Do not fight your negative emotions. Observe and befriend them.

To get food unstuck from a frying pan, just pour water in the pan, and wait. After a while the food loosens on its own. Don't struggle to heal your wounds. Just pour time into your heart, and wait. When your wounds are ready, they will heal on their own.

RAVENCLAW: “What makes music beautiful is the distance between one note and another. What makes speech eloquent is the appropriate pause between words. From time to time we should take a breath and notice the silence between sounds.” –Haemin Sunim (The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down)

Some say they don’t really know what they are looking for in life. This might be because, instead of getting in touch with how they feel, they have led their lives according to other people’s expectations. Live your life not to satisfy others, but to fulfill what your heart desires.

Do you know why that conversation is so boring? Because we are trapped in politeness, unable to speak from the heart. Any conversation can become interesting and lively as soon as we start speaking with real honesty.

Life isn’t a hundred-meter race against your friends, but a lifelong marathon against yourself.

"Don't trust your negative thoughts, especially when times are hard. When you're in pain, it feels like the pain will always be with you; when you fail, it feels like you'll never pick yourself up again; when you've experienced loss, it feels like the wound will never heal. But nothing lasts forever, not even your hard times. You will get better."

“What distresses us is less the circumstances we find ourselves in and more the energy we expend in resisting them. Once we actually do the work, we are often surprised that it was not as hard as we imagined it to be. But when we resist, we become preoccupied by an endless cycle of negative thoughts, and in turn feel harried and stressed.”

"Wisdom comes with the ability to be still. Just look and just listen. No more is needed. Being still, looking, and listening activates the non-conceptual intelligence within you. Let stillness direct your words and actions." Eckhart Tolle
"I have no fear of losing you, for you aren’t an object of my property, or anyone else’s. I love you as you are, without attachment, without fears, without conditions, without egoism, trying not to absorb you. I love you freely because I love your freedom, as well as mine." Anthony de Mello

"It is never late to ask yourself “Am I ready to change my life, am I ready to change myself?”. However old we are, whatever we went through, it is always possible to reborn. If each day is a copy of the last one, what a pity! Every breath is a chance to reborn. But to reborn into a new life, you have to die before dying." Shams Tabrizi

"no matter how well we get along with someone, if we stick too close without building in some personal space, we soon feel trapped and burned out; it is easy to take the relationship for granted and feel resentful about not having enough privacy and independence. On the other hand, if we put in too little effort to stay in touch with friends and family, we can’t feel the warmth of their love."

Quote
Our feelings of disappointment stem from having expectations of another person that go unfulfilled. Such expectations are often unspoken, and yet we wish that people would somehow figure them out based on non verbal clues and fulfill them for us. When they’re not met, we become frustrated and want to shout, "Do I have to spell it out every time? Why can’t you figure out what I want by looking at me and my circumstances?” But of course it is difficult to know exactly what someone else expects if they haven’t told us. Without the power of telepathy, how can we know what someone else is expecting? If we do not express our feelings of disappointment, they will start to build up and transform into more difficult emotions, such as anger, hurt or even betrayal, and we may come to hold a grudge. So it is best to share your disappointment, rather than leaving it to build up inside you.
