Don't mind me everyone, I am just sitting over here experiencing Totally Normal feelings about the Caleb/Evelyn subtext in Hunting Palismen.

I am not screaming, crying, shaking, and/or throwing up over how Hunters first act of betrayal against Philip was cherishing the bond he has with Luz. This bond is represented by Flapjack, the physical representation of Caleb and Evelyn's love.

I do not watch this episode, with my mouth agape, every time I see Hunter return home to his abusive "uncle" knowing full well physical punishment will most likely be dealt to him. He knows that his "uncle" might add another scar to his face, but he still chooses to return home empty-handed rather than turn against Luz. I react in a manner that can undoubtedly be perceived as normal every time I see Hunter choose to keep Flapjack, even though handing Flapjack over to his abusive "uncle" would spare him further punishment.

I am also casual about Hunter's reaction to Luz's words and disappointed gaze:

Luz: So you're really gonna do this? You're just gonna hand all these innocent little guys over to Belos? I know what he does with them. I thought you might've been a good guy. But I guess that was just wishful thinking. You're not my friend. You're just the Golden Guard.

Hunter: My name is Hunter.

Luz: [gasps]

I am not taking note of how he cares about her opinion of him. I am also not taking note of how she is the only character who actually listens to him AND how she's the only character he tries to impress.

I have not been taking note of how Luz and Hunter treat each other vs other characters AT ALL every time I rewatch this fanfic paced cartoon...

#lunter #on another note...#ppl think Eclipse Lake is a Lumity episode when it's actually a Lunter episode since Luz had to be written out of the episode #so that Hunter wouldn't fold like a lawn chair before delivering the titan blood to Belos #Cuz he could never treat Luz the way he treats Amity Gus and Willow #I honestly love how I can say this with confidence bc HP showcases this as clear as day #that's also the reason why they had to make sure Hunter and Luz didn't interact in ASIAS. Cuz he would have caved #the moment she expressed disappointment in his actions #like are we sure TOH was supposed to subvert romantic expectations... cuz it doesn't look like its doing that

Hi. I just watched the new Owl House episode. I think you can guess how I am doing. So I’m not going to talk about the super sad shit that just happened, because I just finished crying and I’m afraid I’ll become as shriveled up as Belos if I continued. Now, let’s get into the theory, shall we?

First theory, Evelyn and Caleb are related to Eda in some way. I do slightly support this theory, as everything we have see of Evelyn does look like Eda. Also, Evelyn, Edalyn, even Gwendolyn, really. It does feel like a red herring at the same time, so who knows.

Second theory, Flapjack was either Evelyn’s palismen or, and this will break some hearts, was fully Evelyn or even Caleb. As Belos crushes Flapjack, he says “Goodbye Evelyn”. That of course, could be referencing just the connection to Evelyn, but what if it runs deeper? As we see, palismen can save a witch’s life, but can that be Vice versa?

Can a witch sacrifice themself for a palisman life?

I think you all know what I am implying. I hope it makes you cry as much as it made me. I’m going to continue crying now. And drink some water, and rewatch the episode in order to cry more. Have a lovely day.

For someone who just feels too much, I decided to reread "Normal People" by Sally Roonie. I felt the urge to read it again, as watching the series did not feel right. I felt lost and uninterested, which was not the case when I read the book.

So I decided to rekindle that spark before getting myself to rewatch it. And I guess, just like with Evelyn, I might have a different stand after this.

My reading journey started in 2021, though last year was the time I felt really interested as a friend of mine was passionately talking about what books contributed to her. And I somewhat miss talking to a person who shares her interest and is not just reaching out to me for money.

Fast forward: I fell in love with her, but she loves her solitude more as she is not ready to give it up yet, which I respect but also don't know how to respond to since I don't want to lose her. I tried making up to her, but eventually, she became the biggest lesson I had.

I was a mess when she came into my life. And now I'm messier. But she left me with the wisdom that when you don't have anyone in life with you, Books will be there to take you and be with you all the way through.

I do hope it's like that enemies to lovers trope for us. Until then, Imma sleep a lot since that's the only time I see your face now.

I'm sorry. I love you.

