Day 17 in 30 days of Daffodils on Forsythia Hill in Charlottesville Virginia.
Masquerading as a Daffodil, I’m squeaking in this tiny little bulb. What would a Daffodil garden be without Snowdrops! A fascinating little Galanthus bulb that comes in many variations; Giant, Double, Common, and a long list of specialty bred varieties.
They are reported to show early but where they are situated in my garden they bloom after 16 other varieties of Daffodils have given their best (check out my previous days of daffodils). They also are often shown growing aggressively covering lawns. After 10 years, mine don’t seem to be in any hurry to spread and require dividing to get them to even think about reproducing.
