And by used, I mean overused. Somewhere along the line, blackmarket traders found her, and started roughhandling her in order to kidnap her. Oro appeared, killed the blackmarket traders, and offered Karin the position as an Otogakure member. The attackers were dead, she could have run free. But they proposed she rather offer her skills as a medic/shinobi to them in return for protection. She elected to go with them. From there, we do see one scene where she looks worn when Kabuto asks her to heal someone. But then again, she’s not forced to be there firstly, secondly, that’s Kabuto. So I’m not sure why Oro is the one being blamed in that scene. Yes Kabuto works with Oro, but Kabuto has been stated to run his own private projects. Otogakure is pretty much part Kabuto’s. It would be odd to attribute a scene with Kabuto to Oro, just as it would be weird to attribute Shizune’s actions to Tsunade. Either way, the only time we see Karin with Oro again, is Oro telling her she has been a good ally, but she should take a break. Doesn’t sound like they are pushing for her to overwork her abilities to me. If her doing basic work is considered wrong on Oro’s part, I’m confused. Because that is just how being employed works. She willingly entered Oto as a shinobi (yes she’s young, but all shinobi start at age 12ish, in earlier gens case like Oro and Kakashi 5/6 is the age of employment). She willingly entered, she willingly took a job there, they gave her some work. It never implied kidnapping.  I don’t think we have ever been given a single scene of kidnapped allies. Kidnapped experiments yes. Oro tests on prisoners from villages they destroy. But their allies are almost always rescued. Then sweet talked in to joining. Because fear based does not earn the results of blind loyalty. Every person that Oro has used as a host has been willing, in fact Guren and Kimimaro were both gutted they ended up not being chosen for various reasons. Force is never necessary, the only host who was not overly happy for the position (other than Sasuke who was just outsmarting Oro all along), was that guy with the white hair. But Oro only selected him because time was up and they had to emergency evacuate their former host. Even so, Oro offered that guy some kind of deal in return. People just have this weird concept that if someone is a villain, everything that person does is going to be evil. They don’t understand the idea that good people can do bad things, and bad people can do good things. Does rescuing orphans and giving a safe place to those in need make Oro any more moral after they kill hundreds and experiment on humans? No. Their good side won’t ever make them less unethical, nor will it make their past deeds forgivable. But other than the fact that Oro doesn’t mourn the loss of their people (and feels feathers if shinobi wearing their headband dies in a chess game like strategy), they don’t abuse their own. Which perhaps, is more logical than nice. Even the strong have to make allies.

ALRIGHT EVERYONE. LISTEN UP! WE ARE GOING TO ANNOUNCE SOME RULES THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED REGARDING THE UPCOMING HOLIDAY TOMORROW AND I DON’T WANT TO REPEAT SOME INCIDENTS THAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR.  

*Ahem* 

Here are the rules for tomorrow and for White Day next month and you WILL abide to them or else face severe consequences afterwards. 

Rule 1. There will be no decorations in the hideout that will interfere in the workplace. You’re free to decorate in your own rooms, but not in the hallways or outside the hideout. And no vandalism  in the hideout, bathrooms or workplace, any “name + name” or “I love X”  writing or carving will not only be erased but the vandals will suffer the consequences. Only real stupid idiots will reveal themselves like that to the public. 

Rule 2. There are going to be an increase of security patrols so only our trusted subordinates will be patrolling the hallways so that any trespassers or intruders will be apprehended. So around 9:00 pm everyone must go to bed and stay in their rooms until morning. Anyone who is not a servant or a guard wandering out in the halls around past that time will be questioned and returned to their rooms. And anyone objecting or resisting the guard’s orders will be promptly punished by a harsh beating and forcibly dragged to their rooms and locked in there until morning and await for their punishment.

Rule 3. There will be no gift giving unless the person you’re giving the gift to gives you permission and will accept the gifts. That means no leaving presents or cards in the individual’s hallway doors as any gifts left in the hallway will be thrown away by the guards. 

Rule 4. Do not enter or even attempt sneak into the bedrooms of other people unless invited in. Anyone caught doing this or trying to do this will be forcibly dragged into their own rooms and locked in with a guard outside keeping an eye on them until morning, awaiting punishment. 

Rule 5. Any fights or killings that happen on that day will not be tolerated and both individuals or group will be reassigned to “cell duty” until further notice. And if there’s a body by the end of the day or if someone just so happens to be “sick” from a mysterious illness or if someone suspects poisoning or drugging of any kind. We WILL find out who killed or poisoned them! 

Rule 6. Related to the above, any sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, black mailing someone to have sex, or sexual assaults will not be tolerated either! And if someone reports it, it will be put under investigation and both victim and the accused will be judged by Lord Orochimaru and myself. Do not try to lie or make false accusations either, Lord Orochimaru and I are very good at detecting lies and physical or sexual injuries or the after effects of someone who just had sex so don’t even try. If you’re not lying, consider yourself lucky that we’re here to take the time to help you. 

Rule 7. No wearing revealing clothing throughout the whole day and all men must wear a t-shirt at least. That means no short shorts, no mini skirts, no tank shirts that reveal the chest area for both male and female, no crop shirts, everyone wears a belt with their pants to prevent underwear from being seen, no flashing, no see through clothing, no tight clothing that reveals someone’s figure like leggings, no lingerie, and finally no torn clothing either.  The only exceptions of this rule are Lord Orochimaru’s desired hosts which are, Sasuke Uchiha, Kimimaro Kaguya, and Guren.”  Don’t complain to me why, complain to Lord Orochimaru about that. 

Rule 8. PDA which means “Public Display of Affection” will not be tolerated outside your own bedrooms and no public sex will be allowed in the hideout either. If you or your date wish to have time together, you both are free to go to the nearby town and rent a hotel room for the both of you, but you will not use Otogakure allowances other than the money in your own pocket to pay for the both of you. And make sure that you are not followed when you return to the hideout because otherwise, you AND your date will be punished. 

Ok, I think that settles all of the rules, so I encourage you all to continue working and if you must, you will celebrate the holiday discretely and with the best behavior.
