renbob rarely dates, mainly due to being aroflux n having fluctuating romantic attraction, but despite that he couldnt help the fact that he always wanted to be in a qpr w doc, w renbob having been experiencing sexual + queerplatonic attraction (n the occasional romantic attraction when his arofluxness dips more towards the allo to grayaro side) to the goat-creeper hybrid since theyve met back in s7
It's not easy to explain, especially when the creeper's idea of relationships differs culturally to Renbob's own. Their relationships are a lot more intense, which is why he wanted to make sure he was ready to pursue this and it wasn't a passing interest.
Thankfully for Doc, though, Renbob is nothing but patient. If he can learn the patterns for so many friendship bracelets then he can find a way to make this work between them. Doc loves understanding things! He thinks this'll go great.

Jirou and Mina for the character ask!!
Send me characters and I’ll answer questions on them!
Kyoka Jiro
Sexuality headcanon: Demisexual bi, with a preference towards girls. She’s had a guy crush before, but her first crush on a girl hit pretty damn hard, awakening out the disaster bi. Also polyamorous, though has only really been in monogamous relationships.
Gender headcanon: Cis girl, she/they. She did experiment around with her gender in middle school, seeing how she felt with different pronouns and if any other identity clicked with her. In the end, she found that she is comfortable with the gender assigned at birth, but also found that she clicks well with they/them in addition to she/her.
A ship I have with said character: MomoJiro. I could go on for days about how good these two are together, then being my favorite pairing for both of them. While at first this may appear as an opposites attract relationship, they actually share a lot more in common, as well as sharing their interests with each other (one of the analysis/data books has revealed that Momo has started listening to rock/punk because of Kyoka introducing it to her and sharing songs). They’re always looking out for each other, and you can easily see how they make each other happier just from being around one another. Couldn’t find a better ship involving these two of you tried.
A BrOTP I have with said character: BakuJiro. I do actually ship these two romantically together, but it’s a minor ship of mine than a major one, so I’m focusing on them platonically here. Now this is a case of opposites attract, though they both stand on equal ground with each other in terms of respect and, for lack of a better word, power in their friendship. Because of that, they get along well and enjoy each other’s company, as well as keeping each other in check.
A NOTP I have with said character: KamiJiro. While it does appear this is going to be the second canon ship between the students of 1-A, I just never really got into it. More ambivalent than actual dislike, but it’s not exactly something I’m seeking out fan content for. Their dynamic is that of an opposites attract, but there’s not the right elements present to make them work romantically. To me, they work best when they stay platonic and have a friendship full of playful teasing that knows when to take itself seriously.
A random headcanon: Bringing back an old one, that one being her having solid tech skills from working with instruments from such a young age. After all, one way to get better at something is to understand the tools used to achieve it. Plus, with her quirk being earphone jacks, I think tech knowledge can help with it.
As for a more recent one, she’s the kind of person who rarely paints her nails. Not because she doesn’t like it, but more because she’s very diligent about keeping her nails short (as it makes the bass and guitar easier to play) and feels like she wouldn’t get to enjoy the color much.
General Opinion over said character: Why don’t more people like her? She’s a really great supporting cast member! Her arc in the Culture Festival, while not battle focused, was very well done, both in terms of the themes of the series (what it means to save and reach out to people) and in terms of her character development (learning she doesn’t have to sacrifice her passion to work hard to be a Hero). She also gets really nice side moments that add nice bite to her character.
Mina Ashido
Sexuality headcanon: Pansexual demiromantic. The official analysis/data books state that she’s never liked anyone but wishes she can be in love, which encourages a lot of arospec readings of her. It’s easy to see her as cupioromantic, aromantic, grayaro, or demiromantic, the one I see her as. Friendships are very important to her, but one has never crossed that line into something more than friends. She knows she doesn’t have any real preference for any gender and just wants to have the chance to be with someone who makes her happy. Or someones, as she’s also polyamorous.
Gender headcanon: Cis girl, she/her (alt reading: genderfuild, she/they/he). So this is the first character so far where I have two headcanons in terms of gender. With the first one, she just kinda knew from the start that she’s sure of who she is, never really needing to question or test things out. With the second one, it’s the same level of assurance in which she is, playing around with how to refer to herself and how she wants to express her identity.
A ship I have with said character: TsuMina! They don’t have a ton of moments actively together, more just background stuff, but it’s enough for me! After all, this is my fave ship for both of them. They get along really well, both of them balancing each other out well to cover each other’s blind spots (I’m starting to notice a theme here). It’s energetic sunshine with level headed sunshine, and I find that appealing.
A BrOTP I have with said character: KiriMina. While the dynamic between the two was introduced in the second third of the series, I find it nice, though just platonically. The fact they went to the same middle school is interesting given the fact they didn’t seem to interact much there compared to now. They enjoy each other’s company and hang out a lot, and even give each other ideas. I just wish we got to see Mina’s perspective on things more, especially after her freeze up during the war at Jaku. Her story feels incomplete, sometimes coming off more like a part of Eijiro’s story than her own.
A NOTP I have with said character: Hmmm… I suppose SeroMina? This is definitely a case of ambivalence. I see why people ship them; I just have never really given Sero much thought at all. I shrug my shoulders when I see it, but it won’t necessarily turn me away from something involving it in the background.
A general headcanon: Bringing back another old one to say that she has a great skin care routine. It’s kinda needed in a lot of ways to make sure her body doesn’t dry up thanks to her acid. Sure, it has the tools it needs to stay healthy, but it’s still something she takes care of.
As for a new one, she’s taken a good number of roller skating lessons and almost tried out for derby (if that’s a thing over there). Her acid sliding skill we see in canon suggests a lot of practice, and given its resemblance to this actual sport, I wouldn’t be surprised if she has experiments in it! What started out as a fun activity with both her dads and mom for family bonding became a hobby, though one that she didn’t invest much in after focusing more on dance.
General Opinion on said character: I enjoy seeing her, but as I mentioned in the BrOTP section, there are parts to her story that feel incomplete, not helped at all by the recent increase in pacing. From little things to not knowing how she felt about her save back in middle school to how she’s processing Midnight’s death, she can feel more like parts of other stories rather than one that can contribute to others and stand on its own. Which is rather upsetting. I’m really grateful for fan work that fills in those gaps, but I wish we could have seen more from the published story.

