- "Which one did you find?" You call out from the kitchen getting some soda for yourself and Buggy.
"It's called Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter {OP note: This is a real movie- absolutely awful}" Buggy yelled out, laughing at just the name as you jump onto the big couch and hand him his drink as he eats some chips.
"That sounds absolutely awful" You say, looking at the cheap movie cover and reading the back with a snort. Buggy nods, patting himself on the back for finding such garbage.
"It truly is, I've outdone myself" He says proudly before the two of you start the terrible adventure. Having to pause the movie at times for laughing so damn hard-
"This is so bad!" You say as you laugh and roll on the floor- Buggy no better. However he wiped the tears from his eyes as he caught his breath.
"While we can laugh at least he made a movie-" He pointed out with a shrug, you sitting next to him and raising a eyebrow at the oddly kind words from Buggy.
"What do you mean?"
"I always wanted to make a movie- But I doubt anyone would watch them.. they barely watch my shows" He muttered, his insecurities getting to him as he subconsciously touched his nose. You reaching over and grabbing his hand quickly, kissing his lips to snap him from his terrible thoughts.
"What are you talking about?! I think your shows are great and I know you'd do a fantastic job making a movie!" You proclaimed loudly with a smile, your Boyfriend turning and staring hard at you.
He stares at you- like youd said the craziest thing ever. You feeling a creep of worry going up your back at how he was looking at you
"What is your ring size?" He finally ask and gestures to your ring finger making you blush deeply red.

Tumblr media
————————————————————————-
Summary: Flashback. The story of how you and Joe came to be. Years before marriage and your little family.
Warnings: none, fluff
Pairing: Joe Burrow x reader
Imagine universe: Beginning of… Into The Mystic
A/N: Joe is a senior in high school and you are a junior. It's your first year at Athens HS! Also, most of these students' names are made up.
————————————————————————-
August, 2014
(Joe’s pov)
“Yo! Joey!” - Zach
I turned around to see one of my best friends running up to me.
“First day of senior year!” - Zach
“Yup! Just think about it, we’re like the big dogs now.” - Joe
“Ya know it. I heard that there's this really hot new chick coming from Kentucky.” - Zach
“Well, I don't want any part of that. I've got enough going on with football and schoolwork. Don't be surprised if my next girlfriend is in college.” - Joe
“Damn dude, that was pretty forward. You haven't even seen her yet. This could be your Juliette, Romeo!” - Zach
“I highly doubt it.” - Joe
We rounded the corner to find a few more of the football guys and a few of their girlfriends with them.
“Yeah, her name is y/n.” - Cassidy
“Who is?” - Joe
After making my presence known, Cassidy turned around and rolled her eyes at the sight of me.
“Dude, what was that for?” - Joe
“Shoo, Joe.” - Cassidy
“What, why?” - Joe
“Because I'd rather you leave than explain that we have a new girl just to hear you say you're focusing on football.” - Cassidy
“She’s got a point.” - Zach
“Who's side are you on?” - Joe rolled his eyes
Before Zach could answer, the bell rang, telling us to head to first period.
The group disbanded, and when everyone else went in the direction of the same classroom, I realized I was probably going to be alone in this class.
My first period was chemistry, and sadly, the teacher was notorious for a boy-girl seating chart.
I walked upstairs and found the room. When I walked in, everyone was in their seats already.
Looking for my name attached to a seat number on the board, I found it and then went on trying to find it.
The tables were for two people, and in the back corner where my table was, I saw that a girl was already occupying the other seat.
She was pretty, I won't lie, but I'd never seen her before.
The girl was looking down at her schedule when I sat my stuff down on the table, causing her to look up at me.
A warm smile spread across her lips, and I found myself studying her face a little too long.
“Hi.” - Joe
“Hey.” - you
I sat down next to her, my mind trying to come up with a conversation.
“Enjoying your first day so far?” - Joe
“Yeah, pretty well, you?” - you
“Same. Other than my friend’s girlfriend being rude to me for no reason.” - Joe
She laughed. It was one of the cutest laughs I've ever heard, and it was infectious too.
“I'm sure you didn't deserve it.” - you
“Thank you! I walked up to them, and she just rolled her eyes at me.” - Joe
“Dang man, she has beef with you.” - you
“That's what I'm sayin’. I don't know what I've ever done to her, though.” - Joe
“Ask her.” - you shrugged
“Nah, I don't care that much. Why am I even telling you this?” - Joe
“I don't know.” - you laughed
There's that laugh again.
“I just started unloading on you, huh? Well, I haven't seen you before so tell me about yourself.” - Joe
“Well, I'm a junior, so that's probably why. I'm not that interesting though. I strive for good grades, and I do gymnastics with a side of dance.” - you
“Oh really? I play football.” - Joe
“That's cool.” - you smiled
“Yeah, I’m feeling really good about this season, I just know it's gonna be great.” - Joe
“Well, I wish you luck.” - you
“I appreciate that, and you too. Hope gymnastics goes well.” - Joe
“Thank you.” - you smiled
Before the conversation could go further, the teacher started talking about what we should expect in this class. The teacher didn't stop me and my new seat buddy from talking, though.
As we talked longer, I realized we had a lot in common. I wouldn't be lying if I said she was the first girl I've talked to about Star Wars.
She was really fun, though, and easy to talk to.
Our conversation lasted till the bell rang, and we both sheepishly smiled when we realized that we'd been loudly talking in a quiet classroom.
I stood up and started packing my things. She did the same. The rest of the students were filing out of the room when we both put our backpacks on, seemingly in sync.
“I… I’m Joe, by the way. Joe Burrow, but most call me Joey.” - Joe
“It was nice talking to you, Joey. I'm y/n.” - you
She shook my hand and walked out of the door, leaving me shocked.
y/n… new hot girl from Kentucky.
After talking to her, it felt wrong to refer to her in that way. She was really pretty, but hot isn't a word I like to use when referring to girls.
I hope I have more classes with her. Woah, what am I saying?!
Focus on football, Joe.
——
Sadly, I didn't have any more classes with y/n, but I thankfully had friends in all my other classes.
I had lunch B, and most of my football buddies were in there, but I found myself zoning out while trying to look around the room for her.
Ever since the bell rang in chemistry, I haven't stopped thinking about y/n. It was becoming a slight problem, but it seemed like all I wanted was to go to chemistry tomorrow and talk to her.
After school ended, the football team stayed after school since we had our first home game the same day.
Hours later, we were suited up and ready to go out and stretch.
When we ran out and took the field as the senior quarterback, I was naturally the one leading the pack, but my eyes drifted toward the sideline.
One of the cheerleaders was flipping while the others were in stunts, but when she landed her last trick and posed, I gasped lightly when I saw who it was.
y/n.
That's how Cassidy knew her name! She’s a cheerleader!
“Joe! Where are you going?” - Zach
The sound of my teammate yelling snapped me out of my daydream, and I realized that when the rest of the team stopped running to stretch, I kept going because all I was paying attention to was y/n.
“Oh.” - Joe
I turned around and ran to where I was supposed to be, but when I turned around, y/n was smiling at me. I smiled back.
——
We ended up winning the game, which is always amazing, but even better since it was our home opener.
After walking back into the locker room to hear what the coaches had to say, I showered and packed up to find my parents.
I wasn't at all surprised when most of the cheerleaders were standing outside waiting. Most of their boyfriends were players, so they'd wait after for them.
My eyes landed on my parents and brothers, but as I was walking in their direction, I heard a familiar voice calling for me.
“Joe!” - you
I turned in the direction of the voice to see y/n speedwalking over to me with a smile on her face.
“Hey, y/n.” - Joe smiled
“Hey, you did well! I knew you said you played football but I wasn't expecting that. You're super good.” - you
Is it hot out here all of a sudden? Why is my face heating up?
“Thanks. You're really good too. I know those flips are hard to do. You make it look effortless.” - Joe
“Thanks… sorry I distracted you though.” - you
“Not your fault, I just wasn't expecting to see you. You look uh… good, by the way.” - Joe
“You too.” - you giggled
Just as I was about to say something else, I heard my mom's voice calling for me.
“Sorry, that's my mom. I gotta go.” - Joe
“It's all good. See you in chem?” - you
“See you in chem.” - Joe
As I walked away from her, I felt something I'd never felt before.
Oh no.
——
Next Day
It was Friday and lunchtime.
All my teammates were feeling good after the win yesterday, and sure, I was too, but that wasn't what was on my mind.
This morning in chemistry, I found myself lost in a conversation with y/n again. The disappointment when the bell rang was insane. I never wanted to stop talking to her.
She was just different.
The attention she got from other guys was because of her looks, and she was pretty, gosh, she was pretty… but I didn't like being around her for that.
We had a lot in common and never ran out of things to talk about. She listened to what I had to say and gave great feedback. We talked about our futures and what we wanted to be when we graduated.
I told her about my hopes of going to the league, and what she replied with gave me a flutter in my stomach that I'd never felt before.
“If you make it to the NFL, you have to invite me to come see you.”
I’d known this girl for two days and I was already ready to make that promise.
My mind was so stuck on that altercation that I didn't hear Zach talking to me from across the table.
“Joe? Joe!” - Zach
I flinched slightly and looked up at him, all the guys at the table watching me with weird looks on their faces.
“Sorry… I spaced out.” - Joe
“Anyway, Cassidy told me that y/n was asking about you at their lunch.” - Zach
“What? What'd she ask?” - Joe
Should my heart be beating this fast?
“Asked if you had a girlfriend, I guess. Don't worry, though, Cas told her that you're focusing on football.” - Zach
“Oh. Okay.” - Joe
Is that really what I want?
“She’s so funny to tease.” - Chad
“Seriously, she's got cheerleader brain.” - Max
Why are they talking about her like that??
“I gotta go.” - Joe
I stood up from the lunch table, quickly finding a trashcan and throwing my stuff away before walking out of the lunch room.
“What’s his problem?” - Max
“I don't know, bro.” - Chad
Zach knew because he was right. What he told me yesterday was haunting me.
Romeo, this could be your Juliette.
——
My thoughts ran wild as I went to the office and asked to do some volunteer work.
The receptionist gave me the okay to go down to the middle school for the remainder of the lunch period.
I drove over to the middle school and went up to the office, clicking the button to signal the office worker that I was out there.
When the door unlocked I was able to open it. I did, and whose eyes I met surprised me.
“y/n?” - Joe
“Oh, hey Joe.” - you
“What are you doing here?” - Joe
“Gonna head to a class to volunteer, I have a free period right now. Aren't you supposed to be in lunch?” - you
“Well, yeah, but I had to get out of there.” - Joe
“Why’s that?” - you
Her brows were furrowed like she could hear the slight edge in my voice.
“Some of the guys were saying stuff about you, kinda pissed me off, so I left.” - Joe
“What? You left because of that? I’m used to it, Joe. I'm just a dumb cheerleader.” - you
“You're not, though, that's why I didn't want to listen to it. I've only known you for two days, but I look forward to every conversation we share. They don't know you as I do.” - Joe
y/n placed a hand on my shoulder and smiled at me. Her eyes gave off a grateful look.
“You're the first person who’s made attempts to get to know me, and I appreciate it.” - you
“Not even your teammates?” - Joe
“I love ‘em, but they're not the Star Wars type like you are.” - you
“Yeah… I'm pretty cool like that.” - Joe
“Oh, whatever!” - you rolled your eyes
We laughed with each other before the receptionist cleared her throat. Both y/n and I froze when we realized where we were.
“Oh, sorry!” - you
“You guys can both go to room 379 if you’d like, seems like you two have a spark.” - receptionist
I rubbed the back of my neck nervously, but y/n smiled at the older lady and walked through the double doors into the building.
There weren't any words shared between us as we walked to the room, both of us were thinking about what the woman had said. Do we have a spark?
——
Ten minutes into hanging out with the sixth graders, the teacher sent y/n and me to the copy room.
“Hey, have you thought about formal?” - Joe
“What about it?” - you
Winter formal wasn't coming until December, obviously, but I felt the need to ask.
“Like are you going? Date ideas?” - Joe
“I figured I'd go, yeah. I don't know who I'm gonna go with, though. Might just go with friends, the guys here aren't the best.” - you
“Ouch.” - Joe
“Hey, I don't count you with them. You’re separate.” - you
“I think that's good.” - Joe
“It is. You're a jock, but a nice one, you know? I like you.” - you
My face dropped as I looked at her, feeling my cheeks flush and my stomach flop.
“Not in that way!” - you rushed to say
“Oh… okay.” - Joe
“Why do you act disappointed? I thought you weren't looking for anything and focusing on football.” - you
“I don't know. I thought I was, but you're making it hard to.” - Joe
“What does that mean?” - you
“I barely know you, but I can't stop thinking about you. You understand me in a way I didn't think was possible… you're just different.” - Joe
“I feel the same way about you. You're nerdy but athletic and have these quirks that I'm obsessed with. You're oddly the guy version of me.” - you
“Nah, you're the girl version of me.” - Joe
“Oh, whatever!” - you shoved his chest
I'm feeling a little bold after she told me she can't stop thinking about me either. Should I make a little move?
“You look cute when you do that. You roll your eyes at me but are smiling.” - Joe
“Oh, uh. Thanks.” - you blushed
“You're welcome.” - Joe smiled
——
October, 2014
That's as far as we went talking about it.
Nothing ever came from that one conversation we shared at the middle school. That's the closest thing we ever did that could come close to showing feelings for one another.
We just continued being really good friends who giggle in the back of the chemistry room, but the eye contact we make while I'm on the field and she’s on the sidelines tells me there's something there.
In the past two months, I've concluded that no matter how hard I try to deny it, I have a crush on y/n.
I just don't know how to act on it.
She still thinks that I don't want a relationship right now, so I need to start dropping hints.
The first step of my plan was to ask her to study with me after school, like at my house.
So, when I walked into chemistry this morning, I had that idea in the back of my head.
“Hey.” - Joe smiled
“Morning.” - you smiled back
I sat my stuff down and took my seat next to her.
“I need to ask you something.” - you
“Oh, what's that?” - Joe
“They haven't announced it yet, but I won junior attendant for homecoming.” - you
“Really?! That's awesome!” - Joe
“Yeah, thanks. We have to have a guy from the football team be our escort…” - you
“And you want me to ask someone for you?” - Joe
She looked at me with a “boy, please” look on her face that made me laugh.
“I'm just playing. I'd love to walk you.” - Joe
“Okay, good. Thanks, Joey.” - you
“Mhm. When will you find out who won Hoco Queen?” - Joe
“Not till the game, but if I win, you’ll get a little crown too.” - you
“I get a crown too?? Now you have to win.” - Joe
“I'll try my hardest. You have to help my campaign, though.” - you
“Sounds like a deal.” - Joe smiled
——
Later that week, I met up with y/n during my lunch period and her free period. I helped her campaign, and when she wasn't around, I convinced the football team to vote for her.
I wanted to make sure she'd win.
——
“Junior attendant, y/n y/l/n, escorted by Joey Burrow.”
The announcer’s voice beamed through the speakers as we walked down the middle of the football field. My arm was looped with y/n’s, and I shortened my strides with the length of her heals in mine.
I hadn't seen her till she walked out and looped her arm with mine, but she looked so beautiful.
“You look gorgeous.” - Joe whispered
“Thank you.” - you blushed
We smiled for the camera when we reached the end of the field, and y/n gently squeezed my arm when we walked over and stood in our directed spot.
“You don't look too bad yourself.” - you
Our conversation was drowning out the announcer’s voice, who was reading the short paragraph that y/n wrote a couple of days ago. She'd made me proofread it so many times that I had it practically memorized.
“y/n would like to thank her parents and friends, especially her best friend, who is escorting her tonight.”
That part was new.
My cheeks heated up when I looked down at y/n to see her already smiling at me. She'd never come out and said that I was her best friend, but I couldn't say it didn't make sense.
“Surprise.” - you nudged him
“I'm your best friend, huh?” - Joe
“Yeah.” - you smiled
“You're mine too.” - Joe
“No way!” - you pushed Joe’s chest
“Don't tell Zach I said that, though.” - Joe
Her smile was infectious, and I felt my lips mirror y/n’s expression.
The announcer went on to introduce the senior attendant and read her little background story.
“Now, ladies and gentlemen. Your 2014 football homecoming queen is…”
I reached my other hand up to squeeze y/n’s that was wrapped around my bicep.
“y/n y/l/n!”
“You did it! Go get your crown!” - Joe
She let go of my arm and walked back to the middle of the field.
I watched with a proud smile on my face as y/n was handed a bouquet, a sash draped over her shoulder, and the crown on her head.
There was so much adoration in my heart for her, and when she turned around to look at me, my smile only widened.
“C’mere!” - you mouthed
I slowly walked over to her, and y/n re-looped our arms.
Bowing my head slightly, the crown was put on top of it. y/n laughed at the sight of the crown adorning my forehead.
“Lemme fix that. It's kinda sideways.” - you
She stepped on her tiptoes and fixed it, a blush forming on my cheeks when her fingers brushed down my face when she pulled away.
“You look cute.” - you smiled
“Thanks.” - Joe grinned
——
December, 2014
“Hey.” - Joe
“Oh, hey.” - you
I put my stuff down and sat down in my chair, the same routine since the first day of school. Hopefully, though, today some things will change.
Or at least be set in the right direction to change.
“I need to ask you a question.” - Joe
“Shoot.” - you
“Be my date too formal?” - Joe
I looked at her with hopefulness in my eyes. Please say yes.
“I'm already going with Chad… sorry, Joe.” - you
“Oh. It's okay, I just thought… nevermind.” - Joe
My shoulders slumped as I turned away from her and faced the board, biting the insides of my cheeks nervously.
The one time I shoot my shot with a girl, and I get rejected.
Guess that tells me what my priorities should be.
Focusing on football.
——
“What do you mean Joe’s here alone?” - you
“Yeah, Zach had to practically beg him to even come. Joe said there wasn't any point in going since he didn't have a date.” - Cassidy
“That makes me feel terrible…” - you
“Why?” - Cassidy
“Because he asked me, but I'd already said yes to Chad.” - you
“It's not your fault, how were you supposed to know that Joe was gonna ask you? I mean, he isn't looking for anything right now.” - Cassidy
“Yeah… do you know where he is?” - you
“No idea. Probably hiding in a corner.” - Cassidy
“Chad literally ditched me after pictures. Joe never would've done that…” - you
A few seconds of silence between the two girls went by before Cassidy had a lightbulb moment.
“Do you have a crush on Joe?!” - Cassidy
“What?! No!” - you
“You so do! y/n you should tell him! I honestly think he feels the same way…” - Cassidy
“No… he's focusing on football.” - you sighed
“So you do like him?” - Cassidy
“Maybe…” - you
When you admitted it out loud, it felt real. You like Joe.
Joey Burrow, the quarterback with the nerdy side that only you knew of, the one with the imperfect but adorable smile, the one that made you look forward to first period, your crush.
“I'm gonna go find him.” - you
You walked as fast as your heels allowed you and threw your half-drank cup of subpar punch in the trash can, pushing open the gym doors as Tongue Tied by GROUPLOVE playing through the speakers served as a soundtrack.
Zach wasn't hard to find as a sea of letterman jackets was in the hallway.
“Where’s Joe?” - you
“Oh, hey, y/n! He said he was gonna go take a walk around.” - Zach shrugged
You nodded and walked away toward the academic wing of the school.
Only the generator lights were on, but there was enough lighting to make out that familiar tall frame looking into the trophy cases.
Carefully, so as to not scare him, you slowly walked up behind Joe and tapped his shoulder.
“Hi.” - you
“Hi.” - Joe
“Chad ditched me…” - you
“That sucks.” - Joe
He hadn't even looked up at you yet.
“I'm sorry. If I had known you were going to ask me, I wouldn't have said yes to him.” - you
“S’okay, probably for the better.” - Joe
“Why are you just walking around by yourself, Joe?” - you
“Nothing else to do. Kinda bored.” - Joe
“Wanna go see what teachers left their classrooms unlocked?” - you grinned
Joe’s eyes drifted away from the trophy case for the first time and found yours. A smile pulled at his lips as he nodded his head.
