Cuba legalized same-sex marriage!
Cubans overwhelmingly approved their new civil this last sunday which included same-sex marriage and adoption for same-sex couples!
Cuba is the first communist country to ever legalize same-sex marriage. Cuba has gone a long way, from persecuting gay people in the 60s to apologizing about it in the 90s and now legalizing marriage. It's great news.
Cuba is now the 34th country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage and the 9th Latin American country to do so.
Several Latin American countries have long been very progressive when it comes to gay rights, in the legal sense (Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina in particular).
In many regions of Latam society is not as accepting as the legal rule is, but it is changing rapidly.
Examples:
Argentina has the most comprehensive trans rights bill, you can change gender and sex legally even without medical consent; last I checked Sweden, a very progressive country society-wise, required you proof of surgery to do that (which I hope has changed).
Trans rights and gay protection bills in Colombia date to the late 80s and early 90s. Gay unions (shy of of "full' marriage) date to the early 2000s, and full gay marriage to the 2010s. Society is not as accepting in rural areas, but in cities, no one is blinking an eye these days, so the laws came first, and society is catching up. Mexico is very simillar

Why Russia Might Lose the Far East to China
Why Russia Might Lose the Far East to China due to Russian declining demographics and Chines strategic use of its population
The Russian demographics have declined for nearly half a century due to instability in Russia in the 1990s and the collapse of the Russian higher educational system, particularly in technology and engineering fields in the mid-1980s. Furthermore, in the 1990s, in the aftermath of the Cold War from 1945 to 1989, the collapse of the Soviet Union regime in Russia in 1990 gave Russia a decade of…