Hey! I have a question about being grayromantic. I'm very into romance, i enjoy love stories and i want romantic relationships. But recently i realised that I've never actually felt proper romantic attraction.
I've never had a crush, the closest thing I've felt is alterous and/or sexual attraction. I'm also in my late teens, which is the stereotypical "crushes and highschool sweethearts" age. everyone around me is having crushes and relationships and I don't relate at all.
Also the concept of actually liking someone is really foreign to me. I see online dating and asking for strangers numbers and i think, "but how can i like someone i know nothing about?" but then i see friends and acquaintances getting together and i go,"but i'm so content and happy being friends I don't need anything 'more'?"
It's like i want to have feelings for someone but I can't fathom developing those feelings. I want to do romantic things with a hypothetical someone, but I can't imagine doing them w anyone i already know irl.
But i am still a romance nutin theory, i ship a lot of characters, i consume mostly romantic media, i want to date ppl someday. I'm cheesy and I'm weak for confessions of love and all the cliche tropes. Valentines day and roses and pink hearts is something i love, which is where my question comes in.
Most grayromantics i see are like, "yea I'm kindof into romance but not really" or "I've had a few crushes but the ides of romance doesn't rlly appeal to me" and I'm the exact opposite. I don't know, does that make me not grayaro? My love for romance and love stories. It's the only thing keeping me from using the gray aro label. I'm pretyy sure I'm grayaro but this one thing prevents me from actually using the term.
Thank you! Hope this wasn't too long and annoying
Hello! This one is actually right up my alley, but it's also quite a bit to unpack, so let's get into it. There are a lot of aspec people who struggle with their identities because of this. In fact, when I first identified with the aspec, I thought it meant I couldn't consume any romantic/sexual media and I shunned myself every time I did. But, the reality of it is, you can be aspec and still actively want and consume these sorts of things! Just as some aspec people are sex/romance repulsed and neutral, some people are sex/romance favorable! Which means that they still like/want romance/sex, despite their lack of attraction. I myself identify as both grayromantic and cupioromantic! I haven't ever really experienced romantic attraction, maybe once or twice, but regardless I still want to have romantic relationships with people! The lack of attraction does make it difficult, but just like you I hope to have someone (or multiple someones) to live out my life with/ I'm really bad at explaining things, so I guess my answer is, yes! You can totally identify as grayaro if you think it fits you. Labels and identities are made to help us find ourselves, not to push us back into more carefully defined boxes. Your identity is yours to decide, not society's ideas of what's what. So, yeah! I hope that, and the link to the cupioromantic wiki, helps. And if not, I would like to point you in the direction of the wonderful @romo-aro-culture-is! That blog is run by the wonderful Mod Emcee, and they focus mainly on being arospec and romance favorable! I'm sure you'll find whatever you need there. If anyone has anything to add, please feel free to do so in the form of a reblog!