You held your hand out to him, and Joe gladly accepted, clasping his fingers with yours.
There were so many unspoken feelings shared between you two as you made your way down the hallways to find an open door.
“The chem room is open…” - Joe
You gently opened the door and pulled Joe in behind you, the lights being motion-activated turned on as you two walked in.
Joe flicked the light switch back off as the moonlight through the window lit up the room.
Making your way to your table, you and Joe sat down in your respective seats without sharing a word.
“Your dress is pretty.” - Joe
With a longing glance, you examined Joe’s hair, outfit, and shoes.
“Thanks. You look handsome.” - you
“Thanks.” - Joe smiled
A few seconds of silence went by before Joe cleared his throat, immediately getting your attention.
“Uhm… can I be honest with you?” - Joe
“Always.” - you
Here goes nothing.
“I think you're amazing. Talking to you every day makes me want to come to school, and I enjoy every word that's shared between us. You get to see a side of me that many people don't because I feel safe with you. I hope what I'm about to tell you doesn't ruin that, and you might just see me as a friend… but I like you.” - Joe
“In what way?” - you
In all honesty, you knew exactly what he meant, but you wanted to hear him say it.
“In the way that I find myself staring at you all the time because I think you're beautiful, In the way that you give me butterflies when you laugh or smile at me. You are incredible, y/n; gorgeous, smart, talented, crazy athletic, loyal, trustworthy.” - Joe
He paused for a second to scan your face for somewhat of a reaction.
“Now that I think about it, you're so out of my league.” - Joe laughed
“Go on, Joey.” - you giggled
“What I'm trying to say is… I have a crush on you, y/n.” - Joe
“Mr. ‘I'm focusing on football’ has a crush on me?!?” - you
Joe felt his stomach drop at your teasing. He'd just poured his heart out, and was thinking the worst.
“So you don't feel the same way?” - Joe
“What? I didn't say that!” - you
“So…?” - Joe
“I like you too, Joe. More than friends.” - you
“Really?” - Joe smiled
“Yeah.” - you grinned
You two sat there, no words shared, just tooth-rotting grins.
“I've never done this before… what happens next?” - Joe
“I think there's another question you need to ask me.” - you
“Oh, yeah! y/n…” - Joe
He took your hand in his, the size difference making your heart flutter for a second before you shifted your attention back to his beautiful blue eyes.
“Be my girlfriend?” - Joe finished
“I'd love to.” - you smiled
Somehow, your other hand found its way into his. Almost as if magnets were pulling your faces together, you both leaned in.
Your lips molded together so perfectly like you were each other’s missing piece.
Maybe because you guys were.
Joe would forever be grateful that he took the leap of faith and confessed to the girl that he swore was out of his league, for she would become his everything for the rest of his life.
That chemistry room is where you found your first real boyfriend, who would be your first kiss, and unbeknownst to you, you were Joe’s first real girlfriend and kiss as well.
In fact, you were each other’s first everything.
And you'd also be each other’s last.

— SOCIOLOGY CLASS, 5:45PM —
class seemed to be going on forever, you felt as you rested your head in your hand.
the teacher was going and on about who knows what now. you glanced at the clock on the wall. it read 5:45pm. the soft clicks taunting you. 15 more minutes and you can finally see your friends.
nobody shared your last hour and a half class with you. none of them minored in sociology. everytime to stepped into class you regretted it instantly.
you slid your phone out from your bag, positioning it behind your laptop.
“remind me to never take another sociology class again,” you typed to the group chat. a few seconds later and your phone buzzed with a reply from yeonjun.
“you say this every time you have the class,” he replied with a laughing emoji.
glancing up to the clock again, you sigh. 5:50pm. you could make it another ten minutes. you tune in to what your teacher is saying and realize he’s talking about some dog his wife got and how now they have to keep it because their children have already become attached to it. you look around the class to see either people half asleep or close to it. the teacher either doesn’t notice or doesn’t mind as they’re talking a mile a minute on a rant with their hands flying everywhere.
you slide your phone back into your bag and start to clean up your supplies. by the time you put your last notebook in your bag the bell rings. the class is suddenly alive. you close your laptop, sliding it into your bag and stand up, flinging the bag over your shoulder.
your phone vibrates as you walk down the hallway and you pull it out, telling your friends that you’re on your way to the cafe now. hueningkai and jake text that they already have the table saved.
a voice startles you out of your messages, “honestly, remind me next semester to not take another late class. i'd rather take morning classes and get everything over with.” yunjin complains as she walks up next to you, her hair is a little messy and she has lines on her face that shows she just woke up from a nap. you laugh a little and she looks over to you.
“what?” a smile creeps up on her mouth and you point to her face. she opens her camera on her phone and begins to look at herself, then let’s out a small gasp.
“oh my god!” she flattens her hair and rubs at her face a little, but stops when she realizes that it’s not making the marks go away. she mutters a “whatever” under her breath. she turns to you again.
“so…” she trails off and giggles a little, “anybody compliment you on the outfit?”
you laugh and shake your head, “everyone was too busy sleeping to bother to look at me.” the two of you stop at the elevator to go down to the first floor before yunjin’s face lights up.
“fuck!” she yells. “i forgot to get my textbook!” she turns on her heels and books it down the hallways back to her last class. you shake your head at her, laughing a little.
you move to the side of the elevator, out of the way of all the other students. a couple minutes past and yunjin still isn’t back.
she must’ve gotten into it with her teacher, you think.
“are you waiting for the elevator?” you hear a voice speak.
you look up from the game you were playing on your phone to see none other than the most popular boy in your college. choi soobin, resident golden boy, and the guy who you unfortunately have a crush on like almost every other girl in the school.
you can feel your cheeks heating up. the words to reply to him seem stuck in your throat. his eyes bore into yours and it feels like flowers are blooming in your heart after years of darkness.
“y-yes.. no!” you quickly reply, stuttering and accidentally shouting the last word. you clear your throat hastily. “yes,” you start again, “but i’m waiting on my friend.” where is yunjin, you think.
he nods as if considering your words. you glance up at the LED screen that shows what elevator the floor is on. floor five, and you’re on floor three. and the rickety old thing takes forever to get from floor to floor. they really need to fix it.
it’s quiet for a moment between the two of you. you’re too nervous to get back on your phone, not wanting to seem rude and also wanting to seem attentive if he starts speaking again.
“so… you major in sociology?” soobin speaks. you raise your eyebrows in shock and before you can ask how he knows you take sociology he continues. “your textbook,” he points to your bag where half of the textbook is falling out from you moving too quickly, “sorry, didn’t mean to sound like a creep.” he lets out a small laugh and you swear it’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever heard.
you adjust the bag on your shoulders and laugh a little. “minor… and it’s okay, i didn’t think you were being creepy.” you mentally smack yourself. did that sound weird to say? did you just ruin your chances to talk to the person you’ve been crushing on since you got to this school?
if soobin thought your reply was weird he didn’t say anything about it. he takes a step towards you and your breath catches in your throat. you hands start to feel sweaty as you tightly grip the straps of your bag.
“i’m actually trying to take a sociology class next semester!” soobin exclaims with a sheepish smile on his face. he runs a hand through his hair and looks down. “how’s the class? i heard mr. lee is kinda intense.”
“it’s not that bad actually…” you trail off. and it isn’t. when mr. lee isn’t going on a tangent, the information you learn is actually really useful. “i wouldn’t take the late class though, he tends to start rambling a lot towards the end of the day.”
soobin nods and thinks your answer over. a smile spreads on his mouth. “i don’t know if this is a weird ask, but do you mind if i get your number?”
your heart completely stops and you struggle to think if you heard his words right. he wants your number? you of all people? this has to be a fever dream.
“…for questions on the sociology subjects?” soobin continues. you try and subtly take a deep breath to get the blood in your body flowing again.
“of course!” you smile softly. he pulls his phone out and scrolls on it for a second before handing it over to you. it’s already on the ‘new contact’ page, empty and ready for you to put your information into it. you take it carefully, trying not to let it show how your hands are shaking. typing in your name and number, quickly checking it over and making sure to only put your name and nothing else, you give a slight nod to yourself and hand the phone back to him.
soobin beams and thanks you. the elevator beeps and then creakily opens. you look around again for yunjin and see no sign of her. you start to curse her in your head before remembering that if she was here you would have to get on the same elevator ride as soobin.
thank you yunjin. i love you and you’re the best and i’ll never doubt your ability to get in trouble again, you think to yourself.
soobin walks in the elevator and turns a little, “coming?” embarrassment shoots through you and you shake your head a little.
“my friend…” you start to say before soobin cuts you off with an “oh yeah! sorry about that! it was nice talking to you, i hope to see you soon.” and as the last word comes out his mouth, the elevator doors shut.
finally you feel like you can breathe again. there’s no way that just happened. absolutely no way. shakily you open the messaging app on your phone and type out a message to your friends, demanding that they all come to the chat this instant.
your phone buzzes as yunjin comes barreling around the corner. “sorry! so sorry!”
as she runs down the hallway she continues, panting and out of breath, “stupid bitch was telling me off for forever for sleeping in class and forgetting my book. as if everyone in that forsaken class wasn’t asleep. that’s a problem with her as a teacher and not me as the student.” her phone is in her hand, open to the group chat.
she doubles over and breathes heavily for a couple seconds before lifting her phone up and shaking it a little. she stands up straight and manages to breath out a “what?!”
“i know!” you say, excited and nervous all at once. you tell yunjin exactly what happened, not leaving out a detail, and telling her your inner thoughts. you can’t help but think about how out of a movie this all feels. the popular and unpopular girl and boy. it almost too on the nose, and you wouldn't have believed it if it hadn’t just happened to you.
the hallways are long deserted and you and yunjin boast each other on the what ifs that could’ve happened as you wait for the elevator to make its way back up to your floor.
“what if when i grabbed his hand to put my number in, he pulled me to him and kissed me!” you squeal. yunjin makes an ‘O’ face and points to you, “that would’ve been so good! and then it’s all like ‘time stopped even though it was only a couple seconds.’” she puts her hands over her heart. “‘and the elevator dings as we go into our happily ever ever!’”
you both giggle as the elevator does ding and you step on to it.

Part one of: "The President and his dog"
Average.
A filthy word, you think as your face twists into an ugly scowl, gripping your pen that your knuckles turn white. You were a- no you were THE top student, an epitome of academic success and you were nothing but proud and you deserve to show it.
But as you walk down the corridors head high, You hear your name mentioned into a group of students, And your eyes blow wide as you were described by their words: "I mean, he's pretty cool and all but he's just fucking boring" A girl laughs, her voice loud and high They chuckle and laugh in response
"Yeah pretty average, such a shame"
And here you ended up, marching to your desk, scowling at nothing and eyeing your classmates as they come in into the classroom.
They can't think your boring, You know what happens to people like that, You grit your teeth and you grip your pen tighter, Ostracized, ridiculed, and left out
No fucking way thats gonna happen.
You're smart but thats not the only thing defining you.
Your mind races and your eye catches on something,
A familiar burly figure enters the classroom sporting a striking red jacket that just barely fits his broad shoulders, He looms over his friends as they taunt and smack him in the back for no reason.
It was Toji a repeater in your class, he was at least 3 years older than you-
You drop your pen, arching your brow slightly
Thats it! You slowly grin as you stare at him, he's clearly a jock with the varsity jacket, the build, you just imagine the only way to make you "Not boring" Is to have some drama
And you know just what to do.
oh god, this is gonna be so much fun.

Carl Grant, a Vietnam veteran with dementia, wandered out of a hospital room to charge a cellphone he imagined he had. When he wouldn’t sit still, the police officer escorting Grant body-slammed him, ricocheting the patient’s head off the floor. Taylor Ware, a former Marine and aspiring college student, walked the grassy grounds of an interstate rest stop trying to shake the voices in his head. After Ware ran from an officer, he was attacked by a police dog, jolted by a stun gun, pinned on the ground and injected with a sedative. And Donald Ivy Jr., a former three-sport athlete, left an ATM alone one night when officers sized him up as suspicious and tried to detain him. Ivy took off, and police tackled and shocked him with a stun gun, belted him with batons and held him facedown. Each man was unarmed. Each was not a threat to public safety. And despite that, each died after police used a kind of force that is not supposed to be deadly — and can be much easier to hide than the blast of an officer’s gun.
...
Over a decade, more than 1,000 people died after police subdued them through means not intended to be lethal, an investigation led by The Associated Press found.... These sorts of deadly encounters happened just about everywhere, according to an analysis of a database AP created. Big cities, suburbs and rural America. Red states and blue states. Restaurants, assisted-living centers and, most commonly, in or near the homes of those who died. The deceased came from all walks of life — a poet, a nurse, a saxophone player in a mariachi band, a truck driver, a sales director, a rodeo clown and even a few off-duty law enforcement officers. The toll, however, disproportionately fell on Black Americans like Grant and Ivy. Black people made up a third of those who died despite representing only 12% of the U.S. population. Others feeling the brunt were impaired by a medical, mental health or drug emergency, a group particularly susceptible to force even when lightly applied.
...
Reporters filed nearly 7,000 requests for government documents and body-camera footage, receiving more than 700 autopsy reports or death certificates, and uncovering video in at least four dozen cases that has never been published or widely distributed. Medical officials cited law enforcement as causing or contributing to about half of the deaths. In many others, significant police force went unmentioned and drugs or preexisting health conditions were blamed instead. Video in a few dozen cases showed some officers mocked people as they died, laughing or making comments such as “sweaty little hog,” “screaming like a little girl” and “lazy f---.” In other cases, officers expressed clear concern for the people they were subduing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. The End of the Rainbow
A man and a dog walks by. Then a group of students. Then one person on a phone call.
"Okay, uhhh... try and find someone wearing a bunch of colors."
Vanessa, Gregory and Freddy ('s head) sit by their apartment's window, eyes scanning everyone that passes by. The last few raindrops on the window fall down as the sun shines on their faces like a hug.
"A bunch?" Gregory asks. "How much would a bunch be? Like two, or five colors, whats the limit here?"
Vanessa laughs. "Dude, I don't know! Let's say four. Four colors in one outfit."
Gregory nods diligently, treating this minigame like a quest. The odd little family had spent the day inside after nonstop hours of raining, and people-watching was their one of many ways of entertainment.
Gregory and Freddy fight for victory, while Vanessa's mind wanders off a bit. She starts to focus on the weather more than the people, as rain pours down its last bits of water. Her eyes fall on a specific part of the sky, where it looks.. blurry. She focuses more, now understanding shes looking at a rainbow. The colors are dull, but they're still there, trying their best to shine.
Something about that rainbow felt important to Vanessa.
She comes back to reality to find Gregory off of the couch and now spinning around with Freddy in his arms, like how parents spin their kids.
"Gregory, please be careful!" Freddys warns between laughter. If robots could get dizzy, Vanessa guessed Freddy would be by now.
Vanessa steals one more look of the rainbow and stands up, ruffling Gregory's hair and balancing him while making her way to her bedroom. Clothes and plushies are strewn across the floor, almost with no care. I definitely have to start cleaning up, she thinks. She walks down the path of fallen rabbits and lambs and old flannels to her bed and lets herself fall onto it.
It had only been two weeks after Gregory, Vanessa and Freddy had been freed from the pizzaplex. Years of her life had gone by, and some parts she cant even remember, all because of the virus. But on one hand, Vanessa was glad Gregory was in the same condition. He didn't deserve to remember it. To experience it. To know that he took a part in it.
Vanessa fiddles with her sweater sleeves before she gets right back up and rummages through her closet. An old photo album, something from her mother.
Vanessa looks fondly at pictures of baby her, then pictures of teen her and her friends, with some scenery. The last and most recent picture was of Vanessa and her coworkers at the old VR company she had worked for.
And she noticed something.
Young, 19-year old Vanessa with rainbow streaks in her curly hair.
"..Hey Greg, you wanna go to the store for a sec?"
--
"You used to dye your own hair?" Gregory asked, sitting on the bathtub watching as Vanessa puts a towel and gloves on.
"A lot, yeah. But I barely remembered that it was rainbow once, usually I just did... blue and pink, or something."
"That is a very unique fact, Ms. Vanessa!" Freddy remarked, cushioned on a towel on the floor.
"Really?" Vanessa chuckled.
"Uh, hell yeah. You didn't have to ask for permission or anything, you just did it. It's rad." Gregory piped back in.
Vanessa felt her smile grow bigger as she heard the boy. From what she remembered of her in-between memories (a name Vanessa and Gregory use for the things they can remember when they were under the virus' control) she knew Gregory was a runaway. She never inquired why out of respect, but she thought it was be related to his parents. After all, she did that herself.
"Do you wanna help, then?" she turned around. Gregory practically jumped up at the request, and started opening the packaging.
"I have no idea how to do this, so you're gonna have to guide me." Vanessa took the first few colors, and faltered for a second.
"That's, uh... me neither, actually. God, I forgot that much?"
"Hey, its okay. I'll just grab your phone and pull up a video." Gregory did his best to reassure Vanessa, and she was more than happy for that. Once Gregory left the room, she turned to the mirror and studied herself.
She remembered how the virus wouldn't let her keep her rainbow streaks, especially after that one IT guy told her he liked them. What was his name? She'd have to log back into her company email at some point, if she still even had access to it.
"Are you okay, Of- Vanessa?" Freddy asked. she nearly forgot the bear (head) was in the room with her.
"Yeah, yeah. Just thinking."
"..Would you like to think together?" Vanessa laughed at that. That was Freddy's way of asking if he could hear her thoughts and give her a solution. Vanessa sat down against the bathtub, adjusting herself.
"I'm not sure how to articulate it to you.." she sighs. "Ok. I feel kind of... scared to do this. There's no rational reason why, but I've been dying my hair ever since I was 14. I started because I wanted to rebel against my dad, I guess."
"He wouldn't let you do it?"
"In a way. He didn't approve of it, so of course I wanted to rub it in his face. But something about the rainbow streaks is different. It just is."
They sat in silence. Vanessa was never going to get over how awkward it was to talk to a robot.
"I believe.. it is because you were a different person then. This is before you were controlled, correct?"
Vanessa nods.
"I see. You were different before you got controlled, and you were able to do what you wanted. But when you got controlled, it scared you. It made you listen. And now that you are free, you are still used to feeling like you are controlled. And maybe the virus did not allow you to dye your hair, so you are scared to dye your hair in fear of punishment."
Vanessa cant help but let her jaw drop a bit.
"That was... really insightful, Freddy. How did you just explain PTSD??"
If the bear still had his body, Vanessa assumed he would have shrugged. "I am not sure what that is, but I trust that answered your question, yes?"
"More than enough, bud." She reflected on Freddy's words and smiled at him, waiting for Gregory,
--
The end credits to Rapunzel rolled as the three were cuddled up on the couch. Only a few lights were on, and everyone was doing their best to not doze off(or in Freddy's case, power off). Vanessa had her hair up in a towel, with her sweater visibly stained.
"One more movie?" she asked the room. Gregory hummed a yes, and Vanessa got up to the DVD player and sifted through her collection
"Alright, uh.. 'Beetlejuice'? Is that appropriate for you?" she questioned.
"I feel like I shouldn't be the one to answer that," Gregory said from across the room. "But if you put it on, I wouldn't complain."
Vanessa waited for the DVD player to eject the disc and set Beetlejuice in, getting up to crawl back into her spot on the couch. But her phone alarm went off.
"Oh, I can probably take this out now." she redirected to pick up her phone and went straight for the bathroom.
"I wanna see!' Gregory bolted up, before backtracking to take Freddy with him and following suit.
Everyone huddled around the mirror as Vanessa unraveled the towel and let her hair loose. The right side of her hair was a vibrant rainbow, with her hair still a bit wet, but Vanessa couldn't have been happier. Everyone was in awe of how the color turned out.
"Could you dye my hair blue?" Gregory whispered breathlessly, and Vanessa chuckled.
"We'll save that for tomorrow, squirt."
Gregory along with Freddy made his way back into the living room as Vanessa lagged behind for a bit.
In that moment, it hit her that she was finally free from the virus. From the virus, and from her dad. She now has her own place, with her own family, and shes her own person again.
