AITA: I (metal robot) accidentally pushed a woman (I didn’t ask her age) and potato into a endless pit; it wasn’t really my fault she was standing on top of it but you know, she also kinda deserved it, she said some means things about me, she didn’t explicitly said them but she probably thought it, I don’t think I was in the wrong

“Let me help you with that, love.”

His voice is deep and slightly rough, taking the paper bags of groceries out of your hands as you both quietly walk up the stairs to your loft.

You notice the accent and well, you already knew he wasn’t from around here from his appearance alone but fuck, you can already imagine how he would praise you while you were in between his kne—

“You have a habit of spacing out often?” He lightly jests, a bit playful though you can’t really spout a laugh or even a nervous giggle. Rather, an embarrassed flush of your cheeks as you look away sheepishly would serve as your only response and this makes him chuckle. He sounds like some God talking to a mere mortal, shy and demure as though this were a test rather than a little interaction between neighbors.

Once you both reach your door, you fish out your keys and clumsily open the door.

“Thanks.” You mumble softly, rather meek in the tone and he can tell that he has an effect on you, of course he fucking does. You would get your groceries from him and enter your apartment, closing the door as to not lengthen the somewhat awkward encounter.

A knock at your door pulls your attention away from your laptop. You lived alone, well, not without a regular visitor who would often come around whenever he was free and in town.

Maybe you had a type for those kinds of men. Men who can’t seem to linger long enough to build a home but you didn’t want a home. You were young, building a career and enjoying the peace that comes with solitude (though that doesn’t excuse the fact that you occasionally needed warmth from a man or a good fuck).

You sigh and place your hand on the door knob. You doubt it was your visitor since he usually gives a heads up so it must be some stupid salesman, flirting his way into your pockets. But when you open it, you’re surprised by the sight.

Your neighbor was holding a carton of milk and a half dozen eggs.

..huh?

“You look confused, love.” The man observes and you blink.

“Well.. you don’t really knock on my door” You murmur quietly, leaning your body on the doorframe and you notice how his eyes skim your body. You really hope he likes what he sees as much as you do.

“I’ll be away and don’t want these to go to waste so I thought you’d want it.” He explained and you nod slowly, taking the products with a soft thank you, pulling away from the doorway.

After putting it down on the table next to the door, he would turn but—

“When will you be back?” You suddenly ask without thinking and you sounded so.. needy. Like a lover who craved his presence as he left the bed.

“Not too long for you to miss, love.”
