Here’s another thought— what if the Rise Joneses are distantly related to the Hamato clan?

Future Casey is pretty darn identical to Hamato Yoshi/Lou Jitsu— same nose, same chin, same ears, same eyebrows, similar hair, etc, and it might just be the art style but his and Cassandra’s eye shapes look close to Karai’s. You could also maybe argue Cassandra has a similar hairline to Lou Jitsu

Rise Splinter broke off from his family because of how much their traditions hurt him. Odds are he isn’t the only Hamato to do so— maybe a cousin moved away to New York, married someone named Jones, and had Cassandra (or, alternatively, Cassandra was taken from her family as a baby/toddler, raised in an American clan, and was given the name Cassandra Jones to sever her ties to her birth family)

EDIT Or (and this is my new favorite theory, inspired by @webrokethe4thwall in the replies below) Splinter got around during his Lou Jitsu days and possibly fathered a few kids during that time. Since Cassandra is confirmed to be April’s age (so like 16 during seasons 1 and 2), and Splinter has been a dad to the turtles for like thirteen years, the timeline does fit for her to be biologically his (it would also be an interesting way to harken back to the 2012 series if Rise Splinter had a semi-antagonistic biological daughter alongside his adoptive/semi-cloned/However You Explain The Mutant Relation sons). Cassandra could’ve taken after her Jones parent and Lou Jitsu’s looks could’ve skipped a generation with Casey

Or maybe (since Cassandra admittedly doesn’t look that much like the Hamatos we’ve seen) Cassandra either had a kid with a Hamato cousin or used Hamato DNA to have Casey

Or Casey was adopted and his birth family was the Hamatos. (From what I’ve gleaned from listening to adopted people, it’s usually in the kid’s best interest to let them have a connection to their biological family, so they can have answers to any questions they might have). Either Cassandra called dibs on their orphaned cousin, or (if you’re a capril fan), an adoption agency figured since April herself is an honorary Hamato, they’d let her and Cassandra have first dibs on him (and Cassandra idk won the right name him after herself by winning rock-paper-scissors or something)

When you watch series, do you ever adopt character’s voices in your head as a voice of reason? As in they encourage you to be healthy and reassure you. For me since I am watching Rise, Splinter and Raph’s voices are that reason. It is usually Splinter more. Does anyone else experiences this?

Various pieces of information from the Rise Q&A back in February

It was revealed that there are other Hidden Cities other than the one seen in Rise & there had been plans for the Turtles to visit the Hidden City beneath Tokyo.

2. Splinter was able to use Leo's mystic odachi so easily due to the fact that Splinter had spent a lot of time in the Hidden City & because of this Splinter has a great deal of mystic knowledge, with Splinter also having developed his mystic abilities but he has stopped using those abilities until the events of the series.

3. More information was given about the missing Turtle Siblings & it was stated the Frida, Big Mama's Assistant would have most likely joined her brothers during the future timeline, it was also stated that the other missing Turtle Sibling would have possibly been named Camille after Camille Claudel.

4. When asked on how a Dungeons & Dragons episode would go it was stated that April would be the DM, Raph would be a fighter class, Mikey would be an illusionist, Leo would be an assassin or thief & Donnie would insist on being a scientist since he's sure that there was 'at least one sensible person back then'.

5. The Rise version of Renet could have possibly been used to explore different timelines that might have happened if certain events in the movie had happened differently.

6. After the events of the movie Casey is traveling around the world fighting remnants of the Krang & the Foot Clan.

7. When asked about the Turtle's relationship with Draxum it was stated that in contrast to Mikey who accepted Draxum the most easily, Leo is the most skeptical however it was also stated that Leo would have eventually 'gotten over' his grudge towards Draxum as there were multiple scrapped episodes planned where Leo & Draxum would have been forced to work together.

8. There were plans for the Turtles to eventually go to the Krang's original dimension meaning that it would have been likely for the Turtles to encounter the traditional dimension X/Z stuff such as the Neutrinos.

9. When asked about Casey Junior's relationship with the past/ present version of Leo it was stated that despite it being slightly different due to them being around the same age now Casey Junior can't help but still view Leo as a father figure.

10. It was stated that Splinter has never celebrated the Turtle's Birthdays in the past due to it being to closely related to his negative feelings towards his own mutation however it was also stated that after Splinter's development in the series he would start celebrating the Turtle's Birthday with them.

11. The reason that the Future Version of Leonardo was the one who raised Casey Junior was stated that it was due to the fact that the Future Version of Leonardo had a special affinity for Casey Junior & also felt particularly responsible for Casey Junior after his mother was gone.

12. When asked what the Rise version of Miyamoto Usagi would have been like it was revealed that a possible plan for Usagi was that his home dimension would have been overrun by the Krang causing Usagi to travel to the Turtles dimension for help due to them being the only ones who have ever defeated the Krang.

13. When discussing crossovers between TMNT iterations it was stated that a crossover between Rise & the 1987 cartoon or the 2003 cartoon would have been a possibility due to them also being 2D animated series.