She liked to think that dying her hair was now a middle finger to both of them. Being free in general was a middle finger to both of them.
And slowly but surely, she was recovering.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Get Out of My Room
Maybe something in Vanny had wanted to let that kid go. She saw herself in their terrified eyes, and how they wanted to be free. Maybe Vanessa had gotten through to her somehow. But none of it mattered, because now she was getting a lecture full of technical nonsense.
"Task failed. Goal not achieved. Goal: bring [ENDOSKELETON] to [MIMIC_01]. [MIMIC_01] breaks off limbs and heads."
Vanny rolled her eyes. She zoned out and paid no attention to the Malhare, waiting for it to stop talking. She was good at waiting. Its all she seemed to do. Wait for commands. Follow through, no matter the command.
"Do you understand, [VANNY]?" the glitching rabbit now turned to Vanny, floating closer and closer until she couldn't take it.
"..Yes."
"Don't let anyone or anything lead you astray. Again."
Vanny couldn't help but snort at the 'again' bit. She recomposed herself. "Yes."
"Good. Rest."
Vanny practically burst out of the ruins of that old pizzeria, pulling that horrid mask off and wanting more than anything to get back into her- Vanessa's office. Their only sanctuary.
But of course, she couldn't have what she wanted.
"What happened in there?" Dr. Rabbit, her coworker asked. Funny enough, her coworker was a 12-year old kid, out of his suit and only wearing a blue Bonnie mask.
"None of your business." Vanny retorted.
"What, did you get grounded or something?"
"No, I won a vacation, actually. So I'll never have to see you again."
"Vacations aren't endless, stupid."
"Oh my god, shut up.." she growled as the kid followed her up to the elevator.
They piled into the unstable excuse for an elevator, and sat in silence as the pizzaplex's distorted theme played.
"Once we change, or once you change, can we grab some pizza?" Rab asked his partner.
"..You're paying." Vanny leaned against the railing.
"No fair, this kid is homeless! And the pizza here is always like $20!" Rab protested.
"That hasn't stopped you yet, has it?"
"Well geez, have some pity."
Vanny chuckled as they reached the top, making sure to step over the debris and rubble. A few feet behind her, she heard Rab shriek and hit the ground.
"Oh my god, are you-" she caught herself. Don't offer help. Remember.
"...I'm fine." he winced.
"You are very obviously not fine." she lent out her hand. It was a few seconds before Rab took it.
"Are you good? Can you walk?"
"Um.. I don't know." he shifted. Maybe it was too awkward for them to be nice to eachother, as odd as that sounded.
"Forget about it, I'll pay for the pizza." Vanny supported Rab as they traveled up the stairs to the empty Roxy Raceway
"Well, I was gonna make you one way or another." Rab muttered.
They both laughed. Maybe they didn't have to be best buddies, but they could be allies. They were both stuck in the same boat.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. (idk what to name this one im tired. update later maybe)
Vanessa tapped the steering wheel over and over and she waited at the red light. Just a few minutes ago, she had gotten a call to come to Gregory's school. She didn't know what to expect. Did he get hurt? Did he hurt some other kid? Was he skipping? The anxiety was eating at her.
Freddy sat politely in the passenger's seat right next to Vanessa, with the seat belt tight on him.
"I am sure it has nothing to do with his grades, Vanessa. He is a smart kid."
"I know Fred, that's the problem. If its not about his grades he could be hurt or something." She turned left down the street where his school was, with the sidewalks full of students coming back from lunch.
"Ok, for.. obvious reasons, you're staying in here. I'll update you as soon as I can, okay?" She told the bear as she settled into a parking spot and closed the door. Her heart was racing at this point.
Vanessa stepped into the school, looking around for the office as groups of preteens walking by gave her weird looks. She looked at a wall with a window and saw chocolate brown hair that she'd recognize anywhere. She strolled over and knocked on the office door, to be greeted by a secretary or a principal; Vanessa wasn't sure.
"Hello, Vanessa." the man greeted her. "I'm Mr. Raglan, nice to meet you." Vanessa shook hands with Mr. Raglan and nodded.
"You too, uhh... so what was the problem? Is Gregory ok?" she asked, hoping she didn't sound like she was on the verge of a panic attack. She was.
"Oh, well the problem.. Let's take a seat."
Vanessa looked to her right and lo and behold, Gregory was sitting balled up in his chair, like a stray dog flinching at a human's touch. His best friend Cassie was sitting in the chair beside him, looking embarrassed to have her first impression to Vanessa be in the school's office. The two kids beside them in their chairs had recently been crying, one of them with an ice pack. Their parents glared at Vanessa, and she immediately looked away.
What the hell did Gregory do?
--
"I'm sure if we like.. posted about it, they'd reach out to us. Right?" Cassie laid out on the grass of the school's playground.
Gregory laid parallel to her. He admired how she thought it would be this easy to find his friends. It had been a year since Gregory broke free of the virus, and learned about his old friend group. Tony(who also happened to be one of the missing kids), Ellis, and Amelia. He learned from Cassie that Amelia goes to a different school, and Ellis and his family had moved entirely. Gregory had lost hope in Tony a long time ago. But theres a part of him that wants to believe he made it out, somehow. Maybe Rab let him go? Gregory wouldn't remember.
"I don't even know if they'd want anything to do with me anymore. To be honest, I always thought Amelia hated me."
"What? No, you guys got along so well! You two are the exact same person. I'm sure of it."
Gregory snickered at that.
"And I'm sure that they're also worried about you. I mean.. I dont know if you'd remember it, but Ellis was a mess when he heard about Tony. He was even worse when he heard about you."
Gregory teared up a bit, considering his options.
"..Yeah, we should try and find them. Where would we post it?"
"Snapchat or Tiktok, I dunno." Cassie remarked. "I still have their accounts."
Suddenly, they felt two shadows over them. A couple of eighth graders; Gregory couldn't remember their names.
"Hey guys, what are we talking about?" the girl asked. Violet, or Vivian.
Crap. Gregory blanked.
"Comics. We're, uh.. gonna make one."
The boy, Mark, snorted. "What, like Captain Underpants? You guys think you're George and Harold?"
"Captain Underpants was kinda good." Cassie muttered.
"That's fair. Y'know, you should make a comic about how Gregory went missing. And with that other kid.. what was his name? Terry?" Mark asked.
Gregory took a deep breath.
"Hey, shut up maybe?" Cassie told the duo, now standing up to block herself between them and Gregory.
"Yeah, like actually don't say that," Violet whispered to her friend.
"Dude, its fine, Greg came back! But the other one didn't.. awww."
Cassie took Gregory by his hand and stormed off. Gregory couldn't be more grateful for her. He was on the verge of crying until he felt his feet go up and his face hit the grass.
"Holy sh-"
Gregory bounced right back up, visibly in pain, but shoved Mark back. He stumbled, but laughed at the push.
"God, at least hit me like a guy."
And with that, Gregory practically threw himself at the kid who was older and bigger than him. But he didn't care about the odds. He was in danger, and he chose fight instead of flight. Students crowded around as Gregory started to zone out and not focus on his actions, and how much his body hurt, but just act. He was pulled apart by Cassie and Violet, with Gregory now noticing the crowd; some watching in shock and some instigating the fight. A teacher emerged through the crowd and pulled them apart like they were small dogs fighting over food.
Gregory didn't care that everyone was watching. He didn't care that the teacher was mad. But what he did care about, is that the principal would definitely call Vanessa.
--
"Is there anything you want to say, Gregory?" Mr. Raglan asked. Vanessa watched as her kid, the kid who just explained his side of the story and how he was attacked, had to apologize.
"..I'm sorry for what I did. It was irrational, and I only furthered the problem." Gregory said in tears. Cassie sat silently as her uncle stood behind her, who had arrived a few minutes after Vanessa.
"Its okay. I'm sorry for starting it." Mark replied dryly.
"..And I'm sorry for taking part in it." Violet admitted, staring at the ceiling.
The principal turned to face Cassie.
"Um.. I'm sorry for saying shut up." Cassie said to Mark, although unsure why she had to apologize.
Some tension had been lifted from the room. Not all tension, but some. Vanessa texted Freddy, telling him they'd be done in a few minutes. Vanessa and Gregory were asked to stay behind.
"Now Vanessa, what punishment do you think would be best suited for Gregory?"
Vanessa blanked.
"Uhh... Detention tomorrow, I'll excuse him for the rest of the day."
Mr. Raglan nodded and excused them. The two awkwardly left the school, avoiding everyone else and made their way to the car. Vanessa moved Freddy to the back seat letting Gregory sit in the front. They sat in silence for a bit.
"...Do you want some Wendy's?"
"Oh my god, yes please."

"You keep stabbing my eye with that brush, sorry that I'm flinching?" You sarcastically say. He rolls his eyes and continues in silence. You guys dressed up as sluts for the party. You're wearing a backless black dress that leaves nothing to the imagination. Meanwhile, Sunoo wore an almost transparent shirt that he tucked into wide dress trousers topped off with a cute beret.
Half an hour later you guys enter a very crowded house. The atmosphere is humid and smells like weed. The music's so loud there definitely will be complains about it. The rap song playing starts giving you a headache. There's people making out everywhere and you catch a glimpse of someone naked running through the corridor. You make eye contact with Sunoo and he shrugs. You guys move towards the living room and look for drinks. "Hi, Sunoo!" Heeseung, who invited him, yells. You friend shyly waves and you nudge him.
"Drinks?" He asks. You nod and wait by a plastic house plant. Two girls, whom you recognise as Ryujin and Yunjin, bump into you but barely notice because Ryujin has her hand in Yunjin's cleavage and they're practically humping like dogs in heat. You quickly divert your eyes and see a group of very loud boys on the couch. One of them whom you know as Riki is shugging down a bucket of pint. You frown because that boy is not of age, but, hey, that is not your responsibility.
Sunoo comes back with a plastic cup and you guys start walking around looking for a spot to sit. Heeseung eventually calls Sunoo over and he walks away leaving you standing there all alone. You sigh dramatically and continue the journey all alone as well. Going up the stairs you almost slip because of a substance and brace yourself while recovering. "Don't even look at it, y/n" you retch and make way up. There's a door on your left and you open it hoping it's the bathroom. And bingo! But upon entering you witness Jake, straight A's astrophysics student, snorting a line from Minho's chest. "Want to join us?" His voice is slurred and you barely make out the syllables. You smile politely and close the door.
What even was that? "I'm assuming you witnessed Jake doing lines?" You jump up at the voice next to your ear. Jay, super-hot-ideal-boyfriend-who-majors-in-business-management-or-something-but-is-super-hot-and-speaks-french-on-top-of-being-super-hot, Park is leaning against the wall where you held yourself up in dramatics. He chuckles at your expression; "I once saw him do it from someone's dick" had to chug down a lot of bleach and I still can't forget. That manages to make you laugh. "Oh, my gosh? Who's dick?" Curiosity killed the cat but you can't help but ask. Jay leans closer to your ear and goosebumps form on your skin. Thus begins the gossip session. Jay tells you all about these parties and you hang onto every word he utters.
After a while he notices that your cup is empty. "Want another one?" You shake your head, "Nah, not a fan of alcohol" his eyes widen and he grabs your wrist. "Let me make you the best mix. So good you'll get addicted to alcohol." Without waiting for an answer he drags you all the way back down to the kitchen. "Addicted in a good way by the way" He shyly lets go of your wrist and locks eyes with you. You giggle because it's Jay Park. "Okay, sir. Blow me away"
As Jay busies himself behind the makeshift bar, you watch his every move with a mixture of fascination and amusement. His confidence is evident as he effortlessly mixes various spirits and juices, creating a concoction that promises to be nothing short of extraordinary.
"You're quite the mixologist, aren't you?" you tease, leaning against the counter as you observe him with a playful smile.
Jay grins in response, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Just wait until you taste it. You'll be begging for more," he says, his voice laced with a hint of playful arrogance.
As he finishes preparing the drink, he slides it across the counter towards you with a flourish. "Here you go, my dear. A special creation just for you," he announces proudly.
Taking a sip, you're pleasantly surprised by the burst of flavours that dance across your taste buds. It's sweet yet tangy, with just the right amount of kick. "Wow, this is amazing!" you exclaim, genuinely impressed by his mixology skills.
Jay's grin widens at your reaction, his eyes sparkling with satisfaction. "Told you it would be good," he says smugly, leaning against the counter next to you.
You both fall into an easy conversation, exchanging stories and laughter as you enjoy your drinks. Despite the chaotic atmosphere of the party raging around you, being with Jay feels like a welcomed respite—a moment of calm in the midst of the storm.
As the night wears on, you find yourself drawn to Jay's magnetic presence, captivated by his charm and charisma. And as you laugh together, sharing secrets and stolen glances, you can't help but feel a flutter of excitement in your chest.
Maybe this party wasn't so bad after all, you think to yourself, grateful for the unexpected turn of events that led you to Jay's side. And as you continue to revel in each other's company, you can't shake the feeling that this could be the start of something incredible.
Eventually, the playful banter and lingering gazes between you and Jay become too much to ignore. With a surge of courage, you lean in closer, your lips brushing against his as you close the gap between you. The kiss is electric, sending shivers down your spine as you lose yourself in the moment.
Jay responds eagerly, wrapping his arms around you as he deepens the kiss, his lips moving against yours with a hunger that matches your own. The world around you fades away as you become lost in each other, the music and chatter of the party fading into the background as you give in to the undeniable chemistry between you.

(8/21) prompt: hallway— 954 words (sweet moments alone) @jegulus-microfic
Getting invited to Euphemia and Fleamont’s anniversary celebration wasn’t odd; he’d met James’ parents by now, been to dinner or other gatherings. Still, Regulus can’t always shake the feeling that he’s intruding by being there when they all get together like this.
There’s an ease in the family, his own brother included, that Regulus hasn’t fully adapted to. He knows they’re great people —look at the son they’ve raised, after all— but it’s hard to brush off the habits built out of self-preservation in his own home.
Regulus can still hear the chatter echo from the sitting room. He hears Monty and Sirius’ boisterous laughter, Effie teasing them further, carrying to him where he leans against a wall a little ways outside the room, collecting himself.
He’s walked this hallway a handful of times now, knowing that the walls are decorated with a collection of pictures, but until now he hasn’t stopped to actually look at length. There’s a whole lifetime of joy immortalized in the frames on the wall’s surface. Effie seems to do a few of the multi-photo frames per year.
Regulus’ gaze catches on one from the year James turned six; gap-toothed and grinning with two thumbs up and a paper birthday crown lopsided on his head. He’s in a brand new pair of rollerblades, the gift bows still stuck to the toes of each one. A couple pictures from a family vacation, another of just Monty and Effie and their dog at the time, and one of a group of friends and family out to dinner together.
Unbidden, Regulus finds a small smile twitching at his lips. He squeezes his folded arms tighter across his chest when the slightest ache starts to bloom. That’s not new, either, the way witnessing such obvious love stings somehow, even when he does get to receive some of it now.
“There you are.”
Regulus looks away from a picture of nine year old James holding up a ‘student of the month’ award at a school assembly, instead letting his eyes fall on a present James. His James. The ache in his chest fades, makes room for the stutter and skip that follows being under James’ adoring gaze. His smile eases wider as James comes up close beside him and kisses his temple.
“Alright, love?” James asks, dragging his hand along Regulus’ lower back in a soothing glide.
“Just needed a moment,” Regulus murmurs.
James nods like he understands. It’s strange, even still, to know that he does. That Regulus has opened up to him enough for him to know some of the complexities of how he feels about things.
“Did you see the baby pictures already?” James gestures a little further down the hallway.
Regulus’ eyes flicker with amusement as he nods. “That one of you screaming your head off on Santa’s lap is a personal favorite.”
“Okay, the man is frightening and I was one, can you blame me?” James laughs, the breath of it breezing through Regulus’ hair. “I’m adorable in the other ones.”
“You were quite a cute child,” Regulus agrees, scrunching his nose faintly afterward. “What happened?”
James curls his hand around Regulus’ side and pinches gently. He looks far too thrilled with himself when Regulus flinches at the contact where he’s maybe, just the slightest bit ticklish. Unfortunately, James has been able to learn those sorts of things about him, too.
Regulus keeps his attention on James even as James’ head turns, hazel eyes flickering over photographs he’s seen hundreds of times. They’re his life, his parents’ lives, the lives of them all together as a family. Regulus knows at a certain point down the next hall that the pictures will likely start to feature Sirius, too.
Here, though, it’s just James as the happy child with a loving mum and dad who did their best to give him the world. It’s nothing but light and joy and a magic all their own —one Regulus is unfamiliar with, has never been sure there was room for in his own life.
As if reading his mind, James quietly says, “We should make our own hallway someday. Like this.”
Regulus’ smile falters, dark brows furrowing together over slightly widened eyes. His stomach somersaults at the mere consideration that a life like that is something James can see. He can see it for them.
Fuck, Regulus loves him so much.
James doesn’t notice his display of feelings right away, glancing fondly over the captured memories on the wall.
“Even for just the two of us, yeah? Trips we take, holiday celebrations. Oh, and if we get that cat you wan—” James freezes when he looks back at him and catches the overwhelming emotion on his face. “Sorry did I— Am I getting too far ahead of myself? I didn’t mean to upset y—”
“James, shut up.” It comes out an exhaled whisper seconds before Regulus tugs at the front of James’ jumper, tilting to bring their lips together.
It’s a soft kiss, lingering and tender; no point other than needing to show his own overflowing devotion, not totally knowing how else to properly express it. Regulus keeps his eyes closed when, after a few long seconds, James touches their foreheads together. A shared sigh, James’ steady while Regulus’ stutters.
“I love you.” It’s not the first time Regulus has said it, but James definitely says it more often, more open with his heart than Regulus has fully learned to be just yet. But he is learning, and James helps him with it each day. In moments like this.
James loops both arms around Regulus’ waist, pulls him against him, presses another delicate kiss to the edge of his mouth. “I love you.”

Story in regards to lying being good.(Aka how I may have managed to make a cop feel bad with it?)
I was walking home, it was raining and I was cold, so obviously I was in a hurry. I came by a street that is now only for pedestrians and public transport, but it used to be a regular street, so it still has stoplights installed. The one for pedestrians was red, but like I said the street isn't allowed for cars, so I didn't think anything about ignoring it.
In my hurry I totally managed to miss a cop, who was a good 150ft away from me on a motorcycle. Instead of simply ignoring me(like any reasonable person would in a big city) he turned on his blue lights and siren and drove after me. He actually broke the speed limit and when I didn't stop walking started driving ON the thin walkway forcing pedestrians to make space. That whole thing is ridiculous enough tbh. I was terrified because theoretically I could lose my license over this(certain traffic laws are weird in my region). He behaved utterly ridiculous, couldn't have been older than early twenties, and obviously got a kick out of humiliating me(group of people was watching and laughing).
My only option was to lie my ass of and pretend like I got a super important doctors appointment and really needed to catch my bus. He didm't believe me but relented to giving me a 5 bucks fine instead, which I payed because I don't want him to take my license instead. But as soon as I gave him the money I started running after a bus that I could have theoretically missed because of this assholes antics.
He was super confused and tried to give me proof of payment. I just screamed "I didn't lie about the appointment, that's my bus" and kept running after the bus. But I did look back one last time and it was worth it because I could see everyone now visibly angry at him and him looking like a kicked dog. Visibly a head smaller looking. And I felt good because what an asshole. He stopped someone visibly younger and smaller, in a student frequented spot, filled with people who are poor and decided now was his time to humiliate and give a ticket for "jay walking" ON A PEDESTRIAN EXCULSIVE STREET. While doing so also endangering pedestrians because he sped OVER THE FUCKING WALKWAY.
This turned away from a "haha he felt bad" to a rant but I still want the takeaway from this to be that cops are clowns(and that's an insult to clowns actually) and lying to them is always good, even on incredibly small stake things.
Not to mention that jaywalking is a crime invented by the auto industry to penalize pedestrians for their role in needless deaths.
