Greetings from Riverblossom Hills Year one: introduction

Here is the town of Riverblossom Hills

This rural town is far away from.. well, everything. It's a nice place for the young to grow up (although, maybe a bit boring at times...).

There's currently 16 sims spread across 6 households in the town:

I've been enjoying playing my maxis uberhood recently. I made quite a few premades into townies or just am choosing not to play some households except to age sims up manually every now and then, as it's overwhelming enough as it is! It's maybe 36 households currently I think, so it's taken ages to play 11 days each!

Growing up in a pagan household- Beltane:

Disclaimer~ my family practice in relation to the Celts. This will not be accurate for others but for my household. Thought I’d share some Beltane traditions as May Day is almost upon us!

Celebrated May 1st,

The Union of the God and Goddess is observed,

Turning fully away from winter as pollination begins,

The door to the Otherworld is reopen,

Belenus is honoured on our family alter,

The Goddess and The Greenman are celebrated,

We usually light a fire a few hours before celebrating and then extinguish it and relite it as symbolism for The Great Fire Of Beltane

When my brothers (I don’t have sisters) got girlfriends they went a-Maying in the woods with them (haven’t reached the stage of hand fasting for either of them yet),

Sometimes we’d pretend to crown my parents with flower crowns and they’d jump over a broom,

We were always warned to not go into the woods on Beltane as the fey and individuals from the spirit realm are particularly frisky on this day,

Usually on the day after we’ll start planting stuff in the garden,

We’ll usually (separately) do some chakra mediation to bring about the charge of the Goddess,

Love spells (obviously) are particularly good to do around this time but I caution you, unless the other participant has consented do not cast any spells (love or otherwise) onto them. It will come back 3 fold.

The Patel - Ramaswami household is next.

All adults in the house are in the middle of their respective high-level career races.

Priya works on her second novel parallel to that, and Sanjay makes sure to spend some father-son time with Rama, teaching him to play guitar like a Rock God (which Sanjay would've already become if not for a series of set-backs to his musical career).

Rama is suffering from a late summer cold - should've spent less time in the pool.

Meanwhile Ramir and Ana's marriage is on thin ice, without Ramir even realizing it. Ana had a random hookup with her young colleague Guy Rai; the affair hasn't gone anywhere so far because Ana's not rolling any wants realted to Guy, but that might change at any moment.

Patricia also spends too much time in the pool, but doesn't have much going on otherwise.

Stopped by the Greenman household and Rose immediately rolled to have a baby. Soo, she went to the backyard and shook that pollinated head of hers...and just my luck she popped out two lil green beans. Fern & Oleander (we are sticking to a theme here with the names 😉). Now I’ve got three (don’t forget Daisy!) lil sprouts roaming around the house causing chaos.

Seeing as Plantsims don’t need sleep...they just play all night! Gotta get that skill gain young. 💪

I love how Daisy just blatantly tells her mom that her robe is ugly. She can sometimes be a nice sister.

Tulip aged up and definitely is a replica of her father lol. She helps out in the greenhouse quite often.
