gt prompt (?)
I've been thinking about this concept and I really dig it sm. Imagine a world where, the moment any human is born, a tiny/borrower/fae/whatever term you use is born at the same place and time connected to them, but in the opposite gender and not blood related, and they don't normally look alike (kind of like His Dark Materials). They would be like soulmates but not in a romantic way. Whenever the human dies or gets injured, their tiny companion also dies/gets injured and viceversa, depending on the protection of each other. They grow up beside each other.
Of course you can take this one step further and make it so they can read each other thoughts, know where each other is, see through the other's eyes.

Alright, listen up folks, consider this:
Giants that are astronauts amongst a human crew.
Hear me out:
They could fix large damage and could take care of ship maintenance
They'd be large enough for their space suit to potentially have an entire oxygen generator, so they could spend more time fixing the ship from the outside
They would make a great bodyguard for the crew members if their ship were to be attempted to be seized by another space crew that tries taking over theirs
Moving heavy cargo would be way easier
Of course, this only gets more hilarious the bigger the giant is and the smaller the space ship is and there could be a bunch of interesting scenarios.
A five meter tall mini giant on a space ship for humans? They keep bumping their heads into doorframes to the point that the medical officer knows them on a first name basis after week one (and yes the giant also bumps their head while entering medical)
Giant aboard a larger spaceship? No problem at all! Just gotta keep in mind that there still probably aren't any rooms that they could comfortably sleep in without getting cramped
You want personal quarters? Yeaaaah, no, sorry. Oh, but we can definitely offer you that cargo bay full of boxes!
Getting a panic attack? Don't! You'll breath up all the limited air that you and your crew has. Fun! So this would make for some great angst of every tiny on board trying to calm down the giant unless they wanna die.
The temperature regulation broke? Everyone come huddle up, the giant can offer the warmth until that's figured out!
If giants in space are a new thing you can throw in a bunch of humans who aren't fond of it and keep bickering with the giant constantly
Picture cocky giants and strict commanders who just pull them down to eye level and intimidate them by telling them off despite at least being half their size.
I'm sure there are so many things you could add with mini giants and giants that I can't think of, but please, I crave the sci-fi gt that includes giants as the odd ones out for a change!
Tinies amongst a human crew is great, but what about my giant bois?!

