#haikyuu latest episode
Note
Lol your defending for GabiYui is really on point. I remember some watchers even said 'too bad Gabimaru's heart is stick on his wife, Sagiri is much prettier or hotter' or 'go for it Gabimaru, it's okay to have multiple wives'. Come on, are we now living in an era where a husband being loyal to his wife is something really weird? I need Gabimaru to show his ninjutsu to these people lol.
awww thank you! ofc I will defend GabiYui no matter what since this pair is so close to my heart and has actually inspired me to write better at romance (aside from the other characters from different fandoms I am in) and do my best in life (Nishinoya from Haikyuu is still my main drive but still)
now onto some big points of this ask hehe
re: "Sagiri is prettier than Yui" issue
Tumblr media
these two are absolute sisters your honor
I won't deny that sagiri is beautiful like I swear have you seen her and the way she fights back despite men looking down on her and how she swings her sword? plus episode 6 highlighted her being able to balance her emotions, making her gently kill rokurota. ugh perfection. chef's kiss. 1000/10 rating.
but ya know I don't get why people have to be like "Sagiri is way prettier and hotter but too bad Gabi is not in love with her" like what do you mean too bad? like ???? idk if it's just me but does gabimaru have to appreciate her being hot or what? plus ya know gabi is not into the appearance anyways. he even said in the latest episode (which is episode 7 as of this writing) that appearances really don't matter.
plus I don't get why people love comparing yui and sagiri's physical appearance against each other and saying "this girl is prettier" yada yada when they are both best girls with distinct beauty. in fact, there is an interview with Chainsaw Man author Tatsuki Fujimoto about Hell's Paradise author Yuji Kaku where he discussed about drawing female characters. according to Fujimoto-sensei, Kaku-sensei always drew his female characters beautifully in an aesthethic manner and his reason behind this is bcos "all girls are cute regardless so we must always draw them as cute girls" (not exact quote but you get what I mean) that's why Fujimoto-sensei added he has been trying to draw his female characters as cute as possible. so yeah both sagiri and yui are cute and pretty or whatnot. they just exhibit different vibes like sagiri has major main female chara vibes while yui is def softcore cottagecore vibes 🥰🥰🥰
besides, no matter what people say, yui will still be the most beautiful person in gabimaru's eyes. he even said so in both manga and episode 7.
Tumblr media
note: he used the word "utsukushii" for the term "beautiful" and in Japanese, using this term means you really find a person so beautiful inside and out that it moves you emotionally so the mere fact gabimaru described yui in this manner despite her telling him that she's ugly is something else 😭🥺💖
re: "it's okay for Gabimaru to take on multiple wives" issue
(THIS ONE WILL CONTAIN MAJOR MANGA SPOILERS AND OTHER CANON EVIDENCES THAT HAVEN'T BEEN TRANSLATED OR MOST PEOPLE HAVE NO HANDS ON DUE TO LIMITED SOURCES)
here's MY NOT SO CONTROVERSIAL TAKE on this one bcos you all know my answer.
it is no doubt that gabimaru can take on multiple wives. after all, gantetsusai mentioned he has multiple wives across japan. plus their time period allows men to marry multiple women so people making this statement knows what they are saying.
HOWEVER!
I actually don't think gabimaru will engage in this sort of thing (see, I told you my opinion on this is not controversial hehe) and here's why.
we all know that osa (aka iwagakure village chief) killed gabimaru's parents and took gabimaru in, even to a point where gabimaru literally lives in the village chief's home like some sort of special treatment.
Tumblr media
however, I think one reason gabimaru got special treatment is bcos both of his parents are high-class shinobis (like jonin level) and ofc osa saw his potential that maybe "ah this kid might inherit his parents' ninja skills or something"
plus, osa doesn't have any sons to begin with bcos surprise surprise YUI HAS NEARLY 20 HALF SISTERS with her being the eighth daughter. and accdg to Kaku-sensei, there is a major possibility of yui and gabimaru meeting as children (but alas it is hard to tell since yui has so many sisters). and yes this is all mentioned in Jigokuraku Kaitai Shinsho (pls someone translate this huhu)
so when tsuki (the toasted marshmallow gabimaru that we know) became the 58th gabimaru by killing the 57th gabimaru, he was rewarded for his skills and intellect by marrying yui. but the thing is, it's a common talk among iwagakure ninjas that osa has been looking for a successor and bcos he doesn't have a son, the only choice is to have gabimaru marry into his family (which is common in Japan)
Tumblr media
fun fact: gabimaru actually doesn't know why he was married to yui though. he even thought maybe yui has some kind of secret ninjutsu or something. he tried to find out but this boy went home and when yui greeted him with a beaming smile, he was immediately overwhelmed with feelings that he forgot his own agenda 😭😭😭
so what's the point of all this? you see gabimaru has never realized why yui was so adamant abt this sense of normalcy and all that stuff until he finally learned the meaning behind her dream. after all, in iwagakure, when a man is born, he automatically has to be a ninja and a woman has to get pregnant and bear more children that will become ninjas. and if they die during training, then they'll be replaced by another batch of offsprings that will be ninjas or vessels for children.
