Thought about a missing scenes fic that takes place during "Together" that's just an excuse for me to write the Titans as they were in season 1. It'd be after the barn scene, Dick takes them all out for dinner and they all just talk about themselves so they can learn about each other. It'd be only humor/fluff. And by the end when they're driving back to the motel, the kids fell asleep in the back seats, and Kory notices Dick angle the rear view mirror to look at them and goes "You care about them, don't you?" and Dick tells her "I just wanna keep them safe" which means "yes I do"

This is how I would have loved for Titans to go across the season.

S1: Titans meet.

S2: They grow as a team while addressing their pasts.

S3: They are established as a family. Also dickkory finally adress their feelings.

S4: They embrace newer members into their family.

S5: They face a force BIGGER than them that almost wipes them all out and the world e.g alien invasion, demons (just like they are doing with the Church of Blood).

No i'm totally not crying over Titans I'm just thinking about how the reveal that the Chief killed Gar's parents should've been it's own Gar focused episode so he could've actually had more time to react to the information instead of having to rush into the next scene

And it should've been the others with him for multiple reasons. Kory finds the files and tells Gar what it says, and Gar's immediate reaction is to laugh it off and make some joke about always knowing something was weird about how the Chief found him. The Titans are all concerned for him as the laughter dies down and Gar looks like the realization and what it means is hitting him hard, he stumbles backwards and slides down the wall, he's mumbling "oh no no no" to himself and Rachel tries to go calm him down with her magic when he starts crying but Kory stops her and tells her that's not what he needs, he needs to process his feelings and situation

Since he's still connected to the Red as his crying gets worse, all the plants that overtook the room start dying, and after giving him a few more minutes to himself Kory thinks this I'd time for the person with the most experience to comfort him and Dick agrees, so he goes to sit next to Gar and side embraces him while whispering to him "I know" and tells him that everything will be okay

I've noticed people who claim to love core 4 and Graysonfam completely ignore Kory's relationship with Gar and Rachel. Especially Rachel. I don't get that like wth is that about?

She's only relevant to some people as a sex object for Dick and that's it. Just be badass and have sex with Dick. Only Donna and Rachel truly get him. They ignore that she's Dick's best friend. They also ignore the emotional support she provides for Rachel and Gar and is given in return. Rachel is why Kory stayed in season 2. She called Kory "her person". Kory and Gar also have a special bond and he was devasted when he thought she died.

She matters to them just as much as Dick does. She always has.

“Dick.” His name is cautious, it’s sharp, she can see through his attempts at distraction, and she isn’t willing to play along.

He nods, his tongue sticking to the roof of his mouth, “They’ll come to check on us soon. We don’t have much time.” He watches her lean forward so he doesn’t have to speak any louder, “This set-up? The chairs? The location? It’s an interrogation. They want information from us. I don’t know what yet. I don’t know how much they know about who we are, so we have to play this carefully.”

“We don’t tell them anything. No matter what.” She replies firmly.

Dick wants to smile at the fight in her, the warrior he can see lighting up behind the green of her eyes, “Kory… you need to let me take this one. An interrogation like this… blood is going to be spilled. I need you…”

“No fucking way.” She bites out, “I’m not going to watch them torture you and do nothing. We’re in this together.”

The fear rattles through him like an icy cold breeze, “We are in this together.” He assures her, “But I can’t… It’s strategy. I’m the weak link here. I can hold out with my own pain but if I see you hurt? If I see you bleeding? I’ll give them anything they ask for to make it stop.”

Kory shakes her head, “You just said…”

“I know what I said.” Dick sighs, “But you’re my weakness, Kory. You always have been. You saw how I was at the Asylum when they had you on that table. The way we’re positioned right now, I have to believe that they know you’re my weakness too. The only difference is they don’t give a shit. They’ll use it.”

“If that’s true then it doesn’t matter, they’ll target me anyway.” She points out with a clenched jaw.

He knows that, he has a plan for that, “Which is why I’m planning to shift their attention. Keep the focus on me.”