Thanks for the story, anon! A friend once got out of a ticket when a cop pulled her over by cutting her finger with a pocket knife, shoving it under her skirt, and then when he approached the vehicle, pulling her bloody hand out of her crotch and screaming that she was speeding bc she was bleeding. good times. lie to the cops folks

Look Like College Student, Is An Trained Assassin.
Fandom: Tokyo Revengers , slightly Assassination Classroom.
Tags: Violence, blood, chifuyu almost got baji-fied ,fluff , a bit of angst, age gap, chifuyu having internal crisis
Characters: Chifuyu Matsuno x Gn!Reader
Timeline:Bonten!Timeline!
Synopsis: Chifuyu almost got kidnapped by Bonten but a college student help him.
Tumblr media
Matsuno Chifuyu always intrigues you, [name], a twenty-four (24) college student who always visits his shop not because you buy pet food, but to play with the cats he has inside, outside, and around his shop. Every time he sees you, it's either you in the alleyway playing with stray cats, near his shop playing with stray dogs, or straight up inside his shop playing with any animal you found and yes, including insect [cockroach and the other, he still doesn't know how tf you catch that cockroach] which make him and Kazutora almost burn the shop down.
Now, Chifuyu is not the type who falls in love with someone who younger than him, he just has a soft spot for a brat like you which Kazutora call it's bullshit because he sees how his face softened when he sees you and how his eyes lighten up when you enter the shop.
If anyone asks Kazutora if [name] reminds Chifuyu of Baji, he would say that maybe, because you remind him of Baji but if anyone asks Kazutora if Chifuyu fall in love with [name], then he will not hesitantly say "fuck yes, he did."
Is it because of your kind nature? hell no, you a fucking gremlin that bites a dog back when it bites you. One time kazutora catch you almost eating a dog treat and if he didn't enter jail once, he will think of sending you to a mental hospital. Or because of your beautiful/handsome appearance, maybe but Chifuyu is not the type who cares about looks.
Then what it is? what makes him fall in love with you?
Because you save his life without any hesitation.
It's happened that night when he on his way back home, walking towards his car Chifuyu almost able to unlock his door car when a blunt force hit his head causing him to crash on the ground. Holding his head, a drop of blood dripped down his forehead causing him to let out a hiss of pain.
He looks at his attackers and his eyes widen when he sees that the one who attacked him is part of Bonten. He curses himself for being careless, using his car as support he loosens his tie as he glares at the group, readying himself to fight.
Now, he might not be a delinquent anymore but that didn't mean he can't fight. But, twenty men is too much for him, he manage to knock out at least seven people before he received another pipe in the head.
With body bruises and head throbbing, Chifuyu can't do anything but lie on the ground. He groans in pain when someone grabs his hair and lifts his head, saying something about Kisaki will pay them money.
Of course, it's that little chicken-looking ass bitch idea.
Just before they can drag Chifuyu away inside that black van, a voice stop them. "Matsuno-san, you being kidnapped." No shit Sherlock is what Chifuyu will snap if it's not because of his weak condition and the fear rushing inside him when he realized the voice belong to you.
Looking at you with a panic eyes, he yell at you to run away but you just stood there, sipping on your box juice as you look at them with exhausted eyes.
"Erm...can you like let him go? If he dead, I can't play with cats and dogs anymore," you say making the men look at each other before laughing mockingly.
"Well, the boss did say to not let any witness."
One of the males walks towards you with a pipe in hand and honestly, after Baji dies he never feels this much fear in his life. He yells your name and begs you to run away but you just calmly staring at the male.
"Funny, karasuma-sensei said to leave no body."
Finishing the juice box you quickly duck down to avoid the pipe aimed at your head. without even waiting, you pull your arm back before punching the male in the face causing him to fly crashing on the ground.
"But, koro-sensei said to make it look like an accident."
You pick up the pipe the male dropped, throwing the juice box away you twirl the pipe around before you rush toward the two males that holding chifuyu.
There's something that Chifuyu notices, or either he goes deaf but the screaming and yelling tell him that he is not. you didn't make any sounds when running or walking, your footsteps are silence.
Your movement is something else. unlike on his delinquent day, when all of his gang members fought recklessly. you are accurate and calculating.
The way you slam the pipe on the guy on his right, it's accurate as hell, because you knock him out in one hit and make sure the wound is not fatal. moving to the one on his left, he is met with a kick on the stomach, and just like that he knocks out. he didn't double over or stagger backward, he k.o in one hit.
Chifuyu's body falls onto your awaiting arms. He feels his heart skip a bit at how gentle you are when you holding him and how protective are your grip is when you pull him closer to you. Slowly losing his concussion, the only thing he heard are;
"Sorry, I am quite possessive about something that is mine."
And when he regained consciousness he now laying on top of the most fluffy bed he ever lay on. and the most heavenly about the bed is? he was surrounded by three fluffy cats, one on top of his stomach, and two on his side. He can just die and end up in heaven. Rubbing his face, Chifuyu notice that his wound is treated and bandaged.
"Matsuno-san, are you awake?" His eyes travel towards the bedroom door where you leaning against the doorframe holding the cutest kitten he has ever seen, second to Peke-J.
"[lastname]...? What-" He then remember what happens early and he quickly sat up, the cats around him didn't even bother to jump away as the one on his stomach roll down to his lap and continue sleeping. "Are you okay?!" He looks at you with worry in his eyes.
"That's supposed to be my question." You walk towards the bed and sit down on the chair beside the bed. Chifuyu's eyes follow your movement and he noticed there is not even a scratch on you. "...You win?" He asks in disbelief.
"Win? Ah, that. Yeah, you can say that." You smile at him causing him to feel a bit flustered because you just take down thirteen (13) criminals on your own and have not even a scratch on your face.
"Matsuno-san...who are those guys?" Chifuyu tense a bit at your question, looking away from you he seem not to want to ask the question or perhaps he just didn't want to drag you into his mess. Seeing that he won't answer your question, you decide to change the subject.
"This is Riri." You suddenly say, looking down at the kitten you holding, "The one on your lap is Lili, the one on your left is Mimi and your right is Bob."
"why the fuck is his name Bob?" Chifuyu deadpan at the different name of Bob, you just shrug your shoulders causing the male to laugh a bit, reaching towards Riri he began to pat the kitten.
You look at him with a small smile, seeing how relaxed is chifuyu now than before. The male notice your gaze and his face is heated up a bit, licking his lips nervously he realizes how close you two are.
"Matsun-"-"Chifuyu." He cut you off making you look at him confusedly, clearing his throat he spoke seriously, "Call me chifuyu, [name]."
You nod your head, smiling bashfully as you repeat his name "Okay... Chifuyu."
He doesn't know what possessed him but as soon he hears his name on your lips he grabs the back of your head before smashing his lips against you. Pulling away slightly, his lips still brushing against you as he looks at you right in the eyes. "Again.." He studies your face, waiting for your reaction, and when he sees nothing but shyness he smirk.
"come on...say my name again.."
"..chi...Chifuyu.."
He can't control himself as he eagerly presses his lips again against you and this time you kiss him back.
Safe to say, before it can escalate quickly, your cats disturb you by meowing like a spawn of satan they are
Request open but not matchup.
Also, I freaking love Chifuyu but he's second to Mitsuya, he's everyone's bae and whoever hates Mitsuya, there's something wrong with you.

Chapter 9 DESOLATE
Summary: Ricks group spends four months on the road after the loss of the farm. Y/n has a painful adventure.
Warnings: Swearing, torture, sa, pregnancy, childbirth, walking dead stuff.
This one ain’t very good but I was feeling ✨chaotic✨ when I wrote it.
Tumblr media
Rick's POV
Lori won't talk to me. I totally get it and its understandable, but that don't make it hurt any less. Her and Carl are the only family I have left, and they've shut me out. I can never forgive myself for allowing Carl to finish the job that I should've done.
We've been on the road for about 4 months now. It's winter and freezing. I'm doing my best to lead this group, but quite honestly, I'm hanging on by a damn thread. Y/n is constantly consuming my thoughts, she's always creeping in the back of my mind, begging to control my thinking. I can't allow it, not with so many people relying on me. It's a never-ending cycle. Walk. Sip water. Find a safe space to stay the night. Sleep. Wake up. Eat as little as possible. Repeat.
We're currently camped out in an old house, supplied with nothing but dog food. They tried to eat it. I couldn't control myself as there ain't no way in hell I'm letting anyone eat that shit. It's a hard pill to swallow, that we're so low in life that the only food we can find is supposed to be eaten by a fucking canine.
I grabbed that can from Carl's hand and threw it against the wall. I just couldn't bear the thought of it. I decided I needed a breather. So, I currently stand guarding the house on the porch.
But here she comes again, consuming every fiber in my being, not letting me breathe, choking me like her life depended on it. I let out a painful sigh, trying to control my emotions. My eyes are brimmed with tears, but I refuse to let them flow.
If she's alive she probably has had the baby by now, or at least she's gonna have it soon.
I shake my head at the thought, not wanting to upset myself even further.
I never shoulda shot down our conversations about kids. I know she wanted them; I know that. But I couldn't stand the thought of becoming my father, treating my child the way he had. I suck in a breath at the memory.
My mind unwillingly flashes to the first time she held Carl. She was so excited, nearly jumping out of her skin. I loved how motherly she looked and how well it suited her. I couldn't help but think of having a mini us runnin through our house. I imagined that they'd have her eyes and nose, my hair and ears.
God, I hope our baby looked just like her. I smile fondly at the memory of her. Her grin when she'd tease me. The way her eyes shone when she was with her students. How she'd laugh at my jokes, even the really bad ones.
My mind begins to drift to a memory of her. She was drunk off her ass when she showed up at my place after Lori's bachelorette party. We'd just started dating and I had no idea what to expect from this other side of her.
"Y/n? What are you doing here?" I asked slightly annoyed as I had an early shift the next day and it was currently 2 in the morning.
She grins as she looks up at me and forcefully stumbles her way in, before falling onto me and gripping my shirt. "Are you single?" She slurs. "You're so handsome." Y/n giggles. I believe she was trying to cup my cheek, but really slapped me as hard as she could. I open my jaw, trying to dull the stinging sensation.
"You're drunk." I deadpan. She erupts into giggles and hunches over, placing her hands on her knees. She suddenly stops mid-gig, stands straight and with a serious expression says, "No I ain't!" She yells, face turning red. I grab her shoulders and start to lead her to the bedroom so we both can get some much-needed sleep. She suddenly turns around to face me, shit eating grin on her face as she trails her hands over my shoulders and around my neck.
I take a deep breath. "What?"
She purses her lips as she tries to hold in another giggle. "Lori told me somethin bout you." She says in a sing song voice. The tips of my ears turn red. "What she say?"
She covers her mouth with her hand and belly laughs. When she finally stops, she has tears in her eyes and she is now pouting. She runs her tongue over her lips and starts to sway, like we're dancing. "She told me" she giggles again before taking a deep breath "that Shane told her" she leans in close, so close that I can smell the alcohol from her breath "that you love me." She whispers before cupping her cheeks and smiling ear to ear.
"Would that be such a bad thing?" I ask nervously.
She slightly shakes her head with her eyes closed, scratching her scalp. Her eyes then pop wide open, and she yawns before turning away from me, heading towards the bedroom. I follow closely behind as she stumbles along, nearly bashing her head against the wall every fucking second.
She sighs as she plops down on the bed belly first, starfish style. I smile slightly at the sight. She may have been a pain in my ass at the moment but I wasn't gonna let her forget about this, that's for sure. I start to undo the strap on her heel, trying to make her more comfortable when her foot suddenly makes contact with my groin. I double over in pain, letting out a groan, tilting my head slightly to get a look at her. She has a pillow aimed at me, ready to beat the shit outta me.
"I have a boyfriend, ya piece a shit!"
I gulp and slowly nod my head, still hunched over. I raise my arm, trying to offer a treaty. "That'd be me sweetheart." I murmur out. She gasps and begins to sob.
"I-I I'm s-so SORRY Ri-Rick." She cries out as she falls onto her back, covering her face with her hands. I let out a frustrated breath and limp my way towards her, still using my arm for protection. "It's alright baby, it was an accident."
"No! It ain't alright! I kicked your baby maker!" She sobs out again. I stifle a laugh and begin to pat her head, trying my best to soothe the woman.
"Can I lay down with ya? I promise I'll keep my distance." I raise my hands, trying to make peace. She frantically nods her head and I lay down on the edge of the bed, as far away from her as possible. She gasps as she looks at the distance, waving her arm on the empty slot before she starts sobbing again. "Ya don love me no more!"
I bite the inside of my cheek as I stare at the ceiling before turning to face her. "I do baby, c'mere." I say a little groggy as I open my arms. She sobs are quickly replaced with giggles as she jumps towards me, burying her head in my chest. I let out a sigh and start to run my fingers through her hair.
"I lo ya too." She mumbles before drifting off. I can't help but have a shit eating grin of my own at her words.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Where the fuck is he?" You groan out in pain desperately wanting your brother at your side. Deanna holds your head, trying to comfort you as you wriggle in pain on the bed.
"He's on a run, he should be here any minute now." She whispers, squeezing your arm.
Pain erupts from your lower region, and you let out a cry. "Nearly there Y/n!" Pete says. You give him a disapproving look, silently telling him to shut the fuck up.
Suddenly the door is thrown open, your brother's limp body being carried by Arthur and Aidan, worry etched on their faces.
"What the fuck happened!?" You yelled out in worry and pain as another contraction wracked through your body. The men lay your brother on the gurney next to you and that's when you see it. The missing limb. Pete looks between you and your brother not knowing who he should help. You groan out partially in annoyance, mostly in agony. "Don't just fucking stare at us! Go fucking help him!" He rushes over to your brother and Deanna takes his place, trying to coerce the baby out and you remember the two idiots who brought him in.
Your mouth goes dry and turns sour, causing your face to scrunch. You glare at Aidan. "What. The. Fuck. Happened?"
"Walker." Aidan says, avoiding your gaze. "No fucking shit dumbass." You seethe. "I know my brother ain't stupid enough to get himself bit, so one of ya fuckers must have had somethin to do with it." You glance at the two men, both of them sheepishly looking at you. Anger boils through your body as you notice the missing fourth man. "James?"
"Yeah." Aidan whispers, looking down at his feet. "He dead?"
They both nod their heads. "Good, now get the fuck out I don't want ya two looking at my fucking vagina no more!" You yell, mostly at Arthur as his eyes never left your naked bottom half. They stare at you in shock. "Now!"
Deanna gasps, "Y/n, I can see the head. That means to start pushing."
Nerves wrack your body as you remember the task at hand. You begin to push. It was almost like the baby was deliberately trying to torture you.
After a good 2 hours, your brothers still knocked out from the pain meds Pete gave him, and the little devil finally managed to escape from your body. Pete smiles down at the baby, holding her up for you to see. "You got a baby girl, Y/n/n."
Tears fall from your eyes. Tears of joy. And tears of pain. Tears of raising your little girl without her daddy.
Pete comes back moments later, your daughter now wrapped in a blanket one of your elderly neighbors knitted for you, and he gently hands her to you. Your lip trembles as you look down at the baby girl. Her short brown hair already curling. You wish you could see her eyes, hoping they would be the bright blue your husband once proudly wore. She had your nose and lips. You trace the outline of her nose before giving it a kiss and smiling proudly at your baby girl.
"Hey lil miss Delilah."

𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐤𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐠𝐨 || 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞
You never imagined you'd become one of the top three students at U.A in your third year. It was odd, and you didn't like people placing high expectations on you. You'd often wonder if there had been some mistake, if you were occupying someone else's place.
No, there was no mistake. Principal Nezu had made his choice.
You sighed, defeated, watching the ranking charts over and over as if they would change. The thought of being some sort of top-dog at your school was a pill you weren't ready to swallow.
— You, dork, Aizawa is waiting for us along with the first graders. The hell are you doing?
Bakugo said, his much taller frame walking up to you as you paced in the hallway with anxiety. Your eyes met his, a pityful expression greeting his gaze.
—I can't do it! What if they laugh? I don't wanna be part of The Big Three! — You babbled, remembering how one of your old upperclassmen would always complain about the hardships of being in such a selective group.
Bakugo sighed, placing a hand on top of your head to make you look at him. His heart was beating hard, savoring the way your face flustered.
—They are fucking kids, just like we were two years ago. You'll do fine! If that damned Deku can do it, so can you.— He said trying to alleviate your sorrows. —Besides, if they laugh I'll kick their shitty asses later during training.
You pressed your lips on a fine line, averting your gaze from him.
— I'd just feel much better if I didn't have to talk to them, you know? Why do we have to present ourselves like that? We are not God's walking among them...— You stuttered, exhausting Katsuki's patience. "This girl will be the death of me." Bakugo thought, although he couldn't deny he found it cute. The blond took a deep breath and calmed down, thinking of ideas that could help you with your problem.
Deciding to allow a more vulnerable side of him to show, he went for it.
—Fine, want to hold my hand?— He offered, extending his arm to you. His skin was rough and calloused, with many scars you'd learnt to admire with time. —Just don't go around telling everybody I did this cuz' I'll fucking deny it.
You smiled, feeling grateful to have someone like him by your side. Accepting his offer, he took your hand and walked you to the classroom in question; Midoriya was already waiting, noticing how the two were holding each other.
—Say one word, I fucking dare you, nerd.— The blond threatened subtly, making his freckled friend grin.
—Don't worry, Kacchan. — He whispered. —But you should confess to her soon, don't you think?

“Oh my god, are you kidding me?” Justine let out an annoyed sigh as she tried to start her car again. She hoped this wasn’t actually happening and that the car would turn on just like it did every day, but all she got as a response to her pleas and prayers was the engine's weak sputtering.
Justine lived the misfortune of having to share the same old car with her 11 sisters. And it made going anywhere a nightmare. If you were going somewhere you had to say it a month in advance or else you’d have to ride the car with at least 6 other people. In order to avoid this problem, Justine usually asks her friend Briar to pick her up and drop her off at the studio. But of course, the one day she decides to drive there herself, the car decides to break down.
As she rested her head against the steering wheel, she wondered what to do. The car had never broken down before (to her knowledge at least) and she was in a part of town she wasn’t too familiar with. This was a disaster, but at least she wasn’t in the middle of the road.
She texted her sisters in the family group chat, hoping they’d try to help. But instead, they just ended up fighting over how this was going to mess with their ride schedule.
“How am I going to get to practice on Friday?”
“Does this mean I can’t go shopping tomorrow?”
“But I have an audition on Saturday!”
“Did you crash the fucking car?”
Sighing once again, she decided to call Briar. Due to her party girl nature, she basically knew everyone, everywhere and everything. She knew about the gardener who got angry at his employer and totally wrecked his backyard, the guy from the highschool up north who sold gourmet candy to other students, that lady from the coast who got angry at her neighbor and dyed his dog green, etc. She definitely knew someone who could fix her car, but the praying wasn’t over yet. She now had to pray Briar was awake so she could actually tell her who that person was.
“Hey Justine! What’s up? Fay, say hi to Justine.” Briar answered the call immediately. “Hey dance girl number 12!“ Faybelle could be heard in the background. Justine heard a bit of shuffling and the muffled noises of what sounded like Briar scolding her partner, telling them to call her by her actual name. Justine smiled and rolled her eyes.
She looked at her watch and noticed time was ticking by fast. She had practice in about an hour. “Hey Bri, hi Fay.. Listen, I'm like in a weird situation right now and I was hoping you could help me out.” Briar stopped playfully arguing with her girlfriend and started to get a little worried. “Yeah, sure. What's wrong?” Justine noticed the worry in her voice and quickly reassured her. “Oh, it’s not that bad don’t worry! It's just that, the family car broke down and I don’t know where to go get it fixed at and I know you know people, so yeah.” She laughed.
“Oh, yeah I could totally help! What part of town are you in? Down south or up north?” Briar responded while walking around her room. Once Justine stated she was going to the studio up north she started to get all giddy. “Ooh, lucky you! People up north are hot!” Justine pinched the bridge of her nose playfully. “Briar..” She tried to defend her point and Faybelle helped her out by using themself as an example. But Justine couldn’t care less about getting some northsider’s phone number right now.