in short: women in iwagakure are not only beaten, but also treated as baby-making factories (ofc some of them become kunoichis but most of them just become a housewife that takes care of dozen babies). doesn't matter how young or old. as long as you can get pregnant, then you go do your duty for iwagakure. hence why yui loathed this kind of set up and when she voiced out her want for normalcy, she paid the price by having her face scarred.
but what if a girl doesn't get pregnant? ahh then the guy will take another wife, get her pregnant, then process repeat and repeat. it's a cruel cycle that never ends.
in osa's case, it took him like so long before finally accepting his wives cannot give him a son. and in my own opinion, these things can influence gabimaru into not having a harem marriage in the first place. like imagine marrying multiple women just for the sake of a duty.
besides, given how bad he's down for yui, I don't think he would want another woman other than her. like srsly gabimaru has so much respect for her and having a harem marriage would defeat every single thing he and yui are fighting for.
after all, gabimaru hates the idea of women being treated as broodmares. remember, his wife has been "marked" for the same reason. like he really abhors the idea and there are theories of yui being possibly pressured into having children with gabimaru and tbh it all boils down into this canon evidence from the manga.
Tumblr media
plus I hate it when people normalize cheating like "gabi might cheat with sagiri" or something like srsly? I thought we were all past NTR and all that stuff? if you are into NTR kinks, there are various media forms that can cater to that and sadly, Hell's Paradise is not the medium for NTR as much as these people want it to be.
that's all for today, folks.

Best Underrated Anime Group B Round 1: #B4 vs #B5
#B4: Human falls in love with an android
This anime is a 13-episode Sci-fi romance story about eighteen-year-old Tsukasa Mizugaki, who lands a job at Sion Artificial Intelligence Corporation ( SAI Corps). SAI corps has created Giftias, androids that are nearly identical to humans. Giftias have one major difference from humans in that they are only allowed to live for 9 years and 4 months before they start to break down.
Tsukasa is partnered with a Giftia named Isla. Slowly, they begin to fall in love.
Tumblr media
#B5: (Mostly) unexperienced college track team aims for big race
It’s a sports anime which focuses on a college running team. Their goal? To run the Hakone Ekiden, a famous marathon relay race. The catch? With two notable exceptions of their captain and their latest recruit, this team is composed entirely of amateurs. Does this mess of a team stand any chance of even qualifying for the race?
Titles, propagandas, trailers, and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#B4: Plastic Memories
youtube
Propaganda 1:
This anime is a heart-wrenching masterpiece. It is slow, tender, and incredibly cathartic. The art is beautiful, and the story is enchanting. Of all the random anime I watched in middle school, this one really stuck with me.
Propaganda 2:
My brother and I watched it together. He ugly sobbed at it so hard, he had to go stand outside and weep down the phone to someone and my mom thought that he’d received news of someone’s actual death. He was okay, though, I promise
Trigger Warnings: [Not Stated]
Tumblr media
#B5: Run with the Wind (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru)
youtube
Propaganda 1:
Okay so finally a sports anime that isn't set in high school. (There aren't nearly enough set in college.) MC is basically Older Running Kageyama, in both looks and personality. He has to overcome his past issues with his old track team, and learn to open up. I love the relationships that form between the team members. There's one who is just Not Here for It and struggles A Lot, who just wants to go home and read manga. (Hey it me.) There's also a cute dog, and a lot of the bg music is by the same folks as Haikyuu.
Propaganda 2:
I genuinely think this might be the best sports anime out there. It’s an amazing anime in general, with good animation, a beautiful art show, and a great premise, though what really makes it stand out is the characters.