Dancing in your Hands
Full credit for this idea goes to @entomolog-t and this prompt here about gt and dancing. Featuring to random OC's I made up on the spot that will likely only ever exist in this fic lol.
Premise: Human teenage girl doesn't have a date to prom and wasn't going to go. But her borrower friend saw how excited she had been and gets her to go anyways. She has a wonderful night but when it comes to the couples dance she side lines herself because she had no one dance with. She comes home and tells this to her friend who knows how much she had dreamed of this.
word count: 1510 cw: very very very minor hurt but lots and and lots of comfort and fluff.
"You should have just done it Jane." Zephyr sighed as he watched the human teen sit dejectedly onto her bed.
"How could I Zeph? I would have looked so lonely dancing by myself to a romantic song."
The girl flopped backward onto the soft purple duvet, grabbing a heart shaped pillow and giving it a comforting squeeze.
"I already don't have many friends, I don't need the whole school knowing I can't get a date either."
Zephyr couldn't help but feel sad for his friend. He knew how much this prom had meant to her even if the thought of so many humans gathered in one loud space terrified him. But whenever the teen talked about dancing the night away and having that special ‘one on one’ slow dance with that someone special, he couldn't help but hope she would have the most magical night of her life.
Even if she had reassured him that not having a slow dance partner didn't matter and she still had a good time, he could tell she still longed for that special moment.
Perhaps he could change that.
"Jane," The borrower called from the side table to get the girl's attention.
"Leave your phone here and wait outside of your room, and don't come back in until I call you."
Jane turned over on her bed to face her little friend, the smaller waiting expectantly for her to follow her instructions.
"Um what for though?" Jane asked, confused. What could he possibly want her to leave her room for?
"Just trust me." Zephyr smiled. "I promise it will be worth it."
The girl furrowed her brow whilst taking out her phone to set it down next to her friend on the side table. It dwarfed his size completely; being almost a whole 2 inches taller than what he already was, but she complied and stood, leaving the room wondering what on earth he could be planning.
It was about 15 minutes later that Jane heard the Borrower call her back inside.
Her eyes widened in surprise when she entered.
All around her room the fairy lights she had placed ever so delicately had been switched on, illuminating the room in a soft glow. A melody she recognised from her romantic dance playlist was playing softly from her speakers and created a magical feel to the enclosed space.
And there on her dressing room table stood Zephyr, dressed in his nicest borrowing clothes (the borrower telling her so) and holding a single red rose she recognised from the rose bush just outside her window, high above his head by the steam.
"Zephyr," Jane breathed in amazement at a loss for words.
The Borrower stepped forward holding the rose out to the human girl, which she took oh so timidly. "I don't know what to say."
"Then say you'll dance with me." The boy asked, reaching his hand out for her to take. "Allow me to lead you in a final dance"
Jane blinked, her brain short circuiting.
He wanted to dance?
Her 3 inch tall friend wanted to lead her in a dance?
Jane burst out laughing.
"Zephyr, I appreciate the gesture but I don't think that's exactly possible when you're the size of my index finger." The teen said as she tried to regain her composure between each laugh.
"You're not exactly able to lead at your size."
Jane missed the way Zephyr's face fell as she wiped a stray tear from laughing so much.
"Oh. Right" He said quietly, slowly making his way over to Jane's phone and began to switch the music off.
"I guess I thought I could give you the special slow dance you always talked about."
This grabbed the girl's attention.
"I guess it was foolish to think a Borrower like me could give you clearly Human experience."
Finally Jane realised what she had done and saw how dejected her friend looked. Zephyr had rushed to go to the effort of giving her a special slow dance just like she had always talked about, and what did she do? She practically insulted and laughed in his face.
"Zephyr." Jane began crouching down to be on the Borrower's level.
"I didn't mean to hurt you. You did all this just so I could have a special moment and I laughed in your face."
"I just wanted to make your dream come true." The boy whispered, dipping his head down sadly.
"You already have Zeph. You encouraged me to go to the prom in the first place. I had such a wonderful night and I shouldn't go mopping around just because I didn't get the dance I had hoped for. And I especially shouldn't have laughed at you when you did all this for me." Jane reached her hand out slowly and gently lifted the boy's head with her finger, blue eyes meeting smaller green ones.
"I'm sorry Zephyr."
The boy grabbed onto the humans finger and hugged it tightly, a silently accepted apology; the two smiling having made up. Zephyr eventually then pulled away and raised his hand out.
"May I have this dance?" the borrower asked once more, the girls heart melting as he did.
But there was still one slight problem.
"You may, but how do you want to do this?" Jane asked. As she had said before, how was he going to lead her in a dance when he could fit in the whole palm of her hand?
The Borrower grinned as he lifted his hand up horizontal to his chest and  splayed his fingers apart.
"Hold your hand out like this, and hover it about an inch above the table. I’ll do the rest."
Jane pulled her left hand back a little bit and matched the way Zephyr had instructed her too with her hand before the boy got to work. He gently curled the human's ring and pinky fingers under to rest on her palm and then instructed Jane to keep the tips of her index and middle fingers on the table, before grabbing her thumb and pulling it forward to lift her hand up.
"Oh you're so clever." Jane exclaimed as she realised what Zephyr had done.
"I've got a finger person." She smiled at the smaller, who returned her smile with one of his own.
Zephyr then quickly ran over to the phone and tapped some buttons till Jane's favourite piece of dancing music came, on before running back and bowing to her finger person.
She returned the gesture with an awkward curtsey of her own the best she could with her fingers, before the Borrower took the human's thumb in hand, and wrapped the other around her index and middle fingers. His hand barely covered the tip of her thumb at all, and his touch was so light, but the fact the Borrower was even touching her hands at all was a marvel in itself.
As the music began to pick up, so did Zephyr in leading her hand in a dance.
It was difficult given she couldn't turn her hand 360° degrees all the way round, but nonetheless they were dancing. It seemed when she had been practicing to dance for prom, that Zephyr had been learning the leading steps too, because she was certain each step he made was one of her favourite waltz.
How far they had come since first meeting, from the Borrower not even wanting to interact with a Human to now leading her hand in a dance. She did not deserve such a kind hearted friend.
She couldn't help but gaze at him fondly as he moved her hand about the table dance floor.
"Hey Zephyr?" Jane asked the borrower as he looked up to her.
"May I try leading?"
He smiled. "Of course Jane."
Jane carefully released her hand from the smaller before scoping him up and gently laying him against her chest, stepping into the middle of the room before gently swaying with the music.
Zephyr felt the steady rhythm of Jane's heart beat beneath him, as her hands cradled him close. It was soothing and he leaned into it more. Had she done this a few months before, he would undoubtedly be screaming, but he had come to trust and adore Jane so very much. The human holding a piece of his heart though she may not realise it yet, cared for him oh so very much and was nothing like the terrifying humans from stories he had been raised to believe.
He loved her and he would do anything for her to always see her smiling.
"Thank you Zephyr." Jane whispered quietly. "You truly have made my wish come true."
They stayed like that, gently swaying for the rest of the night, basking in each other's embrace as song after song played, never really wanting the moment to end.
It may not have been like the fairy tale slow dances like Jane had envisioned in her head, but it was so much more than what she could ever have asked for.

