dsmp if...they wanted to propose to you!
dsmp if... series goes wild  anyway
dream: - he’d put himself out there with a poise of confidence and strategy - like bro is prepared . he knows when where what why and how all this shit is happening  - but is also kinda like “ill just wing it and we’ll see how it goes lol” - get this man a schedule - he doesnt want to do a whole public thing so in my head i see him proposing to you in like a restaurant but like a fancy one - hed splurge for sURE  - one of those guys who had like 50 million meeting with ring companies to design the perfect one - asked his mom for help on designing a ring  - he had the blueprint for a speech in his head but when the moment came he went with the flow  - but when hes proposing hed remember his speech so hed be like - “i had this speech that id written, but looking at you made me forget it all, will you marry me?” or some shit like that LMFAOOO - pays sapnap money to come eat the place too so he can take pictures
sapnap: - okay sapnap is a family man in my head - hed also want to do a destination proposal - maybe greece? rome? somewhere not in america is what im feeling - or hed do it in a fucking ranch in texas or like down the street from the dream team house either one - EITHER WAY he would want your parents and his parents MINIMUM to be there - searches up “best wedding ring designs 2022″ in google and hopes and prays - hed have one or two meeting to plan the ring but i think he’d be confident in what you like  - even if he has no clue - like “so sir, do you think your future fiance would like a rose gold band or gold band?” “rose gold for sure” *has no idea what you like * - would not try to plan a speech, he knows he’d forget it and wouldn’t even use it - saves all that material for the vows - so confident you’ll say yes that he starts calling ahead to look at venues to tour - LMFAO IMAGINE YOU ANSWER HIS PHONE AND THE GUY IS LIKE “hello yes we’re calling nick because he had interest in touring our wedding venue! congrats on the engagement!” - and youd be like “tf” - so you know - but dont tell him you know please it would make his year
george: - is nervous - “dream what if they say no idk” “bro youre a fucking idiot” - def doesnt want to do a public proposal, he likes the private aspect - so he does it at home or some shit and his phone up to record cause bro knows youd be mad if you had no memento - but he doesnt do it secretly - hed press record and set it up so you can obviously see it - and youre expecting some prank - but then he gets down on one knee and youre tearing up and shi right in the middle of your kitchen - get mad at him for not letting you dress up and look nice for it - has a speech planned out in his head. word for word. and recites that shit back to you like its fucking drama class - once u say yes hes on discord like “SHE SAID YES” and sapnaps like “no fucking shit” - he’s the type of guy to make a ring that he likes and hopes that you like it too - luckily you do like the ring so it all works out - if not just tell him he wont be mad hell just go make a new one
quackity: - asks you like a few months earlier if you want to get married - “do you wanna get married” “sure” - so he knows youre locked in and ready to go LMFAOO even if you interpreted it as light hearted at the time - because of that theres a little suspicion that goes on in your mind when you see him go “i gotta take this call” or “no im def not looking up wedding venues 2023 what do you mean” - but you being the great s/o you are just ignore it - is he proposing or did he take you on a late night drive to an outlook thing - is he proposing or did you catch karl in the bushes with a camera - is he proposing or did he say youre beautiful - is he proposing or did he get down on one knee?? YK WHAT IM SAYING - bro just stares at you and you stare at him like - “babe” “babe” love - youre nodding ur head yes before bro gets a chance to speak - which is good cause he didn’t know what he wanted to say - not that he doesnt know what to say its just - he has so many words for you that he cant put them into words - was ready to blurt out a mixture of spanish and english and hope u caught his drift
karl: - enlists the help of his friend - “hey tina take y/n to get their nails done” - “hey brooke take y/n to get a new dress” - “hey sapnap give me money to buy y/n a ring” LMFAOFMOA - no hed be saving up that shit for AGES - started a proposal dream pinterest board the minute he knew you were the one - subtly ran ideas by you over the course of the years you were together - you didnt think of anything. blissfully unaware - “look at this picture on pinterest!” “oh its sO PRETTY!! imagine getting engaged there” - *saves it to the board* - BUT AS A RESULT he cant make up his mind on where to propose - so he just picks one enie-meanie-miney-mo or however you spell it  - wherever it ends up being its so sweet - mr beast or someone tricks you into coming to the location under the guise of a video  - and you show up and its karl in a suit - “lets go on a walk love” “okay?” - you get an idea of whats about to happen
wilbur: - stalks your pinterest stalks your moms pinterest stalks your ex friends sister met someone at the club and he kissed her’s pinterest - is SO CONFIDENT he’s got everything right because all his information is form you directly - plans that shit out to a T  - “okay phil at 11:02 am you call y/n and say good morning any plans for the day then tommy at 11:34 am call y/n and ask her if she wants to join you for a vlog at [location]” “dude wil we know lets just get on with it” - chooses somewhere with ambience with music perhaps by the ocean or a river or something - meticulously listens to all of spotify for the perfect song to play in the background - hired james and ash (professionals) to film  -  public proposal wants the world to know that he is wilbur and he loves you -  isnt nervous about proposing but is scared something is gonna go wrong -  the whole build up to the proposal is a blur to him  - he wants it to be perfect - hes mentally checking everything off in his head as it happens - “okay so we arrived on time, check” “we’re standing in the right direction check” - when the time comes to propose he blanks - cause everything went right and now its showtime - says whatever is on his mind and then gets on track - “oh my god everything i alright this is amazing! but i love you dear like a lot and...” - cue cheering from tommy (and a lot of soft smiles from random people) when you say yes
please send me requests it took me days to figure out what to write about here

could u write kaveh diluc or kaeya with an obsessive m reader? like yandere type (or just obsessive whatever u want) I love the way u write them ur my fav blog
following elysium [m.reader]
maaaaan i haven’t written anything yandere in a good while now. but i can’t say i don’t miss it. this takes me back to my obsession with yandere character arc (*coughs in yan asogi that i still obsess over in my drafts*) so this request will let me know if i’ve lost my touch. also, why pick between three when you can have all lolololll
𖦹 dark themes, yandere male reader (ranging from manipulative, to overprotective, to soft), manipulation everywhere (like a lot, i swear i’m not good at it irl or am i jkjk), obsessive themes, some mentions and allusions of death, some isolation, scare tactics, love bombing
𐂂 obsession is a lethal poison, and yet you’ve survived a gallon of doses.
Kaveh
Tumblr media
Your sweet naïve little Kaveh was quite the adorable one, always so considerate, so willing to please and so eager to do what he can in order to satisfy you, a mere admiring client of his. A man that he knew that personally sought him out to the ends of Sumeru just to meet him and commission him. Just because for some reason, you had heard of him from the outskirts of this vast nation.
Oh truly what an honor it is.
If only he knew it took one smile from him and a small greeting from exactly just a year ago when he officially met you, that sent you spiraling into a mad obsession that longed to pursue him; if only he insisted to look inside the office you’ve kept him off of, he would have seen the altar that could rival any other archons out there; if only he had a lick of awareness in him, he would’ve seen that your devilishly charming smiles were indeed the work of something far more sinister.
Alas, he was your sweet little architect, unaware of your leering stares, gazes so predatory it could leave any prey scampering off, ready to pounce at him and just break him.
But you are a man of class, you knew your way around people’s hearts, and Kaveh’s weakness was the positive feedback he gets from his clients. He’s helping out of the goodness of his heart, after all, mora is not so much of an issue (to the point of him even incurring a debt), and he was even just as generous with you, refusing the pounds of mora that you were willing to lay at his feet (though you send him away with heaps still).
And as your gaze flitted from the blueprints of your master’s bedroom renovation to the man currently in charge of it, a small smile wormed its way to your face. Truly your esteemed genius architect is a lovely one, how lucky were you that you met him on that particular day.
“Hm… I don’t think with the way we’ve recently renovated your hallways, your bedroom pans out at all,” his bottom lip stuck out into an adorable pout, and it took every cell in your body to control the maddening urge to kiss them, to bite them until you even get a taste of him.
“Is that so?” You casually leaned over, drawing yourself nearer than normal. And heaven swallowed you whole when you got a whiff of that familiar honey scented shampoo that Kaveh often used (you’ve made a note of buying more in stock once you’ve enacted the final steps in your little plan).
However, even that lovely scent wasn’t enough to keep your attention away from the way Kaveh stiffened, from the way his grip around the parchment of your blueprint significantly tightened to the point of ripping it apart, from the way his breath hitched.
“I— A-Ah! Um! Yes—!”
From the way his voice cracked — those red eyes peered up at you — to the way those gazes of his became increasingly fonder and more frenzied, much like yours, but less subtle. Kaveh was always bad at hiding how he truly feels, and it made it easier for you to trap him in your little cage, to snip away his wings until he’s fully tied down to you.
You tilted your head, cocking an eyebrow as you put him in his place, rendering him almost speechless when he briskly turned back to the blueprint, wide-eyed and flustered. How adorable.
“Well, I trust that you know how our transactions are, my dear,” your tone was suave and smooth, practiced to perfection, and the same way with your movements that were calculated for precision, ensnaring your poor unsuspecting Kaveh. You took a lock of his hair in your hand, twirling it around as you attempted to find his averted gaze. “Go all out. Mora is not an issue.”
Kaveh’s head stuttered as he nodded, his trembling hands barely able to release the poor blueprint from his vice grip. He somehow didn’t know why, but there were recent changes about you in the few and far between times that he sees you for your personal consultation. Kaveh thought it sweet really, that you would go out of your way to contact a grand and comfortable enough transportation to take him to your home instead of making him walk a hundred miles just to do so (despite his initial insistence to do it instead).
You were the first client that has been so generous with praises and mora when it comes to your payment, and while the architect can afford to be modest about accepting your financial payment, even he couldn’t hide the metaphorical wagging of his tail should you even grace him one compliment for his efforts. Don’t get him wrong though, he knows he’s good, how else could he have graduated with honors if not?
Nevertheless, your approval was something Kaveh continuously sought, until every letter of commission you sent him suddenly had him mistaking it for a letter of something more… intimate, something that held a rather romantic connotation.
He took your kindness for something more, unknowing of your ulterior motives, blissfully unaware about the obsession that gets you high, and absolutely clueless about the fact that ten of your men — the ones that greeted him so jovially as they gave him a ride to your grand home — had their eyes on his every move on the days he would be off back home, acting as your eyes, all perfectly ready to execute someone should they harm a hair on his head.
Thoughts of you became even more intrusive the more he met with you, Kaveh found you addicting, and he even felt ashamed of the fact that he did so. You’re his client! He shouldn’t be so emotionally involved in the first place. He was there to do his job that you commissioned him for.
But a moment of clarity soon encompassed him when he realized that he has previous engagements to this. That he shouldn’t be staying the night at your home once more to work on renovating your bedroom.
“Ah… I just remembered…” Kaveh’s frown was unmistakable, and suddenly the feeling of eagerness of him meeting up with his friends at the usual tavern was replaced with blatant hesitance at the thought of leaving you. But he quickly shook it off, turning back to you, “Hey… I hope you don’t mind if I can postpone our work for now…”
Where did you get that wine?
Your gaze lifted from the swirling burgundy in your glass, “Oh? How come? Need some inspiration?”
“I just remembered I promised to meet with my friends tonight. It’s only once a month.”
Your lips almost turned down into a disdainful scowl but opted for a small, reserved disappointed frown, “Ah. I see. How disappointing that is,” you murmured, but it was enough for Kaveh to hear. Deceitfully disheartened, like practiced and the way Kaveh’s eyebrows furrowed in concern was enough of a reaction.
“It wouldn’t be for too long though! I’ll be back tomorrow!” The hesitation crept up on him and it showed in the tone of his voice. Desperation soon followed when his body turned to face yours, a sign of vulnerability and submission in this situation. “It’s not… it’s not as if I’m leaving or anything.”
You heaved a sigh, “But that would be too much on you, making you come all the way back and even after spending some time with your friends too.” You can only thank the lucky stars that you were a son of a theatre actor from Fontaine, it sure came in handy.
“No, I can definitely make it! You’re my best client, I can’t afford to—”
Kaveh’s frantic saving was quickly interrupted when you decided to go in for the kill, “Like I said, I don’t wish to run you ragged… and my family will come and visit soon.” You snapped your fingers, looking at Kaveh with feigned curiosity, “Ah, yes. Might you know any other capable architects? Surely I can’t expect the same work like yours, but someone who would not disappoint would be enough.”
His red eyes immediately went wide, completely baffled at your suggestion. You were willing to replace him? Just like that?
“I…” Kaveh looked down, suddenly meek. “I don’t know anyone who can do that much,” he muttered despite knowing otherwise. He was kind to his fellow architects, but surely he can afford to be selfish about you just this once?
He failed to see the way your eyes shone with satisfaction, contrasting you disheartened tone, “Hm… pity that is…”
Well. Missing one night wouldn’t hurt, right?
Kaveh looked back up at you, “I… I suppose I can afford to just show up next time. We do these hangouts all the time anyway,” his words completely contrasted his claim of scarce meets earlier, but it was more than enough for you to know how quickly he gave in. “Ah, whatever. I’m sure those guys can handle themselves.”
“Are you certain?” You asked, tilting his head up with a hand on his chin, almost getting lost into those ruby reds of his. “I’d hate for you to miss such an important engagement.”
And before he knew it, he willingly embraced the shadows, engulfing every part of him, leaving none untouched. It swallowed him whole, like a limitless void, with no one left to even save him, forgetting anyone else but you and only you.
“No, it’s okay. I don’t mind staying with you.”
You tapped the rim of your glass on his lip, pouring that familiar wine in the small gap of his lips that you’ve graced him on the many nights he would stay to work on your home renovations. You watched with pure delight as Kaveh’s eyes grew hazy and unfocused — left with nothing but with the manipulated admiration for you.
“Good. Let’s enjoy the night, shall we?”

