Seven years ago, Kaia’s poop had become inexplicably loose, so I took her to the vet and they ran some tests to discover her pancreas wasn’t absorbing the nutrients it was supposed to, so I had to give her medicine, which is what I’m doing in the photo. We both hated it. And then we figured out the pills didn’t help her anyway. We eventually landed on feeding her dried pig pancreases,which I had to grind up and hide in her food. I did that for every meal the last two and a half years of her life.