MORE PROMPTY RANDOM IDEAS
its 3am again and my brain is too loud for comfortable sleep so uhhh here we go again lol
A borrower stealing stuff from stockings
Borrower clinging for dear life onto mistletoe as they look down at their grinning friend (/lover)
Borrower who keeps unplugging the Christmas tree cause it shines light into their room while they're trying to sleep
borrower who takes off with bits of tissue paper for projects
Giants in a town square putting the star atop the tree
Giants helping decorate houses (possibly even treating them like little ginger bread houses. (Not eating them like that silly but like having full power decorating them however they want)
Giants building igloos so they can stay closer to human towns
Giants who hibernate like bears, there friend/lover coming to keep them company (really the human is just lonely)
Sizeshifters that hide (small) in the tree surrounded by lights only and tinsel to jump out resizing and spook their partner
Sizeshifters who find it much easier to scoop the snow from the driveway then use a snow shovel. (They then scoop up their friend/partner up along with the snow and the shovel.)
Sizeshifters that try to be sneaky and peak at presents. (They of course get caught)
That's about all I can think of but feel free to add to this or make a story out of this
Please credit if you do for of inspo (or just tag me lol,) (I really would like to see what you come up with!

“This is might sting a bit, okay?” I looked up at the enormous figure looming above me wielding medical supplies. I was still in shock from the nights chaotic events. I sat atop a cotton ball the size of a large beanbag for me.
Okay, for those of you who may be confused let me explain. So basically, i woke up today in a strangers house with no memories. adding to that, this wasn’t just any house, it was a giants house. Obviously i was freaked out when i woke up underneath a ginormous couch with nothing but my clothing, which looked worse for wear.
I had foolishly assumed that I was alone in the house, and got reckless while trying to wrap my head around the situation. I ended up getting spotted by the giant that resided in the house and they caught me. Fast forward past a bunch of struggling and injuries on my part and here we are. A giant is warming me about the sting of antiseptic as I struggle to keep my breathing sound. His hand, which is about the size of a car, steadily approaching.
He doesn’t wait for me to give consent before dabbing an alcohol covered q-tip on my fresh wound. I let out a yelp and curl in no myself. My breath starts to grow ragged, as the stinging in my leg grows more and more noticeable.
“S-sorry little guy, but we have to make sure it won’t get infected” I feel a warm plush finger start to rub my back, in an attempt to calm my anxiety. Unfortunately for them, I haven’t had the best experience with giant hands since I woke up here this morning. I flinch away and try to curl into myself further.
My body starts to shake as I feel tears prick my eyes. The stinging has subsided minority, but now I’m more focused on the looming giant. I just need space. Why won’t they leave me alone. They keep making things worse. Just go away. Go away. Please please please just go away.
They touch my head again, ruffling my hair roughly. I yelp back and finally snap.
“PLEASE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!” My voice sounds odd to my ears. Not how I had expected it to sound. It’s watery and cracks on certain vowels. I feel the hand flinch back at my comment. The giant hesitates before speaking.
“Y-you can actually…talk..?” He seems unsure of the proper response. I assume he didn’t think I was sentient, or at least that I didn’t speak his language.
I ignore his question, which seemed more like a shocked observation than anything else. I look up at him and for the first time today, I look him in the eyes. I’m shocked with how sorrowful they look, he seems so sad. Why does he look that way?
We hold each other’s gazes for several silent minutes. His eyes are a sparkling shade of silver, which is combined with the soft hue of teal. They’re comforting and calm, while still looking concerned.
“I-I need to clean up your wound, it might get infected if I don’t” he said carefully. He showed me the differing supplies and ointments he had layed out around the surface of tile that surrounded me. “I’ll try to be gentle with you, but I don’t want you getting even more hurt because of struggling”
Against my better judgement I nodded. He carefully lifted my leg up in between his two fingers. Gently he rubbed some healing oil onto the flesh surrounding the wound, along with ointment on the wound itself. O was pleasantly surprised to see how cautious he was while working.
When he had finished, he bandaged up my leg with gauze and set it down.
“Is that better?” He asked, putting a bit more space between us now that it wasn’t necessary.
“Y-yes, I think so…” I figured with my hands and the hem of my well worn shirt. He seemed to brighten when I spoke, smiling a bit in a friendly gesture.
“So, what’s your name?”

ok so for a prompt/scenario keep in mind i've been offline a lot lately, but:
more stuff where a giant is forced to trust a tiny they've been talking to while hiding their own size would be fun.
Could be like a giant that's been in hiding met someone in the woods that they talk to, everyone knows the woods are weird so the small doesn't question it until maybe the giant gets sick and needs something from a spot in the woods only a human could reach.
or instead of being sick a hunter is coming and they need help to get away.
i'll reblog this again if i think of more

Prompt #29
A, a borrower, is walking through the human’s garden one night, and suddenly falls through a portal. They are passed out for a while, and when they wake up to a blue sky, they are startled awake. What if the human would find them? However, upon sitting up and looking around, they realise that this is definitely not the human’s garden
There is a village to the left of them, but it wasn’t human sized. Or even borrower sized. It was tiny.
A looks to their right and finds a mountain. Except, it was smaller than it should be. A realises that they are now a giant. The people in the village are tiny. A is not used to being the big one in any situation.
B saw the giant fall from the sky, entirely limp, with only the rise and fall of its chest to indicate life. When the morning came and it woke up, it looked confused.
B was going to figure out this mystery, no matter what. If only the giant was able to speak their language

just a small g/t thought...
Imagine problems facing g/t families or relationships. Literally anything can happen here! The normal aspects of relationships and everyday life can be awful. For example:
1) Kissing? it can be cute, but when you really think about it, it can also be stressful and challenging. Imagine the stress before the first kiss..
2) sleeping in one bed causes fear of hurting the other
3) living in one house with a desire for even the slightest independence? no chance for the tiny!
4) sex life is (probably) out of the question
5) family/friends hatred for this relationship
6) when you decide to have a child, problems related to g/t parenting (a million i could name)
Living in such a relationship/family is indeed a challenge.

I remember my old job. All of us scientists at this facility run by the big head honcho. I don't remember what we were doing, but he always told us it was important.
But here's the thing:
If you disobeyed the Boss in any fashion, he'd pull out this contraption and just shrink you to a micro size. Not our happy 3 inches, but small enough that you are at serious risk of death from anyone and anything around you.
Except...him. He knew how to hold the micros properly. Keep them safe until they could be regrown and sent back to a cubicle or laboratory.
Over and over, I tried to escape. But if you ran, he'd always find you and shrink you and return you to your 'home'.
I remember one time, I tried to swim down to the bottom of a lake to escape him. And he yelled at the top of his lungs
You know I can shrink you all the way down there and leave you to drown. You want that?
After that I went willingly.
This was the latest dream from yours truly. Feel free to use for your fearplay ideas or just imagine some nicer scenes instead.
Happy Sunday :)

Sense of humor
🧵;; You may find your borrower friend, despite being an avid survivor, also a great comedian in their own strange ways. This is not uncommon, as humor is a sign of inherent trust. Humor is essential for borrowers to cope with stress and the difficulties of their lives, but it is more reserved to close relationships since it can have ambivalent attitudes.
🧵;; Borrowers don't grasp sarcasm, or at least not the way humans do. For them it's very important (sometimes even related to their survival) to be direct and honest with each other, so sarcasm may be taken seriously and cause awkward moments or unnecessary misunderstandings, as it may come off as rude or inappropriate, and with the right tone and words, you may even start a fight. That is not to say borrowers don't have their own sarcasm, but it is less used when talking about someone with that someone, and more about describing particular situations or people to others. This is why borrower humor is HIGHLY context-based:
🐿️;; The borrower way of being funny and unserious often uses exaggeration as a resource (also a way of subtle sarcasm, eh?) For example; “This door is heavier than a bag full of thumbtacks!”
🐿️;; To show you are incapable of doing something that is considered “easy” on purpose (by being clumsy, slow, or manual tasks like sewing) can be seen as funny in a right context, with the right tone and expression. For example, faking being an idiot at climbing. Of course, you may be actually an idiot and it would be seen as equally if not funnier. Be careful to do this around those who are not your friends, or they'll make a poor opinion about you. Also, some borrowers may display a sense of ironic pity at someone else being poor at a task, whether on purpose or not.
🐿️;; Borrowers are a bit more desensitized to death, blood, and other “survival stuff” humans may find weird. So to make the most of it, they sometimes make jokes related to the unique struggles they face as a species. “You wouldn't believe it, but I've had mouse liver and it tasted better than this piece of old bread”.
🐿️;; Though some Borrowers do mock humans for various reasons (whether with shadowed honest opinions or just the dose of unique borrower sarcasm), it is not safe to assume they all share these kind of jokes or consider them okay.
🧵;; Borrowers love to laugh at themselves, especially the young. However, you might not ever hear them joke about their own traditions or ancestors, there is a well-defined limit they unconsciously know.
🧵;; Because it is required as a core value to “be a good borrower”, most of them are perceptive regarding this topic, and will notice when the joke they made went too far or went misunderstood, quickly going back to a safe spot. Same way they will notice when the other is trying too hard to be funny, which is not well received.
🧵;; If the joke wasn't funny or it didn't make sense, most borrowers won't laugh or even smile out of courtesy, rather asking questions (not pointing out how awful it was) as to not let the warm convo turn into a deep silence.

Breaking news!
Local borrower attempts to steal a whole snickers bar, now is stuck in a jar!
A nearby team of fairies is attempting to break them out while the human is having a panic attack in the other room, convinced that the borrower is a mouse!
We are currently trying to deescalate the situation with a size shifter calming down the distressed human while the fairies keep up their work.
We shall now continue with the weather with Ted. How's the weather, Ted?
*camera switches over to a giant standing in a forest, only the feet abale to fit in frame*
Distant booming sound from above: No, no, you need to hold up the camera higher. No, higher, my eyes are up here!
...Yes, I KNOW it's difficult to hold up the camera that high, just-
*camera falls out of grasp, now staring up into the sky*
Annoyed looming face now coming into frame: God, damnit, Gerry! Every time!
*camera cutting back to the studio*
We are currently experiencing some difficulties over with Ted. We'll return to him shortly

Let's have a dragon child (human form) be in the forest crying but they're tearing up trees and screaming, except it's a dragon scream so it sounds disturbing
And have an adult borrower find them
Lol that just sounds like a giant tantrum for attention.
Can you imagine hearing and witnessing that? Just trees being uprooted and thrown out of rage, whilst basically an earthquake is occurring from them crying and hitting the floor with their arms, legs and tail! They just want to be loved but no one understands that!
And then of course cue the borrower finding them and I think it would be funny if they lived underground and came up because of the dragon child basically destroying their home and being really pissed that it's not a real earthquake and instead some kid.
I recon they'd get a good scolding and then the dragon would follow the borrower around like a lost puppy because they didn't know what to do lol
The borrower just has to accept they have a dragon child now
Love it 3D!! <3

its late o clock right now
i might as well make this a series.
Late gt brainrot with stace, come see on the late late late show. Lol.
Personally I cant get this one thought out of my mind.
A smoll writing secret admirer letters to giant, or u could reverse it and make it the giant sending he love letters.
Personally a good way I thought a borrower could write a letter was using those letter stamps. Maybe even they're missing a few so their are awkward gaps where a certain bowl or letter should be. Getting tiny black handprints on the paper and either restarting or just sending it anyway hoping the human won't notice.
Another way is cutting and glueing newspaper clipping to the letter like in spy movies when people don't want their hand writing recognized. Getting their hand supper glued to the letter as they leave it at the door step would be funny and angry way of them being found out or a close call.

Bro. Imagine this:
A world in which Tinies are illegally sold and partially known about. A human buys a pet tiny unknowing that they actually have a borrower living in their walls.
When the human comes home with their newly purchased tiny they are jubilant while ofc the tiny is scared out of their mind. Meanwhile the borrower is horrified to witness what they see as the end of their race.
The borrower then attempts to rescue the tiny from captivity, but the tiny has already learned that the human means no harm.
Idk, rando thought I had and figured why not share it. Who knows? It may become a story.

A is a giant than has been shunned and hidden from the world far from any human's or a source of civilization.
B ends up finding A and is absolutely terrified, A is amazed of the human in their cave and immediately goes to inspect the human.
B feels terrible as the giant showed signs of loneliness, B decides to stay with A and occasionally leave to get supplies.
One day, A decides to chase B around for fun.
B ran away with a loud thumping heart, Their breath heavy and uncoordinated. They would get more scared at each booming step getting closer to them.
The way A wouldn't know how human emotions work and continue to chase him around, While B is terrified of the beast chasing him...
