Imagine Addison noticing Mark's feelings for you
It's the look on Mark's face that causes Addison to slow her walk as she's walking on the bridge. He's resting his arms against the railing, looking down at something on the first floor. He has an unconscious smile growing, tender and soft eyes gazing below to the first floor of the hospital as whatever he's watching has him practically radiating joy.
Addison might have first gotten to know Mark because he was Derek's best friend but she had gotten to know him and become close to him, close enough to call him a friend. There had been a rough patch because of what happened in New York but that didn't erase their history together. And it's because of that history that she knows that the look on his face means something.
She walked over to the side of the bridge, making sure that she was far away from Mark to not startle him out of his trance, before looking over the edge. Addison doesn't notice anything unusual at first as the hospital lobby looks like it does any other day. In the seating area were families fidgeting in their seats, picking at the armrests as they waited, desperate for any news on their loved ones. The nurses stations were buzzing with activity, some typing on the computer, some jotted down notes as they updated charts, and others were walking to different patients as they talked to doctors to update them on the patient's latest status. Doctors passed through, jogging to make their way to their operations or to patients who needed their attention.
With nothing catching her eyes, Addison looks to Mark again and carefully follows his eyesight to the last group in the lobby: the interns. The interns had split into smaller groups - Izzie and George were whispering to each other while you, Christina, and Alex were talking - as you all waited for Meredith. But it's not the whole group that Mark is staring at. No, the soft look in his eyes is directed at you.
Addison watches as his eyes follow your every move, as you gesture to the duo as you tell them about the surgery you assisted in - if she's interpreting your gestures correctly. She raises an eyebrow when she notices Mark's grip on the railing tightens slightly when Alex leans closer to your ear and whispers something to you. Neither one of them can hear what is being said but they can hear your reaction as you push Alex away while you throw your head back in a loud laugh.
Having seen enough to make her own deduction, Addison makes her way to Mark. He doesn't notice her presence as he continues to stare down at you.
"You've also changed."
Mark is startled out of gazing and turns his head to look at her. At his questioning look, she nudges her head toward you and his eyes dart over to you before meeting her gaze once more.
"You sleep with many people and flirt with even more, making it clear that there are no strings attached but," she gestures to you, "I can see the string here."
Mark gets off of the railing and shakes his head. "It's not like that. We're just—"
Addison gives him a look and Mark pauses, letting out a sigh. "I don't know what this is. It's different from what I've felt before but I don't know." He shakes his head. Even though he tries to stop himself, his eyes search for you once more and he watches you and the rest of the interns, now that Meredith has finally joined you all, make your way to the exit. He can't help the smile that shows when he sees you smiling as well.
A faint smile grows on Addison's face at the tender look on Mark's face appears once more. This is a different side to Mark, one that she never knew existed but is happy to see. "Change isn't a bad thing. You should embrace this feeling. It looks good on you."

Being Mark Sloan's Little Sister and Having Lexie Grey Crushing On You Would Include...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Requested by anon
Before starting at Seattle Grace, you sat down with your brother and asked him what working there is like
You force him to be nicer to the interns
Lexie had a huge crush on you, but decided not to say anything because you were Mark's sister
She would pretty much run away as soon as she saw you
Asking Mark about how Lexie's behaving, only to have him smirk and tell you to figure it out yourself
Lexie will find out what your favorite food is and drop it by your locker
If you have a longer shift, she'll help figure out how to make you feel better
When you ask your coworkers who's leaving things at your locker, they'll snicker
Starting to date after you finally figure out she's the one leaving food for you
After pretty much everyone found out you were together, Mark will always whistle when he sees you

just visiting
♡ pairing: alex karev x female! reader
♡ genre: angst to fluff
♡ warnings: small season 9 spoilers (plane crash) & family issues
♡ part two, part three, part four, special scenes
♡ check out my grey's anatomy masterlist here
going back to seattle will never be one of your plans. but, your mother had to pick seattle as one of the destinations for your so called family road trip.
to add more, you had to stay in town for a few days. it's not like you hate the city.
it's where you've met your soulmate. your person, alex.
but when you were on your last year residency, you had to leave. not only because of all the crisis that hit seattle grave mercy west that time, you were also offered a job at hopkins, your dream hospital. to start your fellowship.
fortunately, alex was also offered to start a fellowship there.
but, the plane crash happened.
he couldn't just leave the hospital. especially with what happened to arizona.
"you can't be for real y/n." he said following you onto your shared bedroom.
he proposed that morning and now, you're packing your stuff up.
"we said we'd stay!"
but, now you can't.
"is this about your family y/n? is that why you can't answer me? i swear if they're talking crap about me again i'll–"
"you want to know how they're treating me because of us?" stopping at by the doors.
"you know about this. alex i–"
"and yet you listen to them huh." scoffing at what you said.
"if you walk out of that door, we're done y/n."
after five years, you were back. you convinced yourself you were just visiting and checking the sights you never seen or had the chance to see when you were still living in the city.
you were on your hotel room when your four year old boy, lucas, who just came back from a walk with your parents suddenly threw up on the carpet.
"i don't feel good mama."
you called for an ambulance and of course it brought you to where you started your career as a doctor.
as your son was brought in the emergency room. one of your former colleague and a very close friend noticed you.
"y/n?"
"meredith!"
she walked towards you. "how are you? and you've got a kid!" she said hugging you.
"i'm fine, mer." you replied, hugging her back.
"are you staying long?"
"does alex—" she was interrupted when your son started to cry and vomit again.
you came back to his side and started to rub his back for comfort.
"no. he doesn't know i'm here." you replied shortly.
"just so you know he's the one on-call on peds today."
"and let's catch up after work." with that she hugged you again before going back to her patient.
while waiting for the doctor on-call to come down. you made the time to pray that it's arizona or another doctor will come down.
"where's the–" he stopped in the middle of the emergency room.
he certainly did not expect you to be somewhat in seattle. and of course, he did not expect for you to have a kid.
he saw the way you were talking to the child. promising something which made the kid smile. but shortly after, the kid reached for the basin and vomited again.
from that, he got out of his daze and walked towards the two of you.
"how are you feeling little champ?" he said standing on the bedside.
"i don't like it." he said turning himself towards you.
alex looked at you and asked you what happened. "he was fine before he went out with my parents. he said he ate something from the sea."
"from the sea huh." alex said examining your kid.
"i tried to ask which is it but he's really not in the mood to be specific." you said brushing his hair out of his face.
after alex looked at him more "he's already getting fluids and i already ordered some meds but i'd like to keep him overnight for observation."
you agreed. "y/n i–" he was interrupted when lucas started to call for you.
"i'll check up on him again later." he said before letting himself out of the emergency room.
after settling in and calling your parents. you had the chance to take a breather. walking in the halls with some of the staff recognizing you. you finally reached the cafeteria.
"can we talk?" alex's voice came from behind. you motioned for him to take the vacant seat in front of you.
"so...you've got a kid huh." he said starting the conversation.
"yeah. he's smart and funny..."
"i met him three years ago from a program we did back at boston. and instantly fell in love with him. can't believe that i'd be falling in love an infant though." both of you letting out a laugh.
"you know, i waited for you text or something." he spoke again.
"i waited over there too." you said smiling sadly at him.
"so you're the chief of peds surgery now huh." you said pointing at his coat. "yeah. robbins gave me the job, so she can do neonatal."
"are you staying?"
you stood up from the table before answering. "we're just visiting."
after that talk with alex, you went back to lucas' room. he's finally asleep after vomiting all afternoon.
"you can go back to the hotel and rest up." sitting at the end of the bed. "lucas' doctor, karev. isn't he that ex-boyfriend of yours?" your father asked as they were gathering their things.
"it's a good thing you listened to us cause you're doing way better than him, i mean have you seen him? hopkins is way better than this–"
"can we drop this conversation dad?" you said sighing as took as seat beside your child's bed.
"i'm just saying that you're doing way better than–" with your father not dropping the subject, it made you mad. all those years of torment of them hearing how great you are now just because you listened to them and left seattle.
"do you think i was fine after i left this hospital? i listened to everything the both of you said because i can't bear how you were treating me."
"the only good thing that happened to me over there is lucas! and don't think i didn't know what you said about me adopting him cause i–" you received a slap from your mother.
"how dare you speak to your father like that? we were only looking out for you and you adopting a kid you just saw at a program was–"
"out. i've heard enough." your mother protesting woke up lucas. "mama... where's grandma and grandpa going?"
"the-they're going home sweetie. we'll just visit them after we go home tomorrow okay?" rushing to his side so you could help him go back to sleep.
after your parents left, meredith was standing by the door. "are you okay? cause this is just my cup of tea y/n, i mean, mommy and daddy issues?"
laughing from what she said, you let her take a seat on the chair by bedside. "so you heard the whole thing."
"pretty much."
"well, hopkins was great. but you know, this place was my home, mer." sighing, and thinking that all of the things that happened today made you tired enough for days.