Kaeya
Tumblr media
The infamous Cavalry Captain has no one to blame but himself, really. Even as your superior, he knew no bounds when it comes to reserving himself. He always flaunted himself at you, like a fashionable bird that that preened its wings on the daily just to show off. He was flashy, mouthy, and unbearably attractive.
Being placed under him was hell for all the different reasons. You were constantly in his presence — and you had to shoulder the patience of the kindest archon in existence to resist anything remotely impulsive. You had to be near him in proximity, always around him, accompanying him from the most mundane errands to the most hectic missions.
And while Captain Kaeya was he shining beacon between you and him, you were the dark shadow that walked behind him. It wasn’t your fault, he asked you so himself.
“This guy’s going to shadow me, hope you have no objections to that, Acting Grandmaster,” was what you heard on that one fateful day, before finding your pristine uniform getting remotely crinkled as he dragged you away without breaking a sweat.
Since that day, no person in Monstadt can claim that they’ve seen Kaeya without you, or you without him. It was almost like fate, except it was a fate that forged a bond from the depths of abyss — a bond that embodied nothing but a push and pull relationship, the distance and proximity, the obsession and submission.
You had to watch him put himself out there, when you can just as easily drag that information from someone if you asked with a blade on their throat; that usually gets people talking. But he dismissed you easily, and let you stew in the cesspool of madness that his actions slowly created.
And you were none the wiser, you cleaned up the messes he made, you made sure to silence the people once they came into their senses that they’ve been bested by yet again the sniveling calvary captain of the order.
All of his commands, you obeyed without complaint.
And oddly enough, it brought you a sense of comfort. That he trusts you this much, that he’s willing to let you go rampant in exchange for his safety — one that you never failed on doing. All of it, to keep him safe.
Until recently, you found it inconvenient to let him off without a leash. Seeing him come home from an excursion with scratches that decorated his poor body — adding further into those battle scars that you’ve once had the displeasure of seeing when he asked you to aid him into wrapping himself with a handful of bandages — and it wasn’t the greatest sight. You fussed over him like a mother hen, never once letting him out of your sight.
You were rewarded with a grateful side-hug from the captain, and it was enough to fuel your mission in protecting him.
“Ah! Captain! Should I accompany you today?” You asked as you approached him with a blinding grin — in fact so blinding, he had to squint his one good eye. For a shadow, you sure are bright. Perhaps Kaeya was mistaken when he said you were going to be his behind-the-scenes guy.
Kaeya found you adorable, in all honesty. You had an exuberant energy within you that went unparalleled, and on days that he personally needed someone to pick him up when everything weighed down on him, it seemed like you almost had a sixth sense for it and was almost always by his side. Not that he minded — he was grateful above all else. And on days when the drunkard bard or Rosaria weren’t around to keep him company, he trusts that you have some reserved liquor in your home so he can drink away his problems and still be fine in his sleep.
If only he knew how hard you stared at him, obsessively looking him over while you slowly drowned in your fantasies — one of which him finally being chained to you, devoted and stuck waiting at home while you defend his honor without him having to harm himself in the process.
“There you are, missed me already?” He asked with a cheeky grin.
You did. You couldn’t sleep a wink, knowing that you weren’t around to protect him.
You scratched your head and laughed, “Aw, don’t be so mean captain. I only care about your wellbeing!”
“Hm~? How sweet… sure wouldn’t hurt to have you around every now and then.”
You have been. You prowled around his remote home, kicking stones and staring longingly in the window, ready to pounce at anyone who seemed vaguely threatening.
Kaeya thought how endearing you might be if you were to be his, but with the mission he carries on his back, he wonders if it’s even worth it having you, only to betray you in the end. He wonders if you can betray your own homeland for him.
You would, without question. You will lay a hundred corpses of the Order’s knights at his feet should he ask.
“Don’t tease me so much, captain,” your pout was enough to lift his spirits from that asinine thought. “Now, where are you going? I’ll go prepare my things.”
“Just heading up to Dragonspine to meet with the chief investigator. It shouldn’t be too hard, so you can just stay here and enjoy a bit of downtime, yeah? Go bother my brother if you want, you have my full permission.”
You frowned and Kaeya suddenly felt a chill crawl through his spine. You never did expressed such a disappointment even on the most difficult situations, and it suddenly feels like he made a mistake in refusing you. Perhaps it was because you towered over him so easily, perhaps it was because you could catch him without even trying that Kaeya suddenly felt so small in comparison to you.
The tension lasted for a good minute, silence engulfed the both of you and Kaeya has never felt so uncomfortable in his own skin. Should he have taken his answer back? But really, there was no need for you to escort him in the first place.
You then broke the silence with a quiet, dispirited sigh.
“Okay, but please keep safe, alright?” You patted the captain’s cheeks, sending him a small smile before heading off.
Kaeya didn’t like the way the guilt gnawed in his chest.
And while you also didn’t like an act of betrayal, you found it necessary at times — times when lessons had to be taught. The Acting Grandmaster said so herself, that experience is the best teacher.
Kaeya trudged through the coldness of Dragonspine, completely hating the fact that he had no company now. Maybe he should’ve just agreed to your proposition, and you looked so sad too! Like a kicked puppy that was told to sleep outside in the cold night. He couldn’t bear the thought of you looking so sad — you were his partner, of course you should’ve come!
Alas, the feelings of being attached to someone burdened him so, and while he sought your brightest and warmest of smiles, he couldn’t muster the courage to see it fall on the day that he fulfills what he knows would be his inevitable fate in the long run.
However all his rumination came into a halt the moment he heard a roar that thundered quite literally just beside him.
Kaeya had little time to think the moment the beast emerged from the towering trees of the mountains, his head blanking as he watched it lunge towards him with great speed. His hand that went up to the hilt of his sword suddenly froze the very moment he realized he was a little too late.
Closing his eye shut, he braced for the impact until suddenly, the beast roared and he could hear the familiar sickening sound of a blade piercing through the flesh.
Mere seconds were all it took for him to regain his breathing, his ears ringing as the adrenaline pumped through his veins. He now wonders if he really should’ve taken you up on your offer on escorting him in the first place, sure would’ve eased the guilt he felt inside and maybe he wouldn’t have to space out in the middle of his trail.
“Captain! Are you okay?!”
His eye flew open, seeing your angelic face that held nothing but pure concern for him. He glanced back at the slain beast and back to you, pupils dilated — you were here. Here. And you protected him.
He stayed still, watching in bated breath as you dropped your bloodied greatsword that stained the thick coat of snow. You smiled a little, brushing away a few strands of hair from his face, “There’s my captain. Are you alright? Did it hurt you?”
“Y…You’re here…?”
You blinked before laughing, bashful and what Kaeya can consider as remotely adorable in any other day, “Ah… yeah. I know you said I can’t come… but I can’t help it! What if you were in trouble and I wasn’t there to protect you? So I came and good thing I did!”
Kaeya’s lips trembled, before lunging in to hug you tight, almost sending you tumbling into the snow. You quickly returned the gesture, wrapping your arms around him tight. You patted his back, rubbing circles to soothe your poor little captain.
“There, there. From now on, let’s stick together, okay?”
The captain nodded into your shoulder, looking up to look at the unmoving beast that laid in the snow.
He does wonder though… since when were wild beasts in this mountain leashed?

