15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

HMMM. Okay, so I really love PK x WL/WyrmRoot, I adore big height differences and guys just obsessed with their wives. And they're both morally grey, nuanced characters, doomed to fail from the start, so they're both already pretty high up on my character likability tier list and when you put them together it's even better. They support each other's wrongs. They haunt the narrative together. What's not to love?

I also like PK x Grimm/PaleNightmare and PK x TL for other reasons.

Visually, I like the aesthetic of Grimm and Pale King together, and the dynamic some people give them - of Grimm being one of the few people who can irritate and stand up to Pale King and get away with it - I adore a lot. This dance of power and how far one can push the other is something I enjoy in ships. Also, two old fucks finding comfort in each other's company.

Pale King x Traitor Lord is just very amusing to me. It would make the Traitor Lord a gigantic, stinking hypocrite and that's funny to me. Also, I enjoy mortals winning over gods and being the "dominant" one in the relationship, so to speak. That's it, that's the only two reasons. Mostly, it's funny. I love old man yaoi.

16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?

I'm gonna say Lurien x PK/PaleWatcher. I flip flop between disliking them and liking them, and I think it has to do a lot with how they're written. I KNOW it's played up for a joke so I don't really mind it as much, but boiling down Lurien's character to "the guy obsessed with the Pale King" rubs me the wrong way (I keep saying how I don't like characterisations that serve no other purpose than to prop up or demonise another character, and this falls under that category methinks). But it's 99% a joke so it's fine. I'm personally not a fan of how some people write either of them (most of the time Lurien) to be hopelessly pinning after the other, just not my cup of tea specifically for these two. I want them to be two weirdos who just Get each other, are one of the very few people who truly understand each other, but there's still this dance around the...let's say proper mannerisms, statuses and societal expectations. I feel like you get me like no other but you are my king/my subject and I cannot get closer to you than at arms reach, even if I crave it, I need it. I also want them to get completely weird about it in a worshipping your deity kind of way (yes I know it sounds kind of similar to Lurien being obsessed with PK I mentioned before. It is not, not in my soul or heart. Just trust me on this one okay, don't question it).

So overall I don't necessarily dislike it so to speak, it's just my least favourite ship because it can be very hit or miss (I guess they never miss) kind of relationship for me

(For the briefest of moments, when I realised that I'm talking about a ship that I don't even dislike, I thought about switching this answer to Radiance x PK because that's the worst ship I could think of without it being downright gross/triggering. And then I promptly realised it'd be fucking hilarious and now I want to see them make each other worse. I want to observe this toxic inevitable disaster like a fly on a wall)

what is your ship about Pk

You've no idea how long I've waited for someone to ask about this.

And still, I've got no good answer. Honestly WL x PK is very beautiful-looking and also supported by canon, but at the same time I don't have her fleshed out to nearly the same extent as PK, which makes it difficult for me to be hyped/invested. The same goes for Grimm. I'm not particularly attached to him, but he is super cool nonetheless!

Probably the closest thing for me is Pale Watcher. And like, I'm not talking about some variation where both PK and Lurien survive and get a happy ending together. No. Because I am evil, I greatly enjoy the concept of Lurien sacrificing himself out of one-sided love. And, as much as I think they would mesh well together personality-wise I can't see my interpretation of PK being comfortable in a relationship with Lurien, due to many reasons.

For one, there's a pretty huge power discrepancy, two, my mans would basically be sending his would-be-boyfriend to his death, three, I still think PK would hold lingering fidelity toward WL, and four, he's understandably got self-esteem issues and would deem himself unworthy of a loving relationship even if the opportunity presented itself. Has he always had those issues? No, but I think it got increasingly clear to him as things escalated that he's not who he thought he was — more on all of this later*.

Also, Lurien is probably too chicken to confess and PK is too socially oblivious (sperg) to know when someone wants to put a ring on him. IMO it's a great will-they-won't-they dynamic I basically never get tired of. Truly, a source of endless giggles AND silly leg-swinging whilst twirling my luscious locks.

TL;DR, PK is super single, you guys. He's too busy trying to dad after I unceremoniously revived him for that very purpose. I can't let such a tragic dadfailure go unchanged!

*So, I know not everyone has this interpretation, but my particular variation of PK values his moral integrity IMMENSELY and strives to do the Right thing. Entering a relationship with Lurien, for example, would probably not be the Right thing. I think Lurien is perceptive enough (it's his job) to realize this as well and would not push it. SIMP <3.