“Can we talk about this later? I need to get to practice, remember?” Briar laughed while pushing Faybelle away. “Right, sorry! So there’s this car repair garage store thing around there. It’s like a couple minutes away from Hocus Latte. It’s called ‘Badwolf’s Hood Garage Shop’ or something like that I don't know.” Justine looked around the street from her car windows. She spotted a shop that seemed to be what her friend was describing, but its name was not what she said it was.
“Is it the one with the basket sign?” She asked and Briar responded with an enthusiastic ‘Yup!. Justine got out of her car and grabbed her bag while thanking Briar for her help. “Oh it's nothing. You should talk to Ramona! Tell her I sent you and make a move! I think she’s single..” Briar said. Justine could practically hear her smirk through her phone. “Whatever…” She walked up the tiny steps leading to the shops door. “Oh and for the record, the shop is called ‘Mr Badwolfs Hooded Garage’.” Briar rolled her eyes and they all said their goodbyes before ending the call.
Justine walked inside the shop and looked around at the decor. Chairs made out of dark oak wood and walls painted to look like trees and flowers. The place really nailed the enchanted forest look and it was beautiful. Due to their town being the inspiration for so many fairy tale writers, it's become a Book End tradition to theme local establishments after fairy tales or fantasy objects. It was great for tourism and a nice touch if you knew the town's history, but above all that, non themed stores just wouldn’t fit the town’s environment. It was called the Village of Book End after all.
Justine figured she must’ve been admiring the shop's decor for too long since she heard someone clearing their throat behind the counter. The person rested their arms against the counter while holding their phone. They looked Justine up and down as if trying to see if they knew her. The gold chain on their neck rattled as they did so. Justine awkwardly walked towards the person with long brown hair and tried to think of what to say. Said person could tell she was awkward by the way her fingers played with the ribbon of the yellow wrapped top she was wearing.
“Heh sorry, got kind of carried away looking at the walls. The theming here is amazing!”
“Thanks, it was my mom's idea.” She smiled looking at the devorated ceiling. “My sister's girlfriend helped paint the walls and shit.” The person behind the counter spoke with a husky voice. Seemingly out of nowhere, someone with a hood appeared.
They stood next to the person behind the counter with crossed arms and you could see anger written all over their face. “Can you seriously stop? Cedar is not my girlfriend.” The hooded girl's sibling backed away from her while laughing and raised their hands up like they just got caught commiting a crime. “Sheesh, my bad! Didn’t think it was that serious.”
Once the hooded girl left, she turned back towards Justine and mouthed: They’re totally dating . Justine held in her laughter and shook her head. Justine's nerves about being on the unknown, other side of town started to disappear. This sibling dynamic reminded her of her sisters and it was comforting.
“Well uh anyways, welcome to our shop!” She leaned onto the counter again. She pointed to herself “I’m Ramona,” and then her sister. “the mysterious, hooded chick over there is my sister. We'll try our best to help but our dad does most of the work so we don't know how good our service will be.” Ramona spoke with sarcastic enthusiasm. Justine nodded in response while Ramona went back to using her phone.
“You don’t look familiar. This your first time coming?” She said while typing on the phone. Unbeknownst to Justine, Ramona was currently stalking all of her friends' socials to try and find out who she was before she told them herself.
They swiftly looked through Briar’s following count, figuring she was the most likely to know someone outside of town. However, Ramona quickly realized she underestimated the amount of people Briar followed on MyChapter and how much the accounts content varied. Shitpost meme pages, house party announcements, theme accounts, local bands and My Little Pony edits? She decided not to question it but she was definitely going to bring it up to her later. Just as Ramona found an account with a profile picture that looked like the woman in front of her, Justine spoke up.
“Oh, I’m not from this side of town, so yeah.” She scratched her head. “I’m from the southwest side of town so yeah I don’t really come up here often. I also don’t use the car a lot, it just decided to break when I use it.” She laughed at her own predicament. Ramona clicked on her profile and spoke sarcastically again. “Wow, you must be very lucky!” She multitasked. Looking through Justine's posts while listening to her talk about how the car broke down.
She noticed she mainly posted pictures and videos of her performing or practicing. Anyone could've guessed she was a dancer based off her current outfit. Baby yellow leotard matched with a wrapped shirt and skirt of the same color. Topped off with a thin baby pink ribbon on her waist to match the bow on her head. All the other outfits on her page fit the same aesthetic and Ramona shifted her head to rest on her palm. She had to admit the style was very cute, she didn’t want to fall for her so quickly. But dammit, she always had a preference for fems.
“So, what do you think is wrong with the car?”
Ramona is sort of a lazy overachiever (if such a thing exists). She felt like she had to do something at all times which is why she constantly multitasked. Studying while cleaning her motorcycle, doing math homework while practicing for a game, bothering her sister while cooking dinner, etc. She usually was able to listen to someone talk while doing something else and totally understand everything they said after.
Keyword: “usually”. Ramona was too distracted by Justine's feed in order to actually pay attention to what she was saying. She knew she was talking about her car, and how it broke down and how she wanted to get it fixed… but that was about it. She could feel her face grow hot in embarrassment, realizing the situation she's in. Fuck, I look like an idiot right now.
“So, uh, did the car like, just stop completely?” Justine gave her a confused face and held her phone up to her chest. The air in the room felt colder as their interaction became awkward. “No.. I turned it off to go to Hocus Latte and when I came back to turn it on it didn’t. That's what I said earlier..” Ramona nodded rapidly while grabbing some papers from under the desk so fast she nearly punched it on accident. Way to go man, you totally blew it.
Justine flashed a small grin, trying to hold back her laughter, as Ramona mumbled in slight pain as a response to her hand scraping against the hardwood furniture. She looked at her as she looked through the papers quickly, taking the time to look at the parts of her outfit she could see from the other side of the desk. A navy blue muscle tank, bracelets of all colors covering her forearms and a red flannel that she could barely see wrapped around her waist. The outfit made sense for a place like this.
The shop wasn’t hot, there was air conditioning in the waiting room and garage itself, but being around car smoke and gasoline probably made the air feel thick and humid. Justine accidentally found herself looking back at her toned arms. Jesus, she must play some sport right? The realization that she was staring for far too long confirmed Briar's statement about people from the north side being attractive.
“Okay so, somethings probably up with the car battery and that kind of stuff takes like 15 minutes so I’ll see if my dad can fix it up for you now.” Ramona jumped over the counter and walked out the back door. Justine sat on one of the stools and tapped her foot on the floor anxiously.
She was nervous about getting to practice late. She had somewhat of a track record of late arrivals, which she was incredibly ashamed of, and hated the idea of adding more to it. Even though her teacher didn’t mind her tardiness, she still felt like a burden to her class. Justine always insisted on staying after class to make up for the minutes she missed and was more than happy to help clean up the studio when it closed. She was really dedicated to her craft but the universe never seemed to be on her side.
Ramona walked back into the waiting room, scratching her head. “So we kind of got a problem here, princess. Your car is old and sort of busted which means replacing the battery is going to take way more than 15 minutes.” Justine shifted in her seat and Ramona layed against the counter with her arms crossed. Both confused as to where that nickname came from. Ramona noticed how Justines blushed slightly but she couldn’t determine whether it was because she was interested in her or because she was embarrassed. She wouldn’t blame her if it was the latter half though. Ramona was cringing at herself for being so cheesy.
“How long do you think it’ll take?” Justine's leg bounced while she bit the inside of her cheek. Was she going to miss practice entirely? Ramona reached her hands over the counter and grabbed the papers she was reading earlier. She looked through them quickly while mumbling different times to herself. “Well, we’re sort of booked for the whole day, so we won’t be able to actually work on it till tomorrow.”
Justine started to silently panic. Are you kidding me right now? Oh my god, please tell me this is a dream. Justine unlocked her phone and started to look through her contacts to see if anyone could get her to the studio. “Ah, but I have somewhere to be today!” She started texting people from her class, asking if they could pick her up but according to Duchess and Ashlynn everyone was already there. She called Briar but it went straight to voicemail. “She probably fell asleep.” Ramona chimed in, trying to lighten the mood. Justine nodded in agreement before freaking out again.
This is it. She was ready to act like not getting to practice was the end of the world. But before she could overreact and walk out of the shop, Ramona stopped her.
“I could give you a ride if you want.”
Silence filled the room for a couple of seconds while Justine contemplated saying yes. Getting into a car with a stranger was a huge no no, but Ramona was friends with Briar. And sure Briar knew a ton of people but she doesn’t become friends with just everyone. She had her standards and Ramona met them for sure if Briar suggested she should ask her out. So she decided to take the risk.
If her dead body ended up being found later she’d come back to haunt Briar as a ghost. “Um, sure okay. Do you know where the Red Shoes Studio is?” Ramona nodded while grabbing a leather messenger bag from behind the desk. Just before she could move away from the counter to walk out the shop, her hooded sister jumped down from the ceiling.
“Holy fuck! Cerise, I told you to stop doing that!” Cerise ignored her sister's scolding and spun some car keys with her index finger while resting her head on her other hand. “Your motorcycle’s busted and you’re not supposed to use dad's car, how’re ya gonna get there?” Ramona groaned and grabbed the keys from Cerises hands. “I’ll talk to dad about it later, he won’t mind. And don’t listen in on my conversations, weirdo.” Cerise reached over and ruffled Ramona's hair while talking back, mimicking her tone. “And don’t call girls princess when you first meet them, creep.” Ramona fixed her red striped hair and mumbled a shut up before walking towards the door. Justine followed soon after, hoping Cerise didn’t notice her skin flushing at the mention of Ramona giving her a nickname.
Once the front door closed shut, Cerise ran to the garage. “Dad! Ramona stole your car just so she could get a girl's number!”
Back in the car, Justine made an attempt at getting to know Ramona a little more. She was Briars friend after all and she wasn’t wrong about her being hot, so why not try to at least be friends with her? “So, you ride a motorcycle?” Ramona started up the car and adjusted the rear view mirror before talking. “Yeah, it was my dads. It's pretty old so it breaks down sometimes but I don’t really mind it.” She looked both ways before riding the car out the parking lot. “It has its charm, I guess.”
“Can’t relate. My family keeps that old piece of junk because we can’t get a new one.” Ramona shook her head while Justine explained her living situation. The idea of having 11 other siblings made Ramona's head spin. She could barely deal with one Cerise, imagine having 10 other versions of her running around.
After a bit of talking, the car ride became comfortably quiet. Ramona had turned on some music and Justine was scrolling through her phone. The silence wasn’t awkward but Ramona wanted to talk with Justine more. “So you do ballet right?” Justine looked up from her phone and towards Ramona. “Oh yeah, I’ve been doing it practically since I was born. It kind of runs in the family. We’ve been going to the same studio for years now” Ramona nods.
“How do you even know where the studio is?” Justine stands upright and turns to look at her directly. “Most people don’t look past the club and think the upstairs is just some storage space.”
Ramona smiled at the last part. “I actually didn’t know about it till like, 3 months ago? My friend takes classes there too.” Ramona turned her head towards Justine. You might know her but if you did I’d feel sorry for you.” Justine shook her head. “Well there are some pretty tough personalities to deal with in my class so your friend is probably one of them. What's her name?”
The car stopped as they reached a red light and Ramona turned to look at Justine. “Duchess Swan.” Justine threw head back laughing. Duchess did take classes with Justine and she understood why Ramona had said that. She’s sort of a difficult person to deal with but she has her best interest at heart, you just have to break a few walls in order to get there.
They talked about their mutual friendship with Duchess for a while. Ramona explained how they met at a basketball game which confirmed Justines suspicions of her playing sports. Ramona was the captain of her school's female basketball team and they were up against Duchess’ school, which was also Justines. Duchess had asked Justine to join her cheerleading squad a couple of times but Justine was still thinking about it. She was already doing a lot. Dance practice, theatre club, plus regular school barely gave her enough time to just chill. If cheer lets me see Ramona more I might consider it to be honest..
“My family’s history with basketball is probably a lot like yours with ballet to be honest.” The car turned right, getting closer and closer to the studio. “My grandpa was a captain for my school's team during his days, then my dad did the same and now I’m living that out too.” Justine was genuinely interested in learning more about Ramonas life. She hoped she would get to see her again but she was too shy to directly ask for her number or any of her socials.
“What other things do you do besides basketball and fixing cars?” Justines asked and rested her arm on the window. “Well, whenever I'm not slouching around and watching TV I read comic books and stuff.” She rolled up into the studio's parking lot and pointed towards Justine. “Oh and I cook! I’m pretty good at it to be honest. I make some mean pasteles.”
Justine decided to take this as a chance to be bold. “I guess I should come over and try them sometime.” Ramona parked the car and smiled at Justine. “You should! I’ll pick you up with my bike.”
Justine shook her head and started to unbuckle her seatbelt. “I am not riding a motorcycle!” Ramona whined. “Aw c'mon, it's not that bad.” Justine rolled her eyes and smiled. “I’ll think about it.” Ramona mumbled a hell yeah and pulled out her phone. Opening up her contacts and placing it in front of Justine. The dancer put her number in and Ramona did the same.
“Now I have to go. I'm almost 20 minutes late.” She rushed out of the car. Ramona lowered the car's window. “I’ll update you about your car later!” Justine nodded at her. She mumbled an ‘okay’ and ran off. She flew through the stairs as she heard music coming from the studio.
Catching her breath, Justine sat on a nearby bench. “You’re late. Again.” Duchess, who had been drinking water outside, said. “Yeah,” Justine breathed heavily. “I know.” Duchess shook her head while closing her water bottle. “You can’t keep doing that if you want a lead role for this year's showcase.” Justine looked at her while putting on her pointe shoes. Duchess walked towards the studio's door. “If it’s difficult for you to get here on time I can pick you up if you want. Just let me know.”
Before Justine could thank her, Duchess walked into the studio. Showing that beneath that judgy exterior, she really does care. While Justine finished putting on her shoes, she received a notification.

[ do you think fish get thirsty? - dreamwastaken ]
A soulmate AU in which the first words ever spoken to you by your soulmate are tattooed on your wrist, and the sentence disappears when you meet them.
tw: a few curse words but thats it :)
gn! reader
This is kinda inspired by those TikTok’s where the people go around asking “what are you listening to” and stuff like that :)
Sorry if there are spelling errors I had to write this on mobile qwq
“You walk slow y/n” sapnap complained as he stopped his fast paced walking to let you catch up.
“Sap it’s literally 90 fucking degrees outside, sorry I’m not fucking heat resistant” you say, half jokingly as you finally meet his side.
“Why are we even out here again?” You question, as your eyes scan over the busy grounds of your college campus.
“To ask people stupid questions for TikTok clout, I’ll do the filming, you do the asking!” Sapnap exclaims excitedly, jumping up and down slightly with joy.
“How did I end up having to ask the questions?” You ask, the slight annoyance in your tone causing sapnap to stop his bouncing.
“Come on n/n! We never do anything fun anymore! And besides… this is your chance to be social! Meet new people! Maybe even your soulmate!!” He says optimistically, as he places a hand on your shoulder.
“The chances of meeting your soulmate before the age of 25 are like one in a billion sap…” you say before pausing slightly for a moment. Sapnap face falls at your words.
“Please n/n? Do it for me?” He pleads to you, giving you the biggest smile he could muster.
You ponder for a moment before giving him a slight nod.
“YES!! We are going to have such a good time!” Sapnap tells you before grabbing your hand and (quite literally) dragging you towards the crowds of students.
You glance down at your wrist for a moment, looking at the small writing that lingered there.
‘Sorry can you repeat that? I got lost in your eyes’. It was honestly so cheesy, yet you could help but smile at the words written there.
You were quickly torn from your thoughts as you ran into sapnap, who had abruptly stopped walking.
“Ow sap what the hell?!” You say to him as you regain your balance. You look up at him, waiting for him to say something. He remains silent, instead he simply stares at a group of passing boys.
“I’ll give you twenty bucks if you ask them the questions” he whispers to you, still not tearing his eyes away from them.
“Why those boys?” You ask, confusion evident in your voice.
"Thats the football team... I have the feeling their answers will be the funniest" Sapnap replies, while slightly nudging you in their direction.
You stand still for a moment, weighing your options.
"30 and I'll do it" You say without truly thinking.
"Deal" He says happily before pushing you forcefully towards them.
You frown slightly before taking a deep breath and walking towards them.
You first approach Sam, hands shaking slightly before you tapped him on the shoulder. He turns around and before he has the chance to speak you quickly ask,
"If you could rearrange all the colors in the rainbow, what order would you put them in?"
He pauses for a moment, before replying.
"Blue, green, orange, red, purple, yellow"
"Good answer" You say with a giggle, before turning back to sapnap and giving him a small thumbs up. He smiles and gives you a wink, which was the best he could do considering his hands were occupied by the camera.
Next, you approach George. Taking in another deep breath as you come face to face with the shorter boy.
“If dogs walked on two legs how do you think they would dance?” You question, watching his face contort to one of confusion. He thought for a moment before replying with
“Like that one banana from the peanut butter jelly time dance” he says with a laugh.
You hold in your wheeze as you nod softly at him. “That’s.. that’s very specific but now that I think about it I can see it” you say to him before turning on your heel to find another person to ask.
You look over the crowd, trying to find someone new to question. A head of blonde hair caught your eye, and you manoeuvre through the group of boys towards him.
He towers over you, and you have to stand on your tippy toes just to be able to tap the man on the shoulder. He turns around and gives you a small smile, his green eyes peering into yours.
You take a moment to admire his features, smiling softly back at him.
“I-um… do you think fish get thirsty?” You ask, not tearing your eyes away from his own.
He remains silent for a moment, his green orbs practically staring into your soul.
“Sorry.. could you repeat that? I got lost in your eyes” he murmurs flirtatiously, tearing his eyes away from yours to look you up and down.
You stand still for a moment, jaw practically on the floor as you looked away from him to look down at your wrist.
It was gone… the writing was gone. You quickly whip your head back up to look at him, and hold out your wrist for him to see.
He slowly extends his wrist out and holds it beside yours.
They were blank.
You both stood in a comfortable silence for a moment before he spoke up.
“Never in my life would I have thought my first words to my soulmate would’ve been some cheesy pick up line.” He says with a chuckle as he rubs his neck awkwardly.
“Never in my life would I have thought my first words to my soulmate were for some cheesy TikTok” you reply, looking up once again to meet his eyes.
He grinned and extended a hand,
“I’m clay, but my friends call me dream” he says softly.
You smile and attempt to extend your hand out to his own, but we’re quickly startled by sapnaps excited yelling.
“N/N HOLY SHIT I GOT THAT ALL ON VIDEO!! YOU FOUND YOUR SOULMATE!! SEE, I TOLD YOU THIS WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA!!” He exclaims loudly, causing both you and clay to wince.
You turn back to look at sapnap, giving him an embarrassed glare. He mutters a small sorry before backing away from the two of you.
“Sorry about him, I’m y/n” you say before extending your hand out to him once again. He shakes it with a smile, and turns it over to give it a small kiss.
Once again the two of you are overcome by comfortable silence, his hand still holding onto yours.
“So um… could I get your number? I mean we are soulmates after all, I figured I need some way to get to know you better. Or, better yet I could always take you out sometime! A good looking person like you deserves the best of the best, y’know?” he says with a cheeky grin.
God you barley even knew the man and his smile was still enough to make you weak in the knees.
“Yeah.. yeah, I’d like that”

DubChaeng (Dahyun x Chaeyoung) - “Worlds Apart”
Tumblr media
My longest one-shot so far! Sorry for quite a long delay. Man, I'm definitely feeling the consequences of having a college life. I'm lacking on available time to do things that I want, such as writing stories like this. Enjoy reading!
Tumblr media
Dahyun was on her way through the lockers beside the hallway after entering the school more than half an hour remaining before the classes start, where she had a scheduled meetup with her friend from another section named Irene.
Searching for her keys inside her wallet as she continue walking, she did find it right at the time where she had to raise her head up; meeting an unfavorable sight that quickly annoyed her mood this morning. Great, she thought. Her day is just beginning yet she has to contain herself facing this situation again.