Portal theories after rewatching Owl House (theories and spoilers ahead maybe?):

The portal in the Gravesfield graveyard links to the graveyard where young Eda finds the door. We only see it for a moment in her flashback, but the design is the same if not similar, and it makes sense with the proximity to the portal. But why was the door left there and who made it? There's way too much unknown there but I have another question: why that graveyard? This leads me to my next point.

The witch the Wittebane brothers meet is a Clawthorne or at least and ancestor. First, Belos mentions the Witch by name: Evelyn. What are the names of other Clawthorne women? Gwendolyn, Eda's mother and Edalyn herself. Lilith is the odd one out but maybe her father named her. Those are only the ones we know but that can't be a coincidence especially if the above theory holds. It would also explain how Flapjack was made for Caleb. The Clawthorne family was famous for palisman making after all. So what does this mean for the door?

I'm guessing the door was made as a stable bridge between realms. The brothers had a terrible and violent falling out and Caleb dies. Philip wants the door as his escape route once he destroys the demon realm but Evelyn, in her grief, takes it and buries it near her family graveyard. It remains a secret until Eda finds it. Philip, now Belos, has no idea the door still exists until Luz arrives.

TL;DR

Eda's ancestor made/hid the door and she was also the one to bring the Brothers Wittebane to the demon realm. Those Clawthorne women; always causing trouble.

Now, please excuse me. My brain hurts.

Questions and commments I have for Riverdale:

Are the characters ever going to seek counseling/therapy in their adulthood?

Will we ever get a specific mental diagnosis for Cheryl and Betty, or?? Because I feel like Betty might have DID or something else if not more, but I am no psychologist, so please - for the love of whomever you believe in - don’t take my word as gospel. With Cheryl, I’d best guess histrionic, but again, I am no expert...just speculations based off observations and the way they approach/respond/react to situations.

Are all of the students returning as teachers? I really thought they’d all have unique and different jobs (and I mean no offense by that, I just genuinely assumed) outside of teaching—way separate from teaching, actually, except maybe Jug when it comes to writing

Why did they make the Gargoyle King human? I know Roberto never got the green light to fully cross Riverdale over with Sabrina, but they still seemed to have more mentions and guest appearances from the former within CAOS than the other way around? I’m just sayin’... GK was kind of a weird villain, we all know that, but with all the genres that Riverdale plays around with, I think it would’ve been nice to have a supernatural/paranormal-themed season, no? Just me? Kk.. (s3 is my favorite so far, because it’s weird and wild - and I got high for most of its viewing lmao - so I’m biased)

⬆️ I forgot about the fact that Jonathan played as Kurtz in Riverdale and then later as Robin in Sabrina ... and Bret’s actor in CAOS’ last season (wasn’t Donna’s in there, too?) so I mildly stand corrected

I think it would’ve been cool to see Riverdale cover the Be More Chill musical. Idk, with all the peer pressure and casual bullying/taunting/judgement that goes on amongst them peers (examples: joining or leaving/getting kicked out of gangs, being blackmailed into lying in court with the threat of leaking a tape of your brother getting shot, being outed against your consent, getting guilted for still being in the closet, “manning” up after being abused or getting into a bear fight - typical high school stuff), I think it could’ve been an interesting spin. And the cyanide could’ve been replaced with the pill or sumn. But I am content with the musicals they’ve done so far, don’t get me wrong.

Toni’s parents...? ... We ever gonna meet ‘em, or...?

What happened to Hermosa and Charles? Chic, even, or Evelyn? I really don’t remember if they ever explicitly said where these characters went. But I definitely remembered what happened to Edgar 🚀👱🏻‍♂️🔫

Is Hiram gonna try to kill Archie again? I’m sorry but the thought of that kinda makes me laugh, like this dude has been an ongoing villain for three seasons straight. He gets under my skin, and I’d argue that is what can make for a good villain, beloved or not

Did Archie give up Vegas? ‘Cause I haven’t seen that good boy in a while...

Are we ever going to meet Heather?

I just still find it kinda interesting and unique from season 1 that we never once heard Jason speak a line of dialogue, and that everything we ever got to know about him was told through the Blossoms or other students.

The Midnight Club is still one of the best episodes thus far, IMO, and one of my favorites. Maybe I’m just a sucker for nostalgia I wasn’t even alive at the time it came out, but it’s still fun to rewatch.