Diluc
Tumblr media
To the citizens of Mondstadt, their uncrowned king remains as cold and as untouchable as he can be. He rarely interacted with anyone, and was almost always either cooped up in his manor, or out in other nations to further propagate his empirical business in the wine industry. He was always on the move, and people admired him for that.
And you were willing to bet your entire life that their admiration would grow tenfold when they realized that Diluc was the unsung Darknight Hero that terrorized every monsters that hoped to wreak havoc in the lives of the citizens.
Alas, the situation remains as it were, with him completely aloof to the people, leaving either a terrifying impression, or one that could leave someone seething at his unwelcoming tendencies.
But you would be remiss to blindly agree to that. In fact, you vehemently denied those claims as you remained by his side, like a loyal watchdog for him to command as he so pleases.
He was your savior first before your now superior. Diluc was your beacon of hope on the very day he rescued you from the cold rain, ostracized from your nation that you once loved and now left with a gaping void on your chest. You could still remember the feeling of that cold rain while you trudged within the Dawn Winery’s vicinity, when suddenly the rain stopped pelting harshly on you as a pair of shoes entered your field of vision.
You could still remember his words echo within your ears.
“You’re going to get sick. Come inside and let the rain pass at least.”
The rest was history after that, and now you sat as the elusive and capable butler of the famed prolific young man of the Ragnvindr clan. Though in fairness, you weren’t particularly elusive, and Adelinde can attest to that.
She has never seen someone handle their Master Diluc so delicately. She could sing her praises to you endlessly, with your attentive nature, and you willingness to serve Diluc without even an ounce of hesitation. You’ve certainly earned your keep in their eyes, and even the pyro vision wielder can see your dedication towards him.
There was always something with the way you carried yourself the moment you started working under the Ragnvindr house, you first started off as a mere novice in caring for the house, until you rapidly climbed up the ranks as Diluc’s personal attendant, aiding him in his home as well as his monthly international trips to ensure his safety.
Really, it wasn’t much to be praised for. You were only doing your job, and it’s a job that you found yourself intensely passionate for. To be with Diluc was an honor, to serve the man that saved you from your untimely demise, returning his actions with so much more than what was on offer.
Your service was something that toed between your gratefulness and a borderline obsession.
You gave what you can and Diluc was nothing but completely enamored with you, from your lofty smiles that felt like heaven, to your assisting hands that traced against his shoulders on mornings where you helped him get dressed for the day. All of it was slowly drawing him in. You were perfect, too perfect in fact, and it haunted poor Diluc that knew nothing but pain and betrayal.
“Master Diluc, I believe there is merit to getting some sleep after working so hard,” your smile was light and airy, and it was already a breath of fresh air from the contrasting suffocating environment that was filled to the brim with mindless drunks.
Diluc made a quiet noise of agreement (his mouth barely had the strength to move after talking to so many patrons of his), yet his feet begged to differ as it led him up to his office without skipping a beat.
You folded his coat in your arms and trailed after him, “So then why am I seeing you opening the door to what I believe is not your bedroom door?” You inquire with a croon, lovingly watching the way his hand hesitated to find the doorknob. It was a sign that he heeded your little advice and your little heart that was filled to the brim with love for your master couldn’t help but swell with pride and increase in rate, almost spilling over.
“I have… some reports to attend to. If I can finish it tonight, it would be less burden on me tomorrow,” Diluc reasoned, but it was clear that he was slowly caving into your whims, just the way you like it.
He was inexplicably weak towards you for some reason — something not a lot of people could achieve despite working for him or with him for a good while.
“Would it be wise to tend to them while completely exhausted?”
Once again, you’ve put him in a difficult place. You’re a cunning man, unfortunately for him, able to wriggle in some moments of logic into his brain that prioritized his duties over his own wellbeing. And for some reason, concerning as it is, his brain feels intoxicated as it sways to your will, completely subservient and willing to abide despite the fact that you were his servant and he was the commanding authority in your relationship.
Diluc feels it sometimes — the unsettling feeling of being squeezed tight, like a python coiling around his body as it suffocated him with love and care. His movements are restricted and he was unable to break free from that tightening grasp.
It was almost hard to breathe, but at the same time there was sick sense of comfort that was lodged into the back of his mind. He liked it. It was the affection that he was deprived of, leaving him writhing in the loneliness that he was forced to soldier through. And when you came to him on that one night, you gave him what he needed but not asked for.
You made him feel like he’s worth something, and it made him want to vie for a life worth something as well. It was a feeling that he could get high off of, and you were willing donor to whatever it was that he lacked.
And before he knew it, he sat at his tub comfortably, completely bare and vulnerable while you continued to wash his hair with such gentle hands. Never has he known a touch so kind like yours and he was ready to get lost within it.
“Feeling better?” Your voice coos at his ear, sickeningly sweet and yet he submits himself into it with reckless abandon. Your hands moved from his hair, leaving the most addicting touches as you traced your fingertips from the nape of his neck right to his shoulders that were filled with tension.
“Much,” Diluc muttered, head turning up as his half-lidded eyes met yours, still filled with that irresistible fondness that he grew to be addictive of. “Thank you, [Name].”
You smiled, succinct yet saccharine while your hands worked away the kinks and knots away from your master’s incredibly tensed muscles.
For him, you would give your all, even if it meant to face death. You would throw away anything else because a world without your endearing master is a world not worth living for. You will serve him until the world falls to your feet, and if given the chance, you will do what you can to protect him even beyond your useless life that long passed.
He was your savior and now you were a devout believer — one that worships his master with little to no hesitation. You can beat any other nun or the beloved deacon of that measly church with how much love and devotion you were willing to show him. Hell, even if you can’t, if it’s what Diluc wants, you would do well with dying as you try and make the impossible completely possible just for him.
Your love through subservience was quick to snuff out the wings your master once embodied to soar freely. He slowly caved into you, in need and constantly hungry for more, unaware of his growing dependence on your presence.
“It’s no problem, my lord. I will serve and tail you until the ends of this world. And even in my death, I am yours to command and to have.”
Diluc mirrored your smile, albeit much more tired than your sweet one.
He was the willing prey and you were the loving predator.
The unmistakably perfect match.

What if it's not the Metatron messing with things? What if it's Aziraphale? In an attempt to save the Earth from Heaven and Hell. But maybe not to the extent of the actual book of life theory.
So this whole time post-S1, I've assumed that the two sides teamed up maybe because they were mad at the humans for averting the war. But I think "all of us vs all of them" might actually be humanity trying to avert another apocalypse (on a much bigger scale), whilst both demons and angels are taking an ACTIVE part in making the second coming happen (instead of everyone assuming these two idiots on Earth have it handled).
And I'm thinking about Aziraphale. I'm feeling like he's not going to want to immediately go against everything, and out himself as (still) a traitor. I think he's going to put a lot of work into undermining it, while not being obvious about it.
LIKE, MAYBE, SAY, BEING THE ONE TO SEND AGNES NUTTER VISIONS OF THE FUTURE SO EVERYTHING CAN BE WRITTEN DOWN AND HUMANITY HAS A BLUEPRINT FOR AVERTING THE APOCALYPSE? TWICE??
I feel like maybe we're going to see that Aziraphale really DOES need to be in Heaven and wield that power so he can actually work against it, but I also think that he's going to need Crowley's help earthside to coordinate all of that.
I'm NOT sure what to think about Muriel being in charge of the bookshop so far. They were installed by the Metatron, there are Heavenly ulterior motives. But I DO think it's going to end up being a critical miscalculation on the Metatron's part -- underestimating the power of "the dim one". I really think Muriel is going to help humanity in the end.
Although it would be funny if the Metatron was actually not a bad dude after all. Pretty classic for characters to be set up to be obvious villains, only for them to have secret plans that make them heroes after all. Maybe he really DID need to separate the two so they could work together but on separate pieces, but couldn't be obvious about it so he doesn't get Angel Revolution'd by the archangels who want war. Maybe he HAD to say what he did to Aziraphale about not avoiding the war because it was a test from God to see what he would do.
Like, why Aziraphale? If it's to get him out of the way, why NOT let Michael write him out of the book of life? Why bet on a wild card who's in love with a joker? I am now suspicious of the Metatron not as a villain, but as a secret hero. HMMM!
And just as an added bonus, I found it particularly powerful when Muriel said that books were like portable little people. That honestly feels like it's going to mean something at some point.

Eva Duarte really is that bitch and all her daughters are too.
Jude: mortal girl who is constantly underestimated uses her oceans of inner resources to stage a coup and take the entire crown of elfhame TWICE. Is literally my favorite female character ever written. Stands up to high ranking fae and beats fucking Madoc AND Grima Mog in one on one combat!!!
Taryn: Amazingly adapts to life in faerie and knows what she wants and gets it. Does she want stupid things and is awful? Yes. But she’s still kind of that bitch.
Vivi: stands up to the fae general she witnessed kill her parents for her whole childhood and is determined to live and love in the mortal way she grew up with. She has pitfalls but she does well.
Eva (the og blueprint): Goes to elfhame and MARRIES Madoc the big bad fae general. She isn’t his mistress which is so notable bc they were bound to each other. When she realizes he’s dangerous she runs away with the best mortal blacksmith around. And strategically burns a mother and baby alive (?) in his house so he won’t hurt her family. Literally burns it to the ground while he isn’t home. She had ambition and she was cutthroat and she was that bitch.