With her own eyes, she's clearly seeing Irene who is standing while forcefully making herself look unbothered being in between this group of male and female delinquent students circling her.
Dahyun knew that Irene knows who these people are, and Dahyun certainly does sure that she's thinking what she's thinking too.
She knows these trash, pathetic teens are insufferable as always. She didn't expected it though that there will be a time where Irene would eventually take their attention, and that is happening right now.
She paused on her tracks as she stood just few steps away from the group who is unable to notice her presence being close yet, occupied with dealing on Irene who instead already caught her watching them.
A helpless expression suddenly became visible on Irene's face that shouts a desperate need of help right now from Dahyun, and the pale clever girl clearly understands it.
"Just try it out or something, we'll have fun I promise you that.", the leader of the notorious ruthless gang that preys on the weak students around the campus named Chanyeol once again pulls out another plead he has in store in him.
"And why should I listen to you? Why me anyways?", Irene looked up fiercely at Chanyeol.  "Do you guys have nothing to do again that you two just randomly picked me and belong to your list of bullied victims, huh?"
Chanyeol only smirked, the rest of his members just stiffled a laugh. "Wanna know why?"
He quickly went forward, narrow his gap even closer to Irene who ended up colliding with the wall and completely trapped in front of Chanyeol.
Dahyun gaped her mouth, became even more worried for Irene on facing them alone.
"I have my eyes on you ever since you guaranteed to got my attention and I could say... well damn they ain't lying that you are indeed beautiful, Bae Irene.", Chanyeol grinned as his hand on the wall placed beside Irene's head.
Dahyun found Irene's body starts to shaken. She's definitely sure that the poor girl must be nervous and terrified of whatever Chanyeol is planning to her.
She gulped as her fists clenched tight, mustering up her courage to stop this and help her friend who is in danger.
"You had me having interests with you. Those bastards I see being with you like stupid dogs following around you, I admit... I get jealous many times.", Chanyeol said while gritting his teeth at how irritating it made him felt speaking up that experience he had.
"So I can't take it anymore. I have to move and make you mine, so why don't you just take it a shot, Irene. Who knows? We might be fitting, we can take over the entire campus as the leading couple around.", Chanyeol spreaded his arms and roamed it around to elaborate what he's saying along with his dreamy look.
"Do you want it? Would you get out together with me?"
Irene just stared at Chanyeol, speechless of what she is going to respond to the leader's proposal. She clearly does not want anything involved with a heartless guy like him but the problem is that she just don't know how will she say it.
She can tell it right away that if she declines, she'll get hurt.
Before Chanyeol gets more impatient from waiting on the answer...
"Irene-ssi! There you are! Sorry I'm late!", Dahyun just casually appeared and pretends to walk hurriedly towards Irene. Chanyeol and the rest of his gangmates just looked at her weirdly and confused.
"D-dahyun...", Irene muttered.
Dahyun looked aside and saw the gang's crumpled foreheads and eyebrows squinting at her. "Oh sorry, I didn't know you're talking with them. Did I interrupt something important?"
"You do, now can you please do me a favor and leave us both alone for a while you idiot.", Chanyeol looked at Dahyun seriously and spoke to her with angst. The girl just widened her eyes, portraying that she didn't saw that curse coming.
"E-eh... Oh sorry. I'm about to excuse her but I guess I'll be just waiti-", Dahyun's about to finish her words when Irene interjects and threw a dagger of stare at Chanyeol.
"N-No, Dahyun, nothing's wrong now. We're done now anyways so let me join you.", Irene joined your fake approach as she tried to escape Chanyeol's trap but the leader tugged her arm and gripped it harshly.
"Where are you going? Who said you can leave ready?", Chanyeol said after Irene rotates her body to face him.
"I don't like you Chanyeol okay? You want an answer? Leave me alone please, stop disturbing me because I have no desire to hang out with the likes of you.,", Irene said sharply, leaning her face closer to make him hear it clearly as she forcefully sweep his hands away from her skin.
Chanyeol reacted with a twitch of anger in his lips, pent up anger building up in him.
"GRAAAHHH!!"
He pushed Irene with frustration, causing the elegant schoolgirl to nearly crash into the ground but thanks to Dahyun, she quickly catch her and prevent her from falling.
"IRENE!"
"That's a huge loss you had there, Irene. I was giving you an opportunity already. Ain't no man can satisfy you much as I can do for you.", Chanyeol retorted. "But instead you had the dare to cancel me and rather what? talk to this nerd?"
"Chanyeol!", Irene scolded him with a shout of his name as she didn't liked what he used to call Dahyun.
"Stop and leave her alone okay? Irene said no already, so stay away from her!"
"Shut up nerd, don't command me like that.", Chanyeol then pointed his finger warningly at Dahyun who became anxious. "I don't even know who the hell you are so don't tell me what I shall must not do.
He then stepped forward and squats in front of Dahyun and Irene who both look unimpressed to match their level.
"But you know what... you have guts, huh. I'll remember you for that.", Chanyeol stared intently at Dahyun who repayed him the same manner and just listened at his comment that either she felt being warned or complimented at the same time.
As no one ever dared to speak up after that. Irene thought that this is the time where they had to leave and not waste any more time with this irrelevant moment.
"Let's go, Dahyun." Irene insisted.
Dahyun helped her slowly stand up on her both feet again before leaving one last annoyed glance at Chanyeol who is still crouching while sniggering devilishly at them.
They made a few steps away only to halt when Dahyun crossed paths with somebody that she used to know before who just arrived at the scene, clueless about what happened but immediately guessed how it occurred.
Dahyun's grimace got deepened at the sight of her while Irene just looked worriedly at Dahyun as she recognized the woman in front of them.
"You shouldn't have get in the way."
Dahyun scoffed and ridiculous rolled her eyes on this person who was once a special person to her life, now turned into a forgotten past.
"I did what I had to do, it's my friend. I chose to save her.", Dahyun replied. "Most importantly, I chose to follow the person who cares about me... so don't tell me that as if you can even do it."
Dahyun gave one last offended glare at her before proceeding to walk away pulling Irene by her arm.
The girl on the other hand just hurtfully watched her disappear after unable to dodge the painful facts that Dahyun just made her realize again.
--------------
Later during recess, the campus gang smokes cigarette in their favorite area in the campus: behind one of the senior high school buildings where they did some many troublesome things discreetly from the officials for them to get caught.
Chanyeol who is currently savoring the taste of his bubblegum flavored vape remains silent as he replayed what happened earlier when his gangmates began talking about it.
"Then that weird girl just interrupted our business like as if she didn't know who she just messed with."
"Imagine disrupting a conversation with the famous gang leader and king of the campus Chanyeol being involved. Does she really even know how fucked up what she did."
"Heh, I bet she doesn't. Say, what if she made her realize the consequence of doing it?"
That suggestion coming from his fellow gangmate made Chanyeol to woke up his senses back as it reminded him of what he just said to Dahyun before leaving.
"You know... I like your guts, huh. I'll remember that."
He puffed one more bubblegum smelled smoke in his mouth before playing the vape on his hands and avoid looking at his followers as he gather all the question popping in to his mind.
"That girl... her name was Dahyun, isn't it? Irene called her that earlier if I'm not mistaken.", Chanyeol curiously asked.
"Yes, boss.", one of his sidemen named Sehun answered.
"I'll give it to her, she may look weak but she's courage enough to step in to my business.", Chanyeol tilted his head. "But then again, I'm sure all of you know what is one of the things I hated the most."
All of the gangmates went silent, seemingly knowing where is their leader's point going ahead into.
"Meddling with me especially if you're a nobody.", Chanyeol clenched his fist. "And what she did earlier made her prove what does a person like that I despise."
"You all must've heard what I told her before we let them go. I admire her guts, and I really do. Because nobody has ever done it like that to me.", Chanyeol finally revolved his sight around his gangmates.
"I told her that her deed was remarkable, and she might have no idea how it's actually offensive in my part."
"We let them go, but that doesn't mean we're setting them free... especially her."
"However though, there's something I pointed out earlier that seems... fascinating to me.", Chanyeol caressed his chin.
"Anyone including me has no idea who she is.", Chanyeol looked at the rest who agreed as they nodded their heads, except for someone.
"But... there's this one of us who doesn't seem like it."
All their gazes went directly to the only woman in their group who is sipping her strawberry lollipop. She also looked back to her friends with guilt, understandably knowing the meaning behind their looks.
"Chaeyoung. Come here.", Chanyeol did a 'come hither' hand gesture to Chaeyoung who followed right away, stepping closely beside him.
"Based from what I saw a while ago, have you... and Dahyun know each other?"
Chaeyoung took out the lollipop in her mouth to allow her to respond. "Yes."
The members listened attentively more to their conversation as their curiosity risen also.
"Were you and Dahyun... close?", Chanyeol asked, squinting his eyes.
"O-once." Chaeyoung solemnly answered, slightly stuttered at the word. "We were close before."
"Mmmhmm. So, are you two what?"
"B-bestfriends. She was my bestfriend."
Chanyeol nodded, pursing his lower lip interestingly. He glanced at Chaeyoung, turning his head to the side.
"Do you still consider her as one until now?"
Chaeyoung matched Chanyeol's anticipating stare.
"Like I said. WAS. That was before. We were no longer like that in the present, so as I am to her."
"Good to know then. So... you won't mind that we'll target her next and your side will remain with us, right?"
Chaeyoung gulped and blinked her eyes rapidly when he said that.
"R-rest assured, Chanyeol."
Chanyeol nodded, patting her on the shoulder before urging her to lean her face closer, giving Chaeyoung a kiss on her cheek which sent a red fuming blush in react for the girl.
The bell then rang, alarming everyone to return back to their respective classes now that the recess is over.
"Goddamnit, I hate it when break passes fast.", Chanyeol grunted in annoyance.
"That boring ass Math subject is coming up next, let's slack off and avoid boring ourselves to that wack class Mr. Shin has."
----------------
Dahyun and Chaeyoung's friendship before can be described as joyful and strong. They were unseperable. Two different personalities, but each share the same preferred way to make theirselves entertained.
They were buddies, always together whenever they want to do so many things that will assure them happiness. Everyone who sees them probably thinking that this two are just so perfect for each other that other would began to think and see them differently being actual sisters rather.
That wholesome connection they built between each other because of the friendship they had for each other made them wish it would never end, especially for Dahyun who already sees Chaeyoung as a special person. A loved one and a family.
That is... until one day, something happened that changed everything drastically, which would lead to the start of their fallout.
Dahyun haven't met Chaeyoung for two days now, after swearing that they'll have a scheduled stroll in the mall on weekends; but it didn't happened because Chaeyoung didn't appeared or so.
What she did doesn't make her angry. Instead, she was worried.
When she decided to come to Chaeyoung's house, she was greeted by her mother Mrs. Son who looks devastated as the evident cries in her face was presented to the youngster. She may not be shedding tears anymore but she can call that it does looked like she did.
"Why are you crying, Mrs. Son?", Dahyun thoughtfully asked the mother.
"U-uh... this? W-we just had a fight with my husband..."
"And Chaeyoung? How is she? Is she there?"
Mrs. Son remained silent.
"Dubu... that's what I don't know."
"What do you mean you don't know?", Dahyun furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
"I know she's not okay after hearing and seeing what happened in our family but... I don't know what she's doing right now about it.
"She... just walked out of the house. Didn't she came to you?"
Dahyun shook her head, with fear and concern in her face. She began thinking of Chaeyoung immediately. "N-no, she didn't."
"Oh god... I hope she comes back soon.", Mrs. Son began crying again, enough for Dahyun to quickly comfort the poor woman.
"It's okay, Mrs. Son. I'll help you find her. She will be alright. Nothing wrong's gonna happen to her."
Dahyun excused herself to began looking for her in the middle of the night. Her search didn't last long though when she saw Chaeyoung walking slowly alone in the sidewalk, her head bowed down in sadness.
"CHAE!"
The girl heard that familiar voice. Lifting up her head, she met Dahyun's sight of her running closer to her before engulfing her in a tight, warm hug.
"D-Dahyun...", Chaeyoung's tears fell at her friend's touch.
"Sshhh... it's okay. I'm here. Where did you go? I heard what happened, so I came to look out for you."
"I- I just strolled around for a while. Took some fresh air to calm myself down."
"You got me worried about you Chaeng. Don't leave alone next time okay? Wherever you go, I'll either join you or find you when you need help."
Chaeyoung can't help but to just nod, speechless enough for Dahyun's easing words.
She just deepened her hug onto her friend. "T-thank you, Dahyun."
"Always welcome, bro. Come on, let's get you home."
After that, they talked about what happened. Chaeyoung shared that it's a family matter regarding her father and mother's relationship. She learned that her mother got mad of her father for acting cold and uninterested these days whenever he'll come home or he is indeed in the house.
Her father didn't like hearing those accusations, so he began spitting out some hateful remarks and turned mad for his wife on blaming him for lies. That's where the altercation began and Chaeyoung was just only there, begging for them to stop as she watches them fight in the living room while sobbing in the stairs.
The couple stopped when Chaeyoung who can't contain this anymore, had to left the house for a while to let them know the damage they've done as parents. She didn't knew that the father then locked himself up in the bedroom after what happened, and her mother got even more mad that her husband didn't even bother to look for her daughter who just walked out in the middle of the night.
Dahyun sends some assuring and comforting messages for her friend to keep her positive. That didn't last long when two days later, Dahyun found out that Chaeyoung's fear came true.
Her parents broke up and her father left them alone after admitting that he was indeed cheating on his wife.
Now having a broken family, that made Dahyun concerned more for Chaeyoung, especially when she joins her everyday after the news was received; she noticed that Chaeyoung's mood got worsened. She looked gloomy, pale and weak everyday.
She didn't know that as days passes by, not only her mood changed entirely... but also her personality.
Dahyun noticed and figured out that it all started when she caught Chaeyoung meeting with some students who are famous for being delinquents and troublesome around the campus. They are a gang led by Park Chanyeol and all that Dahyun knew one thing about this is that... this doesn't look right at all.
Knowing how great Chaeyoung is as a person compared to these people and now that the opposites are meeting together, it became alarming for her.
It continued. Dahyun got to witness subtle changes on Chaeyoung. Her attitude and ego went bigger, she started using some curse words, she barely meets up with her and if she does, she looks forced and uninterested. She even got to do some tattoos around her skin which shocked Dahyun more, knowing that Chaeyoung used to despise these.
One day, Dahyun finally had enough of this; watching her friend slowly losing the version of her friend she mostly liked being around with.
She knew exactly where Chaeyoung's location might be and she was right. She located at one of the favorite spots of the gang, that one bench under the tree that they self-proclaimed own.
She might be waiting for the others who belong to the gang managed by Chanyeol. But she didn't care. She has to confront Chaeyoung and end this now.
"Chaeyoung."
Her friend looked at her.
"Oh, Dahyun? Wassup."
"Can I talk to you for a second?"
"Uhh sure? But go faster please, they are coming soon."
"Who? Them? I don't care."
Chaeyoung raised her eyebrow. "Excuse me?"
"I have to talk to you, Chae. Right now."
"About what is it then? If that won't be worth my time then-"
"It's about you, Chae. And really, you don't really care that much now at what goes on with us?"
"It's not like that, okay? I'm telling you that they're coming and I don't want to get in trouble."
"So you prioritize being with them much than to sincerely lend atleast just a minute to talk with me, is this what you really are now Chaeng?", Dahyun complained. "And I don't need you to warn me. I'm already in trouble now, Chaeng. Ever since you got to get close with them you just started to become... different."
"Dahyun, what are you saying? I'm still your friend and I'm still here."
"That's not what I'm talking about Chaeng. The version I've known of you. There. That's the one who... went gone. I couldn't even believe I'm seeing you like this."
Chaeyoung remained silent.
"Wearing tighter uniform, drinking beers, smoking cigarettes, curses and attitude, even that tattoos that are imprinted in your body. That's not that Chaeyoung I've known once.", Dahyun enumerated.
"And that all started when you let yourself hang around with them which I don't even know how did it started.", Dahyun continued. "But this isn't right. I know it, and I can see it on you, Chae. They are a bad influnce. They changed you for the worse when you were broken."
In Dahyun's surprise, Chaeyoung reacted with a laughter.
"Really? That's how you see it? That's bad, we are not alike. I am enjoying it though."
"You like what they're doing to you?!", Dahyun unbelievably reacted. "No, Chae. This isn't right, you don't know what's happening to you. They've turned you into someone I didn't want you to be."
Dahyun grasped Chaeyoung's shoulders and looked at her deeply.
"Chaeyoung, you must stop meeting and hanging around with them. Think about how it affects us, me as your friend, your mom who only has you left in her. Don't let them change you for something you aren't."
Chaeyoung stared at Dahyun for a second. Her silence made Dahyun keep her hopes up that her words somehow made her friend reconsider things and choose the right decision.
That didn't worked well however, as Chaeyoung started to slip Dahyun's hands away from touching her shoulders and turn her body around, her back now facing Dahyun.
Dahyun observed that Chaeyoung was shaking her head.
"No... you're wrong. I became better. They're not as bad as you think they are. They helped me feel better when I was down."
"Chaeyoung, really?! I WAS THE ONE WHO WAS THERE BY YOUR SIDE RIGHT FROM THE START!"
"YEAH, AND YOUR COMPANY WASN'T EVEN HELPFUL!", Chaeyoung turned around again just to shout directly at Dahyun. The latter got taken aback, astounded at her sudden outrage and her... offensive words.
"You may be the one who came to me at that night, but all the words you said to me was nothing but what ifs, false hopes and lies. Everything you said didn't came true like you and I wanted to be. But do you know what differs you from them?"
Chaeyoung placed her hands on her waist as she looks fiercely at Dahyun who is listening to her.
"You failed to put me back together, but they weren't. They showed me different, new things to try... and I never known it would be so much better than the ones I'm having with you."
Dahyun got hurt at Chaeyoung's words more.
"Now go away before I finally change my mind. Don't make this worse, Dahyun."
She turned her body around again to return back to the bench but to Dahyun's side, she won't let it end this way anymore. She has to make her stop.
"No I won't leave unless you have to listen to me. Please, Chaeyoung stay away from them. I'm doing this to-"
"SHUT UPPPPP!!!!"
She haven't got to finish her words when she didn't expected what happened to her afterwards.
Chaeyoung slapped her hard right in the face, causing her to lean away and grasp her stinging cheek.
The hand Chaeyoung used remained raised and upright, shivering as she halted in shock as she just realized that she just slapped her friend.
She hurted her bestfriend physically for the first time.
"D-Dahyun?"
Dahyun slowly turned to her, Chaeyoung got shocked at her eyes forming pool of tears begging to get released while still caressing her assaulted cheek.
"O-oh my God. I-I'm sorry... I-"
She was about to touch Dahyun to help and apologize more but she got prevented when Dahyun stepped back and dodged away from her.
"N-no... don't come close to me..."
"Dahyun..."
"I finally understood all along. You are not her. You are not the real one I met and cherished. You chose others than me who cares more for you.
Chaeyoung, you were no longer a friend of mine I used to have."
Chaeyoung became speechless at what Dahyun just said. A teardrop finally fell straight to the cheek she just slapped with and that was the last thing she saw before she leaves.
The two never talked about what happened, Chaeyoung didn't wanted or dared to beg for forgiveness again to Dahyun anymore, since her bestfriend who now turned to become a former never wanted to associate things with her again, finding ways to ignore her completely whenever she tries to find her.
That one slap made Chaeyoung to lose Dahyun, and Dahyun accepted the fact that her friend was now truly gone.
---------------
THE NEXT DAY
"Let's continue later, okay?" Irene respectfully paused their topic they were discussing while they are walking away from school as they've already reached the roads where they have to seperate ways on their way home.
Dahyun realized ahead that this is the part where they have to bid each other goodbye for today after Irene mentioned it. "Yeah sure unnie. Bye! Be safe!"
"You too, Dahyunnie!". They waved hands at one another with a smile. Irene initially continued to walk and make a turn to another street while Dahyun waited for the cars to allow space for her to cross the road.
The cars passing through get lessened and Dahyun finally was able to cross through the pedestrian lane properly and step onto another sidewalk of another street.
