Out of any show that exists, Mononoke is one of the few that I can say is truly unique. Everything about it, from the visuals to the writing, is extraordinary to me. I'll never regret watching this show. Can't wait for the movie to come out!

Hey I knew exactly what was gonna happen in episode 8 of TLOU and somehow was not prepared?? Like how did they make David more terrifying?

First of all: he was a teacher before this? Barf. “I’ve always had a violent heart” or whatever? Double barf. This man has done this countless times.

When he hit that girl and sat and ate right in front of them I knew in my gut he was going to be worse than in the game. Obviously the show doesn’t have to move on so you can play. The whole thing is meant to be observed. So they can flesh stuff out. But oh my god

And then AND THEN DURING THE FIGHT?!??? BEFORE ELLIE KILLED HIM?!??!?!??? The screams were so realistic I started sobbing and dry heaving. I don’t care that I knew she’d be fine in the end. It scared me and reduced me back to my experiences and how horrible they were. And there was nothing I could do. I couldn’t press a button. I just had to watch. And when he said something about “the fight makes it better” or whatever? Extra barf I cannot

And the disassociation afterwards?!?!??? Like?!???!??? Correct. You don’t know what’s going on or if you’re safe and she’s still in shock and she did get to get her aggression out on him (since Joel didn’t come in like in the game) but oh my god the immediate defense mechanism?!???

Give Bella Ramsey all of the awards because they deserve it and also give me a Xanax because I had a panic attack and sat rocking back and forth sobbing on my couch for like 30-40 minutes

A lot of stuff was similar to the game too. “Tell them Ellie is the little girl who broke your fucking finger!” Always a classic. But this was definitely MORE than the game. Just as a warning

Just gotta throw this out there to the DPxDC crowd cuz this is a magnificent fic with stunningly beautiful imagery and absolutely made me laugh right away then gave me so many emotions.

I love it.

Summary:

Jazz meets her soulmate in, of all places, Park Row. Or as the locals call it, Crime Alley.

Seems about right for her life, she decides as she kicks the shit out of the guy who was trying to stab him for his wallet fifteen seconds ago. Her soulmate watches her curiously, seeming unconcerned by the fuss, and takes a sip of his smoothie.

I wanna talk about this writer’s work on AO3.

Their name is Sabbathgoat and their work is amazing.

This snippet here exactly demonstrates what a great writer can do.

So the plot is Eric is a whore and Tommy, on the lookout for a night of sex with a man, hires him without realising it was Eric.

So Tommy put out a request for him saying he was on the older side and has enough money to pay him well.

When Eric shows up, he asks Tommy this:

Eric adding “famous” to the description and Tommy correcting him adds nothing to the plot, but it adds so much depth to the conversation. It’s highlights the dynamic going on here. It’s an extra view into both their personalities.

I LOVE writing like this. It casually adds a whole new dimension to the story. It’s the difference between being a good writer and being a great writer. If fanfic is your thing, I’d encourage you to look sabbathgoat up.

This is one of my biggest regrets while playing bg3 so far. It has been so emotionally impactful that I would like to share it.

Bg3 spoilers ahead (Act 2)

I did not escort the refugees from the grove. Instead, I saved the grove, and they left without me. Idk if this would have changed anything honestly, but I feel like maybe I could have done something.

I didn't really care for Rolan in Act 1, but you could tell he cared about his siblings a lot and they thought very highly of him.

Upon my arrival at the last light Inn, I find Rolan drunk, surrounded by children. Apparebtly, on the way through the area, they were ambushed. Rolan protected the children from the attack, but his siblings were captured. I tried so hard to tell him that I'd save his siblings, but at some point, he left, and I didn't notice.

I was exploring the map and entered a fight. One of my characters remarked that they saw Rolan. I think he was already dead. Or he was killed at the beginning of the fight before my characters had a chance to react.

After the fight, I used speak with dead on him. I asked about his family and learned that the two he cared for were not actually his siblings, that all his blood family was dead.

I went back to the Last Light and found his recording, saying he had gone out to find his siblings and realized I probably could have prevented his death if I had found the recording earlier.

Eventually, I rescued everyone from prison and got them to the Last Light. The two would always be by the recording, asking me to find Rolan. The game wouldn't let me tell them, so I took his body and brought it back to them. They were oblivious to Rolan's corpse laying at their feet and just kept asking me to search for him.

I feel so awful. I haven't met up with them again in act 3 yet, but it weighs so heavily on me. I don't know how the two will be, but I keep thinking about how much Rolan wanted to go to Baulders Gate and the person he could have been.

Hayden's Notes is one of my all time favorite comics/graphic novels and so I want to recommend and promote it, and it's creator Yufei.

142+ pages so binge as you please.

Hayden's Notes is a magic-realism mystery with horror elements, set in a fictional country in the first half of the 20th century. The comic’s told in a non-chronological order revolving around Hayden Carter, immortal (by accident) gray mage, pursuer of knowledge and a witty nuisance for everyone around.

There's a lot of sass and a grumpy detective.

There's also a bunch of cute moments.

Cat's my favorite character, then Shy, then Hayden, then Wolfe.

Funniest character: It's a tie between Fred Best and Homer Jackson... nah, it's totally Fred

Best-looking character: Well, I won't say Flight again (although he's a cutie). So, let's go with the lovely Rose

3 favourite ships: Oh my, there are a lot... Rose/Bennet (they earned their happy ending); Reid/Jane Cobden (we could have had it aaaaaaaaalllll); but I also like Reid/Deborah Goren, and Reid/Jackson (someone just please love that tragic DI); and Raine/Susan (there is some really nice fic out there)

Least favourite character: See, this is hard, because the caliber of antagonists on this show is just *chef's kiss ... so, I'll say Jedediah Shine (because I could write many essays on his twisted pseudo-father-figure-emotional-blackmail dynamic with Flight)... but damn, if he isn't a great character

Least favourite ship: Shine/Flight (because, ugh, no thank you please); Reid/Mimi (I'm sorry, y'all... I did not like Mimi as a character); Mathilda/Samuel (because they were kind of boring)

Reason why I watch it: THE WRITING... especially the dialogue. See Silas Duggan's "Men of Old Stone" speech in s2

Why I started watching it: My guess is because after Being Human UK, I wanted to see DaMo (Damien Molony) in as many things as possible. And then I fell into the Void.