TERFs really got baby lesbians saying some shit
#trust me the homophobes do not care if you're a lesbian or a bi woman when they scream the d slur at you#& like all of the 'lesbian specific' terms are from before the lesbian separatist movement#back when us dirty bis were still called lesbians#before we got kicked out of the super exclusive lesbian club for being 'available to men' cause apparently bi women are a commodity#like those terms are just as much a part of our history and culture as well tyvm#also queer elders didn't fight tooth and fucking nail to reclaim the word queer for terfs to tell everyone that nobody can ever use it#like I get not being comfy with cishets using it#but like I'm queer. I'm a nonbinary trans grayaro bisexual I have a right to that word#you're gay and don't want to be a part of the queer community? cool. you aren't#it's always been a more radical and politicized identity#go sit with your assimilationist friends and leave us the fuck alone#like I am so tired of 15-20 year olds speaking as though they're an authority on lgbt and queer history#but almost never actually listening to elders#like when I was younger bi still wasn't even a super well known label#it didn't really gain any mainstream traction until the 80s#but these baby gays want to spout the same rehashed biphobic terf nonsense again#like we haven't been fighting against this nonsense for decades#like y'all say you include trans women but forget that the same people that wanted bi women out of lesbian spaces fought just as hard to ke#keep trans women out as well

What is a grayaroace??
I guess this came up since it's on my personal info post - I'll gladly give a simple overview
Just to fully break this down for everyone in case someone hasn't ever heard this term/parts of this term..
This is going to be a rather simple info post, so I'll attach a few resources here and there if you want to further explore the various labels.
Aromanticism
Aro, or aromantic, is an umbrella term and as defined by the LGBTA Wiki is "a romantic orientation defined by a lack of romantic attraction"
This does NOT mean that aromantic people or people who exist on the aromantic spectrum are love- or emotionless. They can still feel and experience love in various forms.
People under the aro umbrella, can still be sexually attracted to others.
People who do not exist under the aromantic umbrella are alloromantics
Resources:
@aromantic-official
@aro-culture-is
Asexuality
Ace, or a asexual, as defined by the LGBTA Wiki is "a sexual orientation defined by a lack of sexual attraction"
People under the ace umbrella, can still be romantically attracted to others.
People who do not exist under the asexual umbrella, are called allosexuals
Resources:
@asexual-society
@ace-culture-is
---
Being aromantic and/or asexual is does not need to be a binary thing, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. Being either/or can be an experience that exists on a spectrum. There are many sub-labels
E.g. (THIS IS A NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST)
- Aroace, when you identify with both the aro AND ace labels
- Grayaro, a general term for being on the aromantic spectrum
- Grayace, a general term for being on the asexual spectrum
- Grayaroace, general term for being on the aro AND ace spectrum
- Demiaro, "a romantic orientation on the aromantic spectrum defined as someone who does not experience romantic attraction until they have formed a deep emotional connection with someone"
- Demiace, "a sexual orientation on the asexual spectrum defined as someone who does not experience sexual attraction until they have formed a deep emotional connection with someone "
- Demiaroace, BOTH demiro and demiace
ETC.
---
I hope I've covered the basic info about the labels.
I personally ID as grayaroace (I also use demiaroace, but I like to keep it more vague just because of how much it really fluctuates)

