Not what I usually post but i'm on a bit of a Cats (as in the musical) kick lately and I doodled a Grizabella, Originally sketched in ms paint and roughly touched up in medibang. I feel like I could've made her look older and more disheveled but i'm pretty happy with how this came out. I really channeled my inner warriors artist for this one

Ngl, before I got into cats and had only seen pictures and stuff of Grizabella I 100% thought she was a mouse.
I mean can you blame me?!

The faces you make when your estranged mother shows up out of nowhere, tries to win your good graces back and ruins your plans to run/disrupt/destroy the Jellicle Ball.

Remember when I said I wanted to practice more facial expressions HAHA
i stumbled across this image from this Insta reel (link) and I had to, I saw the vision, it must be done at this very moment. I also feel like I should draw the rest of the pictures too 🌞

Been thinking of this scene recently...
Following the headcanon that Grizabella is the mother of the Deuteronomy brothers and thus left them behind to follow her own fame...
Do you think this scene is Tugger's way of saying "Go on, grab the spotlight. You always loved it, you even loved it more than your kids."
Its been rattling around in my brain for a while...

Grizabella the Glamour Cat
She haunted many a low resort
Near the grimy road of Tottenham Court
She flitted about the No Man's Land
From "The Rising Sun" to "The Friend at Hand"
And the postman sighed as he scratched his head
"You really had thought she ought to be dead"
And who would ever suppose that that
was Grizabella the Glamour Cat?
I've been really getting into the 1998 version of Cats lately. Not really sure why lol. Anyways, this version of Grizabella is mostly inspired by the aforementioned Elaine Paige design, but the line "the corner of her eye twists like a crooked pin" stuck in my mind and I really wanted to draw her with a damaged eye.