Why aren’t LGBTQ+ and POC characters utilized more - rather than tossed aside or left to disappear without a trace of goodbye - when there’s actually been a good handful of them per season? (ex.: Cheryl, Kevin, Joaquin, Josie, Chuck, Valerie, Melody, Sierra, Toni, Reggie, Peaches N Cream [I saw her in the recent episode, just for a second, with her cute done-up braids and all], Fangs, Moose, please forgive me if I forgot anyone; it’s been a while) And why do the POC especially end up being villanized up against the white, cishet characters? Like the entire Lodge family, for example..

Toni said her and Jughead were still good friends (when they all - but the core four - still thought he was dead), but I feel like I haven’t seen them interact ‘til Jug denied her title to being the Serpent Queen?

Is Toni going to be pregnant this season, or did they hide Vanessa’s baby bump 🤰🏽 with any random object or article of baggy clothing found onset?

So Reggie and Jughead just never interact after season 3? Kinda sucks ‘cause that’s a duo I’ve been hoping to see more of, but I won’t hold my breath just yet since it sounded like the show’s ongoing til 2022, last time I saw. It would just be cool to see more guy friendships; heck, even Fangs and Reggie would be a sick duo. I just think Reggie getting along with the Serpents - after half a season or more of just not liking or trusting them at all - could be pretty dang cool.

Where did Mad Dog go? I’m sorry, they might’ve said in the last season, but I don’t remember. I miss him either way :(

I just find it funny how Jughead and Veronica never talk about the one kiss they had lmfao. I would’ve loved to see how that convo would’ve gone down, since it’s safe to assume that at least Jug remembered afterward —who never gave Betty a straight answer on whether or not he enjoyed it (/laughs in jeronica crumbs that I’m sure I’ll never get again/)

Who taught Cheryl to talk the way she does? I love her, but— 💀

S1 Alice was so wildly conservative, like...miss ma’am, you’re talking about witchcraft and demons over there like you’ve had your experiences (outside of G&G).. 👀 No but didn’t the Blossoms have a demon in their family bloodline, according to CAOS? ‘Cause that’d make this make much more sense to me..

How many *more* of the Riverdale girls’ fathers could possibly be serial killers or criminals to varying degrees?

Edit: I guess that’s it! I don’t want to ask too much more, just wanna see what this season will entail ~v~

First interview of 2021!!!!!!!! Wow.

Today we discuss the Percy Jackson film adaptations, fanfiction, and plot twists.

Important note: I haven’t changed or edited any of the answers. I’ve only formatted the book titles so they were clearer, but nothing else. Because I’m incapable of shutting up, my comments are between brackets and in italics, so you can distinguish them clearly.

1. What is a film adaptation you hate of a book you like?

Ooo okay great question! Percy Jackson for sure lol. There were like a couple moments I liked in the movie. But I'd never rewatch it again...I would like to reread the books though sometime.

[The PJo film adapatations are... Something. To be honest, I read the whole Heroes of Olympus, then watched both PJo adaptations, and then read the PJo books, so not only I did it all backwards, I also didn’t think the films were that bad. They were quite entertaining. However, when I read the books I was like WHAT??? HOW DID THE FILMS MESS IT UP SO MUCH?? It blew my mind]

2. Last book that made you go YES (for any reason)?

I would have to say These Ghosts Are Family by Maisy Card. I devoured that book! I read it in 2 days lol and I just reread it but annotated it this time. I adore it so much. There are moments that hit me in the gut, or heart, or soul, or whatever haha. I loved the story and all the perspectives. There are many characters and they are all written so well its amazing! The ending was my favorite. From reading some reviews I have seen that people don't like the ending, it is one of my favorite parts! I could go on for a while lol 😂😂

3. Do you read with or without music?

It depends on what book...historical fiction no. But sci-fi or fantasy yes! I love to pair movie soundtracks to books. My favorite soundtrack to pair with books is Cloud Atlas 😄

4. Thoughts on fanfiction?

Hmm..conflicting I guess. I've only read a couple and it just wasn't my thing. But I don't judge if you enjoy writing it, awesome. If you love reading it, awesome. Just isn't something for me.