RWTW is a character-driven story at heart, with all the main characters given their time to shine. The main cast is very lovable, and their relationships with each other are depicted in a sweet but realistic way. The protagonist, Kakeru, goes through a great character development over the course of the show, from being a lonely outcast at the start to accepting the other team members into his heart as found family.
While I’m not a runner personally, I still found this interesting to watch, since along with the training there’s a lot of thoughtful discussion on the nature of running: what it means to run, to be a runner. There’s a very philosophical aspect to it, which makes sense considering that RWTW is actually adapted from a book. The last thing I’ll say is that as a college student myself, it’s really nice to watch an anime focused on people in college and not high school. Oh, and the soundtrack is incredible.
Trigger Warnings: Alcohol and Smoking

From Setback to Comeback
Tumblr media
Characters: Kageyama Tobio x Reader (a/n: honestly, i'm still thinking about this but now my heart's leaning towards kageyama the most, so-) Premise: Oshi no Ko/Mushoku Tensei-esque plot. | Reincarnation | Feel good fic with a DASH of angst | Eventual Smut | Happy Ending Synopsis: They were like puzzle pieces, intricately shaped to fit each other's broken edges, completing a picture that spoke of healing, understanding, and well, love. Chapters: 1/?
-
Prologue
Dark clouds hung low in the sky as rain poured relentlessly, casting a gloomy atmosphere over the city.
The rhythm of droplets hitting the windows echoed the weight you carried on your shoulders. A young woman in her mid-20s, you were weathered by the storms of life, but despite the hardships you endured, there was an indomitable spirit within you—a flicker of resilience that refused to be extinguished.
Your journey had been anything but easy. From a young age, you faced adversity head-on, growing up in a tumultuous environment. As you grew older, your teenage years were overshadowed by mental health struggles. The weight of darkness threatened to consume you, but somehow you managed to prevail.
Through sheer determination and the support of a few cherished friends, you found a glimmer of hope that carried you through the darkest nights. You also found solace in the pages of books and the embrace of fictional worlds and other hobbies that kept you occupied and entertained.
In the present, you worked as a marketing executive, navigating the corporate world with a resilience that had become your armor. Despite the demands and pressures of the office, you held your ground, a force to be reckoned with. You poured your creative energy into campaigns and projects, finding purpose in each successful endeavor.
And as you embarked on your daily commute, you fetched your phone from your bag, eager to make the most of the long bus ride ahead. With a quick swipe and a pair of earphones, you immersed yourself in the latest Haikyuu episode, determined to make the most of your time despite the rain and the distance to your destination.
Season 1, Episode 20, played on the screen, with the familiar characters you had grown to love coming to life before your eyes. Hinata's infectious energy filled the air as he spiked the ball with determination, while Kageyama's precision and strategic genius mesmerized you with every toss. The intensity of the match between Karasuno and Aoba Johsai sent chills down your spine, and you found yourself rooting for your beloved team with all your heart. A soft smile tugged at your lips as you immersed yourself in the volleyball battles and camaraderie, finding inspiration in their unwavering determination.
As the bus journeyed through the storm, the world outside blurred, and the soft glow of your phone screen became the only anchor in the swirling chaos. Lost in the captivating scenes, you reveled in the anticipation of what lay ahead for the characters you admired.
But fate had other plans in store for you.
The bus skidded violently, its tires losing traction on the slick road. Panic erupted among the passengers as the vehicle careened out of control. The world around you spun into chaos, and within moments, the crash consumed everything.
Your vision blurred, and suddenly everything faded to black.
When you next opened your eyes, you were greeted by the sight of two unfamiliar faces. A woman with kind eyes smiled down at you, her voice filled with warmth. "Akane," she said softly, giving you a name that felt both strange and familiar. Confusion filled your thoughts as you tried to respond, only to find that your voice had been replaced by the innocent babbling of a baby.
The woman turned to the other person in the room, her eyes shimmering with tears. "Our daughter is so pretty," she whispered, her voice quivering with emotion. The realization slowly dawned on you—a reincarnation had taken place. You had been granted a second chance at life—a new beginning in this unfamiliar world.
And so, for the next few months of your newfound life, a montage of precious moments unfolded with your new family. The initial shock of being in an environment so vastly different from your previous life washed over you, but it was a pleasant surprise.