"i could hire you." she said nonchalantly. "are you serious?" you said in disbelief.
"you don't think i'm serious? i kinda own this place now."
"we could head down and sign the contract." looking at her, checking to see if she's really saying the truth.
"no. i–i can't." standing up and hushing your child as he started to turn again. "why? is it alex?"
"it's kinda stupid but yeah."
"what's stupid is the both of you are still in love with each other and you're not together."
"pretty sure he moved on mer. the minute i walked out on him. we were done." you said getting a cup of water and some apple slices which you presume was for your child.
"no. he still loves you."
"i left him after he proposed mer."
meredith stopped at what she was about, shocked at what she's hearing. "he proposed?"
"then i left him." you sternly added. "so that's why he always have this small box on his coat or pocket."
"what?"
"i think you weren't supposed to know that." she suddenly changed the topic about you and your program at hopkins and it turned to how you met your kid and how she loves her kids. just the both of you catching up.
the next day, meredith came back to check on the both of you for the third time. "are you sure you don't want to work back here, cause i told bailey and she's more than glad to have you back."
"mer–"
"we're moving here mama?" your kid said looking up from where he was playing with his toys.
"do you want to live here, sweetheart?" meredith asked him as she sat beside him.
"can we live near auntie mer?" lucas asked too excited. meredith looked at you with a smug grin on her face.
"bailey has an offer that tops hopkins." she said as she started to play with your kid again.
"fine. i'll talk to bailey, but i don't promise anything."
"i'll take it."
you didn't know how she convinced you to talk to bailey about your job here. but boy, meredith and bailey pulled out the big guns.
"look, i love the offer dr. bailey, but i just got here yesterday and–"
"we'll keep the position open for you dr. y/l/n, it would be really great to have you back with us." with that, you left the office wondering how you and lucas would be happier here.
to your surprise, alex was the one playing with your child.
"hey, where's aunt mer?" asking as you walked in. "she has a person to cure, mama." your kid said not looking up.
"you're mama's back now, champ. i'm going now." alex said as he ruffled lucas' hair. "don't go! i love playing with you!"
"baby i'm sure dr. alex has some patients to cure too." your kid started to have tears forming on his eyes, but he tried his best not to let one tear out.
"how about we, uhh--" you can't find a pretty good excuse for lucas to feel better.
"hey how about this. you and you're mom are going home in a few hours, right?" alex asked and he nodded. "you play with your mama first, and i'll come back after curing my patients?" lucas looked at you for a signal and you smiled at him which he took and nodded at alex. "you promise uncle alex?"
alex was quite taken aback by the way he called him. the whole time the both of you were around, he always called him by 'dr. alex'
"yeah. i'll be quick."
you mouthed thank you at alex and went to your kid's side, starting to play with him.
"ma?"
"yes?" the both of you are now eating your lunch, well you're doing most of the eating.
"auntie mer said uncle alex is special to you." almost choking at what he said, you tried to hide the coughing. "she told you that?"
sipping water trying to compose yourself. "h-he is, sweetheart."

The Look
Tumblr media
Title: The Look
Pairing: Meredith Grey x Reader
Prompt: 10. Somebody taking an off-guard picture of you staring at each other, completely in love.
R
WC: 957
Whenever Y/n had walked into the hospital, everybody was talking and whispering about something. She was pretty sure that nothing was going on that day out of the ordinary. There weren't supposed to be any new faces, which was usually the only time whenever the hospital staff got like that. Something had to have happened with people who already work there. Y/n had been trying hard to be above the gossip, so she refrained from asking around about what was going on. Instead, she focused on her research project that she was working on with Dr. Grey. If there was one place where the gossip was unlikely to spread, it was the lab where everybody was focused and on their absolute best behavior. They had another grant proposal coming up and wanted that money to finish their project.
"Oh my god, they are so doing the thing," Amelia muttered. Y/n glanced over to where Amelia and a few of the other doctors on the project were looking over test results. Y/n's job was essentially to run the equipment and administer the tests. She didn't understand what everything on those result papers meant, but nobody else could really use the machine like she could. It balanced things out. Y/n was finally a valued member of a team instead of the doctor that they sent to do the easy work because of her specialty. It wasn't useful in most scenarios, but medical school had never really been Y/n's plan. She had always been a mechanics and engineering person.
"That look is so cute," one of the interns muttered. Amelia nodded in agreement, and Y/n tried to ignore them. Meredith was doing a much better job than Y/n was. Meredith wanted to know how to use the machine, so she spent most of her time in the lab leaning over Y/n's shoulder watching her work. Y/n liked the proximity of Meredith to her. There was something about Meredith that made Y/n feel calm. Y/n felt like she did her best work underneath Dr. Grey's watchful eye.
"They're chatty today," Meredith whispered as she pointed to the files that she wanted Y/n to open up for her. Y/n let Meredith look over the older results to compare them to the newer ones. There had been vast improvement with quite a few of the patients, something that made Y/n so proud of herself and everybody they worked with. They were on the verge of figuring out how to improve people's lives for the better. Deterioration of the mind would no longer be the horrid thing that it was for so many people in the world anymore.
"Everybody has been chatty, since I walked this morning. I wonder what's going on?"
"The pictures from the promotional shoots that Bailey and Webber decided to do arrived. I'm surprised nobody talked to you about it, apparently you're the most photogenic person here," Meredith said with a small smile. Y/n let out a little huff of air. She wanted to be better than to need to look at the stupid pictures, but now she was curious. Y/n glanced up at Meredith with her best puppy dog eyes and pout before she even started to ask Meredith if she could go to the website to look at the pictures. "Go ahead, I know there's some of me in there too. I need to make sure that I look good."
Y/n pulled up the hospital's website and looked at the new image gallery that had been added. All of the pictures looked good, and were mostly generic shots of things going on at the hospital. It wasn't until Y/n stumbled upon a picture of her staring at Meredith with the biggest set of heart eyes she had ever seen that she realized what all the gossip was about. Everybody had seen the way that Y/n looked at Meredith, her secret was out. She was about to become the laughing stock of the whole hospital because she had a big, stupid crush on Meredith Grey.
"I love this picture of you. You look so focused and passionate. I wish that everybody felt this way about the things they were working on. The world would be a much better place," Meredith said. She glanced down at Y/n and smiled, which did help to relax Y/n a little. "Do you remember what you were doing?"
"You were trying to explain to me what the first bunch of results meant. If I'm being honest, I don't think I was paying attention to a word that you said," Y/n admitted. Meredith blushed as she scrolled to the next picture. They were pretty run of the mill, until they got to a picture that had been taken in the lab while Meredith was watching over Y/n at the computer. Y/n looked a little wild as she explained what she was doing with the next set of tests, but it was Meredith that Y/n couldn't stop staring at. In that picture, Meredith was looking at Y/n just like Y/n had been looking at her earlier. "Do you spend all day staring at me back there?"
"Not all day, but I will admit that sometimes my eyes drift a little," Meredith said. Y/n's boldness ended there, but Meredith's had just begun to pick up. "I'd love to look at you some time outside of this room. This angle is nice and all, but I think you'd better sitting across from me at a candlelight dinner."
"Dr. Grey, you sure do know how to make a woman swoon."

It Will Get Better (Grey's Anatomy)
Grey's Anatomy
It wasn't that bad. That's what you told yourself each time. But as the excuses start piling up, Amelia Shepherd can't deny what's in front of her any longer and tries to convince you that it was bad enough to finally do something.
Warnings: Domestic Violence/Abuse
Requested = Yes
Y/L/N = Your Last Name
WOW it has been a hot second. A very hot second. A burning second. Maybe I'm back? I'm so sorry to all the other requests that I just haven't gotten to but I'm going to try to make an effort to write more again.
Tumblr media
Sometimes you felt stupid.
Here you were, a well accomplished and respected surgeon with a soaring career, yet you just couldn't seem to leave.
Sometimes, you would stop and wonder why you couldn't.
Because you loved him.
Because he loved you.
Sometimes you would convince yourself that you would leave. That when night came and he fell asleep, you'd pack a bag and walk out the door. Of course, that never happened, because each time, you'd convince yourself that it was your fault.
You upset him. You shouldn't have picked a fight with him. You deserved what he did to you.
That he was a good man. That he was going to change.
That he loved you.
After an especially rough night, you woke up groaning. Your body was on fire, resisting every move you made. Aching, you managed to get yourself to the bathroom and in the mirror, you examined the damage.
"Shit..." You cursed softly as your fingers traced the blaring purple splotch along your cheek.
This was going to be difficult to cover.
Sighing, you rinsed your face off with cold water and wiped it dry before pulling out your makeup bag. The bruise was already vibrant and you knew that make up wouldn't make it completely disappear. But you were hoping that between the light and the angle, you could make it work.
It was a routine you were all too familiar with.
~~~
"Y/L/N!"
