Mercedes-Benz 300SL 1954
The Mercedes-Benz 300SL is not just a car; it’s a legend with wings. Those gullwing doors, like a bird spreading its wings for flight, are unforgettable. This car combined speed, style, and Hollywood glamour in a way that few others could match.
Fun Fact: The “300” in its name refers to the robust 3.0-liter engine under the hood, and “SL” stands for “Sport Leicht,” which translates to “Sport Light” in German, highlighting its athletic prowess.

Pagani Huayra Roadster iL Diavolo "The Open Air masterpiece with my DNA".
The Pagani Huayra Roadster project began in 2010, with the ostensibly simple idea of a Huayra Coupe with a removable roof and conventional doors, as was developed for the Zonda Roadster in 2003. In 2013, the design was scrapped and everything restarted from the beginning of the design process.
Each Pagani creation has a life of its own, every detail must have its own harmony in line with the spirit and soul of the machine car. The Pagani Huayra Roadster became a project independent of its predecessor, a machine car with its own soul.
From the very beginning, the Pagani Huayra Roadster door design followed in the tradition of the Mercedes-Benz models of the 1950's, specifically the gullwing doors of the 300-SL, and its Roadster variant featuring conventional doors. In the end, the design closely follows in the tradition of Pagani - the vehicle best represented in the Huayra Roadster design: the Zonda Cinque Roadster.
The overall shape is smooth and immediate, where each line has a beginning and a definite end. Every last detail has been revised- every contour made more defined, every curve redrawn multiple times to arrive together in a cohesive, liquid form.
The Pagani Huayra Roadster powered by the masterpiece of an engine the Mercedes-AMG M158 V12 biturbo engine 6.0L 764HP and over 1000Nm of Torque.
Exclusively Handcrafted by Michael Kübler @f1mike28 in Germany Affalterbach. Driving Performance is our Passion! Mercedes-AMG the Performance and Sports Car Brand from Mercedes-Benz and Exclusive Partner for Pagani Automobili. Mercedes-AMG Handcrafted by Racers.

A lot of folks don’t understand why we (car folks) want to modify our cars. It’s simple. In the first place, cars are made by people just like us. They have a boring day job, they don’t get everything they want into a project, and their boss keeps stealing their best ideas and not giving them credit, so they keep it close to their chest. As a result, production vehicles are, well, not exactly what anyone wanted.
You can tell this by doing a quick image search for concept cars. There are some wild, crazy designs out there, and none of them saw production. Hell, even the weirdo shit like the Pontiac dust-buster vans were originally supposed to have a Nintendo and gullwing doors. Then, the realities of production struck, and the final product only had regular doors – and not even an Atari to be seen. Better believe there were a bunch of disappointed engineers at the old Pontiac watering hole after that one.
So: change it yourself. Why not take advantage of your free time, skill set, and the unstoppable juggernaut of hyper-budget Chinese-made power tools to do what you want to a car? Even if the car is good, good enough that it doesn’t need mechanical modifications, get out the plasma cutter. That boring unibody can be your canvas.
You won’t sit on your deathbed and remember the 1996 Concorde that you kept in impeccable condition before selling to a buy-here-pay-here lot with 173,496km on the odometer. No, you’ll laugh with your buddies about the time you turned a 1973 Ventura into an ice cream van and tried to enter it in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

First version of the GReddyVI-AZ-1. This is the red version. This was later rebuilt as the white version. Pics from my book by Amemiya san. Translated text below by google with some corrections by myself.
Dream Mine Another dream machine! The compact monster is also my starting point!
GReddyVI-AZ-1 1996 Tokyo Auto Salon Domestic Complete Car Category Excellence Award
The GReddy series so far has been based on FC and FD but the body size is wider
It has turned into a monster.
However, this year, as I entered my last year in my 40s, I looked back on my tuning life up to that point, returned to my roots, and wanted to take on a new challenge. .
My starting point is a machine with tremendous power hidden in a compact body, and I wish I could tear apart a Porsche or Ferrari class hyper sports car from the outside! I wanted to revive the pleasure I experienced with Chante and Cervo.
The original gullwing used in the GReddy7-IIi, IV, and V is of course satisfactory in terms of construction and design, but it is still
PIC CAPTIONS (first pic)
A body that has originality in each part and incorporates every possible idea that is unique to the street and not found in racing cars.
2ND PAGE
The quality of the gullwings made by Kerr is high in terms of their high degree of perfection and durability. As expected, I have no choice but to say. Therefore, as I am particular about gullwings, I chose the AZ-1 as the base car, which I had been eyeing since it was first released. Sera's Gullwing was also a candidate, but I chose the AZ-1 because the shape of the windshield matched the image.
Although it is based on the AZ-1, only the door structure, roof, windshield, and some interior parts remain. Of course, the engine was replaced with a rotary one, and production began by making everything completely complete, from the body to the frame and suspension structure!
Since it's a K-sized car, I wanted to keep it as compact as possible by keeping it within the same size as the 80 Supra, with 20cms wider on each side, making the body as compact as possible but to allow Air to the 3 rotors loaded in the mid position.
PIC CAPTIONS
It is also my passion to not attach wings and to make it an integral part of the body. The rear of the bumper has a mesh pattern to vent air.
3RD PAGE
When it came to the body design, things like introduction, securing downforce, etc., ideas kept coming to me, and it was difficult but fun to turn them into reality.
The chassis and suspension took a lot of time and the know-how gained from participating in races. It is also meant to strengthen the body in order to obtain official approval, and it is stretched to the point where it can be called a pipe frame specification. The suspension has also been set up with an emphasis on handling so that it can ride smoothly around the bay. The locking arm type double wishbone has a stroke of 50mm compared to the standard 140mm. Well, as for ``how about actually driving it?'', it's a pity that I haven't been able to test it out since it hasn't been officially approved yet.
The important engine is a 3-rotor side port specification that uses the eccentric shaft and rotor housing for 20B, and connects three rotors for 13B.
PIC CAPTIONS
The mid-mounted engine is a 3-rotor using a 13B rotor. We also considered the weight balance and carefully determined the positioning.
4TH PAGE
The turbine is T78-33D, and it squeezes out about 500ps with a boost of 1.1k. However, this is also not set to the highest speed, but rather to focus on acceleration up to 300km/h by improving mid- to low-speed response. At first, I thought about having an NA like the GT, but since it's a mid-engine car, the sound would get really noisy, so after thinking about it a lot, I decided on a turbo version.
Actually, this car. I won the Excellence Award, but I missed out on the Grand Prix. Why? I heard from Dai-chan and other judges that it was because we were late for the delivery time! If the item is not delivered within the specified time, it will not be subject to inspection. However, I'm grateful that they decided to at least give me the Excellence Award because it's so amazing. I didn't create it just to win an award, but when I think about how it could have won the Grand Prix, I was a little disappointed. I was just so disgusted.
SPECIFICATION