[Whereas I LOVE fanfiction. I don’t like how a plot went? Fanfiction. I ship two characters that weren’t a canon couple (or even if they were)? Fanfiction. I miss the world but don’t want to commit to a reread? Fanfiction. It’s the answer to all of my problems.]

5. Most surprising plot twist or ending?

Many come to mind haha. Acceptance by Jeff VanderMeer, the ending was so...vague...yet detailed. I loved it! But also the ending to Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough...yo! That ending was a trip! Oh!‐ also the ending to 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle! I made my sister read it so that I could talk about the ending with her 😂

[I’ve only read Evelyn Hardcastle of these, but I agree that the ending was... Not what I was expecting. And I don’t mean this in a good way, haha. It left me a bit meh]

Hello! I am very easily pleased so please take this as a starting point if you need some ideas but otherwise write what makes you happy! I know horror tropes/genre are in my dislikes but if you want to write a scary trick, you do that, yes please! I've been on a bit of a Philippa Gregory kick this summer reading the Cousins' War series out of order. I'd love more stories about these figures – with some of them (Henry VIII in particular!) it's pretty easy to lean into the trick side of things, but there's treat potential too. Add more characters if you want; I've been reading histories and historical novels on this period for many, many years so if you drop in Maria de Salinas or Stephen Fisher or Kat Ashley or Thomas Cromwell or anyone I'm up for that, but I am also a laidback reader and this is a low-stress exchange, don't tie yourself in knots over accuracy. (Although I would, and I'd definitely recommend Ruth Goodman's How to be a Tudor if you haven't read it, even if you're not normally a non-fiction reader.)

What if [any utterly disastrous thing] didn't happen, or perhaps was somehow worse? Did Elizabeth and Dudley actually have some happiness in a romance, however brief? How did Anne of Cleves feel to retire as the King's beloved sister? What was Margaret Pole thinking on the morning of her execution? Is Henry VIII haunted by the ghosts of some of those he killed: friends and lovers and family? Did anything actually happen between Elizabeth I and Thomas Seymour (There's historical room for a secret pregnancy in the country…)

This is like my TV comfort blanket. I rewatched it this year and I am interested in just about every main character except, oddly, Thomas – who is the favourite fic character of most writers! Give me a missing moment, a look at the future, a glance at the past, a look from the outside – whatever. Any point in, before or after canon is cool with me, except I tend to skim a lot of S4 (ugh, that rape storyline, please don’t use that).

Do ghosts walk the halls of Downton Abbey? What is life like in Ireland for Tom and Sybil? Do any of the characters ever feel a moment of true despair? What if Matthew had died in the war? What does the future hold for these characters? How did Robert, Cora and Violet get on in the 1890s? What was Carson like with Mary/Edith/Sybil as children? Does it parallel his relationship with their children?

3. The Good Place

This is another show I can watch over and over and over. I think Chidi's my favourite but it's hard to be sure. I can tell you I absolutely sobbed during the S3 finale and I was a wreck for the S4 finale. Tug my heartstrings, make me laugh, make me cry, I don't care! I've studied philosophy and despised it so I'll take or leave what you include on that score, I just love the characters. Please include any or all other characters you'd like, but I definitely ship Eleanor/Chidi over Chidi/Simone! Although I'll take angst in that direction too! I don't know, I feel like a kid in a candy store writing this letter: hyper and having trouble deciding between all the possible wonders!

Existential dread? Moments from their human lives? Moments from the good place? Please tell me more about the time knife. Does Michael return to the good place when he dies? Does he reunite with Janet and/or Tahani?

4. Jane Eyre

This is my favourite classic novel, I reread it every couple of years, most recently in 2020 for Yuletide. My reading of it changes each time, and I increasingly believe that Rochester is more bad guy than good guy and that Jane Eyre lies as a narrator and is as prejudiced and superior as those she crititcises for the same qualities. But I still love her, and that she says she got a happy ending.