She walked alone, silent, mind usually filled again with thoughts regarding the lessons they've learned hours ago and brand new activities that were assigned to them; being the brilliant and responsible student like she always is.
However, her taking of notes mentally had to stop temporarily when all of a sudden she was about to pass an alleyway, a group of fellow familiar students of hers from the same school blocked her way.
Dahyun paused her tracks and traced all of their faces. Her smile faded rapidly as her eyes landed to Chanyeol's devilish smirk.
"W-what do you all want from me?", Dahyun cautiously asked them, one foot went backward like she's ready to defend herself from them after sensing an impending danger brought by them.
"Easy there, ghost. This won't take long, as long as you'll cooperate.", Chanyeol said. "Take one more step back and we'll make sure you won't go away until we settle things off. Although, if you do want to go home with a broken feet."
Dahyun gulped in fear. Sweat starts to form and emerge in her skin, dripping in terror at what these hotheads want to deal with her.
She looked next at Chaeyoung who is the next person she immediately noticed. Standing beside them, only looking at her with a blank and unbothered demeanor.
"I won't run off, I just want to know what are you all doing here. Did you all just hide and waited for me?"
"Thanks for stating the obvious, nerd.", Chanyeol replied, making his members laugh but Chaeyoung remained expressionless. "Well, you're right. Now that you're wondering why, well we'll go straightforward and not waste any more time."
"What is it?"
"Apologize.", Chanyeol sternly said.
"For what? Yesterday?", Dahyun asked. "You were the ones who started it. You cornered Irene and forcefully asked her to go out with you even though she doesn't want it. My friend was frightened and alone. I just came there to help her, and now you want me to apologize when you are the one to blame?"
"No. I think you're mistaken. YOU are the one who should apologize, Chanyeol; especially to Irene.", Dahyun pointed her finger at him bravely.
Chanyeol chuckled and looked aside to his friends. "Look at this bitch. She wants me to say sorry." The rest just shook their head disapprovingly.
"Like I said, I admire your guts; but I won't let it pass when I'm the one you're opposing with."
"AAAAGGGHHH!!"
Chanyeol quickly grabbed Dahyun's hair and pulled it tight. The schoolgirl just shrieked in pain.
"Nobody tells me to apologize, do you hear me? I'M ALL OUT OF MERCY. I call things around here!", the volume of his voice began increasing as well as the level of her grip to her smooth long black hair. As expected, Chaeyoung was still watching her without doing anything.
"AWWWWWW L-LET ME GO PLEASE!"
"Then apologize! I told you already that this will be quick if you just cooperate, now look at you pathetic bitch. How long will your courage last now, huh?"
Dahyun didn't said anything. Chanyeol's impatience intensifies so what he did next is that he laid Dahyun's face on the concrete surface of the road and presses his knuckles on the side of her head.
The girl exclaim awfully, can't take the abuse of this cruel guy threatening her just to say sorry for something she's not even the one at fault.
"APOLOGIZE!!!"
"O-okay! Okay!!! I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry! Just, let go off me!", Dahyun's pleads finally urged her to do something without no more other choice but to say the words this bully wants to hear from her.
Her breaths became heavy as Chanyeol finally lets go of her hair and head, allowing her to clutch herself in pain.
She kneeled. Chanyeol raised up her face by cupping her in the chin, making her to equally measure the level of their faces staring at each other.
"See, that wasn't hard to do; you're just too hardheaded that you didn't want it instead.", Chanyeol once again smirked. "You did said sorry, but... you know me; I'm not an easy person."
Dahyun just gritted her teeth, still enduring the stinging sensation of her head and scalp from the pressure Chanyeol just put in her.
"To show that you mean it and to teach you a lesson that you must know the person you're messing with, I'm giving you a mission to do for us."
Dahyun sighed, unbelievably looked at Chanyeol. She thought this was over and one sorry was enough but how dumb is she to forgot that Chanyeol is a bad person.
"Starting tomorrow, you'll be the one who'll do the homeworks for us for the whole month. We have an assignment tomorrow in English. Reaction paper about The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. Make one for all of us."
Dahyun's eyes widened in shock. This is just so mean, she thought. She doesn't deserve this at all, it is simply injustice to be the one who'll get a punishment when she's the victim and the defendant here at the same time.
"If you won't and we ended up incomplete or late; I'm going to make you regret disrespecting me more. Do you understand?"
Dahyun was silent, still couldn't believe about what's happening to her.
Her silence didn't last lomg when the impatient Chanyeol hit his palm again on her head, causing a small ouch sound out of Dahyun's mouth.
"I- I'll do it."
"Good. You can go home. One more thing, don't you dare report this to anyone.", Chanyeol gave her one last warning before walking away with her friends including Chaeyoung who just watched her former bestfriend get hurt like it was no effect from her. "Let's go, there's a vape shop near here. We'll take a visit."
As they left, the abused Dahyun couldn't hold her tears anymore as she started crying due to Chanyeol's unfairness and heartless actions while the person who was the one who doesn't want to see her torn apart before can now endure seeing her like that.
Like she always thought, she's just a forgotten past of Chaeyoung's memories.
---------------
As they were now meters away from Dahyun, Chaeyoung finally drops her cool and disguise as she kept on hearing Chanyeol brags about how Dahyun looked horrible on being in his control, resulting in her forced surrender.
"What the hell was that, Chanyeol?!" Chaeyoung interrogates Chanyeol, stopping him from mocking and teasing Dahyun's pity state at what happened a while ago. All of their eyes landed on her.
"I thought we agreed not to put your hands on her?!"
"I can't help it." Chanyeol said faking nonchalantly. "She doesn't understand the situation. She doesn't know how fucked up she is by opposing us. That's why I have to show and remind her how me and our gang are the most fearsome individuals around the campus."
"But still, you don't have to do it. We talked about it, right? You could've let me handle it." Chaeyoung objected.
Chanyeol chuckled, squinting her eyes at Chaeyoung with a wide grin plastered in his face. "You, huh? Why? You going to go easy on her instead?"
Chanyeol walked towards Chaeyoung, his towering figure and serious demeanor intimidates the short and sassy girl.
"W-what?"
"You can't take how your friend looked and sound defenseless, don't you?", Chanyeol said. "Does she still affects your soft spot in your heart? Do you... wanted to help her in that instance rather?"
Chanyeol leaned his face closer at Chaeyoung who backs away, gulping and throbbing nervously at how scary his aura has shifted.
"N-no. I just want her not to become a burden for you to manage, Chanyeol. I know her, you don't have to go that far. You have many other things to focus on, lend her to me and I'll be the one who'll do the first move."
"What makes you so sure?", Chanyeol crossed his arms and looked at her interrogatively.
"Because I'm her weakness.", Chaeyoung confidently daid. "I am her wound, and the one way to heal it is for her to aid it is by dealing with me."
Chanyeol stared at her Chaeyoung for a second before her lips curved into a smile. "Hmm at the very least, I appreciate the thoughtfulness.", he hummed.
"Fine. I'm sorry." Chaeyoung softened Chanyeol in a rare occasion. "Next time: I'll give you the gun of opportunity. I'll let you be the one to pull the trigger."
He poked Chaeyoung's tip of the nose before nodding in agreement. He walked again along with the other members who are just listening at watching them talk, while Chaeyoung tailed behind them; the glimpse of her discreet manipulation disturbs her.
5 DAYS LATER
"Finally." Dahyun muttered in a huge sight of relief as she adored the sight of all scattered papers in her table, all filled with contents produced from her own handwriting but not intended for her.
She finally completed and finished all the reaction papers assigned by Chanyeol to her that she will give later to them.
All set to be delivered, Dahyun fixed her things before leaving the library. Just as when she was about to exit, she encountered Chaeyoung who appeared very close in front of her, nearly colliding at one another.
The two stared to reprocess before both returns to full consciousness, Dahyun squinted her eyes filled with hatred, lips straightened, and mood slightly got shakened at the sight of Chaeyoung who just like the same as the rest of the days whenever they meet, empty and unmovable.
She noticed the papers labeled as reaction papers held by Dahyun on her arms. She sniggered before stating bluntly again. "You did it."
"Should I suppose to be happy hearing that?", Dahyun raised her eyebrow full of arrogance. "I may be allowing this just because I'm outnumbered and threatened but I promise to all of you, this will be the last time you'll be doing so. Karma will hit all of you soon."
Chaeyoung scoffed. "Just be grateful they didn't went extreme to you already. You should learn by now, so be still."
Dahyun elicited a small smile and a shake of her head. "Looks like you are also." Chaeypung just crunched her eyebrows, clueless what she's pointing at.
"What does it even mean?"
"You really are indeed hopeless, old friend." Dahyun only said before walking right past to her, leaving Chaeyoung both in perplexion and curiousity.
As Dahyun goes next to her classroom, she noticed that some of the members in the gang were casually talking together near the storage room.
She pursed her ears further, trying to eavesdrop their conversation.
"Boss Chanyeol has the right to become suspicious of her okay?"
"Yeah I know, until now even me doesn't fully accept and welcome her on being part of the group. The first thing I sense of her is that she will just turn out to be a bad charm to us."
"You're right. That's why if she failed someday, I hope boss won't hesitate to finally kick her out. I can't stand her anymore honestly."
"Oh I can't wait for that to happen. It will be be so satisfying to watch."
"Hahahaha that princess tigress will be tamed by her owner."
As they've gone complete silent, Dahyun thinks that this is the time for her to leave. As she does so though, her eyes are sprung up, mind gone crazy and gooesbumps all over her body as she heard about all of their evil schemes prepared for her former bestfriend once it backfires.
For the first time in years, Dahyun has never felt so heavily worried and afraid for her former bestfriend despite being betrayed and abandoned.
The next day, Dahyun gives another set of completed homeworks to the gang that was sent to her yesterday. As expected they are satisfied and impressed.
She was about to leave their secret spot quickly when Chanyeol called her one more time.
"Before you go, remind yourself to meet us at the base later at 6:30 PM. I will tell you the activity you'll do for us. Don't be late. Are we clear?"
Dahyun looked around at them first before answering. "Yes."
Chanyeol then gave her a nod gesture as a signal for her to finally leave. As she vanished, Chanyeol and the rest of the group wore a mischievous smirk.
"See you later."
Dahyun walks swiftly on her feet, frantically looking around back and forth at everything she passes through as she wants to track the sole person she wants to meet as soon as possible.
She couldn't believe she has to do this but something feels odd in her that she must have to.
At last, her series of wandering throughout the areas of the campus came into a stop when she finally saw someone she has to meet urgently.
She walked even faster and when she is now inches away from her, she waited for her presence to be acknowledged.
She side glanced, that's where Dahyun took the signal.
"Chaeyoung."
The girl faced away from tracing the bulletin board while holding her paint tools and a canva. She spun around, meeting the person who called her by her name for quite a long time now.
"Dahyun? What are you doing here?"
"I know we are destined to hate each other forever, but I just have to ask you this.", she coldly said and paused before gliding back to her words. "Do you... really trust your friends in the gang a lot?"
"Isn't it obvious?  ofcourse. I do. What are you implying at?", she answered, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Then it means you...  haven't ever thought of a possibility that someday they might... turn on you and cause you to get ejected from them?"
Chaeyoung eyes blinked puzzedly in a moment, her lips plopped as if she was about to say something back but that statement coming from Dahyun seemed like it got her otherwise.
"Checkmate."
"S-shut up.", Chaeyoung rudely denied. "Did you really just came to meet me here and have this type of talk again, Dahyun?"
"Why couldn't you just answer my question?"
"Damn it, fine! You're so insufferable.", Chaeyoung huffed and rolled her eyes. They would never do that to me. Why would they, huh? I got their trust and they have mine. I belong to their group now. Isn't it enough?"
Dahyun nodded and acted satisfied and convinced with Chaeyoung's response. "Okay. If you say so.", she shrugged.
"Whatever. You don't even know what you're talking about."
Dahyun stood beside Chaeyoung and pushed her face closer to hers, wanting her to listen carefully at every bit of words out of her mouth.
"Beware though, you might eat your words very soon. If I were you, I won't let them out of my zone. You wouldn't know, maybe they're plotting already to get you lost."
Chaeyoung sarcastically chuckled at Dahyun. "What is this? Now you're concerned for me?"
"Don't be misintepret Chaeyoung. I didn't do it to be friends with you again. You can forget about it happening."
Her whole composure nearly gave up as her heart felt like it skipped some beats and her energy felt loosened after what she heard.
"I'm just doing this to open your eyes and stop fooling yourself. We both know you're better than that."
"You're completely delusional, aren't you?", Chaeyoung pushed Dahyun on her shoulder with a jab of her palm. "I don't know what are you exactly trying to do with all these nonsense-"
"Yeah, nonsense? Alright, say whatever excuses you got Chaeyoung but let me tell you this.", Dahyun interrupted Chaeyoung as her voice gone aggressive.
"You will never be one of them. You don't belong in that group because you are way beyond than them... and that would make them care less about you."
Dahyun finally gave Chaeyoung some space to take all of those words and reconsider things in her mind.
The possibilities and imaginations about it occuring had Chaeyoung uncomfortable thinking about all of it at once, fondling her fingers and lip bites to catch the adrenaline of concerns for herself.
4 HOURS LATER
Chaeyoung was just eating chips along with her gangmates on their base when one of their members who left after being commanded by Chanyeol returned with some filled plastic bags on both of his hands.
He placed it all on the table. Chanyeol stood up and checked all the contents. Chaeyoung got confused at what she saw.
They bought some bottles of strong beer and some snacks. "And the other one?", Chanyeol asked Lai, the accomplice that he tasked on this.
"It's here, boss." Lai reached for the pocket of her jacket and pulled out the thing inside to give to Chanyeol.
The rest became more interested as they saw what's placed in Chanyeol's hand.
"Boss, is that... a-are we doing drugs?" Sehun said, referring to some white pills wrapped in a plastic.
"We are." That sounded controversial, exchanges of looks was thrown by the members at each other including Chaeyoung who had the slight look of objection in her eyes.
"... but this isn't for us.", Chanyeol caressed it with his fingers. "We're going to give this to someone else."
"I invited Dahyun earlier to come here, right? She agreed which obviously she has to.", Chanyeol added . "She's gonna be here soon, and she doesn't know completely the plans I do have in mind for her tonight."
"Mind if you tell us, boss?"
Chaeyoung also listened more intently.
"Well, I just want to give her some appreciation for everything that she's done for us. ", Chanyeol confidently said. His head fell, eyes returned to the view of the pills again. "But... there's something more I would like her to do for us, and I won't be letting her even say yes or no for it."
"Dahyun... is indeed a very attractive woman. Such a shame nobody's interested at her just because of being a nerd overshadows her beauty.", Chanyeol frowned. The members agreed, nodding quickly while Chaeyoung's brows knitted at how suspicious he's getting.
"But I'm an observant one... and I would like to be one to try how good does she really is when she's out of her shell."
"So here's my plan. We're going to make her join us to drink and then, when she gets drunk... this pill inside of this plastic; would boost her sexual desires...."
"Oh shit! Boss, are you saying... we're going to have a taste of her too?"
"Exactly. Let's see how gorgeous she really is if we discard her innocent and smarty self."
Chaeyoung's widened as it finally sinked in what does Chanyeol is probably wanting to do to Dahyun.
She remembered what Dahyun told her a while ago, and it kept getting repetitive and louder inside her head like it does warns her of an impending bad situation she's going to regret if she won't prevent it.
"Damn! Man, I always wanted to spank and eat that meaty ass she got. Finally, the wait will be over later."
Chaeyoung heard that disgusting and vile comment coming from Sehun. She wasn't even aware that her glare got even intense and venomous as it directed to him after saying that. It sounded so wrong and illegal to her.
"Now let's just wait for her to come and begin. We're going to have fun tonight." All of them cheered like idiots. Chaeyoung just roamed her eyes at them, pissed and frustrated at how far they've gone through.
Dahyun was her former bestfriend, but deep inside she knows and she admits that Dahyun will forever be the one that will make her succumb and retreat in case something bad happens to her.
She just can't do it, hiding it behind her mask of her new self. She doesn't know, but at this situation going on... it seems that this is very inappopriate already and a huge cross out to her that she shouldn't be able to let this one pass this time.
For the first time, Chaeyoung would pick the right choice.
"No."
Chanyeol and the rest looked at her. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me. I said no."
"Do you have any more to say, Chaeyoung?"
"I am. I want you all to leave her alone. Stop this. Let her now go.", Chaeyoung stood up from sitting at one of the empty boxes stored near the wall. "Like you said, she did what you tasked her to do. The deal was done, isn't it enough?"
Chanyeol squinted his eyes. "So you're saying..."
"Please, don't do anything to Dahyun. I told you, I'll handle her on my own. Leave her alone. We can just move on and target new ones but not her.", Chaeyoung's voice softened in plead. It's been a while since she has that tone when it regards to Dahyun.
"Now you're siding with her? What's with the change of heart, Chaeyoung? You can't pull the trigger anymore?"
Chanyeol stood up, walks and faces the troubled and guilty Chaeyoung.
"Too bad, I'm the one in charge here. I make the decisions around here and all you have to do, is to fall in line with us."
Chaeyoung looked up at Chanyeol and stares at him with angst.
"Fuck that. I'm done with this. I'm a nobody's bitch."
She slapped Chanyeol hard in the face reminiscence of what she did to Dahyun before. That was her symbol of answer, a choice, a loyalty... and a side to stand with.
"This doesn't have to be this way, Chaeyoung... but you left me no other choice. I'll do the honors for you instead."
In a snap, Chaeyoung bended her body and grasped her stomach in pain as Chanyeol heavily punched it.
"I knew you couldn't do it. You never changed. You will always be just like your friend and anyone we dominate in here: weak and pathetic."
"But you're even worse than them. You're a traitor."
One kick goes right to Chaeyoung's arm, she groaned in pain as her body fell to the ground.
"You used me to put you back together..."
Another kick but it connected to the leg this time. A teardrop escaped on Chaeyoung's poor eyes.
"I gave you what you wanted, a better company, welcomed you in when you felt alone and this is what you do to me in return!!!"
A slap fired through Chaeyoung's face, her cheeks reddened and stinged at the impact. The hit was so loud that even the members began to wince at how Chanyeol visibly looks even more outraged.
Chanyeol pulls her hair and tugged it upward, facing Chaeyoung who is now crying horribly in front of him.
"Remember this, from now on.... you just made the worst mistake of your life. Starting today, you and your ghostfreak friend, you both caused me a lot of problems, now I will make your highschool life a living hell.
"Boss, that's enough. You made her fear you now." Sehun went behind Chanyeol, putting his hand on top of his shoulder.
Chanyeol infuriatedly drops Chaeyoung's messy hair, falling back into the ground again and curl her body to ease all of the pain she's feeling somehow while she hurtfully cries at the abuse.
"She should've been that at the very start. Now I know she just treats me like a joke, I'm even more motivated to ruin their smiles.", Chanyeol snagged before spitting a saliva that went to Chaeyoung's sleeve due to lack of aim.
"Let's go somewhere to drink. I can't stand to see ghostfreak and this traitor all at once for now, we'll deal with them tomorrow."
They all brought their belongings with them as they left their dugout, leaving the recently evicted Chaeyoung in the ground; once again all alone by herself but this time, she did it for a great decision.
Few minutes later after the departure of the gang, Dahyun appeared at the scene wearing a simple casual attire. From the distance of the corridor, her eyes widened and face expanded in astoundment as she saw Chaeyoung wailing on the floor.
"Chaeyoung?"
She didn't reacted.
Dahyun made couple more steps forward to lure herself closer to her ex-friend.
"Chae- CHAEYOUNG!"
Now she ran and kneeled beside Chaeyoung. She assisted her to get up and there her features were presented to Dahyun, she sees nothing but disdain, destruction and shattered soul.
"What happened to you?!" Dahyun hastily asked Chaeyoung who is still heavily crying on her arms.
She still didn't speak. Dahyun made the adjustment instead by checking Chaeyoung's body. There, her heart cracked when she saw some bruises and wounds on her arm and legs, including a red spot in her cheek.