Rick Owens x Moncler “Silent Sleeping Pod”
With a steel frame and reflective steel exterior, the Pod is insulted on the interior and soundproofed with Moncler’s recycled and organically dyed nylon, which also gives the interior a very cozy vibe that comes in sharp contrast with the brutalist exterior.
The exterior is impenetrable, indestructible and uninviting, while the interior is the opposite of all that, with fluff pillows and cozy duvets – which match the latest Moncler capsule collection.
With the gullwing doors closed, the Pod is self-contained, with its own air supply, a video and audio system, temperature control, a lighting system, and refrigerated storage for a small quantity of supplies.

The 1956 Chrysler Norseman was a concept car designed by Chrysler stylists and built overseas in Italy by Carrozzeria Ghia, a coachbuilding (carbody building) firm who famously did the styling for the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia models. Intended for the 1957 circuit, the car was completed in 1956 and sent from Italy to America on the Italian ocean liner Andrea Doria in July.
The car was a four-seat fastback coupe with hidden headlights and a cantilevered roof supported only at its rear-end, allowing for an all-glass front windshield with no metal supports. The car was state-of-the-art, and it’s unknown how many of its daring concepts would have made it into production models, as the car never entered production. On the evening of July 25, amid heavy fog, the Andrea Doria collided with the Swedish ocean liner Stockholm fifty miles south of Nantucket Island, and sank late the next morning. Forty-six people were killed in the initial collision when the Stockholm’s bow pierced the Andrea Doria’s side, but as the ship stayed afloat for eleven hours after the collision and many ships arrived to take on survivors, the remaining 1,660 passengers and crew were evacuated safely, in what became known as one of the greatest rescue operations of the 20th century. With photographers and television crews in airplanes on hand to watch the final moments, the Andrea Doria slipped beneath the waves at 11:00 AM. The Chrysler Norseman, located deep in the Andrea Doria’s garage, was lost as well, and never recovered.
Although it’s tempting to mourn the loss of such a gorgeous and daring car, I think that the daring concept elements which give the car some of its charm would have been toned down in production. A similar car from 1956, the Mercury XM-Turnpike Cruiser, was a radical car in its concept, with radical styling and glass roof panels above the doors that opened vertically like gullwing doors to allow for easier entrance and exit from the car’s low roof. These elements were toned down in production, with the glass panels replaced by a plain hardbody roof and the styling simplified on the carbody. Doubtless the same would have happened the the Chrysler Norseman had it entered production.

Lamborghini Marzal, 1967, by Bertone. Another Gandini concept that never made it beyond prototype stage, the Marzal was powered by a 2.0 litre in-line 6 cylinder engine placed transversally behind the rear wheels, in fact half of Lamborghini's 4.0 litre V12.

Matra Laser
Michelotti  based the Laser on the Matra M530’s chassis and commended mid-engined layout (at the time, one well-known magazine described the handling as ‘unbelievably neutral’). The bodywork had the wedge-shaped profile synonymous with 1970s concept cars, while the doors were of the ‘gullwing’ variety; a feature shared with many of Michelotti’s experimental cars of the same period. Sitting just 1080mm tall, the Laser had chunky door sills designed not only to increase structural rigidity, but also to channel cool air to the 1700cc Ford V4 engine stowed away behind the passenger compartment. The unique prototype made its debut at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show painted in a striking shade of yellow, and later appeared at the 1972 Montreal Auto Salon sporting some subtle styling changes and a less conspicuous silver paint scheme.