Communion
This is my belated Christmas present to @seth-silver-ink! A fic based off their sentient bo-rifle post. It’s also the first complete chapter of a fic I’ve ever written! Stay tune for part two.
********************** **********************
Kallus regained consciousness feeling completely fine, which was the first clue that something was wrong. Even on his best days some part of his body ached. Usually the leg he’d broken on Bahryn that had never healed quite right, his head from staring at his data pad until he passed out, or on very special mornings, both.
The second clue, upon opening his eyes, was that he appeared to be in an infinite void. Better than being strapped into an Imperial interrogation chair, but still concerning. Kallus sat up slowly to get a better sense of his surroundings. The ground beneath him was smooth and reflective. It rippled when he pressed his hand to it, but found himself completely dry as he stood up. The sky, if one could call it that, was a misty color. Squinting his eyes and staring hard, Kallus thought he could almost see stars. Everything around him was touched with the warm gentle colors of a sunrise.
With little else to do Kallus started walking. The ground rippled softly beneath him with each step and he tried to recall how he’d gotten here. Events wove themselves together slowly. There was a mission. An unusual mission. Zeb had come to him early in the morning and said the Ghost Crew had found something- no, someone. Many someone’s, and they were very important. Lasat. Prisoners in a labor-camp.
Kallus had helped the Spectres free Lasat before, but always from a distance. He would sneak into security rooms, open doors, take out guards, guide the others through escape routes, all the while taking care that he wasn’t seen. Afterwards he’d find his way back to the Glimmer and distract any TIE fighters while the Ghost snuck away with the prisoners. It’s not like he was allowed to know where they were going anyway. But this time had been different. There was a blockade around the planet the Lasat were being held on that only the Ghost could get through. The labor camp was the largest they’d ever attempted to breach. Security was much tighter and the control room was nearly impossible to get to. There’d be no time for him to get there before the rest of the crew was spotted. Kallus had to memorize the camp layout and guide everyone through in person.
It would be the first time he’d come face to face with a Lasat other than Zeb since Lasan and he was… scared. The whole flight through hyperspace Kallus could feel the icy grip of his sins crawling down his spine. He sat in the galley, staring at the camp blueprints and trying not to vomit. By the time the Ghost made it through the blockade and landed on the planet he’d managed to convince himself that none of the Lasat would recognize him. So long as he kept his head down and focused on getting everyone into the camp and back out safely, everything would be fine.
The moment he’d entered the prison Kallus felt strange. He heard something. A whisper, a buzzing in the back of his mind. Something was wrong but he didn’t know what. The further into the compound they got the louder the sound became. It almost sounded like a voice.
Chopper had just opened the main gate so the prisoners could make the last sprint across the landing pad towards Hera and the Ghost while Kallus and the rest of the crew kept the guards busy.
“Hey, traitor!”
Kallus whipped around, the voice he heard with his ears nearly drowned out by the one calling out in his head. In front of him was an imperial officer he vaguely recognized from his time on Thrawn’s ship. They hadn’t interacted much but the man had always seemed to dislike Kallus beyond the usual animosity between ISB agents and the rest of the Empire. The officer wasn’t important. What was important was that he had a bo-rifle in his hands. Kallus’ bo-rifle. And he heard it scream as the man clumsily ignited it.
Kallus’ body moved on its own. He closed the distance between him and the officer in one blink. His opponent raised the bo-rifle to block an incoming attack, but Kallus wasn’t aiming for him. The only thought in his mind was getting the weapon out of his hands. He wrenched the staff out of one hand, reached out and snapped the wrist of the other. The officer cried out in pain and kicked himself backwards, releasing the staff. Kallus felt it hum in his hands. He swung the bo-rifle, aiming for the officer’s neck with the bayonet blade attached to the side. He felt it connect at the same moment he heard the blaster he hadn’t noticed the officer pull out firing into his chest.
Kallus halted. Everything after that was black and he’d woken up here. It occurred to him for the first time that he might be dead.
“Not quite, but you’re close.”
Kallus’ eyes jerked up and standing in front of him was a Lasat. He recognized his face from one of the many that haunted his dreams. This was the Honor Guard he’d won the bo-rifle from.
Kallus opened and closed his mouth a few times before managing to get words out.
“It’s you.”
The Guard flicked his ears in amusement. “It’s me.”
Zeb had told him once that it was customary for a follower of Boosahn Keeraw to bow to whoever had given them their weapon. Kallus put a fist in his other hand in front of him and lowered his head. The Guard inclined his head in response. Kallus frowned in confusion.
“Are you a ghost? How are you here if I’m not dead as well?” He didn’t even know where ‘here’ was.
The Guard sat down and gestured for Kallus to do the same.
“I’m not a ghost. I’m not really even the Lasat you fought. I’m more… the bo-rifle’s memory of him.”
He gave Kallus a moment to process what he’d just heard before continuing.
“Right now you’re communing with the bo-rifle. It can’t speak, so it uses the forms of its past wielders to communicate with its current one.”
Kallus raised his eyebrows in surprise.
“I can’t be the current wielder.”
“Why not? You defeated me in single combat. You claimed the bo-rifle through Boosahn Keeraw.”
Kallus dropped his gaze to the ground. His reflection stared back from beneath him.
“There was no honor in invading your home.”
“True.” He flinched at the Guards bluntness.
“But the bo-rifle sensed the potential in you to become something better than you were. The Empire could not snuff out the light in you completely.” The Guard smiled slightly, like he knew something Kallus didn’t. “And you had a purpose yet to serve, Warrior.”
Kallus’ face pinched in confusion. Before he could ask what that meant the Guard made a dismissive gesture.
“An explanation for another time, perhaps. The bo-rifle called to you for a reason, aside from freeing it.”
All levity dropped from the Guard’s face.
“You have a choice to make.”
Kallus sat up straight and listened with bated breath.
“I said earlier you were close to death. You stand on the precipice between your world and the next. You are connected to the bo-rifle enough for it to tip the scales one way or the other. It can send you back or let you go.”
The Guards eyes softened.
“It has seen your life. It knows the pain you’ve endured. You’ve done enough good now to earn the peace death would bring you.”
“…And if I go back?”
The Guard was silent for a moment.
“You will face your sins. You will hurt and bleed again. You will meet your nightmares. You will stare the darkness of the abyss in the eye once more and I cannot promise you will survive.”
Kallus closed his eyes. He remembered watching his mother slowly die of a disease they couldn’t afford medicine for. He remembered starving in the Lower Levels of Coruscant. He remembered the Academy, how everyone looked at him like he was garbage that had crawled up from the sewer. He remembered Weiss and the ISB program and how they’d turned him into a monster his mother wouldn’t recognize. He remembered Onderon and how helpless he’d been. He remembered Lasan, standing in the ashes of the atrocity he’d been too blind to see he was helping commit. He remembered Lothal. Meeting a band of rebels. Chasing them through the stars. He remembered Bahryn and Zeb and a conversation that had changed everything. A spark igniting within him that had set flame to a rebel’s heart that had been growing for years under the surface. He remembered dragging himself out an escape pod. He remembered being shown kindness and compassion and forgiveness he didn’t deserve by people who would become the first family he’d have since he was nine years old. He remembered how he’d do anything to protect them and their dream.
The Guards green eyes stared back at him, waiting.
“It’s a hard choice.”
Kallus smiled.
“No. It isn’t.”
The Guard smiled back.
“Alexsandr Kallus, do you swear to use this bo-rifle with honor, to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and bring light to a dark galaxy?”
“I swear.”
They both stood. “Then it’s time for you to go.”
The world around them grew brighter and started to disappear.
“Wait!” Kallus cried as he felt himself start to slip away. “What’s your name?”
The Guard let out a gentle laugh.
“My name was Romai.”

Your goldilocks cipher stuff gives me an unreal amount of dopamine (maybe i just like bill a lot idk) do you have any fun tidbits and details about the au that wouldn’t be too spoilery?
Thank you!! Here's a bunch of random trivia:
The (English) name of Bill's language's written script is Plaintext. Like, y'know, plaintext:
In cryptography, plaintext usually means unencrypted information pending input into cryptographic algorithms, usually encryption algorithms. This usually refers to data that is transmitted or stored unencrypted.
Which is ironic, since Bill's the ONLY person to whom the text is unencrypted. But then, from his perspective, it's the only "unencrypted" text he ever actually sees—all the languages he uses in day-to-day life are foreign languages to him.
In the Bill Cipher AMA, somebody asks Bill what he thinks about all the fangirls he has, and Bill says they should all go to the Nevada desert and assemble a throne to wait for him. In fic, I've decided it'd be funny to give him a women-only cult in Nevada. The leader of the cult is named Mary and the underling most often referenced is Sue, because—and I say this with love and affection—if "fangirl who's put in a fic so she can meet her favorite tumblr sexyman" ISN'T a textbook Mary Sue, I don't know what is.
Bill really likes monster trucks. He's convinced himself that he'd be a TERRIFIC monster truck driver, because he can see the future, so obviously he'd know how to avoid any car crashes. He's probably wrong about this. It's a more physically taxing job than you'd think, and a human body is more easily taxed than he's used to.
Current favorite human food is nachos with sprinkles on top. Gotta be triangular nachos. If the chips are circular or rectangular it will legit depress him. Also plain old cheese is boring, give it some texture, it's gotta have peppers hot enough to kill a toddler.
Sometimes Bill talks to Waddles as if he's speaking to the Temporarily Genius Waddles and expects him to understand what Bill's saying.
If Bill's watching a show/movie and doesn't want to spoil the ending for himself he has to fight NOT to glance into the future to see what happens. Imagine if every time you read a comic book, all of the pages automatically separated and spread out across the table so you could see every page at once, and you had to keep resisting the urge to glance at the last page to see what happens. That's what trying not to glance forward is like for Bill.
Nobody's commented on this yet, so idk if anyone's caught it, but in chapter 2:
He carefully positioned himself directly in front of the trio, glancing down at the floor as if looking for the right mark to step on,
and in chapter 3:
Mabel considered his feet thoughtfully before spray painting an X where she estimated he’d been standing before.
“You got lucky—” he cast a dirty look at the X spray painted on the ground, “—but luck changes.”
In chapter 2 Bill saw the X on the floor in the future, and assumed he was going to leave it for himself so he'd know where he should stand for his big dramatic moment—which means he deliberately planted himself RIGHT on the mark where the twins were set up to tackle. (Even though he can see into the future, his time vision is pretty near-sighted.)
Bill NEARLY invaded the M Dimension mentioned in Journal 3—he was playing "muse" to a whole bunch of scientists and governmental types who were all collaborating, everybody liked him, nobody suspected anything, they were thrilled by the idea of opening up interdimensional travel to his totally-harmless-and-not-at-all-nightmarish realm so their muse could visit... the only reason he hasn't already conquered the M Dimension is because everything there, even the laws of physics, are based on the letter M, and for the life of him he couldn't find a way to adapt the portal blueprints to work there. The math's impossible.
Bill's the only member of the Henchmaniacs who's unable to leave the Nightmare Realm. (As in, physically can't leave. Legally, most of them are pretty trapped there for lack of another safe place to go; but like they could leave if they chose to.) Sometimes he sends his Henchmaniacs on errands for him to other dimensions; and sometimes they go on day trips outside the Nightmare Realm without him. When they leave he tends to sulk and insist he isn't sulking.
Nobody in the shack knows about Ford's embarrassing neck tattoo. (And it was REALLY hard keeping that secret on a boat.) Nobody, that is, except for Bill, who spent last summer stalking everyone in the shack and who can see through walls, seeing through a turtleneck is nothing. Someday he's gonna start casually humming All Star and strike terror into Ford's heart.
There's a handful of human languages Bill can't speak because the speakers cursed him to be unable to speak them. I don't know which languages yet, I'd probably need to do a lot of digging to find languages about which there's already "demons/monsters/etc can't speak/understand this language" folklore I can slap on him. But it's a joke I'm prepared to use if I find a language that fits.
Bill thinks it's weird that humans want their hands and hair to smell like food, but then don't even want to eat them. What's the point of strawberry-scented shampoo???