Is Rochester more of a villain? How? How does Adele find school, either the one Rochester sends her to, or the one Jane moves her to? Post-canon happiness? Post-canon unhappiness? A scene from the engagement? A missing moment between the non-wedding and Jane running away? What if the wedding wasn't interrupted? (Full disclosure: I'm writing this too.) Canon divergence for, well, anything? Is Adele separated from Sophie? How does that go, how does she manage?

tell me the first song that made you stan your current fave group and why did your faves attract you so much?

ok SO the song that probably got me into rv 100% (also yes ik this blog is 99% nct but rv is my forever fave no question) was probably ice cream cake!! i had been a casual listener of many groups up until that point and had never really stanned anyone, but icc was so infectious i found myself watching it over and over. i had heard happiness and be natural before but hadn’t really listened too closely, so icc was the song that captured me. after that, dumb dumb only cemented my love for them more, and the red is still one of my favorite kpop albums to date. rv attracted me primarily because of their incredible vocals and their versatility in genres and concepts. i still get so excited wondering what they’ll tackle next!! they’re just soooo unique and have one of, if not the best discographies of any group. i cannot stress enough, I. Love. RV!! also they’re funny and gay so. anyway stream monster once it drops uwu

1. what is your favorite song that’s been released during quarantine? ooooo honestly??? probably something off of Sawayama. literally every song bangs so hard i highly recommend that album to anyone!! i can’t pick a favorite off it but who’s gonna save you now is awesome and xs is just,,, chef’s kiss

2. what is your greatest mishap when you tried cooking? (or something you’ve witnessed) one time, while making soup at my late grandmother’s house on her like gas stove, i put a lid on a pot and somehow that led the pot to be engulfed in flames. IN MY DEFENSE i was like 7, and i’m great at cooking/baking now

3. what’s your go-to outfit or article of clothing? oh i love a nice dress. they can be casual or formal, and you look like you put effort into your outfit except i didn’t because i didn’t have to match anything yo!!!! also shorts have trouble fitting me cause i’m a weird body type so dresses tend to be very comfy for me

4. what is your comfort food? am i allowed to say like all food??? eating in itself is comforting,,, that sounds depressing but also i just like eating yummy food. i guess i’d say like my dad’s fried rice?? its my fave and no one makes it like him soooo

5. what singular moment in your life would you like to relive? i couldn’t tell if this meant like, a good moment you want to re-experience or go back in time and redo a moment and fix it. it’s kind of a hard question so i might cop out and go with a bit of a silly answer: i want to relive the hi touch with astro...... i wanna look at rocky’s beautiful eyes and touch moonbin’s hand ok,,,,

6. what is your favorite line and/or character from a movie, show, or book? i got a bunch but a few off the top of my head are genie lo (the epic crush of genie lo), ty lee, suki (atla), klaus, and ben (umbrella academy)

7. if you could only choose one ice cream flavor and pizza topping/style for the rest of your life, what would it be? ice cream flavor: this very specific one from a local store that is banana ice cream with strawberries and oreo mixed in. it is heaaaavenly. as for pizza topping, i love a breakfast type pizza with an egg on top and like sausage and stuff!!!

8. what is the worst injury you’ve ever had or witnessed? funny enough, i’ve actually gotten badly injured quite a few times, and always on the face!! god hates me. the worst was probably when i hit a metal bench with my face and it took a chunk out of my cheek. i still have the scar! as for “witnessed” i accidentally broke a grown man’s rib once as a child, so i guess that would count.

9. would you rather explore the unknown of space or the bottom of the ocean? oceaaaan!! i answered this in some other game, but i like how mysterious and yet close the ocean is. like proximity wise it’s so near, yet there’s an insane amount we know nothing about. that’s so frightening but so intriguing

10. if you could be any cartoon character, who would you be? my first thought was literally “kirby. eat fast” GOD my followers are gonna think i’m just a glutton and they’re not even gonna be wrong im dying. but uhh idk mulan or smth?

TWW Rewatch: The Supremes (5.17)

• man, everyone loves this episode and I did too, although I can’t remember much about it. So I’m excited to rewatch

• what I do remember is “Josh Lyman is gesticulating wildly” and Toby gets Evelyn Baker to sign her name for his kids

Riverdale Reaction - 3x17 - “The Master”

They could’ve renamed this episode “The Snacks” and it’d be pretty damn accurate

The Serpents are slithering in the name of justice and laser pointers! I’m already 10/10 all in

No necklace on V! Is that growth? Can Betty get her a BFF chain thing? Like a heart with two halves and they each wear them? Ohhhh look at my scheming girls.

HA! The Serpents pool table replaced the dining room table. I mean, priorities. Really.

