Here are my favorite Gym Leaders (and Nanu) to counterbalance my least favorite Gym Leaders!

Kinda debating whether I should have gone with Koga or Sabrina since he does become an E4 member a generation later, but decided to go with him since that came later. Genuinely tough call between those two, but Koga's design and personality just always appealed to me a little more. (Sabrina did scare the crap out of me as a little kid tho in her anime debut.)

Morty has probably had one of my favorite glow-ups in the series. I always wanted to cosplay him, but our only con is in August and I would probably die of heat stroke. 😅

Probably a weird pick, but I always liked how jovial Wattson was. (Tho there is a bit of a facade there, from what I recall he had a bit of a shady past in ORAS with the New Mauville project. That makes him pretty interesting imo.)

Volkner is such a goddamn menace that Lear probably wants to literally strangle half the time, but I love seeing more of that side of him on Pasio! (There's also him being friends with Flint, and having a fun dynamic with him.)

I will forever remember Brycen just throwing hands with Team Plasma in Generations, completely forgoing having an actual Pokemon battle with them. Instant favorite. Kick their asses!

I really always loved Valerie's elegant design, but her personality and wanting to actually be a Pokemon is a lot of fun too.

I would consider the Kahunas a Gym Leader equivalent too, probably just not counting Hala since he's an E4 member too within that Generation, but Nanu is just cool from looking after Acerola, to being a UB hunter within the International Police alongside Looker in his backstory, to getting one of the most morbidly funny lines in a Pokémon game when he meets the protagonist, to kinda being the first dark-type Gym Leader, I just love the dude and he's my favorite Alolan character! I was so happy when they gave him a supporting role in the postgame of SM.

Our first true Dark-type Gym Leader, Piers is definitely my favorite Galar character overall alongside Raihan, and it was a tough call between them, but I really liked how they gave Piers an extended role in the postgame where he was more actively helping the player deal with the Royal Pain in the Ass brothers, so he was who I went with. It's also adorable how he dotes on/frets over Marnie.

Larry is also an E4 member, so I'll probably do one of these and feature him for my favorite of the Paldea E4 (tough call between him, Rika, and Hassel tho), so Ryme is runner-up. Her battle was just a lot of fun with the crowd hyping you up. She had a cool personality too, I really enjoyed her a lot as a character. They never miss with Ghost users.

and you shall receive, though I'm still on my old people shtick. I also focused a lot on the fangs this time around. slightly nsfw so I'm putting it under a read more.

Lt. Surge- oh fuck me, am I right?

\ is actually a Beta but EVERYONE assumes he's an Alpha. he's got the trade mark anger and cockiness of one but in reality he's just a veteran happy to whoop some kids ass's and get paid for it.

\ very big dad energy to his Gym Trainers and will get all growly if their hurt or sick. though they don't get sick as often as they get hurt by the electric types around the gym.

\ his instinct are stronger then the normal person's so he's totally bit a Pokémon back when he was younger and now his mouth is filled with electrical burns/wounds. if he sticks his tongue out it looks like an Ariados web of raised wounds. he's not a fan of crunching down on hard things and it sucks because he was an ice muncher, still is in his heart but now he has to actually suck on the cubs - it helps keeps his patience in check sometimes because his mouth would be full and he can't speak.

Koga - I hate you yet I also adore you, in a way

\ an Omega but acts like an Alpha but a lot of the older league members know because of the Slick Incident of 94.

\ prefers to be chased by possible bed partners instead of being the chaser, but there's a few people he'd chase for if given the chance.

\ really REALLY tiny fangs, even for an Omega and got made fun of it during childhood and early adult hood. so now he has these teeth cap things that make it seem his canines are longer.

Clair - hello, hello

\ Alpha but acts more like a Beta and even submissive like an Omega behind close doors. it's almost natural for her since she grew up in Lance's shadow and was expected to present as a Beta at most.

\ she prefers more dominate Omega's as bed partners and would sometimes actively seek out Omega's that were taller then her. gender doesn't matter to her as long as the partner is just more dominant. in the end those people actually become her friends a lot of times afterwards and it's nice.

\ very long and skinny fangs and her parents kept taking her to the doctor in the Blackthorne City to figure out what the hell is wrong with her. nothing way, the teeth just naturally grew like that.

Lance - ya old ginger fuck

\ Omega and hates it. became both Johto and Kanto's champion just to prove his parents wrong after calling him worthless.

\ chunky semi short fangs and he teethed a lot while growing up and still continues to teeth to this day. the E4 of both regions have gotten him plenty of those chewing stims as little gifts during the holidays or when he's super stressful near the ending of the League's seasons. his favorite are the crystal shape ones that are a bit more tougher then the usual squishy rubber.

\ likes to fight his bed partners and be pressed into the bed, genuinely doesn't want the control in the end and it feels nice to him when it's stripped away. this means he's very particular about his partners and also wants someone bigger then him, though if their really strong then body size doesn't matter.

Brawly - lemme see those gains-PFT

\ above average Alpha for the Hoenn region, it helps that he's training almost every day and is on top of what his body needs food wise and focusing on what's missing like calcium or other vitamins.

\ very spry and energetic and acts like a puppy, this leads to Wallace and Steven in keeping an eye on him during league parties and gala's Brawly attends because he can get worked up really fast.

\ unlike most Hoenn Alpha's that seek their pleasure, Brawly almost exclusively gives. he doesn't mind receiving but prefers his partners to be the canter of the attention for most of the night.

League members of the same type specialty are all in contact and are pretty close. Out side of in-league friendships, you wont find a stronger league bond between two gym leaders of the same type. Similarly for the E4 members, though Dark Type specialists adopted Piers and Marnie (and Nanu but he's basically E4 but retired before he started) and while they're close, their close in their own way.

There are exceptions, of course, Burgh and Mina are thick as thieves but also will absolutely rip into one another in terms of art, Mallow and the Striatan Trio and Seibold exchange cooking tips, etc.

But every type group has a group chat and it's amazing to see the differences between them.

While the Fire Type Chat members are rather chatty (“even for old people @ kabu and blaine ” - a quote from Flint and Flannery), the Dark type chat will have Sidney asking about something and just "Read at 3:42 AM" followed by "lol you use that brand? Nerd" from Karen two days later. 

Raihan, Clair and Iris make up most of the messages from the Dragon Type, but Lance can and will pop in when Raihan and Iris start bullying ™ Clair. To bully Clair. Cain Instinct ™ (Drayden and Dresna sit back and watch) but on the other hand the Psychic’s chat is very pleasent. They’ve all collectively decided Liza and Tate are Baby ™ 

Klara and Janine are in a constant battle in the Poison chat though. Klara sends “lol Jannie ur dad’s a dilf” and Janine screeches and deletes it as fast as she can before Koga sees. It’s a problem. Roxie thinks it’s hilarious.

Wallace and Juan and Nessa dominate the water-type chat with beauty tips, not that anyone really minds though Crasher Wake is a bit puzzled. Lana is also certified Baby ™ of the group.

Giovanni never left the Ground type chat and on the regular its just:
