How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom? 

 I've been on the outskirts for years, but just started involving myself over the fall/winter! 

When did you start shipping CaptainSwan? 

 During the Neverland arc, post-kiss 

What drew you to this event? 

 First, I love any excuse to write more CS!!! But also the creator of the event, Krystal, reached out and encouraged me to join, which made me feel all types of special and wonderful! 

What inspired your topic? 

 A combination of things: 1. A song called "I Can't Wait Til You Get Dead" by That Lying Bitch, 2. A music video idea for the same song that one of the members of the band told me about, 3. A conversation in the CSLB Discord regarding a different prompt.

At the very sight of Neal Gold, Killian’s blood ran cold. Or it would have, if there was any blood in his system. But there wasn’t. And Killian was suddenly very aware of that fact, because a flash of a memory had just returned to him, and he was staring right at the person who’d murdered him. He didn’t remember much. But the distinct image of the man before him, an evil glint in his eye, was replaying itself in Killian's mind. His stomach burned, and he lifted his shirt to find a large, gaping wound through his abdomen.

literally the second killian jones started getting it baaad for emma swan in season two. by neverland i was totally hooked

What drew you to this event?

this is my second year doing this event and it's definitely my favourite! i just love seeing emma and hook in fantasy settings, it suits them so well

What inspired your topic?

unfortunately i'm probably not doing personal art this year, unless something magical happens you never know!

i'm a digital artist and work mostly with an illustrative/cartoony style thanks to my background in animation. i love trying to capture emma and killian with a sort of fun and soft energy that feels like they're in their own animated movie

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

i just love seeing everyone's work! having a new short snippet of captain swan as werewolves or faeries to look forward to every day is a highlight of my summer <3

How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?*

Since 2013 officially.

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

Episode 5 of season 2, 15 minutes and 34 Seconds in.

What drew you to this event?

The opportunity to share my work with other like-minded people and the fact that it provides me with the motivation to write.

What inspired your topic?

Watching the pilot episode of The Mandalorian and realising I could turn into a CaptainCobraSwan work - which is, as previous works can prove, my favourite relationship dynamic to write.

"Where do you suppose we ought to go, lad?" "The fairies had always told me to 'follow the swan'." The child seemed to be more focused on the savoury pastry than on him. Killian couldn't blame him. "The swan? I'm guessing you don't happen to have a pet swan, then?" That seemed to catch Henry's attention as he snorted in surprise. It made Killian smile involuntarily. "No! Where would I carry it?" In a fit of giggles, he almost dropped his pastry. He tried to tame his own laughter but found himself unable to - the boy was charming. "Alright, alright." Killian attempted to sober him up in a mock chiding tone. "Then where do you propose we find ourselves a swan to follow?" "I don't know. I've never met a swan." Henry chuckles. "They didn't give you other clues?" "Nope, they just kept saying 'follow the swan'. 'Remember, Henry, follow the swan'." He spoke as if it was something he had heard too many times, which he guessed it was. (Think "The Mandalorian" in a fantasy setting by someone who's never watched the show).

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Finalising my project and reading everyone's entries!

Mandalorian/CS Mashup and CaptainCobraSwan! Sounds amazing! @exhaustedpirate​ will be dropping their fic on August 14th!

I love supernatural stories!

I don't have a topic yet, but I'm leaning towards vampires. I have the germ of an idea, and I'm trying to see if I can do something with it.

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Seeing the fic and art everyone else produces.

Welcome to CSSNS 2023 @caught-in-the-filter​ !

How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?

I’ve been on tumblr since summer 2014 but I don’t think I really got involved in fandom until maybe 2015-2016? I have zero concept of time lol.

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

To be quite honest, I don’t remember what specific moment in the show got me officially on board with CS. I thought they were interesting together since Killian’s introduction, but I don’t know what made me really start wanting them to be more. I shipped Emma with happiness, whether that meant Killian or Neal or someone else or no one, but when they began showing signs of being mutually interested in and good for each other in canon, I started to fall in love with their love. Joining tumblr and being captivated by all the fan content absolutely fueled the shipper in me to become more invested in them though, and now they’ve completely taken over my life. I even named my cat Killian, so….

What drew you to this event?

I've loved this event since the first year. It had me at Captain Swan, it had me at supernatural, and it definitely had me at combining the two. I love seeing all the cool ideas everyone comes up with for this event. There's sooooo much creativity in this fandom!! I love it all, and I love being able to participate in it too.

What inspired your topic?

Right. My topic. The topic which I have chosen. The topic for the thing I’m making. My topic I have chosen specifically for the thing I’m making. … That topic? I definitely have one, yep.

CSSNS Get to Know Me!

How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?

4 or 5 years

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

The first scene between Emma and Killian.

What drew you to this event?

I participated last year, and absolutely loved the whole concept and reading all the fantastic stories everyone came up with.

What inspired your topic?

The title "The Pirate Prince" popped into my mind last year, (It was just too much work for me to have two projects for the CSSNS even since I knew both would be multichapter.)  Then things rolled along the lines of coming up with a setting and for some reason I settled on something with dragons. So I ended up with a mix between the "How to train your Dragon" and "Treasure Planet" and my brain continued to suggest it be somewhat steampunk fantasy genre.

Back story is: Killian is trying to save his brother's life, he needs a Phoenix flower plant (I KNOW i repurpose that totally made up plant from my "The Dark Elven" from last year. But yeah this works here too.) On his mission, he comes across the princess of Misthaven and her son, though he won't know she's the princess at first... somehow they end up on his ship and follow on the journey to the ends of the world for this special plant.... still a bit loose on the entire plot thing, but it worked out okay last year so why not also this year?

SNIPPET: (The first meeting between Emma and Hook)

Emma smiled and looked over at her son, who now had his back turned to them and her heart sank when she realized he was watching the pirate walk up to the bar.  “Hello, there lad.” The pirate said with a smile, “You were absolutely right, their pies here are the best I’ve ever tasted in all the realms.”  Emma gasped, when had Henry talked to this man? “Henry?” Her voice was sharp and she ignored the grin spreading over the pirate’s face.  “Yes Mom?” Henry turned around and gave her an innocent doe-eyed look.  “Did you speak with a stranger before I found you outside?”  “Perhaps.” Henry looked down at his fingers picking at the hemline of his jacket.  “Not to worry miss.” Even when Emma sent him a sharp look the pirate still continued, “I merely inquired about what happened to the Rabbit Hole.”  “Well this is clearly not the Rabbit Hole,” Emma said and gave him another glare, it didn’t bode well in her mind that Henry had been speaking with this man. “Come Henry we’re leaving.”  “But Moooom,” Henry wined as he jumped from the stool, “I wanted to go see his ship.”  The pirate chuckled and bowed, “You can’t miss her, she is the beauty with the magical sails. She’s the fastest in all the realms.”  “Really?” Henry stopped right in front of the pirate. “Henry!” Emma said between clenched teeth, this had to stop now.  “But mom please…”  “Absolutely not a chance in hell we’ll not go to the docks to see a pirate ship.”  “But it’s got magical sails.” Henry huffed and waved his hands aimlessly in the air. Emma knew her son was seconds away from rolling his eyes too.  “I don’t really care if the damn thing’s got dragon wings and unicorn horn at the bow. We’re not going.” Emma grabbed her son’s arm and tugged him towards the door.  “I actually have a dragon.” The pirate had the audacity to pipe up.  Emma ignored her son’s excited gasp at this revelation and reached for the door.

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Finishing the story that has been on the back burner for the past year now. AND reading all the wonderful stories everyone comes up with, AND seeing the fanart.