As someone who had endured hardships, the warmth and love that surrounded you felt like a dream come true. The tender love of your new parents enveloped you as they embraced the role of guardians with unwavering dedication. You watched with wide eyes as your two older siblings showered you with affection, guiding you through your first steps, words, and birthdays. The way they doted on you and included you in their games was a stark contrast to the solitude you had known. Laughter filled the air as your siblings guided you through playful adventures, introducing you to a world of joy and camaraderie you had longed for.
Your joy overflowed when you discovered the truth—you had been reborn in the Haikyuu universe. And how did you find out? Well, it turns out that your grandfather is none other than Washijo Tanji, the head coach of the Shiratorizawa Academy boys' volleyball team. The revelation caught you completely off guard, leaving you in a state of disbelief. You never imagined that the stern and grumpy coach could have such a soft spot for his youngest grandchild. As you observed him closely, you couldn't help but notice that he appeared significantly younger than he does in the actual series. This revelation filled you with excitement because it might meant that you had been reincarnated before the events of the series had even begun. You couldn't contain your joy at the thought of being the same age as some of the beloved characters from the show. You fervently prayed that you would find yourself in the same age group as the first years, or perhaps even the second years.
The realization manifested in the form of giggles and delighted shouts, leaving your family smitten by your adorable excitement during dinner time.
With each passing day, the gravity of your second chance became more apparent. The lost years of your previous life seemed to fade into the background as you embraced this new chapter. Challenges awaited, but armed with determination, you were ready to relive the moments you had missed and forge a new path towards happiness.
And so, as the sun continued to shine outside, you gazed into the future with hope in your heart. This was the beginning of your second chance, a journey of self-discovery, friendship, and perhaps even a touch of destiny. The pages of your new life awaited, ready to be filled with tales of triumph and growth.

Kidd is a sulker, no one can change my mind. His latest new invention didn’t work? He hides in work shop curled up under his coat and sulks for 3 days. He can only be persuaded to come out of his room with killers cooking
canon canon canon, this is canon.
i imagine Kidd as having a huge but very fragile ego, similar to the egos of Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club or Bokuto from Haikyuu. he'll get offended and sulk in a corner when he fails at something or gets insulted, but he'll be back to his crazy and very in your face attitude within minutes.
this is not the best for a Captain of a pirate crew who need their Captain on deck giving orders and not sulking over a broken invention that he was making to terrorise Wire with. the crew however have built their own tactics to getting Kid out of his sulking episodes overtime. these consist complimenting him within earshot, saying things like 'wow, I wish our big, strong and super cool captain was here to fix this table and tell us if we're attacking these marines firing at us', or have to resort to getting Killer involved.
Killer has canonly known Kidd since they were children, so he defiantly knows every effective and possible way to pull the captain out of his sulking quickly. what works best is Killer making a batch of cabbage rolls for Kid (according to his Wiki page that's his favourite food) and either taking them to the sulking Kid so he can uncurl himself from his corner to eat, or leaving the kitchen door open so Kid can smell the food and stop sulking so he can eat.
Killer defiantly has been cooking for Kid since they were young, so i can see his food having a sentimental/important meaning to Kid which means it brings him comfort when he's not feeling the best or is sulking over something. as a result, it defiantly works the best for pulling Kid out of his sulking episodes, but it means they get through a lot of cabbage (and pasta from Killer's stress eating whilst he cooks).
poor Killer is overworked by the Kid Pirates shenanigans, he needs a big nap and some paid leave for at least a month.

I've always loved anime ever since I watched Cardcaptors and Pokemon as I was growing up. The shows I watched as I entered my teens have nothing on the animes I've seen during the same time - Digimon, Beyblade and the like. So then I wondered why it took me so long to rediscover that love and joy I experienced watching Sakura and Ash do their thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I entered University I had the sudden urge to rewatch Cardcaptors, to recall that nostalgia and be enamoured by these wonderful characters and plots. Of course the show didn't strike me as hard as it did back then, but I was determined to rediscover my love for it. So, to restart my journey the most recommended show was Death Note.
Tumblr media
This show absolutely blew my mind away and I genuinely couldn't understand why I had stopped watching anime in the first place because this show changed everything for me. It is intricate in the most beautiful way. Light and L and 2 characters who live with me daily because that's how charismatic they are. I was pumped up and finally knew that there was no turning back. So I jumped head first into whatever I could get my hands on. That's when I came across Tokyo Ghoul.