Closeted grayaro (also fits for frayaro??) culture is getting annoyed at your best friend cause she keeps trying to set you up with someone you lost feelings for
It "doesn't matter" if I feel nothing, cause she says she'll try to make him like me again and I'll eventually fall into it.
[ Also I hope you're having a good day, take care :) ]

hi! i just wanted to say that i relate 100% to the post you just made about questioning your aroness; honestly it’s really freaking close to my own experience. i related to pretty much everything you said from realizing the distinction between ace and aro to the overall disinterest in relationships (unless i experience the rare and elusive crush).
I personally identify as gray aro (and gray ace too! hello fellow gray-area person) for many of the reasons you described, and while i’m not in the aro community much and i can’t relate to the large majority of it, i’m pretty certain the gray aro label fits me nonetheless.
for me, it had to do with that ‘disconnect’ i (and you) felt from alloros and how i was always a little different, even just a tiny bit. it also had to do with the fact that my crushes are relatively rare, but that feeling of being different from the norm alone makes me feel like you could totally use the gray aro or orchidromantic or any other arospec label.
that being said, if you wanted to go by allo/heteroromantic you totally could; from my perspective, labels are relative and i’m sure someone with the exact same experience as mine would label themselves asexual instead of gray ace; it’s a personal preference.
(if you do decide you want to adopt an arospec label, i suggest following @romo-aro-culture-is for some romance favorable aro content)
this is pretty long and i kinda feel weird sending advice to an advice/educational blog and i hope i somewhat helped, but also feel free to delete this if it’s just weird and/or unsolicited 😅
Thank you! 💚 This was helpful actually, just seeing someone else relate. It makes me feel better about possibly going by grayaro. Especially the part about feeling different than the norm, because I feel that a lot whenever alloros start talking about dating. Meanwhile, a majority of my crushes I'd be happy just learning new things about them. Or admiring from a distance. And I don't get the appeal of dating for the sake of dating. Or why you'd want to date someone you don't already have a crush on. Or actively searching for a partner for reasons other than amatonormitivity. And now I'm getting convinced I'm arospec. 😄

Loving Aro Culture Blog
 Hello!
You can call me Tui (they/she/he), I’m a Brazilian AroAce that loves very intensely my platonic partnes, my art and my family (My first language is portuguese and my english is not perfect, feel free to correct me in case i mispell or worded something badly).
I created this blog to show that aros (and arospec) can love in many way just as passionately as allos, and that not all aros are averse to the idea of love (there’s nothing whong with the ones that do, we support and respect our loveless and love averse siblings).
A Loving Aro can be aros that:
1. Are demi or grayaros (and other arospec identities) that experience ‘love’ time to time
2. Have very intense tertiary attraction and call it ‘love’
3. Have a passion for their work and/or hobbies and call it ‘love’
4. Cares a lot for their family, friends or partners and call it ‘love’
Feel free to send asks and remenber to start with ‘Loving aro culture is’ or varients of this.

Grayaro culture is having a crisis about whether you're actually aro, and starting to question what romance feels like, but all you can come up with is an overwhelming feeling of attachment and care towards someone and like... that's not it??? Or is it?

Religious romance-positive grayaro culture is thinking you wouldn't mind being in a relationship until you learn that one of the women from chruch wants her son to get with you or your sister, and then sobbing on the inside. Or seeing how they expect marriage to happen to everyone and also get into their business when they do... And then you question if you want a relationship at all.

greyaro culture is reading reader x character fics BUT imagining an OC instead. the last thing i ever thought i'd read was self-insert fics but then one of my favorite writers started writing them and hers are just so good that i'm basically able to imagine Reader as an OC. also some of the self-inserts i've read truly could be original characters, but self-insert is a lot more popular so i get why some writers prefer that point of view over another (jn addition to their own preferences)
