I love path of fire cuz the commander reached maximum levels of doing insane things to save the world.

Well I havent done futher dlcs but I hope they get even crazier.

Everytime a character says "This is an insane idea" Im like yeah, what else do you expect from them?

Clear and reasonable thinking didn't kill a dragon and here we have a dragon, a god and an undead idiot (praise joko)

So, recently there was a prompt in my character-focused guild [CC] about what each of our particular characters’ Domain of the Lost looked like, it being shaped by their memories and all.

Feilim was about 3 years old, and his entire life was comprised of combat. Nothing else. He wouldn’t have been able to escape the Domain, for he would have remained confused and scared, lost in the most traumatic memories of his short life. And that wasn’t even considering how he wouldn’t be able to move on anyway without Calach by his side.

Stained Glass (Chap 5, Path of Fire)

When a stray fireball from Balthazar takes out half of the wooden stairway, Teraphany summons wings of light to bring her up instead, just barely making it onto the next ledge. “You’re fucking dead when I get back!” Her hands dig straight into the rotting wood, and she pulls herself up before continuing her reckless sprint. “I’ll never forgive you! I’ll--!” The whole world shakes around Teraphany, nearly knocking her back off the edge. Balthazar lets out a loud, rippling laugh, and it’s enough to set Teraphany on fire alone. “I’m the one who gets to decide if I want to fight,” she rasps, and even as the desert itself quakes under Balthazar’s wrath, she continues to drag herself up the steps, then the rocks, carelessly cutting her palms on the jagged cliff face. “I’m the one who decides if I want to put my life on the line! NO ONE tells me what to do! I’m not under anyone’s control but myself! I’m doing this duty with you because there’s nowhere else in this stupid, godforsaken world that I’d choose to be!” She leaps across a final gap in the bridge, and finally, she pulls herself up onto the top of the spire. “Do you hear me, Erin?! I’m--” There’s nothing left on the peak except clear desert skies and a burnt corpse. Teraphany doesn’t say anything. She doesn’t even realise what she’s doing until a bird perches onto Erin’s broken body, landing as gracefully as snowfall. Her hands fly to her greatbow to shoot it out of the sky, because she can’t-- no fucking desert scavenger is going to pick at Erin when she’s-- "What are you doing?” When Raven speaks to her, voice as cold as the snowstorm where Erin found him, Teraphany knows that there is no more playing pretend. “She’s already dead.”

Path of Fire, huh.

Can't get over this

This is a (rough) estimate of the path Miyani and Zommoros traveled ON FOOT when escaping from Elona.

For some sense of scale, that brown circle in the top left corner with a bright dot in the middle? That's Divinity's Reach, a whole god dagn city.

What with Zommoros being a fairly powerful djinn, it's difficult to know how much of the travel he was able to just magically skip. But we've seen how djinn move around via at least one escort, so they're obviously not on the same level as most mesmers in terms of teleportation. So maybe about a third of the travel time was reduced thanks to Zommoros' knowledge of sand portals, which are limited to the desert, and any speed boosting abilities he could offer (we can assume he's technically similar to an elementalist, just one that's only attuned to water.) So instead of the roughly 6 months it might have initially taken, it might have been reduced to 4.

For extra context, we know for sure that Miyani was heading east from Amnoon when she encountered Zommoros. We can assume that her goal was to get to the Temple of Kormir. Course we also know she eventually gets to Lion's Arch, so what path would be the best option?

Normally traveling by boat would be easiest in medieval-ish times, but you've got the Risen coming from Orr, so that's not an option in this case. There's a good chance Miyani didn't leave Amnoon with a mount, so the path of least resistance takes priority.

It's hard to know exactly how much of the mountains from the southern Shiverpeaks are impassable on foot, but for the sake of simplicity, let's assume that somewhere along the southern part there's a path people could travel through. Once they've reached Thunderhead Peaks it's quite easy in terms of guestimating where they might go.

Basically the entire path can be summarized as "they avoided any water with a known Risen population and didn't climb mountains as much as possible." Disclaimer we have no expertise on irl map geography stuff so feel free to offer insights.

I would like to hear about Cross' chain scars on her back please 👉👈

oh! (spoilers for path of fire) it's a concept I've been meaning to use for a while, but it's from the magical chains that Balthazar throws on you like a handful of times when you encounter him. with how much Cross would've been struggling against them + they're magical, she'd have burn scars in the shape of chains across her shoulders from it. especially since he does it to the Commander so many times. they'd be criss-crossed over her shoulders and back.

I couldn't find a pic of him doing this to the Commander so Vlast is demonstrating for me, but they very specifically cross over the back (drawing these scars is on my to-do list)
