same one that picked Wally out for you, as much of a prick he was right now.

You were tired of standing still and straight for minutes on end. So, you hunch over, leaning your elbows against the edge of the counter.

You only realize how suggestive the pose is when Wally comes back.

In truth, you have only been thinking in your comfort's best interests.

“Woah, love, today is not the day!” His voice turns into a near whisper, “Or well, at least right now is not the time.”

You turn to him curiously, brow raised. “What d'ya mean?”

Instead of answering outright, Wally struts over with one of those stupid, charming smirks of his you've grown to love. Oftentimes it meant he was smug about something, and while you knew he was smug, you could tell he wanted to do something mischievous too.

You just couldn't tell what.

Though, if you had only an inkling of awareness, you'd have known.

"Oh, no, nothing." He says, even though you know he's absolutely bluffing. He leans with his waist against the counter, eyes already half-lidded. 

"Fair dinkum?" You mirror his stance, far from convinced.

"O'course! Could never lie to ya, love." He snickers, knowing his accent is rubbing off on you. Then, he pulls you in for a kiss. 

Needless to say, your current vegetable and knife are abandoned by the sink, and so are most of your curious thoughts.

It's only a short kiss, but far far from chaste.

"Not that I'm complaining, but," Wally seductively bats his eyelashes at you, which makes you laugh, "you're kissing me be-?"

"Because I love you, and," He draws back from you, flourishing his apron with a quick bow and the meaningless waving of his hands. "because of this."

The phrase Kiss the cook is plastered with big, bold letters on his white apron and accentuated with an eye-catching red kiss mark. You hardly remember buying it for him.

"Oh," You snicker. "well then, come here for another."

Wally doesn't protest. How could he? You kiss again. He relishes in the feeling of your lips, hooking his arms around your waist to pull you even closer. The contact is sweet and makes him feel warm; a toasty, cozy warm. 

As much as Wally wanted to stay, there was a party coming and sides just waiting to be cooked. Even though at the end of the day he could call you a better meal than his own barbecue.

When you part, Wally gives you a knowing look.

"Do we have to?" You whine.

"Unfortunately." He declares in a sing-song voice. "Maybe I should've let Mirage host again." He mutters.

As he'd hoped, you settle back into your precious position and pick up your work.

So, he finally takes his opportunity.

He could never let such a good booty left without a tender, loving smacking.

Smack!

"Ow, you ass!"

"Your ass, actually."

RAMBLETIME 4 (I somehow have more)

We’re rambling about Brutux fellas!

This man needed so much goddamn explanation for his backstory that we just never got…

First off, he’s like, a fuckin gang leader. And that’s just completely glossed over.

HE RUNS A FUCKING GANG FOR BOOKS!!!

And he very clearly has a HUGE influence in the post-apocalyptic world. Like he created a whole monetary system based on credits and bartering. Where you can turn in treasures to him or others affiliated with the gang in turn for credits or goods.

Such as the bartender in the first episode. He mentions Sheriff not having enough credits to pay for food, so Sheriff gives him a rubber duck to pay for it. The bartender then tells him “But this doesn’t settle your debt with Brutux.” Then throws the duck into a vault.

When that vault is destroyed, and the bartender goes to Brutux to tell him that, Brutux sends him to the dungeons to be tortured. When Joe questions him about his decision he says, “I’m the biggest smuggler on this cheek. I can’t let anyone make a fool of me.”

So my guy is REALLY important in this world, and he knows it too. So why tf did he drop everything to join a ragtag team of people trying to make the impossible happen??

Honestly I headcannon that he’s actually still part of the gang, he’s still leading it while also being part of La Résistance.

It would be interesting to have seen a concept like this explored in the show, and to see Brutux reach out to his gang for help every now and then. Or for the others to question his true intentions, because everyone in this world likely knows of Brutux at the very least.

I also think he stuck around because of Dr. White. Cause that’s like his idol, and hanging out with him has probably been Brutux’s dream since he started reading.

When Brutux was a kid we know he was in a gang, I think his parents were also in a gang and that’s how he got affiliated with them in the first place. His parents probably died at some point and left him on his own, so he joined a ragtag kid gang. Then we know he created his own gang sometime after that when he fell in love with books. He kept growing that gang until the Big Fart, and then modified it to center more around finding artifacts than books. He gradually gained influence over the post-apocalyptic world, and that leaves us to the present day.

Now ima just move on to some basic headcannons that I don’t feel like writing paragraphs about:

- he tall fella (~6’2)

- has had several identity crises (both about his sexuality and his general existence)

- loves using big vocab words just bc he can

- taught himself French, Latin, Italian, and a little Greek

- has French heritage

- Has survived three assassination attempts, one of them left him without an eye.

- Always wanted to open a school, but the apocalypse crushed that dream

- writes in a diary (he starts every page with “dear diary”)

- is a homosexual

- he wears makeup, not a lot but enough

- loves listening to Dr. White talk about his hyperfixations

- might have a crush on Dr. White (he would never admit it)

Overall Brutux is a really interesting character. I just love the concept of him being a gang leader for the soul sake of getting books. I haven’t seen anything like that anywhere else, we usually get “tough guy but softie” or something like that. But Brutux isn’t a softie, he’s a tough guy, he just likes books.

He isn’t judged for it either, except by Sheriff, but I don’t think Sheriff can even read in the first place…

He’s also a theatre kid, and like, I love that. He’s a big guy who loves dancing around a stage essentially playing pretend and that just fits him so well. <3

Unrelated but in the episode “Grandma’s Cookbook” Brutux pretends to be a french girl while shirtless?? And like, Ms. Paper just goes with it?? I mean, ally Ig slay

LS version. no master-apprentice dynamics between the two as they are equal. became more self-assured and decisive as she got older. loves to take walks, forage, sew outfits, and record daily footages.

Class : Jedi Knight Weapon : Dual Lightsabers

a shy archeologist. she's more proficient in sabers than the force, spends most time on artifacts and crystals. very tragic mom, but the most resilient and compassionate. left the jedi order on her own accord after a tragedy. loves to cook, read literary works, sparring, and crafts crystal accessories. died during the dread war :(

a no nonsense jedi master. quite arrogant and unorthodox. his expertise on trakata is controversial amongst his fellow jedi, but challenge him on why it's wrong and you'll earn a debate table. skilled fighter pilot, callsign is "vision" as he likes to take out enemies out of their line of sight. loves to theorycraft, deep research, explore force techniques, and crafts lightsabers. died after the dread war :(

distant and quiet, unlike her dad. her keeping the distance from her family was partly due to her line of job. her cousins are actually accepting of her, and fortunately it wasn't too late for them to get closer to each other. loves sports, code programming, tinkering with gadgets, and practice shooting.