lore! lore! lore!
This thing bears way too many resemblances to both Obann, the Punished and Cognouza for it to be a coincidence. The mini even looks the same. And both of those are directly related to Tharizdun.
For anyone wondering, because I had to look this up -- Imogen has resistance to psychic damage from a 6th level aberrant mind sorcerer ability. It also gives her advantage on saving throws against charm and fear effects.
"I'm gonna cast....... blight." the entire top table immediately looked up at that. they know.
"It's trying to find a form, but can't." Semblances of the party's faces can be seen beneath the skin, like a head under fabric.
ARBY'S: WE READ THE MEATS
A close second to "Arby's: What's in the meats?"
Them not putting out this fire when Matt has given so many hints that they should is legit hurting my rogue-playing soul a little bit
The illusory wall follows the same rules as the doors in Aeor: it requires a certain level (and possibly school) of magic to open. A 3rd level enchantment opened it. Behind it is a little cubby with a leather satchel, and it isn't trapped.
Deanna has a staff of healing!
Holy shit, that wolf king mini is fucking amazing and terrifying and I love him
As Ludinus' tower burns, the Bells Hells flee into the city, then into the forest. They find a large abandoned nest, where they build a fire to camp for the night.
They open the satchel. Inside, it's "empty" -- but it's a bag of holding. Upon asking for "Ludinus' notes," FCG brings out a cluster of vellum and parchment, some sections of half-bound journals.
"Toy transfers out of Rexxentrum"?? Chetney??? Got a bag of holding from a "credible source" within the city?
And he turns the bag inside out. There are coins, gems, a staff, more papers, and half a piece of armor.
All the papers are blank. Using the same technique as before, plus an Investigation check of 22, Chetney can see that these papers have something written on them, but can't make anything out, let alone discern what language it is.
It seems like this satchel was either a rainy-day fund, or "something left behind when the owner left in a rush." The coins and gems together amount to a little less than 3000gp.
There's also a tiny piece of dark burgundy wood. "It's a dildo!" "NO!"
The armor looks like a harness of some kind, like a torso harness. (Matt walked right into that one.) It's mostly dark-stained leather, and it's almost a vest, but it has a brass-gold inlay on it and it looks like where some of that metal is, it continues into an "emerging, arisen portion, almost like a... it rises like a metallic volcano, like an open funnel, but there's an empty space there." They're not sure if it's the front or the back, but it seems like there's space for something to fit in -- a gem (though none of the gems in the bag fit it), a vial, a beacon.
With detect magic, the armor is faint, the burgundy wood is faint, the staff is very strong. The staff is a "staff of dark oddessey," which has 8 charges that can be used to cast a whole bunch of spells. It requires attunement by a spellcaster. It has teleport, which can be cast using 6 charges. It regains 1d4 charges each day at dawn, and when it's used, it deals 1d4 to the user for each charge expended.
All the papers have a script that Deanna can see and read. LORE TIME! LET'S GO!
"The first bath of notes seem to be revolving around experiments on divine magic. Attempts to distill the base nature of divinity as an energy that can be replicated or destroyed... you also see notes that have designs, sketches, almost engineered blueprints for that strange harness that you saw. This is not in elven -- the text here is specifically arcane glyphs, like it's instructions for an enchantment. There are some notes in elven that follow those initial blueprints that speak of a physical regiment of magical infusion. As you continue on, they note on a synthetic recreation of the powerful natural magics that sustain the venerable wardens of the wilds. Beyond that, there are addition notes on dryads and fey, different fey entities that have locations throughout Wildemount, with eight crossed off... notes about 'feeding the root.'"
A nat20 investigation check to follow Ludinus' shorthand logic. "These notes are definitely batched with this harness. They are the next stage past its design. These are the resources needed for it to function. The dryad and fey entities, the locations that have been crossed out, are probably powerful dryad or fey entities that have, in the past, been discovered and utilized to power whatever this harness was supposed to be... the way it's designed, everything seems to funnel inward, so you imagine whatever resources presented into that portion of the device is funneled into that portion of the device. The last bit of notes speak of expanding his 'restoration sources' into the fey realm." So Ludinus was feeding this harness with fey and dryad magic. Travis clarifies that the elven word for "root" here refers specifically to the root of a plant, not the root of a phenomenon. Keep in mind that this was all written over 300 years ago.
"Oh my god, this Gildamesh motherfucker is grabbin' Smurfs!"
One of the marks delineating a fey-ish fane is "deep in the northeastern part of the Flotket Alps, one is in the lake deep in the Rimeplains, three are in the Savalirwood (though it's referred to here as the Veluthil), one within the Ashkeeper Peaks, and one that exists on an island to the northwest, past the waters." oh I will be COMING BACK TO THIS, JUST YOU WAIT
Best that they can tell, the portion of this chestplate that extends outward has an almost diamond-shaped gap. This probably rules out a Luxon beacon, because each of its sides is a pentagram.
The next cluster of notes is "about Ruidus, the red moon. Studying its curious superstition and religious scripture imploring its curse over Exandrian fanes and magical currents... he makes a lot of assumptions that the great temples fear this moon, and he wishes to know why. He theorizes that the gods continue to push to not even question or look in its direction, and you can see where this study is an obsession... for all the great shadows and villains that have been written about through the scriptures of history, there have been deep understandings to inform the populace of faith that what exists in evil should be understood so it can be avoided. But this is the one thing that exists int he skies of Exandira that the gods just say, 'look away.' That has been something on his mind since Moalesmyr. He notes the odd flares, odd notes mentioning the historical Ruidisborn. He quietly curses that he was not born under, wishing for the gods' fate. He hopes to employ a communion ritual timed under a flare to understand and decipher it. He talks about forgotten gods, about divine unravelling, of an ancient primordial that wasn't sundered after the Founding, all these theories of the red moon trying to ascertain its nature. Another entry complains of the Emerald Cross priests undermining his research, but he still managed to contact something, like reaching into an alien dream. He can't quite reach it yet -- it exists on the peripheries, and needs something stronger to break through."
The third and final batch of notes is "on the slowly expanding chaotic nature of the arcane crystals that form the power well beneath Molaesmyr. It notes of Aramond, who theorized that the well was a gift from the Archeart that was lost in the Calamity and rediscovered in the founding of Molaesmyr. Others believed it to be of Arcanum descent, fallen from one of the floating cities... harnessing this long-buried power source interests Ludinus' endeavor. In his final notes, he theorizes that if this crystal well is focused through his design without them knowing, while Ruidus is above during the solstice, he hopes a channel of consciousness could be opened, and that which is calling his attention to the red moon could be contacted."
Laura connected the dots! Maybe this "well" was a collection of Luxon beacons, or a singular one that was somehow elevated -- whether by unleashing or by malfunction -- beyond the power we've seen so far, or one that was infused with the divine magic of the Archeart, or any number of other things.
End of lore dump
Chetney on Rexxentrum: "there's a king, but we know who's really in charge."
The party contemplates who they should take this information to. The king and queen of Uthodurn, the king of the Dwendalian Empire, the Vellum Steeple, Vasselheim, Ivodel...
And Imogen suggests the Cobalt Soul. (please. i am begging. also, Fearne and Imogen being absolutely enamored and turned on by Beau's abs and ass is absolutely peak)
Goddamn, I thought I would never see the day-- SAM being the voice of reason, and TRAVIS being the lying voice of chaos?? I mean, at least Fjord had some kind of logic to his voice of "fuck it we ball," but Chetney's straight-up lying!
Hey, there we go! Religion check on "emerald cross priests." FCG recognizes that some of the symbology of the Archeart leans on cross designs and verdant colors, so the "Emerald Cross Priests" may have been a faction of their worship. This tracks, since Molaesmyr itself was built on the belief that its location was protected and preserved from the 100-year fire by Corellon themself.
They decide to sleep in the abandon nest instead of teleporting, and Imogen and FCG are set to dive into Frida's mind using a dual detect thoughts.
oh my god Christian had matching sweaters made. he gets one in FCG's colors and gives Sam one in Frida's colors. my heart can't take this. gift giving as a love language is so special to me.
Into Frida's thoughts! (Deanna cries in Chetney's arms.)
First, it's a familiar space for FCG, but for Imogen, it feels like a waiting room. It's different, organized, segmented, separate -- unlike organic minds. Even FCG's mind leans more into the chaotic space of organic brains, while Frida's has a clarity.
The three of them come to rest in a room, and FCG and Imogen see Frida as a mist, standing before a doorway waiting to be opened. Through it, it's like being pulled down a lazy river. It's dreamscape, comfortable -- "a trek through a consciousness where you pick up memories. A waking moment, a hooded figure with a metallic mask rousing them from a dark, closed space. (Imogen recognizes them as D.) Struggle, survival in a harsh wilderness, wandering through unfamiliar streets and fear in the eyes of people as the consciousness of Frida steps, seeking connection but being fled from. You see children, playing, and that protective energy swelling, and that fear fades. You see the laughter and smile on Deanna's face over a cooking fire, the polishing of armor. A smattering of memories, but much like FCG's -- a fresh existence. It's like peering into the memory of a child, though there is a more extended, sourceless confidence and maturity."
Frida focuses on the names that he heard in the tower -- Laerryn, Vatora, Vishtaron, the child that FCG saw -- and (with a straight d20 roll of 5) Frida gets lost in the current. Memories begin to bleed into images of the child from before. "You have images that completely envelop the horizon for just a moment, of warfare. Of weapons, of people being cut down, then back to the river. [Frida] has had these dreams, rarely -- but it couldn't have been you, right?"
When Frida looks down, they see the river of energy that pulls them through the memories, and it obscures the lower part of their body. But they see their spiritual self, a bipedal entity of energy.
FCG and Imogen try to push deeper into Frida's memories.
NAT 20 FROM LAURA, and Matt makes a roll with a glance at Frida. They feel a pain in their mind, like a headache even though they've never had one -- the pain builds, and the others see the image of Frida fold and emit white light.
"That flash of warfare seems to emerge once again. It's less a battlefield -- stone hallways, bodies on the ground. Somebody rushes out of a room, and you watch as they fall to the ground. Standing before them is the spiritual form of Frida. A warrior, cutting through enemies in some sort of a structure. A very beautiful, unrecognizable structure... [Frida pushes forward, not knowing who's a friend, who's an enemy.] Some have brown and gold robes with gentle leather chestplates or armor. Some are preparing to cast spells before a blade catches their throat. A soldier runs up with a spear and shield toward Frida, who takes a hit before grabbing the spear and breaking the soldier's neck before pushing forward... [for Frida], it's an odd experience, like you're riding another person's experience. [Frida feels this is right. They know an objective when they see one. They keep going. They roll a d20, for a 10.] The details are fuzzy, but the people around you -- you begin to realize, it's not you pushing into a stronghold, you're defending. But the people you're fighting at the sides of and the people you're fighting against aren't dressed all that differently, and you feel a sadness at what must be done. You are not fighting an enemy from outside -- you are fighting an enemy from within."
Behind Frida, they see what they're defending: a beautiful structure, long halls, tall arched sealings with pipes or metallic tubes. The floors and walls are metallic, polished. Very much like the description of the A2 crash site, with the metal walls and "plastic" tubes. Frida is defending whatever's behind them, and they turn back toward it. Others go past them -- "what are you doing? Where are you going?" The hallway goes on, and on, and on as individuals walk past. The hall widens, and they see a central, massive chamber where "there is a contraption of such immensity, you've never considered or seen something on this scale. All manner of glowing crystalline devices and whirring mechanical devices, funnels and tubes and glass domes, sparks and dozens upon dozens of architects and engineers and magical practitioners all focused in this space. A voice shouts in Aeorian, 'protect the factorum!'"
The room carries a buzz, a hum that grows to a growl. "An engine of such immensity within this space that the chamber itself, the ground beneath you, vibrates and shakes. Stones and fallen instruments just move and cascade across the ground by the immensity of what is growing. The crystals are alighting. The space itself is preparing for something incredible. Then, it's just white." Everyone takes 8 points of psychic damage (no save, no roll to hit, no nothing) as they are shunted out of the vision.
Chetney puts the dots together, between the malleus factorum and the malleus keys. In Aeor, Frida was defending it from assault. Frida remembers one thing: "when you were discovered by D, you were ruined... he didn't just resuscitate you, he repaired you, brought you back from the brink of annihilation and set you free."
Frida was drawn to Aeor, and Deanna implies that that's why they went to Eiselcross.
Imogen recognizes some similarities between the energy signature, the structure, the vibrations between the malleus factorum and the malleus key -- but the key in Marquet was far smaller, far less powerful, far less immense.
Chetney recognizes that the crystals in the malleus factorum are distinctly different than the arcane batteries on the malleus key.
Facets of the clothing was semi-recognizable to FCG, but nothing about the location or the project rings a bell. Travis and Aabria suggest that FCG was in Avalir, not Aeor, hence why they recognize the clothing but not the location.
"Xhorhassian"? Deanna, where the fuck did that come from??
Deanna and Frida were in Eiselcross because Frida felt drawn to Aeor's central ruins, like Imogen felt drawn to Ruidus.
Frida feels a twinge of memory at the back of their head at the names Laerryn, Vishtaron, and Vatora, but they don't know why. But they know they were protecting the creator hammer -- whether it was because they believed in the anti-god sentiment, believed wholeheartedly in Aeor itself, or were going along with their orders.
(Meta note: Aabria says she "saw a room full of people doing what one person did" in relation to Laerryn.)
Chetney gives Frida a little wooden robot! It moves and everything. "A pillar of protection and I feel a connection to you, because you protect children and I bring joy to children with these [toys]." Fearne tries to comfort them too -- "you were being commanded then, but now, you're free to do what you want." The cast makes the connection between "Frida" and "free to."
I'm honestly loving the suggestion that Morri and Ludinus are exes, and that's part of why the Nightmare King hates him so much.
"But wherever we go... what about you two?" FCG.... honey.......
Deanna feels like Frida is moving on, and she's afraid of being left behind again. They have FCG now, and all of them have a mission, and maybe she should go back to Uthodurn -- no. Chetney's with her. They would've been swiss cheese, would've been ground meat without her. "I just don't want anything to happen to you." "I... made something for you, too." It's a little cup, like the ones they used to drink out of on the Menagerie Coast.
"Just-- a real quick question-- is the werewolf thing only for fighting?" "Y'know... there's... only one way to find out." "(full of sarcasm and irony) Help. Chetney has gone feral. Oh no. Anyone. Preferably Fearne, if you're into that. Help. The safe word is parmesan." And Chetney, Deanna, and Fearne run off into the woods.
Oh, how far Travis has come. This is character development. and it's canon now, fuckers!!
Now, they need to find out where to teleport. Uthodurn, Rexxentrum, Jrusar, Whitestone, Bassuras, Zephrah -- they could go anywhere. But they need to find out where the other group would think of to meet up.
FCG casts commune. And Matt does make an interesting point -- "should we go here" is different than "should we go here to accomplish this task."
As they cast the spell, they feel their consciousness rise "to a space within all horizons, at a crossroads, paths spreading out from you in all directions that converge here. There's a sign post, and it's blank. On the sides your vision, you see strands of hair, and you turn, and you see once more a feminine form upon the same horizon. She looks two inches tall, two miles tall, you can't tell -- it's strange. But she's present. [Hi. First of all, thank you, for all your guidance and for sending me Frida. We're trying to find our other friends, and we're wondering if we go to Jrusar, if we would have a chance to find them there at some point.] While previously, there was an inference of an answer, this time you hear a voice on the wind. 'Yes.' [Are they alive, Changebringer? Are they okay?] 'Yes.' [Even if I never know about my past, even if I never find out who made me or why I'm here, will I know Frida for a long time?] The wind picks up, and blows past.. the answer challenging to write, when the future has not been... In an immediate rush, this towering woman appears before you, her dark skin, her light brown hair that entangles around you. Her presence is bold, terirfying in proximity, her eyes these golden, open spaces, an intensity about her presentation as she looks upon you. 'A terrible fate looms for all of Exandria. An alien malice menaces the skies of the Marquesian sands. If you indeed wish to show your faith, to walk my endless paths beyond, then rise to our call. The winds of change blow cold against us all, yet hope remains unmoving in you. Our grace guides those who carry our banner. Hold it high, and traverse the path that I alight with purpose and fated destination. Do not turn from this road, for only shadow and solitude awaits beyond.' The light on the horizon grows cold, she grows more immense, you feel even more insignificant. 'The red end stirs in its slumber. Do not let it wake.' And she looks over her shoulder, and you see the distant gleam of the red moon, before--"
At the same time, the rest of the party watches as a sudden, almost sleepiness comes over Deanna. "Deanna, you sit for a second, before suddenly, this bright light fills your consciousness, the immensity of a star burning before you, something you've not experience at this proximity in some time, and comes with it a strength and a frustration long-felt. You try your best to avert your gaze, but the source of this light burns your retinas, and there you see before you the Dawnfather, encompassing the sky, nothing but his light. 'Mortal arrogance makes union with a forbidden scourge. The ruddy moon beckons over the skies of Marquet. Child, reborn of my grace and my will, I command you: strike out against those who would snuff our light. The gifts I grant you are the sword and shield against the darkness. Forsake these gifts, ignore our charge, and be abandoned... faith needs not logic, nor truth, but unerring conviction... the red end stirs in its slumber. Do not let it wake.'"
There is a warmth to the coin in FCG's hand, and it looks shinier. They identify it as a "coin of the Changebringer," and it... does a lot of things, according to Sam. (I bet it's an improved amulet of the devout +1, which by default gives them an extra use of channel divinity per day.)
Deanna gives Chetney her ring of temporal salvation. This is a ring that, when the wearer would die, instead they're healed for 3d6 hit points.
She also identifies the little piece of wood as a tuning fork for the planeshift spell, which is tuned to the fey realm.
Chetney took orders directly from the Cerberus Assembly. He made enchanted furniture. Allegedly. (This is a reference to C2E48/49, if anyone doesn't know.) Also, "RTA" may or may not stand for "Rexxentrum Toy Authority." Most of them were fine -- Ludinus was an ass, and Traversky was his best customer. This means that Chetney likely knows Delilah Briarwood by name, and knows her...... toy preferences.
Using the rod, they all teleport to Xhadana's house.