You turned around, looking up from your patient's chart to see a grinning Amelia Shepherd walking towards you.
"Just the person I was looking for," Amelia grinned, her smile infectious.
Amelia Shepherd was the first person you met when you first started working at Grey Sloan after transferring from your previous hospital. She quickly became the first friend that you made too. Realistically, you trusted Amelia with your life.
"I feel like I haven't seen you around much," Amelia commented. "We should do something on a day off, I need some Y/N time."
You chuckled and agreed despite knowing that you would never spend time with your colleagues outside of work because he would never let you.
"What can I do for you?" You asked and began walking towards the nurse's station. Your body still protested every movement though and you couldn't help but let out a soft groan.
Amelia eyed you carefully but let it slide, "I just need a consult."
You nodded and she pulled up the scans, eyes still trained on your expression for any kind of sign of discomfort.
As you carefully examined the scans on Amelia's tablet, you could feel her gaze trained on your face and you felt yourself staring harder at the tablet than necessary.
However, just when you thought you could get away with it, Amelia spoke up before you could open your mouth.
"What happened there?" Amelia softly asked, her hand reaching to your cheek.
You instinctively flinched and Amelia's hand paused before she lowered it.
"Y/N?"
You blushed, "Don't worry about it Amelia, I'm just clumsy and slipped. I hit my face against the table."
Amelia, of course, was not convinced but she sensed the anxiety in your body and let it slide.
"You would let me know if something was wrong right?" Amelia quietly asked and you nodded before forcing a smile on your face.
"Of course I would."
You felt sick lying to Amelia through your smiling teeth but there was a heavy weight in your stomach that made you do it.
He loved you.
~~~
You made a conscious effort to avoid Amelia after that close call. It hurt your heart to do so but you couldn't risk it. You took longer routes to get to places in the hospital when you could. You avoided break rooms that she was in.
Amelia knew you were avoiding her too. She let you have your space for a while but when it became clear that you weren't going to let up any time soon, she began to try to reach out to you.
It was one missed call. Then two. Then you stopped answering texts. You contemplated blocking her altogether but couldn't bring yourself to do it.
One evening after a long shift, you let yourself melt into the comfort of your couch, your partner watching the Seahawks game next to you.
Your phone sounded and you glanced at your screen to see a text message from Amelia. Sighing, you closed your phone and turned it face down on the coffee table.
But it didn't stop.
A series of text messages resulted in a series of dings but as you were reaching out to grab your phone to silence it, your partner's arm pushed past you and ripped your phone off the coffee table.
"What the fuck is so important that it's interrupting the game," He grumbled and looked at the screen. "Amelia?"
"My coworker," You quickly responded. "She's probably just asking about a patient."
He eyed you and you thought you were going to get away with it until his glare hardened.
"Prove it."
You gulped knowing that Amelia's text messages weren't about a patient. Your heart raced as you stumbled for an excuse but your hesitation was more than enough for him to lash out at you.
You weren't sure how long it would have lasted had your pager not gone off. Maybe the whole night for all you knew. Mumbling that you needed to be more transparent with him, he backed off, leaving you to pick yourself up off the floor.
Your body screamed in protest as you gathered yourself as quickly as possible before rushing off to the hospital. A massive trauma had come in and they needed all hands on deck. On your way out, you managed to pop two Advils into your mouth before grabbing your bag.
As you drove to the hospital, your mind raced with excuses to explain the growing bruises on your skin. You knew that in the moment, the hospital would be too busy to question the blotches but the aftermath would be an interrogation.
~~~
Exhausted and burning, you had finally made it through all the surgeries and now all the patients were in recovery. As you closed your eyes, you let yourself relax into the couch in the break room, a steaming cup of tea in your hands.
You felt someone sit down next to you and you didn't need to open your eyes to confirm it was Amelia.
"Let me guess, you fell again?" Amelia spoke softly and you knew it wasn't actually a question.
She knew.
You couldn't bring yourself to say anything. To lie and deny what she knew. To tell the truth and confirm what she knew. You felt your throat tingle as a lump formed and a tear silently escaped your closed eyes.
"You don't need to keep doing this," Amelia said and gently placed her hand on your arm.
You still didn't respond and Amelia took the cup out of your hands before placing it on the table with a soft clink.
"Y/N, look at me," She said but your eyes remained closed.
"Y/N."
Reluctantly, you opened your eyes even though one was beginning to swell shut.
"You deserve better," Amelia spoke with conviction, her gaze focused on your eyes. "It's not your fault, it was never your fault."
You swallowed and shook your head softly, "I can't."
"Yes you can," Amelia said. "You can. I will be here the entire time but you just have to trust me. It will get better if you just trust me on this one."
"He loves me." You replied but your voice quivered.
Amelia's heart broke at your words, "Y/N, this isn't love. Love doesn't hurt like this."
The singular tear that had slipped through your eyes seemed to have been an invitation for the others to follow as your body began to shake with each sob.
Slowly, Amelia wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you close to her side before stroking your hair.
"I promise Y/N, it will get better," She whispered. "You deserve so much better."
You closed your eyes again and took a deep breath as the tears kept dripping down your cheeks.
"Okay," You mumbled back. "I trust you."
— °˖ ⊹ ꒰ 🌿 ꒱ tearing up old wounds ; addison montgomery (grey’s anatomy)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#.                   ( season 3 episode 14 ) you woke up after inhaling the neuro toxic from the colon cancer patient’s surgery, and addison was stupid enough to run in after the patient’s anesthesia was wearing off, ripping up bandages from old wounds
content warning;      suggestive content, afab reader, implied homewrecker! reader, age-gap (reader is in the same intern year as meredith), mention of surgeries, blood, intubation,
a/n.                                        I had this little idea while rewatching the show, I fell in love with addison all over again, ugh she is so hot- enjoy
Tumblr media
everything was foggy, you still felt nauseous, you were still shivering even under the thick blanket, and the oxygen mask on your face felt more suffocating than the heavy feeling in your chest. blinking, moving your head around and trying to figure out where the heck you are.
“I thought you were on burk’s service today.” you heard an all too familiar voice coming from your side, faint, and sort of mumbled, but you knew who it was, you knew exactly who it was. you felt weak, struggled to move your hand up to your face to rub your eyes, to help yourself to see better.
“you went in there…” you croak, taking a shaky breath in as you spot her green eyes in the haze of your vision. you gulp again, trying to compensate for how dry your nose and mouth feel because of the oxygen mask. she is right in front of you, if you could just
you can tell by her blurry appearance and her messy red hair. she looks so tired and worn out, like every muscle in her body aches, just like yours does, and just like that realization makes you wonder if maybe you should have requested to stay on her service, maybe this whole thing wouldn't have happened with the two of you. “I did.” she whispers, her throat hoarse and scratchy.
“but i couldn't watch her suffer, fight against the intubation like that..."  her voice trails off, and her hand reaches out for you, as if she wants to touch your face, caress your cheek but can't bring herself to do it. "i couldn't let her feel so scared, miserable." she sits up and leans on the bed next to you, reaching out to tuck some strand of hair behind your ear. “what do you mean?” you ask, not understanding whatever she is hinting at. you'd know because you were in her position once after your surgery, the surgery you had to get after a psych patient went rogue, dressing up as another surgeon then going around, and stabbing people in the stomach.
but then you remember-
she was there when you were fighting against the intubation, you remember it clearly. the same green eyes were staring at you, frightened above the rim of the surgical mask. the same lips formed the words, "you will be okay," over and over again. you try hard not to cry as you recall the events, because even though you are happy, you're also afraid.
"can we... can you lay next to me?"  you finally manage to say, because you're starting to become restless from being trapped under this blanket, sitting still isn't really appealing anymore. "of course, i'm here darling." she smiles softly, and you could swear you're seeing her tears glisten in the dim light of the room.
addison shifts in her bed again, putting the green strap around her head then getting up to lay next to you on your bed. you catch doctor bailey rolling her eyes at the nurse's station before coming over and closing the curtain around the two of you.  your breathing has gotten steadier, your heart feels calmer, and you close your eyes slowly as you settle into her embrace, inhaling deeply the scent of her scrubs, smelling like a freshly sterilized operating room.
her heartbeat slows down to match the beat of your own and you sigh contently, relaxing in her arms. “thank you.” you whisper quietly. she kisses the top of your head. you don’t think there is anything she wouldn’t give to make sure you are alright. “no need to thank me, sweetheart.” she murmurs softly, wrapping her arm around you tighter. your fingers are laced together now, her thumb rubbing soothing circles on your skin.
Photograph of A World on Fire (4) - Andy Herrera x DeLuca!Sister!Reader - Station 19/Grey's Anatomy
Summary: The world might be on fire with a pandemic happening, and you and Andy face loss after loss, but the two of you stick together and become even closer through it all.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Request: hey 💓 could you write a deluca!sister x amelia fic where r is a cheeky italian which puts amelia in gay panic mode x
A/n: this diverts from canon like a curly wurly chocolate bar, also mentions a one night stand, there's no smut but it's alluded to, so, read at your own risk, and don't ask me where this happens in canon, because that will give me another headache:) (i gave myself that headache and followed canon slightly... ooof, warning, canon character death incoming)
A/n: to whoever reads this, you are important.
