I try to grow food wherever I am. You have to nourish yourself before you can help others. I had some pumpkins, gourds, beans and watermelons left over from a community garden project so I decided to plant them in containers and with the banana tree.

*scroll through to see my big-ouches and the overgrown mess I was dumb enough to tangle myself into, lol* Pro tip when raspberry picking in your backyard: Even though you really want to soak up that last bit of summer sunshine and extend your tan as long as you can, so you're doing yard work in your bikini (sorry neighbors who had to see my chubby belly today) -- you should NOT pick raspberries in the overgrown bushes unless fully dressed. Because omg. I didn't think they were too bad while I was picking berries... but they're slowly appearing, very spicy, allllll over me. There are 4 very overgrown rows, we were cutting them all down for the year, but I was determined to creep deeper into each giant mess to get all the berries. My mom said I was brave, I said no, I just lack good decision making skills, 🤣🤣🤣 I need a bath but I'm pretty sure putting epsom salts in tonight would kill me, lol. But I won, I stole all the raspberries off every branch. Today's project was cleaning out this garden bed and replanting it. The whole thing was thickly weeded over and all that greenery went to the goats. Because they think it's yummy. I then put in two volunteer tomato plants that I pulled out of another bed and two replacement zucchini plants that I had to buy because something chewed through my seedlings at root level. Hopefully they will take off and I'll get a decent crop this year but if I don't at least I tried. Now I need to go and get cleaned up and ready for work. Enjoy this beautiful sunny day my friends.