This is the year of embodied enlightenment.
The year we shed the density of the past, make space in our body so we can embody our whole authentic Soul-Self. The year where your spirituality isn’t a label you use to describe yourself. It’s you coming into the deepest understanding, that this was the path of Spirit deepening its understanding of itself. This is the year that we walk with the ancient wisdom, that will help heal and create ripples of change for the future generations we birth.
This is the year we fully embrace our co-creator roles. No more hiding in isolation, no more wasting our precious time deep asleep in the social media trance. No more falling for the false narrative, losing ourselves to pointless trends, no more wasting our life force through leaky sexual energy and weak boundaries.
It’s the year we truly get in touch with ourselves, our vision.. our deep rooted desires and needs, and put in the work to align our dreams with the divine plan written in our Soul’s blueprint.
When you clear yourself of the distortions and density of lower energy and the memories of those past experiences — you make space within your heart for your Soul to speak, you’re grounded in your body so you can feel the signals of your intuition guiding your steps.
You are the path, you are the guide, and you are the destination. You’ve always been home, even when you felt like you were lost. The thing is.. you were looking for something outside of you to lead.. to guide you. You had to go down paths that made you distrust outside guidance, so you would have a reason to turn within, and ask yourself where it is you are deeply wanting to get to.
Only you know what you want to do with this life, with your time.. how you want to show up within your connections, for others.. and how you want to show up for yourself.
This is the year.. you keep telling yourself. But every year has brought you deeper into the embodiment of your whole authentic self. This is the year you finally show up into the world wearing your true face, without fear of rejecting and abandoning your own divine self.

- ayane's comphet
- ryu being a great example of how to write an aloof character with trauma while not overly relying on it
- how ayane's crush on pin was handled

Insecurity
Tumblr media
Pairings: Usopp x gn! Reader
Genre: Angst to fluff
Synopsis: Usopp insecurity struck again, so you comforted him
The crescent moon was beautiful, perfect for a couple's night. But to your surprise, Usopp was not here, unlike usual. He was nowhere to be found, probably making his new weapon again. You sighed in disappointment, then tried to find him.
"Y/n-san! Not sleeping yet?" Brook said kindly, then seeing the worry on your face. "Y/n-san, are you looking for something?"
"Yeah, do you know where Usopp is?" You asked with the confusion written on your face. "I haven't seen him all day!"
"Is that so? Maybe he is working on a new invention, or so".
"Oh yeah, he said that he had a new idea in his mind! Thanks, Brook!"
"Yohoho! No problem, y/n-san!"
You then headed to his workshop, opening the door with caution. There were blueprints scattered everywhere, with it being the most unrealistic thing possible that no one would have imagined. But then, you saw Usopp in the corner. Sketching and sketching, like ignoring you there.
"Usopp—? Are you okay?" You sounded worried. "I haven't seen you all day!"
"Oh, y/n!" He said with excitement seeing you after a long day. "Sorry, I was too busy sketching".
"You haven't eaten, are you okay?"
"I eat, y/n! The great mighty Usopp just ate a bit later than others!"
Usopp then showed you his blueprints, telling the tales of how he got the idea, what it works for, and so on. But unlike others, you quickly understood how he really felt. He was just afraid to show it.
"Usopp, can I tell you something?" You grabbed his shoulders, pulling them towards you. "Are you okay? It's not your usual self right now".
"Oi, oi!" Usopp gasped as you pulled him towards the front of your body. "I'm fine, nothing happened!"
"Hey, are you just gonna brush off the fact that you literally did not eat lunch with me?"
"Well yes, but—"
"Usopp, you can tell me anything. Remember, I'm your partner. It's okay to let out those feelings, okay?"
Usopp's body was trembling as he didn't want you to worry about him. He didn't realize that you actually care for him, deeply as a partner. He didn't have experience with partners, so he did not expect this to happen between them.
"Y/n, have you ever felt like you're not needed?" He sighed, moved by your actions. "Like you know that I'm only a sharpshooter? I'm not that needed in a pirate ship, I say".
"You're insecure?" You saw the eyes that spark the deep secret of him, just letting it out to you. "You are needed Usopp, you are a must".
"But how? I'm only for targets faraway, nothing else!"
"Nothing else, you say? Look, your being shines in the hearts of every crewmate".
"By how, y/n?"
You sighed, then continued the conversation between you two.
"You know how you were able to lie?" You uttered. "The lies of your stories, spark the hearts of Luffy and Chopper, y'know?"
"But how about the others?" He denied. How could he realize that if the others were more important than him, he objected. "They have more important roles than me, right?"
"You know, Zoro tried lying once and it didn't work as he wasn't the type who likes to lie".
"Then what's the importance of that?"
"You didn't realize? You fooled the Tontattas of Dressrosa to follow you like a follower. What more proof could I provide you?"
Usopp then thought for a second. He was important after all, unlike what he thought this whole time. His lies, his charisma, his long nosed self was one of the examples of him actually being different from others.
"And you stole my heart, too" You added with Usopp suddenly turning away with bright pink cheeks . "The great boyfriend of all time".
"That was a smooth one there!" He complimented you with a smile blooming. "Thanks for that, y/n!"
You quickly take this chance to 'eat' him. You then shower the easily flustered long nose boy with kisses all over his face. His face was slowly and surely turning red.
"Don't forget to sleep", you joked. "I wouldn't be happy if you didn't".
"Of course, y/n!" Usopp smiles to the heart. "Oh yeah, my greatest ever partner!"
You closed the door, leaving behind a flustered boy who would not forget this moment in his life. Will never forget this day, ever.