Andy found out her mother was alive, and then three weeks later, a pandemic set the world on fire.
Andy's mother left, and her father told her that her mother had died, rather than her mother had abandoned her due to mental illness.
Your brother and sister were determined to quarantine away from you, and with Andy in a bubble at the firehouse, you were isolated from everyone.
Andy had enlisted herself in distracting herself about her mother by going to an art store, masked up with a list of supplies for you so you could keep making your art from home. Andy didn't know you had gotten out of the car, sitting on the bonnet with your camera, photographing the empty streets.
You didn't know it was the start of one of two projects during the pandemic that would make your career flourish, as you sat in your black attire, watching the funeral of Pruitt Herrera, that due to the pandemic had to be done online. Watching as Andy spoke, you couldn't hide the love in your eyes for this woman. This woman of fire. Your fiamma.
///
Your brother sat on your porch as you sat in the hallway, talking to each other through an open door.
"I found inspiration, for two big projects."
"Two big projects? Wow, that's amazing, angioletta. I hope I get to see them before Carina." Andrew smiled, the pride in his eyes obvious.
"Oh she'd be so mad!" You laughed, remembering the last time Andrew had seen your artwork before Carina did, and how jealous she got despite trying to hide it.
"How's your girlfriend?" Andrew threw you off, almost dropping your snack on the carpet in surprise at his question, but you took a moment before replying.
"She is at a family picnic for the first time in twenty years, and I didn't want to impose y'know. Plus, everyone is so determined to quarantine, I'm isolated from everyone and everything, but my art." You admitted, spotting the sad look on your big brother's face at your confession. You were feeling lonely.
///
"It probably won't help if I tell them that I have a girlfriend too." Andy admitted to her cousin Michelle, whose eyes lit up at Andy's admittance.
"You do? Tell me everything!"
"She's an artist, with two older siblings, who are both doctors, but she is my saving grace in this, this cruel world." Andy confessed, getting her phone out to show her cousin a photo of you, and some photos of your art.
///
Your phone buzzed as Vic sent you a video, getting your brother's attention as you gasped.
"There, there was a tiger, in the firehouse... a tiger... that's not totally terrifying!" forwarding the video to your brother, who checked his phone.
///
Fiamma: you don't have any vagina art, do you?
Cariño: that's more my sister's interior design style...
Cariño: good luck to Maya
///
"You know, on the nights we don't have dinner together. I eat canned green beans for dinner, out of the can." Andy confessed as she watched you stand over the hob, stirring your wooden spoon into something that smelt amazing.
"Fiamma, that's disgusting."
///
Andrew's text sent horror through your body as you read it. He and Carina were following a human trafficker. And nobody was answering their phone. Not Andrew, not Carina, not Andy, and not even Maya. Miranda and Ben weren't answering either, so you ran out of your house, tracking your big sister's phone as you got in your car.
Your brother was good, he was stable, taking his meds, getting sleep. Your sister had moved in with Maya, she was happy as she could be without missing Italy and stressing over your father.
Warren and Maya began to call you as Ben read your message, realising you were going after your big siblings.
///
"Announcement! Uh, Carina and her brother Andrew are... well... they're following one of the kidnappers, and uh, Y/n is going after her siblings apparently so..." Maya nervously explained, about to tell Andy off for hurriedly getting her phone but Warren shook his head.
"Probably going to call Y/n. They're, they're friends."
///
"Carina, Andrew, there's something you should know. Y/n is on her way to you, I'm guessing nobody's kept your little sister in the loop."
"Angioletta? No, she could get hurt. How does she know where we are?" Carina began to panic, hearing what Maya said.
"She's probably tracking our phones." Andrew deadpanned, knowing it was too late to stop you.
///
You knew they were at the Seattle Transit Station, running as you spotted Carina heading through the doors of the station. Speed-walking after your siblings, you barely made it onto the train before the doors shut, quickly making your way up the carriage until you landed in the seat next to Andrew, sandwiching him in the middle of you and Carina.
"What are you doing-"
"You both scared me. Plus nobody knows who I am so..." you trailed off, whispering in Italian to obscure your words to any non-Italian speakers.
The three of you watched as another passenger stood up and moved away from the three of you.
"My first time being profiled as an Italian."
///
"Stay back, angioletta." Carina whispered, as your siblings stood up to follow the human trafficker off of the train.
"Go find Ben and the police, I'm not losing her again." Andrew instructed, leaving Carina to nod and get out her phone. That was Carina's mistake as she took her eyes off of you, who ran after her big brother like she did when she was a toddler.
But Carina lost sight of you both, stuck rallying the first responders. She didn't see what you saw. The man barge into your big brother, and stab him.
"NO! Help! Help! Call 911!" You screamed loud enough that Carina heard you, hurrying over to see you putting pressure on a stab wound. A stab wound in your big brother's chest.
"We're here, we're here!" you sobbed, as Warren got your brother on a gurney, Maya holding back Carina as you curled up on the floor, hands covered in your brother's blood.
Carina cleaned your hands as you sat numbly in the back of the aid car, Maya and Ben treating your brother, and Carina recalling songs from your childhoods to soothe your brother's pain.
///
Sitting in the Grey Sloan outdoor waiting room, you were numb as you saw the look in the approaching doctor's eyes.
Your brother was dead.
///
In grieving, Carina shut down, but you threw yourself into your art projects. Carina had Maya to keep an eye on her, but you...
Andy was there for you. Andy was there when you didn't sleep at night, staring at a blank canvas until you started to paint, she sat and watched you. You didn't want to talk, your big brother was your lifeline.
"Okay, I know your French toast is better, and so is Carina's, but it's the only thing I know how to make for breakfast." Andy explained, bringing a tray into your spare room aka your art room at this point.
"Looks delicious." You managed to smile, but Andy was taken off guard as you pulled her into a hug, burying your face in her neck and not letting go.
"I'm acting captain today... are you sure you'll be okay alone?" Andy asked, her fingernails running gently over your scalp as she cradled your head.
"I have food and water. I just want to paint my grief, because I don't know how else to express it. Talking doesn't work, talking makes me miss him, even if he's with our mama now." You replied, but Andy saw the look on your face when you spotted the red paint on the palette. She didn't see how it reminded you of your brother's blood on your hands as you sat in the aid car, numb and hoping it wasn't his time.
Your siblings may have called you angioletta, little angel, but your brother was the angel among you now.
Your mother called Andrew and Carina two halves of a whole, but you needed both of them. You were away from Carina for so long growing up, all you had was your brother.
Now he was gone, Carina was stuck with the paperwork, and you buried yourself in your art. Minus any red paint, which Andy had removed after seeing the far away look on your face at the sight of it.
///
Carina called you hours later, asking if you had spoken to your father at all. You hadn't, but somehow he had heard two days ago that your brother died, and he didn't call either of you.
Andy found you sitting on your porch on her return home, in the spot where your brother had once sat, with a portfolio she hadn't seen before in your hands.
"Andrew was supposed to be the first person to see my projects, but he's..." you trailed off, opening the first page to reveal the photographs you had taken of empty Seattle streets.
"I've never seen Seattle so empty."
"Exactly." You let out a wet chuckle, holding back your tears until Andy met your gaze with a faltering smile at your crying.
///
Maya Bishop: A Doctor Gabriella Aurora just turned up here
Y/n DeLuca: you'll be okay, it's been a long time since medical school, trust me.
Maya Bishop: Come over and help me?
Y/n DeLuca: i'm having dinner with my girlfriend tonight. i'm cooking too.
Maya Bishop: Girlfriend?
*left on read 4:21pm*
///
"You know your sister has a girlfriend?" Maya enquired as she walked through the Grey Sloan car park with Carina, hand in hand.
"I assumed she had someone living with her. She had two mugs out when I surprised her one morning, and someone gave her a neck bruise."
"A hickey?" Maya raised an eyebrow, wondering how long you and whoever it was had been dating.
"Yes, a hickey. My sister is not a fan of double dates though." Carina added before Maya could get any ideas.
///
"I still haven't met your girlfriend. I even met your ex-roommate before I met her." Andy's cousin Michelle pointed out, after pointing out how Andy had gone to every barbecue and not brought you with her.
"My girlfriend lost her brother and her sister is very protective and doesn't want her getting the virus... and we still haven't told her sister we're dating, or that I moved in so..." Andy trailed off as Michelle's eyes widened.
"Oh so it's serious?"
"She's my saving grace."
///
"My visa expires next month." Carina explained to you, making you flinch. You and Andrew had citizenship, but Carina was here on a visa for her study.
"You have to go back to Italy? They shut down the immigration offices... Carina..."
