Introducing

Vesta Mistpaw

Revenant • Olmakhan • Former Blood Legion

Vesta has a gruff exterior and is fierce when she needs to be, but she has a lot of love for those she's close with and is the first to volunteer to protect her friends or fight those that hurt them.

Now an Olmakhan, she was Blood Legion before becoming disillusioned with the legions and wars. She initially joined Blood to use her strength and ferocity to protect those she cared about, but the treatment she recieved after most of warband died, the treatment of her gladium sire, and her eventual understanding that her killing of Legionnaire Urvan Steelbane never could have fundamentally changed or fixed anything, led to her becoming disillusioned with the high legions as a whole and the Charr culture at Black Citadel. Her discovery of the Olmakhan was the last thing she needed to finally leave Ascalon behind, convincing as much of her warband as she could to join her. Knowing that there was a Charr society that was communal rather than hierarchal, one that wasn't in an endless war, she finally found a place that truly felt like somewhere she could call home.

Veerle Deathsong

one thing I'm only just realizing is that there's a lot of potential for a relationship between Veerle and Halennia. They're both mothers with estranged daughters, and I think Veerle might want a little of Halennia's nature to rub off on her (while also being a bit bitter and envious about it). Halennia would probably be at odds with her on some level but she also has to see the parallels.

can see a drunken Veerle opening up one night when the steading hall is empty. Halennia telling her she needs to say all that to her daughters, but eventually realizing that Veerle needs to hear it herself first.

Veerle is stubborn, and while she's grown and changed, some of her old personality remains. She does not lightly suffer fools or incompetents. She has very little patience. She can be abrupt or dismissive. Those who didn't know her before she went into the Mists will likely just think she's an asshole...but her daughters will see the change.

Ruenar doesn't exactly welcome her with open arms, but she is at least willing to hear Veerle out. Saskia, on the other hand, still holds a lot of anger and resentment, and distrusts that Veerle is even who she says she is.

(they'll probably get into a few shouting matches, and probably both turn to Ruenar later with the same complaint of "why won't she listen/understand??" Ruenar is the only one who has any patience in the family, but this is going to test her.)

Veerle's "found family" won't be much help in this regard, at least not until she gets Glint. The only person she can really see to turn to is Halennia, and she will do that only grudgingly at first. Halennia has the patience of a glacier, though, and she's got a knack for seeing the good in people and coaxing it out. She would likely be the first person to show any kind of positive attention to Veerle, and it will take Veerle a while to get used to a relationship that isn't transactional.

My charr revenant, Umbra Shadowshot.

In-game mechanics wise, she's going to be a Renegade, but her actual story-wise stance is her entire warband. She was the only survivor of another member of her warband, their former legionnaire, selling them out to the Flame Legion. She killed her legionnaire herself before returning to the Black Citadel, and his voice also whispers in her mind, though the rest of her warband often drowns him out.

Umbra has chosen to remain a gladium and travels Tyria with the ghosts of her brothers and sisters at her side. It was in this time that she discovered she could hear the whispers of the dead of Tyria as a whole, and this eventually led her to the mysterious Rata Novus survivor, Xeonna.

Fiercely loyal and fiercely protective, Umbra is otherwise good natured and amiable. She doesn't see herself as a gladium, either- at least not really. Her warband is always with her, aiding her in battle and protecting her and her tiny companion.
