taking a
Jul. 1st, 2022; 14h16
graduate school admissions test (GRE) in a few weeks, and... i'm not feeling bad about it? that feels scary to say, or to ~put out there~, but i've taken a bunch of practice tests now and i'm going to keep doing practice problems until i take it. I signed up for the GRE psych test for the fall as well, and everything in The Future just feels more attainable today.
like i'm not in high school anymore, gearing up for another 4 more years of college. i'm not a freshman in college anymore, with COVID hitting and trying not to imagine being at home for the rest of my college time. i'm here, and it's my second summer not being depressed in a few years, and i'm not just not depressed but i'm happy, and i still have wild ups and downs but when i'm down i so rarely feel like i'm never going to be up again?
i've restarted therapy, specifically targeting c-PTSD this time (please feel free to ask any questions about it!! i'm doing EMDR, which is so interesting to me both in how i'm experiencing it as a patient and as a type of therapy that i might one day like to practice), and, occasionally, sometimes, i feel like i'm going to be able to draw boundaries? As in, after my therapy session on wednesday i was like—hold up, i could draw boundaries. (and that was one of the first times that i genuinely, in my heart, felt like that was something possible to do.)
i'm just... feeling good. extremely decent. riding the ups and downs. studying for the future. feeling a bit like things are clicking, and even when i hate everything and the dishes suck my soul as they pile up in the sink, and it's obnoxious going back to my family home most weekends, there's a future that's feeling more solid day by day:) <3

Me to friends: Mental health is the key to college. You can't pour from an empty glass, and you can't use and uncharged battery.
Me to myself: GRAD SCHOOL'S DON'T LOOK AT YOUR MENTAL HEALTH, THEY LOOK AT YOUR GRADES

Jun. 8th, 2020; 14h53
super good at taking the train recently... got on the wrong direction on one train and missed one train by 5 min bc i wrote down the wrong departure time:D so while i wait for another train to catch and lament the fact that my babysitting tomorrow now will go towards paying for this new train, here are the things i need to do when i get back to nyc (🥳)
housekeeping tasks
dishes. because i am greatly intelligent and busy and honestly idec i just left them so i've gotta do them now
unpack
laundry
make/plan lunch for tomorrow
pack backpack for tomorrow
clean bathtub
academic things
go over GRE practice test
take GRE math sections
go over GRE math sections
am going back to family home next week for father's day, so ideally i'll do all of these things before them—but the GRE bit is def the most important part when i have downtime because i'm quite shit at doing work at my family home now and i'd love to take the GRE at the end of this month:)
otherwise, i'm continuing on my internship for the summer!! still helping bbs overcome their anxiety at a therapy practice, and feeling super confident about it which is just really fun because i remember so much last year when I was extremely nervous about it all. very happy to answer any questions, and i'll try to make more psych fact posts as i continue learning! also it's been just about a year since i've started reading again!!! and i'm still going!!! (tetedump on storygraph) and i'm unbelievably excited about it all hehehehe and i brought a french book back from my family home to see if i can try and read that:) so perhaps some new vocab word posts too. ok i'll go listen to some music now and await my train. nyc here i comeeeee