There is an obscene amount of orange juice in the Jones house. Commentary on the acidic relationships? Sunny dispositions? Maybe not. The photos on the fridge have changed and transferred! Woo! OH NO SHE DID NOT grab Jug by his hair and hat. Momma is going down. I’m siccing the girls on her.

Omg Betty’s “ritualistic drowning” line and Veronica’s big smile like “That’s my girl” made my heart swell. Love them when they’re fighting evil instead of perpetrating it.

Did Kevin just put “garden” in air quotes? It sounded like he did. They do have a garden. We saw it. Multiple times.

Alice looks good in white. And crazy XD Wear a silky camisole out in the world as a shirt. You do you, girl. I love the orange/red "yeah I used to be a Serpent” outfit from S2 and hope that comes back at some point.

Why do they choose the creepiest area of Mercy to do interviews? I enjoyed it, weirdly enough. Made their facial expressions reminisce of unimpressed teens sitting in on a scary story. Also, I love how it’s just a check mark box of YES or NO on whatever’s on the sheet and Evelyn didn’t bother marking the last one.

Hermione, the whiney ex-wifey. What was she gonna do if Hiram actually stayed down during those 2 murder attempts? Girl, all you had to do was hold those tubes of oxygen and he’d be taking a dirt nap

Archie’s face as he makes a healthy shake while Jughead noms on chips made me laugh. Classic. Also, any time Archie eats something unhealthy he looks anxious like it will immediately deflate his abs. The prison storyline is silly. Still. Am I the only one who’s still confused by Mad Dog’s status?

The Varchie scene. Sigh. Sometimes I want to bite Archie’s nose because I’m not passionate enough to slap him but I’m frustrated enough I wanna leave a pointy little imprint for a minute. “You worked so hard…before…” Oh like Mary, Sierra, and Betty did as well when you were in trial? And yes, Veronica worked her butt off too and made CUPCAKES for your return! THE CUPCAKES! I’m still upset about it.

“Yes, they wear white after Labor Day…” Is it intentional that Cheryl’s wearing white in this scene? Foreshadowing? Love the little detail on her sweater and Betty’s red sweater as if she’s an ally for the Blossoms.

Ok I’m loving the over-the-top nonsense of Jughead with a switchblade demanding they look for gargoyles on telephone poles and confiscate “gaming equipment.” The Serpents oughtta get a PS4 or something. I love Deputy!Serpents. SOMEONE has to actually do some investigating in this town. And ass-kicking? And pin-pushing? Hilariously enough. Did anyone else notice Jughead thanked a kid named “Jason” on the walkie? Is there a Serpent without a stupid nickname? Or is that a codename?! So many questions.

Ha! FP is mad the Serpents “ruined” his bust. Like, sorry for doing your job before you, sir.

BETTY SNOOPER! What a nickname. Love you, girl.

ELUCIDATE THAT. Damn, sir. You know how to use that vocabulary. I never had an affinity CMM as a teen but he’s got some vibes I’m digging. Like the colorful candles intermixed with the regular ones.

I love how Elio shows up in a full suit to antagonize men he doesn’t know and walks away after it appears Archie is more interested in Fight Club Light

Ok Cheryl has a daddy kink. I know she’s a canon lesbian but canon also has her very interested in the DILFs as eye-candy. Ooooh I cringed when she called him “Eddie.”

I had to rewatch the Archie and Juvie Crew Pop’s scene to get the significance of the guy saying “If I never ate anything but these burgers again, I’d die happy.” WHELP! Good news, person I presume is “Baby Teeth!”

People are terrible at assassination in Riverdale. Why send her a fish? That’s a decent dinner if she could cook. Which I somehow doubt, despite her waitressing at Pop’s. Now her apartment smells.

So the juvie guys know the same Serpent deputy secret signals, huh? This sequence is so Riverdale. And Jughead takes NO ONE up with him except Mr. Crowbar? Look at this crazy fight sequence. Good thing the Gargoyles choose to wear masks that limit their vision or our boys may have been in trouble. Because in this DARK SHOW with 99% leather and jeans on boys, how would they know who was who otherwise?

The ascending window-escape wasn’t really a build-up? They needed some creepy dialogue or something more than that one line. That fall looked pretty painful though? At least he didn’t snag the beanie on a stray plank.