Pleasantries
Tw: SFW, can be read as gender neutral tho written with a fem reader in mind, fluff.
Pairing: Wanderer x Reader
Tumblr media
--------------------------------------------------
"There's no need to exchange pleasantries. It's rather pathetic to force a conversation, just to occupy silence."
"Sure buddy," you say with an eye roll "so you've said a million times already."
The two of you have set up a small camp near the outskirts of Sumeru City, taking a rest after a long afternoon of clearing the fatui infested routes. You were sitting across from each other with a small camp fire between you.
"And yet idiots like you keep asking me pointless questions." He replies haughtily.
"It's what friends do dude, you chat together about stuff you like, or... " You smile mischievously. "Would you rather when it's my turn to cook, I make you a pile of extra sweet tricolored dango? Or what if, say, I hand them over to you as a gift in front of Nahida?" He glares. "Something tells me she won't just let you dump them somewhere." You say smugly.
"...I'd like to see you try."
"I'm just saying, that would definitely make you annoyed right? So you like, have to tell me your likes and dislikes." You pull out a notebook and pen from seemingly nowhere and prepare yourself to write; "Go on then don't be shy," you smile cheekily, "tell me everything."
He sighs. "...Fine, just to shut you up." He looks up towards the night sky. "I loathe overly sweet things, even more so if they stick to my teeth. As for favorites... I guess in that regard, the simpler the better."
The wanderer watches as you scribble into your notebook, it's cover turned to him so he can't actually see the contents of the page. "I see, and what drinks do you enjoy?" You continue.
"Something with a rather bitter flavor to it would suit me well. Any sugary drinks are certainly out of the question."
You hum. "Makes sense." You say distractedly, then flip the notebook and show him you had not, in fact, been writing anything he told you. Instead there were poorly drawn stick figures of the both of you holding hands and smiling. "Say, do you think I have a future in the art business?"
"Well, that's just downright awful." He scoffs. "No one would hire you. You lack understanding of basic human anatomy; the arms are too short, the torso too thin, the face is almost beyond salvation, and the hair... I'm not even sure it's supposed to be hair. Do better."
You fall out of your seat cackling, your whole body shaking. "Dang dude you're brutal!" It takes effort for you to subdue your laughs. You stand, but instead of returning to your previous seat you go sit on the log next to him, still giggling to yourself.
"Well, I try. You asked for my opinion, you should expect nothing less than honesty."
" 'K, 'k. So, what about you? Can you draw?" You sit next to him, but angle your body to face his.
"I've never been very good at it, to be honest. The only things I can draw are maps and blueprints. I've even used to have a rather elaborate sketchbook full of those."
"Oh?" You say, grabbing your notebook-now-revealed-sketchbook again, flipping it to a new page. "Were those from your fatui days? When you were planning... Fatui things?"
"You could say that. My drawings of my personal projects in particular were highly confidential. I only showed them to my closest confidants."
"I'm surprised you even had confidants, with that nasty temper you had back then." You pick up your pen and go back to your scribbling.
He crosses his arms "You're really testing my patience here."
"What?" You respond teasingly, eyes focused on your work in the sketchbook. "You're the one that likes honesty so much!" You challenge.
"Fair enough. Then I'll be upfront with you: your drawing skills suck. They're terrible. If you think there's talent in that hand of yours, you're lying to yourself."
"Mhm..." You respond distractedly, your sketchbook turned away from him like before.
"Are you even listening to me?" In a flash, he's reaching for the sketchbook to see whatever it is you're-
You slap his hand away, albeit not harshly. "You'll see when I'm done ."
"...Fine. Keep your damn secret. What could that page possibly be for? You still think you can be an artist, don't you?"
You look up at him sharply, and keep eye contact for a long moment, long enough he worries he'd actually managed to offend you, but then you go right back to the sketchbook, ignoring him once more.
"...You really are the most annoying person I've ever met." He grumbles.
That brings a chuckle out of you. "Funny I could say the same about you," you respond easily, then glance up at him with a soft smile "but you know, you're also my favorite person to hangout with.
"...Did you just make a romantic implication?"
"Maybe I did and maybe I didn't." You reply casually, going back to your work.
He raises a brow. "Hmm. Do you happen to have feelings for me by any chance?"
"Is that your attempt to get a confession? Or maybe..." You glance up at him with a smirk, "Fishing for compliments, wanderer?"
His face flushes a soft purple. Pretty you think. "That was absolutely not what I was doing, I was simply... uh..."
You giggle. "Either way," you say, rising from your seat and carefully tearing out the page you'd been working on, then handing it over, revealing a sketched portrait of himself, signed : What if I do like you? -(y/n). You take a step back, awaiting his reaction, feeling uncharacteristically nervous.
"What... He stares at the drawing in awe for a few moments ...How did you manage to capture my likeness this fast? This is almost creepy." He adds the last comment almost out of habit, clearly not meaning it one bit.
"Then I guess I should spend less time with you? That is the only reason I was able to draw you this fast... Maybe we should hangout less, since you find it so unsettling." You say with mock offense.
"No, that's not... Don't leave. And didn't you promise not to, anyways?"
He stands and takes a few steps closer to you and looks at the drawing again. "My hat... the sleeves... that's all correct. Are you, by chance, a professional artist in disguise?"
"Just a hobby," you answer, "though don't think I was born with special talent or anything, it took lots of practice."
"I..." He lightly runs a finger on the lines, careful not to smudge them, not that the material he's made out of can really do that. "It's beautiful. I could never replicate your passion to the craft, even if I spent my entire existence practicing. He looks towards you. "It's an honor to be the subject of your drawing. I'll keep it, as a keepsake."
That's unfair you think, flushing. "I'm glad you like it but..." You point at the signature, your blush deepening. "You're not gonna answer that? It's rude to keep a lady waiting."
"I was expecting you to confess directly if you did have feelings for me, this shy side of yours is quite unusual." He chuckles. "I've always found that directness of yours charming, to be honest. My feelings for you... are complex, but if I know one thing about you, it's that you always manage to surprise me." A smirk spreads across his features."
"...So what's your answer?" You ask carefully.
"I'm a bit surprised myself. I've never felt so... connected to someone. If you like me, even as just a friend, then my feelings for you will only increase. I enjoy spending time with you." He takes a long breath. "And... I think I've started liking you... romantically."
You sigh in relief, and start shifting your weight from leg to leg oh archons that was nerve-racking.
"I thought you liked being straightforward. You've been teasing me this entire time, why be nervous all of a sudden?" He says with a smirk.
You glared at his teasing, though without any real heat behind it, you shove him lightly on the arm "Shut up." You mumble.
He chuckles. "You really are adorable, you know that?"
You mock pout and play along. "I'm not adorable!" You speak in the most cutesy tone you can muster. "I am a beast to be reckoned with," You raise your pitch further, "a monster of nature!"
He bursts out laughing. "You couldn't scare a butterfly."
You halt, cutesy voice already gone and a dangerous glimmer in your eyes, you take one step forward towards him, your eyes not leaving his "Funny, you said I had horrible drawing skills yet look how that turned out." You take another step, and with your mouth now next to his ear you whisper darkly. "Do you want to bet?"
The hairs on the back of his neck stood up, his heart started racing as he took a step away from you. "...Maybe I shouldn't have said that."
You burst out laughing. "Oh my gosh your face!" You say, happy tears welling up at the corner of your eyes. "I got you good! Pffffft-"
"...You suck."
You laugh harder, letting yourself slide down to the floor like before. "S-sorry, but hey! You're the one who underestimated me first!" You say gasping for air.
"You nearly gave me the equivalent of a heart attack, you little..." He sighs, his expression serious. "...So I suppose this means you like me too?"
"Your laughs die down, and you start regaining your breath, you raise your hand cheekily, motioning for him to help you up "What do you think?"
"...I think you can help yourself." He crosses his arms and looks away from you.
"Oh come on don't be like that!" You say grinning. "Just help me up and I'll give you your answer."
"...Fine." He walks towards you, grabbing your hand as he asks "So what's the verdict?"
Just as he starts pulling however, you bring him down on the ground next to you, and just before he has a chance to protest, you wrap your arms around his neck bringing your faces so close with just a few inches between you.
"...Woah, easy now. You really do have a flare for the dramatic."
He lets out a sigh in defeat, in another life, the empty cavity of his heart would have been thumping at the contact.
"But doesn't it make everything so interesting?" You say, slowly inching closer, your eyes glancing between his eyes and lips.
The Wanderer can barely manage a response, "...Yes. Yes, I suppose it does."
And then, you close the distance between your lips, his eyelids falling shut.
The moment your mouths meet, a feeling of pure euphoria washes over you. You can't help but close your eyes, sinking deeper into the kiss. He pulls you closer and you gladly let him, wanting to experience every possible sensation you could in this moment, your mouths locked together. Your heart races, pumping blood and joy through your body, making you feel like it would burst at any second.
After a long moment, you pull away slowly, already mourning the loss of contact but needing to catch your breath. "Well that was... Nice." You giggle at your own underwhelming response, fully aware the kiss was much more than nice.
"...Nice?" He repeats, looking down at you, his face a bright purple color as he tries to compose himself. "Is that all you have to say?"
"I'm just teasing, you're an annoyingly good kisser Wanderer." This better not raise his ego further.
He tries to act cool and unfazed, but it's useless. "R-really? Are you sure about that? I mean, it was nice, but... it was... Uh."
"Yes I'm sure." You say firmly, rising, and pulling him up with you. "It was perfect."
His eyes narrow as if he didn't quite believe you.
"Yes. It was." You insist , then, back to your usual teasing you say: "Or do you want more compliments oh great and wise Wanderer?"
He groans, covering his face with his hands. "You're going to milk every moment of this, won't you?!"
"But of course! Can you really call yourself my boyfriend if you weren't subjected to my teasing in your every waking moment?"
"Boyfriend?" He looks back up, his expression slightly confused, then "Right... Yes. That's... Gonna take some getting used to."
You sigh dreamily at his cute expression, then throw your arms around him in a hug and sqweel at his cuteness.
He remains still for a few moments, then starts gently stroking your head.
But at some point, you stop and pull away slightly, you don't let go of him however. "Wait! Would Nahida approve of me?"
You manage to catch him off-guard, not expecting you to break the embrace so quickly. "You want her to give us her blessings? Is that what this is about? I think, all things considered, she'd be more than happy to learn that I found someone who appreciates me as much as you do."
"Still, she's basically your mom!" You say, starting to drag him towards the Sanctuary of Surasthana as he squirmed in your hold. "We should pay her a visit. Oh! Maybe we can grab her a gift at the bazaar first!"
He sighs, then stops resisting, and lets you pull him along, knowing there's not a whole lot he can do to stop you. "You really want to involve her in this?" He sighs again."Very well. Let us go."

Let's keep this going throughout the summer, so if you're interested in participating in the Be Kind Rewind, message me. The more, the merrier!
If you want to know when a new Rewind drops, join the tag list, and check out previous Rewinds!
fics below the cut (listed in alphabetical order by title)
and even when we're wrong in every way, we come out on the other side okay, bradley bradshaw, @gretagerwigsmuse i probably don't have anything to say about this series that hasn't already been said, but bradley and smart aleck are the blueprint, and i love the way jordan has continued to expand this universe.
bad habit, jake seresin, @seasonsbloom i'm probably going to be a broken record this entire post of i love this fic, i love it so much, but really, i love bad habit, i love bad habit so much. bad habit is one of the first jake fics i ever read and definitely the first jake series that i ever read, so i will always love her so much.
i will wait right here, bradley bradshaw, @lewmagoo i am such a sucker for a good hurt-comfort fic, and i will wait right here is the ultimate hurt-comfort fic.
i would walk 10,000 miles to you, jake seresin, @roleycoleyreccenter as i said in my original reblog, jake showing up at his love interest’s door drunk is something that can be so personal. i really do love this fic, it's so damn cute.
heat, bradley bradshaw, @clints-lucky-arrow i read this right after i saw top gun: maverick for the first, and i have never been the same since.
landslide, bradley bradshaw, @roosterbruiser i devoured this on AO3 months and months ago in like a midnight haze, unable to put it down, and it's still one of my favorite fics that millie's ever written. It's definitely on the heavier side (and long), but it's so good and so healing.
out of the blue, clear sky, jake seresin, @theharddeck i am such a sana stan so i had a hard time choosing between this and california coast in your green eyes, which i also love a whole lot. out of the blue pulled ahead because soft jake is the absolute softest in this fic. it's like a warm hug – and in the last chapter, a steaming warm hug.
steady, bradley bradshaw, @callsignvalley i re-read this like once a month, i'm so serious. it's just so good, and i love how bradley and cali (i don't know if the reader has a nickname, but cali to me) heal together.

baby, i'm high octane, jake seresin somehow, i am still writing this fic like... over a year later, but baby, i'm high octane was the first tgm fic that i ever wrote and ever posted. and i am so proud of it, even if i've been working on it for a million years!
delicate, bob floyd probably one of my angstiest (but also softest) fics. i wrote this for @roosterforme's incredible love is in the air challenge in february (a huge shoutout to emily, whose work is featured on many rewind lists), and i still think about it all the time.