"Angioletta..." Carina whispered, letting out a squeak as you pulled her into a tight hug, fear setting in that you would lose the only family you had left in America.
///
Carina and Maya were unaware of how well you really knew Andy, until it came to your brother's memorial in the Grey Sloan car park.
Amelia wasn't there, even if she had mentored your brother for a time. You hadn't thought of the neurosurgeon in a long time, having removed all traces of her from your portfolio, your life and your memory.
Whilst Maya held Carina in the car park, you sat on the ground, holding your knees to your chest until arms wrapped around you, and Andy was almost cooing in Spanish, calming you as you clung to her, mask soaked with tears.
Neither of them had any time to judge, but both were unaware you and Andy really knew each other as more than friends. Any assumption they had was wrong. Andy and yourself were well acquainted.
You didn't hide your relationship with Andy. She was at the firehouse a lot, not wanting to bring covid home back to you, since Maya and Carina were further along in their relationship and when Andy had moved in with you, she tried her best to keep you safe.
Everyone wanted to protect you, but they were isolating themselves from you to try keep you safe.
One of your art projects had been inspired by frontline workers, gaining attention online as people wanted to buy the works, the money going to charities to support people during the pandemic... you were flourishing, and your big brother couldn't see it from anywhere but above, whilst your sister and your girlfriend could see it, and you, but chose not to as often.
Your second project reflected another side to the pandemic, photography of the empty streets, void of all life. Almost apocalyptic in a sense.
Andy spent more time with you than Carina did, but you and your sister handled grief differently.
The fire between you and Andy burned brighter than anything else. An eternal flame.
"What are you painting this time? Is that a heart on fire?" Andy peeked over your shoulder, her chin resting on it as her hands hovered over your waist, hesitant to touch in case she messed up your brushstrokes.
"It was supposed to be symbolic, fires of love? Eternal flame? I think I'm better at realism... the portraits reflect that." You shrugged, gesturing to the paintings on the other side of the room.
"You are the sweetest but your sister and Maya should be here in an hour, and you are wearing more paint than clothes." Andy pointed out, her eyes widening as you smirked, walking backwards to guide her to the shower.
"Maybe you should join me, to make sure I get all the paint off."
"I would like that very much, but we need to-" Andy began to point out the lack of time, but you shushed her as you leaned in, waiting until she met you halfway, the hour countdown until Maya and Carina's arrival forgotten about...
3 - A Sloan Date
Tumblr media
Part 4
Feisty Coffee Girl
Running my fingers through my hair I chuckled nervously feeling my face turn red with the interns watching our interaction. “I guess I’m meeting you for the second time, Mark Sloan.”
My entire body had frozen at that moment. I reached into my pocket of my coat drawing out my phone. Scanning through my phone contacts I saw that the number had called me when I had picked up my daughter from school. “You've been blowing up my phone for almost two weeks.”
“I thought you would have called me back by now if you were interested and most people I’m with are typically interested when we first meet.” Mark responded to me shoving his hands inside his coat pockets.
Christina spoke up first behind us. “You know the Mark Sloan.”
“Not really. We only met one time when I worked at the coffee shop.” I corrected her statement before she assumed we had a long past together when we didn't.
Meredith raised a brow. “So how did you two meet?”
“He wanted a coffee and I gave him a scone recommendation. That was basically all.” I looked at the girl.
Izzie finally rounded the nurse desk grabbing me by the back of my jacket pushing me away from the coffee guy. “You listen here Mr. You stay away from her. She doesn't want anything to do with you!”
“Woah Iz dial it down a bit would ya. Nothing happened.” I pushed my way around her, not clear on what she was so pushy about. He was a guy that we were meeting for the first time. He couldn't wrong me from our first meeting.
Mark smiled at me, sending me a wink. “Don’t worry she'd have to let me take her on first before we could ever get serious.”
I felt my face turning red at his words and it only got deeper when our gaze locked onto the other. I didn't feel up to dating at the moment. I had my daughter to think about first and foremost before anybody else. “Mark, I'll at least take you up on your offer to buy me a drink.” I finally spoke towards the plastics surgeon.
“Y/n!” Izzie gasped in disgust.
Waving my hand at her I focused on Mark. “What time were you thinking or what time do you get off of work?”
“How about a quarter to never.” Izzir growled behind me.
Mark put his hands in the pockets of his dark pants. “I'd say around 7. Does that work for you?”
“That’s fine with me.” I replied back.
Someone cleared their throat behind him and we saw an older black guy standing before us. “Dr. Sloan can I see you in my office?”
“Sure chief. I'll see you tonight, feisty coffee girl.” Mark sent me a wink following him to his office on the next floor of the hospital.
Another doctor walks over to our group that had styled black hair and soft eyes that met in Meredith’s direction but says nothing for a few minutes. The man finally did say something to the group though. “So. Who’s the feisty coffee girl?”
“That would be me.” I raised my hand moving away from Izzie, extending my hand to the guy. “Y/n, Y/n Stevens .”
“Derek Shepherd. Nice to meet you. Uh I'm sorry but do you know the kid driving the wheelchair through the hospital?” Derek introduced himself before my eyes went wide, turning around on my feet.
I jumped backwards away from him when a wheelchair came running past us and I instantly saw my daughter being the one driving it through the hospital area. “Uh sorry but I have to go. I’ll see you later, Izzie. Eve!” Chasing after her it took me a good few minutes before I had caught up with her and we made our way home since I had to get ready for my date with a doctor.
“Why can’t I come with you?” Everly asked me eating her chicken bites that I had made for her in the oven.
Slipping on my tenna shoes I was standing in my bedroom with the door open so we could still talk. “Because where mommy is going tonight isn't a place for kids. Don't worry we will spend the whole day together tomorrow to make up for it.” I told my young child looking at myself in the mirror. I hadn’t been on a date in forever.
“I'll get it!” The doorbell rang with Everly opening it revealing Caroline who closed it behind her.
She sat her bag down searching for me. “Y/n, I want to see your outfit before the date tonight!”
“Does this look too simple? It feels too simple but we're just supposed to go out for drinks. I mean it isn't helping this is my first date since I had Eve basically but-” I was cut off with my best friend raising a hand.
She eyed my outfit, which was some ripped blue jeans and a light orange lace shirt that was short sleeved. I left my hair down where I had curled the ends of it to look slightly cuter. “You look cute and he clearly found you attractive in your work uniform so you shouldn’t have to worry.”
“Okay I’ll choose to believe you.” I smiled, calling my daughter over. “Everly!”
She ran over to me when I lowered myself down to a knee hugging her before I left for the evening. “Promise me that you will be super good for Caroline while I am gone.” She looped her pinky with mine and I did the same making our promise. The bar that we were meeting at was near my apartment building so I could just walk down there. Walking down a few different streets I entered the bar seeing Mark sitting at one of the bar tables.
“There’s my feisty coffee girl.” Mark smirked when I sat down on the barstool across from him sitting my bag on the edge of the table. His eyes scanned over me not dropping the smirk. “You look cuter than you did in your work uniform.”
I blushed, snorting out a laugh. “I would hope so, Dr. Sloan.”
“Dr. Sloan, you don’t gotta call me that when we aren’t in the hospital. We’re on a first name basis aren’t we?” Mark smiled with a waitress bringing over two shots of tequila.
Picking up the glass I corrected my last statement. “My bad, Mark. But if we’re on a first name basis, call me Y/n.” We both raised our shot glasses and downed the drink yet I scrunch my nose at the bitter taste not used to doing strong alcohol.
“You okay, Y/n?” Mark asked, seeing the reaction on my face.
Covering my face with my freehand sitting my glass down on the table. When I got pregnant with Eve I didn’t have my first real drink until the day she went to elementary school. “Sorry tequila ain’t my thing.”
“We can go for something lighter. I ain’t picky especially if we can meet up again.” He met my gaze, waving the waiter over to get some different shots for us. We had done about four or five different shots just talking about his job and my job.
I wasn’t sure if I could tell him about my daughter yet. Most of the time when I did guys pretty much didn’t call me back after the date or just left during the date. If it was just me and Eve for a few more years I’d be somewhat okay with that. “You really want a second date. I didn’t think a simple coffee shop girl would impress a plastic surgeon.”
“You’re not a simple coffee girl, Y/n.” Mark sat his glass down reaching for my freehand laying on the table intertwining his with mine. “There’s something about you that interests me.”
I blurted out the question feeling embarrassed the second I said it. “You aren’t just saying that so I’ll sleep with you?”
“I’ll prove it.” He responded quickly back.
A curious look crossed my face. “How ya gonna do that?”
“While we keep going out I won’t sleep with anyone else. I won’t even mention it unless you want me too. Does that seem fair?” Mark squeezing my hand waiting for my response.
Squeezing his hand in mine I agreed to the offer not knowing what I was getting myself and my daughter at some point into. “Sounds like an interesting challenge. I accept it.” The night ended with him walking me back to my building and nothing more.