"THEY DID THIS TO YOU?!", Dahyun shouted. Chaeyoung just nodded.
"WHY?!"
"I... I-... I left their group."
"Y-you did w-what...?"
"I left their group... f-for you."
Chaeyoung didn't followed up more as she just snapped out from her consciousness, probably got tired out too much from what she suffered. She fell into slumber right on Dahyun who was only left confused at the last word she said.
"For me?" She repeated. She looked again at the resting Chaeyoung with eagerness to obtain the reason why.
------------------
"How did I-" Chaeyoung paused after lingering her eyes around her bedroom, lying down on her own personal bed.
"Dahyun?" She called the name of the girl sitting on the chair beside her closet, watching her freshly woke up from resting.
"You got hit pretty bad that you had to sleep for 5 hours." Dahyun nonchalantly asid, crossing her arms and legs while sitting.
She looked around the familiar interior of the room she's sharing with the person she used to know before too. "I thought even the designs of your room would change just like you, but I'm surprised you left it untouchable. It's been a long time since I can freely enter here whenever I want."
Chaeyoung went silent, revisiting those blocked memories she used to have with her in their childhood days. "H-how did you bring me here?"
"I carried you, you're still a lightweight.", Dahyun boastfully said. "What happened to you back there? Did you got all of those from them?"
Chaeyoung covered her body with her blanket more, feeling embarassed to reveal it at the person who was the one trying to warn her all along from having this happen. It's funny how the karma became reality just in a few hours following.
"N-no... only Chanyeol."
"What did you do to make him hurt you like that? I suppose that's the first time you. both had a physical altercation.", Dahyun guessed. "What did you mean... you left their group because you did it for me?"
Chaeyoung gulped, looking away from Dahyun. "I said t-that?"
"You did, not until you passed out from low energy." Dahyun replied. "So I'm asking you again and clarify it to me... what have you've done?"
Chaeyoung sighed and looked at Dahyun with her droopy eyes. "Earlier they... they were talking about you. Chanyeol wanted to do something on you."
"At our meetup?"
She nodded. "He instructed one of us to bought beers. He was suppose to invite you to drink with them and you have to accept it. I didn't even expected that they're something more that I never liked to discover."
"What do they want from me?", Dahyun continues to become authorative on her questions.
"They wanted to drug you, okay?! As you drink more and more, they want you to be sexually driven and... you know what's gonna happen next."
"Oh god..." Dahyun gasped. "W-what? They tried t-to take advantage-"
"They were also lusting about you like the perverts they were. I know we don't like each other but... hearing somebody about to get raped and me as a w-woman... did nothing about it, even f-for you... it just feels so wrong.", Chaeyoung bowed down her head.
Dahyun was speechless, still shocked and in disbelief that she almost put herself in that nightmare and trauma, but all thanks to Chaeyoung, her former friend; unexpectedly sacrificed her allegiance to backstab her entire gang just to save her.
Her lost in her thoughts ended instantly when all of a sudden, Dahyun heard a sniff and small soft cries coming from Chaeyoung.
She was covering her face, burying it on her palm.
"I don't understand... w-why did you have to help me. You shouldn't be doing this after everything I've done from you. I betrayed you. I left my only true friend and labeled her useless and unreliable. Why, Dahyun? Why did you have to heal me?!" Chaeyoung's anger, guilt and conflicted questions that she fired all at once at Dahyun made the volume of her tone increase in intensity.
Dahyun watched Chaeyoung finally took accountable of her wrongdoings. It felt nice to finally see herself at fault here, but it was still unfair for her on the other hand knowing and believing she does still have a part of mistakes here also.
"You're speaking as if you didn't do the same for me Chaeyoung." , Dahyun retorted. "If you want to know why... I'm actually not so sure either.", she shrugged.
"I couldn't help it. It was like an urge of redemption that I have to do. It felt like I was now finally proving myself that I can heal you it's just... I could've done it a lot better earlier. I could've been a better friend you're expecting me to be.", Dahyun clenches her fist, admitting her own fault also.
"No, you're not Dahyun.", Chaeyoung corrected. Dahyun looked at her in curiosity. "It was all me. I'm the one who looked at you falsely. You didn't have to pressure herself like that to improve for me, I could've done better also to make you feel that you are doing your role well.", she said while wiping the tears flowing from her eyes and cheeks.
"I didn't wanted to hurt your feelings and break your trust, Dahyun. Trust me, I wanted to approach you and fix my mistake many times... but I understand that you wouldn't want to see me."
"In my heart... y-you're still a friend to me. I saved you because after all this time... I still think about you. I'm concerned about you. You were right, i'm not suitable to be with them... and I couldn't believe I left the right one who can provide me the true meaning of what a real friendship should be."
Dahyun couldn't take it anymore. It was too much to contain, too much to resist, too much to act tough. Chaeyoung's words of regret, guilt and apology got her retreat on her emotions. Tears of her own began escaping also from her eyes.
"It should've been you, Dahyun. I should've stayed. I'm not hoping for you to forgive me, I'm just begging for you to understand because... we do are destined to fight forever."
Dahyun stood up from her chair and positioned herself near at Chaeyoung who is still crying hard.
"You're right. And I did mean what I said before. You can forget about us being friends...
... because we're sisters, Chaeyoung."
Chaeyoung slowly released her face from her hands and look at Dahyun. In her surprise, Dahyun was smiling at her with tears also streaming on her face. She was in the dark ever since she changed, and it does felt refreshing and completely relieving that  there's a light who is willing to rescue her again.
Without any further ado, Dahyun extended her arms; signalling Chaeyoung to do one simple thing to make things assured and settled like they both always wanted to finally happen.
Chaeyoung removed the blanket around her and raised herself up, extending her own arms too as she accepted Dahyun's welcoming body for a warm, longing and forgiving hug.
"I missed you so much Dahyun. I'm very sorry." Chaeyoung said as she buried her face on Dahyun's crook.
"It's okay now, Chaeng. I'm sorry too and yes... I missed this. I missed us being like this.", Dahyun smiled, shutting her eyes close to indulge the great feeling of finally recovering the special person she lost in her life. Meanwhile, Chaeyoung smiled and blushed as she heard her sister call her by her favorite nickname again.
"Now that we are back together, there's only one more thing that matters and our newly reformed bond is the key for it, Chaeng. We have both common enemies now, and all we have to do is to get back against them."
Dahyun heard Chaeyoung hummed in agreement and her head bobbed either.  Feeling inspired, uplifted and confident, with the assistance of Chaeyoung this time, she is now ready to beat Chanyeol and his gang and stop them from targeting other innocent students and end up like them.
The only question remains is... how?
That until, Chaeyoung had a bright idea on what they are going to do.
-------------------
THE NEXT DAY
"So... this is them?"
"Yeah."
Dahyun asked Chaeyoung, pointing at all three students that are standing in line in front of them; clueless at what is the purpose of being in here.
"Alright. Everyone, before we start... I have to introduce myself first. I am Kim Dahyun from Grade 11 and-"
"We already know her."
One of the two out of three female students blurted as she stares deadly at Chaeyoung who noticed and avoids it with shame. "Aren't y-you... one of Chanyeol's slaves? W-what is this? What are you going to-"
"Everyone, please listen to us." Dahyun interjected, defending her friend who is too speechless from a state of shock and terror. "Her name is Chaeyoung and yes, she did became a member from them... but that was before. She's now gone, she chose to quit from that unsafe gang.", Dahyun explained to them sincerely.
The other three students began muttering at each other before the student once again spoke to communicate further.
"S-she really did?"
"Yes. If she wouldn't, she wouldn't be standing here with me and..."
"... a-and... ask for your cooperation.", Chaeyoung took the turn to speak. Dahyun lets her and the students faced her altogether, they paid attention to her even more.
"H-how could we even give that t-to you if you haven't d-done anything to s-save us before?", the only guy in them three had difficulty breathing saying those words as the memory of his suffering at the hands of those unruly, sinister, troublesome teenagers.
"Because I-I'm doing this to help you guys this time.", Chaeyoung replies. She began to slowly lower her body to the ground until she was only in her knees. The three students including Dahyun were surprised at her manners.
"E-eh? M-Miss..."
"P-please... I'm begging you all. I'm heavily sorry for everything. I'm just a victim of Chanyeol's manipulative and authorative control including her beatdown he gave to me after I did the right thing.", Chaeyoung begs on her knees, bowing down her body to the ground as she grasped the hem of the dress of the student while crying.
"I want to redeem myself for each one of you. This time, I want him to be taken down, but knowing him... he's got backups. I'm alone, but I need ones too on my back.", Chaeyoung pleads to the female student on the middle. She monitors and saw how she's desperate and needy she looks. Three of them started to have their faces filled with wince and worry.
"I hope all of you accept and agree with me. I promise, again... I'll give you all the help I should've done if I wasn't get stolen by Chanyeol t-to my friend Dahyun here.", Chaeyoung looked at Dahyun who just gave her a small smile.
"C-can you stand up f-first, Miss Chaeyoung?"
"C-call me Chae. It's shorter." Chaeyoung followed the order of the student.
"If you do meant it so much and we all have the same despise to only one person and taste the medicine of his karma, w-we'll take it."
Chaeyoung and Dahyun's smile beamed brighter at the great news.
"Thank you so much! We truly appreciate it."
"If you guys want to do it too... then what shall we have to do?"
---------------
Dahyun and Chaeyoung were currently standing at the entrance of the canteen where many students are gathered to eat or order foods of their own choosing.
Among in this crowded place was Chanyeol and his gang joining somebody who looks very weak and shy as they kept on teasing him about immature jokes.
"He's there." Dahyun said as she mentioned Chanyeol's positive trace in the area.
"I'll go near them first. You know what to do next, okay?"
"Yeah, be careful. Try not to make it messier with them." Dahyun advised.
"It will be the difference from them. They cause chaos always, Dubu." Chaeyoung and enters and sealed her eyes across the ridiculous view.
"Why do you even eat too much of these?" Chanyeol problematically asked the little anxious guy. "No wonder why do you end up being thin as fuck like these french fries." They all burst into laughter as Chanyeol threw a piece straight through the victim's face.
"Enough. Leave him in peace, Chanyeol."
All of the gang rotated their heads at the source of that voice. Chanyeol knitted his brows and mouth agaped quizzically at why in the world would be their biggest problem just stood at their table without even preparing herself not to be embarassed by them.
"Look who just showed up.", Chanyeol gritted his teeth. "Speaking of the devil, huh."
"Don't worry, I'll let him go this time." He then threw all of the french fries at the shy student before standing up, removing himself on the seat and slowly went across Chaeyoung. "I'll give it to him, he's free.
"But this isn't going to be the same as you, Chaeyoung. Since you're here, now I got to invade your peaceful interactions or none rather, and you owe me a nightmare for you to suffer."
"Don't bother. Being your ally was way worse than a nightmare. I consider it as a curse."
"Watch your mouth you backstabbing shark. The audacity of you, I still haven't forget what you've done to us, you little traitor.", Chanyeol grabbed Chaeyoung's face and aggresively sank his fingers beneath the latters' soft flesh of her face.
"Then do something, bitch.", Chaeyoung grabbed Chanyeol's thump at her chin and catched it with a huge bite, enabling to sprung out Chanyeol's hand away from the girl as he screamed in pain.
"You're testing me now, huh. You aren't taking this seriously. You think I'm just playing a game with you." He gave his thunb some twirls, puff of air and peck of kiss to settle down the amount of pain it received.
"Let's raise the stakes then, let's get physical." Chanyeol then almost gave Chaeyoung's a strong blow of his fist ahead of the side of her head when in a blink of an eye, everyone was in shock including Chanyeol when Chaeyoung just catched his fist just in time.
"W-what the-"
She threw it away before Chaeyoung stood even more fearlessly at him, tiptoeing just to nearly match his menacing stare.
"Come on, hit me if you want. I wouldn't care less anymore. I'll just end up striking back harder than you can give."
"You must've gone crazy, dipshit!" Chanyeol landed a knee to Chaeyoung's midsection, kneeling down on her former master's feet.
All of the students and canteen servers watched the brawl between Chaeyoung and Chanyeol as all of them chanted "oooh" sounds whenever each of them exchanges a better attack.
Chanyeol tugged her hair upwards but Chaeyoung spun around and holds his wrist, twisting it around which elicited a groan from him. She drags it down, colliding the bone of his arms to her shoulder blade.
"GET HER!!!"
Chanyeol infuriatedly initiated all of his sidemen as they rushed over at different spots with the same motive: block her off while they take the turn to inflict pain on Chaeyoung after.
In tight spot and outnunbered situation, Dahyun saw the male bullying victim of Chanyeol running in straight return back to her standing figure.
"Have you done it?" Dahyun asked him.
"Yes, Dahyun-noona." He nodded. He was about to give back a USB device to Dahyun when she ignored and pushed it in his chest instead.
"No, keep that with you for a moment. I'll go there and protect Chaeyoung."
Chaeyoung guarded the other three's actions as she quickly turns her head, only to be caught by distraction when Chanyeol kicked her between one of her knee, sending her to fall in the floor with her other one supporting the impact.
Chanyeol headlocked Chaeyoung, wrapping both of his arms around her neck. "WHAT? YOU CAN'T BREATHE? I CAN SHUT THE LIFE OUT OF YOU RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW IF I WANT."
"Hey."
One of the gang members who are grinning and watching Chaeyoung slowly get choked by their leader felt his back being poked.
He turned around, only to met by a brutal smack on the face by Dahyun using her shoe.
"D-Dahyun." She heard Chaeyoung's gurgled voice as she tries to break away from Chanyeol's trap.
Before she was about to help Chaeyoung, the rest charges to Dahyun but the latter avoided it with some dodges.
Chaeyoung was about to get knocked out from Chanyeol's headlock but she unleashes one last attempt at him, grabbing both of his eyes and forcefully scratches it as he screamed in pain.
Meanwhile, Dahyun received a blow to her back from Lai as she got finally caught after dealing first with the other one named Doyoung.
"EVERYONE OF YOU, STOP THE FIGHT!"
Sehun's about to slap her when his hand stopped mid-air just in time to look himself clearly the ones who are the suspects of this ruckus.
They just realized that it was such a bad timing and a screwed up moment from them. All of them were literally standing while Dahyun and Chaeyoung are on the floor, groaning in pain at the hits they took.
"PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE. NOW. ALL OF YOU WILL GET EXCUSED FROM YOUR CLASSES FOR THIS."
The principal shouted at all six of them who hesitatedly followed him as they walked by pair. Dahyun and Chaeyoung lets out one last glare at the gang especially Chanyeol who already look like he can commit a murder anytime.
The boy who ran to Dahyun and was about to lend back her USB device remained on his palm as he played it while watching them enter the office with anxiousness in his face as he joined by his two other fellow victims.
"Will they be okay?" The girl with the nametag that has Eunchae written on it asked.
"The truth always prevails." The boy named Jun said with his voice full of hope and assurance.
"Let's just wait and see what's gonna happen." The other one with them named Yujin said which Jun and Eunchae both nodded their heads.
Few minutes later, Dahyun and Chaeyoung exits the office first to avoid conflict in case they are plotting something to hurt each other again, especially as how they can tell from the losers based from the judgment created by the principal.
They both saw Jun, Eunchae and Yujin sitting at one of the benches outside the building.
"UNNIES!!!" They all stood up in sync. "What happened?!"
Dahyun and Chaeyoung looked at each other, a smile slowly appeared in their faces.
"We won."
All of them felt a huge relief and a breath of fresh air to inhale on their lungs as they finally managed to defeat those gangs that brings horror to this entire campus.
"Thanks to the USB that you sent Jun to the guidance office, they watched the video we made regarding your confessions about their bullying issues and even heard it personally from you guys... they considered it as an essential evidence." Chaeyoung explained.
In addition, it was proven immediately with no further investigation needed when Irene enters the principals office to interrupt the meeting and lets him watch the video she was recording.
Unbeknownst to Chanyeol and his gang, this is the first time that somebody dared to record their sinful acts when Irene records them bullying a guy before being interrupted by Chaeyoung.
As they left the principals office, they both thanked Irene as she excused herself to attend an organization meeting.
"It was reported immediately to the principal and there, including what he just witnessed at the cafeteria; they made up their mind even more to give them the worst punishment. They got expelled while us... well, we just have to go to a detention for 5 hours for being involved in the cafeteria fight." Dahyun chuckled and rubbed her nape.
"Wait... so does that mean we won't be able to s-see them ever again h-here?" Jun stutteredly said in bewilderment.
Dahyun nodded. The three felt like they are about to cry in joy.
All three of them ran at Dahyun and Chaeyoung and enveloped them in a group hug of appreciation.
"T-thank you... thank you unnies so much. We can finally go to school without being afraid by something we didn't deserve."
Dahyun and Chaeyoung hummed and expressed their willingness to help as they returned the pleasure of doing it.
As all of them left, Dahyun and Chaeyoung remained in their spot.
"So..."
"Yeah... hehe..."
They acted awkward at each other, struggling to compose theirselves at interacting together.
"We finally got what we wanted."
"Yeah, it's completely deserving of them. How do you feel?", Chaeyoung pondered.
"Me? It felt like... I'm available again. There's no one to stand in my way now on... bringing you back to me again." Dahyun said as she watched the other students strolling around the campus. "You?"
"I feel free and peaceful. I'm no longer jailed in his prison and... the alluring devilish voices of lies he kept on inserting in my head, it's all quiet now."
Dahyun nodded understandably. She looked at Chaeyoung, urging the latter to do the same for her.
"I know we had our own worlds apart in months. It made us think that we're destined to hate one another but... now I realized, we did started as something special."
"We are more than just bestfriends. We've had a sisterly bond that evolved throughout all of our childhood years. So, despite we got betrayed and be mad at ourselves; we are still fated that someday we will resolve our problems and our lives become related again..., we're sisters Chaeyoung. I can't leave you and so as you. At the end of the day, it will always just be you and me supporting each other through our toughest times."
"Forgiveness is anything and family is forever.", Chaeyoung said as she smiled with her dimples visible on her blushing cheeks. "It was indeed true, because I got to experience it with you Dahyun. Even after everything we'e gone through, we still end up looking for one another in the end."
Brought by their emotions and desire to reconcile to gain closure for their own, they hugged each other and at last, the feeling of happiness, thankfulness and lack of loneliness was one again had its strong presence revived that will only revolve between the both of them.
"I missed you so much, Chaeng. Welcome back." Dahyun said, clutching the back of her head as she pulled her closer on her more.
"I missed you too so much Dubu. I won't ever leave again, I only have one more chance remaining, I won't waste it anymore.", Chaeyoung sweared in return.
They stayed in others embrace for half a minute before they seperated as they hooked each other's head with their arms while they began to walk side by side.
"Hey, since we have 10 more minutes before detention; can we go to Building C for a while? I have a pineapple cake order to pick up from my Taiwanese friend that I just met few days ago.", Dahyun requested.
"Oh yeah sure, no problem. Wait, you said Taiwanese? She's an exchange student or what?"
"Nope, transferee. She's so nice and uhh... tall." Dahyun showed a silly grin. Chaeyoung saw that and half-lidded her eyes as she observes.
"Yah! Are you teasing me?"
"No! What are you saying,  I didn't do it on purpose! I swear she's really tall. I even had to raise my head a bit just to make eye contact with her. Have you ever forgot I'm also short like you?" Dahyun chuckled. "Although... I'm just inches taller than you."
"Yah! We just got back together and you're being like this to me already." Chaeyoung pouted. Dahyun laughed and patted her baby beast on the shoulder.
"Stop sulking now, we'll go eat those cakes during detention hours. Sounds good?"
"Really?", Chaeyoung's face enlightened.
"Yup."
"Yayyy! Brooo!!!" the cub offered their classic handshake they made before which brought them back to another jolly parts of the memories they've created together before which couldn't ever be forgotten.
Dahyun high-fived her buddy back,  gripped her hand and rattles it slightly before letting go with some explosive-like hand gesture. "Brooo!!!"
"I'll have you meet her. You two would get along, I promise." Dahyun smiled. They entered the building again and head through the stairs to climb up onto the next floor to search that foreign student together.