Sorry I don’t know if you got asked this or not, bug I gotta know. How do you feel about the constant “power upgrades” in the show? For example, Klaus was supposed to be the most dangerous vampire in the world then he gets replaced by Lucian and Marcel. Or Bonnie who literally had soooo much power that constantly got taken away or she was upstaged(Davina,Dahlia,Freya, etc). I’m vet interested to see how others feel about this
Hey, Anon. That is a wonderful question. I kinda went a little overboard.😂💀
The Originals
I personally think the power upgrades of Lucien and Marcel are very well written. But that’s what I feel.
I only think this because, Lucien wanted to kill the Mikaelsons out of pettiness, he had the ancestors on his side for some reason and he made it known that he didn’t like them when the time came.
He was a villain through and through.
Now Marcel only took the upgrade serum because he couldn’t trust the Mikaelsons anymore. Especially after Davina's death where they promised to help only to kill her officially and he was helpless to do anything.
He felt something would happen, but I don’t think he expected Elijah to rip out his heart.
Klaus can still be the most dangerous vampire in the world, but that doesn’t mean change won’t happen.
Example: Hope suddenly and very randomly becoming the most powerful being in the world. P.S her being a witch is so random and stupid to me. I can understand her being a vampire and wolf hybrid like Klaus and Hayley, but a witch. gtfoh.
Bonnie
Bonnie Bennett is the last surviving Bennett witch, the blueprints for magic in the TVDU.
Now I can sorta understand that when you leave Mystic Falls, there are surely bound to be a ton of other strong witches in the world.
Take Gloria (Season 3) for instance or Bree from (1x11). They are witches from their respective cities. They are powerful witches.
Yet when The Originals started, The witches there couldn’t do anything. Why, because of Davina. She senses when they did Ancestral magic.
Now apparently, when you die in TO and you’re a witch, you have to be consecrated to get into the ancestral well, but you still have magic to rely upon.
Example: Davina in 3x21
Yet when Bonnie dies constantly, she is stripped of her magic completely.
Now with Freya, I’ll say that her being a powerful witch is an overstatement. Strong yes, powerful no. We didn’t even know she was a witch until she showed it. Even with her being 1000 years old, she did pretty basic spells. (To me)
Qetsiyah is over 2000 years old and she created Immortality, a cure for it and the Other Side.
Freya and Dahlia were always channeling each others power in season 2. But in season 3 Freya had realistically gotten a whole lot weaker, yet still she is perceived as more powerful than Bonnie.
Davina is a Harvest Witch. When people compare her and Bonnie, they always say “Davina had the power of all the ancestors.” When in fact she did not. She had the power of the 3 dead girls, plus her own going through her. Stated in 1x17 at 2:06
Once again, while Davina is strong, she is not Powerful. She brought Kol back using The Strix coven’s spell.
Bonnie brought people back on raw power, granted the first time she really brought someone back from the dead she had to beg. 2x22
Bonnie is connected in nearly every storyline throughout the TVDU.
Her being a witch
A Bennett Witch
She’s a psychic
Qetsiyah created the Immortality Spell, Other Side and a cure for Immortality
She can use Spirit Magic, Dark Magic and Expression.
She nearly Killed Klaus
She is needed for Esther to kill the Mikaelsons
Put Klaus in Tyler’s body, saving everyone
Sadly got Manipulated into doing Expression
She was dead multiple times.
She survived multiple times
Her blood is needed to open Prison Worlds. (TVD + LGCS)
She stopped hellfire. Unconsciously summoning the Bennett's.
Remember people, Expression is magic of your will. You can do what you want, just don’t let it consume you.
Bonnie is always needed for something, and that is both bad and good. It’s bad because it causes her “friends” to be dependent on her. Good because it shows how resilient and powerful she is.
Really the only reason the other witches are “More Powerful” than Bonnie is racism.
We all know Julie hated Kat thus that hate turned into micro aggressions against Bonnie as a character of color in the show.

Favorite ship
favorite ship? favorite SHIP?
titanic for sure i had a huge fixation on it as a child i even came up w a roller coaster idea for it although ive been told it would be distasteful to execute
but actually sry anon im going to have to use this as an excuse to talk about every single one of my favorite ships and why i love them bc ive had a notes list going for a while…
in really no particular order:
wolfstar - what can you say you know if you know you know they are the definition of literary soulmates. the fact that j** wrote them without the intent of making them be in love is so baffling it’s ridiculous. people talk about ships like oh they’re the sun/star and so and so is the moon which is all well and good but is it written in the text?? do their names literally translate to moon and star?? THEIR HISTORY wolfstar is the blueprint no one’s done it like them and i dare say no one will again
byler - my current brain rot and just may be becoming an all time fave (no that’s a lie they’re my fave) best childhood friends to lovers my favorite trope they are a ship i’ve always yearned for. small town 80s nerds the pining the angst the Horror! their potential is so promising and have become such a amazing vessel for me - i relate to both of them so much on so many levels that it makes the creativity just FLOW
catradora - catradora. CHANGED. THE. GAaaaamee. best friends to enemies to lovers?!? WHAT. honestly this whole show changed the game. nestled in each others hearts they know how to twist the knife but also know exactly how to make it better ! that one intense homoerotic friendship u had when u were younger that slowly destroyed you. catradora my beloved.
victurri - from yuri on ice. this one was esp special to me bc i watched that go down live my senior year of hs so it was quite formative. i hadn’t fully grasped my queerness at the time(even tho everything i consumed was gay…) but i did suspect i was somewhere on the ace spectrum and watching their relationship build and come together through a growing emotional intimacy was soooo special to me and they will always be famous. (also weirdly it’s the fandom i hav the most merch of w/o ever buying a single thing bc i never shut up about this show when i was younger so ive been gifted everything them stickers, key chains, posters, pins so much lmao)
dorlene - badass girlfriends. i have a whole backstory for marlene in my head that i think veers from the most popular characterization of her (she’s been very sirius-ified by most of the fandom which i’m not mad at but!) my dorlene MY dorlene is very srs and very important to me.
elmax - okay okay lumax for the show elmax for personal reasons. el a sheltered traumatized girl being exposed to true love and friendship w/o expectations or conditions by a gives zero shits free spirited max - max being harsh and stand offish to most people bc of her own history but is so warmed and won ovr by el’s honesty and naivety. the way they Can Grow together ! the way they can be exactly what the the needs!
honorable straight mentions lol:
recently carmy and syd from the bear !!! oooo that slow burn
jily obvs
and percabeth that is a beautiful ship of my childhood dreams and i’m so excited to see it play out now on screen!

My friend and I were discussing Crash Bandicoot lore when it hit me like lightning that Cortex is not just a doctor, but a doctor who (given his name) likely has a field in neurology. The conclusion we've come to is that this motherfucker is a medical doctor.
Which is a horrifying prospect given the nature of this man.
Eventually we got into a discussion on whether Cortex worked in a medical center. Which we also concluded he did just because the imagery of Cortex working in a hospital in his younger years would be fucking hilarious.
Imagine his fellow colleagues whispering about this strange dude. Just picture their conversation and rumors. Like did you hear he's been the one taking Chris' (clearly labeled) lunch almost everyday? What the fuck??? But I heard this dude is a goddamn billionaire? Why doesn't he buy his own lunch??? Noooo, dude, I heard him arguing with the head of medicine and like Dr. Cooper can't fire him because apparently he owns this hospital????? WHAT?! Seriously, I think he owns this whole ass land? Dude, that fucking creepy ass castle up that hill? I think he lives in it! Wtf why is he working in a random ass hospital??? Shit helen I literally went to his office one day to discuss a patients upcoming brain surgery and found like blueprints for a machine??? Like it had the words "evolve" and "mutants" written on it. What the fuck is he doing? What the fuck?
My god, this dude could legally prescribe you anti-depressants.

finished rereading. couple of thoughts:
since it's the freshest in my mind, i have to say the ending of rwrb remains absolutely devastatingly cathartic, this alternate reality where the events of 2016 and beyond in this world didn't happen. i remember my first time reading it, like actually sobbing because the trump election still felt so fresh and painful and raw, and that final scene where they flip texas, my home state, really really hit home.
which is another bullet point on my long list of grievances with the film. that scene was just. not nearly on the emotional level as the book. it was supposed to be this like. grand build-up. and instead it fell flat for me. it was too short, too condensed.
which, frankly, i think that's essentially what i disliked about the film overall. it was way, way too condensed. and look, i get it, you're crunching down a 418 page book into 2 hours, they have to cut stuff out. but they cut out. everything. they took the handful of scenes with henry and alex and cut everything else out like it was all just superfluous to their romance. JUNE. june was gone!!! alex's sister who looked out for him and who knew him better than he knew himself, who had such a huge role in the book, was nixed from existence. i can't fathom why. nora and pez and bea were there, but barely. there was no "white house trio" or "super six" or very much at all of alex's or henry's friendships outside of each other?
rafael luna, someone alex looked up to immensely, the blueprint of the man alex wanted to be, a senator who was like him, a queer latino in politics for the genuine desire to do good, whose seeming betrayal cut alex to the core, but through whom the corruption of richards was revealed? he also was nonexistent in the film. instead of that entire arc, richards' scheme to publicly forcibly out alex and henry's relationship, luna's role in helping bring that all to light, was replaced by....... some reporter guy that alex hooked up with once, who it is implied is the villain behind outing alex and henry. with no, like, explanation whatsoever. jealousy, i guess. gay guy jealous, outs guy he liked because he didn't hook up with him again? because he's a skeevy reporter who doesn't care? what the hell kind of story is that. queer on queer violence easier to put in film, i guess, than the story of corrupt republican candidate (also sexual predator) who wants to crush democratic encumbent president so has his team hack private email server and then leaks all the alex-henry emails to the public and pays people to get hotel footage and take photos to back it up. i literally just. can't understand this change whatsoever. it feels gross. tbh.
the whole plot is just so off. it doesn't even feel like the same story in a lot of ways? the ending of the movie is actually, legitimately nonsensical. they're publicly outed and alex i guess decides of his own accord to like. make a public speech confirming their relationship? this is while he and henry haven't been able to talk, communication lockdown, no conversations with henry whatsoever to even ask if he'd be okay with confirming their relationship like that. (book alex would ne-ver go public without explicit consent and support from henry) and then afterward the king is like "oh well technology these days, they can fake photos and emails" my dude the first son already announced it live on tv. there's no choice to be made there. you can't say "it was all faked" when alex claremont-diaz already told the world it was not fake. lmfao.
there is one thing -- JUST ONE THING -- that i appreciate about the film. and that is leaving out all the h*rry p*tter references. (to be fair, the book was written before the infamous transphobic twitter spiral, and also casey mcquiston, the author, has since actually removed the hp/jkr references in her book. which. bless. i didn't actually know that until i looked it up right now. i ought to buy a newer version.)
anyway. the book is really, really good. it offered me great escapism the first time i read it. it offers me comfort now rereading it. the movie........... was not it. there were certainly pretty men kissing and boning in it so if that's what you're looking for it's fine. (although i hold that alex's actor does not look like alex to me, which was actually one of the reasons i didn't initially want to watch, on a petty note) but as far as the meat of the story, the heart of it, the depth of it, it just wasn't there.
but it did get me to reread the book, so at least there's that.