Comments really appreciated ❤️
Sister and Girlfriend
Pairing: Danny Duquette x sister!reader; Danny Duquette x Isobel Izzie Stevens
Summary: you like Izzie and so your brother
A/N: Daisy is a nick name Denny gave his sister; I think I am late(?) to write for Grey's Anatomy but like until 2 weeks ago I wasn't very interested in this show but now? Damn is good, way better than Chicago Med sorry I had to, maybe. Btw this one contains spoilers from the season2 finale and if you are like me that is just now watching it and you are not on season3 please don't read but if you are like everyone else I know, is save for you to read.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
You had been with Danny every step of the way, sacrificing your time to get him in and out every hospital in the country and every time it was just the same. Waiting and figting had started to be so tiresome for the both of you and Danny, he started to think that maybe God had other plans for him.
You were reading some tabloid, Danny was getting checked by a nurse when Dr. Bailey came inside the room followed by three interns.
"I hope seeing you here means they finally found you a heart" she said after saying hi to Danny.
"No offence, doctor, but I'm not a big fan of hospitals" he started with his usual stupid smile on. You rolled your eyes and got next to his best.
"She knows Denny. Doctor Bailey"
"Y/N how are you?" you shrugged it, meh as your answer was good enough for Miranda, especially since she had knew the Duquette siblings for a while now. "Okay, what do we know about Mr. Duquette?"
Denny didn't get a chance to the interns to talk that he started flirting with the blonde, you had to admit, she was very nice to look at but in that moment it was not the case to be all flirty and cheesy. You wanted to tell your brother but Miranda spoke for you, thanks Miranda, you noted for yourself.
"Danny Duquette, 36, admitted today for a heart transplant necessitated by a viral cardiomyopathy" Dr. Bailey asked her something, you didn't pay much attention, you knew what that meant, having heard it a couple of other times before it got stuck into your consciousness.
"That his heart is unable to fill and pump blood normally."
"That his heart is unable to fill and pump blood normally." you said under your breath. Denny looked at you for a moment before he was back at the blonde doctor with his stupid flirty smile on. You rolled your eyes once again that day.
It slipped your ears, the name of the doctor that was going to attend your brother, too occupied to lecture Denny in your mind. You wanted to tell him to act more like a proper patient and stop flirting with the doctor.
You saw the group leaving, for a second and that was your moment to talk to Denny about how he had to stop being so bold.
"You are making a mistake" you said. "I'm serious Denny, is a mistake and you should stop it before it gets out of control"
"Deisy come on, is harmless flirtying. Nothing is going to happen... I promise"
"Stick to your words or I'm going to kill you myself" he snorted at your threats as he always had done since he got sick. "I'm going to call mum. Do NOT flirt with your doctor mister, I'll know."
"Yes ma'am." he gave you the salute and tried to get comfortable in his new bed that year. He never noticed but everytime he stopped smiling you saw it. You were there to see how painfull it was for him this situation and you felt like a garbage sister, powerless and in need to do something even just a little.
The fresh air outside the hospital was a little blessing, staing inside the air started to feel saturated and everything felt so heavy: your head, your eyes, your bones and muscles. Everything felt like someone was crashing you under the weight of a giant rock, and knowing you had to call your mum was not making things better.
"Don't answer, please don't pick up th... Mum, hi. We could be better...yes, yes, is just a chek up so don't worry. No, I don't... mum listen is nothing too serious, Dr. Bailey visited him and for now is all doing... Yes, I'll say to Miranda you said hi, but listen... uhm uhm, okay fine just... Nevermind, I'll call you later. I love you, of course I'll tell Denny you love him" she hung up on you, as always. "Guess it would kill her to say I love you back"
"Problems?" a voice spoke behind you making you jump out of your skin. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you."
"Is okay" looking at her you recognised her from back in Denny's room. "you are dr..."
"Stevens, but you can call me Izzie if you like." pause. An embarazing silence feel between the two of you. "how do you know Duquette?" she asked to cut the tension that was growing by the seconds.
"I'm his sister, and about before I am very sorry. He thinks his problems could get him away with flirting with people"
"He does that a lot?" now that you thought about it, no. This was the first time Denny had been this bold with whoever was treating him and this was a surprise to you. "Is not like..."
"No, he actually never did that before. At least not in front of him but I guess I assumed. You had to take a minute recollecting your thoughts, closing your eyes you ran your fingers over them.
"You need some rest"
"No I'm fi... I guess I really do some good rest." but nontheless you didn't moved an inch, you were dying for some hours of good sleep but didn't want to stay away from your brother. "But what if something happens to him and I am not there?" you could feel your eyes starting to water, more and more. "I can rest tomorrow is okay. I need to stay with Denny as much as possible. See you inside Dr. Stevens." Izzie didn't even bother to correct you, it was not that big of a deal, she knew you had more important things to take care of.
It was during the third time that day that Izzie came to check up on Denny that you knew something was wrong, you had noticed Dr. Burke's expression in the hallway when he had called Stevens aoutside, that look on his face meant one thing: no heart available for Denny.
You scoffed and decided to take a walk around the hospital before your back was going to scream at you for how sore it was going to turn if you didn't move a little.
"Where are you going?" he sounded groggy and very weak, weaker than his usual but yet if he was at the hospital that meant it was way more serious than his usual.
"I need to move those babies if I don't want them to tingle for for ever." you joked, he scoffed before coughing. "Do I need to call someone?"
"No is nothing, go stroll around and bring me some decent food, better if is Dr. Stevens" you smiled at him saying you were going to do your best.
Izzie was the one that found you, she was your brother's doctor and she wanted to be the one breaking the news to you but you knew already, how couldn't you when Burke's face said it all?
Looking at her made it even more real, he didn't get the heart. Once again he was ripped off of a chance to start a new life, all over again. You wanted to cry, no, you needed to. It had been years since you let it all out and now you felt the need to do so.
"Here, if you need anything call me, even if it's not Denny related, I'll try my best to asnwer you" she said handing you her business card. You waited, just until she was back inside.
You were holding into the business card as your life depended on it, and you broke down. You started crying getting everyon's attention on you but you didn't care much right now. It really didn't matter what people had to say seeing you like that.
You felt it was yur fault, how was it possible other wise? Just the night before you had called Izzie and joked about how Denny was doing so fine.
"He doesn't want to see me anymore?" she had said laughing at her own words and you had faked being shocked telling your brother what a jackass he was being, not going to see a fine doctor as her? Unbelievable.
And now here he was, in the back of an ambulance while you were once again shaking, filled with anxiety to what was about to happen this time.
You followed the paramedics once on the site, one of them, you couldn't tell who, was shouting Denny's parameters. Some words, you could understand others just flew over your head as if they were nothing.
"YN?" turning around you saw Izzie
"I...we were... he was fine yesterday Izzie, he was cracking jokes and... now... Oh god Izzie please, help him. Please." few times you had begged for something, you didn't like to do that but in that situation you needed her help, you were useless for your brother.
"I'll do my be.." you couldn't handlet it anymore. Your legs started to feel like jelly and your head felt lighter in a second. You could tell you were going to faint. "Shit. Y/N? Y/N can you hear me? Alex come help me" that was the last thing you heard before loosing consciousness.
The bright white lights of the hospital were annoying, they were giving you a big headache that made you grumpy when you were not in the right situation to be that moody and grumpy.
"Where is Denny?" you only cared about your brother and nothing else, you didn't care if you had to regain your strenght or whatever you HAD to be next to Denny as soon as possible before it was too late "HELLO CAN SOMEONE ANSWER ME?"
"Ehy, easy tiger calm down"
"I will when somoene tells me where is my brother." sitting up you had to take a deep breath, your vision got blurry for a second. "So where is Denny Duquette?"
"They are running exams upstairs in..."
"Can you take me there?" the doctor wasn't answering and you were growing impatience by the seconds "you know what? I can go by myslef" leaving the bed was not a good idea, especially when you were trying to recover from fainting. Loosing a little bit of balance you almost fell onto the doctor.
"Okay, wait here." time started to go painfully slow, everything started moving in slow-motion and you felt like throwing up. It was so unfair what was happening but yet you had to see it coming, why on earth did you started to rest on your laurels? Why now? Nothing was different from your usual visits to the ER so why getting cozy now?
You had to get yourself back together, it was no time to show any sign of weakness not when your brother was in critical conditions.
The doctor was back pushing your way a wheelchair and helping you sitting there.
"Your ride is here ma'am"
"Is not time for chit-chatting, move now" you were never rude to people, but right now you didn't had the energies to have civil interactions with people that weren't Dr. Bailey, Burke, Izzie or your brother.
The walking upstairs seemed an infinite journey and the more you were away from Denny the more worried you were. You started to hyperventilate and in a closed space like an elevatore that was not good.
The doctor handed you a sachet, asking you to start breath in there before the situation got any worst. Following his orders you managed to bring your heart beat slowing down and so your breathing. You thanked him and finally you were on the right floor.
