it's difficult to even say I'm an anime fan in general bc the vast majority of them are so bad it's unreal. I've been thinking about this lately since I've been doing hxh rewatch #5 due to having 0 new shows to watch bc for every remotely decent well executed show that comes out there's like five hundred of the following: stupid light novel adaptations (always pervy), shitty isekai series that are virtually identical from each other aside from one stupid gimmick like "I got reincarnated in another world...but as a toaster oven?!" (also always pervy), disgusting harem series (pervy goes without saying), boring unfunny moeblob slice of life where literally nothing interesting ever happens, ecchi series full of the most degenerate fanservice you can imagine, b-list shounen that treats the female characters like shit, low budget poorly animated copy paste yumejo/fujobait show (nothing like the elite fujobait shows of MY day), etc etc.

like it's obviously bc they pander to the ones who spend the most money on merch and dvds and stuff (so hardcore otaku who are almost always total freakshows) & prioritize quantity over quality, but its annoying bc the medium has so much potential if they would just stop paying the animators sweatshop wages & focus on making series that appeal to a wide audience instead of pumping out slop for loser men who just want wish fulfillment, waifus & fetishes that completely alienate any other audience. I feel like this has been getting worse lately, I used to be able to watch a small handful of enjoyable shows every season (not all of them were masterpieces obv but just fun stuff that wasn't totally disgusting lol) now it's like maybe 2 a year. bah.

#at least dungeon meshi anime is coming out soon. + i have golden kamuy s5 & sk8 s2 to look forward to thatll be fun. #and the haikyuu movies obv. altho im still salty we arent getting a whole series for the literal best match in the whole manga #oh and isnt uzumaki finally getting an anime. we shall see abt that #the junji ito adaptations we have gotten so far are NOT good. lol #anyways id probably still be doing a hxh rewatch even if there were good new shows out lol. its the ultimate fave for a reason #my post

def a moscato — something bubbly and sweet cause i think he’d like that sort of thing u__u i feel like this goes one of two ways: either he’s a featherweight or he’s a tank. there’s no in between. i feel like featherweight is more canon but him being a tank seems more…. “in character” to his like personal plot dev of like.. being a monster or getting really good at it really quick cause that’s just who he is; he’d def be a touchy drunk, super giggly, even more easily impressed and honest with his feelings, just blurting out whatever thought crosses his mind, and then maybe getting embarrassed about it later.

i can see him being so open and easy with his physical affection when he’s drunk, and getting floppy — leaning into you or whoever is sitting next to him, propping his chin on your shoulder and laughing at whatever you say, even if it’s not honestly all that funny, but /he/ thinks so —

Do you ever think about how if a person got into a series/fandom after peak popularity they totally missed out? Not in a bad way, I just think getting to experience and participate in the explosion of a fandom is a totally fun and insane thing that might only happen to a person once. It's not just "a fandom" it's when the fandom of a series you totally love and resonate with happens.

I was rewatching the very first episode then I realised something. Kagehina was a match made in hell. We had Kageyama here, who was addicted to speed, and we have Hinata, who was speed himself. Kageyama had to realise in Seijoh 1 that speed is not invincible, which led to winning against Inarizaki.

*HQ SPOILERS*

And we see that Kageyama's development didn't stop there.

During the KaraNeko match, Ukai had to tell Kageyama to have courage, which led to Kags having the guts to give Hinata an open toss, because Kageyama still mostly use Hinata for his speed.

And then we have the Kamomedai match.

On the very first episode, Kageyama told Hinata sumn like, "You're not even physically ready, how can you beat us?" [Because Hinata was on the way to the restroom and nervous]. Which leads to the Kamomedai match, where Hinata falls and Kageyama wins again. Which led to the 8-hour sleep, veggie loving Hinata we know now.
