Since Gungi is a Wookie, if he managed to survive long enough to make it to fall of the Empire, he’ll be alongside Grogu, Ahsoka and perhaps Cal as the only Temple’s raised surviving Jedi.

Chewbacca was 200 years old in A New Hope, Gungi was just a child when the Republic and the Order fell. So, Gungi wouldn’t even be a fully growed up Wookie by the time Luke reunites with Din and takes Grogu with him.

This open the posibility that maybe in some random day in Luke’s Jedi School, a teenager Wookie will show up to the door, showing up his wooden lightsaber and affirming he isn’t a Jedi Knight, not yet, but a Jedi Youngling.

Luke is astonished beyond his mind.

Little Grogu, through, quickly recognizes his old friend, from a long time ago, and toddles all the way to hug Gungi’s leg.