"Hi Y/N how are you doing? I've heard you fainted in front of the hospital" Preston was kind enought to ask how you were doing before saying anything about Denny's medical conditions.
"I had better days, how is..." Denny's machine started beeping in an allarming rate, Izzie was already inside when it happened, the doctor that was prior with you rushed inside followed by Bruke, you heard little to nothing about their conversation but you were sure it was a bunch of medical terms you couldn't understand even if you wanted to.
Nurses followed some minutes later working on the defibrillator and some minutes later they were using the paddles on him. First hit, first round of screaming. It wasn't enough, they went with a second shot and Denny was screaming once again, this time louder than before but at least this time his heart started to slow down his frenetic race, you could tell by the sound of the machine.
Wheeling inside the room Denny looked at you confused, why were you in a wheel chair?
"Are you trying to outstage me here? I'm the sick one of the family don't try and steal my spotlight" he joked making you and Izzie laugh a little.
"Nothing too serious, I just fainted when we arrived at the hospital no biggie" he gave you a little snort before going back to check on Izzie. She was working on his chart but still managed to lecture the both of you, saying how one day either one of you were going to give her a heart attack.
"Look at that my two girls stealing my thunder" there he was, back at cracking jokes left and right.
It had been a couple of months since the surgery, you had come to visit Denny at least once every day and thanked Izzie for staying on his side while you couldn't be there. During your visits Denny had talked to you about his scrabble games with the doctor and how he wanted to marry her.
"Dude you can't drop a bomb like this to me as if it was nothing" there was no way he told you like that, like it wasn't some very important decision. "but if you propose I would like to help you with preparations and stuff"
"Stuff? Really?"
"What? Is not like a cared too much to learn the proper terminology, but I am ready to do my best now that I know your plans for the future. Here" you covered him a little bit more, you didn't want him to feel cold, or maybe it was you that was cold. You didn't know, since Denny got sick you lived to make sure he was comfortable always every hour of the day.
Since the LVAD surgery your brother had more good days than bad ones but still on those no days it was very, very bad. He would yell at you and Dr. Stevens about he wanted nothing but just "walk to into the light" to which you and Izzie had tried multiple times to stop making him say nonsenses, but that only made him more angry at the two of you.
"I'm sorry" you had said sitting outside his room when you saw her leaving "he is usually not like that but.... all of this is just too much for him and he is getting tired to fight. I get it, but... I don't know what I would do without him. We made some promises. "
"I can imagine." she sat next to you "do you want to talk about your promises?"
"Nothing any other big brother is supposed to do, you know? Being overprotective, calling me every five minutes to know where I am and with who. He is supposed to scare away my dates, Izzie how can he do that if he is not there?"
"No, don't say that. He will get a new heart and he will recover faster than you can imagine. In no time he would be scaring away your dates while I tell him to chill out" she scoffed at her own words, she find it funny how she pictured herself with him outside the walls of the hospital.
"But we have to be realistic. He might not get a heart and even if he does he might not survive the transplant." silence. "Izzie? Am I a bad sister if I think he won't be able to survive?"
"No, you are not a bad sister"
It was the second time, you were sure you were calling it because it was not possible. It couldn't be. He had to get better, he had to be better becuase he had things to take care of. He had to marry Izzie and you had to help them with preparation and stuff; he had to scare your dates away and protect you; he had to recover and yet he didn't.
He was gone, just like that. He was doing fine and then, in a blink of an eye he was gone. He had walked into the damn white light to never come back.
"You can't do this to me Denny. For fuck sake man, you were supposed to stay by my side." You hoped it was one of his sick prank that he played on you to give you a heart attack and to fuel your trust issues even more. You hoped he was just faking being dead because there was no way the surgery wasn't going to be successful. As fast as Denny left you started crying, you cried like you never did before.
You were sad, angry, tired and a lot more. You couldn't list all the emotions you were feeling but there was a lot going on in your head and body. Izzie was next, crying her soul out angry by the fact that just a couple of hours ago he was proposing and now he was heading to the mourge.
Dr. Torres and Karev had to try and calm.you too down but how can you do that when a sister just lost her brother and a girl her fianceé? You sure can give it a try but you sure as hell were going to fail.
It had been weeks, how many you didn't know, you just knew that Meredith proposed you to stay with her, George and Izzie so they could make sure you were going to let yourself die. And there you were, in bed (Meredith's) staring at the rooftop, so white it made your eyes tear up every single day. Izzie on the other hand was back on her feet, still broken but yet she managed to move on, a little bit.
A knock on the door, you ignored it, Izzie's voice told you they were leaving and that you had some breakfast just outside the door and they had left some food in the fridge if you felt like eating and the cupboards were filled with junk food if you prefered that. She said her goodbyes and you kept silence, not able to say a word.
It was when you heard the main door closing behind them you started crying feeling like an enormous, huge weight got off your shoulders. Today you gave the time to be weak, today and just for today you allowed yourself to grief in peace without feeling guilty.
Being With Jackson Avery Would Include...
Request - hey hi hello<3
I was wondering if you write for Jackson Avery (from gray's) with a male reader
|| it's okay if u don't feel free to ignore but if you do 👀 could I please order one of those with head cannons about them together (v fluffy)
if u can thank you<3 if you can't no worries<3
— 🥞☕ breakfast anon
Spoilers for the show (kinda), And I know this wasn’t a before and after starting dating request but I thought it would be cute to add a little more
-><-
Tumblr media
-><-
!Before Dating)
- You two met through the merge of Seattle Grace and Mercy West and for a long ass time he didn’t like you, and you didn’t like him
- You were forced to talk to each other when you were stuck on a service together
- It was a lot of back and forth and passive-aggressive comments and shouting by an attending for you to give in and talk to Jackson without making a rude comment
- He in turn didn’t call you names or try to make himself seem smarter than you
- From then on, while you guys weren’t bff’s when given the chance you two would share small talk in elevator rides or walking out to the parking lot
- Over the months of getting to know him and the Mercy West people you two slowly did become best friends or as Mark Sloan likes to put it “best bros” and constantly comparing the two of you to him and Derek
- Without the fact that one of you has a massive crush on the other (it’s Jackson)
- He’s the one who confesses
- In the parking lot after a long day of back-to-back surgeries and being stuck with you every step of the way
- It’s messy and jumbled and so not normal for Jackson, but that’s what made it so much better
!Dating!
- For a long while, you two keep your relationship quiet even though you both know there won’t be a problem with you two being together given everyone supporting Arizona and Callie it was just the idea of you two getting out there, and then Jackson being top news for being an Avery and having a gay lover
- The first person to know was Lexie who came running into Jackson’s room to rant to him and found the two of you making out on his bed
- Safe to say she’s your number-one supporter
- Then it kinda goes from there on telling people, most people found you guys before you told said people and others heard from gossip before you told them
- But once it was out that you two were together, absolutely nothing changed which is what you were grateful for, except for Callie and Arizona wanting to go on double dates as a gay flex to the public
- The two of you are “so cute it hurts,” as Mark mocked when he found the two of you holding hands while walking down a hallway
- While PDA wasn’t something that the two of you do often when around the hospital, outside of the hospital, it wasn’t normal to find the two of you apart
- At big events, the two of you match your suits and your ties and steal the show every time.
- His mom adores you like every time this woman shows up, it’s all “where’s my son-in-law” or “there’s my second favorite guy,” and she smothers the Hell out of you every chance she gets
- Every chance this man gets, he’s expressing how much he loves you with little whispers or a quick peck on the cheek, you name it
- You two are probably everyone’s favourite couple
- So, in summary, you went from enemies to friends to lovers with the “gorgeous” Jackson Avery
Hey I have an Amelia Shepherd X fem reader request.
Reader is Carina DeLuca's sister, who is a trauma/neuro surgeon and Amelia basically has a massive crush on her and Amelia gets flustered and (turned on) whenever R speaks Italian. Arizona notices and teases Amelia, (this eventually leading to smut. Only if you see fit with the request.)
Tumblr media
Mia Amore (Amelia Shepherd x F!Reader)
tags: google translate italian, trauma surgeon!reader, bad head injuries to children, medical inaccuracies(?), Amelia is stupid horny for you, kissing, female reader, heavy makeout session, implied smut
summary: You meet Doctor Shepherd, and she falls hard.
a/n: i absolutely don't know italian so the Italian is from google translate lol
You remembered the day your little brother had started working at Grey-Sloan very well, it was the day that you had the pleasure of meeting the loveliest Doctor in Seattle: Amelia Frances Shepherd. Your sister had gotten you a job at Grey-Sloan quickly, she mentioned having an in with their head of trauma, you don't think on it much, you don't really want to.
Now, you sit in the passenger's seat of the sibling carpool, Carina gives you a smile as Andrew studies over his notes, anxious and antsy for the intern's test today, the thing his residency depended on. You turn around to look at him, "Andrew, honey, you'll be alright. We've helped you study and you've studied enough yourself. You know what you're doing. Don't psyche yourself out."