14. April & Sunita were planned to have more 'girls night' episodes together.

It was also stated that Casey would have possibly have developed a dynamic with both April & Sunita so there is also a possibility that Casey would have been included in the 'girls night' episodes with April & Sunita as well.

You can just see how he grows obsessed with Lou xD

"Cheesy action hero whose movies I DON'T enjoy!" Straight after: "Rejecting Baron Draxum is nothing short of blasphemous!" is what kills it honestly. This yokai was down bad for a human.

The fact that Draxum calls Lou's combat skills "Inate genetic gifts" like Lou hasn't trained for them. Pre-redeption Draxum was such a Eugenicist & scientific racist, it's not even subtext.

It's like "No way this human earned his skill, is must be some aspect of his body."

It's also funny how every powerful Yokai who felt attracted to Lou also kidnapped him. Big Mama and Draxum both kept him in a literal cage :') - They just don't respect this human as a full person

(Has nothing to do with this but Lou's cheeks do the squish)

The soft steps of The old Hamato Rat man goes along the stone flooring peaking into the room with family, the soft talking from the twins fell the hall in a whisper tone as the kids April snuggled against Raph, her glasses discarded on the floor, Raph the big lad himself who's has a eye patch on and laying gently on the ground half sleeping half listening as Donnie sat next to him with his shell off and a few wraps around his waist and knees that just need healing and love to recover, Leo laid in bed slightly propped up with a pillow talking on and on, a sling on his left arm and his other hand patting Casy Jr who's sleeping next to him, then of course the youngest son Mikey in his shell sleeping on top of Leo not wanting to let go and to make sure he doesn't leave.

There's something so soft and special about this scene in Yoshi's eyes, he loves his kids dearly and wishes he can be the best father to them but he just doesn't know how to, his face softened as he gave a small soft smile to the group and closed the blue curtain.

His family is safe and home…

Yoshi softly walked along the hallway towards his and Baron Draxum's shared room, he knocked on the door softly, "May I come in, Barry?" He asked in a soft tired voice. "Yes of course, Rat" Draxum said in a soft voice with soft walking up to the door, he opened the door to the short Rat.

Yoshi softly yawned putting his head on the wall beside him, "kids safe" he said in a soft tired voice, Draxum slowly picked Yoshi up with a response from him:

"Hmm good now bed, Yoshi."

"Mhm kiss first," Yoshi said tired, blinking very slowly still trying to process everything that has been happening, Draxum nodded and kissed Yoshi's forehead gently as he walked into the room, Yoshi trailed along Draxum's shoulder feeling the fabric of the gray shirt under his touch and sting of his tears falling down his furry face, "Barry, I didn't…. I didn't mean" he whispered into a cry.

"Of course you didn't, My Love," Draxum said in a whisper, stroking the Rat's back, kissing his forehead again as he sat down.

"I saw… mum," he softly weeped, as he continued, "she…. She looked proud," in a crying tone which honestly broke the old Goat's heart.

"Of course she is.." Draxum said, staring down at Yoshi in his arm, hand on grin, "look at me, my love" he said in his softest tone only Yoshi ever hears.

"You are the great Lou Jitsu, fearless ex-fighter and a beautiful father to four amazing turtles…. You…. you show so much kind and generous, and not if most of all forgiveness…. and love," Draxum said softly smiling in a soft sad way, Yoshi tries to look away from the Goat in front of him, in a blushed sad smile, wrapping his arms around Draxum's waist as Draxum continued:

"I choose you for a reason. I may have it out of purely bad selfish reasons at first…. but now I'm happy that you are… mine… My Love and I couldn't dream of doing anything like that to you….. you are a force of nature and I'm glad you're here…. And with me."

Yoshi softly leaned into his hand in soft way, cupping the side of his face as he kissed the palm of his hand in a soft way, "I am just a cowardly weak man though," he whimpered out the tears still going down his face as Draxum slowly leaned down and kissed his forehead, pressing his lips onto his forehead.

"You aren't either of those things and have never been," Draxum said softly, wrapping his arms around the Rat, rocking him from side to side in a gentle way.

"I just maybe I was distant….. I was terrified that I would have… to leave like my mother did…. I love them.. my boys so much, that if I ever had to leave like his mother, I didn't want to put them through that same traumatic heartbreak," he choked out in a fast paced way as Draxum nodded.

"Well you won't just focus on the now and slow down and breathe in and out," Draxum said calmly breathing in and out as Yoshi slowly followed.

They both slowed down and breathed in and out for a few minutes as Yoshi slowly and softly put his head on Draxum's chest, the tears dried up, Draxum in a soft tired mutter asked if he's feeling okay and all Yoshi could do was nod.

"Mmh good… I think it's bedtime, Yoshi," Draxum hummed deeply, getting into bed as Yoshi held onto him, he laid snuggled into the taller man's chest, listening to his heart, it sang like a lullaby, in a soft whisper tone he said in tired gaze, "I love you Draxum," as he slowly nodded off to sleep.

"I love you too Yoshi," Draxum responded in a soft sweet tone, wrapping his warm arms around the smaller man, falling asleep under covers lawed into a deeply wonderful sleep.