Tumblr media
It challenged my whole understanding of good and evil, just like Death Note did, sending me reeling and leaving me feeling flabbergasted as I watched each episode. Was this the turning point in my life? Almost. Close enough. After graduating and beginning a new job I heard my friends talking about a show called Bleach. I couldn't understand anything they said, and all the references they made. I didn't want to be left behind, so I looked it up.
Tumblr media
Little did I know what I was signing up for when I watched that first episode. Everyone told me that I'd take forever to finish all 15 seasons (the latest season hadn't come out in 2019). I told them, "Watch me finish this show without skipping a single filler episode."
Ichigo Kurosaki and his band of friends cemented my love for anime. There was no turning back after this.
I've watched many many shows after Bleach. The list is quite long. I've loved almost all the shows I've watched, but nothing as much as I loved Bleach. That is until I started Haikyuu!! a few days ago.
Tumblr media
I put off watching this show for a long time because it was sports related and I have no idea about Volleyball. But as soon as I saw Hinata and Kageyama and the team from Karasuno, I knew I was sleeping on something great. The grit, passion and endurance that this show channels into our lives is insane. I'm not obsessed with just Hinata's success, but I'm thoroughly invested in understanding every single opposing team they play. That's how good the show is. As I enter season 5 of Haikyuu!! I can't help but feel so joyful about their journey.
I'm reminded of my timid beginnings, where I would choose to watch shows with a limited number of episodes. But that's the past. I'm here to watch characters living their best lives, battling through thick and thin, irrespective of whether they emerge victorious.
For the love of anime.

follow up~~~~: soooooo... how is my girl doing? how is your uni work going so far? Got any tea for us? Have you tried anything new lately? any new cuisine? new adventure? new clothes? Have u been back home recently? Any new films or series u watched that u'd like to share with us? a new hobby perhaps? Is Spy x Family your cup of tea? and if so, who would u be if u were to be 'isekai-ed' to the world? On the topic, which world (from any series and/or film) would u want to realistically live in?
HEYYYY
I'm doing alright, just got off work and have some work drama (the same old toxic workplace), been ill a couple of days been in bed with a bad cough and a sore throat. Nothing new recently, I haven't been back home either - there were a few were me and my family weren't talking, but we're all good now!
been watching jack's god of war ragnarok series, I'm always excited for those uploads. I am currently watching spy x family, not seen the latest episode since i've been busy. I'm also watching reincarnated as a sword as well, loving that series so far.
If i was isekai-ed to an anime, i would love to be in haikyuu or even like tensura (reincarnated as a slime)

Hey and you're weclome~! Ooh nice!! I haven't started the newest demon slayer season yet since I promised I'd watch it with a friend and we haven't found time to watch yet haha
Sounds like the story of my life these days.. I will do it.. once I have time 🙉 haha

Hello, dear readers!
I hope you're well and safe!
As I mentioned a little in my latest chapter (Yachi’s birthday chapter), I am not going to start Season 3 Shiratorizawa vs Karasuno until after I finish the birthdays that I skipped over. I thought I’d be done by now, but I can’t believe I hadn’t had the time to do them all. (Who knew these birthday chapters would be so time-consuming? I usually write an episode chapter in like 2-3 days!)
Furthermore, I will not announce a new date for the start of Season 3 at this time. (I don’t want to get your hopes up and disappoint you all again 😔 )
However, for those of you who love this story as much as I do and want to read more, please know that I am still working on this book and am writing more!! I have so many ideas — as I’m sure you’re sick of hearing already lol — for future chapters and editing past chapters!!
As proof, I think I’ll post some sneak peeks of scenes and chapters I have not published yet here on Tumblr to show that I have not given up on continuing this! These will be for people who don’t mind reading my rough drafts (aka not final versions of the chapters) and who are okay with knowing spoilers for this story.
Please do not worry as I will label Haikyuu manga and time skip spoilers, so you don’t accidentally read anything you don’t want to read!
(Please ask if you have questions regarding any of this!)
And so, now that I’ve done Yachi’s birthday, I have Moniwa, Bokuto, Mibuchi, Tsukishima, Fukunaga, Murasakibara, Nishinoya, and Kenma’s birthdays left! (8 birthday chapters)
(If you look at the Extra: Birthday List chapter, you’ll see that there are many other birthdays in the months of August and October, and while I may mention them, I’m not going to make a chapter for those birthdays.)
Many apologies for not having a regular updating schedule! But, if you ever have comments or suggestions about this book, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do!!
Thank you so much for your time and patience <33
Love,
Ai ‪‪❤︎‬‪
