well... hm, there's kind of a problem. The timeline was mostly reset, but there are lingering echoes that things aren't right. For one, the Kwami remember the last timeline - so do the Sentikids, and in fact, so do robots/AI's of any fashion. Not only that, but some mechanisms, nonorganics, exist as though the last timeline was still in place, like passwords and lingering, half-corrupted photographs in dead links and dead blogs.

I’m a few episodes into season 1 of “Farscape”. My thoughts so far:

* Overall, I’m really enjoying this. Not gonna lie, I like the show for the same reason why I liked the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies. Before anyone says anything, I’m not calling the GOTG movies a ripoff. But it’s obvious where James Gunn got his influences from.

* I like how this is basically a space isekai.

* This may be subject to change, but this show feels like…hornier Star Trek. We had an episode where Aeryn Sun had to take some clothes off because she was “overheating”. There was an episode where we got full-on alien ass. The most recent episode I’ve watched literally has an evil seductress alien (as well as Aeryn wandering around the ship in a black crop top for some reason). Not complaining, I’m just used to sci-fi shows being a bit on the prude side.

(EDIT: Okay, this is definitely hornier Star Trek. Aeryn unintentionally made a dick joke. D’Argo is clapping cheeks and Crichton is sleeping next to Zotoh, who just stripped down. She even put her hand on his dick lol)

* Favorite character so far has to be Ka D'Argo. He’s like if Drax was treated more seriously.

* I see that Claudia Black always had it going on. I knew her as Chloe Frazer from “Uncharted” and Vala Mal Doran from “Stargate”. So, I guess she got typecast as “badass woman who everyone has a crush on”.

* I’m surprised that Crichton stopped trying to go home after episode 2. He went from wanting to go back home immediately to “well, I guess I’m here now”.

* Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan is so obviously who Liara T’Soni was modeled after. So not only did James Gunn watch this show, so did the team at BioWare.

* The puppets are pretty interesting to watch. Not gonna lie though, at times, I feel like I’m watching “Dark Crystal”.

* I find it lowkey funny that this is an Australian show, but is still American-centric. But I guess it kinda works since there’s an alien race that speaks with an Australian accent, so we needed an American protagonist to distinguish who is who.

Okay so while I am like. Weilan as a ship? In my top 3 epic romances of all time (that I've seen in a show personally). Which is Xena/Gabrielle, Spirk, and Weilan.

But also like when I watched the show my fondness for chu shuzhi and Guo changcheng came unexpectedly and intensely and I'd almost say I was more invested in a way. Just in the sense that like, their dynamic intrigued me a little bit more. Weilan are intense and epic and everything I expect Of a grand romance for the ages. And also mature and relatable and well acted (and very xena/gabrielle category). But chuguo? It's the "I'm a cannibal don't love me" "I'm a double agent why am I babysitting a human especially a cowardly weak one" "this coward I looked down on is the bravest kindest person alive I know" "this man has nothing no talent no achievement and he's so strong to still want to do this, to be this dedicated" "I haven't let myself feel since my brother died and now I have a person I'm just as afraid to lose" (which honestly the chu shuzhi and his brother and Xiao Guo parallels to shen wei and ye zun and Zhao yunlan are IMMENSE, and it's fascinating to look at weilan as similar to Lao chu and Xiao guo... how Zhao yunlan gets shen wei to connect and open up the way Xiao Guo gets Lao chu to, i could go on). It's the way chu shuzhi in some ways was the "ye zun" brother, he was the criminal, the one shen wei pardoned and made his employee (and in some ways no doubt saw it as what he wished he could've done with ye zun but Dixing was never letting ye zun out), he was the one who didn't even like his own people and Certainly didnt like humans. He was the one who only served one thing, driven by his brother (revenge, living because his brother would want it, following shen wei as he reminded chu shuzhi of his brother etc). And here he is, completely cut off (in a way shen wei isn't because shen wei does make a home on earth with humans at least at a distance as a teacher). And chu shuzhi gets close to Xiao Guo. Who brings him to his FAMILY, who sees him as family, who grabs hold of chu shuzhi and doesn't get scared and let go (could you imagine if anyone did that for ye zun how different things may have gone? See my fanfic what makes monsters stop devouring lol). Just like... the ENTIRE dynamic of chuguo interests me so much

So like. I'm reading the novel and just waiting to fall into the deep end of getting so into chuguo again I neglect the leads lol ToT

Maybe the Federation froze Felps and Cellbit because they were able to attain and achieve examples of peak satisfaction / absolute devotion towards the Federation and now they plan on duplicating the methods upon the rest of the island participants. This might also hint towards the fact that the mission with the first 24 residents might have been a failure hence the Federation most probably killed all of them in order to restart the experiment all over again with new participants.

I haven’t been able to point out a “fave” in Farscape since I started the show. But that all changed when Chiana joined the crew lol. She’s like if Mantis (or Nebula) from Guardians of the Galaxy was written to be as horny and weird as possible. I wasn’t sure how I felt about her at first, but now, I love the energy she brings to the team.

Oh, there I go again, comparing the show to Guardians. I swear, I’m not trying to. It’s just that James Gunn used so much of the show in his movies.

As a side note, I’m not sure how I feel about Stark. He seems like a random addition to the crew. I guess I’ll see how well he fits in with the team.
