I've already started concept work for my Baldur's Gate 3 character, I'm thinking a College of Lore Bard but I can't decide between dwarf, human, or half elf

26: What are their vices?

Elrond: incapable of watching anyone suffer and not help, will not take care of himself while he's helping others until he eventually just passes out and Erestor has to carry him to bed

Erestor: Spiteful™. cannot let go of grudges, ever. would love nothing more than to stab every single person who ever wronged Elrond. (also loves chocolate)

27: Who is the light weight that needs to be taken care of after a party?

Look, I hc them both as halfelves and therefore lightweights by elven standards, but Erestor's father traded with dwarves, so he's more used to drinking (and knows his limits), while Elrond... isn't (also, I adore Erestor taking care of Elrond, so...). However, the few times Erestor actually did get drunk, he became very clingy and affectionate, and Elrond thinks it's adorable

40: Who has an insatiable appetite? And what does the other do to help?

Healing is very draining on both the body and fea, and Elrond always craves sugar afterwards. Erestor knows that and makes sure he always has enough sweets ready.

I often run into problems when world building that really shouldn’t matter to most people, but I get a small amount of joy trying to solve them.

If elves live so long, why don’t they have massive populations?

Do they mature at a slower rate? Do women enter menopause around the same age? Are men less virile? Are they just more concerned with life than they are with sex? Do they practice very safe sex? Like can either party decide biologically whether or not conceive? Or do they use elvish magic or potions? Do elves even procreate through intercourse? Do elves have a third (or more) sex and only the right combination of partners can procreate? Do they do it like bees or ants?

And if any of things is the reason, how does that affect elven culture? How does it work with halfelves? How does it work?

more Elladan and Elrohir headcanons

Elladan has poor vision in his right eye due to a blow to the head 300 years ago and the discrepancy between his eyes often gives him headaches

they can both shape-shift into other 'human' forms better than their father and sister

because of this Elladan often 'plays' Elrond when he's home and Elrond needs to rest, since they have many of the same mannerisms it's easiest for him

when they were young their hair often switched between black and silver outside of their control

it settled on black when they were about six years old

but they can still switch easily to silver just by thinking about it

they can also change their eye colour from bright silver to lake blue to obsidian

this also can happen when their feelings or mood change quickly and was a dead give-away that they weren't quite elves all the way through their early adulthood

they're both intersex

Elrohir has his mother's laugh and when he first started to laugh again after her departure it stung

they both were born with two missing ribs compared to most humans and elves, though it is not very noticeable from the outside, it does leave them with some larger gaps between their ribs

their armour contains the most mithril in one place of all the "free peoples" of middle-earth and most of it came from their maternal grandparents

they often steal their father's clothes because he's a bit bigger/taller than them and it fits oversized and comfortable

My second submission for the TRSB 2020 event this summer! My collaborative partner for this piece is Drag0nst0rm on AO3 / Sweetteaanddragons :) The fic for this piece will come soon around September 6, if I remember correctly!

So, my idea for this piece was that Earendil meets with Elrond for the first time in Valinor, and is super overcome to see his son after ... I guess over 6000 years or so XDD I also imagine that the Silmaril is attached to Earendil through strands of light that swirl around his head. 

When I first started this piece, I planned to record a speedpaint for it, but I didn't like how Earendil's face was turning out. So I ended up redoing his face, and at that point I lost motivation to continue recording the process. Sorry about that ^^;;

thinky-thought for the Wild Roses ‘verse- some incident in a tavern where there’s a bard or possibly a bunch of workers or soldiers from a particular country- and they start singing a song about their famous ranger’s elf-loved luck, having carried the blessing of his encounter with an elven princess back to their lands and spreading it to his people, all those centuries ago. And the Wild Rose half-elven mercenaries, in the same building- descendants of said princess within three or four generations and very much in the know of just how much their Ancestor suffered and lost after her youthful fling with said ranger- start getting ready to fuck shit up over a song.