Carina nods as you turn back to stare out the window, "So," She asks you, "Little sister, anyone you've had your eyes on since coming to Seattle?"
You roll your eyes, "None of your business, Carina. Unless we wanna talk about Andrew and Meredith Grey?" You joke as Andrew shakes his head, still staring down his notes. Carina laughs but goes back to focusing on you, "I just want to know, because, I may have mentioned you to a few of the other doctors around the hospital... Sorry!" You roll your eyes, playfully glaring at your sister, "Well just so you quit doing that. There is one woman..." This makes your sister practically perk up, it even draws Andrew's attention away from his notes, "Seriously? You have to tell us."
You sigh, knowing that today was going to be a long day, "Ugh, you two, I swear... Okay, it's Doctor Shepherd, the neurosurgeon? Meredith Grey's-." You're cut off by Carina, "Owen's ex-wife?" She seems amused by the fact but you just nod, then, the conversation ends there, she keeps an amused smile on her face, as if she isn't telling you something, but when she pulls onto hospital property, dropping the two of you off outside of the E.R. You walk in with Andrew, but before he leaves to go upstairs you pull him close to you, leaving a small kiss on his forehead. "No matter what happens, you'll make it through. I promise." He nods before walking off, that's when you hear the sounds of an ambulance outside. It's one of the constants of the E.R. You find the stress a bit relaxing, you run over to the entrance, pulling a trauma gown on haphazardly. "Give me a rundown!" You call the EMT, who nods, "Penetrating head injury through and through!" You nod, rushing inside alongside the EMTs, "Get me trauma three!" You push your hair back, "And page Amelia Shepherd!" You inspect the wound, it's straight through like they said, the trauma doors slide open and Amelia walks through, "Dr. (L/N)- Oh shit!" She says, looking at the boy, his breathing is balanced, for now.
"He needs surgery soon... We have no way to know about the damage if this stays in for too long, did any family come in with him?" You hadn't noticed earlier but now you do remember, a mother, sobbing and pleading with you to save her child. "Merda..." You curse softly, "Non passo farlo, casso." Amelia looks intriguingly at you, "What's up?" She asks you, as you shake your head, "I just can't... We gotta get him into surgery. Now." She nods as you look back at her. "Page me when it's time, I gotta go tell the mom, page Robbins too." Amelia doesn't respond, simply wheels the boy out, "O.R. Four!" She calls as you walk away, nodding.
You listen to the mother, she tells you everything she knows, her son had always done archery with his friend and things had gotten out of hand, she then began to sob again, you called a social worker awkwardly to help her before rushing to the O.R.
When you get inside the O.R. Amelia is flushed, you can see it even with her surgical mask covering her face. Arizona has a glint of mischief in her eyes, you look around at the situation, and she looks even more flushed when she realizes that it is you who walked in, “Doctor (L/N)...!” She looks as though she’s been caught doing something wrong, “W-We got the arrow out, it’s just a matter of… Of making sure brain function is still working. He is still breathing fine though and all seems well.” Arizona giggles at her stuttering and stammering over her words as if she isn’t a surgeon in a class of her own. You smile, you’re overwhelmingly pleased by the boy and his survival chances, the excitement bringing out more of your accent, “Grazie mille, Amelia!” You think of the mother, not even noticing the red on Amelia’s face, which is a bright hue of scarlet. You barely notice it, smiling at her, she only knows because of the way that she looks at your eyes right now, which glimmer with hope for your patient.
You leave to go inform the mother, whilst Amelia closes up on the boy. Arizona quietly laughs as Amelia groans, “Arizona, that was awful. I can barely talk to her and I want to date her?!” Arizona rolls her eyes, “You also almost slept with her sister and her department head. It’s not like you’re completely disastrous.” She teases her friend, Amelia glares as she begins to wheel the boy out of the O.R. Arizona’s words echoed in the back of her mind, She’s right. Amelia knows that she should just tell you and maybe it is that simple, but, you’re special to her. When the two take the boy to his hospital room, his mother is still talking to you so Arizona subtly elbows Amelia, who nods, she uses this moment to try even slightly to settle her nerves. The boy’s mother smiles and thanks you one last time, “Make sure they aren’t alone with the bows and arrows, alright?” You warn her one last time as she nods, sitting in the chair, holding her son’s hand.
You, Arizona, and Amelia step out to give them some space. Arizona’s pager beeps as she runs off, leaving just you and Amelia. You stand together, it’s quiet, not awkward, Amelia is bursting on the inside, nervous, she could tell you… It can’t be worse if you know, the worst thing is hearing no. She stares at your lips, watching you, your contentment. Everything falls away and it’s just you.
“(Y/N)...”
“Amelia…”
You both laugh a bit when the both of you cutting each other off was just proving that you were both waiting for something. “Amelia, I wanted to say, God… This is hard,” you laugh a bit, “I really like you… I’m not really sure if you like girls but-.” Amelia nods, pulling you close to her, lips crashing into yours. This is happening and you decide in the back of your head, later that day, as you lie in a haze of euphoria, that she definitely likes girls.
Starting work at Seattle Grace and quickly making friends with residents in different departments
Maya noticed you while dropping off a patient, and asked Carina if she knew anything about you
Maya will take every opportunity to flirt with you and make your face as red as possible
You and Carina worry about Maya whenever she heads out to a call
"hey babe, where are you?"
it's mark. luckily for him it was his day off.
"still here."
you listened to him talk about how a grandma he met at a grocery were telling him how handsome and kind of him to help her around the store.
"are you okay?" he asked since you were not giving him any comments or replies.
"hmm?? uh yeah. im just really..." you didn't even get to finish your sentence when you dozed off.
"babe? y/n?" he stifled a laugh on the other line.
"sweet dreams y/n. ill be there when you wake up." he said before dropping the call.
when you woke up, you were surprised to see mark sitting on the bad with a table already set.
"hey there sleepyhead." he said kissing your forehead.
"wha- i was supposed to come home." you tried to straighten yourself up.
"nah it's fine y/n. here let's eat."
Sated
Tumblr media
Title: Sated Pairing: Carina Deluca x Reader Prompt: 22. "I love the way you look with my fingers inside you." MINORS DNI, 18+ Warnings: smut, top Carina, bottom reader, vaginal fingering R WC: 577
Carina was a very spontaneous person. Plans that didn't have to be absolutely set in stone had tendencies to change on a whim. The plan for Y/n and Carina to spend the night in watching trashy TV all night had changed the moment that Carina looked at Y/n. Admittedly, it had been a long time since they had been intimate with each other. There had been a few quickies in the morning or late at night, but nothing that Carina deemed to be of substance. She wanted to spend her time methodically ripping Y/n apart piece by piece, and that was exactly what she had managed to do.
Y/n thought that she was going to go mad with the way that Carina was touching her. Carina's fingers moved slowly down Y/n's body with her mouth trailing behind them. It made each second pass so much slower as Y/n waited for Carina to settle down between her legs. Y/n wanted to get fucked in all the ways that they hadn't had time for before. She wanted Carina to absolutely lay waste to her, perhaps in a way that Y/n wouldn't be fully recovered whenever she had to back to work. The ache between Y/n's legs had been there for so long that she was past yearning for it to just be sated.
"Carina, touch me, please," Y/n stared to beg and plead. "I need to feel you." \\"You've been patient," Carina reasoned as she spread Y/n's legs. Carina leaned down to rest between them. Her hands ran up and down the inside of Y/n's thighs as her lips pressed soft kisses across Y/n's stomach. Y/n waited for the first swipe of Carina's fingers or tongue against her cunt, which came quicker than she had expected. Carina's fingers teased at Y/n's entrance, gathering and spreading wetness all around between her legs. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this."
"Fuck," Y/n swore as Carina's fingers pushed inside of her. Carina kept her head resting against Y/n's as she started to fuck her. Y/n clung to Carina's body for a bit of stability as each thrust of Carina's fingers rocked her to her core. Carina leaned back slightly as she glanced down in between their bodies. There wasn't much space, but just enough for Carina to see her fingers disappearing inside of Y/n. That seemed to spur Carina on, and Y/n's breath was forced out of her lungs as Carina started to fuck her even harder.
"I love the way you look with my fingers inside of you," Carina whispered in Y/n's ear as she pulled Y/n's body against hers again. Y/n couldn't think of anything to say, so all Carina heard in response was a moan. That was all Carina cared to hear as she curled her fingers inside of Y/n, stopping to rock them back and forth inside of the woman for a moment. The pleasure was nearly unbearable, but Y/n held off on cumming for a few more moments with Carina. They technically had all night, but Y/n knew that Carina wouldn't genuinely push her that far. So, she settled for what Carina was giving her in that moment with a prayer to whatever forces in the universe were listening for more after a little bit of rest.