With all of that said, the vessel plan haunted PK to his death and tore him asunder, mentally. Like, he was probably guilt-free and doing fine during the dawn of his reign, considered himself worthy of love — but after having to create the vessels? Nah. I do not have any doubt in my mind that PK recognized how fucked it was. Guy literally had a mantra to soothe himself (no cost too great) and I'm not even sure he believed it... Dude probably had the cognitive dissonance and self-gaslighting turned up to 100 in order to live with himself. So yeah, if someone asked him out on a date or something he'd probably just go: "oh, you can do better than me".

*pinches his cheeks*

Which cheeks, you ask? Yes.

Also, you might find it weird that I would say PK has fidelity for WL considering the canon infidelity. Some jokingly/seriously characterize him as a 'playa' because of this. Well, my specific boy is not a playa!!! Too awkward for it and not nearly horny enough. He's running on fumes as-is. WL is the horny one, goddammit.

So, in my opinion, that dalliance wasn't really something he desired and was more a means to an end. I'm glad he did it though! Otherwise we wouldn't have our girlboss Hornet. Thanks king!!! 😘

OH GOD OH FUCK *runs around spilling my crack ships OTPs and Platonic-pairings* uhhh!!!

▪︎Grimm is a uncle-ish figure to Hollow and Hornet specifically, it came into my brain and never left! To Ghost they're just a funny old guy who does cool magic

▪︎I absolutely adore Soulmaster x Lurien, it started as a crack ship but they plague my brain like worms

▪︎Lemm, and Mato are peak bug dads and I will fight you on it

▪︎The dreamers have a queer platonic relationship intertwined with their private ones, Lurien Herrah and Monomon grew extremely close whilst preparing to rest and thus had lots of time to get to know eachother (they are still all jokingly mean though)

▪︎I like the idea of Lacenet but I'm more inclined towards ClothxHornet or MylaxHornet, it's more fun to think about outside of "enemies to lovers". Since the few all experienced the infection and restoration of Hallownest together, they have much more room to build onto their personal experiences n how it shapes them in the relationship

▪︎Ghost is aromantic but shares keen openly affectionate friendship toward Bretta + (Grimmkin is nothing more than a companion to Ghost!! The pairing did not click for me nomatter what)

▪︎PK is pansexual and polyamorous in a bigot way/lh

(Also, speaking of Pale King. I fucking adored the posts talking about Vesla luring Auric away from his work with Froot Loops and swaddling him up on blankets when she's caught him. You know for a fact that after a minute or more of fighting, he eventually falls asleep and is out for HOURS)

(I also love those posts. <3) But yeah, here you are, opening the floodgates and allowing me to ramble about Auri headcanons. Be scared. <3 /lh

So, for sexuality headcanons, I've always headcanoned him as a polyamorous, pansexual individual. He's like,,, the most poly mf of the characters besides his wife. He doesn't have a gender preference at all, he tends to just gravitate to people more dominant than he is (Haha, little runt bitch baby sub. /aff) For gender headcanons, this one is slightly more specific than "He is just a dude bro homie." As a Wyrm, he was born intersex and technically genderless, and even though he retains his intersex characteristics as a little fork man, he prefers a masculine label over a feminine one, though he doesn't have any dysphoria either way. Of course, I have several ships with Auri that I am a Certified Enjoyer of: I like Auric and Vesla, Grimm and Auric, and Viktor (NKG) and Auric together respectively. :] As for BROTPs, Auri is an interesting case because he is a fucking hermit and has trouble making friends, but he is pretty decent friends with Ogrim and Lurien. I'm sorry, but Ogrim and Auri are total besties; Auri refers to him as an "acquaintance" (even though Auric likes his company), but Ogrim thinks of them as total buddies, total homies. As for Lurien, Lurien has a huge fuckin' crush on Auri and really wants to hold his hand and have Auri take him out to dinner and such. Auri is obviously dense as all hell and does not notice Lurien's crush on him at all, and thinks of them as good friends. They have a lot of similar interests and get along really well. They sit in the Watcher's Spire, and drink tea and coffee (Auric does not like tea) together, watching the rain patter on the window as they chat about themselves and the Kingdom. It's nice. :] As for NOTPs, uh,,, anything involving his kids. Fuck PK x PV, all my homies hate PK x PV (and any other gross incest shippings). A random headcanon,,, oh fuck, there are so many. Well, I'll just choose this one: He's primarily a carnivore and actively avoids other foods outside of meat. His diet consists of coffee, raw meat, cooked meat, and sweets. Sweets and coffee are the only non-meat shit he eats at all, lmao. My general opinion on him is that I LOVE HIM WITH ALL OF MY BEING AND HE IS MY VERY FAVOURITE.
